Writing this I realized my main thoughts on Evie's backstory are "DIE DIE GRIMHILDE DIE", to which... wow, what a surprise, never would have crossed my mind/s
AAAAAAAAAA WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS WOMAN. How fucking full of shit you have to be to starve a BABY for them to not be fat. Who starves a newborn? Who does that? Genuinely, who the fuck does that? Oh god, I hate her so much.
You know what pisses me off the most? THIS IS REAL. I mean, obviously is not real, but like- this shit happens A LOT. PEOPLE STARVE THEIR CHILDREN. Like, is common. I can name three or five friends of mine whose mothers implanted diet culture and self-hatred into them and GOD- I hate almond moms with a burning passion. Anyways, going back to the review-

In her moments of vulnerability, when she dared look in her cracked mirror, she knew her eyes could look like that.” Is this about Evie looking younger due to undernutrition? Evie and Malcolm are the cutest, I want to hug both of them.

She screamed about the company Evie was keeping, using every racist term towards Black people that she knew, calling Agony a cripple and Malcolm a retard (along with several other derogatory terms for people with Down Syndrome that I won't repeat,) insulting them based on their backgrounds (Agony's "whore mother" and calling Malcolm a slave because of his mother-) if there was a way Grimhilde could insult the two, she used it. She blamed Evie for her assault, shaming her for "being a cheap whore instead of a princess" and acting as though Evie had consensually had sex and hadn't been a child raped by an adult. She forced Evie to apologize to her, then forced her to apologize to the man who'd assaulted her for the "trouble she'd caused" and having people "hurt an innocent man." ” I HATE HER SO MUCH. GOD. WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER. The fact a child rapist knew he could go to her and tell her about how he had assault her daughter multiple times and, not only not face any consequences, but also get that child to APOLOGISE TO HIM talks about how much of a shitty mother AND person Grimhilde is. I had two moods reading this "Evie, Malcolm and Agony are the cutest and deserve the best" and "FUCK GRIMHILDE, I HATE HER"
Thankfully, the worst part is about to be over. Now she has a friend with connections to people who can help her. Of course, better doesn't mean her life is going to be perfect.

The amount of times I've heard about people restricting how much a baby eats to give them a "slender figure-" babies are supposed to be fat! That baby fat they have is very important! And babies are growing so rapidly, they need a certain amount of calories so that they can grow and their bones can fuse and their brains can develop! I agree, it's messed up.
Children deserve to not worry about their weight. They deserve decadence and the joys of life. Yeah, they still need to be healthy, but children deserve to have candy and sweets and food that isn't always healthy. Their bodies are still developing, they need this stuff because even unhealthy things make up a natural part of their diet. They have a minimum daily calorie requirement and certain vitamins to help their internal organs develop properly. To deprive them of that and blame their perfectly healthy weight is not only cruel, it's medically dangerous. Let kids exist without counting calories and sabotaging their bodies by trying to stay slim.
Thankfully, she's getting better. It's slow-going and doctors aren't sure how much is going to be permanent, but she's getting better and the damage is starting to mend.
Absolutely horrific to put that on any child, especially one who is elementary school age, Grimhilde.

They do deserve the world. They deserve the entire galaxy.
You know how children have this young look in their eyes? Like you can look into their eyes and tell that they haven't seen as much of the world, that they're innocent and carefree? It's like this beautiful spark they have in their eyes. Malcolm didn't have that spark. His eyes were serious, tired, filled with way too much experience for someone so young. Evie had seen that spark leave her eyes over the past year or so, and she had seen how it made her face seem older, more adult. A child without that spark just seems older than they are, and that's what Evie meant. Malcolm, like her, didn't have that innocence anymore. He'd been through too much, like she had, and it had forced him to mature far too early.
They're very cute.
He was just some minion. That was one of the only times Agony didn't regret using her power (most times have been on accident and, while this one was, too, she doesn't feel that sorry that it happened.)
They were already so important to each other.
Evie had found the first two positive connections to other people she'd ever had, the first two friendships, the first two connections to children her own age, and Grimhilde spent a solid hour insulting them. It was horrific. As for that guy, you'll be pleased to know that Agony told her uncle and that that guy is never going to hurt Evie or any other small child ever again.
Both moods are extremely valid and are exactly what I was going for. Thank you so, so much.

