Okay hear me out. What if the Falmer were culturally far more similar to the modern day nords rather than the altmer or the ayleids?

Like if the Falmer's culture was a more intense version of what we see of the ancient nords in Skyrim. Because the nords kind of just integrated their own culture into the falmers. Maybe the Falmer were originally far more similar to the vikings and other ancient Scandinavian cultures rather than just being the altmer but pale.

Or maybe even towards the end of their reign they started to shift cultures to a more altmer influenced lifestyle and religion making Auri-el a more prominent God figure in their pantheon. Sort of similar to how Scandinavia got christianised.

It would explain why tensions between the Atmorans and the Falmer suddenly became so high when they were previously living peacefully together.

It would also be fascinating to consider the fact the nords could actually be descendants of both the atmorans and the Falmer. Sort of like the bretons. It's very difficult to completely wipe out an entire country worth of people. And not every Falmer wanted to go underground with most being opposed to the idea. So it would make more sense for those who didn't join the Dwemer for protection to be slowly "integrated" with the atmorans which would explain the entire disappearance of the rest of the Falmer. It also gives the modern day Nords a new context which I really like because its sort of poetic irony the nords themselves would be another small part of what was left of the ancient falmer.

Also there's no way a bunch of people living in freezing cold temperatures aren't going to have beards. Bethesda is lying to me.

Anyways it might not line up with canon but it's an interesting thought. Also brings some funny scenarios to mind.

Fun (not so fun) fact (yes, its worth reading to the end): when I went to the mcr concert last summer I somehow convinced my "old money lana del ray aesthetic" sister to join me in the 8 hour long line of fellow emos. my sister had borrowed my dad's concert pass so that she wouldn't have to pay but there was one crucial problem- my sister is not a 50 year old man like on the photo. this isn't the fun fact tho because the guy lets her pass with nothing more but an amused look. the fun fact comes several months after the fact. because my dad, being the jokester he is, actually picked a picture of him AND his colleague for the concert pass. as faith would have it this is the same colleague who turned out to be an murderer and chopped up another fellow colleague of his. so yeah, a convicted murderer was a essential part of my first mcr concert.

#i mean my dad obviously didnt know the dude was a murderer at the time of taking the picture #technically he wasent even a murderer at the time of the concert (i dont think ?)#but yeah this just occured to me that the random dude on my dads concert pass was the same guy who...#and btw yeah i know i sound very light hearted abt this but my dad was kinda messed up from what happened #we joke abt it bc he is a jokester and laughter is our family's way of dealing with stuff #but it was in all honesty a very horrific situation #dont think ive ever talked abt it on here before but now that the trial is done with i think its chill #ok i looked it up and yeah the murder had NOT taken place before the concert lol #it happened like one or two months after (they couldnt pinpoint it exactly but the dismembered guy was last seen in august)#(and the concert was in june)#not that it makes it better 💀 but i got a little curious #i havent looked into the details of the case that much before tbh #bc its felt a little weird #but yeah isnt that seriously a little crazy ?

Saw people sharing Clangen stories and thought I would contribute with my absolute FAVOURITE pair of cats from the first Clan I ever recorded

So I started with Two apprentices, Dustpaw and Needlepaw. They're the same age, both cute sprites, and Needlepaw is apprenticed to the leader Yarrowstar. Things are decent until they turn 10 moons and a dog breaks into camp, attempts to kill Dustpaw, and then is killed by Needlepaw. And Needlepaw, this absolute Chad, does not die!!! In the same moon, both he and Dustpaw get their warrior names, despite Dustpaw being almost 10 points behind Needlepaw in EXP the prev moon. (Also in this moon, the Deputy Tawnyfur has a fight with Needlepaw about his recklessness, and they got closer afterwards. Important to remember!)

So they get their Warrior names (Needlestrike and Dustwhisper-who is a lonesome personality, btw-, both. So so fitting) and Needlestrike has to stay in the med den for awhile because the dog completely totaled him and he ends up loosing half his face+his vision. But that's okay!! Because he has Dustwhisper with him and they're together!!! So Needlestrike gets better, it's all great!

And then Tawnyfur (Needlestrikes very good friend!!!!) and Dustwhispers former mentor Slatefire both drown in a river. And who gets appointed as Deputy? Needlestrike! So he's doing well, he helps raise the loner kits that the clan brings in, he's a great deputy, and Dustwhisper is getting even closer with him, wonderful! And then he goes and gets his leg caught in a twoleg trap, and THEN his vision stars getting worse. And the whole like 5 moons that he's confined to the medicine den Dustwhisper does not stop thinking about him ONCE. She is there all the time, sharing tongues with him, gathering herbs every Moon rollover, just being the number 1 supportive gf.

