Helloo!! I'm brazilian and i'm still learning english so forgive me for any grammar mistakes. I've gotten all endings (i guess- please let me know if i missed anything!) so here's my review of Perfect Love! ♥
I loved this game sooo much! I never played an visual novel with a mean main character and it was just amazing. The trope of ''us'' being the actual villains is very interesting and it made the game super unique! It's also pretty obvious the amount of effort and hard work that's in the game, I was impressed by the quality of it all.
The music and sound effects are pretty good, I loved it all! The artstyle is very pleasing to look at and the black/white/grey contrast with Milo's blue/red eyes are such a nice touch too. I also loved the amount of easter eggs (you couldn't imagine the face I made when I named myself 'Ren') and secret endings/scenes.
Fortunately, when I first played, I knew nothing about the game nor about Milo (which I believe made the experience better since everything turned out to be surprising) and the endings were really good. Through the gameplay, I've encontered one grammar mistake (which I forgot to screenshot it, sorry) and one sprite glitch but nothing that made me annoyed.
After finishing the 8 main endings, I decided it was time to look a little bit on the official Tumblr's page of the VN and that's when I decided to test out all of the easter eggs and that's when I discovered the secret scenes.
So, to summary it all: absolutely 10/10! I can't remember the last time I had so much fun playing a game and being so invested in unlocking all of it's content! I was flabbergasted when I lost all of my endings heh
Please let me know if I missed anything- I'd be more than happy to clear the game entirely.
Hello there! I love reviews. On my other blog I always write recommendations/reviews for other vns, so I'm always open to seeing what people like and dislike about the game. I hope you don't mind that I'm just gonna mash these two asks into one ask.
Thank you! I also think that a lot of vns don't always focus on being the bad guy in the story and those that do I usually enjoy quite a lot! I'm glad you like the quality of it, it was a lot of fighting renpy and it's UI because I have a one sided rivalry with the base renpy UI. I tried to make it look good though I think I maybe should have attempted to redraw some of the sprites for Milo (for like the third time).
For the art style itself, I actually did it in black and white because it was originally for the 2023 yanjam and I wanted to make a style that wouldn't be extremely tiring for me, and I really like lineart so I made everything in black and white (and also because I'm lazy, I say as I animate half of my assets). The red and blue really make it pop at the end since it's one of the few time color is used in the game. I love when people put easter eggs in their game and I know of a lot of yandere vns so I wanted to put in a ton! I'll probably put in even more in the update when I get all of the extra stories done because putting easter eggs like that is very fun.
Having no knowledge of a game is always a good way to be surprised about the premise and I think it definitely was something good in your case too! For the grammer/ sprite errors if you do ever play or remember what they were, please let me know. I'll try to fix it in the next update if possible.
It's always so nice seeing that people like my game though! I tried my hardest to make it a worthwhile experience and considering it's (technically) my first game, it really makes me happy to see that people really like it! Hopefully it doesn't have too much of the first game amatureness that tends to come (nothing wrong with it, but I hopefully have showcased I kind of know what I'm doing, I say, sweating profusely) .
Yup! That is all of the scenes in the game so far. At least that you can access. If you look inside of the code, I actually have two scenes that I put in there. One of them is pretty much a test scene featuring the character from the next game I'm making, and the other is a special scene where you go to Milo's apartment. You can't access those in the main game, but you can play them if you edit the code a bit.
Basically (for those who don't know), all you have to do is put "jump" and then the name of the label afterwards (so for instance if the label is "rabbit" you would put "jump rabbit") after label start in the code. The two scenes that are not accessable in the game are the last two scenes in the script.rpy file just to make it easier for you. (I put a note that says like "#I'm very dedicated to my craft I say as I disect Milo and then beat him with a stick" because I'm sorry Milo, you deserve better)

