Working on another idea called the Kingdom of the Forgotten
It's a rewrite of Chip and Dale 2022, this time centralizing on Oswald as the antagonist. Here's a small snippet showing the tone of this version.
Bendy is fun to throw in as well I can't play the game due to all the jumpscares, which cause my POTs to flare. But I'm trying to learn the lore in other ways to include him in this,
This is seperate from the Off the Animation Table AU
------------------
Mickey slowly blinked consciousness returning, groaning as he sat up a hand going to his head. He remembered talking to Oswald and confronting him about his possible highly illegal Bootlegging operation.
"Well well well" his head whipped around at a voice that sounded deep and somehow wet,"Looky who it is," he scrambled back as he was met by a creature dripping in ink its face consumed by teeth, it was a demon toon of some sort however the mouse didn't care to find out more, his heart pounding as the creature slammed a hand down near him leaving an ink splatter
There was more laughter in the shadows as he squeaked curling in on himself, giggles ensued as the light above swayed, showing gleaming pie eyes surrounding them
"Alright, Bendy, you have had your fun. You'll get to have more soon my friend," the creature looked towards the other voice looking disappointed but his body morphed in a sickening blob that writhed until finally a toon emerged it looked like a cutesy Demon from the early rubberhose era, he smiled at Mickey, his pie eyes however shined with a malicious nature
"Of course, Ozzie!" He giggled, skipping towards where the voice came from before the rabbit stepped into the light with a smirk on his face as Bendy and was that Felix, stepped up behind the other,
Oswalds form was not of the Once Upon a Studio design, it was his Trolley Troubles look. However, he wore the same business shirt the sleeves now rolled up as he glared at his little brother, crossing his arms,
"Oswald? Why?" The mouse quickly stood up confusion running through his mind as the rabbit snorted
"Still have your eyes closed? You see Bendy here? That form is the result of experimentation, my son was lobotimized Felix was hit frequently by dip stained whips, all of us have been the victims of Human Primalness, this made us wiser then most,"
"So we can just demand an apology!"
"oh, you naive little mouse, that won't do anything," he shook his head,
"Nothing" Bendy snarled,
"But I wouldn't expect the King of the Known to know what happens to The Forgotten,"
"King of the Known?" Mickey repeated slowly head cocked in his confusion
Oswalds eyes met his, narrowing
"Tell me Michael brother mine, what do you think happens to toons like me? Like Bendy and Felix, ones that humans have forgotten like old toys and play things?"
The mouse paused and thought, he would think they'd be allowed to peacefully retire until they flickered or decayed to the point of non-existence, so that's what he vocalized,
"I would think you'd be told good job and retired to some place peacefully,"
Howls of laughter went through the space Oswald joining in, his friend elbowing him,
"Man Ozzie ya said he's so naive but I didn think he was this deluded!" Came from the Ink demon as Mickey shrunk,
"Told ya Walt's golden boy" the other quipped back, it struck at the mouses core a bit of anger now burning at the name of their creator coming from his brother's mouth like poison,
"We are torn apart Michael,"
"Experimented," came Bendys deeper more sludge like voice,
"Abused," Felix glared
The mouse felt sickened as more joined in shouting what had happened to them after their fame faded,
Assaulted
Burned
Cut open
Tortured
He felt his stomach twisting as Oswald held a hand up, the voices simmering down as he crept closer,
"Your the beloved Mickey Mouse, King of the Known" his brother leaned over with a smile as Bendy giggled and Felix smirked," You know who I am? I am the King of the Forgotten the lost and Mistreated you've met our darling Bendy from the forgotten Joey Drew Studios and you of course know Felix, my brother in law. But I won't dare forget my Citizens! "
Mickeys eye s winced as the Studio lit up before they adjusted and they went wide, hundreds of Black and White toons some dripping others flickered but all glared at the mouse who suddenly realized why Chip and Dale told him not to confront Oswald,
"Welcome to the Forgotten Kingdom!" He threw his arms out as everyone joined him in jeering and laughing,

The Hollywood executives gather around the base of the water tower on Warner Brothers studios. They utter prayers as they walk up the ten thousand steps to where the Oracle sleeps.
Lo! It is Dot Warner! In her regalia as The Oracle of Studio City!
Executive: "O Oracle, the studio system is failing! We are fat upon our merchandising rights, and struggle under the weight of the writer strike. What can we do?"
The Oracle: "Look to the past ye ingrates! Thou hast forgotten the bearings of thine forefathers!Remember the studio crash of the 60s! Remember what ponderous budgets and lackluster production do to the foundations of our nation!"
Executive: "What the, is the path, O Oracle?"
And the Oracle paused, channeling the muse and hallowed Apollo. And the Oracle spake:
The Oracle: "Schlock."
Executives: "But it was banished! Bound to the time prison of 1988, and sealed within the earth! We cannot allow the B Studio system to return!"
The Oracle: "Schlock! I say! Let there be Schlock! The wheel turns! The light of heaven shines upon low-budget watchbait!"
Executives: "I cannot be!"
The Oracle: "Let streaming services collapse at their knees! Let a new generation of directors be forged in the fires of independent cinema! Now is the time of the hidden gem! The cult classic! Let there be unwatchable tripe! Let there be Schlock!"

