So, I may be a day late, but I still want to make a little post for Simblr Gratitude Day 💜

To start off, my memory is pretty bad, so I just know I'm gonna miss tagging people... and honestly, there's way more people on here I'm grateful for than tumblr's limit of 50! So I'm starting out addressing everyone.

To everybody that likes or reblogs my posts, sends comments or asks, shares their sims with me, or uses my cc: I love you. Yes, you! I may be bad at answering back sometimes, but I cherish every interaction I get- a lot of the times they have me kicking my feet and giggling, or sometimes I'm barking and scaring my cat. Asks really make my day and even when I don't reply so fast, they warm my heart. Asks I've gotten on here have genuinely helped me in my dark times, and renewed my faith in this community as a whole, because some of you are just so freaking amazing and kind. Especially now with everything I've been going through, sims and being here has remained a comfort for me because of you all. Even if there's speed bumps from time to time, I truly believe there's more good here than bad, and y'all should be proud of yourselves and your capacity for endless kindness. Thank you!

Now, I'm going to address a few specific precious people I'm grateful for.

@wastelandwhisperer - Moon, my precious mom friend, I adore you. The joy, comfort, and hilarious memories you give me can't be understated. You deserve all the love and light in the world.

ughhh. once again just really fucking disappointed in everything thats happened and will continue to come out that has happened. i hope we still see these ccs interacting, doing new fun things together, but for like the koreans? that are new and (atleast one of them i think) doesnt speak much english?? like how else are they going to consistently bridge the gap without the translator? idk. it sucks. :(

agree with you anon :( watching ccs interact when they may not have crossed paths without the server and being able to see their respective community mix together to share language, cultures, memes, whatever really is the highlight of it right ?

also tbh i don’t know if the korean members are fluent in english or not bc i haven’t watched since they entered, i feel bad they joined at such a bad time, same with hugo.

but the translator wasn’t just useful for the ccs who aren’t good with english, it allowed everyone to speak their native language when they wanted and for the viewers to understand them. at least as the audience we still have the twitch extension made by aypierre’s community.

and it's so fucking crazy that some of you treat blogs as if we're ccs. we're held to insanely high standards and if you don't like what you see or if you think we're wrong some of you harass us for days and threaten us to come to our house to do awful fucking things to us. we're just fucking fans none of us want the attention. we just want to be part of a stupid fucking community.

i asked people to dial down the hate and the bait and every single time i don't post flowers and happiness it gets thrown back on my face because "and you were crying for people to stop being so negative🤓". that post came from a moment of horrible tension in the fandom where i was seeing my friends genuinely suffer over this. when people were getting awful horrible things about the dteam. now i can't even hold a light and meme-y conversation about things that piss me off (yes!!im human!! people piss me off all the fucking time)

we started a stupid camp server from the bottom of our fucking hearts because we truly see the good in the fandom. because we wanted to build a place where people would interact with the content and each other in a positive light. because we truly believed it was doable, we've seen the love in this fandom countless of times. the very first day that server launched there were already people rooting for it to fail.

i suggest a second book, for the dteam this time, because i know it wouldn't hurt the dteam to hear some nice things. because the first one was so meaninful to dream. because i know a lot of people were so fucking happy that they got confirmation that their words matter, and i wanted that to happen again. and my friend gets asks about how i shouldn't be in it when i promote SA threats.

do any of you have any idea how awful it fucking feels to have everything i do get thrown in my face every time i do something one of you doesn't like. do you think it's fucking fair at all. because i don't.

im a meme and an overreacter and a stupid fucking bitch sometimes but holy shit every time ive messed up with someone ive fixed it. i dont deserve to be picked apart like this. every single project ive ever participated in every single word of encouragement and positivity i have meant it one hundred percent. every single time the conversation has turned from fun to dooming ive cut it straight up. every single time there's been mass panic ive tried to keep it clean and be reasonable about it - i already have enough anxiety for all of us, i don't need more people to have a rough time.

i really miss when i used to get news(!!) from tumblr or when i got so many meme posts because people reblogged a lot of things.. so many people are inactive now and i feel like everyone who i follow now are in their one specific fandom only. and even those posts don't get a lot of interaction :(

