As usual three songs for three stories/characters/themes below.

First song up is for Abigail Emmet, the mother of Mario, and just as much as a terrifying alien soul-and-meat-eating shapeshifter as he is. She's been around for a while, even hitching with the Van der Linde Gang as the third founding (adult) member, sticking with it until she and Molly got the hell out of there after witnessing the effect Hosea's death had on Dutch and Micah being a rat. Saddening that Abigail outlived Molly (given her alien origins), but she never once stopped thinking fondly about the O'Shea poet, even when raising Mario. This song absolutely details her longing for Molly, while also letting go for the sake of Mario.

Next up, a song for Silva's Hope and maybe a bit of Old Dusk, the two main stories for Silva in Far Cry The Silver Chronicles. I think it just fits the religious themes found in the fics' and the game, but also twisting it to reveal the darker and lighter aspects that not only come off as seductive but reveal what's exactly underneath the surface of the Voice's Prophecy and the Collapse, and whether it's better to choose the safer path and obey the prophecy while risking loss of identity and restricted by extremely controlling expectations that are unrealistic or take the risk and step out of the status quo for the sake of having the freedom to choose and to defy a fate other's push onto themselves and their neighbors, all the while having to contend with the possibility of being lost in the unknown.

And finally something for the antagonists. Ranging from the charming yet arrogant Edward Carmine to the callous and controlling Zachariah from The UnTitledverse. From the hypocritical monster that is Father Adam Omar to the fatalistic pessimism that fuels Paul Yellowjack's miserable self-loathing in Far Cry The Silver Chronicles. From the Court King who wants to conquer his worlds back, to the Director of the Midnight Rise, Sir Enigma Malvolio, who brings despair wherever his expeditions take him throughout Life, Despair & Monsters. From the well-meaning extremist Xiang Ba'al to the Mad God of Carnage himself, Discord in the originals works that will diverge from Wings And Horns. There are many more of interest, but the list is as tall as the rest of my original characters. But one commonality can be found with these characters... a question that evades an answer... will they ever be satisfied after reaching their goals? Or... will they go further until they've crashed and burned?

ALSO! TW: There is brief mention of suicidal idealization in one verse with probably more mature themes hidden in the lyrics. Just putting it out there to be weary listening and reading.

Ok, so, this ask is based on the peacekeepers. How would they do with them being sick? I exclude Makoto from this because we know he overworks himself at times and all.

In addition if it were to be with Swank added to this, you can also take in Kuro (my oc) into the scenario if you like.

Sorry I can’t do OCs… But the Peacekeepers hmm let me see if I can make some stuff up (they’re not my favorite so this may be difficult) And yeah I’ve said plenty on Makoto already I get it xD (he’s my antagonist to target :3c)

Okay here’s what I have come up with~

Yomi Hellsmile:

The Absolute WORST patient.

He will complain CONSTANTLY.

With every sneeze or cough, his entire frame hurts and he curses every single time his head starts pounding

And whats with all these DAMN CHILLS?!

His sickbed is full of tissues and spilled cough syrup. And his blanket is a mess too (don’t ask)

If you take care of him, good luck. Most of the gestures will be refused or thrown back at your face.

Until his fever rises to the point he becomes needy and clingy. But even THEN he’ll still back in forth refusing the caretaking or accepting it. (MAKE UP YOUR MIND)

He hates liquid medicine and will only take pills.

Also he’s a little goldilocks with food and tea. If it’s too hot or cold, he will let you know aggressively. (His tongue is very sensitive)

And he may also deny it entirely and try to keep being a little devil making things hell for everyone, so you gotta drag him to the bed (even if he bites you)

Martina Electro

Being ill is but a minor inconvenience to her.

But how she wishes her beloved Director Yomi would come to care for her…

She’s the type that brushes the illness off continuing to work at times if it isn’t too bad.

She cannot disappoint Yomi after all…

Only to get much worse later.

Thankfully, she does know her limits.

She is fairly good at taking care of herself. (As well as of the other peacekeepers if they falter) She’s usually the one caring for them.

Usually wearing a comfortable robe sitting down with some warm tea and medicine so she can still do, some work. But she makes sure paces herself.

If she sneezes or coughs she tries to be as quiet as possible doing so.

She cannot bear to falter…or Director Yomi would be upset with her. (someone help this poor woman ;-;)

Seth Burroughs

A pure sopping wet cat.

If he’s ill, it’s the most pitiful thing you’ve ever seen.

He’s very prone to asthma attacks and at times the rain isn’t good for his health either.

His unhealthy demeanor really doesn’t help. If he catches even a small cold, it will grow to something FAR worse later

He loses his already barely audible voice and has to communicate with a whiteboard.

He also can have food sensitivity, so if you feed him the wrong thing…it will come back up.

Super frail so make sure to handle him like the delicate flower that he is.

He uses his megaphone to try communicating or calling people to help him or if he needs anything. But sadly, it usually breaks out in a coughing fit.

He’s the most prone to illness out of all of the peacekeepers.

Looking at flowers brings him peace so having a vase at his bedside does make him feel a little better.