"Kauri, what the fuck? It's pouring out there!"
Kauri doesn't answer him, and he isn't smiling. His curly black hair is pressed flat to his skull, soaked through with rain, and his wide blue eyes are blank, empty except for an awful drowning guilt.
He's not wearing one of Dustin's sweaters, which is never a good sign. All he's got on is some tight jeans and a shirt that's cut high enough to show a sliver of pale stomach. He lets the backpack drop heavily to the ground, and looks slowly up at Jake from the entryway.
Jake, sitting on the couch, slowly sets his beer down.
"Kauri?"
The runaway Box Boy, who moves so constantly no one can seem to hold him down, stands statue-still.
"Hey." Jake stands, glancing back towards the stairs. It's almost midnight and the rescues are largely tucked in for the night - Chris is in Jake's bed, as per usual, pressed against the wall and pretending Jake won't notice him there. Leila is probably talking to Krista, asking about her new job. Antoni has music going - Jake can hear it filter downstairs.
Nat's been asleep since nine-thirty, simply saying, I'm old.
Jake thinks she's worried about something. He hasn't dared ask what.
"Hey, Kaur, I need you to talk to me."
Kauri blinks at him, then gives a whole-body shudder, all at once. Jake moves closer and Kauri flinches back, smacking back into the door he'd just shut behind him.
Jake flips the lightswitch and sees what he didn't see before.
Kauri's got a black eye, and a busted lip, and...
"Kauri. Did someone choke you?"
Blue eyes on his, barely seeing him. The smear of a bruise under one already purpling, going dark. Blood on his lip, split open. A swipe of red on his chin. Circles of red around his neck, gradually beginning to darken, too. Not fingers, no - something tightened there.
"H-he found out what I am," Kauri's voice trembles, is hoarse. There are tears threatening, now. Any moment they'll spill over. "I met this guy and he bought... I thought he just wanted dinner, I d-didn't know he knew... He said he wouldn't tell anyone, b-but... he kept saying, say when, say no, say this is too much, but... He didn't... I was okay, Jake, I'm okay, I'm just... I just..."
Jake pushes back all the things he wants to say, questions he wants to ask. None of them will help, in the end. None of them matter, in this moment. He moves forward instinctively, the old house moving around him, settling on its foundation.
The stairs creak behind him.
"I don't know why, why I... why I don't know... Why can't I just..." Kauri crumbles, knees buckling and falling to the ground. "Why can't I stop? With them? Why don't I want to stop?"
Jake drops quick to a crouch and pulls Kauri to his chest, feeling Kauri's wiry arms latch around him. His hair is soaking a damp spot into Jake's shirt and his skin feels chilled, clammy with wet. Jake doesn't let go.
"You're here, Kaur. We've got you. Stick it out here for a few days, I'll call Jack-"
"Can't call Jack," Kauri mumbles against him. "I got Jack hurt. All I do is get Jack hurt. All I ever do is get people hurt because of me! Because, be-because, because we're just fucking whores who don't know how to stop!"
"Sssshhhh, that's a goddamn lie. That's some fucking bullshit they taught you but it's not true." Jake sighs, thinks it over, and then sweeps one arm beneath Kauri's knees and the other slips behind his back. He picks the slim, lithe young man up like a man carrying his bride and turns to go upstairs-
Chris is already there. Curled into a tiny ball, staring with frightened eyes, in Jake's shirt again and a pair of boxers for sleep pants. Mussed-up hair and big green eyes.
"... shit."
"What-what, what happened to, to Kauri?" Chris asks, his voice a whisper.
"He got hurt by someone. That rain is real fuckin' cold, Chris, so let's run a bath, okay?"
Chris nods, slowly, one of his hands moving in a strange rhythmic twist of fingers, tapping against the wall. He does it sometimes when he's frightened, it gives away whatever he wants to hide. "Is he right?" Chris whispers. "Are we, are, are we really just just just-"
"No," Jake says flatly, harsh enough that Chris flinches. "No, I'm sorry, buddy. I just mean... you're not. Kauri's having a bad night."
"I want to stop," Kauri whimpers against Jake's chest. "I want to stop and I can't."
Jake takes a deep breath. Two of them, one in the middle of a spiral and the other one teetering on the cusp. Nat asleep, and he doesn't want to wake her for this, not yet, not if he doesn't have to.
Jake just walks up the stairs, carefully setting his feet to avoid the loud spots, and Chris trails after him like a beautiful ghost. They sit in silence while the bathtub fills, Jake peeling Kauri's shirt off while Chris makes quick work of shoes, sopping wet socks, and even helps Kauri, boneless and teary, to shimmy out of his pants.
Jake lifts him into the tub like a child, kneels next to it, and slides his arms around Kauri from behind, his elbows resting on the ceramic, his chin on Kauri's wet hair.
"Bath first," Jake says, softly. "Then sleep, and we'll talk it out in the morning."
"I can't stop," Kauri says, softly. "I don't know how to say no."

Chris moves across the floor, attaching himself like a barnacle to Jake's side, pressing against him. He's shaking.

Jake swallows around the lump in his throat.
"Then I'll find you, Chris," Jake says, keeping his voice low. "No matter what. And I'll... I'll figure it out from there. Kauri, I'm calling the counselor tomorrow."
Every other time, he's fought it and disappeared. This time, he just nods. His jaw trembles, his busted lip quivers.
"I'll learn to say no," Kauri says, a jagged edge of grief to the words. "I'll stop hurting Jack."
"I, I, I want to say no, too," Chris whispers into Jake's shirt.
And I want permission to fucking murder all the assholes who took that away.

