The Snake Man and Laura’s first met scene is paralleled to Bellerir and Khun’s first met.
And we know that scene of The Snake Man and Laura is about The Snake Man met Laura and fell in love at first sight with her.
The Snake Man and Laura’s scene started with the Snake Man met Laura, then he saw her face and fell in love with her. And if we read the chapter where Bellerir and Khun met from the bottom to the top, we will see that these panels of both scene are formed similar to each other and from there we might understand what is really SIU’s intention and what Bellerir really felt at that moment he saw Khun.
The scene started with the Snake Man wanted to see Laura’s face, so he moved closer to see her. If we read the Bellerir’s scene from the bottom to the top, we will see that Bellerir did the same thing like the Snake Man. He called someone to lower the platform so he could see Khun’s face more clearly. The texts (and context) from the Snake Man’s scene are matched perfectly with the Bellerir’s scene.
Tumblr media
Then we see both the panels of them looking up/down to Laura and Khun:
Tumblr media
The angle of both scenes are similar, the only difference is that Laura is in a higher position even though she is not as strong and powerful as the Snake Man, it showed that she is the one who will take control in their relationship. Otherwise Khun, who is more weaker than Bellerir, and is in the lower position than him. It shows us the gap between them and tells us who will have more powers in their recent relationship. But We can see that because the Snake Man has fallen in love with Laura, she then has more power in their relationship than him, so this can be a foreshadowing that Khun will be the one who has more affection on Bellerir in their relationship later on. Then in the next panels, we see the Snake Man and Laura’s faces, which are similar to Bellerir and Khun’s scene, we see Khun and Bellerir’s faces up close:
Tumblr media
Laura is beautiful and Khun looked confused but that does not matter, what matters is if we match the next panel, we will see how The Snake Man really felt when he saw Laura and it would possibly be the same to how Bellerir really felt at that moment he saw Khun:
Tumblr media
Do you see that? Bellerir’s face? The text? The first time i saw his expression I was shocked. It wasn’t only because the “mew” thing but that I couldn’t believe SIU would do it that clear. The “mew” scene wasn’t just implied the sexual tension (which heavily showed us all in the season 3 theme), it was also implied a romantic subtext in it which was decided to be hide under the sexual thing by SIU to make Bellerir’s character felt “sick”. From what i get after seeing this parallel, the real hiding subtext is that Bellerir made that face isn’t because of Khun’s mew, he made that face because he saw Khun’s face and fall in love at first sight with him. And if we ignore the sexual tesion of whatever is that, Bellerir is just a nerd who wants to be like his father but doesn’t really know what to do. I think Gustang is just the same. I read somewhere that SIU said Gustang got into women and cigar just to show Blossom that he was fine without her (which he is not). It’s just their acts to hide their true feeling after all. And lastly, after that we saw both the Snake Man and Bellerir made up their mind, the Snake Man chose to help Laura protect her child, Bellerir chose to get Khun out of that prison (to another one, poor Khun):
Tumblr media
Do i need to say something more? These panels are just formed the exact same way. It’s not even subtle anymore. If i flip one of them? Here we go:
Tumblr media
They looks just the same. I don’t have anything more to say because it is pretty clear here. I wonder it will be easier to make people think some characters are sick/obsessed with someone than make people think that they are just in love?
Finally, I did this analysis is just because i want to write about some romantic subtexts in TOG - which always have been there in the story and show my admiration for SIU, who made those wonderful parallels and gave this story so much effort and love!Thank you for reading my Ted Talk!

bi/ace-spectrum booker actually makes me super emotional... considering his wife and kids I am choosing to headcanon him as demi. (if only netflix would allow this kind of rep to be textual...)
that's super valid anon!! I've been a long time advocate for bi Booker, but that additional ace-spectrum representation really warms my heart. having that confirmation made me tear up! as you say, if Netflix weren't as feeble as they are at portraying queerness like this, it'd be lovely to see where it could go for Booker. all I can hope for is the comics at this point, and the eventual fan works that'll come from this. I choose to think we'll be in safe hands, but who's to say?

