#technically? I see this in a lot of fandoms

So. Life update.
Today (technically yesterday now) was the first day of my final year of my fourth decade. Happy birthday to me.
I take my duties (even self-assigned ones) way, way too seriously, and running this blog was killing me. Literally. I was given doctor’s orders to cut back on social media (actually she wanted me to cut out social media, but we compromised), and a very beloved friend actually paid me to take the month off. So I did. I turned off all my social media notifications, unfollowed a lot of ppl, muted a bunch of servers, and told my source suppliers I was going on hiatus.
Since the beginning of May, my daily average time actually using my phone has gone from over 17 hours to just seven hours, my blood pressure has gone from the 150s/90s range to the 130s/70s range, and I’ve stopped having nightly nightmares and daily coughing fits. I’m also walking 19% more than I did last month, and every doc appt shows I’ve lost more weight since the last one. I’ve also started writing again for the first time in months, and I’ve churned out over 10k words this month.
So I’m cutting way, way back on the CR content. Still a critter, still watching every week, ask box is still open for chatting, you can tag me in on questions if you want. I’m still actively participating in the fandom and keeping up with the goings-on. But I’m not referring to myself as a source blog anymore. Back to a mixed bag of whatever grabs my fancy, like a normal human person, while I try to become one of those again.
In other news, I’m getting a new kitten at the end of next month! A friend rescued a pregnant cat and I’ll be taking one of the litter when they’re old enough to leave their mama.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don’t know which one I’ll be picking yet (I haven’t actually met them in person, mama’s a nervous kitty and still settling in to her new home and I don’t want to stress her out by showing up out of nowhere and handling her babies), but odds are good it’ll be one of the torties.
If anyone is so inclined, I’ve got »an Amazon wish list« for supplies for both the new kitten and a few things for my older cats, and »my ko-fi jar« is always around. (Also I’m down for suggestions for things the list is missing; my youngest cat is 11 years old, I’ve been out of the kitten game for a while.)
Love you guys, see you on Thursday!

You know how everyone shows Magolor, Taranza, and Susie as besties?
Well do you think the Master Crown, Dimensional Mirror, and Star Dream would also be besties?
Ok this ask reminded me of a shitpost I've been meaning to make so let's get that out of the way:
Tumblr media
You see, I always envisioned the Ultimate Evil Trio as Star Dream, Queen Sectonia, and Traitor Magolor. (I guess the Master Crown and Dimensional Mirror are technically along for the ride in this case?)
Anyways: you might be clairvoyant! I've been thinking A LOT about Star Dream in particular lately, including how it might feel about other Ancient Artifacts---like the Crown! (Note: okay the Star Dream brainrot is extremely obvious on my main account now but I swear that wasn't the case when I started writing this answer, ever so long ago. Lol)
I never considered a sentient Dimensional Mirror though... maybe someone else in the fandom has really juicy headcanons (feel free to share in the tags), but at the moment, I only have theories on its magic properties and relation to the magicians of the Mirror World. For example, I like to think that Simirror is from that world, and so they know a lot about the Dimensional Mirror.
As for the Master Crown and Star Dream: they would, theoretically, have a lot to commiserate about together, but I don't think they would actually get along. I won't reveal too much (since I'm still hoping to post some tangentially-related comics and stuffs in the future), but basically: their motivations and sympathies are completely different.
Tumblr media
If we are going to make a trio of Ancient Artifacts/eldritch abominations from the distant 10s, I would make it the Crown, Void Termina, and Star Dream. (this way we can preserve the holy domesticated trinity of cat, dog, and bird)
PS: Since you mentioned it, I'll give a small disclaimer... I actually prefer grouping Magolor, Taranza, and Susie as a bestie quartet with Marx. He may not be a 2010s girlie, but I think he balances the rest of them out and makes the dynamic more fun :)

