I've been having a LOT of fun watching TOS (the only Star Trek I know) and reading your comments on fanfiction. I left a couple comments there but maybe you're more active here. I'm curious about your opinion about Shatner's interview on the first movie (in particular where he discusses thyla and K/S shipping). As if, he kind of denies it... but not exactly? The interview itself is easy to find in youtube (I don't think I can link it here). Just curious about your interpretation.

Shatner has since then made it abundantly clear that the idea of Kirk actually being bi is silly and would never ever happen, which contradicts a lot of his more accepting behavior in previous years/decades. At this point he's one step away from asking why people are trying to make Star Trek political in general--because he hasn't watched his own show in at least thirty years and fanon has combined with old age to create a series and character that never existed. Now dudebros are clinging to him as the last bastion against all those weird liberals who keep trying to tell them Star Trek was designed to be politically progressive from day one and it's THEM who are being weird.

It's official. I have finished The Sunshine Court. I have so many things to say and yet have no idea what to possibly say. It was perfect. It was absolutely perfect and heartbreaking and gut wrenching and an insane emotional roller coaster and everything i could possibly have asked for from Nora. Like, not only is his friend really hurt, but there is clearly more going on here. Jean shoves him away and is frantically putting in a code for the door that's wrong — he doesn't know where or when he is.

He catches up to Jean fully clothed in the shower. His friend, who he has noticed never lingers in the shower and is afraid of the pool, is in the shower scrubbing at his neck.

Because someone bit him. Someone bit Jean in the exact place where he always claws at himself when he's distressed.

Will herondale or Cardan Greenbriar?

I love Will with all my heart, don't get me wrong, but what makes the difference to me is that while Will is like a precious boy I relate to (as a reader) and want to protect, Cardan goes through the kind of character growth which simply hits me.

Like, Will was from a beloved family where he had to run away from ever since he believed himself to be cursed and turned into our typical, sarcastic teenage boy with a sad past. Cardan, on the other hand, was the youngest prince of faerie, and yet, instead of being showered in love by everyone, he was not only prophesied to bring destruction and ruin but was also neglected by his very mother, used by his brother and despised by his father.

Where Will decided to be cruel in order to keep everyone from loving him and keep them safe, Cardan became cruel in order to be seen and admired and inspire fear if he couldn't inspire love. (I love that about Cardan's arc so much!) Also, the fact that Cardan can't lie is just SO HOT? Like his honesty, whether plain or in riddles is so, so powerful and attractive to me. Neither Will nor any other sarcastic character could ever beat that for me, except Jude, of course. cuz her sarcasm and lies are simply epic, lol.