Hello! I popped in a few days ago to say how much I love your blog and I thought I would circle back a little bit with some of my (messy) thoughts on the ACOTAR series from an LGBTQ+ perspective. (Maybe I could make a side blog for this. God knows how I struggle with the horrible writing in the Dragon Age games on main). My credentials: trans man and bisexual, but I’d like to blanket that I don’t speak for the entire community and, of course, I am speaking from my own experiences.
So, the first lgbtq+ character prominent we’re introduced to in SJM’s bibliography is actually Aedion from Throne of Glass, and the only reason I’m starting off with him is because I’m really mad that he was our first prominent bisexual character in the books and there was 0 mention of his relationships with other men; it was a throwaway line before his romance with Lysandra (in which SJM butchered his character in the last book. Not to say that bi men can’t date women! I liked their ship but I was mad at how it was treated as tokenism).
Within ACOTAR, we’re first greeted with Helion, and the issue with his writing is… pretty glaring, I think. The promiscuous bisexual is a harmful trope that’s been toted around for a while; “oh, you’re bi? you must be down for sex all the time with whoever you want” which… ignores the fact that sexuality can be a spectrum and does assign bisexuality a sort of sexual morality that people have used to condemn us for a long time. Not to say that Helion can’t be promiscuous, but there is a focus on it as a huge aspect of his character when there are other ways to do it.
I feel like Morrigan is a little self-explanatory. It’s… not great, imo, that SJM isn’t being a little more clear about her (if she prefers sexual relationships with men but intimate romantic relationships with women, great! But please SAY THAT). The way she strings Azriel along is cruel and unnecessary—she shouldn’t need to feel afraid to come out to people who are supposedly “her best friends” or “are like brothers to her”. Hell, she felt safer coming out to Feyre, who’s she’s known for considerably less time! I’ll also touch briefly on the whole situation with Eris… insofar as to say that I think SJM writing it out with such violence was unnecessary and the optics of “I prefer women because men harmed me” that, while may not be necessarily true, the appearance of it being true reads really poorly because it’s what conservatives and conversion camps like to tout about lgbtq+ people (“you’re only like that bc someone hurt you”).
Thesan is another one, but SJM left his lover unnamed. C’mon. There’s barely any named NPCs in this series as it is, it wouldn’t have killed her to slap a name on his husband/mate.
Speaking of mates, I need to gripe about the mating bond too—in ACOMAF, I believe it is, but just in general, the bond is used to indicate NOT who would be happiest in love, but it is based on which pairing would “make the strongest offspring”. So, if we walk away from the heteronormativity of that explanation, how the HELL do you get gay mates? And if you’re gay, what happens if your “mate” is someone you’re not romantically or even sexually attracted to? Do you just have to deal with this uncomfortable and predestined tension and expectations to suck it up and make babies, anyway? And why should it be based on children and the ideal nuclear family? (We know why. But from a meta perspective, why?)
And as a brief aside, I still haven’t seen a trans character. Not that I’d want to. I think I would end up being terribly offended if she tried to do so. Sorry this ended up being so long! Maybe I should’ve devoted it to my own post 😔
No, you're fine! I'd had my own thoughts about some of these but I'd never considered the full extent of how abysmal her representation truly was. Tysm for this!

I think discussions about the immortals and privilege in tog fandom rarely go anywhere because people don’t want to factor in that with the exception of nile (and booker to a degree) the immortals are older than the social constructs that create privilege. So yes I would say because of that privilege any individual immortal may have on the abstract (like booker being a straight white male or whatever) it becomes harder to see how it is applicable to them in practicality. And especially given how much the immortals’ world boils down to the few of them, it would be more apt to analyze privilege as it might affect their group dynamic.