😕😕😕 what can I say, it’s been rough and it very much still gets worse. I don’t mind people creating their space for one fandom only, but it’d be really nice of those who share the same interest to at least interact more actively with others…

I realised how small the active bts community has become during my christmas event, with very few exceptions, only the ones who are usually already very present participated and shared love, mostly with those other active blogs. it was a little disappointing tbh but I’m still very very thankful for those who keep supporting each other 🤍

of course it’s bleak for everyone, but especially for content creators, it’s getting so frustrating. I realised many are actually pretty active and post a lot right now, probably as a coping mechanism because we’re all missing the tannies, but everything only gets reblogged by other cc’s and by a handful loyal content supporters (love each of them). the only exception is when there’s new footage of a member being somewhat naked, then suddenly everyone’s able to use the reblog button again 💀 ah well, this site… you can’t do with or without it

x yeah ftr when i said communities i meant the communities of ccs crossing over, not the fanbases interacting, that would be a bloodbath.... i cant deny that it would be entertaining to watch spanish speaking ccs get involved, because they seem to have more of a backbone than most english speaking ccs (at least from what i saw) and mcc is not used to that, but the stress is not something i want to deal with

But in general, the bubble of streamers I watch don't have any problem calling out their chat and twt when they start being too toxic or parasocial (/neg). Like some weeks ago Q and other people played a game where you had to make memes and they picked on Juan during the whole stream, and people were like "they made him feel bad :(( they're so mean" and literally the next day when they went live they told them to fuck off cause they're friends and if any of them felt bad or uncomfortable they would said it. They're pretty firm with those kind of boundaries. And as you probably have seen, if there's a bug or problem in an event they will say it and they will ask for some kind of solution on main, which I'm sure mcc wouldn't take well

Nah, I'm Grace, and back in high school *cough* years ago, 'elvisgrace' was the end result of some joke that I can't even remember at all anymore, save that I thought it was hysterical. It's been my username for pretty much anything and everything non-work related ever since, tracing all the way back to the halcyon days of AOL and Hotmail.

TBH, I'm grateful I can't remeber it because no duobt I'd have to commit jigai due to extreme secondhand embarrasment on my younger self's behalf.

Since 2017, but actively posting is a pretty recent development.

Initially it was to follow all the amazing creators posting here so I could snarffle up all the latest cc, then I started using it to upload my stuff as well because creating a website seemed like too much effort.

I probably will one day, but it will only be to mirror/back up all my content here, because I love the community interaction between everyone, and I'd miss it too much.

No, but I have been outraged on individual blog's behalf twice. Once when someone sent @yakumtsaki a kill yourself anon, and again when someone reblogged one of her memes and was shading her in the tags. Collectively, I've felt really bad for all the Russian simblrs, a great deal of the long-standing members of the community who are 100% against the war and have been getting dumped on solely because they are Russian.

How do you feel about ‘you need to reblog this’ posts?

Depends. If I've seen that it's already been reblogged a ton, I don't bother. If it's public/humanitarian interest relating to an ongoing current event, I usually do.

Just took a trip through hermittwt and it was indistinguishable from dsmptwt. I’m so disappointed in them (if anything it’s more embarrassing, scar’s a good 20-something years older than the average twitter stan I’m sure he can handle himself)

yeah thats.... kind of my issue with them as well and why i stepped back a bit from the community, even if I was kinda on the fringes in the first place. the hermits are established adults who know how to behave and handle themselves online, and when an issue arises, they know they have a support system in each other (think xisuma helping tfc write the apology video he released a couple months ago). the way they're very concerned with keeping the feelings of the irl hermits in mind with the content and jokes they make is kinda... silly? to me, because 1) the hermits are adults who can block and mute people as they feel necessary, and 2) fandom isnt for the creators, it's for the fans. That's a sentiment Joe Hills himself expressed on stream in early 2020 when discussing his feelings on shipping. it's cool when creators are involved with fandom (think scott smajor checking in on tumblr's 3rd life and empires memes), but fundamentally, the hermitcraft fandom is for our enjoyment and not for the enjoyment of the hermits. obviously that doesnt mean being completely unrestrained with the kind of jokes/content we make (dont be assholes/bigots, use the agreed upon tagging systems, lock fics to only archive users on ao3 when you want to keep ccs out, and warn when necessary)