The ship name switch actually comes from manga/anime fandoms! I haven't been in any recently, but back in ye old days people could get very intense about who tops and who bottoms and switches were practically unheard of, so the names were kinda necessary. NaruSasu vs SasuNaru for example. You won't believe how much people fought over positions, it even got parodied in some japanese media. On a slightly related note, are you okay with top al content where the characters are properly portrayed? Or none at all? No judgment, we all should enjoy the fandoms however we like ^^
Oh 👀 that makes sense I wouldn't have heard about it then. I watched a handful a anime, but the only one I dipped my toes into was My Hero Academia, and even then, I didn't go that deep. I read a few fics, but that was the extent of it.
Fighting over who tops, bottoms, and switches is so silly. An argument can be made for any character being a top, bottom, or switch, because sexual preference/positions isn't something that can determined by a handful of personality traits. There's no check-list a characters has follow to be "deemed" a top. Or a bottom. Or a switch.
At the end of the day, it's literally just what the fan prefers for that pairing. And I think the more people accept that they can like specific dynamics without having to argue for their right to like it, the better and less-toxic a fandom will be. You should never have to defend why you like a character, or a ship, or anything else, because sometimes you just like it. You vibe with it. No other reason required.
As for the top!Al content, it can be kind of tricky to deem something as "properly portrayed" when, technically, everyone's portrayal is going to be different, and every portrayal isn't going to be 100% in-line with the show.
I think considering something as properly portrayed is wholly dependent on the fan and how they relate to the show and the characters. No fanfiction or fanart is going to be completely true to the show or characters. I don't even think that's possible XD Fans inject so much of themselves and their experiences into fan-content, that every portrayal can be considered properly done given the right audience.
But, if top!Al and bottom!Luci were written in a different way--maybe something that didn't UwU-ify Lucifer so much or make Alastor out to be this big, domineering alpha-male--I think I could like it.
I'm very picky with characterization. There are some details I can easily overlook, but depending on how certain things are written, it can take me out of the story so badly I can't even force myself to finish reading. (Believe me, I've tried. I found a Spideypool fic once that was so well written it was love at first sight. The humor was on point, the plot was intriguing, the dynamic between them was fun, but there was a small, little, itty-bitty detail in their interactions that kept popping up and it took me out of the fic so bad, I couldn't keep going. I tried to finish the fic, multiple times, but I never got very far.)
Funnily enough, when I was first scouring the internet for content after the show ended, I actually bookmarked a handful of top!Al and bottom!Luci on Twitter. But with how it's currently being portrayed across the fandom, any enjoyment I had for it has soured. I just don't vibe with the majority of top!Al I see now.
I've always liked bottom!Al though, and I've been seeing a lot more content for it lately! I've been eating well 😋

Louis De Pointe Du Lac Deep Dive🦇 SPOILERS (Long post- so strap in)
I was going to make this post about Armand but in recent developments I feel like I should talk on Louis. I know this isn't the TikTok platform but lately I've been seeing the fandom kind of turn on Louis? Calling him a pick me and weak based off of his actions in season 2, so let's talk about it. (and were keeping everything friendly this is just a tv show after all)
Tumblr media
Starting off I don't think Louis is a great perfect person. NO one, and I mean NO ONE in this series is. But to call Louis a pick me I feel like is really not giving his character justice.
Louis is a product of his environment. His father died leaving him in charge, his mother berates and expects a lot out of her son, and his brother is mentally ill. Louis' sister was really the only person that had his back, but it was always through words never actions. Then Paul kills himself in front of Louis, and Louis is blamed despite it not being his fault. Despite his efforts to keep him family afloat. And despite him taking care of Paul and protecting him until the end, nothing was enough.
Tumblr media
Now picture that happening to you then a man comes along. Not just some average man but a man that has a natural ability to draw people in. He calls you beautiful, perfect, and loving. He takes you places and cares for you in a way you've never experienced before.
It's how most cycles of abuse start. They lure you in with honey and that's exactly what Lestat was. And as time went on Lestat's anger became explosive and commanding but he was still loving thought. But again, if we put ourselves in Louis shoes I would take the abuse. Because I know afterwards my partner that I knew would come back it would just take some time. Which is why even though Lestat screamed, bullied Claudia, bullied Louis and mortally wounded him Louis kept coming back everytime.
Because who knows when he might get a love like this again. He would have rather put up with it even at the expense of himself and others if it meant that this love wouldn't go away.
Tumblr media
Then Lestat dies. And he's alone again after years, and even though he tells Claudia that she's enough we all know that not true. Because no amount of family love or love from friends can replace a partner's love. And we know that's a fact because Claudia was constantly looking for that type of love not only through the carriage driver but also the seamstress.
Then we get to Armand. Confident, loving, teasing, and eerily similar on the surface to his past lover. And the abuse cycle starts all over again. Through loving words and phrases to manipulative behavior and threats. But before we call Louis weak, remember that this is what he's used to.
Tumblr media
Especially since homosexuality was forbidden and heavily denied in Louis's time this was his first (than secound) real relationships technically. And both were of an abusive nature.
I'm not trying to make this post long or tell people they can't dislike Louis but remember that the cycle of abuse and trauma can keep going through a person for generations. In order to be broken a person must acknowledge that they are being abused and have the strength to change it. And based on Louis response to David he does not even consider himself a victim of anything.
I'm not saying Louis is a saint and Claudia definitely deserves better but when you realize where people come from and what they've been through it's not an excuse for their actions, but it better explains them.
Thank you for coming to my TED TALK 💕