“I love you,” he said, drawing another clean cut across his chest. Not deep enough to mortally wound, but enough to sting.
It’s clear he didn’t want to kill him. It’s clear that he wanted to hurt him.
“Please, Caleb,” Omri begged. Tears fell from his eyes as he drew in heavy gasps, trying to scream, only to have his voice fade and echo into nothing. “Please, don’t let them do this, please, help me…”
Caleb smiled, unmoved by the blood splatters across his face, or the knife-shaped glass in his hands. The cool expression read as nothing beyond completely empty. Drained of anything that could make him a person.
He fiddled with the collar around his neck, plucking at the metal tag that hung from it. Like he was a dog.
“It’s Elisha. Didn’t you hear?” He almost… giggles. Purposefully childish. Like they were playing a game. Caleb-Elisha leaned forward, half-lidding his one present eye while he hovered over Omri. “Maybe you weren’t listening. Guess I should start over again, huh?”
Elisha pressed a slow, painfully passionate kiss to Omri’s lips, before pulling away to look him in the eye.
“I love you. And there’s nothing you can do about it.”
Another cut was drawn across his stomach, deeper this time, and Omri could feel the welling blood dripping off of his torso. He screamed through his nose, the only sound he could that he could actually hear, as his head pressed back into the pillow. Omri heard Elisha laugh again, delighted in feeling him struggle.
He couldn’t move. Like a weight pressed on his limbs as they were outstretched, allowing him to move his head back and forth in agony but always preventing his escape. It didn’t help that Elisha was straddling him, pressing him further into the suffocating bed that Omri so desperately wanted away from.
“Caleb! Caleb please, stop, you’re-you’re hurting me, please! Don’t let them get away with this, please don’t, please…” Omri sobbed into the crook of his elbow, all of the painful cuts and stings singing to his song, rippling outwards in pain every time he gasped for air.
“Aw, diamond… I think you’ve done a bit much, don’t you? Look at the poor thing…” Another voice crooned, honey sweet and sinister at the same time. Then, there was a whistle. “Hey, up here boy! Look at me.”
Omri forced his eyes open, and they drifted over to a solid red figure with too wide of a smile staring back at him, glittering like the garnet he had held in his hands just today. The smile somehow grew wider at the command being obeyed.
“You look like you could use a drink. Want some tea? Come on Elisha, get up off of him.” The figure only needed to crook their fingers back for Elisha to move. For a moment Omri lamented him going away, but then realized it was for the better. “Go on then. Get up.”
Omri tried to move his limbs, whining as they still were completely useless.
“I said get up, Omri. What, is this some sort of fun game to you? I’m offering tea out of the kindness of my heart, and you’re just rejecting me? How impolite.” The finger reached forward, grabbing one of Omri’s pointed ears with a clawed hand and tugging. “Maybe you’re not really a fairy at all?”
“I am, I am!” he cried. “Please, help me, I can’t move. Don’t leave me like this, please!”
“What a damn shame. I think he’s broken,” the red figure said, as if Omri wasn’t begging for his life. “I’m sorry Elisha, but I don’t think we can take this one with us. We’ll find you another chewtoy to play with, okay?”
“Oh… oka-”
A knock at the door made all of their heads turn. Omri’s breath caught in his throat.
Salvation.
“HE- mmmphmph!” Omri’s mouth was covered quickly by the red figure.
“Oh no you don’t. Listen to me, Omri. Hey, listen!” the figure hissed, shaking him lightly to get his attention. Omri whined through his nose, pleading desperately with them to let him go. “I think it’s time you got up, don’t you think?”
He whimpered. He couldn’t get up, that’s what he’s been trying to do. Why couldn’t they understand that?
They sighed, tilted their head as the knocking grew more intense. Like a pounding in Omri’s head, it started to ache.
“Come on, love. Do I have to do all the work around here? Here, let me show you…” They reached over, pulling a sharp, knife-like glass piece from the nightstand. They positioned it straight over Omri’s heart. Tears wept from his widened eyes with an increased fervor as the fear and anticipation in his heart built up. “You line up where you want to go, right?”
They smiled, sharp-toothed.
“Then you push.”

Omri awoke with a sharp gasp. Two hands were grabbing onto his shoulders, shaking him awake. He didn’t even check to see who it was before he pushed them to the side, leaping up off of wherever he was laying to stand straight up. His foot caught on an errant blanket, and he fell backwards into the floor with a loud thud.
In the darkness, a red figure scrambled off of the bed too, kneeling down beside Omri. Their hand reached out to press against his chest, and Omri screamed.
“No, get away from me! Don’t touch me! Please, please, it hurts, no more, please…” His screams readily devolved into sobs, as he curled inwards on himself to protect the cuts across his chest.
“Om, hey, Ommy! Look at me, hon, you’re okay, it’s alright,” the figure soothed, holding up defensive hands. Fiery eyes glinted in the darkness, horns stuck out in the figure’s silhouette and branched out into antlers, and a large tail swept across the floor. “That’s it, who am I? Tell me.”
“Qui…” Omri wiped his eyes quickly to get rid of the blurriness in his vision. “Quinn? Please… please tell me it’s you…”
“Yeah, yeah it is, hon. Look, I’m gonna just move on over here and turn the lights on, okay?”
When Omri nodded, the figure shifted over to his left, reaching to the nightstand. His breath hitched, for just a moment, until the lights flashed on, blinding him for a moment.
When he was able to finally blink his eyes open, he saw the full figure of Quinn staring down at him. Deep reddish skin marked with several scars and all the normal features of a Cambion- 
And totally naked. He forgot about that part.
“See? Just me. It’s just us here, Ommy. No one else,” Quinn said, smiling faintly at the recognition he must have seen in Omri’s eyes.
��No one else,” Omri repeated in a breathy tone. Relieved.
His eyes drifted downwards to his bare chest, where he had been clutching his supposed wounds, to see… nothing. Nothing beyond the faint, white scars where a knife had been so long ago. Omri breathed a sigh of relief, relaxing against the ground he had fallen onto.
“I saw him. In my dream.” Omri’s voice was raw, like he’d been screaming for a lot longer than it felt. He wondered, briefly, if those echoed screams found their way to real life. Maybe that’s why Quinn woke him up. He turned his gaze over to his, well, his friend for now, who stared at him in worry. “I saw him.”
It sounded like a confession. Maybe it was.
Quinn’s mouth parted in shock, in horror, then finally closed as his brow furrowed. He crouched low to meet eyes with Omri, fiery gaze darting over every feature on his bare form to ensure that he really was alright. “Omri…” he started, weariness making his accent thicker, drawing out the last vowel in Omri’s name.
Omri looked away. “I saw him, Quinn,” he repeated. Tears welled in his eyes and his lip quivered. Like his mind could barely understand what it had just seen. “I saw him, and… and I couldn’t… I-I...
The tears began to run rivers down his face as Omri grimaced and covered his face in shame. Grief again swelled in his heart at remembering the last words he heard from Caleb’s mouth.
I’m sorry.
I love you.

