as bad as i am writing long expository posts out of my own volition i really appreciate anytime anyone sends an ask or a reply prompting me to go on about something :") god knows i keep just talking to myself in the tags more than actually putting my thoughts together succintly so if youre ever curious abt something its absolutely always welcome and no limits to what is taboo or not to ask!

#theres a lot of stuff just kinda in my head and in my files and nowhere else because its not easy to adapt into art or comics #a forever curse

basically modern firearms are built to be able to detect if a human or non human is holding it and alerts cops in vicinity, so even if they could get a gun and get a shot in, it's very likely to result in their arrest and/or death. only some androids are authorized to use firearms (for example cops, soldiers and similar) and pay for that 'privilege' with a lack of personal freedoms and tighter control for security measures. any android who harms or intends to harm a human is also treated really harshly by the judicial system. and yessfh Wolfgang is morally definitely not against it and they know their way around a gun but it's usually just too dangerous to utilize in their situation

lest i forget also!! another big inspiration is Ghost in the Shell and specifically how Major treats her cyborg body as almost fully disposable, theres a certain grace to her when she's doing infiltration work and this absolutely like, berserk and reckless abandon of pushing her body to absolute extremes when there's need for it that i think is very close to Wolf as well

peeks in here. if you've thought about it, what would you say wolfgang's fighting style is like? does it come naturally to them or is it something they had to learn?

boy, have i thought about it, extensively and drawn none of it hfhf. i've mentioned somewhere before guns are a no-go for androids who aren't authorized to use firearms, so their fighting style has to rely on melee and element of surprise. they have higher endurance and strength than an average human, but they're not inhumanly fast and still only have finite energy sources. so their main goal is usually trying to not end up outnumbered, and then ideally trying to not get shot, get in close and disarm their opponent. (even more ideally not getting in a situation like this, but that is often met with their own recklessness and great talent of escalating into violence rather than risk their target getting away) they don't tend to carry a lot of weapons or anything too big that can't be concealed, so it's usually just their one bolo knife (or a garotte) or whatever they can grab to bash heads in with. they also favor kicks a lot especially if they're wearing a sturdy heel. they're very much not above tearing into people with their hands and teeth if backed into a corner.

and as to if it comes naturally to them, well. in the vaguest terms, they were originally trained for fighting androids and humans. it has been a long time since they were that kind of person in that line of work however, and they have had to adjust their strategy and re-learn a lot on the fly but the basic memory and training was already there. they're definitely not a master fighter, and the longer a fight goes on the higher are the chances they will get really badly hurt or the cops come.

im hoping to one day do some fight sketching but until then the best visual i can give you is the way Dev Patel just chomps into peoples faces in Monkey Man and this knife museum fight from John Wick 3

woofgang.. wemsday... on the tails of my own birthday, thinking about androids and the fact they don't get to have birthdays. there is the date they were made engraved into their bones, of course but in case of people like Wolfgang, who live on the fringes of society, who have had to fight tooth and nail against what that creation, the initial design was... its not something worth celebrating. they don't get to have birthday celebrations, and they don't get dignified funerals. their lifeless bodies stripped for scraps before the authorities come to collect them and incinerate them. their lives artificially endless, until not.

maybe then for people like Wolf - for trans androids, androids who have to move through the underground and help each other, its more important to get to name themself, to get to change their body, to live in their own image, to love each other, remember others who aren't there anymore. those events would be a lot more important and worth remembering each year, than the date of their creation