Propaganda
Greta Garbo (Camille, Anna Karenina, Queen Christina)—Enigmatic and alluring and made me bisexual. The perfect example of the eroticism in silent films that literally transcends text. Could literally not change anything about her expression but you knew by looking at her eyes what she was thinking. She’s so gorgeous.
Kay Francis (Jewel Robbery, I Loved A Woman, British Agent)— kay francis was an icon of glamor in her time and a top star of the 30s - she was the highest-paid actress at warner bros from 1930 to 1936. she tended to play characters who were charming, sophisticated, and elegantly dressed, and starred in at least one legitimate masterpiece, the sublime 1932 comedy trouble in paradise. her first big role was in the marx brothers movie the cocoanuts in 1929, and she and william powell made seven movies together between 1930 and 1932. even in her sillier movies she always elevates the material with her charm and presence - she never phones it in and there’s a sort of warm, knowing wittiness about her. a really good short promo from a retrospective of her movies that i think really gets her Vibe across
This is round 3 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.

"From 1932 through 1936, Francis was the queen of the Warner Bros. lot, and, increasingly, her films were developed as star vehicles. By 1935, Francis was one of the highest-paid actors, earning a yearly salary of $115,000, dwarfing the $18,000 Bette Davis – who would one day occupy Francis's dressing room – made. From 1930 to 1937, Francis appeared on the covers of 38 film magazines, second only to child sensation Shirley Temple's 138." Source: Wikipedia. Kay Francis is like the MOST FAMOUS Actress from the 1930s you've never heard of--and it was her and Norma Shearer who wore and made classic the 1930s tall, slim, bias cut silhouette. She ALSO has a WHOLE PODCAST episode devoted to her life and career in Hollywood--it's fascinating! She is both tough and a total wet cat.

One of the TALLEST Warner Brother stars at 5’9” and known as a “clothes horse” for her glamorous roles wearing the height of 1930s fashion. She fell out of popularity in the 40s, but her 30s work sizzles. "My life? Well, I get up at a quarter to six in the morning if I'm going to wear an evening dress on camera. That sentence sounds a little ga-ga, doesn't it? But never mind, that's my life ... As long as they pay me my salary, they can give me a broom and I'll sweep the stage. I don't give a damn. I want the money ... When I die, I want to be cremated so that no sign of my existence is left on this earth. I can't wait to be forgotten." —From Kay Francis's private diaries, c. 1938
Tumblr media
Garbo:
Tumblr media
A cold-ass Swedish WLW Sphinx. Had plans to murder Hitler that she never got around to. "She will remain always a child of vikings, moved about by a snowy dream."
First of all, she's on the money; that's how much of a treasure she is. She's beautiful in such a distinct way you need very few lines to draw her. (Drawing by Einar Nerman) She managed to be mesmerizing in both silent and sound films. She kissed a woman in Queen Christina (and probably several more in real life). She was super dry and really funny in Ninotchka. She got the hell out of Hollywood and stayed out, living for almost 50 years after her retirement.
Tumblr media
Garbo is one of the many reasons why I'm gay. If you haven't seen Queen Christina please do, She is so gender in that film. Also her accent makes it sound like she's always talking in cursive and it's so hypnotic (or at least I think so).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She's a gay introvert, like all of us here on Tumblr.
Tumblr media
Mysterious and aloof, charismatic and enigmatic, with beautiful androgynous characteristics, Garbo is undoubtedly the most eccentric and unique Hollywood vintage star. Her aversion to fame and stardom makes her even more desirable to the audience, and her insane chemistry with the camera, an actress one of a kind! Her particularity and her oddity is what discerns her strongly from her hollywood co workers at the time, noone was like her and would never be like her. I think, to the utmost extent, that she deserves the title of the hottest vintage star, even though that would be an understatement of what she is!
Tumblr media
SO gorgeous, her thick Swedish accent makes will turn your brain into pudding
Tumblr media
Probabaly a lesbian, absolutely a mood when she retired

