DCxDP Prophecy Universe Part 7
Part 6
It took Damian the rest of the afternoon to prepare for his trip to Amity Park. Jon helpfully agreed to cover for him, on the promise of a copy of the upcoming Cheese Viking 2 and getting filled in on all the hot Bat gossip afterwards. Wasn’t friendship grand?
Pennyworth thankfully agreed that ‘bonding time’ between the Super Sons was a good use of fall break and even took the time to ‘Prepare some healthy snacks for the young Masters, lest you eat junk food the whole week’. The task also handily distracted the butler while Damian packed the Batwing with all the necessary surveillance equipment he would need and set up the program to spoof his flight data. Damian had no doubt that Father wouldn’t be fooled for long, but with the Bat it was always better to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.
The flight to Illinois was mercifully uneventful. Damian rappelled off in the middle of the eponymous city Park, then instructed the autopilot to take the plane to a wooded area outside city limits and park there in camouflage mode. Once he was sure his arrival had gone undetected, he changed into civvies and with his backpack full of gear set off in the direction of Fenton Works on foot. In jeans, sneakers, a dark hoodie and a baseball cap he looked like any other kid his age, even if he was out after curfew. Damian made sure to stick to the shadows and ducked behind cover whenever a car passed him.
All in all it took him until the early morning hours to arrive at the correct address. Intellectually, he had known the Fentons operated their workshop out of the family home, but he was in no way prepared for the monstrosity of a building that greeted him. Damian couldn’t help but stop and stare in disbelief.
What had once started out as an ordinary brownstone building had a glaring neon sign out front, proudly proclaiming the company name. Perched precariously on the roof was a gigantic metal structure that looked like a cross between a cartoon UFO and an observatory. There was no way this was legal or sane. If something like this had popped up in Gotham it would have been flagged as a Rogue hideout and bugged to hell and back. Hell, Damian was half tempted to break in immediately to start planting cameras but was held back by the likely presence of a custom security system. Mad scientists were rude like that and Damian didn’t want to tip his hand too early. He would have to at least wait until he was sure the Fentons weren’t at home.
Damian tucked his hands into the pockets of his hoodie and strolled past the building at a fake casual pace. The windows were dark and the building was silent, except for the faint hum of the neon sign. This early on a Saturday morning, the residents were likely fast asleep. He spotted an electric scooter chained up next to the stairs leading up to the entrance and made the deduction that it likely belonged to Daniel. Under the guise of retying his shoelaces, he dropped to one knee and surreptitiously attached a bug to the vehicle. Ideally he would get the opportunity to bug Daniel himself, but for now this would have to do. Hoping that no one had noticed him, Damian continued down the street.
He had researched the area ahead of time and had found an apartment a few buildings down and across the street that was advertised as available for rent and was unoccupied. Breaking in and disabling the home alarm was child’s play, and after making sure he was alone in the apartment, Damian settled in to begin his surveillance.
He pulled the handheld radiation detector out of his backpack and after making sure it was operational he slipped it into his pocket. With no way to boost its range he would have to get pretty close to Daniel with no major obstructions in the way in order to verify if he had been in contact with the marked bills he had slipped Phantom. But Damian was confident in his ability to stay undetected. After all, Daniel had no reason to suspect he was being stalked by a curious Bat.
Damian kept himself occupied by listening to the local radio broadcast over his comm. The hosts sounded like chipper twenty-somethings, excitedly shilling for various local events happening over fall break, in-between shilling for local businesses. Why anyone would want to eat at an establishment called the Nasty Burger was beyond Damian. Whenever they stopped nattering to play actual music it was a blessing even if the appeal of the songs was entirely lost on the young vigilante. Finally, at 8am they had an actual news segment. Most of it was covering major US and global events, nothing Damian hadn’t already heard. Elections, natural disasters, rising tensions in Bialya…
“...and in local news, the City Library has announced that clean-up after last week’s ghost attack is finished, and they will be open at their normal hours on Monday!” the female host said cheerily, as if she was talking about the weather. “As usual, we would like to remind our listeners to keep their third eyes peeled for any ghost sightings! In case of a ghost attack, follow standard protocol and head to your nearest ghost shelter. Thank you! And here’s Mark with sports!”
