Turns out a great deal many of the muggleborns went in the entertainment industry. Character bashing and the redeeming of many along the way. Read how many of our fave characters modernized the world for the better.

I ran out of tags just know that Sandie the little protector is one of the best things about this whole story. I am a little peeved about Luna's intro or lack thereof. She just kinda appeared in the train car as Neville's girlfriend and threw me all off. At least it was explained later how other characters were walking around and not rotting in prison.

“DOWN!”

The coffee shop erupted in crashes and bangs as spells were thrown back and forth and glass shattered.

“Stupify!”

“Shit!”

Rowle threw a spell back at the kids as Antonin ducked and threw himself behind the counter. He stood long enough to throw something back at them, nearly hitting Harry.

“These fucking kids-“ Rowle began as Ron gave him a nasty hit, knocking him into a display cabinet and out cold.

Antonin stood from the counter and aimed for right past Hermione’s head.

“Petrificus Totales!”

In an instant he fell to the ground, eyes wide open and frozen still.

The swinging door to the kitchen opened as the waitress surveyed the scene, horrified.

“Go.” Hermione ordered, “Leave!”

The waitress left through the kitchen in a scurry, and Antonin heard Harry speak up.

“Lock the door- get the lights.”

In an instant the lights were extinguished and he heard the sound of blinds closing.

Shit. he thought. He knew who the kids were, but they had no clue who he was. That was clear. Antonin was frozen- how could he tell them that he’s on their side? That he’s married to someone in the Order? That he’s working undercover?

Footsteps grew closer and broke his train of thought.

“This one’s Rowle... he was in the astronomy tower when Snape killed Dumbledore.”

“This is Dolohov,” Ron spat, “I recognize him from the wanted posters.”

Ron stepped closer to him, and hovered over his immobile state.

“So what we gonna do with you, eh?”

They definitely don’t know.

“Kill us if it was turned around, wouldn’t ya?”

FUCK.

“If we kill them, they’ll know that we were here.”

“Ron...” Hermione interrupted, hoping to change his mind.

“Suppose he did Mad-Eye... how would you feel then?”

Ron turned his head from looking at his friends as the trio looked down upon Antonin, still frozen on the floor.

“It’s better we wipe their memories.” Harry stated.

Thank fuck. I’d rather have no memories than be dead.

“You’re the boss.” Ron said after a moment, stepping over him.

“Hermione,” he said, wiping a bit of blood off her cheek, “you’re the best at spells.”

Ron stepped to the side as Hermione took a few steps closer.

Shit, shit, shit, shit. Antonin thought, This is fucking it.

The young witch raised her wand and Antonin was mentally preparing himself for a life without Doe... again.

“STOP!”

The three jumped at the sudden shout, Antonin would’ve also if given the opportunity.

“Hermione lower your wand...” Remus stated calmly, his wand raised and pointed at her, “lower your wand now.“

Hermione stared at him in disbelief as she slowly lowered her wand.

“Have you three lost your minds?”

The thick Scottish accent echoed off the walls as Marlene bounded towards them.

“About to erase this piece of shit’s mind without a second thought... honestly I thought your memories were better than this!”

“Marlene, please.” Remus exhaled as Marlene pushed past the children towards Antonin.

“Don’t you ‘Marlene please’ me, Mooney,” she scolded, wagging a finger at him, “as if you would’ve liked to been the one to tell Doe that the kids wiped her husband’s memories.”

Hermione’s eyes closed as she remembered the events surrounding Sirius’ death.

“What’re you-“ Ron began.

“Shit, you’re right-“

“Watch your language, Harry!” Marlene scolded.

“-how could we have forgotten that? How could we not remember who is on our side?”

“In your defense, Harry,” Remus said, walking closer to them, “it has been a hell of a time lately, hasn’t it? It’s easy to get caught up in the adrenaline and the fear of a death eater attack.”

While Remus was talking, Marlene muttered the counter curse and Antonin’s body immediately relaxed as he sucked in a breath.

“Merlin, Marlene!” He exclaimed, “You make a counter curse hurt.“

“Be lucky I even considered unfreezing you, you shit.”

She extended her arm to help Antonin sit up and rest his back on the counter. Marlene knelt and pulled him into a tight hug.

Antonin continued to catch his breath as Marlene pulled away, and turned to look at the trio standing sheepishly by the end of the bar.

“You’ve one hell of a form, girl.” He said, pointing to Hermione.

“And you,” pointing at Ron, “you’re a bloody great defense caster.”

Ron awkwardly flashed a smile and shuffled his feet.

Antonin looked to Marlene.

“Doe...“ He said, still trying to catch his breath, “is she- is everything- is the-“

“Everything is fine, Antonin. Everyone is fine and safe... got Amycus keepin’ an eye on her and the little one.”

His eyes closed and he rested his head on the glass at Marlene’s words.

“You said my name, McKinnon,” he chuckled, “didn’t know you were goin’ soft.”

Marlene kicked his leg as she stood and walked back toward Remus.

“How’d you find us, anyway?” Harry asked. “The both of you- how did you know where we were?”

Antonin shook his head, “I just go where I’m told- ‘m sorry Harry.”

“Bold of you to assume I don’t have a personal tracker on all you three, Harry.” Marlene scoffed, “Honestly, sometimes you sound like your da’ askin’ questions like that.”

“We need to leave.“ Remus said, looking at Marlene, “No one must know we were here.”

She nodded.

“Be safe, you three.”

And just as suddenly as they appeared, the pair disapparated.

“Go.” Antonin firmly stated.

The trio looked back at him.

“Go. Now. Before they realize what’s happened.”

And with that, Hermione grabbed both boys by the arm, and they disappeared.

🔒 Where You Belong by @bluestringpudding [Severus Snape, T, 6.1k] 🔒 Creepy, disturbing, may give you nightmares. Would I read it again? HELL YES. In this fic, Severus Snape sees and, yet, doesn't see.

When Severus sees the Marauders acting even more suspiciously than normal, he decides to keep an eye, and a note of what they are up to. But some things are better left unseen.