that and the fact that they have like, community rules when it's a public subtwt is a red flag for me personally. one of the problems that happened in hermitblr in 2019 was certain users/groups of users trying to force certain mindsets/opinions on the rest of the community and it ended up creating a very toxic environment because people were scared to think differently, whether that was intentional or unintentional. hermittwt has (or has tried to have) a policy of "keeping drama to the dms", too, so they can present themselves as a friendly and approachable subtwt, and it all just. it reeks of toxicity & negativity being bottled up and of groupthink

im sure they're all lovely people, and I've interacted with some of them and theyve been very nice. i just dont think the format/genre of having stan accounts dedicated to hermitcraft really works with hermitcraft as a brand and as a community of ccs, and the way theyve tried to go about handling their community reminds me too much of 2019 hermitblr to feel 100% safe there. that's just my onion tho

I have been redirected from lost to ask you about the peaceful ways of this fandom before antis attacked (/hj) cuz as a new person, all I know is discourse.

I can’t imagine what it’s like for new fans joining just now. I am so sorry, hope you’re still finding it fun enough even with all the hell?

It’s kind of hard to conceptualize how big mcyt’s gotten in recent months to be honest. Every time something from this fanbase breaches containment I’m reminded of how painfully visible it all is.

Now...I wish I could tell you about “the good old days” and how they were so good and peaceful and calm, but I think that’d be looking at things through rose-tinted glasses.

To be honest, the thing about sparking up the discourse and the hatred isn’t even that it’s new. It’s just more constant.

My first exposure to DSMP specifically, and I’ve said this before, was the Pizza Hut situation. DSMP wasn’t really it’s own fandom yet? But, the time that I started actually watching and getting more engaged and following along was...well, a bit on the topical side, actually, but it was #kickschlatt. Mid-July 2020.

My memory of it isn’t perfect — it’s almost been a year now — but to sort of illustrate my point about how the discourse isn’t new but the places it’s coming from are, this situation sparked a huge conflict not really between mcyt fans and non-mcyt fans, but between dttwt, sleepytwt and schlatt’s fanbase. It was a hellhole of infighting. Sleepytwt were angry about Dream banning Schlatt, dttwt pulled one of the first instances I can recall of actually getting a negative hashtag about the SMP trending, which all the CCs thought was immature. But the damage had already been done since everyone mistakenly thought Dream had banned Schlatt because of the hashtag, which...yeah. 

It wasn’t pretty.

The thing about this discourse is that it’s been around for a very, very long time. It’s just that twitter’s not really made much...progress? They’ve just been repeating the same mistakes over and over again as if it would actually end up better this time somehow. They even got a #kick_______ hashtag trending pretty recently and as far as I can tell, most of them hadn't even been there for #kickschlatt. They were repeating history not even knowing they were doing it, and just like last time, it was an ineffective mess that didn’t actually help anything. 

And that, to me, is the big problem here. 

I know we joke about Twitter discourse being six months behind Tumblr, but honestly I don’t think it’s even that? It’s not really that they’re lagging behind so much as they’re just... completely stagnant, really. They haven’t gotten better in a year, they’ve just gotten larger.

It’s the same thing a year later. The thing about it nowadays, is that it’s just the same old crap but more. It’s #kickschlatt but a new one every fucking day.

#kickschlatt didn’t work because CCs aren’t obligated to listen to Twitter, and I really wish the community had learned from that. Instead, they’re just trying it again. Criticism is fine, but you just can’t expect people to always see or hear that critique.

CCs are not your friend. Like, genuinely. Not just for the meme, but actually. And I’m not saying that because of that they’re immune to criticism or something, but when you have people trending ‘tommy neg’ and saying that Tommy’s running from his problems because he’s leaving the app for his own mental health? That he HAS to be listening to them shouting at him or otherwise he’s some sort of horrible person?

