Saw a vid of a mom asking her husband if he would babysit their daughter (as a prank tehe bc this one influencer made a vid ab how she has to bribe her husband to “babysit” their child and it was v upsetting bc she was just laughing it off :(() anyways the dad was like:

“??? what ru trying to say ¿¿¿ of course I’ll spend quality time with our daughter while ur out, don’t call it babysitting I’m not sitting on no baby 🤬”

He was so angry at the implication he wouldn’t want to take care of his baby for one night, it just gave ROMAN!! He would bite Baby’s head off if she tried to mess w him like this, and then he would bite her leg for trying to leave the house without her life companions. Why can’t he come with you to the spa? It doesn’t matter that he doesn’t want any services they provide, he is perfectly content to sit on a chair in complete silence and just stare at your face while u get pampered. That IS his preferred self care routine. And the baby? The misty air and soothing aura has her in a deep slumber, her chunky cheeks smooshed into her papas chest she’s securely wrapped against. She’s a perfect little thing, Roman is,,, a scrappy little thing BUT STILL! Baby mommy claims to love him anyway, so why does she want to go alone???

All of this just for Baby to not even have an actual evening away planned 😭 poor woman. She just upset her impish man, and saddened her angel who heard her papas wails of distress “Mama u want to go away 😞?” Stupid Roman when will he learn he can’t go on his tirades anymore, there’s a toddler who roams these halls! Baby pinches him and walks away pissed w her baby, he’s always ruining her fun. He comes to bed an hour later, she makes him grovel but puts him out of his misery because he did in fact book them a weekend getaway to the Hamptons yay! All 3 Roy’s are coming tho bc he’s still her ball and chain.

This took me so long to type and it’s supposed to be a request 😭 my apologies, feel free to change anything and everything you’d like, I gotta go take a test I’ve had all day to complete and pushed to the last minute.

He is her father. Not her fucking babysitter.

Roman watches your daughter just toddle around. She's perfect. And this is perfect. He's such a father.

He became a father when you had her, yeah. But here - just looking at her, something soft and swallowed in his eyes, it's all the more prominent.

She plays with blocks. Roman watches intently. It makes you warm and you think he's under the sun like this, he's getting red in the face for it. He can't handle her being cute, which at this point, you think that just means your little girl being a little toddler.

"Top blue. No red. Ba ba blue."

It almost breaks away the giddiness of a prank.

Roman's with your baby all the time. You are with your baby all the time. You're with Roman all the time. Safe to say, you think he'll call you an idiot whore for the idea that he's babysitting. That or it'll be meanie. Mean wife.

You smile.

"Roman, I was planning on going out tonight."

"...It's five. I have to get ready? You didn't want to plan on going out tonight yesterday? Look at her, she's not mentally prepared for being outside. Also, fuck the outside. It was smelling like sewage when we came in, but I think it was that guy who looked like his name was Eddie."

"I was just thinking by myself. I didn't make an appointment but I think they can fit me in for a semi-retreat."

Roman looks to the babbling toddler with her blocks. She's very focused on building it high. Then he turns to you.

"Are you sick of me? Fuck you. What did I even do?"

"Nothing. I just felt impulsive for a spa night."

"I didn't even do anything - like actually...nothing? And now you want to go get your feet rubbed by someone else? Whore. Whore Mommy."

"Ba!"

You roll your eyes. You know Roman has to remember that he gets too whiny and puppy-eyed whenever you mention a foot rub you've had from a spa day. You've taken your feet just for him.

"It'll be quick. Maybe a facial. You can babysit her for a bit?"

"I can literally give you a facial. If you make me, I can-"

Roman's shift with his hands, his attempt to convince, humor, and humiliate.

"...What did you just...what the fuck?"

His eyes get sorta squinty. He's riled. You like Roman riled - you can always get him small and defenseless when he goes too far in a defense. But here, in how you try not to laugh, you'll have to know when to settle.

Maybe now with the vein popping in his forehead.

"Daddy go swear. No swear, Daddy. Blocks like when ears are clean."

Her block tower is almost as tall as her. But she's come up to Roman, shaking her head at his bent knee. She's making sure her Daddy hears her.

You swallow when Roman's not bending his anger to his humor. He just squeezes your daughter's chubby little hand.

You don't think the word babysit has sat well with him at all.

"Did you just tell me to fu...did you kinda just tell me to babysit her?"

Yes, you do. It was funnier in the video. But the husband in the video wasn't Roman.

You should know better, you love him too much that you should know better.

"Why Daddy look crazy?"

Roman pinches his nose bridge and swallow again.