“Friend is right,” Caretaker muttered. They were taken aback. Still. “How could you possibly blame yourself, Whumpee? After you were forced to do something you never wanted?”
“Because I chose it, for crying out loud!” Whumpee barked as the need to justify themselves grew unbearable. “Whumper let me decide, and I picked the way things would go! I consented, every fucking time!”
“That wasn’t consent,” Friend said blankly. The rage in their eyes had gone out, and only the remains of it seemed to waft over them like thick black smoke.
Caretaker reached out for Whumpee, but they withdrew from the offered embrace before they touched.
“You just want to believe your own version of the story,” Whumpee said. “You don’t care that I agreed to everything, or that despite everything Whumper tried to make me feel good, or anything I say at all. You’re not my friends.”
“Whumpee...”
“You don’t care about me at all.” Whumpee said it with a finality that chased an ice cold sensation down Caretaker’s spine. “That’s not true, and you know it.”
Whumpee shrugged, the movement alone exuding an abundance of sarcasm. “According to you I don’t even know my own story, so I wouldn’t be too sure of that.”
Friend stared unblinkingly and Caretaker’s expression softened a fraction. “You’ve been manipulated, Whumpee. I understand why this is hard for you. And I promise, Friend and I will do everything in our power to—”
“Oh, shut up!” Whumpee shoved them both aside and stomped out of sight until the only discernible sound from them was the door slamming. “YOU DON’T KNOW ANYTHING!” they screamed without restraint, before finally: silence.
Caretaker held Friend close to their chest as they came undone with a gut wrenching sob. If they were being honest with themselves, they wanted to join in – cry until this nightmare was over. But Caretaker didn’t shed a tear, so Friend cried for both of them.

TW // DISCUSSION OF & RECOMMENDED FICS FEATURING SEXUAL ASSAULT BELOW THE CUT
Hey, nonnie! I don’t think it’s weird to ask. Various people seek out Sexual Assault (SA) fics for different reasons, likely similar to the reasons that writers write them. One author I spoke to writes it because it’s something they fear, another I’ve spoken to writes it because it’s something they’ve experienced.
That being said, I do have some recommendations for this whump, but I ask you to please proceed with caution.
REMEMBER: Sexual Assault is an umbrella term for various non-consensual sexual acts that does include rape, therefore, this list will have fics with rape and not just non-penetrative forms of SA.
NOTE: I’ve only included fics that I have read and believe to be written well and with consideration for such a heavy topic. I have not included fics that feature any SA that occurred while Buck was underage.
★ The Long Way (Series) by Juli
A natural disaster like a tsunami often brings out the best in people. Unfortunately, for Evan Buckley, it also brings out the worst.
The very worst.
▹ Rape/SA + Recovery/Healing. These two fics are by far the most detailed SA recovery fics I have ever read. Be warned that the first story does feature some of the assault, but most is not shown, and is referenced to in future chapters and the second fic. It is 190k+ words, and the recovery comes in fairly fast. Worth the read if this is something you can stomach.
When The Night Has Come by autumnchills
His sex-addict days were behind him, along with every woman he’d slept with in that craze. Most of them were nothing but a brief memory and a face labeled by usernames.
Well, most of them were.
And he’d honestly never thought of what had happened as a big deal. That is, until Chimney hit them with the news.