That doesn’t sit right with me. 

Like, not to bring out the dreaded p-word, but it kinda strikes me as a little...y’know...slash parasocial. CCs don’t have to listen to you. They aren’t obligated to talk with you or interact with you. You can have discourse and civil discussion amongst yourselves as a community without the CCs even being involved! Hell, that’s how it works on Tumblr. We talk amongst ourselves, we disagree sometimes, but never do we expect a CC to be here watching us saying shit.

Saying that “complaining about Twitter = complaining about minorities” just rubs me the wrong way because like...Twitter’s a platform. It’s a specific community. Minorities aren’t specifically limited to one fucking bird app. When CCs complain about Twitter, trust them to mean that they’re complaining about Twitter.

Yeah...I dunno. Maybe I’m being pessimistic. Maybe it has gotten better in SOME way, but I just haven’t seen it. It’s just gotten more frequent. It’s just gotten nastier and more mean-spirited. For every person trying their best to be helpful and actually educate, there are ten more voices screaming and shouting and drowning them out. The thing about Twitter is that you can’t have a conversation with an angry mob. You can’t turn to a buzzing hivemind of anger if what you’re looking for is guidance.

The thing about the “old days” isn’t that they were without conflict and completely peaceful. It’s just that you had some time to freaking breathe. Nowadays it seems like even something so universally beloved like MCC’s been tainted by that toxicity.

Everybody’s just...angry. all the time.

It’s the natural life cycle of a fandom, I think. When it grows large enough, eventually it’ll have to deal with more and more negativity and hate. Unfortunately for us, a large part of the fandom is on Twitter, which is just...the straight up worst platform you could possibly choose to deal with discourse on.

Tumblr isn’t perfect, but jesus Twitter is built for toxicity. Which is how you get situations like this. It’s how you get entire groups of CCs leaving the app because sooner or later, it gets too toxic to deal with. 

So, here’s a little piece of advice:

This won’t be the last time. 

The next controversy will come, and then the next one, and the next one, and the next one after that. Heck, you probably already know that.

And you know what?

You, a random fan, are not obligated to care about every single thing that happens. Because if you feel like you have to keep up with every little piece of discourse, sooner or later you’re gonna burn yourself out.

So sit back, take a deep breath, relax if you gotta. Fandoms are for fun, not for stress, and I hope you find that here.

Did Cubfan really change his skin because people didn't like the other one? He never said that was the reason iirc, he even said he changed it to something that matched better how he looked irl (except for the glasses, but it's hard to make glasses not look weird on a skin). I've seen plenty of fanart of his other skin, I still see fanart of his other skin even after he changed it

Not saying a lot of people actually didn't like it because it was an old person, that's giving people in this community too much credit, I know many people didn't like it because of that and that's a big problem yeah, I just never saw it as something Cubfan was having a hard time dealing with, to the point where he felt he had to change his skin to appease those people

Don't get me wrong, I also believe ageism most definitely is a prevalent problem in the mcyt community, it's almost like people expect ccs to be these beings of eternal youth that never go through any big life changes, and I think that it's somewhat related to celebrity culture and how mainstream celebrities often get surgeries and treatments to delay the aging process for as long as possible, like being frozen in time or something, which always gives me the creeps when I think about that and I feel really bad for the celebrities who feel pressured into doing it

Getting back on topic, I just think ultimately it was Cubfan's decision alone to change his skin and he wouldn't have done that if he didn't want to, no matter how many people complained about it, it's also not like he's actually an older man irl

He's grown man, yeah, which is why some of the e-boy Cubfan memes and fanart feel really odd and iffy to me, especially since Cubfan himself said his new skin it's supposed to look more like how he looks irl, but that's another can of worms entirely

So--

Someone who's more of a Cub fan (heh) than I am can add onto this if they know of specific quotes/clips where he addresses it. But... buddy you literally said it yourself. He changed it to look more like his irl appearance. Of the 26 hermits, there are... eh. less than half (depending on how you count) who actually have made any effort to have their skin match their actual face. You think Jevin is actually a slime? Or Xisuma is Doomguy? (That is absolutely what Doc looks like though, obviously.) There's literally no pressure in the MCYT community to do look like your irl self. Two of the biggest names in the business are a pig in a crown and a teletubby knockoff.