Damian was flabbergasted. Ghost attack? This city experienced supernatural incursions and treated it like it was a normal occurrence? He’d read that the Fentons were ghost hunters, but he hadn’t thought anyone was taking them seriously! If Amity Park was under attack on a regular basis, how come the Justice League didn’t have a file on the city? Surely the news should have leaked to the outside world by now!
It was rare that Damian was caught so utterly wrong footed. His cursory research into Amity Park had turned up nothing like this! He was itching to get back to the Batcomputer to do a deep dive on the city and its history. Unfortunately, all he had on him was his phone which was ill suited for serious data compilation. At best he could scour local news sites and social media for any hint as to what was going on.
After half an hour of fruitless searching, he gave up in disgust. There was no mention of ghosts anywhere, save for the Fentons’ own website. Yet the news report had been almost blasé about the subject! Something was rotten in the State of Illinois.
All he could do for now was stare out the window at the Fenton’s front porch and hope his quarry made an appearance soon.
At 9.13 AM there was finally movement at the Fenton house. A dark-haired teenager in jeans, a light T-shirt, a backpack and a bicycle helmet bounded down the front steps and unlocked the electric scooter. It was unmistakably Daniel.
Damian hurriedly packed away his things, grabbed his backpack and left the apartment. He made sure to rearm the security system and lock the door, leaving no trace of ever having been there. Of course Damian wasn’t about to pursue his target across the rooftops of an unknown city in broad daylight. He would just have to wait for Daniel to arrive at his destination and follow him there. He retrieved his phone and pulled up the tracking data. It looked like the teen was headed towards the city center.
Damian tuned his comm to the listening device he had planted and set off towards downtown Amity at a light jog. For a while, all he heard was background noise. After about ten minutes, Daniel came to a stop.
“Hey Tucker, ready to go?” That had to be Daniel.
“Hey Danny!” a second male voice answered, “I was just waiting for you. Sam says she’ll meet us at the main entrance of the mall.”
“Sweet. Hopefully we can grab something cool from Game’O’Rama if we beat the rush.”
“You said it, my dude. Come on!”
The tracker resumed its movement. Now that he had a destination, Damian used his phone to call a cab. There couldn’t be that many malls in a city this size.
Daniel and his friend ‘Tucker’ kept up a steady stream of idle chatter on their journey. Damian learned more than he ever wanted to know about the attractive qualities of the female students at their high school, the tediousness of the homework assignments they had received for the week and the reviews of recent horror movie releases. Inconsequential chit chat as far as Damian was concerned. Once the pair arrived at their destination they parked their scooters and were soon out of range of the listening device. Damian cut the transmission and spent the rest of the short cab ride trying to find information on Daniel’s companion. Since they were apparently classmates and he had a first name to go on, it didn’t take long to narrow it down to Tucker Foley. Damian made a mental note to investigate him in depth later.
The mall was moderately busy when he arrived but nowhere near as bad as Gotham. Luckily there was a floorplan displayed at the entrance and it didn’t take Damian long to find the Game’O’Rama store. Predictably, it was dedicated to video games, gaming accessories and memorabilia. A sign in the window announced a major weekend sale, likely what had drawn Daniel and his companions. Damian slipped on a pair of mirrored sunglasses to conceal his eyes and meandered into the store. Wandering between the aisles, pretending to examine the games on offer, it didn’t take him long to find his quarry and Damian got his first good look at the trio.
Daniel was almost a head taller than Damian, slightly paler and with his dark hair mussed up from the scooter ride earlier. His clothes were slightly threadbare, and not the kind that was intentional. His white T-shirt bore a faded NASA logo and his jeans were frayed at the cuffs. He had dark circles under his eyes, though not nearly as bad as Drake got when he was on a case. Nonetheless, for the moment he seemed cheerful and at ease. He was examining the back of a disk case.
“I don’t know Tuck, I’m not much for medieval fantasy,” he said amusedly, “and a lot of these monsters look like ghosts we’ve seen. I get enough of them on a day to day basis, I don’t need them in my video games too.”
Again, this talk of ghosts.