Guillaume Hall

She is SUPER needy and whiny about it

And she works Dominic like a DOG to try to meet her every need. (Dominic cannot get sick)

She’s a bratty little princess who wants everything to be done right.

She still has her fortune telling gear at her bed and she still practices it despite her poor state.

Or she opens up her laptop and watches something “fun” to cheer herself up. (Horror movies or killing documentaries)

She always wants to eat something sweet. Sometimes sneaking candy under her bed.

She sleeps with multiple plushies.

Her voice gets super deep if she loses it due to illness.

Sometimes if she has a fever or feels chils, she gets a bit delirious and wants Dominic to come give her snuggles.

Until she falls asleep in his large weapon like arms with a smile on her face.

Swank Castonell

He’s similar to Yomi in being SUPER grumpy about being sick.

Only difference is, he is VERY demanding of whoever tends to him.

Ordering them around and forcing them to use “their” money to get anything rather than his own.

His appetite somehow gets higher when ill, and he craves a LOT more meat and booze than usual

But booze isn’t a good thing to drink when ill, so it has to be kept away from him

But then he yells about it. Until he eventually passes out.

His cigar also has to be confiscated. His cough is bad enough already.

He needs to be watched at all times to make sure his usual habits don’t make things worse for him.

Eventually he’ll conk out. But he needs to be in front of a large screen tv playing the most boring documentary you’ve ever seen.

Anyway. To cut straight to the point, I´m a 26F looking for partners 21+ to write ATLA and LOK-inspired roleplays with! Hi, I really love your Aus a lot, especially the Golden Circus and Jade Monkey, I think the stories are so creative and I have a few questions if you don't mind

1- In golden circus I would like to know if you intend to explore more of this story, like what is this circus and who is managing it, and also if it have other attractions (trapped creatures) or employees because in one of your drawings there was someone with wukong besides from macaque and I thought it was nesha so I would really like to know more about

2- Another thing that I wonder a lot if you intend to explore the past for example how macaque got trapped in the painting and was "found" or maybe bought by the circus but mainly how the circus managed to capture a creature as powerful as wukong, I would love to know more about that like flashbacks or something

3- i would like to know if wukong has any side effects because of these forced power drains, like memory loss or behavior change or something and also if the blush only drains the power or if it also has the spell on it

4- And lastly because i think i get pretty big already kk (sorry about that) , just a complete answer to the question above, if the wukong ever tried to run away from the circus and was stopped by the spell or the power drain, or if he was so weak that he didn't even think about that possibility

Hey there! I do plan on fleshing out the au more! (Except for Jade Monkey, I'm currently breaking down and rebuilding that one)

1: My current issue is currently figuring out who I want to be behind the circus because I already have different roles for all of the previous antagonists. I'm hoping the special will introduce more characters and help with that but I was also considering making and oc to take that place but I'm just concerned they won't be that good.

2: Yes there are plenty more attractions including Red Son, Nezha, Yin+Jin, Spider Queen, Peng, Wukong, and Macaque.

3: I do plan to cover how Wukong and Macaque were covered I just need to finish a drawing for Macaque before I post it. As for Wukong, covering his is a little difficult because I need to figure out who I want the main antagonist for the au before I can post it.

4: It's a spell that drains Wukong's powers. The fillet is used as a form of punishment for him (and sometimes Nezha but I'll get into that later.) The only affect to the spell is that all of Wukongs energy is drained along with his powers to the point that he can't function without someone by his side depending on when the spell was last used.

5: Wukong has considered running away but never actually attempted it. He's being pretty heavily manipulated and considers one of his captors as a parental figure.

Sorry I know I didn't provide a drawing this time around but I figured I'd give you all something since I know a few of you are waiting for it.

I actual havnt shown any of my OCs yet, so I didn't expect any one to ask. Oh the horror, now I'm forced to talk about my OCs what a terrible fate!/s

Ok so here is Grelock Moorelis, for the first time seeing the light of day!

29. General description

Grelock, named after the main antagonist of Grognak the barbarian, is an eccentric young woman (she/her). She was raised by her equally eccentric adoptive ghoul uncle Moorelis, the original writer of ‘Grognak the barbarian’ (before he got sacked). They somewhat recently (Fo4 timeline) have migrated from the west and taken an impermanent occupation in Goodneighbour. By nature, like Moorelis, she's a scavenger. Grelock wears plenty of pouches and satchels to stow things away. Her uncle used to cherish his long back length hair, and somewhat lives through her by insisting Grelock keeps it long despite the inconvenience of the wasteland. And she always keeps her hair in two tight braids, courtesy of Moorelis.

8. Do they like robots?

Growing up, she’d seen the bigotry towards ghouls through her uncle. Not just ghouls, but anything that isn't human. A particularly traumatizing event; a group of muscle tracked her and her uncle down when she was a kid and gave moorelis the smack down just for walking through a place ‘he wasn’t supposed to be’. because of that she's someone that's most always going to align more with non-humans. 

But, beyond that; robots are sick! a whole being- a person! Made of bolts and doo-hickies, so cool. And so much easier to relate to? she can't quite put her finger on it, but robots are just easier to talk to.