Book recs: merpeople
Everything from pretty, magical sirens and selkies to eldritch monstrosities and murderous, scientifically plausible fish-people, merpeople as a whole have a special allure and surprising versatility to them. Allow me to share with you some books!
(Also, did you know that a lot of mermaid books are very queer? If not, you're about to find out!)
Tumblr media
Continue under the readmore for details and my thoughts on the books!
Other book rec posts:
Really cool fantasy worldbuilding
Really cool sci-fi worldbuilding
Dark sapphic romances
Vampire books
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Shape of Water by Guillermo del Toro & Daniel Krauss
Surely this one needs no introduction on tumblr dot com, the monsterfucker site? In 1960s America, Elisa works as a cleaner in a government laboratory when a strange fish creature is brought in to be studied, and an immediate connection sparks between the two.
Black Sun (Between Earth and Sky trilogy) by Rebecca Roanhorse
This isn't so much a mermaid book as a fantasy book in which one of the main characters is of merpeople heritage. In a pre-columbian inspired world, sea captain Xiala travels with a mysterious scarred passenger toward a dangerous goal. Also features bisexual and nonbinary leads!
Ice Massacre (Mermaids of Eriana Kwai trilogy) by Tiana Warner
Young Adult. A small island is forced to defend itself against intruding forces of vicious mermaids. As all men trying to fight them get lured in by their siren song, a ship filled with warrior girls is sent instead. However one of them, Meela, had a complicated past with one of the mermaids, which is brought back to life when the two reunite on the battlefield. Sapphic romance. This one is also available as an ongoing webcomic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant
A research vessel heads towards the Mariana Trench in search of answers of what happened to a ship which mysteriously lost all its crew some time earlier. In the deep dark, something intelligent and hungry awaits them. Very much mermaids of the horror variety. Sequel to a novella. Also contains a sapphic romance, however that is a pretty small part of the plot as a whole.
Our Bloody Pearl (These Treacherous Tides series) by D.N. Bryn
A siren who's been held captive by a pirate is freed, but too injured to survive on their own as their tail has become paralyzed. Another pirate captain decides to help them out and has to work to win their trust. Fairly fluffy and light on worldbuilding and plot (though there is a bit of a revenge story in there), with a focus on character and recovery. m/nb romance with an asexual love interest.
The Deep by Rivers Solomon
Novella. Yetu holds the memories of her people, descendants of pregnant African slave women who were thrown overboard, a past forgotten by everyone but her. But holding the memories alone is slowly destroying her, and she flees to the surface. A look at inter-generational trauma and the scars it leaves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Mermaid's Daughter by Ann Claycomb
A continuation on the classical fairy tale. Kathleen, up and coming opera singer, has suffered from a lifelong and unexplainable stabbing pain in her feet. As both her mother and grandmother died from suicide, possibly due to a similar condition, Kathleen's girlfriend convinces her to try and find out more of her family history. More of a magical realism than a full on fantasy (with a lot of focus on the intricacies of opera) but very beautiful.
Winter Tide by Ruthanna Emrys
Lovecraftian fishpeople! Aphra and her brother are the only survivors after the government raided their home, Innsmouth. Their only living family are the amphibian people of the deep, whom they will one day join, but until then they are bound to land where they struggle to build new lives for themselves after the great loss of their home and loved ones. Then rumors start to spread of a russian agent seeking dangerous and ancient magic, forcing Aphra to involve herself as they try to stop it. Does contain horror elements but is generally a much more optimistic look on cosmic horror than most lovecraftian stories, told from the perspective of one of his monsters. Lots of focus on found family and rebuilding of community. Asexual main character (however I don't think that becomes in-text confirmed until the sequel).
Eelgrass by Tori Curtis
When Bettan, a selkie, has her skin stolen by a man and gets forced into marriage, her best friend Efa is determined to save her. The other selkies however refuse to help, and so Efa seek out the help of dangerous mermaids in the hopes of rescuing her friend. Atmospheric and beautiful, with a very nice balance of platonic love between friends and a (sapphic) romance, both portrayed as equally important.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Moon and the Sun by Vonda N. McIntyre
You can't go wrong with a Vonda McIntyre novel just, like, in general. This one is set in 17th century France, where a young woman and her brother travel to live at the royal court, where they are to care for and study a strange captured sea monster fabled to have the ability to grant eternal life. A lot of focus on court politics as well as the cultural and biological differences between the humans and the mermaid. Also available as a movie (but it's not very good, please just read the book).
Sommaren 1985 by John Ajvide Lindqvist
Including this on the list feels a little mean because it's not yet available in english, but all of the author's other works have been translated (fun fact, he's the writer of internationally acclaimed vampire novel Let the Right One In!) so odds are this one will be as well. It follows a group of young teens in 1985 finding a mermaid tied up on a beach and hiding her in a bathtub in a shed. While the mermaid is important, it's more of a coming-of-age story with few supernatural elements. The author generally writes horror, and while I wouldn't classify this as such it certainly has an ominous atmosphere throughout. Gay main character but no romance (other than sideplots involving other characters).
The Girl from the Sea by Molly Knox Ostertag
Young adult graphic novel. Morgan, a young girl living on an island, meets a selkie with whom she quickly sparks a connection. But Morgan has yet to tell anyone about her feelings about girls, and the selkie has secret motives of her own as to why she chose to come on land. Sapphic romance with enviromental themes. Very pretty art.
Bonus AKA I haven't read these yet but they seem really cool
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Mermaid the Witch and the Sea by Maggie Tokuda-Hall
Young adult sapphic fantasy featuring not only mermaids but also pirates!
Out of the Blue by Jason June
A young merperson must leave the sea to undergo a coming-of-age journey - and risk getting stuck on land forever.
Teeth by Hannah Moskowitz
A boy living on an isolated island befriends a merperson with dangerous secrets.
Honorary mentions AKA these didn't quite work for me but maybe you guys will like them:
The Seafarer's Kiss by Julia Ember (sapphic little mermaid retelling from Ursula's perspective), Weird Fishes by Rae Mariz (enviromental novella), The Fate of Stars by S.D. Simper (fantasy, sapphic enemies to lovers)