would love to hear more about how you understand andromache’s views on their own gender!! noticed you used they/them pronouns for andy :))
oh, thank you :> short answer is: they're MY fav so i get to project and live through the fictional character <3
long answer: i think andy's relationship with gender is both incredibly complex and really easy. not to get into history and queer history too much but historically gender has been much more complex than the modern and western binary we have now, so it makes sense for me to have andy, a character older than written language and alphabet, have a hard time fitting into the two neat boxes we have nowadays. i think andy has navigated through so many cultures and so many periods where the cultural understanding of gender, of what's feminine and what's masculine and what other options there are in between, can change drastically that their own understanding of gender will reflect that. can't say your own identity is x fixed thing when you've witnessed 4 different cultures in the same decade that have 4 completely different and opposite answers to what it means, where attitudes and expectations of individuals shift accordingly. if doing and feeling these things make you masculine in one but will be understood as being feminine in the other then what does it mean about you? this will lead to questions and self-reflection on your identity. even read with our modern/western standard, andy has both feminine and masculine traits, they fight and are rough and quite cold at times, the designated protector of the other immortals, their leader and boss, but they're also caring, open with their love and feelings, shown having roles and careers other than plain fighting, they're also the mother of multiple children in canon, and it makes me think that their understanding of their self would reflect that, reflect this lack of strictly defined gender
and without this historical and cultural aspect, without these outside inputs, i think andy would feel disconnected and out of touch with others, i think even in their first life there already was this feeling of otherness, of not fitting in so well and wanting to be something else. the way i see the character, and how i think they see themselves, is being in this constant state of in between, not being able to settle down fully in one thing despite trying hard to belong because of the immortality and their long, long life and long, long memory but also something that was there since the beginning, an existence outside the defined codes. which leads me to the easy part i mentioned: andy is andy. they may change names, change centuries and continents but, just like their mother's axe and just like the ship of theseus, andy is andy, and yes they are an anomaly but also terribly human, and it's an easy understanding they have now. others' perceptions of me will always change but i am certain in who i am and what i am. so while they'll use gendered terms in canon and call themselves mother and woman but also for various purposes use masculine ones like passing as a man for some missions, etc. and they are comfortable in navigating these gender and cultural norms, putting them on like clothes and shifting according to what's needed at the moment from them; deep down they see their person as detached from it, existing beyond, constantly shifting and at the same solid in its foundation.
and to me, using neutral pronouns is the easiest shortcut to try and get across these feelings and complex relationships with their gender

So, I (of course😂) have a LOT of thoughts after finishing The Assassin’s Blade — heading into Heir of Fire, so I still don’t fully know the series… this is current non-spoiler thoughts — but let’s get into it:
First off let’s deal with a big one: Celaena and Arobynn.
…Mostly “big” because their entire relationship is so severely f*ed up it take’s a LOT to understand… However, the biggest thing that keeps sticking out to me is the fact that it does makes sense (I am NOT saying it’s right, or healthy; to be clear it is most definitely NOT) it is a disturbingly realistic portrayal of what THAT kind & level of abuse does to a person.
It is infuriatingly painful to watch; as the reader you can clearly see the issue; you want to scream at Celaena to RUN already, get out, NOW; you feel for Sam’s frustration at times becoming fury & terror at the fact she does not stop him.
Yet, it is not a lack of knowing or agreeing with this that makes Celaena stay; it isn’t even wanting to stay, often she confirms the opposite; it’s the fact that she is utterly terrified. At times Arobynn makes her revert into a terrified state of childlike fawning. All centered around the idea; I can only seem to explain using this quote (because Shakespeare has nothing on Taylor Swift; though the context of this is 100% NON romantic; that question mark on their relationship is utterly skin crawling) “Who’s going to know me?” if not Arobynn who is going to know Aelin Galathynius ever even existed?
… Everything Celaena has become she has been (falsely) taught into believing was “Arobynn given”; even her notoriety as the prized “Adarlan’s Assassin” is not by her mark but by his word. He has ensured at every opportunity that she does not forget it; that she feels small & one breath away from being prey, that she does not feel sure of herself or anything aside from him (and even that is a pendulum) that she is haunted by her past; and never forgets what it is to lose EVERYTHING. She lost everything. In that she had to destroy every piece of the girl she was; the one that had a family she loved; the one that had a home, a country, a purpose; anything she was before the one Arobynn pulled out of the river. And if not him; does anyone even remember? — Does it all cease to be nothing more than forgotten; her grief, her love, Aelin herself; is it any different than if Aelin had drowned in the river?
