IT'S THE TOMATOES. #tacos? too spicy even at baby heat levels. IT'S THE TOMATOES. #prefers alfredo to marinara despite alfredo having objectively more pepper in it than marinara #he thought his spice tolerance was just so wimpy that my 'normal' was too spicy for him #so he's just been dealing with 1-3 meals a week being spicy to him our entire marriage WITHOUT SAYING A WORD #because he didn't want to offend me with his wimpy palate #IT'S THE TOMATOES #it's always been the gosh darn tomatoes

a fun thing you can do when you're a grownup is buy a bunch of ingredients and make 6 litres of spaghetti sauce in a big pot and divide it up into a bunch of containers and put it in the freezer!

#food #I used 4 cans of tomatoes and 2 small zucchini and a pound and a half of ground beef #and 3 bell peppers and a bulb and a half of garlic and 2 thingies of mushrooms and I think 5 onions? #I'm spaghetti sauce rich! I can have easy spaghetti occasionally for many weeks to come! #I was going to make it yesterday when I bought most of the ingredients #but then I realized the 2 cans of tomato I had in the cupboard were probably not enough #highly recommend making a lot of a freezable thing and freezing it! future me is going to be glad to have so much sauce! #cooking #I wish I had a cheese grater. I'm swinging in very late to @slocotion 's DIY Plague Doctor Contest for December! This month the theme was Fruits/Vegetables so I based mine off of a tomato, taking themes from the famous tomato pincushion with the little strawberry (or pepper) at the end!

The tomatoes weren’t as big as they were last time, I don’t think, but people still liked them!

One of the tomatoes was rotting a little and I didn’t realize until the very end when someone pointed it out so OOF but!!!! It was fun

Highlights:

- People recognized me from last time, I think I’m becoming Tomato Girl

- Some people who didn’t get tomatoes last time got tomatoes this time! One family wasn’t home last time, one family wasn’t home and had actually just moved in a few months ago, so I was actually the first neighbor they’ve talked to!

- Third family I didn’t ring their doorbell last time because they had a ‘baby sleeping don’t knock or ring doorbell’ sign on their door. But they saw me on their Ring camera and hurried out to catch me before I got to the next house!! The ‘Baby’ is now 5 years old, they just keep the note on the door because it deters solicitors. But I, as a Neighbor and The Tomato Girl, am allowed to ring the doorbell whenever! They were sad they missed me and my dad last time lol

It was hot outside and I was sweating like crazy, but seeing how excited everyone got about the tomatoes made it sooo worth it!!