8 Characters who should appear in Young Justice Season 5
Tumblr media
Hoping and praying for another season of Young Justice is something I'm very used to.
After its initial cancelation way back in 2013, Young Justice was revived for a third season on DC Universe, DC's attempt at a streaming service, and lived past that to get a fourth season on HBO Max.
It is now under hiatus with no current plans at a fifth season.
I however will continue to remain hopeful for another season. Young Justice (with the exception of the Harley Quinn animated universe) is my favorite version of the DC Universe. With an exceptional voice cast, a focus on younger more relatable heroes, and a realistic political element to a superhero world, Young Justice cements itself not only as one of the best DC animated shows, but one of the best pieces of superhero media.
So while I have nothing but time until Warner Bros sees the gem that they have and give us a fifth season, I thought I'd pitch the characters I'd most like to see in the next season.
Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti, if you're reading this, know if you don't put these in, I trust the season will be great anyway.
But you know, consider it!
*Spoiler Warning for Every Season of Young Justice*
The Bad Boys of the Bat Family
Tumblr media
Let's start with the obvious!
Jason Todd AKA The Red Hood has been teased ever since Season 2, and while has made a few appearances, we have yet to see the menace he can be to both Bruce and The Bat Family.
I particularly want his story to tie in with Tim, who has only been seen to be the loyal soldier to Bruce. This can be an opportunity to reflect upon the life, and how Bruce's trauma trickles down.
Another Bat pairing I'm itching to see is Damian Wayne and Nightwing. The blood son and the favorite son can lead to some fun comedic beats and a lot of tension for the team.
Whatever team they decide to position Damian on, it could lead to disaster. Damians presence can also lead to less trust amongst superheroes, as he is a known killer, and Robin is a pretty public title in the Young Justice universe.
The Forgotten Sidekick
Tumblr media
Sometimes even sidekicks need sidekicks!
For those not in the know, Gear was an original character for the DCAU show Static Shock, Virgil's best friend Richie.
Using technology, including a robotic backpack and flying boots, he was simultaneously Virgil's guy in the chair and right hand man in the field.
Static has been on the show for multiple seasons, but really hasn't had much to do since season 2. Giving him a protege of his own while paying homage to what came before.
Speaking of what came before...
The Final Titans
Tumblr media
Who doesn't want a Titans reunion?
In Season 3, Cyborg was introduced into the fold and Beast Boy was given a much more expanded role. Ever since, I've been waiting for the Daughter of Trigon and the Tamaranean Princess to arrive.
An episode where the 5 Titans meet for an impromptu mission would be a lot of fun, perhaps battling one of their classic villains like Brother Blood or Deathstoke!
In the long run, both characters fit very well into the already established universe.
Raven would make an interesting member of Zatanna's Sentinels of Magic, and Starfire would be right at home with Forager and Miss Martian as aliens on Earth.
Would it be fan wish fulfillment? Absolutely, but Young Justice has done it before. In Season 4, Razer of Green Lantern Animated Series was given one of the best episodes, continuing his arc to find Aya.
I'm not sure how you could get all these characters and one of the Robins together for a mission, but I'll leaving the writing up to the experts.
The Incompetent Time Traveler
Tumblr media
We've had the Legion, we've had Bart, but we have yet to have a time traveler who has no idea what he's doing.
Enter: Booster Gold.
Booster Gold is a fan favorite character across comics and animated media. He is a failed football athlete in the 25th Century, who steals tech in the future to pretend to be a hero in our time.
The character is soon to enter James Gunn's DCU, and recently made his Arrowverse debut in Legends of Tomorrow, played by Donald Faison, right before the show got cancelled (I bring this up mainly because he deserved a shot at voicing him and it could be a fun nod).
Boosters interference with the timeline could lead him to the worlds only time traveling expert, Bart Allen, effectively making him the Outsiders responsibility.
The character also leaves the door open to potentially a big bad, and maybe even thee big bad of the season....
The Professor
Tumblr media
Much like General Zod and the Kryptonians became an overarching threat for Season 4, making it a Superboy/Superman focused season, I think it's high time the Speedsters of the team have a new threat.
Professor Zoom or the Reverse Flash is Barry Allen's greatest enemy. Another future man of the 25th Century, Eobard Thawne was a brilliant scientist, so opposed with The Flash, he decided to become his greatest enemy to become part of the story.
Reverse Flash has quite a few similarities with Bart actually. Future speedster hoping to be a part of the story and change the timeline for "the better". It would be an interesting rivalry between them.
While I would like him as the big bad of the season, I understand we JUST did a time traveling menace
My potential pitch would be Reverse Flash needs access to our time now for a power source, something to bring his power to the next level. Something or someone with Speed Force to spare, making him a battery for Eobard. So I believe Reverse Flash has returned to the past to get...
The Prodigal Son
Tumblr media
Did I write this piece just to pitch a Wally West return season?
Yes. Yes I did.
Young Justice has left just enough wiggle room for Wally to return. We never hear about his soul, we never found a body, and Wally has been trapped in the Speed Force in the comics before.
Most notably, The Speed Force has not been mentioned yet. Currently, I don't believe any speedsters actually know it exists.
Eobard showing them the speed force and releasing Wally to drain his power, only to be foiled by the team, would not only bring back Wally, it could make him the Fastest Man Alive.
Wally becoming the Flash could be his arc of the season, which I argue would’ve been his destiny if Bart didn’t save Barry’s life.
Giving us a Wally with a power boost, lost time and lost love could lead to a lot of drama and potential for storytelling.
And of course, an Artemis/Wally reunion is well in order.
Tumblr media
Again, if none of these characters make an appearance in the next season, I’d still just be happy there’s a season at all.
But time will tell if I’m right.

