THE PRESSURE IS ON!! I‘m just going to list my general opinions, because tbh you have covered their specific dynamics way better than I ever could.

Gregstophe (which I have not been able to stop myself from pronouncing as ‘greg-stoph-ee’, which I KNOW is not the right way but the way I do it anyway) was definitely one of the earlier ships I got into, if I remember correctly? It was never exactly on OTP level for me, because style really was my absolute favorite from the very beginning, but the gregstophe niche very much appealed to me in a lot of ways. Despite appreciating it as a ship fairly early on, my fanfiction exploration was very limited, and my fanart exploration - keep in mind I had not yet had a South Park tumblr account at that point in my life - consisted basically of typing ‘gregory and christophe fanart south park’ into Google.

I didn’t have much of a choice on the fanfiction, though! Even now, there are barely over 200 works (several of which being on the ‘most recents’ page being yours!) and when I first got into the fandom, there were around 60. I was actually much more of a kystophe enjoyer back then (and I even read a few fics, though those were obviously limited to), and I haven’t really picked which of the ships I like more in present day.

I still do like gregstophe!! I mean, obviously, since I wrote a fic about them (for you <3). I think they are just so interesting, and BLU really is one of those movies that I just rewatch over and over again when I get the time. I would consider myself more attached to Christophe than to Gregory, and I have been for a very long time. I think Christophe is just the funniest little guy. That being said, while I do love Christophe so so dearly, gregstophe isn’t one of those ships where they are the One and Only for me, because neither of the characters are super, super high on my faves list. I could ship either character with other characters without getting weirdly jealous about it, which is honestly very rare for me!

If I had to guess why I feel that way towards them, I suspect it’s because they exist as an abstract concept to me, instead of a seriously grounded ship. It’s not that I don’t think they would legitimately work, because I do - it’s that gregstophe kind of inherently has to be an au, just by virtue of existing. And not even because Christophe is (seemingly?) dead, but because both of them are just SUCH strange characters that they kind of seem out of place even in the weirdo town of South Park. And that’s what makes them interesting, and very charming! But it’s also why it’s hard to imagine them as a permanent fixture in basically anywhere, which is why I think your ideal of a mercenary (if that’s the right word?) lifestyle works so well for them. Their few minutes of screen time each already sets a precedent for each of them as perpetually on the go, and to consider them having a permanent, domestic life (before the age of 40-50) feels difficult for me to imagine. That being said, I think you do a very good job of making them believable!!!

I love gregstophe, seriously. I think they’re such a charming pair, and one that fit so well together especially given their lack of actual interaction. The gregstophe community is also so committed, and I can always respect that for a rarepair.

hmmm.... i have a question. not really a question, more like rambling actually.

so we know that n darling doesnt want to get attached with blade, she mostly sees him as her fuckbuddy for a bit which i think is funny, hence she is his long term long distance low commitment gf.

but im actually curious on blade's view on this relationship. does he feel mutual about this? i mean, clearly he doesn't, but im dying to know the specifics.

does he not prod on the topic because he knows n darling would ultimately be his anyway? (based on... whatever elio's script says) or does he just... not care for any specifics and just already considers her his gf without said gf even knowing 😭😭 actually both theories sound more or less similar.

im so excited for ch 5, ive been rereading nexus over and over again lol (and of course... ch 3 and 4 has the most reads for certain reasons im sure you know)

me thinking of a way to respond without accidentally delving into spoiler territory GJKJDF

i will say that the answer to this question is different pre and post chapter 4. i can come back and give the latter after chapter five is posted.

OKAY, so. initial impression (after saving n darling from alister's knife attack in ch1), was... nothing really. a slight pull and nothing else. at that point, he knew the specifics of his job, which he didn't view differently from the hundreds of jobs he'd be assigned before. he doesn't usually bother thinking about the greater picture. he considers himself a weapon who will simply do as he's told until elio fulfills his end of their agreement.

for a while after that, he finds n darling kinda weird. he doesn't get why n darling thanked him and made her synalink offer when it's pretty obvious she doesn't like the stellaron hunters. it wasn't clear to him yet that in the same way he considers himself a weapon, n darling views herself an integral organ to eris. n darling's gratitude wasn't so much that he saved her life — but that he saved eris' 'life.'

he didn't actively try to understand her because he wouldn't care to. the sole reason he picked any of this up is just from the sheer amount of time they spent coexisting. it's inevitable he'd become familiar with her to some extent. there's that, and well... n darling is rather stunning. an assignment where he basically gets to stare at a beautiful woman for days on end isn't something he's complaining about.

what served as a turning point is the nectar guide incident.