"You just piled a cock-load. A massive cock-load of hurt on me. Wow. Okay." He stands. He's gotten so seriously so quickly. "You're mean and you've been snorting my dead dad's blood clot medication or maybe you've had a brain aneurysm because is she not my kid?"

Your daughter, her sweet head looking up to her Daddy, looks just as confused as you.

"I have not left this place and I really didn't want to because she's my kid. It's not babysitting - I'm not a nanny. We agreed on no nannies? I'm a nanny?"

"Roman-"

"Is this your way of telling me I've been secretly cucked and she's not my baby?"

"...M' not baby?"

You and Roman both turn at the softest voice. It's sweet and genuine and so toddler-like. She is too cute and she is just a toddler. A perfect child who bites her fingers.

Then Roman looks sick - and even though you're the dumb one here, it serves him right for making your sweet girl ask the question in the first place.

"No. Honey, you're my baby. I'm not a babysitter. Do I look like I crush babies?"

Roman's voice tightens in a whine. Possessive and defensive. All of him in the small of his throat.

"Mommy just doesn't like us." Roman looks down, feigns a moment of thinking with his the line of his mouth pushing to one side. "Well, what are we gonna do? We just have to let her go away and do a spa day without us. It's just us now. Forever. Sucks for Daddy mostly cause I've always planned suicide for this route but-"

"Roman."

"Mommy?"

"Oh, sweetheart-"

Her tiny, perfect voice breaks. She's more confused than ever and your heart twists.

"Mommy. No go, I don't-I don't-" She looks to Roman. "...You go away? Why?"

She's very soft and shy in her voice, like she always is. Still too kind for a toddler as she gets teary-eye.

You look to Roman, it's easy to show disappointment along your face.

He looks like he's about to vomit watching his daughter.

You bend down.

"No, sweetheart. Mommy's not going anywhere. Nowhere, okay? I was just joking. Daddy was just joking."

"I don't- I don't know."

"It's okay. Now you do. Mommy's here forever."

She sniffles and unlike her father, she doesn't feign thinking - she thinks really hard. She nods and rubs her cheek against your chest.

"Sorry for crying. But okay." She wraps her arms around you as much as she can. "Daddy, I don't know why you tell that."

Now your little girl is back to a silly voice in questioning.

"Yeah, Daddy. Why did you say all of that? To a little baby girl?"

"...I didn't - Daddy didn't mean..."

Roman's voice fades and breaks.

Well, you've gotten him small this way. You sigh and stand up, taking your daughter with you. You don't think it'll bode well if you try to leave her by skin.

"Jesu-!"

"You love a good nipple pinch."

Roman rubs his nipple with a scrunched face.

"It's my sorry. I'm sorry, Rome - it was a joke. I don't even have any plans. I just wanted to see how much babysitting would fuck with you. And it fucked with you."

And not pinching the other nipple is his punishment.

You hear a little mm on your shoulder. You kiss your daughter's cheek.

"Sorry, baby."

"She's a smart baby, she understands now. No suicide talk, at least.

"...Sorry." Roman just looks to his shirt. You think it's because he can't look to you. "That was like...mean. She's my baby."

"I know. That's why it's a joke. I'm gonna be in the room. Come with your own sorry."

You're almost asleep with your baby in your arms when Roman comes. You don't know he's been swallowing the sickness down while staring into the threads of the couch. Cause he's just the worst fucking Daddy who can't take a joke. That's him. He's a cute, smart sort of guy that everyone should want with the one person he wants being a super hot Mommy-lady. His best friend. But he's also fucking stupid. He should die, maybe?

Roman scratches a digging sort of scratch at the image of his daughter in her almost tears, confused and reaching for her mommy.

He needs a kiss. He needs a kiss right now or he'll die. It feels like it. He can't breathe, stupidly.

Roman comes into the room and monkey cuddles you from behind. He manages to play with her hair. Her asleep, mouth slightly parted like her father when you watch him sleep.

"We'll go to the Hamptons and we can give facials there. Make them creamy. But it's all of us that are going. And you can't leave me. Like. Actually. Not out of my sight. You won't be able to perceive anything but me and our daughter and that means no stupid ideas.

"Roman."

"She's asleep. Also...sorry for being the worst Daddy. I really did mean for my quip to end up putting our baby in tears."

You sigh.

You know he's suffered enough. He's real in his insecurity.

You kiss his forearm and you hear a sharp breath from behind, it moves against your spine.

"You're the best Daddy. It was nothing. She'll make you play floaties with her forever in the pool."

"...Fuck yeah. She will do that. Hopefully, if, you know, I didn't slap trauma on her face at my attempt at humor against a toddler-"

"Roman."

