Consolation Prize. There is nothing I love so much as a punne or play on words, especially when it can apply in multiple scenarios. This being a fic that was very much focused on care and comfort (two things I tend to write little of), I went back and forth on titles a few times before picking this one because console - consolation (Megamind's care for Roxanne after a much more violent kidnapping) and prize (as in treasure, as in Roxanne) and also consolation prize as a term for getting something after missing out on the top spot (the kiss Roxanne almost gives him before she remembers he's got blood in his teeth). The fact that he's not winning, and neither is she, but they've both still won something (a greater understanding and connection that one day might be something more...)

Hi anon! The five eccentrics are five particularly talented idols from Yumenosaki.

Back in the war era, Eichi hatched a plan that involved making these five idols basically worshipped by others - then painted them as awful people who were hoarding all the jobs and had them "executed" by the regular students.

Fun sidenote: Wataru, Rei, Shu and Kanata were the ones originally thought of. Natsume was basically selected because Tsumugi ran into him and, only knowing that the eccentrics plan involved them being Elevated above the rest, suggested to Eichi that he be made into the fifth. He's still super talented but in theory not a Genius like the other four. hehe

Quail Hunting, there so much visual atmosphere and visual subtext I'd die to put into a film. Probably also Maggot Tongue as like a comic. Devil Schlatt would go CRAZY in visual medium. Also the fic I keep promising but am still working on would be so good as a film