So why would Cub care?

Because his channel was growing so slowly compared to other hermits. Look at some of the charts reddit has put together over the last few years -- Cub is regularly in the lower end of things, specifically in terms of channel growth. And if you look at the comments on places like Reddit when he rebranded? So many people saying "Oh, I thought he was one of the older hermits" and "I didn't subscribe to him because I thought he was some creepy old guy" or ascribing those opinions to "other fans."

I'm also not sure what makes you say "it was his decision alone" -- as if that was ever debated? No one tied him to the computer and forced him to change it, lol. But he definitely had reasons and from the general reaction of the community when he made the switch there is no doubt in my mind that "I'm not an old man, and people thinking I'm an old man is negatively impacting my channel growth" was a part of it.

Anyway, I'm not sure what you really want me to say here. My tl;dr:

Whether or not Cub said anything about it directly, he changed his skin to look more like himself when he rebranded. He rebranded because his channel wasn't growing as fast as it should have. His channel wasn't growing as fast as it should have because too many potential subscribers (kids, on the overwhelming average) went "Oh, an old guy" and passed him up. This is backed by comments on YT, Reddit, and I know I saw posts about it here when he first changed too.

But you didn't really disagree with me on any of the important points of that post on ageism, you just wanted to go on anon and be somewhat pedantic about one particular thing that is mostly open to interpretation (though the conclusion seems obvious to me) so...

After looking at the mess that is Twitter right now:: I vote for Dream to delete his private Twitter, delete the stan video and make one with specific examples of toxic behaviour, unfollow all stans/fans publically on his other accounts, put all his apologies/controversies in a post on r/dreamwastaken2 since they were on his private and never speak on any issues or address anything ever again. Solely communicate in the wholesome community tab on youtube where no one expects anything other then content.

I mean that would probably be for the best. But Dream is his own person so we can't make that happen. And he has stated he has somewhat of an addiction to Twitter as well.

Dream is a cc who loves interacting with fans and he calls us a handful cause yeah. But as long as Dream feels it's worth it, he'll keep talking to people. I think honestly Dream knows who his real fans are and it's hard with the antis.

But if you watch his discord merch podcasts he's so genuine and he cares so much. Like I wish Twitter would be able to check itself better. But best we can do is keep loving and supporting our cc. Like I watch his content and I buy his merch and that makes me happy and I meme on Tumblr about the DSMP and the ccs and yeah. That's me getting enjoyment out of his content so I'm happy to buy the merch. And because I'm a person who respects other people regardless of what they do for me I will keep bringing attention to his boundaries and holding him as accountable as I'd want people to hold me.

It’s the time of year to make this post again, there might be some sad but there’s plenty of good as well, promise!

In short I want to wish you all the most wonderful transition into a new year, and that you will all have the strengthened mindset to make 2021 a better year despite the hardships that you may or may not go through. With all of my heart, Happy New Year, my loves, and the biggest of hugs and well wishes to you and your loved ones! ♥

This year has been kind of hell, other than the obvious entré of Miss Rona. My friend and I got fucked over by an old friend, lost our flat, I lost all my savings saving my credit, and then I moved in with my partner. I am beyond thankful for the support and love this man has given me, and though the lockdowns and have forced us to be in the same room 24/7 without work or school to go to, I think we’ve made a great job in keeping our sanity. ♥ In a stressful period of not knowing where to live he stepped up and helped me, and for this I will be forever grateful. As I worked through double workload of university assignments, work shifts, then job loss, then the most anti-climactic graduation in the world, he has been by my side. But as the year ends, so does my relationship after just over two years. Second time breaking up around holidays... I don’t recommend it, no fun! Jokes aside though...

I’m once again in a position of looking for a new home, although now as an unemployed person supported only by the government. Being stressed is an understatement, feeling heartbroken is too simple, though being lost feels right on point. I might be going back home to Sweden for a while, while things are slowly stablising, continuing my job search while there. I’ve met my sister and nephews only once in the past year and half, same with my mother. Dad I was lucky to see three times because he came to London for work. I miss my family. My heart really goes out to you who have been forced to distance yourself because of the circumstances.