(i didn't expect for this to get so long good god but here's blade's mental health going 📉 as his journey to tap n darling begins)

when he comes to, the sight he's greeted with is this high stationed individual weeping for him and desperately tearing her clothes in a attempt to stop his bleeding. he cannot recall a time when anyone has bothered to do so, since it's known no matter how awful an injury he suffers, he'll regenerate eventually. that aforementioned slight pull grows stronger.

regarding blade's reaction to n darling poking around in his psyche uninvited, that wasn't what actually upset him. it was the possibility he'd be less attentive to her safety if he were to go around searching for survivors. for some inexplicable reason, this irked him.

then, at this exchange in ch3:

“Can it really be considered a sin if it’s beyond your control?”

“It won’t always be,” he replies. “Until then, I can’t allow myself to forget. You must get why.”

You wish you didn’t.

it finally dawns on blade that he and this diva-who-pretends-she-isn't-a-diva actually share common ground. that they're both stuck in this self-perpetuated cycle of guilt and admonishment for circumstances that weren't entirely their fault. he doesn't know what to do with this information and stuffs it away for safekeeping.

then another turning point goes down:

the dissonance between lear's id and ego/superego culminates to such a degree that n darling goes unresponsive, the psychic backlash is that bad. blade doesn't understand the specifics. all he sees is this woman he's begrudgingly intrigued by collapsing to the ground with blood rushing from her nose, while her noisy friend and quiet friend rush around. eventually, he can roughly piece together what happened from these tidbits: n darling's aversion to physical contact (seen in ch1 when he reaches for her wrist and she freezes up, then once more when she avoids him after the nectar guide incident).

n darling then confirms this: "What you’re referring to is a precaution my mother suggested. In the past, strange reactions have occurred after I came into direct contact with someone."

along with well-intentioned nona's exclamation: "i yelled at him that if he hurt lear you would turn his mind into goop"

blade wouldn't have thought to configure lear into things as soon as he did had nona not given this slip of information. he already had suspicions that lear and n darling had some sort of Situation between them, because lear isn't slick and makes googly eyes @ n darling like nobodies business, but this. this is different. he could write lear's googly eyes off as a crush, which is whatever. but n darling caring for lear to such a degree that she's fine with risking her wellbeing because she likes being around him that much? hence:

You’re so swept up in your thoughts, that it takes you a while to notice how Blade’s been staring at you. This in and of itself is nothing new. He’s been your shadow ever since forced this arrangement. It irritated you at first, but that blistering offense eased into acceptance. His vigilance felt befitting of a guard. Taking in your surroundings, assessing any threats; such is his prerogative.

How he’s eyeing you now feels different. It’s as if he’s looking through you, not at you.

“Is something wrong? You’re making such a scary expression,” you joke.

at that point, blade is Not Happy to an extent that confuses even him (ch5 will go into why).

then he happens to be brooding in the distance, as he's prone to do, when he sees n darling looking absolutely defeated (post the convo with caicias and chrysus). he feels this need to do something about it, remembers how often she drinks that ambrosia tea, then makes some for her. he really was going to just leave it and then give her space, but, alas:

"Your body springs up of its own accord. You balance the teacup in one hand and reach out to him with the other, your fingers fanning out, ready to sink into whatever they can. Everything happens in the blink of an eye. Your free hand succeeds in finding a destination — settling on the abrasive finish of his bandages.

You feel another texture alongside it.

It’s smooth, cold, and visible through the interstices of his winding bandages.

His skin."

this contact quite literally Awakens something in him (👁👁),

"Blade’s gripping your comforter hard enough for his knuckles to turn bone white. He’s leaning forward, as if ready to pounce, yet lucid enough to exercise some semblance of self-control. He reminds you of a starved animal trapped in a cage, salivating over a piece of meat hanging outside the bars. Goosebumps cover your body. This isn’t simple lust… it’s visceral, some primitive desire too overwhelming to be understood.