15. What are thier vices?

Grelock has a very strange and inconsistent moral compass. She has her own paranoid moral rule set that mostly keeps her in check. eg; Theft is only wrong if she's seen somebody use it or talk about needing it- otherwise it's cool. She has a difficult time telling right from wrong. And generally let things slide with a friend because they are friends (this includes maybe cold blooded murder lol). The only thing that is definitively bad in her mind is cannibalism. she wouldn't resort to it even if she was on the very edge of starvation.

She'd never ever touch chems. Moorelis beat that into her head pretty early on; drugs r bad!! She's paranoid that somehow the moment she’d even think about taking a hit, her uncle would receive a psychic message from god and disown her. Although, she doesn't really care when other people are users, it's super just-her-thing.

Final tid bits, tends to vandalize and blow things up. says it's her 'art'. Grelock doesn't drink often because it's expensive (any expense is expensive to her lol), but when she does there is no moderation- she cannot control herself. Alcohol also makes her create more ‘art’.

Alright, Righteous Flames! Now I'll answer four questions!

In case of pandoms wondering what you see a user with a cat profile popping a post. Who am I, you ask? I am GrayZeppelin, fanfiction author of my magnum opus series, Kung Fu Panda: The Mightiest Warriors.

#3 Biggest self-insert OCs?

So far, I have no self-insert OCs, which to be honest, writing a character of myself seems to be odd. So. . . I am not crazy about self-insert OCs. I read a few fics (not from KFP) that have character names of their own, the color of their hair, eyes, etc. I used to like their self-insert fics (well, I moved on from that).

#4 What kind of musics do your OCs listen to?

As I remember most kinds of music I jam with, there's plenty that involves my characters' fit in and their liking.

For instance, my boy Chen Xing has his favorite words while thrusting his six-inch punch at bandits. Compare the Dragon Warrior's shout "Skadoosh!", inspired by a song from a heavy metal band System of a Down, Xing roars "Chop Suey!"

Here's another song that matches my latest antagonist character Wang, when he was a victim of domestic abuse by his father Le (a douche) who forced his son to be more formidable. Most lyrics from the song Bohemian Rapsody from Queen fit Wang's perspective, despite being broken, loved his mother, hated his father, refused to be in sympathy, and many hated him (but his brothers from Lu Academy loved him). I don't know how I found out about his background story, but this music inspires many.

#5 What are some of your OC's biggest fears?

Very good question!

Since I have like a million OCs (not really, around 100 OCs and more) to look at their biography, I'll stick with one who has had his greatest fear ever since he fled from his old home.

Chen Xing hated fire. Not necessarily, but he reflected on a tragic event that caused the death of his parents. While carried by his grandmother Ming, sprinted into the forest, his mother was silenced by an arrow, and his father was burned alive. Xing remembers every moment that he wished to seek vengeance against his old enemy (Prince Huoju), who murdered his parents right in front of him, standing behind the fire.

But that's not all what he can prevent the other fear, he worries.

As the alpha and leader, Chen Xing makes sure none of his brothers and sisters of the Nine face jeopardies during their missions to end tyrannies. I have been thinking about making a fic that will change them before my first book A New Prophecy, what they experienced from their first mission, the Nine will never forget. (Hajin Province)

#7. What are your favorite relationships between your OCs (romantic or platonic)?

Yes! Yes!! A million times yes!

My favorite platonic relationship is between my characters Xing and his wolf sister Lotus. A brother and sister fond, raised together with their peacock brother Lao / Lord Dongji. The wolf and tiger are not together in romance, but they stick as best friends. What started their friendship, Xing and his grandmother found Lotus at Bao Gu Orphanage after their sow neighbor Mrs. Yan caught her eye on a lone cub with the caretaker.

Considering nightmares that Xing sees fire and unfortunate events in his dreams, his sister is always there to sleep with him, giving her brother much comfort as long as Xing wishes. Lotus, known as the Nine's Dancer, who craves dancing and fighting with ribbons, is a dreamcatcher. Chen Xing's soulmate.

     some have definitely changed more than others through roleplay, & the use of a single verse has helped A LOT, too. it has allowed me to develop them throughout a single timeline & take notice of all these changes in their personalities, perspectives, etc.

     han, for example, became more goal oriented. back when i first started writing him, my interactions were similar in nature, with me playing the role of him working as a host at stardust, which allowed more romantic, or sexual interactions. at some point, it became tiring to do the same thing, & since i started to focus on different kinds of interactions ( possible friendships, alliances, potential enemies... ), his character feels more complete to me. keeping most interactions within a single verse has also emphasized this idea i had of him being a charmer, someone that plenty of people could look up to, or admire. it makes his portrayal more impactful imo, just having different characters know of him & hold similar views.

       another character who has gone through great changes, has been rei. she was supposed to be my timid, misguided girl. quiet, serious... & SHE IS, but in a different way. my interactions with @badheart​ ( shoutout for influencing all my muses ) definitely helped me in developing her by giving her friendships, a relationship which it’s something she’s new at, & plenty of potential through things that had been discussed ooc. there are more nuisances to her character now, with a grey morality & some conflict within herself, as she learns to let others near. she’s more affectionate, assertive at times ( it’s a work in progress ), bolder ( also a work in progress ), & overall more welcoming than what her character was supposed to be. she was just an oc i created because i wanted to have a translator ; thinking of her as someone work-oriented, with not much of a social life, but now i have all these great & sometimes wholesome interactions with her.  she allows me to explore a different kind of character, with her being a regular civilian dealing with day-to-day issues that are more relatable (misogyny, harassment, etc. ).