— This is Celaena’s obsession with being remembered; on the surface it appears shallow, selfish, full of nothing more than pride & arrogance alone; in truth it has more to do with fear (a key point of her character’s driving mindset) & purpose (a key point of humanity/morality).
… How does she make any sense of all she has done & become at Arobynn’s hand; every life she has taken, every terrible thing she has done; if not for him?
And this is why for so long she stays; because she is more afraid of the unknown & so tired of loss; it feels much safer to be known, to know the loss that will come, to hurt with familiar pain, to exist within a rather to his realm; then to feel as if she is risking everything over again.

On Mate Behavior: Elriel (Part Two- Scent)
Another day of an SJM Instagram jump scare with more stories and no book accouncement (though I am HAPPILY celebrating indie bookstore day with you all!)- So it's another day to be on my Elriel shit. Will we still want posts like this once the announcement is out and we are done fighting for our lives? I feel like the announcement is coming soon so I need to sneak in all my thoughts!
In my previous analysis, I highlighted a moment that would have been perfect for Azriel to display some mate-like behavior towards Gwyn, and it was sorely lacking. You can catch up on that post here!
Today I would like to discuss another area lacking in mate behavior in the BC between Azriel and Gwyn, but present for... drumroll... Elriel. And that is scent.
Bringing back Nessian's bonus chapter to start the parallels, because I do think an additional bonus lends itself to the fairest basis for comparison (also if I used book examples from ToG to CC regarding romantic parings/mates and scent I'd be here for several hundred years):
Tumblr media
Cassian is so lost in Nesta's scent that he had to stop himself from letting his eyes roll back into his head while breathing her in. This... sounds familiar:
Tumblr media
Azriel's eyes also nearly rolled into the back of his head because of Elain's scent.
As previously mentioned, scent plays a huge role in mates/romantic pairings. I was chatting with my friend @faeprincesswarrior when I first started thinking about the scent thing, and she remembered that Rhys could smell Feyre's scent before they even met. He would wake up with her scent in his nose. Cassian and Azriel both can hardly control themselves when they take in the scents of Nesta and Elain.
Scent plays an important role in romantic pairings, and is honestly probably one of the things SJM lays on the thickest throughout the entirety of her multiverse and she has a tendency to drop it early on, often as an initial indicator. Yes, sometimes scenting is platonic, but Gwyn and Az don't even have that on page. There is simply no mention of scent in their portion of the chapter, but it is heavy in Elain's section.
*Crescent City 3 Spoiler* Even when Ithan is done with all his side quests and spends just a few moments with Perry, he's suddenly like mmm... strawberries and cinnamon. No other indicator of mate behavior there but MANY readers only needed that little nugget to be like- something's cooking here.
Again, in addition to Azriel's lack of response to directly recalling Gwyn's assault from his POV on page- something I would have liked to see to indicate feelings could be brewing there- there is also zero mention or indication that Azriel experiences Gwyn's scent at all. Even something small, like "a shift in her scent" at his arrival, or noticing a change in her scent from her flash of memory as well (as it happened between Nesta and Cassian.)
Azriel lost his mind over Elain's scent in their bonus chapter, just as Cassian lost his mind over Nesta's scent in theirs.
Azriel makes no mention of Gwyn's scent in the BC. It's as if to him, she doesn't even have one.
I want Azriel and Elain to be together because Azriel and Elain want to be together. They experience what romantic pairings experience together, and it is delicious.
I love Gwyn, which is why I think if she is going to have a romance in the future, she deserves more than a regifted necklace and a male who is drowning in the scent of another female's kitty and doesn't even notice what Gwyn smells like. This is really what we want for her?
Hoping for a book announcement soon. Do you guys like seeing Sarah post more? I have mixed feelings. Part of me thinks it is gearing up for an announcement which is exciting. Part of me also is tired of the jump scares and wants complete silence unless it is a book announcement. Judge me if you must!

