if you're enjoying the 60th specials,,, you may like Dalek Universe (it's not as daleky as the name implies). Ten is still ten but there is actual emotional beats in it and Anya my beloved and and an ongoing plot (the Doctor is stuck away from the TARDIS) and great writing.

okay I finally finished Hellsing 2001 and it IS better to a certain degree. Obv the art direction and soundtrack is superior (though 2001 had its fair share of low budget animation moments, I prefer the style, framing, backgrounds and colors over Ultimate.) I also think they did a better job at showing Integra and Sera's characters and establishing Hellsing as an actual military organization. The lack of the poorly thought out Nazi plotline also deeply helps. Oh and there's no comedy, I don't miss the comedy at all. THAT BEING SAID - Ultimate had more money which means the combat is better because they could go bananas with it. Which works much better with Alucard's style of combat. 2001 is also extremely short and cramped, I really wish the episodes were longer. There's a lot of stuff that just happens and doesn't get the attention it deserves or gets abandoned by the plot (like Anderson for example) Oh and the end villain STINKS and it falls off pretty bad on the last three episodes. ' It's much more of what I was expecting - a fun, loose, quick little vampire story.
Overall I would say watch 2001 and read the manga if you want to get into Hellsing. Or if you want something you can watch in a day for some background noise while you grind in a video game or do chores or whatever.

I love writing Star Wars fanfiction, but I'm in such a weird place with it right now, like, I'm happy when people read what I write, but at the same time I only want to write rare pairs that only like 3 people will read to begin with because they fit my niche ideas so much better.

also to add on to your "destiny dying long live destiny"
its the Monday after a holiday weekend for the states. people are exhausted and probably going back to work or trying to down tune
also also its the holiday week where a new mainline Pokemon game just released. regardless of your opinions/the quality of it its still a brand new Pokemon game. thats gonna pull ppl from anywhere.
Yep! It's really interesting how November without an expansion in Destiny has been low two years in a row. And incidentally, both Novembers, there's been a Pokemon and Call of Duty release (on top of other major releases).
I know Aztecross said "don't tell me it's because it's Monday, it's Monday for other games too and there's 34 games above Destiny by player count." But it does matter. Those other games also probably have fewer players than they do when it's not post-holiday Monday.
And ofc, not all games are tied to seasonal cycles. People know there's nothing left to wrap up in Destiny so they moved to other games that they may have been neglecting during the Destiny pinnacle grind. I've neglected other games for Destiny this season and I've been catching up with them now that Destiny's season is ending and I have nothing left to do. If I have to choose what to play on a Monday before the new season, it won't be Destiny. Cringefail confession, but I spent this Monday catching up with levelling my battlepass in Overwatch. Yeah it's Monday, but I have things left to do in Overwatch and none in Destiny.
If Destiny is someone's primary game, they'll prioritise it in the first two months because of the pinnacle grind. I have to get my power level up so I can do GMs. I always prioritise Destiny first. So when I'm done, last month of the season, I play less because I have to go back and do stuff I neglected in other games. It's really simple. The fact that it's the final week of the season is crucial context.
And it's really hypocritical of these content creators to do this after they spent months farming negative attention and bad press for the game. Maybe fewer people are playing because you convinced them that the game is shit? They never seem to like taking credit for the negative, just the positive. You influence people's opinions! When you post the newest god tier build, everyone and their grandma copies it. When you shittalk the game for months, your fans listen to you. I don't know why that's difficult to understand.
There's obviously legitimate reasons for everyone to personally dislike the game! I have my gripes too, everyone does. I think we could have really important convos and feedback with Bungie about the issues we have. But this specific way of doing it? Constructing outrage by using "numbers" stripped of all context to "prove" that the game is objectively bad? It's sleazy. And it helps no one. Worst of all, it results in really awful online behaviour under the guise of anonymity and perceived justification: "bad devs ruin the game, we have the right to complain!"
Bungie knows the numbers better than any of us. If they're concerned, they will deal with it. And ofc, we'll see the numbers skyrocket in December. And then drop in January. And then skyrocket in February. And so on.

I am really curious about lupus pilum mutat. Is it about Daud and his time in Tyvia? Is it even about Daud? Will there be a second part of the expression or perhaps another variant with a fox instead of a wolf?👀
thank you so much for asking!! it is in fact about daud (because of course). now, long term listeners will actually be familiar with this one- i've posted little snippets from it before (and am slowly running out of sfw content to share. and i dont wanna spoil all the good bits.)
in terms of the title (also Excellent questions)- very tentative for now. obviously i love it because of the callback to daud's "motto", we'll see if i still feel like it "deserves" it by the end.
but as promised. snippet be upon ye!!
There it was. His greatest privilege- being subject to Daud's cruelty a moment less than everybody else. When he shatters the ground Martin stands on, he does so almost gently.
And then his gaze drops to the smear of blood on the ground, oxygenated dull and tacky, left in streaks by Daud's careless bootprints. In succession, Martin thinks: of Daud's hands around the hilt of his blade, paring open a throat; of slowly-cooling corpses stacked in a corner, masks askew; of a mounting pile of casualty reports on his desk; of a mounting pile of excuses. How tension floods a room when the only sound reaching its high ceilings is the tinny drip-drip-drip of foreboding red on its marble floors.
Jaw set, he stares him down. Stays quiet when he speaks to chastise, the tone that has Junior Overseers shivering at potential consequences. “I had good men stationed outside of that door.”
He hopes the barb stings, hopes to see a flash of guilt on his face- that rare little twitch of his lip and sidelong glance that hides rapidly suppressed tumult. And not for the dead Overseers- Martin himself is grieved more by the inconvenience than the loss of life, couldn't possibly expect more from Daud- but for Martin's displeasure.
Daud scoffs, no more room left for guilt. “You didn't care for them,” he says, a touch annoyed at perceived sentimentality.
Martin wants to curse at him. Almost does. Instead he feels the truth unfurling, a slow release, and tries to push it down.
“No,” he concedes, “I didn't. But I can't suffer casualties this early. I'll look incompetent.”
Amusement pulls at the corner of Daud's lips. That boyish delight in having taken more from him, chipped more away. Oh, Martin thinks, he'll hollow me out one day.