Seeing the numbers compared, I realized that you are right, anon. It's a privilege to be able to write long fics, regardless of them thinking they're unable to write short fics because short fics are mostly scenes so it's not that long fic writers are incapable of writing short stories, deep down, they don't want to. Maybe it feels wrong for them since they've made an impression they always write long fics, maybe they find short fics less impressive, or believe that people won't give the same feedback as when they post something longer.
But I would like to argue that longer doesn't mean it has a plot. I've read 80k words of a character getting tortured with no chance of figuring things out or getting out of that situation and ended quite the same as the start. I've read 25k fic of characters just hogging. These fics have no stakes, no crisis, no buildup, no development, nothing just series of the same scene over and over with different sets or different positions.
Fanfic is free and that is why you encounter things that are, in a way, out of the box and technically are not allowed in the publishing world. But that's the beauty of it. Is it really that big of a gap for people who can write long fics vs people who can only write short fics? Because of how free fanfiction is, most things are okay to do, including only being able to write plotless or short.
One reason why I get jealous of other authors who manage to write longer fics than me is because I was too busy at the time. I found a good system for myself (dedicating a certain time to finish a chapter and then uploading them as I edit and so on) and you can build your own. I think with the right system, anyone can do it.
Pantsers, plotters, and hybrids are equal to me and it's true because how do you know that a person didn't just recycle the same plot they use from their previous fics, thus being able to write different versions of that story? We've seen the viral meme abt fic writers recycling the same thing and a lot of people admit to doing it. Does this mean they're mediocre or bad writers? It's not like that's against the TOS or illegal. Nobody paid us to keep making fresh new ground-breaking stories. The quality of a fanfic is decided from how you treat it. Do you still like it even after five years? Do you think about it sometimes? Do you feel so ashamed you'd rather put it in an anon collection or close your acc completely and orphan it? Do you wish for it gone to the point you delete every trace of it?
It's not from the amount of kudos, hits, or comments, tho yes it is easier to find good ones if you filter by kudos but there are lots of underrated ones and I've DNF a lot of fics that are not to my liking but have high-kudos because people keep rec-ing it. I want underrated fics to be more popular but not because it needs to be popular but because I hope to be in a community with more like-minded people. Fanfic has no publisher, we can't earn from it so traffic is merely informative so it's the community that matters the most.
In fact, to tell you the truth, after 17 years of being in ao3, I've curated my tag very specifically and stopped using the fandom tag and went straight to the ship tag. I also mostly rely on bookmarks, private collections, word from mouth of people I trust or believe to have the same writing style and taste as me. So it was very niche and limited.
Lots of stories have plots but not all must be in your favor so you gotta figure what you like to start. Are you team canon divergence or AU? what trope do you like? Telling someone to stop comparing is ineffective. We always compare because that's how we communicate. But people feel inferior because they don't feel worthy of themselves. If you start to know what you want, it's easier for you to write more. Whether you're still stuck on making 1k-2k, etc, at least you don't waste your time feeling sad or down and you keep writing. That'll help stimulate your brain and you will improve.
(Also maybe just don't listen to authors who you think are humblebragging. Mute or block them if you need to because I know, to some people who are in the same fandom, these types of attitude have more context to it. Idk abt anon, but in some cases maybe they were moots or the account was owned by another fan they've encountered on tumblr or other social media often, a BNF maybe, or just a popular author that other fans praise or talk about often, and things could get personal. Shit can go south quickly in the community tbh)

There's definitely an art to condensing one's thoughts into only a few words.