      this one comes to mind due to my recent use of his character, & that’s mako. he was supposed to be more antagonistic, starting as a simple oc that could potentially start something with someone by putting them down, bully them & such. egotistic, selfish. someone you’d want to punch in the face, pretty much. in the end, he turned to be far more charming than i’d expected. his character isn’t just this antagonist anymore, & by giving him more of a background, it has allowed me to show different sides of him. sure, he’s still full of himself & such, but mako is different depending on who you ask. someone like sunny would tell you he’s a prick ( & even their relationship changed over time, becoming less hostile & more like banter between siblings that don’t get along ), while someone like vivian ( @unladielike ) or futaba ( @badheart​ ) would tell you he can be quite sweet. 

     even ji-eun has gone through some changes, with him being more than this disturbed weird guy, which feels like such a popular trope on tumblr. his relationship with fang (@badheart) made me realize that he can be immature as well, & have moments in which he could be oddly considerate or ‘ cute ‘. meanwhile, he still carries that dangerous aura, which is something that bora (@badheart) has picked on. i had no major plans for him, even thinking that he could die at some point, but now i’m eager to push his character further & explore him a bit more with the relationships that i have planned for him; with his half-brother ( pretend im tagging snow again ) having some relevance.

             i feel i could go on, but it would take so long. most of my interactions carried within my main verse has had some impact on my muses, but as anyone could be able to see just by looking at my blog, i’m lucky enough to have a partner that indulges me & helps them grow, just as i hope to provide the same 😌

A Few Upcoming Fics/OCs

Just so you all know, I wanted to create a little list of planned stories I have for “Twisted Wonderland,” which will introduce various OCs of mine. Keep in mind, these are not the ONLY TW stories I have in my head or plan to do in the near future, there are plenty more. These are specifically the “Chapter Stories” - similar in structure to things like “Friends in High Places” and “The Sinister Serpent” - which are made in a formula similar to the way chapters in the Main Story work. This is the order in which those stories will be published, and which OCs they will feature or introduce. “The Scarlet Pirate” - Chapter Story for James Killian and Smitty McCarthy (based on Captain Hook and Mr. Smee). Features Nakoda Spivak as a major supporting character. “Belly of the Whale” - Chapter Story for Maelstrom Baleno (based on Monstro); features James and Smitty as supporting players. “Defying Gravity” - Chapter Story for Theodore Hamilton (based on the Wicked Witch of the West); currently planned to feature Billy Geant as a supporting player. (I have not decided on what to do with Maelstrom as potential supporting player yet.) “Heart of Stone” - Chapter Story for Grit Gravelle (based on the Nome King); features Theo as a supporting player.  Sometime before “Defying Gravity,” I also plan to write a short story called “No Good Deeds.” This will be a sort of “Vignette” story, set during Beanfest (taking place at the same time as an earlier piece of mine, “Of Pirates and Monsters”), which will introduce both Theodore and Grit. I ALSO have plans for at least two “Event Stories,” at least one of which will likely feature at least one of my OCs. However, when these get published is entirely up in the air. One will be based around a racing-type event, with different students from Night Raven having control over different vehicles, inspired by a combo of the obscure live-action movie “Midnight Madness,” and the non-Disney cartoon series “Wacky Races.” (Might throw a little reference to “Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride” in there, too, we’ll see.) The title for this concept is still pending. At the moment, this Event will not likely feature any OCs. The other will be a St. Patrick’s Day special Event, which I currently plan to entitle “Wearing of the Green.” It is inspired by the movie “Darby O’Gill and the Little People,” and will feature a new OC antagonist: Bannor O’Brien, based on King Brian Connors from the source film. The only certainty aside from that with the story is that Malleus will play a major role; I may or may not include at least one of my OCs in the piece. If I do, I don’t know who it will be or what role they will play. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS: I have no idea when I will actually be able to properly work on, let alone complete, ANY of these projects. It could be a couple of months, it could be a whole year or more. Just know they are ideas in the works, and that this is the basic order in which my current OCs of note will be introduced. And again, also remember that there will definitely be other stories in-between things, of one sort or another. Just be aware that these are plans and OCs in the making. :)

Has there ever been any particular members/idols from anywhere amongst the fie-extended multiverse that you have chosen or depicted as villains in any potential wips/fics cause I have the hardest time choosing members (even if just hypothetically) to be the bad guy.

