I love the trope of Eddie knowing he's meant to die in the upside down, i love him being aware of his own doom by the narrative, I eat this shit up everytime but I've been thinking a lot about greek mythology and steddie and what if it was reversed?

What if Eddie, well versed in greek mythology, in the tropes and myths and tragedies looks at the always the hero Steve Harrington and sinks with the impending thought of heros don't get happy ending?

What if Eddie says "we're not heros" and means we're not going to die like ones, he means only heros die

What if Eddie says "Steve" and means please don't be a hero, please don't let it be a tragedy, please be just Steve

What if when the bats come he comes to the realization there needs to be a hero in this story and there needs to be an ending worthy of one and deciding it can't be Steve?

What if his sacrifice is not an impending looming thing on the narrative of his life but a choice? What if- what's then huh?

Kinda got a love/hate relationship with the history of K/S because it's like. Can I please have a queer discussion about this 1960s television show without it being reduced to "shipper discourse". I thought Spock and Kirk were homo long before I knew that their characters spawned a fanfiction counterculture. Kisaki has the kind of genes that doctors giggle about. You have his daughter and she’s got the crease between her eyebrows straight out the womb. He’s whipped from day one and he 100% tries to reason that she- six months old- should have a say in whether or not you should buy a new house. AND ykw? He’s the kind of father who forgets he has a job sometimes because his daughter becomes essentially number one to him. Shuji calls him at 9am after four days of no show no call no text no email like “Will we be seeing you today sir or shall I tell your employees you’re dead?”😭

Now Ken is the hands on daddy’s girl/anything my princess wants/she can do no wrong father. He encourages madness as well and has tried to convince you on numerous occasions that your daughter should be allowed a bike (she’s six) and he should start teaching her to ride from young. Also I have said it multiple times but he’s wearing ribbons whenever she is. He’s twinning with hairstyles, they’re getting mani pedis.
