Grown Apart AU - Musical Style ✨

What is This Feeling from Wicked pretty perfectly encapsulates GA Donnie and Leo's first impressions of each other, so the musical nerd within me couldn't resist doing this (lol).

Context within the plot: After saving Mikey's life (by total coincidence), Donnie manages to infiltrate the Hamato residence as a spy, planning to capture the oozesquitos and hand them over to Big Mama, thus gaining her favor. Leo, however, sees through his act easily and has been keeping an eye on him since he arrived. Due to circumstances outside of their control - i.e. Splinter's decision - the two of them are forced to share a room with each other, which neither party is particularly thrilled about.

Holy cow there’re a lot and I really do mean A LOT of Welcome Home AUs, and more coming too. Not saying it’s a bad thing, but it makes sense considering WH doesn’t have a lot to work with so it leaves tons of room for fans to play around with. I just hope it doesn’t get outta hand like what happened to Undertale with its AUs.

One of my favorite things that happened during my last mage Hawke playthrough was during the final battle against Meredith. Everything's going well. We're kicking her ass, she's got just this much health left, we're so close... but then everyone gets stunned dizzy.

Hawke is stumbling around all confused, seeing stars. The rest of his companions are stunned. I'm annoyed because I just want to end this fight. Don't know how or who did it, probably Meredith, but the situation's dire.

Meredith's standing by herself at the center of the Gallows, shouting nonsense and smugly believing the Maker's going to come down and make her his new bride after she murdered a bunch of innocent people.

Truly, this is the part of the story where Varric says they all thought hope was lost, that in the end, Meredith would pull a fast one on us and claim victory...

Until the REAL hero of dragon age 2 comes storming at her. I don't know why Carver was the only one to not be affected, but he literally jumped out of no where and just started bashing Meredith with his sword while everyone else was too dizzy to do anything until she was dead and the cutscene played.

"Hawke defeated Meredith-" LIES, VARRIC. I know the truth! I was there! Hawke didn't do shit! Carver Hawke was the main character all along! He got shit done and Varric gave Hawke all the credit!

I bring this up because last night I finished my warrior Hawke run and when we got to the fight with Meredith, I kind of hoped the same thing would happen where Bethany dashed in all heroic and got the killing blow on Meredith.

She did not.

She got squished by a statue.

But it's fine, Bethany Hawke was the true main character in my heart.

Forever thinking about the art piece in Don Hertzfeldt's short film World of Tomorrow where a clone of a child is put into a tube in a gallery and you watch him age in real time until he eventually dies at the age of 72 then the exhibit is quietly removed without any notice.

Saltburn was a magnificent film with stunning visuals and a breathtaking score, but I’ve already seen some pearl-clutching about it - so here’s the thing. The only way it could possibly seem as shocking as some people make it out to be is if:

- the viewer has never been on AO3

- the same viewer never read any classic or modern gothic fiction (Wuthering Heights, Carmilla, Phantom of the Opera, Interview With The Vampire)

- the viewer also has never seen Hannibal, Jennifer’s Body, Crimson Peak, Yellowjackets, or really any visual media that draws on gothic and horror traditions

- same unfortunate viewer has never interacted with any kink dynamics in fiction or irl

- AND has never interacted with any vampire media including Twilight, and they’ve never read any fanfiction for vampire media on any site

- this viewer also has never wanted to fuck a single villain ever in their life

- alternatively, the viewer made the mistake of watching it with their family, in which case yeah fair

It really isn’t as fucked up as people try to make it look guys please it is GORGEOUS and dark and passionate and poetic I’m begging you to go see it, like check the warnings but Please don’t let people scare you off