I think the only time I've done so was with The King in Against the Tide because even tho he's [redacted], he still has Hongjoong’s face. Other than him, I've had Hyuna be an antagonist, Yuta (and Suzuka and Moa) as well and i think??? Thats it?? And now technically Wooyoung. But with everyone here sans The King, their behavior is usually seeped in trying to help the protagonist so its less villain and more well-meaning antagonist

Tbh i have,,,,plenty of idols i could type cast as the villian in my works. Theres no shortage of idols we've found have genuinely been bad people but in order to save me the bullshit of having to fight someone in the parkinglot, i usually stick to making my villains OCs (Bella Rose, Emelia, Zafer, Mr. Kim Sr in Night Shift-) or in AtT's case, gods/monsters (The King, Pricilla/Scylla, Charlotte/Charybdis, etc). Its a lot easier to do it that way too, imo. I dont have to worry about someone's preexisting feelings towards this character outside of the world, I make folks hate them for the reasons they should be hated for in verse

cracks knuckles, TYSM FOR ENABLING ME! I have a whole lotta ocs so I think for this ask I'll just pick a few so I don't write a whole novel at once! A few pirates of mine! If anyone wants a wizard post of the same nature... (;

Let's start with my love my light my darling, Desiderius Calamitas! My resident musketeer. This guy.

Desi is, in a sense, my 'main' pirate! This is The Pirate! Born and raised in Monquista, he had it pretty rough being a non-native and dealing with Monquista's... shall we say exclusionary tendencies. Being a gorgon and growing up to feel ashamed of it and hide this at ALL times, along with being treated like some dangerous feral beast, Desi left the instant he could. Which was when he turned 18 and hijacked a pirate ship, effectively coercing the crew into handing over power as a trade-off for saving them from a close call with the Armada. He's a megalomaniac, it's true. With a love for all things bright and sparkly and pink and oh, he just wants to be a pirate yk?? He takes over as Captain to a reluctant crew and ends up slowly becoming a very infamous and wanted figure. Because he's a menace to society<3! A smart chessmaster, but naive and vain and the holder of a megalomaniac complex. Lovely little man. He wants to take over Monquista someday, but for now? He will happily settle for having the highest bounty possible by the Armada (and trying to figure out how guns work haha help he's never done this before).

MOVING ON! To one of his crewmates! Marion Merripen! (Desi's boyfriend cough cough) Who is the crew "witchdoctor", though in reality? He's a necromancer with a hatred of his own magic and is far more inclined to act as the crew's medic. Having been raised for a time by a Marleybonian doctor, he has medical knowledge and is in charge of keeping everyone else in one piece... mostly. Though he's been a pirate for longer, he doesn't seem all that interested in fame or fortune. Rather it's just... what he knows, after being picked up as a younger teen for the crew to get him away from Marleybone. Why away from Marleybone, besides it being hell on earth? Marion is a fae! Specifically, the son of a faerie and a merrow, a hybrid who can't help but stand out and... does not bode well with worlds like MB who can't hide their judgements. So he became a pirate instead. It was a nice outlet for his INTENSE repressed anger! He's a very grumpy fella, but he has plenty of reason to be, even if he's a touch too rough and mean at times. So a vulgar and fairly mean goth who's also in charge of patching ya up after ya get stabbed on the job for the millionth time, good luck!! And how about the starter antagonist, General Achille, (Desi's other boyfriend cough cough) someone who Desi and co. assume is a member of Kane's court. A 7ft tall battle angel General, who, after one too many disturbances, is tasked with finding and capturing Desi and his crew. Or killin him. Whichever comes first, the Armada isn't picky. Achille opts for the second option more often than not. There's a few issues though. Issue number one is that Desi is IMMEDIATELY taken by the sight of him, falling head over heels for the person trying to murder him weekly and finding him to just be the most radiant man to ever walk the Spiral. Achille has no fucking clue what any of that means, but over time Desi's weird reactions and constant flirting strike up a bit of, gasp, fondness?? Perhaps? And he starts to look forward to their encounters a bit, perhaps. Maybe. The other issue is that Achille is... not a clockwork, not that this is common knowledge. The crew doesn't have time to think about this while he's trying to slice them in half. But raised under the 'care' of the Armada since he was terribly young (after he lost his mother, three guesses as to how), he was taken in as a pet project. His sun magic being seen as a potential weapon to be wielded. Essentially brainwashing him for his entire life to be the perfect solider and question no orders, to not think for himself. But no one knows this. Not even Achille, having fallen so deep into the trance that he truly sees himself as a machine and needs to work to regain his humanity. Woo! After all, those clockwork wings attached to his back sure speak another story, huh?

I want to hear you open that can of worms titled “giving a feminine character is easily conflated with making a Mary Sue”, actually.

I'm assuming this ask MUST be in referral to something I've said before but I honestly cannot for the life of me remember so I was confused for a sec ngl 😭 but I'm just going to assume that I did say that at some point LMAO

But anyways yeah since u asked and got me thinking about this again: (tw for misogyny and also some transphobia, I am going off of my own lived experiences here) and an apology for this being longer than I intended

I'd also like to preface this by pointing out that everything I'm about to talk about here disproportionately targets characters of color, because it's important to keep that in mind as well rather than have me tack it on at the end as an afterthought.