honestly i love mcc i love competitive minecraft but the game just isn’t fun for anyone anymore. lots of players have dropped out are talking of dropping out or go on stream saying things like ‘this is the first mcc i’ve actually enjoyed in a while’ . like. thats not the sign that an event is successful . and i don’t really think that’s scott’s or the developers faults but it’s more so the culture around mcc that has changed drastically in the past year or so.
when i first started watching it, mcc was about cc’s learning to work together and competing in a fun event where there was no real stakes except the winners got a fun little token. mccs rise in popularity has snowballed a little to develop this culture of expectancy . as with all fanbases, some fans become a little too engrossed in the content and become a little overbearing about it creating this toxic culture of criticism under the guise of analysis . this isn’t to say that all mcc analysts are toxic or that the concept of vod reviewing and analysing a players performance is bad- but the attitude that a lot of the more vocal fans have been taking towards this has been .mm . not the best .
forcing players into rigid boxes based on their performance records and dogpiling them if they undeperform or over glorifying a players for performing above their average etc, it creates a competitive culture amongst fans trying to prove who suppprts the better player . very much ‘my dad is stronger than your dad’ kind of vibe.
this whole attitude also makes it less enjoyable for the players who may now feel a lot of pressure to conform to the expectations of their fans- of course everyone tries their best every event but if someone’s having a bad performance they’re more likely to experience genuine discomfort and self confidence issues continuing in the event because they know what people are expecting of them . even for lower ranking players it can affect self confidence because nobody expects anything of them .
its marketed deeply throughout the fandom as a for fun event with people who are naturally competitive being shunned for their competitive attitude but logging online and seeing people hating some people winning, hating on other teams for knocking their team out of top 2, refusing to congratulate the winners, even complaining over and over again that some aspects of the event like pvp and parkour are unfair to their streamer because their streamer ain’t good at them to the point where pvp and parkour games had their coin distribution rules changed . that doesn’t scream for fun behaviour .
that’s another thing . random changes to games that don’t necessarily need to be changed . the buildmart changes were good it make it easier to navigate and allowed people to move between sections faster and featured some new builds, the sky battle coin distribution prioritising the amount of time you survive over kills actually undermines the point of the game as a pvp heavy event . instead of fighting people you can get away with playing more defensively . we already have survival games for survivability . same goes for remixes i don’t think they typically go down well . some might but majority don’t tend to have a good reception .
even within the players themselves, there’s because quite a cliquey kind of dynamic where if the team with the most support doesn’t win, the winners are not congratulated. take last night for example . ponk and gumi scored their first wins, ponk being the first black person and as far as i can remember gumi being the second woc and first asian woman to win an mcc . let’s not even get into the diversity of mcc right now but only two people came into the voice call which lasted a while after the event to congratulate the team, only sylvee and scott and a few replies on twitter . ‘oh but the captain’ idc . i love him too but he didn’t win and it was a big day for the team that did with 50% of the team getting their first win and they played really well together. looking again at fan behaviour towards creators some players have felt unwelcome by the pressure of the competitive dynamic called bad sports for being upset with their own underperforming and alienated by the community for having multiple wins or because they just don’t want them in the event . that doesn’t scream for fun . and that in itself is really bad sportsmanship .
i think overall what started to kill mcc was it’s pandering really. i’ve fully done research on how scott puts together teams before but i still believe a lot of what goes into a team is how well it will be received. it doesn’t really force creators to get to know each other and work with each other it just takes groups of people who already know each other have relationships with each other and have relationships that are recognisable to the fanbase . this doesn’t allow people to meet and find new creators they might enjoy to watch and it prioritises some teams as the Ones To Watch because of certain dynamics pres t which undermines any smaller creators trying to make their way into the event . the insistence on changing games based on viewer complaints as opposed to suggestions from players themselves on how things can be improved is just odd to me too .
idk man mcc just isn’t what it used to be and a lot of people are becoming way too entitled over what they want to see there

this fandom might actually be the worst one I’ve seen!! I flip through a bunch of diff ship accounts bc listen, ship whoever you want, personally I am partial to elucien but I can admit there’s a lot of evidence for other ships as well. I like seeing all art for ALL the ships!! But then today I see a post about how we need Gwyn’s book because she is a victim of SA and it would be great to read a book about her healing journey.
