I love love how Brennan chose to characterize porter where like. He's such an asshole. Such a fucking asshole of a guy and it really sucks to talk to him. And fig hates him so much just as she should. But despite that you can't discount him as some dope know-nothing cause he's got some INCREDIBLE wisdom and (for fig, not really for gorgug) is just a really good teacher. That really horrible experience of showing up to class with a burning hatred for the teacher for being here at all and then leaving knowing that you have just learned some incredibly valuable skills.

#s/o my eighth grade science teacher #she was such a fucking asshole. so incredibly strict. huge hardass. caused unnecessary levels of stress to hundreds of 13 year olds.#but holy shit did she know how to teach. the quality of my notes went through the roof in the course of that class. the following year i #was the top kid in my honors science class. her lesson on writing clear instructions will stick in my head til the day i die #I'm writing computer code now and i know for a fact that my eye for detail comes in part from her #hate that old ghoul. she retired a year after i left and good fucking riddance. unfortunately one of the best teachers in my life #dimension 20 #fantasy high

What’s the most underrated Joe and Ja’Marr moment/story in your opinion!?!

Oh man I’ve been trying to come up with an answer for this and honestly the only thing I can say is all of them!! Every moment!! It’s like that post that went around when Joe wore Ja’Marr’s jersey - if this were happening in the hockey fandom there would be sky writing!! One of the greatest duos in sports and so few people are talking about them!

But I am happy to see the growth in the fandom, even if it’s still small. Because it’s a fun community and I love talking to all of my mutuals about how insane these two are whether in dm’s, through tags, or asks <3 And I’m super excited for the new season to start so we have even more to discuss.

I will say that most of my posts are about how insane Ja’Marr is about Joe, and I do not regret that lmao. But I don’t want people thinking that Joe isn’t just as crazy about Ja’Marr, he just has fewer opportunities to show it, what with how he evades media as much as he can. I mean, again, he wore Ja’Marr’s game worn jeresy to the Saints game. (He made Ja’Marr take it off the wall!!! It probably stank. But he wanted to ‘honor’ Ja’Marr in his hometown. He wanted to pay homage to their 2019 season. Could he have done that wearing his own Burreaux jersey?? Absolutely, but this was just as much about Ja’Marr as it was about anything else). He gave Ja’Marr the game ball from the national championship, when he had every right to keep that for himself. And, this is just a theory, but one I think has strong evidence, the bengals drafted Ja’Marr for Joe. I think if Joe had, very reasonably given the circumstances, asked for them to draft Penei Sewell so he’d have better protection after his knee was completely destroyed during his first season, they would have done so. Instead they got Joe another weapon, and not just any weapon, but his favorite one from college. Ja’Marr talks about how they’d been texting for at least a month before the draft, talking about their plans to reunite, so you know Joe was absolutely involved in the team’s plans.

I went off course here but basically, I think my answer to this is that Joe’s appreciation for Ja’Marr might be a little underrated. (Despite him constantly mentioning Ja’Marr’s talent and intelligence and how good of a person he is whenever he’s asked about him). Ja’Marr’s more explicit about it and for a number of reasons from him being more open to him being asked about Joe more, but I think the level of appreciation is definitely equal between them :)

Do you ever just fuck up your routine so badly you just wanna say fuck it and go back to bed again so you can try again tomorrow?

#song of the day #buckle up babes this one's a nice showcase of how my brain retains memories which is to say it's a long path to a close destination #in early 2011 when Leverage's season three had recently wrapped #one of my friends was writing a character study piece for Eliot with a partial focus on his toxic relationship with Damien Moreau #and they made a writing playlist for the fic that included this song #(and also 'Laughing with a Mouth of Blood' by St Vincent. absolutely killer song)#and I like the song but for whatever reason I never looked up anything else by Billy Talent #(I was at the time not spending so much time looking up new music but more just letting it come to me #in 2017 St Vincent came out with 'Los Ageless' and I was like oh I know her!! and I started paying attention to her albums #which is good because then in 2021 she released the Daddy's Home album which has 'Pay Your Way in Pain' /and/ 'The Melting of the Sun'#which are absolutely incredible tracks and my life would've been less without them)#and then today I saw a Call of Duty post with lyrics from Billy Talent's 'Afraid of Heights'#and I didn't recognize the lyrics so I went and pulled up the song as how I do #and as it played I was like. do I know this? no. I know something like this. what is it?#and at first I was convinced I'd just been listening to it but then why couldn't I place it? and then I realized I hadn't heard it recently #but I had been /thinking/ about something /related/ to it--which I had been. sort of. there's a Damien Moreau post queued for tomorrow--#and then in Afraid of Heights the chorus was wrapping up #'you're the only one I'd follow til the end of time / if we fall we fall together baby don't think twice again'#and something clicked and I dragged 'Diamond on a Landmine' up out of the depths of my various-artists folder #it's a great song got an excellent build to it #'alone at last / I can't wait til we're alone at last / all I wanted was a second chance / a second chance / to hold you in my arms at last #and the visual of 'better watch your step / she's a diamond on a landmine' is fantastic #anyway! I made giant scotch eggs with my family's spicy sausage ball mix instead of the normal breading and they're amazing #a good day #two weeks into May already can you imagine

For the record, in my writing the subtle distinction in attitude between RH!Jason & RH!Steph is the same distinction in attitude between “Watch Me” & “You Were Wrong”. No, I cannot put this into words. No, I am not taking any side or trying to imply anything about either character. That’s just where I personally draw the line.