The African American male next to Daniel had to be Tucker Foley. He was just a few inches shorter than Daniel, with his hair in shoulder length dreadlocks partially covered by a red beret. A matching red T-shirt with white Atari logo and baggy camo pants screamed nerd even before you got close enough to notice the black rimmed glasses and the clunky looking device he was tapping away on. Where did he get it from, the middle-ages?
“Look, the reviews are pretty great, and if we avoid everything ghost related what’s even left?” the boy argued, “You can’t let ghosts ruin your fun, man.”
“Tucker’s right, Danny.” the third member of their group chimed in. She was dressed head to toe in black, with a sheer, lacy top, a knee-length skirt, fishnet gloves and stockings and a pair of combat boots. With the thick soles giving her added height, she was almost as tall as Daniel. She wore eerily pale foundation making her dark purple lipstick and eyeshadow pop out even more. She had a small nose stud with a matching purple stone. Her earrings were shaped like spiders dangling from a web and she wore a pentagram necklace. Damian knew some of his schoolmates belonged to the goth subculture, but Gotham Academy’s dress code heavily limited such self-expression on campus. He guessed this girl was either really dedicated to the style or really dedicated to pissing off her parents. Maybe both. This had to be ‘Sam’.
“Besides, if Technus couldn’t ruin gaming for us no one else should either!” she continued.
“Fiiiiine,” Daniel sighed, clearly playing up his reluctance. “but if Amity gets attacked by an army of goblins next I reserve the right to say ‘I told you so’!” He double checked the price tag. “Splitsies?”
The girl scoffed and plucked the case from his hand. “I’ll take this one, you can pay for lunch later. Why don’t you two go ahead to Pineapple Republic for those jeans you wanted? I’ll catch up to you.”
“If you’re sure. Thanks Sam!” Daniel leaned over and gave her a peck on the cheek. “I guess we’ll see you there.”
“Yeah, thanks Sam.”
“Go on, shoo!” she laughed and headed over to the cash register as the boys left the store. Making a split second decision, Damian grabbed a random game from the shelf and got in line behind Sam. He leaned slightly towards her, pretending to examine the figurines behind the counter and stealthily stuck a bug to her skirt. Now he could listen in on their conversation without having to risk being noticed.
After paying for his purchase he wandered off in the direction the other teens had taken. He would just have to leave the game somewhere ‘accidentally’ at the earliest opportunity. Pretending to check his phone he tuned his comm to the frequency of the new bug.
“...I think those are still a little short on you.” Sam said amusedly.
“Man, I’m glad I finally got my growth spurt, but having to replace most of my wardrobe is gonna be a pain in the ass!” Daniel complained.
“Look at it this way Danny, this could be your chance to branch out. A whole new style, a whole new you!” Sam countered enthusiastically.
Damian walked towards the source of the signal. He didn’t follow the trio directly into Pineapple Republic, instead heading into the shoe store across from the clothing store. Browsing there would let him keep an eye on the entrance.
“Let me guess, would this style include black, black and more black?” came Foley’s snarky voice.
“Black is timeless, I’ll have you know,” Sam sniffed in mock offense, “and Danny does look good in it. Just try it?”
“I don’t know Sam, I don’t wanna blow my allowance on clothes that don’t feel like me.”
“Oh! We could always try the thrift store, they have plenty of cool stuff! And upcycling is great for the environment.”
“Uh, hard pass,” came the flat reply, “I would like to survive the year with some of my dignity intact, please.”
“Yeah dude, if Dash and his cronies caught wind of Danny going to Goodwill or something they’d never let him live it down.”
“There is nothing wrong with buying second-hand!”
“Says the girl in $500 guaranteed cruelty free designer boots.” Foley shot back.
“That’s different!” Sam sputtered, “And besides, I don’t see why you still chase the approval of those jerks.”
“Easy guys, settle down,” Daniel said placatingly, “Sam, you know it’s different for us. You might be able to brush off Paulina’s snarky comments, but I can’t just brush off Dash trying to rearrange my face. I’d rather not paint an even bigger target on my back.”
Sam gave a loud sigh. “Ugh, stupid high school politics. I can’t wait to graduate.”