I’m kind of annoyed at the big posts about Zepotha rn. You guys are gatekeepers and don’t even understand what you’re gatekeeping! Cohesion this and lack of plot that. “Skill issue” “Copycat!—” NO. We must go deeper.
Goncharov was a love letter to tumblr fandom culture. An analysis of the way we collectively talk queer themes into existence.
Tumblr blogs dedicated to queer ships. Intricate metas on the queer themes of a work. Screenshot redraws of romantic moments. Comics that are incredibly horny but still somehow capture the original themes. Prompt fills of what we imagine the story could’ve been had there been another (gayer) way.
So many of these types of posts on tumblr are considered reaches or “making things up” by the greater world. But they are analyses made meaningful through this shared sense of community, this shared experience of queerness in a society that doesn’t think of us or our themes as real. Goncharov being “made up” is a celebration of the way we come together to make the queer themes we want to see in the world, especially the ones the world doesn’t think exists. A way to say, “Of course we’re ‘mAkiNg tHiNgS uP,’ Goncharov is made up,” like it’s some sort of metaphor made literal.
Yes, the Google docs and the Martin Scorsese movie framework are a huge part of what made Goncharov work, but what spread excitement are the Goncharov posts just like the ones I listed above. Goncharov isn’t just what we imagine this fake movie to be, but also the fandom/queer culture we imagined surrounded it, and I’d argue that this culture is just as much of a framework for Goncharov as the Martin Scorsese thing was. Why else have non-canonical gay ships in the movie we made up?
TikTok’s problem is that it doesn’t have the original passion and love for queer analysis to gel it the way Goncharov did. Or really anything to gel it beyond cheap clout chasing. No depth, only virality.
It’s like a cute in joke being turned into loveless corporate marketing. Taking something from its original context to prey upon it, ruining what was good about it in the first place. It feels like when corporations tried to recreate Barbenheimer, except it’s someone trying to create a trend on TikTok to market their song, only for the trend to burn out quickly because everybody’s treating it like a joke instead of committing. By its structure (the reblog system) Tumblr is a place of collaboration and building upon what’s come before. TikTok, on the other hand, favors a personalized algorithm pushing viral content over content creators. It’s about reaching the top of a trend or a sound before it dies off in two weeks.
It just rubs me the wrong way how some people act like Zepotha’s crime is being a shitty copy of Goncharov. This is the Fanfiction website. We love amateurism and “originality” means nothing to us. We should be happy to celebrate the people on there making genuine attempts at TikTok edits of the characters or those TikTok green screen filter reviews of the movie or ‘dressing like Zepotha characters’ vids instead of denigrating Zepotha for being too derivative. There are genuine tiktoks out there that do a great job of committing to the bit and crystallizing what fandom formats on TikTok look like, which is exactly what the Goncharov screenshot redraws, horny comics, and queer metas were on Tumblr.
Like, there’s so much to rag against Zepotha—the inauthenticity, the clout-chasing, the way TikTok’s virality algorithm makes art worse, the lack of in-universe TikToks calling out the Zepotha fans for being racist (I’d kill for that TikTok skit!)—that roasting the amateur execution of excited teens is missing the forest for the trees.

I noticed a silly fact about my MC.
She acts a lot more like Satan after getting some confidence the year she spent in the Devildom.

And I think it is absolutely adorable because she sees him as a son (same with Beel), and she took after him and sjjdjsjcekfjef
I just love her familial and platonic relationships in the Devildom. I could ramble about them for, like. Hours.
Oh I totally get that. I could do the same with my MC lol. There are just so many characters, it's really fun to consider how your specific MC would react to all of them. And what kind of relationships they'd all develop.
I love that she ended up kinda like Satan, especially if it's just from spending time with him. I think it's really fun the way people often sort of pick up traits and habits from each other, especially when they live together, you know?
There are things that my sister and I still do the same way even though we haven't lived in the same house for over ten years. You just sorta grown on each other, you know?
And I loooove the found family aspect of the brothers with MC. So I think it's really fun to consider how your MC might change because they spent time with the bros and vice versa. Like you know those demons are picking up some random human habits now, too.
Anyway, I also like how everybody's MC has a different type of relationship with the characters. It's so interesting how different everybody's MCs are!

here's a writing prompt: AU where Saito is a therapist and Ryuki is his patient. Saito's whole thing in this AU is giving good-sounding advice to his patients that actually only fucks them up more. and when Ryuki waltzes in Saito decides to go all in and just like, completely fuck with him, more so than he has for anyone else. he isolates him more and more from the rest of his friends through the counseling he's giving, and starts meeting up with him outside of their sessions, etc etc you get the idea. mr abuses power dynamics gets a new power dynamic to abuse. how does that sound

bingewatched the entirety Rise of the TMNT recently and adored every second. I want to inject this art style directly into my veins, so I decided to try and redraw some screenshots (thank u Fancaps.net), two from the first ep and one from the movie (which is incredible btw, please watch it).
Leo was already my favorite from back when I watched 2012 (…’s first season, we didn’t have any of the others rip), and then Rise went and turned him into Sonic the Hedgehog so of course I was gonna love him. horrid little man. I’d die for him.