he liked trevor, i could tell he did but trevor wasnt the one he watched get r^ped by a russian prostitute, he wasnt the one ian was secretly dating bc it would be a death wish other wise, he wasnt the one there when ian was manic or depressive ( at the start )
he tried blackmailing an old client for money

because he felt indebted to trevor and wanted to make it up to him, it would have taken longer to do it in ‘an honest manner’ when his sister would have gotten it instead, he knew how much gay youths like he once was needed a safe place

because thats all he knows, he grew up with that ‘playbook’ so of course hes going to take a page out of it, he is nothing like frank , franks money making schemes are selfish and for his own greed while ian wanted the money to help build a safe space for lgbt youth
he let fame inflate his ego
of course he did, hes a southside kid who was destined to fail
also it is very apparent that during the gay jesus era he went off his medication which didnt help

as much as yes, he did let it mess with his head, he was trying to still help lgbt youth and was going against anti gay churchs , in the end it didnt work out for him because he was off his meds and went over board
he stopped taking his meds

he actually wanted to stay in prison
because he was doing good in there
ian was helping others and was spreading awareness about lgbt with in the prison , and as him and jail scenes go , we can see people were listening to him and he was trying to make it safe sane and consensual
he let down his army of followers
“Ian admitted that most of his actions were completely irrational and the mere results of his bipolar disorder.”
he didnt want to, we can see this, because he knew he would let down everyone, his family were the only ones to ever ground him and they knew it would be the best option for his own mental health
during the gallavich wedding we can see that a lot of his supporters still have his back because they must know how hard it was for him to put all of that success on something he can’t control
he constantly wasted his potential
this is actually the only point in this article i actually agree with , so only 1/20 i agree with
his relationship with mickey wasn’t actually great

Did the restraints part of Six Times bother Chris at all? Even though he was doing it to Laken? Is that something he has trauma around?
Also: so did chris just get tired or did laken tap out? also would chris ever consider doing cnc with laken or is that too much for him?

1. Laken tapped out, they had an agreement and a safeword set up for them or Chris to use whenever either he or they needed to stop.
2. So, restraints DO bother him. A lot. He can't have them done to himself. Being restrained to kept still is a great way to induce one fuck of a trauma response.
But... he found it incredibly uplifting and empowering to be the one to do the restraining - not out of taking pleasure in someone's pain or fear but with genuine shared enjoyment.
It was a way of interacting with that concept he had never done before.
He took to it as a challenge, did research - even talked to a horribly embarrassed but attempting to be helpful Jake - and thought of the rope as patterns and colors layered over each other to change a look of light and shadow on Laken's skin, rather than something forcing them to be still.
Watching the way Laken's expression changed as he went through it, very slowly, talking through every knot and twist, helped him to understand how MUCH they enjoyed it.
Chris was able to set aside his own fear because he was in full and total control the entire time, and Laken was trusting him to care for them and not hurt them.
While Chris doesn't want sex, he can still get plenty of bonding out of the experience of pleasing someone else.
3. CNC would not work for him. He can't, even consensually, feel powerless ever again. And he cannot even pretend to hurt someone else in that way.
Their aftercare after this is just as much Chris coming down from a headspace of dealing with these sorts of things again as it is for Laken coming out of a headspace of being kept still. Their aftercare for this is very much them reassuring each other.