I've definitely talked ab this with my friend before, that I usually struggle with making feminine characters and making them interesting when I do, bc I feel like having any kind of female-read oc is just opening them up to unfair criticism when their cis male counterparts are typically woobified or somehow exempt from scrutiny bc their would-be power imbalance "makes sense with the lore" (because male power in fiction isn't seen as a "power fantasy" by the audience, it's a reality that exists without question 🙄 whereas female-read characters need to justify their power in the narrative at literally Every Point of their character)

And I'm using the term "female-read" here bc masculine/butch female characters definitely are subject to this same flavor of misogyny in fandom but I've also had this happen to me irl with my femme-leaning nonbinary ocs, as well as transmasc ocs who immediately lost their Male Woobification Pass™️from people upon finding out they were afab 🙄🙄 (I'll go into this more later)

It's a very interesting (derogatory) double-edged sword when you think about it. Female-read characters that are devoid of all individualizing personality traits, abilities, and non-generic backstory/narrative ties are often made in an attempt to make them "likeable" to a misogynistic audience but it backfires because you've created a character with 0 nuance or depth, which the same audience now hates or considers useless/annoying at best. But if you dare to go beyond that and give a female character realistic flaws, emotional variance, or god forbid-- any kind of power that disrupts the male character hierarchy, (aka not making them an invisible background character with 0 influence on the narrative or other characters) everyone is going to hate them because people are always going to see female-read characters as women first before they perceive them as people, which removes the audience's ability to comprehend character flaws as a realistic portrayal of the natural human psyche and not like... someone having a Category 5 Woman Moment ™️

There are plenty of examples of this in existing fandoms. I'll use Dragon Age as an example simply bc it's familiar to me, but this phenomenon can be observed in just about every fandom that exists.

Even in a world where the protagonists are literally heroes and gods with magic powers, the female characters are the ones that get raked over the coals by the audience the most for daring to be equal to their male counterparts. Merrill is demonized for her status as a Blood Mage and treated by fandom as an ignorant & selfish child who deserved to be ousted by her clan for preserving a piece of her peoples' culture (the Eluvian) which got people killed, but Solas is perfectly justified in any wrongdoing despite him approving the use of blood magic and getting people killed to preserve the culture of his people-- not the elves, no-- but his people, who are long gone in modern-day Thedas. Sera is one of the most hated characters by fandom because of her attitude towards other elves, but Solas gets a free pass in being actively hostile to the dalish & antagonistic towards a dalish inquisitor (I'll never forgive bioware for retconning the dalish being kind to alienage/city elves and offering them refuge in an attempt to make them "morally grey" btw!!! but I digress) because they hurt his feelings :( I guess. (and this is in no way meant to be a "I hate solas" statement, this is a criticism I am bringing forward from observing the dragon age fandom under a microscope for years, I am ambivalent about solas at worst & appreciate that he is flawed in his own regard bc it adds Flavor ™️ to the chili pot)

Ergo, a female-read character with any kind of power or personhood will be seen as one (or all) of the following by fandom:

an "unrealistic" mary sue if they're good at anything or otherwise have power that challenges the established male hierarchy

a "badly written" mary sue if they're important to the overarching narrative in any way or makes big story decisions on her own (liara, morrigan, leliana, etc)

a literal child (ifantilization) for questioning authority, a male character, or having an in-character opinion based on their own knowledge/experience of a subject that is divergent from what the audience is told

selfish for having any personal goals/desires, double points if they're willing to sacrifice others' well-being to achieve those goals

mean/bitchy/literally Evil if they have any kind of demeanor that isn't bubbly submissive wifey or are antagonistic towards anyone for any reason

annoying if they ARE a bubbly submissive wifey character

deserving of any and all misery/death because they got in the way of a male character

an irredeemable abuser if they do anything "problematic"

"innocent and could never do anything wrong" if they are agreeable, which often goes hand in hand with their achievements, abilities, or personal goals being invalidated or "out of character"

the Mommy ™️ if they're over 30

boring if none of the above applies

and the list goes on

So yeah, to circle back to the thing I said about how it's hard for me to make good, deep, nuanced female characters sometimes.... there isn't a lot of leeway in terms of what traits a female character can actually have without having their entire character torn to shreds from a biased misogynistic standpoint. And people probably think "well that's stupid, YOU wrote the character, you can't blame your own crappy ocs on fandom or works of fiction!!" Which leads to my next point:

I feel like for a lot of women, people who spent any portion of their lives as women, or people who otherwise identify as woman-adjacent, we grow up seeing these biases in fiction and internalize them. People attach themselves more to male characters because they are better written, fully fleshed out people with the ability to be flawed, nuanced, or even outright despicable within the narrative, which is something that is hardly ever afforded to female characters, let alone any character that a reader/watcher/player/etc may perceive as female regardless of their identity. We are fed these biases from the beginning and some people may have an easier time than others unlearning them, or we've been the subject of hate and harassment for going against them in the past.

For example, in a toxic dnd group I was a part of, I played 3 different characters over the scope of the campaign, all of which were treated very differently by the players both in and out of character:

Meridan, my cis male half-orc warlock, who was very muscular and masc. He was immediately well-received by the group without much work on my part, commended for his bad behavior when he went through an alignment change from Chaotic Good to Lawful Evil, and was allowed to have all kinds of buffs and powers because.... ? He even killed important NPCs over ideological differences and people, including the DM, gave him a thumbs up. (and yes I asked permission to do these things, I promise I'm not one of those players)

Ozoka, my trans male half-orc wizard, who was well perceived until I identified him as trans and made that a significant part of his character, after which he was disliked by the group because he was "too much of a protagonist" for having his own unique role to play and being Lawful Good (I even discovered other people in the group were saying they hated him behind my back) despite him being the only character in the campaign who was outwardly nice to everyone, unlike Meridan, who was known for being antagonistic.

