Just to clarify, a bunch of little groups cooperating with a common goal in mind is usually perfectly bengin, and necessary to get anything to happen, ever.

Having one biiiiiiiiiiig group though, that sets off alarm bells.

This isn't a bad undertale opinion but I think mullets are bad and ugly forever "but what about the modern version of the mullet-" THAT ISN'T A MULLET, THAT IS SOMEONE WHO NEEDS TO GET THE SIDES OF THEIR HEAD SHAVED AGAIN TO TOUCH UP THE MULLET. It's not a mullet in the same way that when my own stupid specific multi-length haircut isn't RIGHT when it's overgrown so I need to get it cut. The overgrown mullet is something else entirely, like a wolf cut.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE SIDES SHAVED IT ISN'T A MULLET, IF THE TOP IS THE SAME LENGTH AS THE BACK, THAT ISN'T A MULLET (it's a failed mohawk). If my haircut was used by someone else but they got rid of the bangs, that's not the same haircut, if someone took my haircut but shortened the side pieces until they were nearly the same length as the back stuff, then that's a different haircut, or if they grew out the back so it was nearly the same length as the front long bits then it's NOT THE SAME.

If you look up mullet right now you'll see people with medium-short length hair who've combed it back and are claiming it's a mullet!

so, full disclosure, i'm white, so i'm not qualified to talk about racism in-depth and don't wish to get into it. but i feel like the people who say undyne is racist because she hates humans have only the shallowest understanding of what racism even is. I can only imagine they think racism is simply hating people for their ancestry--in this case, hating someone for being a human. but... racism is way more complicated than that, and it ignores the many legitimate reasons Undyne--as well as other monsters--might fear and hate humans. But it seems that context doesn't matter to people like this. hating people is bad, therefore, undyne is bad. the end.

it suggests a very simplistic worldview where a single bad action, even if later atoned for or corrected, renders you a bad person forever. It doesn't matter why you did it, even if you were misled or misinformed, because it was bad and you should have chosen to be good instead--but you didn't, so now you're irredeemable. It paints everyone who isn't a perfect angel as a hypocrite, because if you were really good, you wouldn't do bad things like lying, hating, or [reads smudged words on palm] manipulating people by trying to give them advice about making better choices? yeah. we're talking serious circular logic and mental gymnastics here, and insisting on seeing every "bad" action as proof of bad morals.

it's a very close-minded approach to the world... and it completely misses the point of a game about having compassion and understanding even for people who are very different from you. i'm baffled why these folks bother engaging with undertale at all.

I swear I'm trying to type out the thing about my brain but I'm really not sure how much detail I feel comfortable going into... personally I don't think a half boss monster would be possible, so I'd say no. because like, when a boss monster parent dies, is their half boss monster kid then half immortal? I'm not sure how that would work but it sounds overly complicated ahah

in my own headcanons, boss monsters' children will always be boss monsters themselves, even if the other parent is a regular monster (and the kid will always be a hybrid of that regular monster type, as boss monsters are long lines of hybrid monsters). so my Soriel kid Neue is a full boss monster who happens to be very skeletal, and when she's born Toriel then ages at a normal rate :>

for the Undertale fandom opinions this might've been said before but I really hate all the sans aus tbh no offense to the people who made them or enjoyed them it's totally cool if you like those things but I really hated how everyone tore sans from undertale to put him on a pedestal to the point where characters that would fit better in the aus are replaced with Sans even though sans is ALREADY THERE??? (For example dream tale. Why are there two sans. Papyrus is RIGHT THERE.) They turned sans into more of an oc/ oc insert and it always upset me I think someone else made a post about it but I cannot find it they were specifically talking about dream tale but this happens in most aus

I do have a few minor complaints about how they adapted the Sazed scene (don't know why they felt the need to change his name? But he's Sazed to me I don't care) but they're pretty hugely drowned out by how well they did Merle and Magnus' offers so I won't go into my very mild complaints now, maybe I'll talk about it later if I can ever get the time or energy to do my own version of that scene but eh, it was okay but nothing spectacular I don't think, very much drowned out by how good Magnus and Merle's were. That's pretty much my opinion on it, it was alright but didn't really stick out to me either way

#it wasn't incredibly good‚ wasn't incredibly bad‚ it was just 'eh'. it was alright #i have kinda mixed feelings about the therapy line too (cuz i like him getting therapy it just kinda feels off considering the timeline?) #but like again that's a very very minor thing and not really worth going into at 1 in the morning #his story just didn't stand out like either of the other's did #i feel like his lines about getting help and moving on would've felt more impactful if they kept more of the foreshadowing #and built up to it more like we got in the show. and also cut down on the SiU!wT gloating that wasn't in the original series #he.... didn't really seem to have many (if any) issues with cooking before the scene with Angus and they cut that down a LOT #so i just don't think it really landed very well in my opinion #never really seemed to get torn up about it so between that and the timeline issues the therapy line doesn't impact a ton in my opinion #but eh‚ relatively minor stuff i suppose. sure i wish they did it more emotionally but it could've been done way worse #so being completely average in every way actually exceeded my expectations a bit lmao #taz gn spoilers #taz spoilers #the adventure zone spoilers

Why does “Dark Woods Circus” have to be so hard to sing

#To be fair I *did* slather it thick with a lot of super-unnecessary voice acting so it’s probably not that hard if I sang it normally #There’s a part where I have to distort my voice and make it smoky/mysterious/intrigued (“happy despite their STRANGE appearances”) #In Japanese the part where it goes: へんなけれど specifically #Like that “the LAST surviving dinosaur of the Amazon Rainforest” tone of voice #Basically I put a lot of air into a few low-mid notes (results in me partially closing off my throat in an attempt to lighten my voice) #while trying to project it loudly and hit a low note at the end of it (the low note suddenly switches to a full gravelly quality) #and I “grind” the airy mid notes like I do my D3 — A2 range to make it masculine-ish #but the problem is because the note I’m hitting is all air I have nothing of substance to project #and nothing to “grind” except my actual throat against itself #It obliterates my vocal chords #Obliterates them completely #So that I can only do it once or twice before my voice is wholly unusable for the song if I were to try it again #my neighbors probably think I’m getting tortured in here shdbdbdjbddjnd #between the fake crying and random guttural hacking from losing my low range (imagine that: a contralto losing her low range; sheesh) #I’d post it but… certain parts are too bad to be displayed (in my opinion) #The first try isn’t technically bad but I’m not in character because it’s the first try so it sounds weird #The second try is technically horrible but I am 100% In The Zone with regard to character voices #ugh #Someday I’ll get a good take #Someday I’ll be able to properly reproduce the vocals I hear in my head #If I have a voice left (don’t worry I’m chugging water) #hhhhhhhhhhh #No trust me it’ll sound great when I perfect it #by then I’ll be a little bent-over granny in my retirement log cabin… unironically in the middle of the woods #probably in Ireland because I heard it rains a lot there and I like rain #Yes