Hypersexuality and Laito Sakamaki (UPDATED)
Hiya guys! Been a long ass time since I’ve made a post like this, I’ve been getting so much ask box activity + had school so I haven’t had the time to make an original post! This has been something I wanted to write for a while, and not only was I busy with school, but this one hits home hard to me personally, so I was going back and forth for a bit writing it. But I think I’m ready :)
I know there’s kind of a general consensus that anything DL related comes along with a trigger warning whether stated or not, but just a TW considering I’ll be talking about some real life experiences; not in depth or detail of course, but just mentions of it :) Not only is this a Laito analysis but it’s also an educational tool to help other people know about this!
So, without further ado, rant under the cut! 
Hypersexuality is something that many sexual assault/harassment and rape survivors experience after the abuse. People associate asexuality or sexual repulsion as the only (or common) psychological affect after experiencing those situations. However, there is another affect that can happen, and it is more common than people think, and aforementioned, it’s hypersexuality. It’s basically having more sexual feeling and urges after the experience, in order to cope with the nonconsensual one. And it’s exactly what Laito experienced after Cordelia’s abuse.
I’ve also experienced something like this. I don’t believe I’ve experienced it in full swing, but definitely something like it. I haven’t been raped thankfully, but I have been sexually harassed/assaulted before a handful of times. I know I’ve briefly mentioned that in other analyses, but I’m just explicitly stating it here.
I first learned about hypersexuality this year actually, and my Laito nerd brain was like “holy shit that’s the name of what Laito is going through.” Then I was like “oh fuck I’ve gone through that a little bit too.” I thought going along with  would help me “heal” myself, and it really was doing the opposite. (UPDATE: realized that what I thought was a lot of sexual trauma/hypersexuality was mostly compulsory heterosexuality (but still with those dabbled in too—quite a terrible combo) because last month I realized I’m not attracted to men! Although those experiences I mentioned did mess me up a bit, realizing this is a huge step in the right direction for my own mental well being. Just had to make this correction on my part, since the original post had more emotional investment than I would have liked it to :)) 
Like I have said in my little update, I realized I was going through mostly compulsory heterosexuality while also going through some minor sexual trauma/hypersexuality. Although again, I have not had it as bad as Laito has or other sexual assault survivors (which I am grateful for that), I still have a personal grasp of coping mechanisms with traumatic experiences or experiences I did not particularly enjoy. (If you are interested in learning more about compulsory heterosexuality, feel free to send me an ask! I just don’t feel that it’s appropriate to talk about it in regards to Laito or make a post about it, since it doesn’t relate to him)
And that’s probably also why I can resonate with Laito so much, at least on that scale, and even if I experienced a grain of what he’s going through. I know he’s fictional but these are definitely real experiences and real feelings. 
Laito’s case is a bit different than just feeling overtly sexual. Although he’s trying to heal himself through sex and other intimate actions, he’s also doing it as a type of revenge. He doesn’t like purity, and in fact, he’s quite jealous of it. I’ve heard this is also a pretty human way of coping with this type of abuse, and it is why I love Yui as a character. She’s incredibly strong and sets an example for Laito. This makes Laito jealous yet entertained by her, and that’s also a reason why he probably keeps her around. He also attempts to use Yui as a vessel to avenge his own feelings (even not knowing about Cordelia being in her at first). I  personally wasn’t like that, but given the circumstances, there’s definitely people who are. Laito’s character can be so human to me sometimes, its astonishing, despite him being a character, a vampire, and just generally does some wacky or terrible shit. 
You could say his hypersexuality could also be similar to typical Pavlovian Conditioning. You’ve probably heard of the whole experiment of training (conditioning) a dog to expect food when they hear a certain sound and thus, his mouth waters. We’re conditioned by a lot of things in our lives, from triggering a “flight or fight” response from this specific ringtone or high school bell. It’s just a built in “routine” our minds utilize to process pattern recognition. I know I say this a lot, but we don’t know how vampire brains in the DL universe compare to human brains (and quite frank, I don’t think we will), so I will just do my typical human brain picking. 
In Laito’s case, he was conditioned to “love” Cordelia in a fashion that was incredibly gross. No, I won’t sugar coat it. In my Cordelia/Laito analysis, I talk about how Laito was probably groomed. Grooming is another type of conditioning. Although I don’t believe his grooming was sexual, it definitely “prepares” the victim to be exploited in that fashion later on. It’s to build a false sense of trust to be betrayed. Later on, when Cordelia started having sex with Laito, he became used to it in a “conditioned” fashion. When someone said that Cordelia was calling him, he knew what it was. He also thought it’s what he wanted, even though he knew that he didn’t. I believe I have referenced his MB Dark Prologue monologue before, but not this part of it. Here’s the monologue: 
――Who is it that I give my love to? Throwing myself away, I caught the sight of someone Someone I didn’t recognize, Suddenly, I realized I was looking into a mirror. The mirror reflected myself within it. I couldn’t see anything else. I am disgraceful for this greed. I was wearing a visage. What I wanted, certainly was love. It’s not that easy. Because of these words, I suffer. No matter how many times love is said, The only thing that will be important to me, Is only the physical contact and body.
I know I've said it in the Laito/Cordelia analysis, but Laito is visibly confused in his flashbacks. He’s trying to grasp what love is, but then convinces himself that love is physical contact, and not emotional connection, especially near the end. He knows he’s suffering but he is still conditioned to think like this. Same case for people who suffer from hypersexuality. 
Although many people do not know why it occurs, it can be a symptom or “side effect” from disorders, medication, and the like. In the sexual trauma case, I believe a main reason is that the person utilizes sex to cope with trauma, or because they are used to sexual acts being forced upon them. That’s where conditioning still comes in. He’s treated as one of her suitors, lovers, or the like. Even as a stand-in for Richter and Karlheinz. He doesn’t consider Cordelia to be his mom until the DF Vampire ending. On top of him not receiving emotional gratification which leads to all sorts of just awful stuff for him, sexual attention is the only type that he receives until Yui comes along. He is used to not having emotional support or connections, which is why physical contact is what he is more “comfortable” with, while at the end of the day it still does not satisfy him.  
It creates a positive feedback loop of him being unsatisfied, while being confused about where he’s unsatisfied in, leading to him trying to “fix” himself or avoid his own personal, emotional problems through lust and sex, but then still finding himself not “healing.” Then the cycle continues, enthusing his hyper sexual behavior even more.
I was sent some great articles from @souchiika on the DL discord (thank you so much!) and one of the articles stood out to me, since I did not talk about this type of topic on this blog yet. Here’s the link to the article, and here’s the quote that stood out to me!
Furthermore, indirect effects were also statistically significant, providing support to the hypothesis that depression and guilt would be serial mediators of trauma-hypersexual behavior relations. The paths through depression and guilt have been found to be the most significant with moderate and high indirect effects on hypersexuality. Moreover, male gender, as covariate variable, is a relevant risk factor for hypersexual behavior.
Hypersexuality is something that is still being researched like I mentioned earlier, but since these findings came out, it definitely makes sense in Laito’s case (and in general). Like I said, Laito does feel unsatisfied and even shameful of his actions, which is more apparent in the beginning of his and Cordelia’s “relationship.” In those flashbacks, he asks himself if this is what he really wants, and although he attempts to force himself to like these actions as a coping mechanism, there is still a relative degree of shame and guilt he has. It is also apparent nearing his DF Ecstacy ending when he finds out that Karlheinz foresaw Cordelia having sex with him, and even wanted it to happen. All that shame and guilt came bellowing out while he was in a fit of distress. In initial attempts to mediate this guilt and shame, he projected his feelings onto other women through sexual acts, leading to more of this hypersexual loop. I know I talk about Laito projecting a lot, but it is frequent in his character. Like I’ve always said, it’s typical “bully” power dynamic manipulation. If Laito can bring a victim of his down to his level, then he feels better about himself (but it satisfies him for only a short while, until Yui in MB+). 
Also, note that this is no excuse or justification for him to rape or sexually assault others. It is merely an explanation as to why he does it (as for my posts in general, it’s not a justification, it’s an explanation). 
Another reminder that rape and sexual assault isn’t about the sexual urges, but about power. That’s why anybody with any background can do it, given the circumstances. 
This post was a bit hard for me to write, so I apologize if I got too overtly personal for your liking. Like I’ve said in the past, I’m not writing this to gain sympathy too, and sure that sounds superficial of me to say now (although I truly mean it), I just want to use my platform as an educational tool. Sorry about the change in my typical tone :) 
Sorry if this was too much of a doozy, I really wanted to talk about it and to educate people, despite it being a bit personal. I just felt like the most effective way was to convey how real this topic is, despite this fandom knowing about it in a fictional setting.