Ok hear me out, spicynoddle au.
Sugar daddy Redson and Sugar baby Mk
Redson needed someone to go with him to family events with, and it just so happened this cute delivery boy would do just fine. What Mk gets out of it is money to get him into a really good art school, and also pay for his dwindling supply of art.
But a bit later Mk and Redson are missing the touch of one another, the fake kisses start to become real ones, the fake fluttery love struck eyes Mk does at Red Son became real. Redsons fake smitten look becomes real.
also in this au SWK adopted Mk when he was 3. So he basically lived on Flower Fruit Mountain. And thinks living with a bunch of monkeys is supper normal. He knows their language too without the need of inheriting SWK's powers, though that comes into effect when he's 10 and slowly Wukong imprints him with his powers.

I thought of another au I never knew I needed until I saw it in a video that showed different tags on ao3
Flowershop and tattoo Parlor au
Sun wukong owns a flowershop with his son Mk, and Red Son helps out his adopted uncle Macaque in his tattoo Parlor. Mei comes to the Parlor all the time getting new tattoos and piercings, one day she drags Mk along to one of her appointments, and there the three sit and talk to Red Son as he worked on Mei's tattoo.
At first Red thought nothing of the extra person in his adopted uncles Parlor that was until Mei started to ask Mk about when he's getting his tattoo. Red Son gives Mk his number telling him if he thinks of a design and a place to put it on to text it to him.
Weeks past with nothing from the boy, until one day a demon monkey comes in asking for a percing, and who to come after him but Mk himself. Red Son having nothing else to do goes and chat with the boy as Macaque sets up what he needs to perce Wukongs belly button.
This leads to both sides trying to find ways to talk to one another, Macaque would order flowers to the shop making Mk go and deliver them so he has to talk to Red Son while Red Son ask Macaque to join him to look at said flowers for his ever growing garden of beautiful flowers.

👋🏻🤠 it’s the Pacific Rim anon back again! You are so right for getting me to watch it.
First off, the soundtrack blew my dick off. I never knew I wanted to see a big robot punch a big lizard with some heavy metal shred in the background.
I also adore the connection of the kaiju coming from the pacific. As someone who lives on the ring of fire, there’s the constant danger of fault lines buckling, tsunamis, volcanoes, etc so the fact that the destructive mega titans are coming from the pacific completely tracks lmao. And the fact that humanity’s poisoning of the planets ecosystems makes it more viable for terraforming?? It scratched the marine bio itch in my brain.
Oh yeah and the entire central plot of letting people into your brain and having them see your entire being in moments and choosing to trust and work with this person. The mortifying ordeal of being perceived but you run a huge robot with that. That you can share these bonds with people no matter how many times in the past you’ve been through suffering, you can always let people back in and it will hurt but in the end it’s what keeps you going. Maybe I cried 4 separate times watching it, what about it????