Every now and again, I think of how Kathryn Warner wrote about Blanche and Philippa of England in her book about pre-WOTR Lancaster and York and get mad.
The king’s elder daughter Blanche of Lancaster had already married, in July 1402 when she was only 10 years old. She wed the elector Palatine of the Rhine, Ludwig von Wittelsbach, and died childless in 1409 at the age of 17. Her younger sister Philippa married Erik of Pomerania, King of Sweden, Denmark and Norway, and a first cousin of the late Anne of Bohemia, Richard II’s queen. Philippa and Erik had no surviving children, and although Henry IV had six legitimate children he had only one legitimate grandchild, Henry V’s son Henry VI. (His sons also fathered several of the illegitimate kind.)
a) Blanche did not die childless. Rupert the English existed.
b) surely there is more to say about Blanche than "she died childless"? You couldn't even mention her famous crown?
c) Ludwig became Elector Palatine the year after she died, not before he married her.
d) what a terrible summation of Philippa's life. She married! She died! She had no surviving children! What, not even "she was the first recorded European princess to wear white at her wedding"? Not even "she died following a stillbirth"?
e) SHE DEFENDED COPENHAGEN AGAINST THE HANSEATIC LEAGUE WHILE HER HUSBAND STAYED IN AN ABBEY PRAYING.
f) I'm so glad we know how exactly Erik of Pomerania was related to Anne of Bohemia and got a reminder of who Anne was. I'd completely forgotten who Anne was despite the fact she's been mentioned in the previous chapters fairly often and the helpful "who's who" guide provided. That's incredibly important information to know. I'm so glad we spent presumably limited word count on that detail and not talking about Blanche and Philippa as individuals.
(n.b. obviously this is interesting and I'm not mad to know this but I am mad that this is considered important enough information to include but nothing about the girls' lives or actions. This, after all, was a book about the Houses of Lancaster and York, not "Anne of Bohemia's family tree". And really, if you wanted to drag Anne in, you could at least mention how Ludwig's father deposed Anne's brother? Give us a sense of the context Blanche married into? I just.. the obvious minimal fucks given here.)

Lost, Found, and Rebuilt (The Thief and the Cobbler)
Tumblr media
Back in high school I found myself on the lost media side of the internet. It's no secret that there is a lot of lost media out there, some was released then forgotten, others were abandoned. Then there are some examples that were technically released, but are more just a version of the original. This was the first example of lost media I've ever come across, the Thief and the Cobbler.
This is an interesting story. Back in 1964 Richard Williams began work on a film that he planned to be his magnum opus based on a book series from a friend. Seeing the animation in even just the version that was released shows great attention to detail, beautiful animation, and amazing designs. The film was intended to take full advantage of animation. Even the movement of characters is a marvel to look at. You can take nearly any frame and put it up in the louver, it is just a joy to look at.
Here's where the fun part begins, the version of the film that was released to the public came out in 1993, 29 years after production began. What the heck happened? Well a lot of things, time management, lack of funds, complete rewrites, and the original author of the books pulling out due to a fallout. The timeline is also littered with big budget animation films he worked on, like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, smaller movies like Raggedy Anne, and TV ads to pay the bills. Keep in mind that this was largely done by Williams and a team he hired without any studio supervision. Turns out there are some benefits to having a contract, like money.
Eventually Williams did find a publisher in Warner Brothers to fund his project, but he continued to miss deadlines and was booted off of the project. It was then decided to just get the movie out the door to put something out there. The version that the public saw was full of pop culture references, unnecessary narration, musical numbers despite the film not being a musical, and odd gags.
Williams defeated gave up on his masterpiece, but that was not the end of the story. In 2006 the greatest fan project began called the Recobbled Cut. This is a project with the aim to bring back the film in Williams original vision. With connections in the animation industry, this community managed to gather art, clips from DVD's, film, and scripts from studios and people who worked on it. One story says that there was film found in a trash can of all places.
Since 2006 this project has been steadily rebuilding The Thief and the Cobbler from the ground up. Completing scenes that never saw the light of day, restoring old film, and making the colors more vibrant, all of which breathing in new life in this film. The restoration project is currently on its fourth version, available on this YouTube channel, which also has some more works from Richard Williams.
Richard Williams did not talk about the Recobbled Cut, but some people say it had his approval. Williams passed away in 2019 never seeing the film completed, but this film has possibly become one of the greatest things on the internet, despite still being a work in progress.
Quick note:
I got the details for this post from this article, which incidentally directed me to the current version of the Recobbled Cut.