Because of my current situation I started a patreon for my creations, offering Early Access to my CC. I was so worried about this because when I left the community over a year ago, patreon had a horrendous reputation here! I’m glad there’s a bit of a shift lately. A massive thank you goes out to my patreons, both current and old, for helping me receive a little something for what I love doing. It’s so exciting to see you want to support me and to gain access to my content earlier! It helps me greatly, in so many ways. Creating gives me so much joy and truly is an escape, creatively and mentally.

Through the hardships and annoyances, this year granted me an amazing gift - you all. I decided to come back to the TS4 community as a refreshed creator, reconnecting with a lost hobby, and I was truly welcomed back so warmly. Many, to whom I was previously close, have either become inactive or left the community altogether which made me feel a bit alone. In my want to find new friends I joined Planet Mari, a discord server led by one of the kindest persons I’ve met on here. Through this discord I’ve met likeminded people, oddballs, clowns, creators, storytellers, and artists - all whom I hold SO very dearly today! You all have made my life so much brighter with all the laughs, memes, music, edits, art, stories, helping, joking, etc... it’s nuts how much I love this server. And to all of the community who interact with me and/or my content, you really brighten up my days so much!

It’s a tough time, but I try to hold on tightly to the small joys while chasing a bigger one. Life’s a journey for sure and not always an exciting one! But hey, 2020 brought an enormous amount of change and trials and I for one am stepping into 2021 with a weak smile and small steps, something I am very proud of. You don’t need grand resolutions, a clear focus, high goals, or have everything figured out. Taking it one step at a time is an amazing thing alone after what year we’ve all had.

I wish you all the best, and here’s to another year I hope to fill with fun conversations, loving relations, warm memories, new creations, and exciting adventures - big and small!

Simblr Community Challenge

How long have you been playing the Sims?

I got into it as a teen, around 2008 I guess? I don’t know exactly, I just know that it was at the tail end of the TS2 life cycle. I got the base game and then I think seasons and pets as a birthday gift or something? I don’t know, I just know it was a gift from my parents, and that the packs were dropping in price soon after because TS3 had come out when I was buying the packs. I was absolutely obsessed with it during a good chunk of high school, sorta forgot about it then. However, my laptop broke when I was in university so I had to use my old laptop for a week or so when waiting for the replacement to arrive and just sorta rediscovered TS2 and decided to install it on my new computer.

How long have you been a Simblr, and why did you become one?

I made this blog in 2019, because I wanted to post the rules to the Sixam challenge somewhere. I initially wanted to dump them on the MTS challenge forum and have it over with, but I was turned off by my first interaction with the mods, so I made this instead because I ran a bunch of sideblogs without a main so I started posting gameplay pictures on here.

What type of Simblr are you?

Really active waves of gameplay pictures interspersed with long periods where I just reblog Sims memes or the occasional piece of CC I like and ramble about stuff.

Which generation of Sims do you primarily play?

TS2! It’s partially the nostalgia from it being the generation I played originally, but also because the gameplay just gels the best with me. I like a bunch of the features of TS3 in theory and I love how ambitious the game is, but it just doesn’t support rotational gameplay as well, so I only really go to it if I feel like playing a particular household, so I don’t usually post it. I occasionally post TS4 builds, but not much else.

I’m not going to tag anyone right now because it’s late and I can’t think any more. I may tag people later if I remember.

My Opinion on;

Character in general:  Honestly, I've always had mixed feelings about Sephiroth, whilst I love him as an antagonist, I've always held him partly to blame for Cloud's torment && Aerith's murder. [ && Everyone knows how much I love Aerith. ] But still, he's always been interesting to me. It's clear that whilst he played the villain of the story he was not some box cut out villain && I appreciate this, boy's got layers && we love layers && development. Besides i've always looked at ShinRa as the main antagonists. [ So much so that when I was watching the trailers for the remake, && Aerith went "ShinRa's not the real enemy." I was like.. ??? ] However due to a mixture of replaying the game, being an older consumer [ bby me back then never got very far, bless. ] && interacting with YOUR Sefiroth my opinion of the character has changed && my interest has grown tenfold. 