Oh so D x D were right in depicting Jaime x Cersei sex scene in the book as a clear cut rape scene. No, you say? What I remember of that scene in the book is that it was dub-con AT BEST, and this AFTER taking into account the author's own very obvious misogynistic bias (Watsonian vs Doylist perspective) and JC's specific dynamic of being the same person in two bodies and their lack of autonomy in the face of one another and their fucked up sick relationship in general. After taking into account all of these quite important factors, this book scene is still technically a dub-con sex scene, under a lenient reading which I'm willing to give to Jaime because again, I'm taking into account all these factors. If someone chooses to see this scene in the book as a clear cut rape scene, it is understandable to me.
D x D took a dub-con sex scene with a shit ton of underlying complexities underneath and turned it to a clear cut rape scene. Okay! Not The Best in my personal opinion! But still, Not So Atrocious! After all, how are you gonna depict on TV with absolute accuracy with the limited time you have something that is pretty complicated in the book and already kind of still comes across as dub-con or at even dangerously close to rape? Oh but I vaguely remember seeing posts in the lannister crowd about the show!scene being a depiction of "gratuitous violence" and "oversimplifying the dynamic". Am I wrong? I also agreed with the lannister crowd on this. I don't think GRRM intended to write Jaime as a rapist and Jaime comes across as a rapist in the GoT scene. I consider this to be a distortion of canon, despite the fact that in the book we had a real dub-con scene.
But suddently introducing out of the blue actual, very real physical domestic violence in a relationship that had NONE in the book is canonically plausible or even an improvement of canon, for the same crowd? And why is that? Because the couple has a huge age difference whereas JC were twins? So an abusive relationship or even rape is less plausible if the perpetrator is the same age as the victim? Who told you this? Daemyra is abusive because the uncle gave gifts to his underage niece? Because the couple is incestuous? In GRRM's work? You are seriously, unironically arguing that the above factors (age difference + incest) are meant to hint at a non consensual, abusive relationship in GRRM's universe? Are you for real?
Where is the acknowledgement of the author's problematic standards and worldview here? Where is the distinction between the Watsonian and the Doylist perspective here? Where is your indignation at the show runners turning up the gendered violence in ways that are not book canon? At least the JC scene was based on a real, already highly problematic sex scene. Now that the show runners came up with a brand new form of violence that did not exist in the book, what do you say? That it's fine because it's not as gratuitous as Sansa's rape arc? What about Alicent's rape arc? That's not gratuitous? Do you seriously believe that a rape arc is a necessary tool for adding complexity to a female antagonist? Really? What about Laena being burned alive? What about Aemma? I haven't seen a lot of talk about those. Are these not "gratuitous violence" in your book? Or you just don't really care right?
To sum it up. It is Problematic™ gratuitous violence hashtag male gaze only when 1) my perfect angelic fave (Sansa) is the victim or 2) when my fave is the perpetrator.
It is not gratuitous violence when 1) the narrative turns my fave from an antagonist to an underdog via rape or 2) when it makes characters I hate look worse than their book counterpart.
Hate to break this to you, this is not exactly a solid construction. The general criteria you use to identify gratuitous, non canonical violence need to be applied to all cases alike, not according to your own bias. The bias in this fandom is so shocking that it borders on gaslighting and I am looking specifically at book fans who have dragged GoT to hell and back for years and are now applauding this shitfest that is House of the Dragon for the same reasons they used to trash GoT.
I genuinely want nothing to do with that show anymore.