Once seen and never forgotten, "The Dover Boys at Pimento University or the Rivals of Roquefort Hall" to use the full title, is a non-stop assault on the viewer's funny bone. It takes an axe to the "Americana" films of the Second World War era that took refuge in a sentimentally remembered 1890s, but it also plunges wholeheartedly into the bizarre, a factor that keeps later generations enjoying "The Dover Boys" and hailing it as Chuck Jones' first masterpiece [...] The characters strike unnatural poses and move in idiosyncratic ways, Dora gliding along as she were on wheels under her dress, Dan Backslide leaping from pose-to-pose and an inebriated sailor strolling in an eccentric gait, never to be seen again [...] No longer was Jones to odd, humorless person out at Termite Terrace. He had become a force to be reckoned with.

Nights Like These (Room 11)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Regulus x reader
Word Count: 1.6k
Warnings: smut, angst, swearing, drinking
Description: You and Regulus meet up at the Leaky Cauldron following another night of curses and killing where you engage in the same routine that is tearing you apart.
Author’s Note: Helloooooo! I would highly recommend you listen to I’m So Afraid by Fleetwood Mac either before or while you read this (at the end of this a/n and linked here)! This is one of the many songs I feel captures Regulus’ short life experience, relationships, loneliness, and his whole broody, melancholic demeanor. The song also inspired this little fic. Enjoy! – Iz
Tumblr media
The shriek of a young girl pierces the ominous silence that overtakes the dark and dank alley. A jagged, crimson bolt of light strikes her in the side, causing the girl, on her knees, to arch backwards in agony. The bolt of light spiders out all over her body, overtaking her heaving sobs. She begins convulsing, falling back onto the cold, hard and filthy cobblestones. Choking sounds emanate from her throat as foam flows from the side of her mouth. Green light flashes over her body and she stills. There is no light in her eyes, only the reflection of her wand, disarmed from her and long forgotten. Her name was Rosyann Spire, a muggle-born witch, and she had just finished her fifth year at Hogwarts six days ago.
Regulus sits on the edge of a sizeable four-poster bed inside Room 11 of the Leaky Cauldron, your usual room. His eyes are closed, he’s breathing deeply, and his knuckles are turning white as he clutches the glass of firewhiskey in his hand. He opens his eyes, bloodshot from drinking and weeping, and he knocks back the remaining whiskey in his glass. Regulus falls back onto the bed, closes his eyes again and breathes deeply, trying to suppress…what was it? Anger? Helplessness? His seemingly unrelenting need to please everyone?
The wizard is shaken from his moment of self-pity as you apparate into the room.
            “You’re late,” Regulus scolds.
“Sorry—” you start, reaching in front of you to unbutton the top of your cloak and tossing it on the chair sitting in front of a panel of three windows. “Apparated into the wrong damn room again! I had to go all the way down to the bar and ask the goblin which room you were in,” you explain.
“Not my fault you’re shit at apparating. Don’t know who in the Ministry you bribed for that license,” Regulus says.
You raise an eyebrow at him. “Someone’s in a mood…” you playfully quip.
“Nope, just stating facts, darling,” Regulus replies. You walk over to the bed and plop down next to the young Death Eater, eyes scanning the room. The wood is unstained but ornately carved, and it looks like it belongs in a castle hidden somewhere on the moors rather than inside the Leaky Cauldron’s humble walls.
“And the goblin has a name. It’s Gwynok,” Regulus adds. Your eyes land on the empty glass tumbler the wizard holds atop his sternum.
You both had only just graduated from Hogwarts a fortnight ago and haven’t seen each other since that day. A witch and wizard thrust into the real world, one that was increasingly dark and terrifying. But, of course, you weren’t the only ones. Your classmates, most of them choosing to side with either the Order of the Phoenix or the Death Eaters, while others didn’t pick a side and retreated into the shadows, kept their heads down.
You look down at the man you once called the love of your life. Regulus lay on his back, his belly rising and falling in rhythm with his breaths. He matches your gaze as he drums his fingers on the glass a few times before the glass levitates out of his hands and onto the nightstand nearby.
“Do you want to talk about it?” you ask.
            “Not yet.”
            “Ugh, why not?”
“Don’t ask questions you already know the answer to, love,” he quips.
Regulus reaches out and grazes up and down your arm. The two of you sit in near-silence like this for a long moment with only the faint chatter and laughs from the street permeating the stillness.
Without warning, he pulls you down to him. The kiss starts out gentle but turns frantic as he grabs onto your face and sliding his tongue along yours. As reserved as Regulus Black is in front of, well, everyone, he makes up for it with unbridled, almost clumsy passion once he’s in private.
He rolls on top of you and reaches for the hem of your shirt, pulling it up and over your head before tugging at your bra. He brings his lips back to yours the slowly moves down your neck and across your breasts. Regulus attempts to quickly unbutton his black button-up. The firewhiskey sure isn’t helping. As he undoes the final button and shrugs off the dress shirt, you’re grabbing at his belt buckle and sliding his trousers down shortly after.