YOU'RE SO RIGHT ABOUT THE CENTRAL PLOT. PACIFIC RIM IS A MOVIE ABOUT SAVING THE WORLD WITH ROBOTS POWERED BY LOVE AND THE POWER OF HUMAN CONNECTION AND VULNERABILITY. I honestly couldn't have phrased it better myself though, "That you can share these bonds with people no matter how many times in the past you’ve been through suffering, you can always let people back in and it will hurt but in the end it’s what keeps you going." is incredibly poetic and sums up EXACTLY what makes the movie great. I cried so so fucking much as well, you're so valid.
NEWT AND HERMANN. I love these gay scientists so fucking much. I'm an expert, you can trust me on this. The fucking fact that them not being drift compatible wasn't even a possibility to think about makes me lose my fucking mind (evidently, seeing as I made a post about that exact thing fdgjlkdfj). Someone tried to cancel me on me on Tumblr
When I found out about it, I was extremely upset. Like I was about to deleted Tumblr and shit. I was already going through shit but that elevated it from 5 to 10. I was so upset my head hurt and I wanted to throw up. I stayed up late and my uncle told me to go to bed but I didn’t cuz I was too upset and involved in this shit. When my dad called me and told me he wanted me to come back to America, I was so fucking upset at losing this opportunity to stay in Taiwan and be independent. I was so involved in every single thing someone has to say about me. It made me feel so anxious and ashamed that something like that would break me and fuck me up. I even contemplated on wanting to die. They wanted to cancel me from my “safe space” the place I go to escape politics, which is what my other blog @nonpoliticalchinamatsu (aka Taiwanmatsu) is for.
You can just search the name of it I don’t have screenshots because I don’t want to even think about it or remember it.
But yeah, they tried to cancel me because I stole some posts from people that blocked me (and sadly I really liked their content a lot) and because of my political opinions.
Now they probably won’t see this at alll because they have me blocked but anyways, I am genuinely sorry that I rewrote your posts and I already deleted that
(Particularly one from a specific Osomatsu-San blogger who’s username begins with a V; let’s call them V)
And another user told me not to steal V’s posts and they thought I was blocked because I did but it was because of my opinions. And then this person blocked me.
I am genuinely sorry about copying the posts. (I was a minor back then) but I’m not sorry for my opinions because I never said anything that any normal human being would deem bigoted. (Then again, bold of me to assume youre a normal human being with a brain) I bet you can’t name anything I did that was actually bigoted.
I told them via alt account that I’m sorry that I stole V’s post and if there is anything I can do (on my main account) but then they just told me to stop having my opinions and refused to reach out and reason and explain to me for some stupid reason.
This person’s name is chorotchi, some punk ass bitch who thought blocking me and talking shit behind my back was a better option that’s going into my DMs and asking me to delete the posts (which again, I already deleted) like a mature adult. But what do you expect? Typical cancel culture loving, petty, braindead Tumblrinas. If you’re gonna be a bitch, then I’ll be a bitch back.

ID: A 3 by 4 tiled square, with each tile containing an artwork I've created in the year 2021. Each artwork is labelled with the month it was made in.
I've decided even if tumblr is shadowbanning all new posts from their tags that I'm just going to post it and re-reblog a few times anyway.
My commentary, for anyone interested:
January: I straight-up spent most of a month working on this drawing alone. I'm still pretty proud of the general vibes and how it came out in the end, but I learned that I should really, really work on composition. A lot of working with this one was figuring out how the figures would balance with each other, the fire, and the trees. It still turned out well, but I could've spent a lot less time working on it if it weren't for that.
February: I also drew some rwby that month (it seems so long since we've gotten any new RWBY episodes which isn't a knock on the crew, but a knock on the passage of time), but I decided to drop my picture of Voe here. I feel like I need to use Luke's Jedi Temple Grounds as a background at least once a year, and also, Voe! Fun fact: the twitter crop cut off right at where the water begins in the slightly uncensored version, hence the hastily-added bandeau to make it clear that it wasn't a blatantly nsfw art.
March: I was feeling stagnant about my art (when am I not, recently?) so I did a screenshot redraw again, and though it was loose and sketchy, I really enjoyed the vibes of this one—I think it was the catalyst that pushed me into finally buying a new paint program that was a bit beefier than medibang paint. The reception on this one was also fantastic compared to the usual Eighth Brother art, so I think people just like screenshot redraws haha.
April: Pyreny!!!! I've been shipping this pretty much since Pyre and Tierny glanced in each other's directions on Star Wars: Resistance, so I decided to finally put a piece of finished art to it. I really love how this one came out, and it might even be my favorite of the year. Once again, composition is key, and I was worried I had too much negative space in the bg, but the window took care of that. Also, this is one of the first times I've done a full interior background and I really love how it turned out. Also, Sumalee Montano thought it was cool, which is a pretty big plus and ego boost.
May: Is it really a year if I don't do something for a long-dead fandom? Anyway, it was nice to take a crack at John and Christopher again and some good old fashioned repressed gay romance.
June: This was a fun art month for me—work was less busy and I had inspiration in spades since I'd just gotten a new paint program. There are a few solid contenders from this month, but the vibes of this one could not be beat. Also, it's nice to draw something for inquisitors who get less attention. Also, I'd forgotten how proportions worked for this and the next month? References were my lifeline.
July: This one's simple (save the anatomy and perspective practice) but I like it and it looks like other people liked it too.
August: I threw this together for Remembering Resistance week in about a day since I had no inspiration up until that point. The proportions are sort of wack, but it turned out cute and okay all things considered. I have to throw this one in as an honorable mention, but I really did not want three inquisitor ones in a row, so.
September: Sometimes you just want to draw your ship kissing but not spend an entire month on it. Also, I remember about once a year that I enjoy two-toned art so this was fun. Once again, the effort piece of the month was an inquisitor but five in a row would've been ridiculous, so pyreny it is.
October: This is where the year got busy, and time (and inspiration) to draw was a precious thing. I really enjoy this one though, so I'm glad that I got to draw one good thing that month. This was the year of referencing poses, and I think that this one produced a quality product. Also, fun fact. I've drawn Eighth many times, but his armor is still a pain in the ass every time you try to draw it from a new position.
November: This month was rough, buddy, but at least I drew Luke's Jedi.
December: Also a rough month. Low on art inspiration, and though I've done a few sketches, no finished product. This one that I've posted is the closest I've gotten, and it's a bit of a self-indulgent sketch, so no post here.
Ultimately,
the end goal for 2022 is to dedicate more time for/have more time to do art. Have more inspiration. If my motivation isn't to draw fanart, to draw original stuff. To branch out. To work on my linework. To draw more ocs. To draw more star wars. To draw more stuff that's not star wars. I just want to draw.