Cairne, my transfem nonbinary tiefling druid, who transitioned during the campaign and was previously perceived as an androgynous-leaning cis male. Everyone ADORED her until I decided to trans her gender, after which she was demonized and questioned constantly despite nothing else about her having changed in terms of ability, alignment, personality, etc. Some people in the group were even vocally against her transition, saying they "personally didn't see it" and that my affirming Cairne as feminine was "out of character" FOR MY OWN DAMB CHARACTER !!!!

And these are just RECENT experiences for me. Back when I was a youngin' on the internet I primarily made female ocs and shipped them with canon characters, and those ocs often got torn to shreds for being "mary sues" in roleplay circles or otherwise just ppl commenting on my art/oc pages lmfao. I internalized a lot of that shit and just... stopped making female characters, and I carried a loooooot of internalized misogyny with me over the years that I am STILL unpacking as a grown adult, it's influenced my gender dysphoria and how I interact with the world and I am still learning and growing. I've even noticed that in the present my male characters tend to get more attention than my fem-leaning ones. My art of my male characters gets more notes on here & people hardly ask me about my ocs at all but when they do it's always about the men. Which I don't mind because I like talking about my ocs regardless, but one of my most interesting & beloved characters is femme-presenting nonbinary and everybody always forgets about her 😭 c'est la vie

Anyways thanks for coming to my long fucking ted talk... giving a kiss on the forehead 2 anyone who read this far, and as a closing statement I will say I think it's important that everyone has at least 1 female blorbo or oc that they rotate in their brains and allow to be a little (or a lot) fucked up, it adds diversity to the enclosure and prevents you from trapping yourself within the confines of your own biases, which is an inherent side effect of living in a world built on misogyny. 🕺

Kalarros: he's not easy to fluster tbh, though funny enough Skaia came closest (with his admittedly in-character casual "hey want to bang some time" apropos of nothing) purely because Kalarros wasn't expecting it at all.

Khatte: I mean as we all know, Khatte is a gremlin with no shame, but he has no idea how to deal with praise. you have to kinda knock down some barriers first because otherwise he'll just dismiss it and get annoyed but if he's actually in the mood to be receptive, that will definitely do it.

💐 : What is their courting style? How would they woo someone?

Kalarros: he's not one to dance around and he'll be upfront about what he wants, but he's learned not to be blunt or pushy about it. he leans in a more traditional direction when it comes to courting, which could be because the two primary relationships he got into in his youth were an arranged marriage to a woman he met twice prior and Malavai Quinn, so that was what worked. he'll offer a gift or two if he feels it's appropriate, nothing uncomfortably extravagant but he's not lacking for disposable income, so generally small things that are high quality and personal to whoever they're for. at the moment though, he's very content with the relationships he's got. Malavai, Sylvas, and Khatte are plenty to keep up with, and have pretty much all he'd want out of a long-term partner between them. He's not opposed to one-off or occasional meetups with others, but he doesn't usually seek them out and just lets people come to him if they're interested.

Khatte: "courting" is way too generous a term for anything Khatte does, as per the previous statement that he's a gremlin. to be fair, he's perfectly capable of it, and has done so on more than one occasion for ImpInt work (and in that case he mainly does a lot of listening, tells them everything they want to hear, and pretends to be vulnerable with them to build up an illusion of trust and intimacy; he's disturbingly good at it), he just... doesn't. he prefers to act like a menace until he finds someone down for antagonistic sex and goes from there while spitting in the face of the general concept of safe, sane, and consensual. every actual relationship he's in happened by accident. once he's in said relationship is another matter, he's got a very acts-of-service-oriented love language and likes doing small, meaningful things for people. sometimes that thing is "being the reason that someone causing problems for his loved one recently died under mysterious circumstances" but still, it counts.

THERES 3 MORE who are part of the main cast (old art incoming im so sorry):

Roller Babe or Babe for short is one of the 5 central characters of Misc! A genius STEM drop-out, she instead pursued her passion in fitness- specifically roller skating, taking a huge part in the local roller derby scene. When she isn't living her best life, she's often doing tech jobs for the rest of the gang. She's responsible for a fully functional cloning machine, a multi-dimensional wifi network signal adapter, and plenty of other incredibly complicated doo-dads. Out of everyone, her and Pa are the closest. When I draw her, her lipstick color and scrunchy color are always the same! The song I associate her with the most is MGMT - She Works Out Too Much

Kip Biggs is the second one in line and is a retired stuntman dragged into his neighbors' antics out of sheer boredom. He's an underground legend in the industry for doing deadly stunts and living to make it on the big screen. Retiring after the loss of his wife, he spends his time doing menial hobbies at home when he's not being bothered by the 3 other tenants on his apartment floor. He's often working with Pa on more physical tasks and is the same height as Babe! He's closest to Bird, however reluctantly. He's known to be rarely injured and tends to recover faster than whats considered normal. His eye shape is the only one that doesn't have points, which is an oval!