It's not his name that shuts him up, it's just bite to his forearm. It's all the love in your teeth.

"Yeah?"

"We love you."

"I was hoping on that for my will to not throw myself over the timber Brooklyn bridge..."

You feel his cheek press into your back.

"I love you guys too. Tell her I said that if I fall asleep before she wakes up."

You smile against Roman's bitemark. You'll try your best. It's the least you can do after your mess of a joke. Your love in making more small and needy for you after everything never outranks the need for him to know that he is loved.

Roman nuzzles before there's a lick.

"Can do."

Big Festivids Recs Post!

Last weekend was the big Festivids GoLive, which meant the release into the wild of 160 brand new small fandom vids (aka fanvids, edits, etc.) Right now the collection's anonymous, but tomorrow is vidder reveals, so I wanted to write up a recs post for some of my absolute favourites from this year's collection. If you know Yuletide, well, Festivids is like Yuletide, celebrating small/weird/underappreciated fandoms! It's an exchange fest, so people ask for the small fandom vids of their heart and, then, receive one.

Honestly the collection this year is SO high quality, you should really go and browse the works yourself in their entirety; there are so many vids that I absolutely loved that I didn't put on this recs list, because I was trying not to get carried away (and also trying to get it done). But just to get you started, here are a smattering of my favourites. I tried to represent a bunch of vid genres and source types here, but ultimately it's just my taste.

Andor: Level Up

AHHHH this is a vid about Andor and fascism and collective action and One Way Out and it's so gorgeously done. Perfect song choice, perfect vid, makes me cry and I will rewatch it many times.

Andor: be ready and be brave

Focusing on Ferrix, its history, its people, and its revolution. Absolute chills. Also I'm SO happy whenever I get to watch a vid to a Mountain Goats song.

Mosquita y Mari: como siempre soñé

Such a sweet, soft, slow romance vid. I ACHED for these two. Like reading a 300k slowburn but in three and a half minutes.

Dropout TV: Nothing in my Head

The Dropout TV vid of my DREAAAAAMS! (largely Game Changer but with lots of stuff in there!)

Taskmaster UK: Blood in the Cut

UHHHH. IT'S AMAZING??? It's hot and raw and kinky and hardcore. the vidder has the delicate, precise touch of a bloody scalpel. Yes, this is a vid for Taskmaster, the UK show where comedians do silly tasks. Because yeah, it's that show, but it's also this show.

Slash/Back: Uja

This vidder KNOWS how to vid horror. The way this vid cuts the most terrible images to make them barely-there, more horrifying for being rough slaps against my consciousness . . . yikes. Amazing vidding, super cool and scary, while also maintaining the uplifting, kickass, hopeful tone you want from a collective-action horror movie.

Janelle Monae: I Like That

Glorious, joyful, sexy celebration of being a free-ass motherfucker.

Star Trek: Lower Decks: Hard Times

Boimler vid about how he's essentially a redshirt who is just slightly too sweet to actually die. Absolutely adorable and hilarious.

Woman King: Upside Down

Absolute BANGER of a vid, great cuts, great movement, great character arc and great Dahomey women being amazing.

Romeo + Juliet: Magnetic

We all agree Harold Perrineau is the best Mercutio, SO, with that in mind, here is a flawless celebration of the best Mercutio.

Knives Out/Glass Onion: 'Til You Hit a Nerve

Brilliant comparison vid putting Marta from the first film together with Helen and Andi from the second one, drawing out the similarities and dissimilarities in a visual feast and with a badass powerwalk. Nothing not to love!

David Cronenberg's Films: body

This one is phenomenal. It takes David Cronenberg's entire filmography and condenses it into a vid about all the sexualized body horror. It is deeply horny and deeply disturbing and deeply fascinated by every single finger going into a hole in a body that shouldn't be there. It's soft and tentative and it's very graphic and violent, all at once.

The Wheel of Time: Velodrome

Tower politics and circularity and being bound to one another in every good way and every bad way; what a beautiful vid. I love how this is about a place, and about how that place draws these people together over and over in their shared experience and love and trauma.

The Midnight Sky: The Laughing Heart

Absolutely gorgeous vid of the film to a spoken word + music rendition of Charles Bukowski's "The Laughing Heart" (there is a light somewhere). I have not seen this film but I found this vid deeply moving.