The rest of his clothes are thrown somewhere on the shabby wooden floor along with yours. Regulus climbs back on top, lining himself up. You both let out sighs as he enters. Regulus buries his face in your neck and tightly shuts his eyes as he begins to move. His movements are sharp, rough, and deep. Your moans sound out in a pointed staccato, a mixture of pain and pleasure. Regulus quickens his pace as you grip his behind. The whole act is rushed and desperate. You both let out a series of moans loud enough for the witch staying in the room across the hall to hear. Your sounds soon dissipate into short sighs and heavy breaths. Regulus allows a relieved “fuck” to escape his mouth, punctuating your brief moment of intimacy. He stays cuddled up against you, and you drag one of your hands through his long, raven curls, closing your eyes in the process.
Neither of you can help the images and sounds that flash through your minds – the Prophet headline announcing the capture and torture of fifteen muggle-born witches and wizards; the shouting of Unforgiveables, the shrieks the cries, the begging and pleading, and his ivory, deformed face. Evil Incarnate. You Know Who.
Regulus eventually gets up and walks to the bathroom, leaving the door open. Moments later, you hear the sink faucet running.
“We’re probably going to have to stop this soon,” he says.
            “I don’t see why…”
Regulus cuts off the faucet. “Are you kidding?” He walks back into the room, finding his underpants and pulling them back on before rejoining you on the bed. “With the way this war is going, we’ll be lucky if we’re alive in two months!”
“You really have that little faith in us, huh? Now’s not the time to go all soft, Reg.”
“I’m not going soft. You calling me a coward now?”
            “I didn’t say that.”
Regulus glares at you before looking down at his lap, frowning. You sit up and grab him by the shoulders.
“Look at me.” He fights the urge to obey you only for a moment before meeting your concerned gaze. “You are one of the bravest people I know, Reg.” He shakes his head, dropping his head down again. You lift his chin with your fingers. “I mean that. You, Regulus Arcturus Black, are no coward.” You pull him into an embrace. “I’m scared, too. Terrified actually. The Order is going crazy right now and… obviously it’s warranted given what’s already happened… I mean, Merlin, Marlene’s whole fucking family is gone.” It’s your turn to drop his gaze briefly. “But we have each other. We have to have each other,” you say.
“If we don’t do this, who else will? It’s us making this sacrifice…” Regulus counters. You shrug, only offering him a pained smile that he can’t even see. You squeeze him harder, trying to remember every dip and curve of his upper body. Regulus winces, jerking away from the hug and grabbing at his left forearm. The edges of his Dark Mark begin burning as the obsidian ink swirls. The serpent slithers through the skull at the top of the cursed tattoo as it it’s alive. He’s calling.
“I have to go,” Regulus announces as he rises from the bed and hunts for the rest of his clothes strewn on the floor. He’s trying to hide his anxiety but you see the way his hands shake as he pulls his clothes from the floor.
“Four weeks, Regulus.” He looks up at you as he smooths out his dress shirt, scrunching his nose at the wrinkles. He never liked looking unpresentable.
“I’ve already informed Kreacher of my plans. We’ll be ready.” Regulus waves his hand at his cloak, which floats from the closet on the far wall across the room and swiftly slides up his arms. He pockets his wand from the nightstand and takes one final look around. His jade eyes land on you. “About time we say goodbye to this rickety old place anyway, eh?” he asks. The wizard doesn’t leave you any time to reply. He disappears into a stream of onyx smoke that sweeps out of the room’s open window and into the dark London skyline.
You watch until the sound of a drunk wizard harassing someone on the street breaks you from your daze. We’ll be saying goodbye to all of this soon enough, you muse, clutching the bedcovers closer to your chest.

What people may not realize about how I write Oswald Mickey and Felicity,
Oswald is the eldest he's the charismatic older brother that yes got forgotten like many eldest children he's still up to mischief but he's got a touch of Looney Tunes in him from being friends with Bugs while he was at Warner Universal. He's not afraid to say fuck in a Disney Setting, let alone his temper.
Felicity is the reason the rules exist but has certainly calmed down in her later years and is very content with her husband and two children. You don't see much out of her anymore however if push comes to shove she's right there,
And then you have Mickey or Michael Mouse, who for a while didn't seem like the trouble making youngest sibling. Don't let this fool you he was just on a leash once that leash is let off
Prepare for Mayhem, the rules do not exist for this mouse, and he will use his Fame to get out of trouble. He's got a good heart and is very kind to those that don't piss him off, he's got a bone to pick with the Disney Company anymore and is the one that they hilariously have to wrangle in the most of the time.
He's made friends with the Looney Tunes and can be as bad as Bugs at times with how clever and slippery he can be.