You’re the one he’s staring at with this unbridled yearning.

Yes, he’s teased you. Pushed your buttons and riled you up. Not so subtly flaunted the strength that lets him maneuver you like you weigh nothing. You might have status and mastery in your given field, but he’s participated in the annihilation of worlds; the end of civilizations that span back since time immemorial.

He should be the one in charge.

Yet as you stand here, witnessing how he tortures himself by not pouncing on you like he easily could, a thought is planted.

He’d really do anything you asked if it kept this from ending."

from this point to where chapter 4 ends, blade's brain is in some sort of caveman mode. he wakes up. thinks about fucking n darling. fucks n darling. waits around impatiently until he can fuck n darling once again. fucks n darling again. goes to (half) sleep. rinse and repeat.

not only is his mara manageable when he's around n darling, but he gets this thrill too? it's a high unlike anything he's experienced in the miserable centuries he's been cursed with immortality. he isn't really worried about the specifics of their relationship, so long as he can keep railing her on every surface around. n darling's body, how she carries herself with such confidence, the way she pokes and prods at him; he's obsessed. addicted. nothing short of feral.

every stage on his hierarchy of needs has been replaced with n darling.

I recently found yours Hels to Pay AU and I love it so much that I'm going to rant about things that I find really neat in no particular order

Helsmits names:

Dr. Clear - MumboJumbo. It took me a while to get it but wow it makes sense seeing as the phrase "mumbo-jumbo" means nonsense and clear is the opposite of that. Also funny considering the coherentness of each one

BadTimesWithScar - GoodTimesWithScar. Classic

AnimosityGaming/Timmy - SolidarityGaming/Jimmy. Wonderful. Animosity and Solidarity are opposites as well so that's cool

bXMiner - XbCrafted. It's the two halves of MineCraft. Also reverses the letters of his name

Bravo - Tango. Derived off the phonetic alphabet I would assume

Dbubs - Bdubs. Reverses the letters of his name

Patho(s? I'm not sure) Lair - Etho's Lab. Ethos and Pathos are Greek words meaning character and emotions respectively. Lair and Lab are similar to each other. And they have similar nickames taken from misreading their names (Etho Slab and Patho Stair). Genuinely my favourite name of yours.

Dr. Clear is Alister's spy. He told Bravo about Tango indirectly just before they opened the portal, and also managed to get Atlas to slap him in front of Bravo. He's also incoherent enough (faking?) that Atlas wouldn't consider it

Dbubs pathologic lying? How sometimes he doesn't even realise it? How when he did and said something he didn't mean (I hate your stupid face) he felt bad?

Pathos feeling at home in the crimson jungle. Feeling absolutely horrible for ignoring Dbubs whispers whenever he leaves.

Pathbubs is my new favourite ship but god they're about as healthy as that Panera Lemonade

I'm not saying Tango's theory about confusing the universe is wrong, but where was Tango's Portal meant to go if that was the case? It was an actual Universe Portal, so it's not like someone figured out how to make one and then left it there. I think the Universe made the id display to Bravo as Hermitcraft so he would enter it, because Hels just sounds like a bad place. In my head this means the Universe looked at Tango and Bravo and said, "my bad, you need to switch places"

Now that Tango and Jimmy are in Hels, once the Portal is broken, they will be unable to escape back to Double Life by themselves, as their coordinates will still send them to Hels. They will need to meet up with someone else's doppelganger to get back to Double Life.

thank you, i’m glad u like my hels names! it’s something i always spend a lot of time thinking abt, deciding where i wanna pull the name from, whether it’s an opposite thing, helsification, name scramble, or some other significance. clear’s full name is actually clear cut, which is even more of a contrast to mumbo jumbo, and it is technically pathoslair but he goes by patho the same way ethoslab goes by etho, dropping the ‘s’.

ah, pathbubs… i love them sm… man i really need to write more of them sometime 😂 absolutely unhealthy but DAMN they compel me…

as for your questions about the universe portals… i’ll just say that no player has figured out the real explanation for the swap yet. they’re working off what they know and certain assumptions they’ve made; in tango’s case, the assumption that he’s an evil creature who would never have purposefully been brought to hermitcraft. in bravo’s case, the assumption that tango’s mere existence resulted in a massive mistake (even tho plenty of other players have joined hermitcraft without being swapped with their hels counterparts…). they’re silly gooses <3

Headcanon dump when

you’ve made a grave mistake. media analysis is one of my special interests and i’m also a lifelong writer so this will definitely start to get incomprehensibly ranty (warning i literally gave like an essay length explanation of how i would rewrite heinz’ story in mml s2 and this whole thing devolves away from the question very quickly)

1. my funniest one and most out of pocket one i like to bring up is that i think doofenshmirtz is such a whore imo. an absolute harlot. i think he gets around. not like people are attracted to him or find him charming (he is NOT) but he will have been with everyone in the room, like, at least once. particularly the love muffin scientists, especially rodney, and he and monogram DEFINITELY were together at some point

2. on the monogram thing, i figured monogram “experimented” at one point before doof was an owca threat and dated heinz for a short period of time and that’s why they call eachother by their first names and are so familiar with eachother (heinz probably turned him from bi-curious to homophobic very quickly). i just think the idea is hilarious

3. obviously, heinz is transgender and so is perry, that’s a given. and as mentioned one of my previous posts, 2d doof is a karen archetype and your conservative aunt at thanksgiving dinner (you decide if he’s actually cishet or if he’s like blaire white)

4. less of a headcanon and more of an “i wish this happened”, i think monty and vanessa should have stayed together and i don’t like ferbnessa much but that’s also a pretty popular take. i like the perryshmirtz parallels what can i say. also this pairs very funnily with my first and second headcanons

5. buford and bajeet are qpps (they don’t know what that is but they are). ginger is supportive

6. another obvious one, i think pretty much everyone is neurodivergent because of course they are. to get specific on the ones i feel strongest about, heinz has audhd, perry is low-empathy autistic, the rest of the flynn-fletcher family besides linda are autistic, milo is autistic, cavendish is autistic, and dakota has adhd. thank you for listening to my ted talk. i’m actually.. 👉👈 writing my first ever fic, focused around how heinz and perry communicate with their contrasting neurodivergence that will be up on this account once i finally post it to ao3, and that goes a lot more in depth

7. this is actually something i feel differs a bit from most headcanons i see. my take is that norm initially (throughout most of pnf) does not see perry as a father figure at all and only tries to get that from doof, and is also jealous that perry gets all his attention, so kind of actively dislikes him. he also hasn’t made the connection that anyone other than heinz could fulfill that role for him, because in his robot brain, he will take father in the most literal definition, like they have to be directly responsible for creating you. and not something more complex and nuanced like it actually is because he’s a robot and he’s not gonna get that right away. but i feel like over time, he’d begin to realize those nuances, and start to accept perry as family, and get much more out of him as a father figure than heinz. especially since (unless it’s a human au) they would have similarly complicated relationships with not being human but also being fully sentient.

that was a long one and i still don’t feel like i covered all of it but maybe i’ll do a fic about that one too one day 💔

8. i don’t know, as i am writing this sentence, how explosive i will get with my details on this one, but my favorite proposed future for heinz is both a mix between doof 101 and act your age. so an open secret between my friends and i is that although i love both seasons of milo murphy’s law, i really. really. dislike the whole professor time thing. don’t get me wrong, i would keep the whole reveal and not change anything about the season 1 finale.

but, if i, alister r. zamir, were personally hired by dan povenmire and swampy marsh to write the continuation of said finale, i would make everyone including the audience think he’s professor time but have that be a RED HERRING and not ACTUALLY have him be professor time because i think that’s REALLY BAD!! (maybe make it sara or cavendish or even phineas and ferb since they already did that)

the reason why i, the new writer of milo murphy’s law season 2, think this sucks, is because heinz has spent his whole life trying to live up to the expectations of others, and in the shadow of others and is always striving for unreachable goals to substantiate his self worth. it’s like his whole character, it’s his whole thing, this is his canon ass story, so to just throoooww in that whole professor time thing VALIDATES this behavior and encourages him to keep holding himself at an unnecessarily high standard, PLUS the fate of the world is kind of in his hands now, so that’s FINE. AND IM FINE ABOUT IT AND IM NOT MAD. YOU ARE.