Moby Dick: Queequeg and I

There are four (FOUR!!!) Moby Dick vids at Festivids this year, and they are all amazing combinations of a huge smorgasboard of sources, I heartily recommend them all, but I'll specifically rec two. This one is Queequeg and Ishmael to "Wouldn't It Be Nice" and it is the sweetest queerest thing ever. Queequeg and Ishmael get a happy ending shhhhh they do shhhhh yes this is how it happened they came out of the water they're fine

Moby Dick: a vulture feeds upon the heart forever

This vid is a fucking masterpiece. It is a huge archival multisource Moby Dick vid that weaves all these incredibly different visual together to make a coherent, tragic narrative. And like. The BOOK is not a coherent narrative! This is such gorgeous and amazing fanwork. Don't miss out on it.

Women's 100m Sprinting: Didn't Come to Play

This is GORGEOUS, I don't know anything about sprinting but I know I love these beautiful joyful powerful women running really fast and hugging each other and being amazing. The editing on this is so tight; the vid never stops for a second. Like a sprint?!?!?!

The Golem and the Jinni: סיפור הגולם

This is another book vid, but since this book doesn't have any adaptations, it's using entirely archival source and probably some documentaries and films to construct the story - or, really, construct the vibe of the book, construct the metaphors of the book, and the result is beautiful and powerful and meditative. It's about survival, and making life.

Jesus Christ Superstar: Hope on Fire

This is another umbrella vid, where the vidder is taking a bunch of different productions of the play and mashing them together. This vid focuses on Judas and Jesus/Judas, and it all feels so inevitable and tragic and real and cruel. I really loved it.

Jordan Peele's Films: Goodbye, Honey, You Call That Gone

This is such a wonderful mashup of Jordan Peele's three films, exploring all the parallels and differences and just the rich tapestry of his imagery.

猎罪图鉴 | Under the Skin: Put It On Me

I don't know this source but this was just so gorgeously put together; there's a focus on art and art objects, on hands moving and creating, that's just mesmerizing.

Interview With a Writer

This is a tentative series idea I had to reach out to writers whose completed stories I just absolutely fell in love with and just want to share with the rest of Tumblr. ♥ Its continuation is solely based if these talented beings are willing to answer my questions or not.

Story: Little Lamb // ao3

Paring: Aemond Targaryen x Reader

Rating/Warning: Explicit, sexual themes, misogynistic behaviour (borderline sexist) depictions of violence and death.

So, when did you start writing?

I started writing during primary school, like a lot of people do. Funny enough, my first completed short story was essentially a fanfic about my classmates during a natural disaster (which is so embarrassing I know), and the worst part is that I did show it to my closest friends at the time. Thankfully, I wrote it by hand and only have the memory of it as a keepsake, so no one can ever read it now.

Where did the plot for Little Lamb come from? (Was it a daydream on repeat in your mind, fan vid, etc.)

I have always been the type of person to obsess over fictional characters, but when House of the Dragon episodes started coming out, I didn't obsess over anyone, which caught me off guard (I started watching GoT when the first season premiered, and though I was too young for it, I was obsessed).

But I was interested in the history of the Targaryens so I decided to read Fire & Blood, and the moment that we were introduced to Aemond's character, it was game over for me. I became obsessed, but at the time (September 2022), there were practically no stories, and I felt like I had read them all.

This is when the plot of the first chapter began marinating in my mind and, one evening, I was not feeling great mentally and just drafted the first chapter to feel better. I didn't plan to post it, as I never had before, but decided to on a whim. From then on, I really only continued the story due to the amazing response from the community! The rest of the plot's inspiration essentially came from an accumulation of all the books, fanfics, and stories I have read.

Was there anything in specific that inspired your Reader portrayal?

I had never written in second person prior to Little Lamb, and had only done so to not have to actually create an original character as that takes more effort (like coming up with their backstory, how they fit into George R. R. Martin's world, etc). I didn't intend on publishing the first chapter, let alone finishing the story, so to begin with, I wrote a very plain character/reader that any person could relate to. However, as I continued writing the story, this was less possible, so I tried to create a character that felt real and tangible, with the virtues and flaws of a real person.

Do you feel your Reader compliments Aemond well?

I hope that the Reader in Little Lamb compliments Aemond well (or at least my interpretation of Aemond), but that really is up to the person reading the story!

Explain your interpretation of Aemond Targaryen. What drives him? Why is he the way he is in Little Lamb?

The way I characterise Aemond is more so based on Fire & Blood rather than the TV series, as I had read the book first before he was introduced in the HotD. Aemond reminds me a lot of Anakin Skywalker (from Star Wars) and Paul Atreides (from Dune) in that he possesses the qualities of a Byronic hero – he is a generally good person haunted by his past. In my opinion, Aemond's main motivation is to protect those he considers family, as he understood that no one would protect them otherwise, and he learned this lesson in a brutal way when he lost his eye as a child and had no one on his side except his mother.