Hii bestie 💙
So since I read doppelganger and you mentioned Sawyers brother can I maybe know more about him?
In a small fic maybe? 💙
Because I’m super curious 👀
Thanks so much 💙
Hi Babe!❤️
Thanks for the question. Sawyer is the oldest of four siblings. Her brother Warner was #2, followed by two younger sisters. Warner was showered with a lot of attention when they were kids, their parent never wanting him to feel forgotten. To a degree, he was spoiled by their parents. Sometimes it felt unfair to Sawyer how much time and money they invested in Warner's extracurricular activities compared to her own. As a result, he excelled at sports. He was captain of the football team and a star basketball player. He was in the popular crowd at school and never had any trouble finding dates.
Tumblr media
Warner is attractive, and boy does he knows it. He struts around like he's a super model. And if there's a mirror nearby, trust, he's checking himself out.
Tumblr media
After high school, he went to college on a football scholarship, but dropped out after the first year. Somewhere along the way, status became very important to him. His top priorities became wealth and appearance. He wanted to make money and look like he had loads of it. He has changed jobs several times since leaving college, always looking for the next get-rich-quick path.
Tumblr media
While he has many friends and acquaintances fooled, his parents and sisters see right through the façade. Deep down Sawyer loves him, but she really can't stand to be around him for too long. He's just an ass sometimes. (Like he was here.) He wants people to think he's funny, but most of his jokes just end up offending someone. Since Sawyer was already away at school for most of Warner's high school and college years, she didn't have to put up with too much of his conceit. But the younger sisters who had to live with him...they call him out on his shit all the time. They are so over it.

Propaganda
Elisabeth Welch (Song of Freedom, Big Fella, Dead of Night)— Starry-eyed, honey-voiced, magnetic. A Broadway star in the 1920s, she SHOULD have become a torch-singing Hollywood star when talking pictures came in. Instead she was faced with Hollywood racism, so she moved to Europe and juggled British movie roles and a top-class cabaret career. (Heard the classic songs "Stormy Weather" or "Love For Sale" or "As Time Goes By"? She introduced them all.) You need to hear her croon, so here she is co-starring with certified hot vintage man Paul Robeson [video below the cut]
This is round 2 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.

Jewel Robbery clip
Tumblr media

Character ask: Bob Cratchit (A Christmas Carol)
Tagged by anonymous
Favorite thing about them: How kind, gentle, and warm-hearted he is, and how much he loves his wife and children.
Least favorite thing about them: Hard to say... there's virtually nothing to dislike about him. But some might argue that he's too patient and resigned to his hard life. For example, when he raises a toast of gratitude to Scrooge as "the founder of the feast" on Christmas: of course it shows his generous spirit in contrast to Scrooge, but it might also send an unfortunate message of how "the deserving poor" react to their oppressors. At least in most versions, his wife is allowed to be bitter.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I try to be gentle and polite and avoid conflict.
*I enjoy spending time with children.
*I love Christmas.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I don't have a spouse or children of my own.
*For now at least, I don't live in poverty.
*I'm female.
Favorite line:
When his wife asks him how Tiny Tim behaved in church:
“As good as gold, and better. Somehow he gets thoughtful, sitting by himself so much, and thinks the strangest things you ever heard. He told me, coming home, that he hoped the people saw him in the church, because he was a cripple, and it might be pleasant to them to remember upon Christmas Day, who made lame beggars walk, and blind men see.”
And in the vision of the family mourning Tim's death:
"But however and whenever we part from one another, I am sure we shall none of us forget poor Tiny Tim—shall we—or this first parting that there was among us?... And I know, I know, my dears, that when we recollect how patient and how mild he was; although he was a little, little child; we shall not quarrel easily among ourselves, and forget poor Tiny Tim in doing it.”
brOTP: His children, especially Tiny Tim, and Scrooge after he becomes a friend.
OTP: Mrs. Cratchit.
nOTP: Any of his children.
Random headcanon: After his fortunes improve thanks to Scrooge's redemption, when Tiny Tim is well and all their past concerns are behind them, Bob and Mrs. Cratchit will have a seventh child. The Annotated Christmas Carol points out that the Cratchits can be viewed as idealized versions of the Dickens family in young Charles's childhood, with the children corresponding in gender and birth order to himself and his siblings: Martha = Fanny, Peter = Charles himself, Belinda = Letitia, unnamed girl = Harriet, unnamed boy = Frederick, Tiny Tim = Alfred. But there's no equivalent of the youngest Dickens brother, Augustus, presumably because he wasn't born until Charles was a teenager. So I imagine that there will be another Cratchit son born after the events of the story.
Unpopular opinion: At the end of the "Tiny Tim's death" vision, he's not pretending when he says "I'm very happy." Whenever I see someone write that he "pretends to be happy" it doesn't ring true. Yes, his cheerfulness at the start of the scene is feigned, before he finally breaks down crying, but by the end, I'd like to think he takes real comfort in knowing that Tim will never be forgotten and that the memory of his goodness will always be an inspiration to the family. It doesn't erase his grief, but it's not just a facade either.
Song I associate with them:
