#tend to have little trouble

When a story is set in the Victorian or Edwardian age, the writers tend to have little trouble creating characters
with pro-Empire beliefs, even when it ultimately undermines their own standing in their time and society.

the halloween special, i mean, Medieval AU continues>> the arrival of the grievously wounded Kingsguard disrupts Bastien's very isolated, very drunk rural village life - but in much different way than he expected. somehow, miraculously, Wolfgang slowly recovers, and the two of them spend many evenings sharing wine and stories by the fireside, finding each other to be pleasant company.
but how long will the vampire be able to resist the call of the priest's blood >:3

I've been having a lot of Yuri thoughts particularly since I've been trying to put serious mileage on finishing a fuller analysis of da dawg in her (autism).
One of them is that for as commonly as Monika is maligned in ignorance of this particular fact, people seem to also forget that Yuri is...a teenage girl? Like, I think based on the fact that she is clearly the tallest, 6'2 queen towering over everyone in the club, coupled with the more mature vibes (some of which i'd say come from the autism lmao), people tend to just kind of forget that she's still quite young and make her seem significantly more competent as a result.
She's still a high schooler, bros, a very awkward one at that. When Sayori suggested they get to know each other before reading she drew a straight blank and didn't say anything until Sayori prompted her. Despite appearances she is wont to be hilariously immature and say/do some dumbass and petty shit, particularly when equipped with friends encouraging her.
let her be silly.......

"you're not traumatized by being raised by parents who were way too young and were raised in shitty families themselves and who never taught you emotional intelligence and isolated you from pretty much all of your non churchgoing peers, you're just a little silly! and you cry whenever you notice any sort of shift in the way someone speaks to you and take it as a personal rejection, whether or not it was intentional, but that's unrelated"

My experience in impulse buying game development software has given me great knowledge

Just finished reading pez dispenser debris.
Firstly: crying, screaming, throwing up, ball’s to the wall insane. I am taking this fic between my teeth and shaking it furiously like a dog with its favorite toy. I am running circles in my enclosure just to bleed off some of the emotions this experience has given me.
Secondly: this fic is heart wrenching. All of the things I would’ve wished had been addressed in canon content of BNHA. How does Horikoshi throw away one of the biggest points that enraptures the audience into caring about Izuku? How does the narrative seemingly forget the entire reason he was so fervent in chasing his dream as a hero? I think this is one of the biggest gripes I have about the series, and it’s the one that’s only ever been remedied by amazing fic writers like you.
How do you face the part of yourself you’ve seemingly buried and forgotten? How do you come to terms with the fact that horrible things happened to you by no fault of your own? What’s the fallout of realizing that the people who should’ve cared and protected you might’ve also been hurting you all along?
Where do you even begin in this entire mess?
A part of me, despite the fantastical elements of the medium itself, feels so incredibly seen by this. It’s incredibly difficult, making amends with the part of yourself that was so deeply hurt in the past. It’s a part of life, i think, to learn to walk beside that part of you, to lay it to rest and acknowledge that it will always be there. Izuku, of course, has done none of this, and in this lies the crutch of the matter that’s the center of this fic. I’m happy I stumbled across this fic, even though I haven’t consumed BNHA content in years.
That being said, do you allow any works inspired by your own? I need to put down some of the emotional toll this fic has done to me on paper. Apologies for the ramble, i am just really passionate about this fic. Hope to see more of your work in the future!
I’m so so happy you like it! I wanted pez dispenser debris to be this horrible reconciliation with the part of you that was still hurt and mad about it, and I’m so glad that resonated.
And absolutely, go for it! I’m thrilled it made enough of an impact to make you want to make something too. I do usually ask that you stick in a note or link or something giving credit to the original fic, and if you’re comfortable with it, send me a link to anything you publish and I’d love to boost it here!

I've honestly been wanting to draw something like this for some time: @cordycepsbian is among the few I know of that have designed a father for Vi and/or Jaune, and having thought a fair bit about my own idea for that very concept, I thought it was very nice to see! Helps that their Bernie is generally a great design and character.
Tumblr media
Also a little comic (of sorts) where their Bernie (after having been kicked out of The Hive for crystal radiation reasons, if I'm not mistaken) and my Gaston (after having died due to ?!#*) just kinda. Chat.

See having specific abilities be a genetic trait is fine. But what if it was instead a reflection of the experiences that someone goes through in childhood when unlocking their ability? While scientifically speaking this probably doesn't make as much sense but on a basic level this would be such a cool basis for how someone develops abilities and make Sophie's genetic mutation case even more messed up.
Say what if a kid grows up in a prestigious nobility family, that just so happens to be like celebrities in the elvin world and they have to uphold this fake image to be what the public wants them to be. What if they have to uphold this idea of themselves in front of almost everyone, sometimes even within the space of their own home?
You know what I would value the most in people close to me?
Transparency and trust.
And BOOM what do you know a family of Vanishers and Telepaths, unintentionally made through not one but two generations of trauma, where not only the children right now (Biana, Fitz, and Alvar) but along with Alden and Della have a deep understanding of what it means to be honest and only put your faith into the people you love and hold the closest to you.
Okay so let's try another one.
What would happen if two children happen to have overbearing parents who expect things that they cannot give to their legacy. What if they are pushed and pushed and pushed and punished just for being born? Well, what if one of them tries to be exactly what they want? Stuffing away all of that judgement, that shame, and the anger of that shame down until it all bubbles up and the dam bursts?
Or hey what would happen if a kid instead chose to ignore what they were saying, and find comfort in something that was outcast from society like them? What would happen to the kid who lay in bed and make shadow puppets with his hands at night, dreaming of a world in which he could use the creatures from his imaginings and turn them on the monsters of the real world?
"Well I don't know Tobi what would they value?"
Accepting and embracing the flaws that come with a person!!!!
"How does that have to do with Hydrokinetics and Shades?
Because both of them are only seen as useful when they can offer someone else something they want, and are otherwise stigmatized and seen as unstable and dangerous!
(you could also draw conclusions as to stigmatized mental illnesses that people see as other, especially those which have a negative taboo around them and are thrown around as common words quite regularly. I won't dig into this further than here since i do not have experiences with such, but you can extend this and other factors into the examination of other abilities.)
I just think that it would be such a cool prospect that growing up, elvin abilities take shape through the deepest experiences and wants at the core of someone's personality, and reflecting that through manifestation!
That's also another reason to compare Sophie's situation to the elvin world, and kind of add how fucked up it is. They deprived her a right of developing her abilities naturally by planting her in a specific environment and setting her up to have specific abilities, experiences, and personality traits.
Anyway just kind of a concept i've been thinking on for a bit.

When Kaeya is upset with someone he loves, truly upset and seriously hurt, he tends to storm off immediately. And completely vanish from their radars. Whether it's two hours or even days.
A trail of ice-laced footprints is all they'd have to track him immediately after the fact, but after a time, not even Mond's best could hope to find him if he doesn't want to be found.
#hc; kaeya#//He doesn't ever actually leave Mond at these times#//The furthest he's gone is heading right to Dragonspine; actually#//Right up to the peak; or as far as he can go. But that's only if it was Really Bad#//The main reason no one can find him is bc he takes advantage of his little teleporting trick to mess up any trail he may leave#//Makes any indications point to him headed for the Winery; but uses that trick to make his detour. Like the Dragonspine bit#//Taking a detour near the snow-covered path by strictly traveling via water (seeing ice there would be normal anyways) for good measure#//Would end up Southeast; just shy of the Emtombed City's Hidden palace; if not further down#//Other than that; there are plenty caves and domains to hide out at until he calms down#//If asked; he will say he needed to clear his head on the shorter bouts#//And the longer ones; that he ran into trouble and needed to deal with it. And lost track of time#//Sometimes it's true; especially when he finds his way into a domain; and the Abyss starts tugging at his consciousness#//and messes with him so bad; his emotions prompt him to recklessly try and clear it himself; as though to blow off steam#//Has had equal times of success & getting his ass brutally handed to him & having to make a hasty retreat. It's gotten p close sometimes#//There was only (1) time he actually did show up to the Winery#//And that was after a particularly bad argument with Diluc; soon after he'd returned to Mond#//Left the tavern abruptly and tried to get into his old room; almost got shot by Addie who heard him breaking in. Got yelled at for it#//Then tended to after. He confided in her nothing but truth; but not ALL of it; that is to say; he said he was worried about Luc#//Esp coming back from Snezhnaya; even cried a little in her arms. but never mentioned Exactly that it was a fight that brought him here#//Stayed only for a bit; but the Moment he heard Luc come back; he fled. Heard commotion from downstairs & the moment Addie left to check#//He was out his room's window & teleported as far out & away as he could before trying to run back to Springvale w/out hurling on the way#//He does this bc he Fears saying something he Knows will hurt enough to regret#//Bc he thinks they might WANT him gone in that moment and gives them space accordingly#//They won't up and leave him if HE'S the one who makes his retreat first; right? Makes sure THEY don't feel the need to on his account#//They can say otherwise all they like; but the moment the anger's That clear in their eyes; his heart grows icy with dread#//And mind spirals enough to make him up and leave; either abruptly or with a stiff 'I need a moment'. But he needs OUT immediately#//Them being the ones to find him before he's calmed down & ready would always make it worse; unfortunately#//Bc then it starts up his mind spiraling all over again; esp since he'll inadvertently feel cornered by them. & act accordingly#//He WILL try & act as though he Didn't just do that to try & segue back normalcy; it's wiser to gently talk him through how it's not ok#//It might not stop future bouts during serious fights; but at least it can resolve things from this one bc he'd be willing to talk it out

thinking ab how different fi and ti are and yet istps seem to get mistyped as isfps a lot by people.... maybe it's because ti can superficially appear fi-like because the logic only has to make sense to the individual, making it seem like an ""emotional"" function instead? like when some line of logical, ti-produced reasoning does not at all seem rational from an outsiders perspective, so then it ends up looking like a personal emotional moral thing instead

i have a question about ur esh au! would jimmy have ever been able to control his abilities without Xornoth’s interference? or would he have just been stuck wreaking havoc for the rest of his life?
nope! jimmy unfortunately got the short end of two sticks--both early and late bloomers get more intense powers, with the average time of developing them being at around 11-12 years old. jimmy's came in when he was 15 almost 16, which is why his power is Like That (for reference, scott has strong but average powers and he got them at 13).
and jimmy was just born missing whatever gene would allow his brain to block/unblock power use at specific times. he currently has an implant from xornoth's crew that gives him this ability, though he's not quite mastered it.

This is mostly nonsense and I've mentioned it before, but I was thinking about dirk's mechanical splinters as an act of (ironically) outsourced self-regulation brought about by a) a complete mistrust of himself and b) a desire to compartmentalize and understand, in line with his aspect. As in, it's outright mentioned within the context of his interactions with Hal that dirk does not consider himself above his own manipulation, and as such has fostered a split within himself wherein he feels he has to view and process his actions outside of the context he is performing them in so as to be sure that they're not, well. Completely fucked. And see, observation like this would (in theory) be much easier if he could physically separate himself from his actions and as such understand them through the lens of the bystander; to act without assuming the consequences, like a simulation. Of course, this doesn't work in practice for a number of reasons, especially because at its core it's an attempt to do everything all by himself again. It's like baby's first attempt at playing at judge, jury, and executioner, all at once.

Because of the difficulty fae have with conceiving, they tend to be very, I guess, matter-of-factly possessive of any offspring they sire with other species. Fae blood already runs true with children had between fae and other species (otherwise they would have long died out or mixed into something different entirely with how often they have to reproduce with other beings for a higher chance of conception) and fae think nothing of spiriting away a child from its other (usually human) parent into Seelie to live and grow, oftentimes without that parent even knowing the truth behind who they slept with or what color blood runs through their child’s veins. Unfortunately, the non-fae parent often really does just wake the next morning to find the newborn gone without a trace or word. Or, to basically never know that their partner conceived from their time together.
There’s different reasons for this. In the past especially while a bit of a natural glamour existed up to a certain point in their adolescence, an inspiration for the myths surrounding changelings, if the newborn’s looks seemed inhuman enough, then there was a risk of superstition and fear to cause the baby to be killed. And to the fae, babies are in pretty short order to go around allowing them to be “wasted” like that.
But mostly, this possessive view and sense of ownership of fae children comes from the Seelie’s sense of superiority against other species. Of course the babe would want to live among its own people, there’s simply no way it would ever be content with crawling in the mud among humans. It’s not a half-human, half-fae baby, it is always considered a fae child.