Tag Nomination Instructions
To nominate tags, you need an AO3 account, so request an invite if you haven't done so already! Tag nominations will open May 29, with the Discord server, and will remain open until June 12.
Tag nominations will determine what relationships and fairy tales are included in the exchange. These will be the ONLY ones included, so you want to nominate tags, especially if you have niche taste!
With that said, please:
Only nominate if you want to participate.
Join the Discord server before nominating, and put your AO3 username in your Discord nickname so I know who you are.
Only nominate things you want to offer or request (so don't nominate something just because you think it should be included).
Tutorial below the cut!
Nominating Relationships
Go the tag set on AO3. Here, you can see what has already been nominated.
Click "Nominate" in the upper right.
If you use pseuds, select the pseud you will be participating in the exchange under. If you don't use pseuds, you can ignore this.
Tumblr media
Okay, now you're going to start nominating! I'm going to start by nominating Sophie/Fitz. The slash means that this is the romantic ship between these characters. That's an important distinction!
Tumblr media
Next, I'm going to nominate Sophie & Fitz, which is the platonic form of the pairing. I want to offer both dynamics, so I need to nominate both!
Tumblr media
Just like that, I'm going to continue down the line, entering all of the relationships I want to nominate.
Tumblr media
Until... oops! I've hit a pairing that doesn't have a canon tag. I want to nominate Sophie & Silveny, but it's not an option in the dropdown. So, I'm going to need to make them a tag.
Tumblr media
The proper way to do it is:
Characters alphabetical by last name. Silveny doesn't have a last name, so I'll just use "Silveny," but I'll use "Foster" for Sophie. So Sophie Foster will go first!
Using the correct relationship indicator (& or /). In this case, an ampersand (&) for platonic!
And since I'm creating a tag, I need to put the fandom in the second box.
So my nomination will look like this:
Tumblr media
Another useful thing to know is that you can nominate tags with more than two characters. If I have an idea that really focuses on Sophie, Edaline, and Grady, I can nominate them as a trio!
Tumblr media
You can technically put even more characters than that, but I wouldn't recommend it, since that makes it harder to match with someone.
So with all that knowledge under my belt, I'm going to finish my relationship nominations! I'm going to nominate a full 10, since I have lots of ideas, but you can do fewer than that. My finished relationship nominations look like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And now I can nominate the fairy tales I want to include!
Nominating Fairy Tales
Time to nominate the fairy tales that will be used for AUs in the event!
For this, we will not be using the dropdown. You are going to enter the name of the fairy tale manually, with "AU" at the end.
If it is an oral tradition or legend, and you don't care which version, you can just put the common name: Cinderella AU
If you are nominating a specific book, include the author name in parenthesis after the title: Ella Enchanted (Gail Carson Levine) AU
If you are nominating a specific movie, include the year in parenthesis after the title: Cinderella (1950) AU
If you are nominating a specific play or musical, include the year it premiered and the type: Cinderella (2013 musical) AU
Remember, though—just like with nominating relationships, if you're too specific, you might not match with anyone. So keep that in mind!
My finished nominations look like this:
Tumblr media
I have two specific ones, because I couldn't resist, and because they're pretty different from their original fairy tales!
And that's all! You can hit "Submit," and we moderators will take care of the rest of the work!

I’m gonna preface this by saying: I suck at trying to explain things 💀 bare with me, this is probably a bit controversial in terms of fandom stuff
Does anyone else get confused why people get so mad about making characters somewhat ooc?
I think I’m specifically thinking of fanart here, because I often see people getting mad at fanartists for portraying one aspect of a character.. through only one piece of art?
Or even when people fully acknowledge that, yeah, sometimes how they portray a character is a little / very ooc, and they are completely aware of that. Sometimes people just want to have fun with the characters- and that doesn’t necessarily affect how they view or analyze that piece of media
I guess I’m just confused? I get that sometimes it’s bad (infantalizing, not acknowledging that something is ooc, etc.) but, tbh, I’ve not seen a lot of people who portray a character as somewhat ooc who also believe that that’s how the character actually acts
Idk if this made any sense, it’s like 2 am and I’m tired. I’ve just been seeing a lot of ppl heated over this and I’m genuinely lost