Was there another character (OC or canon) in your story you enjoyed portraying? (And why?)

I didn’t explore other characters too much as Little Lamb is not very long (its word count is only about sixty thousand), but I did really enjoy writing Daeron Targaryen into the story whenever it felt appropriate. The show-runners in HotD decided to not include him Season 1, which saddened me because I loved him in Fire & Blood, but I do think that he will be included in the next season. I am not going to mention anything about his character (as it would probably be a spoiler since he hasn’t been introduced in the TV series yet), but in case anyone is not aware of him, Daeron is Viserys and Alicent’s youngest son, and he ends up becoming an important (and bad ass) character in the Dance of the Dragons. I really enjoyed writing about him because there is so little about him, both in canon and in fanfiction, and I have a massive soft spot for him.

Do you think you would do a sequel?

I thought about it, due to how positive the response to Little Lamb was, but decided against it as I think that story had reached its natural end. Due to the nature of the story (as it is a second person narrative with an ambiguous reader), I feel like expanding the story would make it convoluted, and I did write it randomly one evening, so it has many plot holes which I cannot patch up.

However, I did start a new HotD story, with an OC, and that story is incredibly more fleshed out and thought through, so that is what I am working on currently. Unfortunately, progress on it has been slower, but I hope to be able to regularly post chapter updates on it soon.

Do you have a personal favorite story you'd like to share?

Definitely! I am a reader more so than a writer, and my favourite story is The Fool and the Dragon by @prince-aemond-targaryen – it is a beautiful story, written in such emotive language and a plot that is so absorbing, and I have re-read it multiple times now! I began reading it when the first chapter was published on AO3, and her updates were what brightened up my days back then. By far my favourite Aemond fanfic, but I am on Tumblr and AO3 most evenings reading fanfiction, and love most of the ones I come across.

impressions of a newborn atiny

k i've been into Ateez for maybe almost a month now, and in a nutshell my stanning process is as follows:

• absolutely binge on nothing but music videos • after a couple weeks graduate to performances/relays • start learning names/watching fan vids

last night i started watching fanvids and got all their names down. here is what i think of the Ateez members so far.

San - San is 100% the only reason I even glanced at Ateez. I saw that story their hair stylist posted on her instagram of him absolutely wrecking his tresses during a Guerrilla performance and I was like Ok. I need to know this guy. And he's pretty much everything I expected. I am infatuated with not only his dedication to dancing but his harsh appearance and the way you can see his true nature is that of an artist. He seems like he tries very hard in all avenues of life. His sex appeal is off the charts. His face is my ideal and I want him to slice me open with his cheekbones. Knowing he is 5'9" makes me want to go feral. I will stan this man til I die, I suppose.

Hongjoong - he is drugs and I need more.

Seonghwa -Seong reminds me so much of Saga from Alice Nine to the point where it makes me want to screech and cry. He seems like the best hyung. He's so caring and is always just... there??? Also his nose. Jesus fuck don't let any plastic surgeons near that gorgeous masterpiece of evolution. A good boy. A great boy. I want to love him with all my heart.

Wooyoung - He is Yeonjun's boyfriend. His face is comforting. I feel like he's still figuring out a lot about himself.

Yeosang - Visuals are out of this world. Seriously. Every time I see him out of the corner of my eye I'm like wtf is that GORGEOUS THING THERE??? Oh tis Yeosang. Reminds me so much of Ren from Nu'est, both in appearance and personality. Seems like a very comfortable, comfy person. I love his body proportions and general energy/aura. Feels very calm and stable to me. Contender for bias.

Yunho - Unbelievably sweet energy. Can't imagine he's ever done a bad thing in his life. Tall enough to be friends with TXT. I will inevitably be falling extremely hard for him at some point. Soft soft soft soft soft boy.

Jongho - Body so smol. Voice so big. Obsessed with his singing. Love how every time he has a line my brain goes "yep it's that guy." Very curious to learn more about what his personality is like.

As a group, Ateez seem to jive really well with each other and in my mind they really stand out amongst a lot of the mediocre groups in terms of their raw talent. I really love the way they utilize/use MR in their live performances, and don't shy away from it but rather use it for a consistency throughout the performance that really accomplishes what they're going for. Their use of MR allows them to go all in on the choreography. I think the way they separate their incredible vocals into studio recording and their incredible dancing into the live performances is really admirable, and demonstrates a clear vision for the group that a lot don't even come close to in their live performances.

Honestly I was... quite taken aback by how much more attractive they look in live performances than in MVs. Ha.