so coming back to doof 101 and act your age, particularly act your age (which i also don’t like as an episode but that’s another story), as somebody who suffers from The Serious Illnesses of the Mental Variety, heinz being able to move on, adjust his expectations, and not be doing great or amazing or rule the tristate whatever and just be fine with doing alright, is super meaningful and relatable to me

so i think they should have just stuck with that. i like the phineas and ferb characters included in mml and like i said id keep a lot of it, but i’d save all the heinz arc stuff for phineas and ferb exclusively cause i love the perry funding professor time thing and that whole deal is cute but also i hate it. because it’s so rushed. and everything with his development feels so out of place. and wrong. and it makes me throw a tantrum.

not to mention, but i WILL, how heinz is completely justified about being upset and falling into depression because of this whole ordeal, and they sorttt of treat it like he’s justified? but they also make him unbearably annoying and we as an audience are justifiably unsympathetic to that and it seems like you want me to feel bad for him sometimes but also hate his guts, which could have been an interesting conundrum ig, but even though i love milo murphy’s law, it’s character writing is farrr from strong enough to get any kind of interesting story or arc out of that

so like, in conclusion, dwampy, hire me, i will work for pennies

ok, ship thing, i gotta know—dyde?

DYDE IS INTERESTING. I don't quite know how to feel about it!!! In concept, I think it's great; evil guy x Just Some Guy (mildly annoying version) is obviously good. My only issue is that I suffer the same issue with a lot of Clyde ships that I do with Tweek ships; I get like weirdly jealous on Craig's behalf!! I have a really weird hangup with some characters where if I ship them with my Guys (Kyle and or/Craig) I struggle to ship them with anybody else. I'm putting 'love it!' because in concept I've got no complaints, 10/10, but in execution is where I end up defaulting to 'it's ok'. BUT I HAVE THE UTMOST FAITH THAT IF ANYONE CAN CHANGE MY MIND, IT IS YOU AND DYDE NATION. I have enjoyed dyde fanworks before. I have no doubt that I can do so again!!!

Sup alister my buddy pal chum it’s pitch and I’ve been having some Corey lanskin brain rot and I wanna know about your thoughts/headcannons on him, Gregory, and Christophe as a silly lil trio cause yes they are goddamn madmen

PITCH YOU HAVE COME AT THE MOST OPPORTUNE TIME BC I’VE ACTUALLY BEEN THINKING ABOUT COREGSTOPHE A LOT LATELY

firstly— Corey thoughts/headcanons:

Corey is a bit younger than the other boys, I think about the same age as Dougie. Because of this, he feels a bit alienated from the rest of them (not quite in on all the same growing up experiences) so he’s very sardonic in everything he says and does, twelves layers deep in irony. This does alienate him further usually but he LIKES being a little shit (or so he says). He’s a lot nicer and more genuine when talking through a screen, funny enough, which is why his closest friends are those he games with. Corey spends most of his free time streaming (he has a Twitch channel— it’s unsuccessful) or doing freelance coding/hacking gigs. That boy is terminally online. He’s got the worst fucking posture and bags under his eyes and greasy-ass hair <3 go shower stinky gamer boy

now specifically when it comes to him, Gregory, and Christophe:

Neither Gregory nor Christophe is very technically adept. Christophe finds the minutia of coding unrewarding and therefore frustrating while Gregory hates the impersonal nature of technology. They used to ask Kyle to help them with stuff but Kyle’s busy with his own life so they ended up working with Corey instead. This turns out to be really good because Gregory and Christophe are very insightful people who can see through all of Corey’s bullshit and meet him at the same level of sardonic wit (and lowbrow humor in Christophe’s case). Corey and Gregory often have debates about real world issues and politics but Gregory teaches him how to have a real, civil debate (not like ones in twitter threads). They also appreciate having a fellow Brit around, though Corey mocks Gregory for having a posh accent compared to his Cockney one.