Idk maybe it’s just me but I get annoyed when someone is always reduced down to their SA so I pointed out that Rhys & Lucien also had SA trauma and there has been no healing journey for them?? How are we going to fill an entire book for Gwyn?? Like, Sarah doesn’t seem to delve too much into healing journeys from SA (in ACOTAR at least 🤷🏻‍♀️ idk about other series) and tends to use it as a plot point to create a traumatic background character. It’s something that greatly annoys me tbh
And then I got yelled at?? And told to read the books again?? Like yes, I am a new reader, and yes it was a Gwyn Stan account (didn’t know that at the time, I literally just replied for the first time from a post I saw on my for you feed) - but nothing I said was anti-Gwyn (how could it be- she’s one of my favs too???) ?? I vaguely know there’s whatever ship war going on but I didn’t even comment on a ship post and I didn’t mention any other names/ships so I was genuinely confused about why I got yelled at on a post that only mentioned Gwyn.
All I said was I doubt Sarah is going to write an entire book about Gwyn’s healing journey ? It wasn’t even ship related so why did I get so much hate?? no wonder this fandom is filled with such toxicity, nobody new is allowed to join even casually unless they earn their masters degree of 16000 pages of analysis (apparently reading the books isnt enough?) and so it’s just filled with the same bitter people since whenever these books came out
Maybe bc I acknowledged I didn’t see her as a main character - because she’s not? She’s very much a side character but who cares? She’s still a favorite of mine? Two things can be possible at once, people!!!
Anyways, tldr I got a slap on the wrist and told I don’t know SJM if I think Gwyn is a side character and I’m just like ok I didn’t say she couldn’t be one later but based on the one book she is in… she is a side character?
I hate this mf fandom I should’ve stayed out of it. What did I even do?? I even apologized if anything I said about Rhys or Lucien was untrue?? And now I’m just annoyed because I should still be able to debate theories about my favorite books with people even if I don’t spend 24/7 reading PowerPoints on ship wars??
They got mad because you were right. That's it.
SJM doesn't write post-SA healing journeys. Again, you were right.
We've had male and female characters who were SAed, in TOG, Lysandra and Fenrys come to mind, in ACOTAR it's Rhys and Lucien and Gwyn, in CC it was Lidia (similar situation as Rhys/Lucien).
These aren't books for deep exploration of post-SA healing. I am sorry. This is an incredibly tough subject, without a singular answer. SO anything she'd do, wouldn't be taken well. Some will say 'too quick!' others will say 'not quick enough!' and everyone will have an opinion. The only reason Nesta got an extended healing (and not from SA) was because SJM used the same methods she used for her own issues. Working out, meditation, being with friends, balancing the physical and the mental, relying on her SO. Beyond that, all of SJMs 'healing' is training and being in love. Or nothing at all.
Gwynriels cant accept the fact that Gwyn is a secondary character. She is not more important than Emerie, or Mor, or anyone else, who's had terrible trauma. Her main was Nesta. Nesta's healed and Gwyn is secondary to Nesta. Gwyn's healing journey is over. She because stronger mentally and physically, she trained, she reached and conquered her 'mountain'. and that is all she needed to do.
They dont want to understand and accept that no one is interested in an 800 page of Gwyn's post-SA healing journey. Even they aren't. That's the truth. They want her with Azriel. Getting it on, having sex, being mated. They don't want to read any 'healing journey'. They want her going on missions, swinging her sword, being a badass, being with Azriel, having Gwynriel sex and having a normal fantasy heroine book. it's all performative. They just want Gwynriel. Is all.

Analysis
Tomoko is in a weird place, being an alright Support, but with a niche in increasing the Effect Hit Rate of allies. For the allies, that do care about getting effects inflicted on allies, this can greatly help consistentcy, however, they are also giving up much more pottentially useful support such as Bui's much better Attack buffs and Critical Hit rate boosts, or Leo's Shields. She can still be very useful, she's just a bit more niche than Leo or Bui, who's niches are much more generally useful and applicable to most characters in a way that helps push damage or protecting benchmark, which will be seen as more important and trackable than consistency.