What strikes me the most are two things -- visually they're all very different from one another, which gives me the impression they were chosen for the group based on talent rather than strictly visuals/etc. They're definitely one of the BTS-modeled 4th gen groups, with their hyung not being the leader and the level of quality they push for in their dancing and performances. The sense of wholesomeness, and the involvement of members in music production, so on and so forth.

They also seem to really like each other, which is nice. I love the songs, and need to spend some time seeing which ones Hongjoong and other members took part in.

Ultimately, I think Ateez is a perfect blend of classic kpop styles and visuals with the modern 4th gen emphasis on talent and great personality.

What is your favourite content that SnC have ever produced like do you like the challenges most or the travelling most? Or is the spooky shit the best stuff? Or the XPLR stuff? Basically we've known they've changed up their content alot over the years, but which content have you enjoyed the most? Not one specific video, but like the whole genre, lol. Sorry I suck at wording the thoughts in my brain sometimes.

I totally got what you were asking, anon, no worries!

To me, they had a few very specific style changes, or eras, over the years: the early days stuff with the challenges and sit downs, the xplr days, haunted 1.0 (2019 into the pandemic), the "we don't know what the fuck to do with ourselves cause covid" era, 25x25, and haunted 2.0.

Mixed in with all that have been a few sub-eras that mostly played out on their personal channels, like: the prankz!!!, the 3am challenges, traphouse vlogs, sit down vids, react vids, etc., but I'm mostly just looking at their main channel so I won't include any of that kind of stuff.

For nostalgic purposes, I have to give it to the xplr days. That was when I started watching them and honestly, that stuff was just so simple and pure and not over the top...it was just two idiots breaking into abandoned buildings for 10 minutes a week.

Does that mean I want to see them go back to that? Hell no, lol. I do not want to see two almost 30 year olds with two mansions, a whole ass production team, and a POLICE RECORD trying to recreate their lost youth by breaking into shit. Remakes and reboots never work. Leave xplr in the past so we can all look back on it fondly.

But yea, for nostalgia purposes, that would be my favorite.

As far as production quality, editing, filming and storytelling, I think they hit their stride with the haunted 2.0 content, and truly are putting out the most professional and high quality content they ever have right now. Of their two haunted eras, this era is my favorite for that reason alone, and would definitely be my second favorite era overall.

Coming in third place would be 25x25. I loved the concept of 25x25, and the first couple episodes before they completely lost the plot on it were also great from a production and storytelling standpoint...I just think they tried to do that at the worst possible time and then gave up on it way too easily. Maybe they can try again for 30 (now that they made peace with Elton, I'm sure he'll keep his goddamn ass mouth shut about it if they do, so at least there's that).

The treasure hunting (aka "we don't know what to do with ourselves cause covid") era was...fine, I guess. I liked the videos but I also know they were just scrambling to find some way to keep their channel afloat in the midst of the pandemic, and I also remember all the drama that waa going on around them during those days so I really don't look back on that era too fondly at all, lol.

Haunted 1.0 in 2019...bleh. I enjoyed some of it at the time, but got sick of the antics and theatrics really quick and in my opinion, most of those videos hold up about as well as moldy cheese left in the sun, so...pass, lol.

The pre xplr days stuff is just embarrassing to me, like I get secondhand embarrassment watching a lot of that stuff lol. Hard, hard pass.

Honestly I have to say I think the most attractive quality Darcy has is his loyalty. Like I know his friends say that's one of his best qualities as well and they always mention his loyalty to Bingley but you can clearly see his loyalty to Elizabeth early on too. Even when he's trying to repress how strongly he feels for her and he's simply "admiring her" like when she visits Jane at Bingley's. Caroline constantly puts her down and tries to make her look bad to Darcy. Liz arrives after walking 3 miles and Caroline is like ew Darcy do you see how sweaty and dirty and nasty she is? They see her taking her walks and she's sarcastically like do you think any painter could do her eyes justice lol. I wanna get off my chest one of the things that brought me joy before: Markiplier.