Once he's healed (with permenant blindness and a limp), he and Dustwhisper take on apprentices together, named Talonpaw and Snappaw. After a LONG apprentice period (interspersed with camp fires, disease burrows and like. A bunch of other stuff) the two of them finally get together <3 They have kits pretty much straight away, named Robinkit and Nettlekit, who look exactly like Needlestrike. It's adorable seriously.

And then Needlestrike dies eating poisoned prey (along with 6 other clanmates, including Dustwhispers former App Snapjaw) And who becomes deputy in his place? DUSTWHISPER. Who proceeds to get whitecough twice and miss the entirety of her children's apprenticeships because she's sick. And then as soon as she gets out, who's dead? Oh! Yarrowstar! So NOW Duststar is leader, having never wanted to be leader, having lost her husband and having barely any relationship with her children. AND NEEDLESTRIKE ISNT PART OF HER CEREMONY EITHER SHE DOESN'T EVEN SEE HIM IN DEATH.

Duststar makes Needlestrikes only apprentice, Talonbubble, her deputy. They get along relatively well, but Duststar spends her first ten moons as leader grieving, so all of the work is left to Talonbubble who is like. 20 moons. Then Duststar immediately gets redcough, which spreads through the clan and KILLS HER SON NETTLEBURST. For the next 20 odd moons she does not recover, loosing 2 lives to redcough and then yellowcough :'(

The fact that after Needlestrike dies, Duststar is never ever well for more than a few moons. It's like her grief is physically manifesting in her constant boughts of whitecough. (Which is total juxtaposition from Yarrowstar, who didn't mourn when any of his clanmates died, not even Needlestrike, and lost no lives before old age took him.)

I haven't played with this clan in like. Months and might never again but Duststar makes me so miserable I just had to share her. (Hopefully this anon tag isn't taken, using it purely so I can send another ask about Scorchstar the evil girlfalure at another time-🧶)

ive felt this way pretty firmly for over a year now and held off on trying to put it into words that i would be sharing with other people online (lol) but like..... some people really and truly were/are upset that the pandemic is over. like actual overgrown hall monitor ass adults feel/felt bereft of this schtick that they latched onto for reasons that were initially totally morally righteous but quickly became more about being Right and Following the Rules and being a Good Noodle

btw i am saying this as someone who wore a mask indoors pretty regularly as late as like... mid october 2022. and still wear one in public when i have a cough or a cold or something. im not an anti-vaxxer and i do care about public health and other people's wellbeing!

"x number of people are still dying of covid every week" yeah thats bad. its bad when people die of viral diseases for which there are vaccines. herd immunity (the proper meaning of the term) bc of mass vaccination is the ideal. the same applies to the goddamn flu. people die of the flu every year. covid is just part of the array of viral diseases that live among us and arent going anywhere.

what is even your end goal in insisting "this pandemic isnt over!!!!" like what is the Purpose of that? other than to make you feel like a crusader for the public good as you see it and the ONLY ONE who still Actually Cares About People? and not just to feel like that, more importantly to be seen as that.

if you could command society to do exactly what you felt would be right to address this crisis you insist we are still embroiled in, what would you actually have us do? the extended lockdown actually-taken-seriously ship sailed by early fall 2020 tbh. after that point it was always going to be about mitigating the disaster that never had to get that bad but it did.

I'm sure a lot of people will tell you it's mommy-coding Cumulus, which tbh it probably is. (see also: Aether. boy likes to be held too ya know?) But I've seen a lot of people actively pushing against that recently which makes me very happy.

So instead I raise you Confident-Boss-Bitch Cirrus. We've all seen her hyping the crowd behind the keyboard risers like a soccer mom on match day, she OWNS the stage with the keytar solo, and she's pretty much a universal dom in fics.

But, what if she's not the on-stage persona? (We all hc Dew as something other than just angry right?) What if she's actually hiding a deep feeling of needing to hold the pack together and appear in control all the time because of the turbulence around when she first joined the pack? I get strong eldest-daughter vibes.

I hc that she has a soft and vulnerable side the congregation doesn't see, even her pack don't know the full extent of it, only Cumulus does really since they were summoned together. She has insecurities too, just more hidden.