TLK: Wounded - SCREENSHOT REDRAW
I've seen people make great points that Simba really should've been drawn with wounds after the ambush in the movie and I thought I'd bring that visual to life in a redraw of this screenshot in Image 2. I absolutely love his expression in this shot, so leonine and just realistically reflects how much pain he must be in

I too personally think he could've had some onscreen injuries (which don't have to look like how I drew it, they could've just acknowledged that he was attacked somehow like little crosshatch bruises or something lol), like yeah it's a straight-to-video sequel and the movie is executed in a more TV-appropriate tone and I bet they probably weren't allowed to make too many changes to Simba's model by adding wounds (which would heal anyway, they don't have to leave scars) since he originated in a previous film from a different Disney studio, so they gotta keep him looking "marketable" lmao
After closely watching the ambush scene, aside from the many times he'd been attacked on his left side (not pictured), I saw one lioness grab his shoulder, so I assumed she'd left a pretty deep scratch. For the bruise, I saw him fall pretty far down in the Gorge, so I figured he bruised or even cracked a rib when landing (also the Gorge is p dusty so I made his pelt dirty). For the bite wound, that was caused by Vitani when she'd bitten him pretty damn hard and hadn't let go until Nuka knocked everyone off the cliff, and knowing how unsanitary animals' mouths can be, I can imagine that bite becoming infected af later on (since it looked like an hour passed since the ambush in this shot, no doubt the infection had already begun). I really feel like if Vitani bit any harder she probably could've paralyzed him, I mean that was right on his spine (idk if breaking upper thoracic vertebrae can lead to paralysis but ye)
I'm wondering if I went overboard at all, like yeah I've seen Disney depict a wound just like this (See: Beast after the wolf attack in Beauty and the Beast), but still

So my current obsession is a castlevania little mermaid AU that i’ve been cooking up for several months now, featuring Alucard as Ariel, Sypha and Trevor sharing the role of Eric, and Carmilla as Ursula. I do want to make it into a fic (i have a complete outline already), but since life has been pretty crazy lately i’ve been doing some screenshot redraws to relax! Feel free to ask me questions about it if you’re interested, i’m always happy to chat about this sort of thing!
All backgrounds are from the movie except for the last one (that one’s not a screenshot, it’s a scene from the fic). If you notice some errors around Alucard (missing scar, missing fangs, wrong eye color, etc.) those are intentional ;)