Good Teams to use Kotomo in are:
Kotomo - Riddle - Haru:
A very powerful Mono-Psi team. Kotomo helps Haru inflict her [Special Treatment] on foes, which sets up her gameplan to deal major enemies to foes with her Firearm. She also sets up Sleep, which will further increases Haru's damage due to the foe having a mental abnormality. Riddle's effect resistance debuffs on foe's makes Kotomo and Haru work extremely well together, with Kotomo's Attack buffs and Riddles wide variety of debuffs lets Haru shine. Probably one of her best teams.
Kotomo - Riddle - Closer:
Kotomo buffs up Closer with Attack and Effect Hit increases, while Riddle applys many debuffs on the enemy, including Effect Resistance . This allows her to get off consistently strong damage with her [Conductive] spreading to many foes. May prove frail without a dedicated tank to help them out, or a healer.

On Chuuya’s Gravity Manipulation
So I’ve been thinking about For The Tainted Sorrow instead of studying for my physics exam bc thinking abt gravity is just so much more fun than doing math abt gravity but hear me out.
Since this is obviously a fictional show about dead authors who have nothing to do with gravitational physics, this is all unnecessary; he can kick ass bc he’s cool and we can leave it at that. BUT I'm going to dissect Chuuya’s ability and see what he does to actually manipulate gravity.
Let’s take a look at For The Tainted Sorrow through classical physics first with Newton’s Law of Gravitation. This is the theory I'm most familiar with, although I would like to someday do an analysis through the lens of General Relativity.
Tumblr media
[picture from Kleppner and Kolenkow, Introduction to Mechanics, 3rd Edition]
Basically, the gravitational force that anything can exert on something else is proportional to its mass and varies inversely with the square of the distance, and it is always attractive (towards the force center) Now, Chuuya's ability is to manipulate gravity, so he can change what this force is.
We aren’t given much on the principles of how he changes it so let's say that the general relation remains the same.
Assuming that the general form of the force does not change, he can manipulate the force in different ways
He can change the mass of his own body or the target to increase force.
He can change the distance from his body to the target
He can change the relation from an inverse square law to something else
He can change the value of G (the gravitational constant)
Now,
Mass is a fundamental quantity (for our level of analysis) so I don't think it's practical that Chuuya can manipulate mass
We know that Chuuya's ability has a range and activates on touch so he does not have any control over the distance r
Changing the power of r does not seem to have as strong effects as Chuuya's gravity manipulation shows. Take a look at these graphs
Tumblr media
[graphed on desmos]
We can immediately rule out Graph 3 because we know Chuuya has a range. Graphs 2 and 4 are similar enough to Graph 1 that I think there is not enough cause to take them instead of the standard inverse square law. I will have to do some calculations to understand how gravity would work in these wacky potentials, so that'll be a different post, I guess.
One problem I have with this theory is that Chuuya may appear to have a ranged ability, but as far as I know, it activates on touch (correct me if I'm wrong) so manipulating fields of gravitational potential does not seem to be his modus operandi.
He can change the value of G (the gravitational constant)
Now, this is my pet theory because it explains how Chuuya's ability affects only the objects he chooses to use his ability on instead of a general gravitational field around him.
The gravitational constant is really small in our universe and is restricted to a very narrow range. Any deviation from this will cause a lot of problems for the universe as we know it. But, since Chuuya only affects the gravity of things he touches, I don't think his ability will have any lasting effects. This manipulation of G can directly explain how he dramatically changes the magnitude of the momentum of any object he interacts with.
To see the power of this, let's take our friend g, the acceleration due to gravity.
Tumblr media
[once again from K&K, 3rd]
g here is acceleration, so we can see that changing G even a little can dramatically change how fast things move. Chuuya's ability is best described by flashy movements and incredible speed which can be explained by the change in acceleration of the objects he touches and him using his ability on himself.
One more important thing about Chuuya's ability is that it can affect the direction that gravity is working. The minus sign in front of the force equation at the beginning of this post indicates that gravity is an attractive force i.e. it always works towards the bodies and pulls them together. Except we see Chuuya use gravity as much more than just an attractive force.