Here is where I tell every fic writer who ever put any time into making the ghoulettes more 3D that I love them will all my heart (your cirrus/mist fic was *chefs kiss* btw!) 🖤

i think y'all hit the nail on the head. honestly speaking i think cirrus is one of the least dynamically written characters in this fandom. 90% of the time she's the mean femme-dom. nothing more. like? thats boring! i like what you've all said about the reason she might put up a stern or stoic front.

but! also! what sage mentioned. while i think she takes performing seriously, she isnt serious in appearance, if that makes sense. she is having fun, jumping around, doing little hand gestures, and bein fuckin sexayyyy on that keytar. she's having fun with it all, performing just like the rest of them. i'll see clips of her and just scream LOOK AT HER GOOO.

and yes, how does that differ from her off-stage personality? i still think she's on the stoic side, like dew. but she isnt, like, apathetic. she's silly, she laughs, she teases, she pines, she fails, she cries. she. fUCKING. BOTTOMS Y'ALL. come on. you can't tell me swiss doesnt run her into the fucking ground sometimes. you cant tell me that lus doesnt absolutely pamper her and eat her out as long as she wants. you cant tell me that dew doesnt take it slow with her, hold her close and warm and let her relax for once.

i would really like to see us dig into her more. what is she really like outside the bedroom, outside of her relationship with cumulus? bc, lets face it, lots of us like to write them as a unit. while they're fucking in love, obviously, i mean come on, cirrus is a person aside from her bond w/lus. what is she like with the others? hell, what is she like when she's alone?

its why i wrote her the way i did in Been Long Enough. i wanna see her stutter, see her 'meet her match' so to say. bc i still think cirrus is very clever, smart. she can still like that dom role every once in a while (again, remember a little dash of these things are fine). but i think she gets tired of it too. she wants to be taken care of, wants to just totally have that control slip out from under her. maybe thats something about her, an anxiety like those of you mentioned that creates a front that isnt really her.

i wanna pick her apart more. @askingforthesun always helps me see the light about her haha. they are very passionate about cirrus and rightfully so, and i always love what they have to say about her.

why am i writing this at 2 am my sleeping schedule is FUCKED

anyways cut off cuz this is.. long erm

anyways so you. you guys know how lico was never taken seriously and so he turned to. black magic n allat SO LIKE if i recall correctly he was first studying to be a wiscard or smth and so. what. what if he WAS taken seriously when he was younger

obviously he would b a wizard and stuff (yahoo! good for him!) BUT i can't help but wonder if he would still act as arrogant and egotistical as he is now... OR wouls he have a change of heart of smth and b the sweetest most kindest person ever.....

i once did make a silly little design of him if he was liek. redeemed or smth idk. how to word it but that deisgn is so old and i. hate it..... so.... i may make a newer deisgn for him and. share it erm

anwyays back to the other topic i personally think that he would..sorta be still the same if he was redeemed. depending on how long he had been recognized for if that makes sense.

IF he was recpgnized from a very young age, then i can imagine hed be somewhat really different to how he acts now.. he'd probably be a lot more thoughtful n considerate with others..

however, IF at first he didn't get any recognition but then had some sort of miracle or smth that eventually GAVE him recognition, he'd probably act a too similar as how he is now. Is it due to a constant need of validation? Possibly. Is it due to jealousy of others? Yeah probably that as well. BUT in the end he would've matured enough and he wouldnt be that worse as his current arrogant self is.. or maybe hed be the same but just keep it in his mind idfk

Okay first option may seem a little out of character of him but like. it sort of make sense at the same time?? like just one tiny thing eventually grew into something bigger and that completely changed his life.

if that small thing (that is his lack of recognition) had been taken care of before it became practically unfixable, lico wouldve 100% have had a complety different life...

or. maybe in the end it all goes downhill and then he becomes the exact way he is now. LMFAO

also btw im not trying to say that his current self is bad, i love his current self dearly, but i genuinely cant help but wonder about how different his life would've been if he had been taken seriously...

speaking of this if he was redeemed n stuff or just. became a wizard or whatrver he was determined to be (im half asleep and relying on my memory cut me some slack plea), i feel like he'd. be great friends with starfruit... no specific reason why i jist. have that feeling..

ik i always leave u asks, im so sorry! but uve just inspired me sm, and i really want to write like u someday. i was wondering what ur advice is on writing summaries for fics? urs are always so beautiful <3

please dont apologize, its very flattering and it means the world that you think that, thank you so much my love <33 and UGH, summaries are so hard i lowkey struggle w them!!! and when im scrolling through fics, i see so many of them like "psa i suck at summaries" so i think its something other writers find hard too. anyways, i normally put my summaries in a format that i find works for me quite well, and i see a bunch of other writers kind of do the same thing, and in my opinion, it leads to a GREAT (or at the very least, decent enough) summary.

here are two of my summaries from my most recent fics:

and as you can see, they both follow the exact same format. a block quote with an excerpt from the story, and a quick synopsis. both of these serve to shove as much detail in as little words as possible, because you want to be concise, but u also want to put a little bit of the story in it. for the synopsis, literally just describe what is happening, and its never a bad idea to let your semantic field reflect the tone of the story!

and for the excerpt: since i tend to write the summary before i start writing the fic, which means it isnt directly taken from anything (bro the spideypool excerpt isnt even in the fic and i lowkey need to change it hahahaha). since all of what i write is romance, i pick a dramatically charged scene between the couple, usually a fight or a confession, and try and make it as self-explanatory as possible, like a microfic in itself.

thats ab all the advice i have for writing summaries! i hope it helps <3 feel free to reach out if you need anything else, please dont hesitate!