There's a certain CCCC summary video that we really, really like. We think it is a great video for people if they want to grasp the story more clearly, if they're confused, or if they're listening to the album for the first time.
That video being Chonny Jash and the Weight of the Mind on Youtube by W3tBl@nk3t. We think they cover it really well.
However, I'm sharing this for a different reason; they say few certain things that really struck with us until now, that I'd like to share with the fandom. Sometimes, we see people really just.. Miss the point of CCCC entirely, and I'd like to shine a light on what was said here. If you'd like to hear this for yourself on video, the timestamp is 35:57-36:45.
“..I bet we all could relate to that, they are the prime example of the side of you that suffers and the side of you that hates yourself for suffering:
The side of you that just wants to slow down and feel everything even to the unhealthy extent of not being able to do anything else(1), but also the side of you that so desperately wants you to get over it(2).
Sure, laying in bed all day every day to rot isn't healthy, but neither is boiling things down and invalidating your own emotions. Both are paths to inevitable disaster, and that's what Chonny is doing here. Keep in mind that the idea behind this album is being whole, and that means neither of these sides are entirely in the right or the wrong; this album is about inner compromise and acceptance(3).”
1.) The side of you that suffers; Heart. He is representative of Whole's emotions, he holds them. Your emotions can go haywire, especially when one's mentally ill and has no way of their feelings being validated. An emotional person like Heart suffers under the weight of crushing, devastating feelings. He wants to feel things out, have time to just process everything, even if it takes them days or weeks to get over it. It's not healthy, but feeling is what he does, and he wants to help because he knows he has importance. Solely focusing on just your emotions isn't the best thing to do, however.
2.) The side of you that so desperately wants you to get over it; Mind. Many people have been there, have wanted themselves to stop wallowing in their own emotions and just do something else, even to the point where you think feeling things out is unnecessary. This is also unhealthy, but not intentionally. Like Heart, Mind just wants to help, everything he does is in best interest. This is what he thinks will get them to move on the quickest; to leave behind emotions and focus on anything BUT that. Also not the best thing to do.
3.) This album is about inner compromise and acceptance; About being whole. Neither of Heart and Mind are right nor wrong. They have their own ways of doing things, of what they think will help their whole self out the most, but both are unhealthy despite the good intentions. They fight over who's wrong or right, when they shouldn't even be doing so in the first place. It's your thoughts against your emotions, basically; your feelings contradict your thoughts, and it leads to an inner war of sorts. This won't make things better, which is why you can't have Mind over Heart or vice versa; you'll need both of them. In the album, they are only able to be whole when they get along. They harmonize, they 'combine', they see eye to eye with each other and work together instead of fighting over and over. Inner compromise is achieved with this, and acceptance can lead them away from any disaster that there's to come.
What we're trying to say is that mental health is a large thing tackled within CCCC, and yet we see a lot of people who overlook it; thus, end up missing the point of the whole album. We see a lot of people believe Mind's perspective a little too much and treat Heart quite harshly, or the other way where people demonize Mind and say that Heart is perfect, when it's not really that in the slightest.
This is not a hate post towards people's interpretations of CCCC or how they view characters, I'm just saying that people can tend to overlook what's in the very narrative, and we see a concerning amount of people do such.
Anyways. Stream CCCC and put your Hearts and Minds in the get along shirt. Have a nice day.

I said this in a whole reblog, but just copy-pasting to a separate post because I think it'll give some reading comprehension and reblogs don't show up in the search feature.. again, I'm reiterating what I said in another post.
Go check out @demidokuriya 's post for this; OP's post made me put this all down in like. 20 minutes. Mind went vroom vroom cuz HEY THEY'RE ONTO SOMETHING.
(They also reblogged the post with some hint to some behind the scenes of what led to the ideas if you wanna check that out)
Look below at how, when Mineta told AFO to spare Tokoyami, AFO specifically went "..."
He remembers Jirou and thinks, The braying howls of the weak...
He was going to take Tokoyami's Quirk. He took Hawks'. But after Mineta pleaded with him, AFO just straight-up left and didn't take anyone else's Quirk.
AFO saw Yoichi in Mineta.
Tumblr media
These scenes are near-identical to each other.
Tumblr media
Mineta and Yoichi (at that time) are both much smaller than the normal person at their age
They're both hurt, yet dragged themselves up from the ground to throw something at AFO, to get his attention and make their voice
Both are considered weak, even if they have a Quirk (Mineta's Pop-Off and Yoichi's undeveloped Factor)
The fact that Yoichi got AFO's attention here by throwing a can at him, while Mineta got his attention by throwing a Pop-Off ball; and it stuck.
Mineta's call for his attention landed and actually stuck to AFO. This is unlike when Yoichi and his can bounced off, and AFO kicked him, not listening to him; AFO listened to Mineta and left Tokoyami alone, technically doing what Mineta wanted—to not hurt this person.
AFO just went on to hurt more people away from Mineta's [Yoichi's] eyes so the small weakling wouldn't see.
Yoichi and Mineta both cried to AFO to not hurt in his ways, when AFO was intent on stealing people's Quirks
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AFO even stole Hawks' Quirk during this time.
He had time to steal Hawks' Quirk, and though he could've tossed him to the side, he let Hawks stand in his way.
He had the energy. Right after this event, he flew off and left the scene. But he didn't go for Tokoyami immediately.
And this let Mineta play his part, and remind AFO of Yoichi.
Tumblr media
"A putrid, festering Quirk Factor."
That sounds like Yoichi, AFO.
".. such garbage."
Hey hey hey, what did Yoichi throw at him when they were kids?
A discarded can. Garbage.
This chapter (385) where AFO listens to Mineta is literally called [A Youthful Urge].
Mineta told AFO to take his Pop-Off (hurt him) instead. But last time, AFO hurt Yoichi by kicking him; this time, AFO not only listened to Mineta to not hurt Tokoyami, but didn't touch Mineta at all.
Even though this time, Mineta [Yoichi] offered to take that place of suffering.
Yoichi didn't do that back then. AFO just turned on little Yoichi anyway.
Yoichi through his whole existence is literally [the braying howls of the weak]. AFO acknowledges he's weak and idealistic, yet he still loves him.