You see, I have noticed that after the release of "A Heist with Markiplier" Mark's content has been a little on the down low. It just doesn't feel like him anymore. I particularly like the 2015-2020 Markiplier. Pre-2015 he was a little annoying, I just admit and post 2020 is after "A Heist with Markiplier" and the decay of his material. I noticed it first with his 3 scary games series, fantastic series. The first 30 were always the greatest and nothing, and I mean nothing would top those 30 in 3 scary games. Markiplier was the goat in that. Although I must admit, he didn't have a good long let's play series until Darkwood. I consider Mark's let's play of Darkwood to be one of his greatest before the quality dipped. I am deeply, deeply saddened that the new Mark isn't the same Mark I've always loved. The best Mark. And I find that he forgot about his first series, Beyond the Wall of Sleep or something like that. It's a brilliant thing, that was. Mark's a good voice actor. I am just lamenting how things are. Skullgirls, Markiplier, Jacksepticeye (although I was never a fan, I do appreciate some of his older let's plays like Little Nightmares and Limbo) and PewDiePie. Oh, PewDiePie. I was not really big on Pewds. Although I was familiar with him, he never really seemed like my type of guy. I am aware of the controversies but there's already enough people worrying about that. What I'm worried about is who's gonna replace the great three? Mark, Jack and Pewds? It's just that those three were something during the formative years of modern YouTube. I appreciate that I was part of history. I just really want the old Mark back. He's just not like the old him anymore. He feels off. I've tried watching a few of his latest vids. It's not good, according to my standards of Mark.

In the months leading up to VidCon, some fans on the internet made a few discoveries: first of all, that the inside of Link’s house is painted green. This is a big deal because all of his videos are filmed outside either in his backyard or on trips that he and the brosquad go on to do…whatever bros do. explosions. idk. The point is he had some announcement about VidCon and filmed it inside. Only the wall and a potted plant were shown.

However, the colour was similar to the the shade of Zelda’s living room. Fans dug through years and years of old videos and found a clip of Zelda walking through a hallway, where there was an open door and a glimpse of a houseplant.

There were 2 types of responses to the theory:

“They could just be roommates guys calm down”

“and they were ROOMMATES?”

others pointed out that Link could just not have a house and had to crash in Zelda’s

Some guy on reddit claimed he had a botany degree and declared that the houseplants in the clips were not of the same genus. Normal people pointed out that the plant would have grown 4 years between the clips and would look considerably different.

#Zelink trended on twitter for a while and people posted other old clips from both of their channels and the frog video blew up again

Impa retweeted a post tagged as #zelink with “rofl” and later publicly apologized for causing confusion.

Fans noticed that in the “can a motorcycle drive over my arm” (it was clickbait he’s fine) episode 2 years ago, Link was eating out of a paper lunch bag with his name written on it in handwriting that a few people claimed to look like Zelda’s, leading people to believe that she had packed him a lunch.

However, this theory was shot down with the counterargument that Zelda can’t cook. although. i mean how much skill do you need to make a sandwich.

No one knows what tumblr is doing at this time

Zelda wore a scarf in her “Save the Sand Seals” video that matched identically to the scarf Link wore when he travelled to Hebra to film a shield surfing video, but it’s been debated wether it’s actually the same scarf or not.

Neither Zelda nor Link has spoken up about the theories, and besides Impa’s one slip on twitter, neither has any of their friends. Zelda received a lot of backlash for the assumption that she was dating Link because he has a lot of delusional fans that didn’t want her to “steal their man” or whatever the hell that type of fan would get mad about

Oh yea and bolson & karson run a zelink fanpage on twitter sorry I forgot about that

after that whole mess, everyone was even more anticipant of VidCon in the hopes that some of their questions would be answered.

The whole batch went to VidCon this year: Link, Impa, Daruk, and Riju are a gang while Sidon and Mipha go together and Zelda & Revali each go separately. Urbosa is there for supervision moral support

Zelda has always been much better at dodging questions that she doesn’t want to answer than anyone else, so her Q&A went without a hitch. When asked to confirm the rumours she said “which one?” and then moved on to the next question (without actually confirming any rumours).

Link is generally a more awkward person but eventually said that he had filmed the video in Zelda’s house because it was nicer and didn’t realize it would cause such an uproar. Fans were disappointed, but Bolson claimed he saw Link and Zelda exiting the hotel elevator on the same floor after Link’s Q&A session. No one believed him.

Fans went back to theorizing over who Link, Zelda, and Sidon were all dating, because apparently they can’t just be dating unknown people and have to be with other YouTubers

Sidon and Bazz got engaged about a week after VidCon, making at least 4 preteen girls cry

actually try 4 million

Sidon x Sidon made a brief comeback but Sidon spoke up about his fandom for the first time ever on twitter and told everyone that no, he was not dating himself. eventually, everyone settled down and accepted that none of them were in a relationship save for a few loud fans.

Link and Zelda still got the occasional “when will you tell us who you’re dating?” comment but most of them were joking and the people who still hardcore shipped them were generally frowned upon. Zelda’s popularity went up after VidCon and she regained the 200k subscribers she’d lost after the first theory dropped.

Two months after VidCon, Link posted a video titled “Zelda and I’s House Tour!” and gave around 45 million people a heart attack

as revealed in the video, they had actually been dating since they were 16 and everyone’s just a fool.