How they play them:  

If it's ot clear already, I'm in love with your portrayal Maria. Sure I've always thought Sefiroth was also in part a victim of ShinRa, there's little doubt that && I've always thought he was in part controlled by Jenova, but I never really thought too hard on the extent of this nor the implications. Sefiroth is an abuse survivor, you write him with such nuance && give him so much character && just experiences that make him feel layered && real.  I think it really does fit with the themes of the original story && the themes that have been developed over the years, && really how can anyone not admire the amount of care, dedication && creativity you bring to the muse ? I could read endless of your headcanons, or hear you talk about Sefiroth. It's all in the small details, from the pushed toy he had as a child to the world you've build around him making him feel real, reading your thoughts on him...just make sense. && I could go on for days on this. 

The Mun:

Maria, you have always been the kindest to me ooc. You're easy to talk to && very open && it's just pleasant to talk to you. You don't mind when I reply late, you let me cry about Zack to you.  && While I was super nervous entering a new rp community where I knew no one prior, it's kind people like you who have made me feel unbelievably welcome.  I like how chilled out our conversations are, we can scream / cry about our muses but I never feel any pressure to reply right away, nor do I feel guilty when I legit just forget to reply. [ Sometimes I just forget to press send && then feel like a whole DUM. Hahah. ] Anways just want to say thank you for your friendship && your support, you always make me feel supported, no matter how dumb the hc i'm posting is.

Oh && Zack being the most annoying bby brother, it's confirmed he just walks into Angeal && Sefiroth home, helps himself to their food && is their daughter's fave uncle / older brother figure. UwU   [ Also maybe Sefiroth deciding to leave ShinRa as it was hinted out in CC && Zack just...deciding on that moment to come with. Overall Opinion:  MARIA you are kind && talented && for me the rpc wouldn’t be the same without you, i’d really miss reading about your bby. i get and agree with what you're saying but i feel like telling twitter stans “__ is not your friend” or “you’re just a number to __” is ineffective because 1) it’s been memed to the point of meaninglessness anyway and 2) i feel like they do know that to some degree, like they're not thinking dream will be friends with them. but they do think they know him since they can't accept the people you follow have a job to be entertainers and that’s it. they are obviously people too but you cannot interact with them or know them in any way in which their job as online entertainers is separate. also idk how much time you spend on there but i ended up just having to delete twitter altogether because even the seemingly normal people i followed were so quick to participate in toxic behavior or "boost" shitty educational threads written by white 14 year olds lol. i feel like the pressure they put on creators also exists in their own communities where they draw their own lines in the sand, get called out for being insane, draw a new line, then look to whoever in their community is the last to realize the line is different now and blame it all on them. like i remember when it sent everyone into panic george didn't want photoshopped dms of him saying a slur

yeah i agree the “i am not your friend” is just a meme now it doesn’t really hold up against stans rn. i also understand that people Know that they’re not a number, but i just feel like recently it’s gotten to a point where people are Only seeing these things as memes and not actually thinking about the words behind the meme. people know that they wont be friends with ccs but they still think that they have a prominent enough role in a Cc’s life to have a say in it, like who they’re friends with and stuff. i agree w you when you say “ they’re not thinking dream will be friends with them, but they do think they know him” 100%!!!! this is what i was trying to say but obvs i’m not the best at talking/wording things so it didn’t come out that way and probably sounded a lot harsher than i meant it to be 😭

your whole message i agree with, there’s always a line drawn where you “should be” but it constantly changes, i.e. one day rt-ing information is enough, then the next day you shouldn’t only be rt-ing but also writing your own threads, etc etc. tbh i scroll through twitter a lot but i don’t have many mcyt mutuals (i’m still on 5sostwt LOOOL) so i think the mcyt mutuals are bridging on being toxic in the fandom . tbh i think i’m gonna just stop using twitter it always seems like a downer on my day and not an escape anymore