Bird is the last member of the gang and the most absurd. An estranged heir to a fortune held by a family of a secret society of magicians, (they use actual magic I swear-) he's often butting in on others' business thus getting him wrapped up in whatever Cony, Pa, and the others happen to be doing. He's very blunt and aggressive however pathetic and often the punchline of jokes. He was a vampire once but he got better. He has a younger brother who is also present in the story, who takes his identity on behalf of the antagonist. He died but also got better. I think. He's my OC with the most memes made from him and is the punching bag both for me and everyone in the story. He has an entire spotify playlist and his best meme is Bird Swolo

Pirate AU for Lego Monkie Kid

Gonna start dropping info for my LMK AUs that I’m working on writing for, starting with my pirate au first. This is inspired by another creator on the fandom, my general love for pirate stuff and my love for one piece ^^ 

This fic/au will include shipping and oc/insertxcanon, mildly dark themes, strong language and varying levels of violence. 

This was inspired by The Flowering Fruit on AO3, written by Baykit, and is my own take on a Pirate AU. I also took some inspiration from One Piece as well, so I’ve settled on there being like a government set up, headed by the Jade Emperor and of course some of the other immortals and such will make appearances as officials. Demons and celestials and immortals are all still technically what they are but I’m gonna make some small adjustments to how powers and stuff work.

Wukong, Macaque, Sandy and Pigsy were a rowdy, troublemaking pirate crew and end up caught by the Emperor’s marine force. They get the choice of going to prison or, as it happens, the Emperor is in need of someone to escort one of his top scholars, Tang Sanzang, to collect important historical scrolls and such. If they can escort him then they will be pardoned for their crimes. Afterwards, Tang decides he wants to stay on the ship with them and the crew as a whole decide they’re going to be the kind of pirates who help those in need. They eventually pick up Mei and MK as well and of course have plenty of run ins with Red Son. (I don’t wanna give too much away, so I’m trying to keep it kind a vague XD)

LBD is going to act as my main antagonist, having tried to stop their journey and kill Tang originally, but Macaque stays back to distract her while the others get Tang to safety. They don’t know what happened to Macaque, but considering how little LBD left, they have to assume he’s dead or captured. LBD has infiltrated the government and is slowly but surely expanding her influence. This is where Xui (oc/insert) comes in, playing the part of recon for a higher up official who has their suspicions about what’s been goin on. She runs into the crew while they’re restocking in a port, drops her letter with the info about LBD, which Wukong uses to make a deal with her. They give her safe passage to the next port and she tells him everything she knows about what is going on. she takes the deal and even though her travels with them are short, she ends up getting a little attached despite her best efforts.

Eventually she gets betrayed once LBD catches on to what’s going on and now Xui is on the run from the government. Wukong and company are also briefly under attack but manage to get away, but it separates them from Xui for the moment. After they leave, Red Son intercepts them but not to fight, as Macaque had found the fire demon and explained what was going on. About how LBD’s plans put every pirate in danger and there’s no way to win unless they work together. The two of them get the crew up to date on what’s happening  and so they all agree to start looking for more allies and making a plan to take LBD down.

LBD sends out a crew of her mercenaries to intercept them on their journey, but has underestimated how much trouble Xui can cause. While the mercs are attacking the crew Xui reveals that she stowed away on their ship, jumping in to help drive the mercs off the ship. with everyone together now, they evade LBD’s thugs and move onto finding their first group of allies.

Like I said, I’ve left it a little vague, because I don’t wanna give everything away just yet but this is the general idea and outline for this particular story! I’m making some adjustments as I read jttw, go back over the show and of course, do my own research on stuff. This is what I’ve got for now though ^^

- alright firstly i know jack isn’t here but if i don’t get some interaction with him and philip, as well as bashir, hetty, palírroia & beatrice and any of your other muses that are affiliated with potc then i stg what are we doing lmao. but as for here on the multi, there is also anamaria who i have over here, then my black sails guys (and i know you’re not as into that show as i am, hence why i’m feeling like john silver might be the best one to throw into the mix as he can also be very treasure island inspired? but if you want flint around to antagonist anyone i can do that too) - staying on the theme of potc, i went a little feral and used aimee’s surname to make her gibbs’ niece, which means she now has her ordinary modern verse and a potc/age of sail au which could be interesting with both henry and your other potc adjacent muses? likewise i may not be the biggest descendants film fan, but i am sure i could work her into that universe too - again, if i don’t get eddie & dustin and eddie & robin interactions from you, i stg - speaking of stra/nger th/ings, i’m feeling like florence might be a nice fit in that universe? but if not, i am lowkey working on some supernatural esque verses for adam, aimee & robin that may work? and likewise, that might work with heather & simon too? - martha and eleven? martha and eleven - as for luke since i know he’s one of your beloveds, i have my ocs viv & naomi who are musically inclined, or otherwise aimee, adam & robin who are my younger muses that would fit into his age range - i will always love on crime muses and madelyn could easily fit with naomi, who also dabbles in crime, or i have quite a detailed modern verse for jack that involves plenty of crime if you wanted to throw her into that!