Side note about this panel, I think it's interesting that in this vision, this was the first time we saw Yoichi's eyes: when he was being defiant, despite being pushed down by someone much stronger than him.
Really characteristic of him, honestly. Yoichi's soft-spoken and frail, but it's always reiterated that Yoichi had a powerful will against his stronger big brother.
Mineta at this moment reminded him too much of Yoichi, because the two scenes are near-identical to each other. Parallels, really.
Reiterating something from OP's post that I reblogged this from;
"The reminder of his brother made him uncomfortable, so he hurried away."
AFO didn't want to hurt Yoichi again.

The weed is making me courageous so I think my biggest unpopular opinion for Bg3 is I don’t think Astarion is sexy or cute or anything at all really. He’s just there. Like he’s just a dude with an attitude problem lol like I keep seeing people compare the man to a renaissance painting like he’s fucking Lestat. Dude wishes he was Lestat lmao he’s just some white man with high cheekbones 😂😂

My new brainrot ship is literally not as famous (basically me crying over the fact that I have no fanfictions and in order to do that, someone has to write or I have to take up the pen and do it myself.) ehem... Constantine x Madam Z
I'm no person that can whip up a good fanfic in seconds.
My followers and mutuals will now witness a descent to madness (/j) because I need my toxic/doomed yuri ship to sail.
Wlw tropes are already full of angst, nothing changes with more being added /jk /lh

You know what, actually? As a writer, I just keep going back to writing the things that people comment on. I had one fic that I was so excited for and it got absolutely zero reception and you know what? I haven't written anything on it since. I have another that I updated after a couple years, immediate enthusiastic response, I haven't been able to stop writing for it.
If you like a fic, leave a comment. That could be the difference between seeing it finished or seeing more from that author in your fandom in general.
I actually kind of regret signing up for a fandom event in one fandom bc I'd rather be writing this fic for another bc the other fandom reliably comments more and it is a spike of endorphins every time. That is especially effective for me bc I have ADHD, the 'can't produce endorphins correctly' disorder.
If you don't know what to comment, literally just key smash or leave a smiley face or quote your favorite line. You could literally leave the same comment on every fic or every chapter, it doesn't matter as long as you leave something. It's just to show that you were there and the time you spent meant something to you.
Thank you to every single person who comments on fics, you are really making someone's day.
And P.S. to fic writers, when you get a comment, responding goes a long way in making people want to continue to comment. Even if you just slap a 'Thanks for reading!' and/or a 'I'm glad you liked it!' when appropriate.
Fandom is about community interaction, so don't be afraid to interact with your community!

a lot of people put emphasis on Tails moving out as character development when Sonic and Tails grow up, and while i think Tails going off on his own adventures is the obvious next step for him, i dont think the two would ever really live seperately. maybe the times when theyre both home at the same time become less and less, maybe they both get busier, but it's nice for the both of them to come home to a brother and a warm house. i think they have separation anxiety