Art yells.
The pain is immediate and sharp—two needle-pricks in the side of his throat. Then the vampire closes his lips around the wound he’s just made, and sucks, and Art can feel the blood rushing out of him.
It’s—ecstatic.
He yanks hard on the vampire’s hair, rolling his hips against the vampire’s. He can feel that the vampire is half-hard inside his overly-expensive trousers, and that’s good, too, in a way it isn’t always—the vampire wants him. The vampire wants him.
People want Art for many reasons, and Art hates almost all of them.
He wishes more of them wanted him for his blood. Right now it feels like the one thing he actually wants to give away.
The vampire pulls off, after a few big swallows from Art’s throat, and runs his tongue over the wound there, and Art moans, and uses his hand in the vampire’s hair to yank his head back up and push him into a wet, messy kiss.
Art can taste his own blood in the vampire’s mouth. He’s already a little light-headed.
God, he feels like he could come from that all by itself.
The vampire laughs at him, more than before, bright and delighted, like he’s as surprised (relieved) at Art’s pleasure as Art is himself.
“Do,” Art pants, too turned on to let embarrassment stop him, “Do that again.”
The vampire pulls back enough to smile at him. His fangs are very obvious. Art wants to devour him whole.
“Alright, alright, you beauty,” the vampire says, his smile warming his soft-velvet voice, which drips down Art’s spine like honey. “No need to rush it.”
“Oh, shut up and bite me,” Art very nearly begs.
The vampire laughs again, and tugs the collar of Art’s hoodie down, to bite him again, between his neck and shoulder. Art gasps (wetly; his mouth is full of vampire saliva and his own blood) at the feeling of the vampire’s tongue over the wound, at the sweet pull of the vampire’s mouth against it, of the hot rush of his life running out through his skin and becoming someone else’s problem.
“Fuck,” Art says passionately.
The vampire hums around the bite marks in Art’s shoulder (Art feels the vibration down to his toes) and puts his hand on Art’s waist and then—up his back, under his hoodie.
The staff at his Father’s house were ordered not to talk to him; no one has touched him in—
He doesn’t even know when the last time was.
(Yes he does. It was his father. But his father doesn’t touch him with his bare skin—he touches him with the soles of his dress shoes and, very occasionally, with gloves.)
Art rolls his hips again, to make himself think of something else.
The vampire’s hand moves up and down his back; his other hand is cupping the side of Art’s face. His mouth is on Art’s shoulder. Art’s blood is pouring down his throat.
Art isn’t sure he’s ever been this hard before.
He rolls his hips again, and suddenly it isn’t enough, none of it is; he pushes hard against the vampire’s chest—his mouth comes away from Art’s shoulder with a wet squelch, and tears the wound there a little further open, and it’s wonderful—and the vampire makes a little noise of protest, more worried than disappointed, but lets Art push him away by the shoulders. (It must be an awkward position, his top half angled back while Art doesn’t move his legs from around the vampire’s waist, holding their hips together, where he can still feel the vampire’s cock against his, only a few layers of fabric between them; the vampire is more than half hard now.) The vampire blinks his big pretty inhuman eyes at him, and then sees Art scrabbling at the hem of his sweatshirt and laughs and helps him shuck it off over his head.
The vampire lifts Art a little higher, like he doesn’t weigh anything at all, and lowers his head, to run his tongue over Art’s left nipple. It’s fine—it’s good, except it doesn’t hurt, and Art whines, and squirms against the vampire’s dick, trying to get him to—
The vampire kisses his way two inches up Art’s chest, and then sinks his teeth in there, halfway between his nipple and his collarbone, and Art moans properly, too turned on—and blessedly, wonderfully light-headed—to be embarrassed.
The vampire’s teeth burn on their way out of his skin and then they’re replaced by his tongue, soft and wet and warmer than it was—because Art is warming him up, because the life that was in him is going to be somewhere else, now; is going to be in this pretty vampire with his sweet mouth and his gentle eyes.
The vampire is still wearing his suit. Art pets the material with clumsy hands; it’s soft, almost slippery, and he hates it; he tugs on the collar, as hard as he can (which isn’t very hard).
The vampire makes a questioning noise, swallows, lifts his head—
His mouth is very red, now, with Art’s blood; it’s so unbearably sexy that Art has to kiss him again before he can do anything else; when he can stand to break the kiss (his own mouth must be red, now, too; he almost wishes he could see) he hisses, “Take—it off,” and his voice comes out more slurred than he expects.
Because you’re dying, his brain helpfully supplies. It’s such a relief he almost wants to cry.
The vampire laughs, grinning at him. It’s an almost painfully sweet grin—it wrinkles the bridge of his nose and the corners of his shiny eyes. Even the fangs and the blood running down his chin can’t make it anything else.