Corey and Christophe get along especially well, both of them kind of enabling the other’s gremlin behavior. Gregory keeps them from being absolute menaces to society but they do like to just dick around and do stupid shit. Corey teaches Christophe how to properly roast someone online and Christophe gets Corey outside for once in his goddamn life. He brings Christophe on his Minecraft stream at one point and Christophe spends the whole time talking about dirt and digging techniques. Additionally, they bond a lot about smoking but Corey weens himself off of it using lollipops and eventually convinced Christophe to do the same. Gregory privately thanks Corey for that a lot— it’s something he’d always wanted Christophe to quit but could never get through to him about.

And while I do love the idea of all three of them possibly together (the order of that being first gregstophe, then corstophe, then coregstophe), I do also LOVE the idea of Corey being the ultimate third wheel to Gregory and Christophe’s relationship. I had a few ideas I’ve been playing w/, the main one is that Danny was trying to get back at Val/the alisters in general, probably by using the powers of the dead, and maybe through a prank? and indirect consequence of that include Damon’s firing and Val’s friends dumping her.

They become a little restless but might wait for the thing that's making them uncomfortable to pass; they won't wait long to actually address it if something can be done about it.

I already did 29 so i'm gonna pick another one and you cant stop me!!

14. Does your character value promises? Are they good at keeping them?

Yes and yes, maybe to a fault. They're working on it.

45. What would they never forgive themselves for?

I think their beliefs about this have changed, but right now they wouldn't forgive themselves for desperately clinging onto something that's not there any more, and not at least try to move on.

They know you're supposed to say journey but it's definitely destination sldkfj

The Demon King Chapters 12-15

05/27/24

Chapter Twelve:

Admittedly, I've had chapter 12 bookmarked since i started reading. this was the point that changed everything. when i was in eight grade, telling myself, i'll read this last chapter and then go to bed-- but then ended up reading the rest of the book just in case raisa and han ended up meeting again lol i was so pissed when i had to wait two days to read the Exiled Queen.

Raisa is so funny, especially with the Amon thing! like, 'you want to tell your friends that i'm your sister, i'm going to kiss you in front of your friends!' She's so unhinged in the first book, i love it.

First meeting of the Grey Wolves, but it does make me wonder what's so wrong with the other two or three people in Amon's triple that he didn't ask them along to help 😭

This chapter was also the first time the infamous 'trader face' was named.

First off, it's actually 8 now. Second off, she's so thirsty, even now, and i love that for her.

Raisa and Han's first meeting is what we in the business refer to as a 'meet ugly' and it's perfect <3

Also, I always wonder what Averill is thinking in this scene? Like, yeah, his daughter getting kidnapped is bad, his daughter getting kidnapped by a former streetlord and accused murderer is WORSE, but he also has to have recognized the cuffs, and the last name Alister, right? Like, how is he not freaking out that his daughter is being taken by Waterlow's heir 😭

We are still talking about a pat down, right?

They just GET each other 😭

Chapter Thirteen:

Han getting jealous of Raisa's hypothetical marriage after knowing her for an hour, he is so unserious 😭

They're so cute! They were exactly what the other wanted AND needed (just maybe not at the exact right time)

FIRST CAT APPEARANCE!!!

I HATE HIM SO MUCH 😭 like, man, you just kidnapped her, have some decorum!

SHE KNOWS HIM SO WELL ALREADY 😖

I love them, your honor

Chapter Fourteen:

Raisa having to learn that being born into the line doesn't make a ruler, but she wants what is best for her people, and that is what separates her from Marianna <3

Just in case you thought that Raisa was in any way more serious than Han, btw

Raisa trying to send Han away, knowing he can't help her, and he's just regretting all of his life choices bc he's so worried for her but can't follow 😭

Adding this so that we can all cheer on our queen, Raisa ana'Marianna 👏

Chapter Fifteen:

Amon POV!

Everyone say "thank you, amon" for being the reason that han and raisa met <3

Han trying to cover up how worried he is about Raisa by getting under Amon's skin and making jokes 🤧

If you had told me before i read these books that chemistry could be conveyed through the written word, i wouldn't have believed you-- CINDA WHAT KIND OF SORCERY DO YOU WIELD??? (these were the last words they spoke to each other in this book btw)
