Today I had the best time volunteering for a teaching project (which is led by our chief vascular surgeon).

That is, apart from the fact that we ran into some of our abdominal surgery attendings, who gave me a massive (verbal) side-eye for technically hanging out with the vascular surgeons in my free time. (Some of them don’t really see eye to eye, both medically and personally).

And I’m soooo sick of it, can’t I just try to figure out what I eventually want to do with my career without having to navigate a social and political minefield?

#yes I am technically an abdominal surgery resident #but since we are a general surgery department we do both thoracics and vascular as well #and both have been pursuing me to switch to their respective subspecialties #it’s putting a lot of stress on me tbh #because there are a lot of expectations #and I’m a stupid little people pleaser and I don’t want to disappoint anyone #and also I get excited by so many things #I get excited by pancreatic surgery as much as aortic surgery #though I’m at a point in my training where I do neither #which is ok btw #but how am I going to figure this out? #especially if everything I dip a toe in one department the other two get offended #and also there are some co-residents who would be very happy to have less competition in their respective fields #so there‘ll always be comments there as well #if anyone has any advice #please let me know #this is stressing me out #(and yes I do realize that this a very first world problem) #it’s still stressing me out though #and there is sooo much to finding a good mentor #I probably overthink this wayyyy to much #but yeah #After two weeks of actual vacation #(like actually being on another continent doing something completely unrelated) #my brain took the first best thing to cling to #sigh #resa rambles #residency #medblr #surgery

So I recently heard Unity and what will happen. It will affect many games. Those that made Cult of the Lamb plan to delete the game January 1 of 2024, so people have time to download it.

Even GlowStick Entertainment plans to delay release and start to remake Super Dark Deception on a different game engine.

I got Pokémon Go and Fate/Grand Order too. Guess what company? You guessed it. Unity!

Geshin Impact will be impacted too.

I am NOT joking around. This is serious business that will change the gaming industry.... probably not in the best way. It is enough to make a game go bankrupt and gone in the blink of an eye. That means I could be playing a game, and some assholes could uninstall/install the game repeatedly and make it go bankrupt because they hate it or some fucking reason.

I certainly hope Nintendo and major companies get their ass handed to them for pulling this shit.

"This is PUMA Korea.

PUMA Korea's position on the accident that occured during NCT 127's commercial filming is as follows.

The members Johnny, Jaehyun, Jungwoo and Taeil had an accident due to a problem that occured with the set structure when NCT 127, who is the PUMA APAC Ambassador, was filming a commercial on December 9th.

Immediately after the accident occured, the three members, Johnny, Jaehyun and Jungwoo were conveyed to a nearby hospital as quickly as possible, and are undergoing tests & detailed examination, & as soon as the detailed examination results are out, they will be conveyed as soon as possible via (NCT 127's) agency SM Entertainment. Fortunately, Taeil sustained minor injuries and in respect of his own wishes, he's resting after returning home.

PUMA Korea feels responsible for this accident and we plan to do out best to find out the cause of it and prevent this from happening again.

We will like to express our apologies for causing concern to the fans and agency SM Entertainment, who must have been surprised at the news of their beloved artistes' accident.

In addition, PUMA Korea will also do our best for the treatment of Johnny, Jaehyun and Jungwoo - the three NCT 127 members who were injured in the accident - and help them recover quickly."

Prep for appointments🌼

I've got a writeup in my notes that I've been working on for my Neurology appointment so I don't forget anything & I really want them to read it or let me read it out before they chip in and interrupt my flow.

It's quite hard seeing all the symptoms I'm dealing with and how they affect me, written across 6000 words, like some sort of sad statistic. Yet if i was reading this about someone else I'd feel so sorry for them & wanna give them a hug. If I was a doctor, I'd definitely want to know what's going on (yet they never seem to?).

I feel that saying all these symptoms out loud, still won't be believed. It's as if the words I say mean something else to them.

A headache means a headache, you'd think. I'm not ready for any second guessing of what I'm going through.

There's about half of me, tingling, worried that the consultant will be dismissive and brush everything off, as has happened many times before. I'm worried about them talking over me, getting stressed that they will mince my words because they think I'm just listing things off a med page to get a specific diagnosis, when no, this is actually happening to me. What if again, I've waited all this time, for nothing?

I'm trying to ask myself what I want and need out of the appointment and whether I directly request something or not, like an EEG or an MRI. (I am sick of going for bloods for the same shit to show up that they never treat, i.e anaemia).

Are they just going to question me if I ask for some sort of intervention, thinking I have no clue what I'm talking about? Again, I've not got the energy to fight this anymore, even though it's for myself. I can't will that energy out of anywhere, it doesn't exist.

The anticipation is stressing me out.