Art kisses the vampire again, softer this time, and can feel the vampire smiling against his mouth. Art fumbles with the buttons of the vampire’s dress shirt while he shucks easily out of his shirt and vest—and then puts his hands gently over Art’s, to help him with the last few buttons.
His hands are noticeably warmer than they were.
Art leans back, then, knocking his head lightly against the door, to get a good look at the vampire. His skin is the same warm gold-touched brown across his broad shoulders, and his arms are bunched with the kind of muscles you get from going to the gym more than once a week. And he’s smiling up at Art, like Art’s giving him everything he could have asked for, instead of the other way around.
Art sighs, and flops forward, until he can bury his face in the vampire’s neck. The vampire lets out a quiet breath, and then—thank god—wraps his arms around Art’s ribs and holds him, almost tight enough.
“I want,” Art says, against the vampire’s throat. The vampire is warmer than he was, and Art is colder, and he’s never felt anything like the vampire’s muscled arms around him, like his arms around the vampire’s tight waist, and no one’s ever touched him like this, like they care at all how it makes him feel, and—
And it’s Art’s last night, and he wants to feel it as much as he can.
“I want you to fuck me,” Art says, barely above a whisper.
The vampire goes still for a moment, and then resumes running his (cool, but warming now) hands up and down Art’s bare back, which is almost making Art’s eyes cross.
“You sure?” the vampire says softly, after a moment.
It’s a silly question; Art is dimly aware that if he were clear-headed he’d probably laugh at it. But he’s at least three pints of blood lighter, so he doesn’t; just nods against the vampire’s throat.
And maybe even more blood than that, because then he says, “Please,” in a small voice, and kisses the vampire’s neck, almost in supplication.
The vampire pulls back—Art’s heart drops into his stomach—and then lift’s Art’s chin with his hand and kisses him. Art melts against his mouth, gasping.
“You’ve got it, my beauty,” the vampire says, his voice honey-warm again. He’s practically glowing with happiness. It makes Art’s eyes prickle with tears, and he doesn’t know why.
The vampire lays Art down, with the utmost gentleness, on the soft white carpet of the living room floor, and kisses him again, slower and deeper. When he reaches for the waistband of Art’s jeans, Art breaks the kiss, tugs the vampire’s head down to his throat again, the side that hasn’t been touched yet.
The vampire gives a little huff of laughter, and bites Art again.
It hurts, in an almost unbearably good way. This time Art whimpers, his arms around the vampire’s neck; he wants so badly to be touched.
“Please,” he says, and the vampire sucks on the wound—Art practically wails—and then slides Art’s jeans and underwear down around his thighs in one practiced movement.
Art lifts his hips—grinds against the vampire’s trousers, desperate for any sort of friction now—and kicks his feet until his jeans disappear in some unknowable direction, and scrabbles for the catch of the vampire’s trousers. The vampire—god bless him—doesn’t stop sucking from Art’s neck while he takes his trousers off. He reaches for Art’s cock, while Art’s life is still pulsing into his mouth, and Art almost screams.
“Oh, god,” Art moans, “oh, please, I need—Please!”
The vampire has to sit up, to rummage around in a bag propped up against the wall for a bottle of lube, and the second his mouth isn’t on Art’s throat anymore Art starts to cry.
The vampire stops when he looks back at him, propping himself up over Art on one hand. He sets the bottle aside, and cups Art’s face, far too gently; Art lets out a horrible wet sob, even though he’s trying to hold it in.
“What—What’s the matter, you beauty,” the vampire says, his bloody mouth smiling but his eyes wide and far too sympathetic. “What’s all this about?” he says, and wipes Art’s tears with his broad warm thumb.
Art wants to say shut up and I don’t need your pity, but what comes out when he opens his mouth is, “Please don’t leave.”
The vampire’s bloody mouth drops open with mild horror at the thought, and that only makes Art’s tears fall even faster. “Beauty,” he says, “my beauty, I’m not going anywhere.”
“Please,” Art whispers, and tangles his hair in the vampire’s hair again. “Please—at least—please don’t leave until I—until—”
The vampire lowers his hips, and the feeling of him, hot and warm against Art, takes all the air out of Art’s lungs.
“I won’t,” the vampire says, in the gentlest voice Art has ever heard. “I won’t leave you. That’s a promise.”
Art gasps in a breath—he’s sort of blubbering now—and pulls the vampire’s head back down to his throat, and doesn’t let go until he bites again.
Art is warm and loose and floating when the vampire first slides inside him, pausing there, to let him adjust. The vampire is more than warm, now; he’s hot, from all of Art’s blood inside him, and his weight on Art’s hips and chest and his hand in Art’s hair and his teeth in Art’s throat are a better last sensation than Art could possibly have asked for.
For the first time since Art can remember, he feels warm and safe and wanted when everything goes dark.