He reverses the direction of momentum of bullets in the GSS fight scene in the Fifteen arc.
He regularly walks on walls and ceilings.
He accelerates bullets away from him with his ability in his encounter with the Hunting Dogs.
It would be easy if this was the only thing he could do, as we can amend our argument to include that he can change the sign of G as well to accommodate for this repulsive action.
However, the problem is that his ability does not work only linearly. He can change the trajectories of bullets mid-flight and has a borderline telekinetic level of control of his ability. This cannot be explained with sign changes alone, and there must be something funny going on with the direction vector of the force. I don't think this can be explained with Newtonian Mechanics alone so I am going to shelf this here until I can come up with a different formulation for it.
Of course, none of this applies to Corruption. I think that has to be done exclusively through GenRel so that's a little later on the schedule.

I'm the first anon this anon was referencing.
Anon #2, I want you to close your eyes and imagine something.
There are over six million users on AO3. It's bigger than Aotearoa New Zealand.
So I want you to imagine that it might be possible that someone you think is a bad person (TOG: not my circus, not my clowns, but if this is a person you so clearly disdain, it's a wonder you haven't just blocked them and excised them from your online life), and some other person, who is also one of those six million users, might be having the same kind of problem.
Especially because that problem is "they are annoyed that people don't respect clear boundaries, like blocking on social media or comments turned off on AO3."
So now we ask: is that truly so novel and unheard of a situation that it is at all reasonable for you to posit that 1/6,000,000 people can be experiencing it at the same time?
If you sit and actually think about this for a moment, I'm sure you'll be mildly embarrassed by how fast you just swapped a basic situational analysis in favour of a juicy but highly unlikely scenario wherein everyone experiencing this one problem is "the TOG racefaker's friend (??) who doesn't like OTNF but is sending unrelated messages anonymously to her blog anyway."

question. why is it that people can associate and judge some characters by real world standards (lucien, nesta, potentially every other damn character) that doesn't agree/like/tolerate the ic's and rhysand's actions but also at the same time proceed to judge rhysand and the ic by sjmverse standards and to say 'yeah, it's okay because they're doing to protect their mate and they wear a mask whilst being seen by other characters torturing othera and being cruel''?
as someone who was sa'd and as someone who was seen as of enjoying it per the mouth of the assailant, i genuinely find it disgusting and uncomfy that this fandom can defend rhysand by saying he was doing it to protect feyre and that she enjoyed it. he could and should have left her alone.
and by my analysis and rereading of acotar/tog (just as an example), the sjmverse standards are as of follows;
- sexual assault/harassment. (utm as an example)
- keeping information from the mother of your child that she could die if she was to give birth. it was to protect her? bullshit.
- to lock a mentally struggling and depressed woman into a house with 10,000 steps because you're doing it to protect her. (rhysand and co. to nesta.) whilst also (and rightfully) slandering tamlin for the same to feyre in acomaf. but you won't slander rhysand for doing the same to nesta? hypocrisy whom?
- hitting/abuse. (rowan to aelin into hof.) this is seen as somehow okay because rowan is attractive and celaena said something nasty whilst severely depressed.
- verbal. i'll name some examples; rowan threatening to whip celaena, cassian (one of your favourites) repetitively threatening 'if you don't get off that rock by the end of this week, what happens to you is out of my hands' and emotionally tormenting nesta with 'everybody hates you,' and rhysand threatening to kill nesta.
- war crimes. stealing from the summer court and shapeshifting into its high lord (a dark skinned male). attacking the high lord of autumn and the lady of autumn at the acowar meeting. wrecking a court for revenge whilst on the brink of war (if not a war crime, just a case of wtf). violating the minds of so many people that it is perceived as okay.
and somehow all these (^) things are considered okay and can be excused because it's rhysand and co? however, if nesta was to call a character a mean name she gets wrecked for it? in acosf, she called rhysand a prick and states he isn't her high lord? and my god, the backlash she received from her own mate? you don't even need to be a nesta anti to slander the poor woman.
i did not want to make this post but since we're at the point of sliding into people's inboxes as anons and slandering people, i have made this post and i shall post it.
-zelds. :(