1. hd videos

always always always try to find the most high quality videos you can find! it doesn’t have to be 4k, 1080 is enough. i rarely download 720p, it can make do but it won’t be as good. so try to find 1080p vids! the quality of the videos make the difference in the world!

for youtube, i just use youtube downloader lol, i think any would suffice.

for downloading movies/tv shows, you can either torrent or use direct download links. here’s a link full of websites to download movies/shows. my personal fave is snahp(.)it and i use jdownloader as well. jdownloader is a download manager, so you can download several videos in one go and just more organized i guess. also i think it can bypass the unnecessary advertisements and/or yk those websites when you click on the download button but takes you somewhere else djsnsk i hope you understand this.

also do have a strong ad block on your browser. i use ublock and adblock on chrome.

2. photoshop

i use photoshop for my gifs. you can use photopea i think but my friend has tried it and for her it didnt delivered the maximum quality you know. there’s a tutorial on how to use photopea tho somewhere on tumblr but i dont have the link sorry:( personally, i’m more comfortable with photoshop.

if you are using window, try to crack it with GenP. you could search for GenP and click on the reddit link. i used genp to crack, im very happy with it. have no trouble until now!

if you use mac, search for adobezii reddit or click here!

3. sharpening

now!!! this is important too!!! you need to sharpen your gifs but be careful to not oversharpen them!! i think i followed this tutorial but i tweaked it at the end. you could use my action here, it consists of double sharpening and a touch of gaussian blur to soften it a bit. play around with sharpening!! find the right way for you!!! i do suggest to use double sharpening, it makes the difference in the world!!

4. coloring

tbh i’m still learning to color my gifs until now. but i think the contrast and brightness play some parts too. i just notice if the gifs are wayyyyy too bright it’ll lose it’s quality, the same when it’s over saturated. so i guess find the balance!!!

5. cropping/sizing

i always crop my gifs first before i sharpen them, i even crop them before i convert them to smart filter. idk but to me it’s better that way. follow the size that tumblr allows to ensure better quality!! since the beginning i set the width to be the tumblr size e.g. 540px with this setting of cropping and the height just kinda follows it. like i calculate what the height would be if i want the aspect ratio to be 3:2 or 5:4. gosh i hope this makes sense

6. exporting

ok so i dont really understand the science behind the option but this page goes into the great details between the difference settings. i almost exclusively use selective and diffusion with 100 dither and 256bit color. as always play around!! not every gif will be suitable with that setting or if you even like that setting.

7. screencapping

i dont really know if you screencap makes the quality better, but i do know it’s just easier to screencap than uh cutting the video in photoshop- especially when you try to gif a movie! i use potplayer (idk if it’s available on mac tho?)

after you have your screenshoted scenes, load them onto photoshop like this!

and just do your usual giffing process.

this gif tutorial is incredibly detailed and i recommend to read it if you havent!

i got very distracted earlier re-organizing/cleaning my bedroom to make space for this so i forgot to make my post about my very exciting news; here it is!!!!

i was finally able to get myself a brand new electric guitar yesterday!! and it's the exact model/color one i was hoping to be able to get! one of my moms drove me to one of our nearest guitar center stores so we could get it in person and not worry about the possibility of something breaking or getting lost in shipping since i've spent the majority of this year trying to save up for it and it's such a special guitar; i was so happy about having it that i kept crying on the drive home 😭💖

its a PRS SE Custom 24 in the color 'Bonnie Pink' (my phone camera picked it up as more of a red shade but its super hot pink in real life and so gorgeous 🥺💖). it's known to be a great electric guitar for pretty much any genre/style of playing and it sounds beautiful on the cool as fuck electric guitar amp i got early this year before my other electric guitar broke. my previous one was very much intended to be a 'starter' guitar for new players, so last year and early this year when i tried to play more loud/dynamic/fun riffs and stuff on it, it just kinda fell apart very fast since it just wasn't built for that kind of playing. i researched this PRS model all year, watching demo vids of people showing off how many styles it plays so well and learning about the pickup sounds and ease of finger movement on the neck etc etc. it really is perfect and i still can't believe that after all this time i finally have it!!! it also came with a free case for it thats rly nice quality, and i got two new guitar straps to use with it as well just cus i figured it's be nice to have new accessories that havent been super worn out already for it

anyways, ranting aside, i am in awe that this guitar is finally mine and i feel like a huge anxiety weight has been lifted off of my chest. not being able to make/record all the music i've been working on in the past year and a half or so has been a huge contributor to my depression flaring up very bad this year (this month in particular), so i will be spending lots of time playing this and practicing to get back into my guitar playing groove! 💖🎶💖🎶