(btw, this is a very serious explanation for something you absolutely do not to take seriously. in no way is this mandatory, fanfic is not supposed to feel like work! just because i enjoy doing it this way, doesnt mean its the only correct way. you can write a one-sentence summary, or no summary at all, or anything in between. its a creative endeavor that you are in charge in! above all, have fun!)

do you think its realistically possible to fit anyones ideal type? like not idols but personally I dont think i have ever been anyones type and im not tnat fussed anymore if i dont date i dont date but i do wonder what it would be like from time to time then i think nahhh thats ridiculous never going to happen. so for idols it must be a tad harder for them to find exactly what they want in a person for a partner?

i mean their popularity will help for sure but in terms of actually dating them, having to sign NDA's and try to keep it private must be tough really, its 2024 and idols still cant freely date without backlash or hate of some kind and i have read that bts fs will get more hate than other groups welp. thats why in a lot of ways im glad its not me

in terms of looks or fashion style i think its hard to actuslly find what you like and stick to it without getting bored as well? for instance hongjoong is very very specific on his alternative look and seonghwa seems to like rich classic looks again would be hard to keep up with on a daily basis. idk again aesthetics arent my thing anymore or never something i found appealling. i get every other personn has a particular style but i wouldnt spend so long trying to look good 24/7

i mean for college i once wore the same black trousers all year and my classmate would spend an hour just to get ready, her bag would match her outfit snd her nails would match her hair or makeup and so on. isnt it really too much effort at some point to keep up with it?

i tried makeup but it just makes my skin feel and look more gross. idk i think theres still much pressure to have the right face and body in todays society thus making it harder to actually fit anyones ideal type. i mean even if we say we dont care for latest trends deep down we still do bc its ingrained in society yaknow? its so normalised to want to be pretty rather than to have good personality. sadly most idols are glamorised or sexualised for their body anyway rather than anything else so idk i have mixed feelings on these subjects but its still interesting to discuss esp with idols having such a public image. i mean idols can look good in almost anything if i were their fs id feel insecure honestly bc they are very attractive and talented people.

realistically i think it is possible but only to some degree. for instance one's personality.

i myself have been in a circumstance where someone's personality sounded exactly like my ideal type and my personality sounded like theirs [not a celebrity].

physically might be a bit harder. a specific face is very hard to replicate. i feel for the most part it would be one or the other. but i also feel it can still happen if you are not picky and do not expect a carbon copy.

yes i agree there is a lot of pressure. but for idols it is their job and part of their image. and for others they may simply enjoy it. i know some people that find it to be a hobby. if it is not your thing there is nothing wrong with that. i myself am similar. i very rarely dress up because i am a homebody.

i would keep in mind my readings are never to be taken too seriously [not targeted just a general comment]. but thank you for sharing your thoughts nonetheless. i like a discussion as long as it remains civil.

“hey mandy” ian says leaning on the counter making mandy slightly jump.

“beer?” he responds handing her one.

“got it-” ian cuts himself off making himself yell over mickeys yelling. “mickey what are you on about?” ian exaggeratedly askes.

“or sitting on each other to do the other makeup” ian gives another reason

they keep going one right after another.

“netflix and chill” ian and mickey say tother.

“mandyy” you whine rolling on your side to look at her.

the movie wasnt over yet but you felt like youve been laying there for years, the movie being incredibly boring.

“mhm?” she questions looking down at you.

“how much longer is left of this?” you ask motioning your head to the tv.

“uhg i know its so boring.” she agrees grabbing the remote beside her.

“oh my god” you groan throwing yourself back down on her bed.”thats way to long!”

mandy turns the movie off and looks at you.

“maybe ian and mickey were right.” she unexpectedly says making you shoot your head up.

“huh!?”

“i mean, ive had friends before. best friends too. not alot but ive had them. and ive never done any of the shit that i do with you with them.” she thinks

“dates?” you question kinda curious yourself.

“ive had fucks. but never actually officially dated someone. i dont think ive even done these things with fucks ethier.”

before ethier of you could think anything else you took your hand and held the side of her face. pulling her closer to you, you partly covor her lips with yours. she immediately understands and starts kissing back. unfortunaitley you have to eventually pull away for some air.

“ian!” you yell hopping off her bed.

“was mickey right?” ian responds watching as you joyfully walk out of her room.

“the only time he ever will be right!” you smile

“you wont be saying that when you ask me to help you kill someone.”

you hear mandy come up behind you, the sound of a lighter being heard then a faint sizzle. “seriously mick?”

“i knew it was way to quite for something to not be happening.”