“I dunno, if things go according to plan you’ll have to deal with real politics, Ms Future Administrator of the EPA Manson.” Daniel teased.
“You mean Senator Manson.” Foley chimed in.
“Madam President Manson!”
“Stop it guys!” the girl laughed, “I’ll leave the political ass kissing to someone else. I just want to save the planet! But I gotta get my doctorate first.”
“Well if you do end up having to take over the country to do it, there’s one thing to keep in mind,” Foley said sagely, “You can’t be much worse than President Luthor.”
The two replied with fake gagging noises while Foley just snickered.
“But seriously, since you brought up mixing up my style… I was thinking of getting my ears pierced.” Daniel said hesitantly.
“Really? Ooh, do you want studs? Danglers? An industrial?” Sam gushed excitedly.
“Well… aw nuts.” Daniel’s voice was suddenly tense.
“You know what?” Sam rushed out, equally tense, “I think you should go and try these pants on. In the changing room. Right now.”
Damian frowned. What the hell had happened? He glanced out the shop window but couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary. Suddenly, he heard distant screams and the sound of glass breaking. It’s almost like being back in Gotham.

Since fowlfest is coming up and I'm too impatient to wait I'm going to share my Artemis fowl ocs and a bit of their stories here.
Tumblr media
Blanche Kastiel | 16
Aspiring fashion designer he studies at St. Bartleby's school for boys, he got in through a scholarship after winning a contest that required him to design a new building for them.
He currently lives with one of his parents close friends and befriends Artemis after he persistently tries to sit with him during class.
*not from any au his just there for fun.
Tumblr media
Anastasia | 15
A star guardian who is trying to figure out what their unfinished business is.
Meets Artemis because he detects a spike in energy which was actually Anastasia coming back from the dead as a guardian.
Guardians are the souls of the dead that are given a second chance because of their unfinished business, they also have the ability to jump through time and kill people by turning them into stars.
They are capable of seeing your entire past, present and future by looking at you and have to keep their eyes closed to ensure they don't constantly get random people's memories beamed into their brains.
Unfortunately for them they are unable to see the past or remember anything from before they died so most guardians wander the earth for eternity without a clue of what they're supposed to do.
*they only exist because I saw a book called wayfarer and then ran with that name.
Tumblr media
Isadora Briar | 17
Antihero who dresses like a crow.
They are basically like a sort of phantom thief that steals rare jewels, has a girlfriend by the name of Marie Anette Fleur who is also a sort of Anti hero.
Has the ability to amplify themselves such as making themselves stronger.
*hero au that I will never write.
Tumblr media
Marie Anette Fleur | 17
Antihero who dresses like Marie Antoinette.
Trapped in a tower by her parents she is saved by Isadora when they break in trying to steal a rare jewel.
Extremely naive and kind she thinks of the world as if it were a fairy tale and Isadora her prince charming extremely powerful and a ticking time bomb she was sealed by her parents when she was a kid to ensure she wouldn't endanger anyone.
Has the ability to warp time and space itself.
*Artemis is a sort of vigilante who decides to form a team to break into a high security vault in this au btw.
Tumblr media
Yael O'Doylei | 18
Prodigal zealot wizard he wishes to bring back the old gods known as the faceless ones.
Raised in a family that worshipped the faceless ones he was trained since birth to be a vessel for the gods and bring about the end.
*from my skulduggery pleasant au.

Heve you talked about Danny's background for your normie au? 👀👀 Like did he gain his powers from the accident or was it something else? How did he find out about monster high and why is he a student there? What about his parents? Do they know? Did they decide to enroll him there so he'd be around similar kids his age? Or did Jazz have something to do with it?
There's so much i wanna know !!!
Anyways, I love your au and what your doing with it. I wait patiently to see what else you do <333
theres so much I wanna know to lol! There's just so many different fun ways to take it that it's kinda hard to decide ^^; Tho for my Half Normie AU I had kinda imagined everything is actually kickstarted by Tucker finding out he's a werewolf. Up until then everything's just kinda the same? Kicking ghost butt back into the GZ and struggling in school. Ya know the drill... sneaking suspicion I'm gonna make this long soo
Danny is a first-generation monster, as Ghosts tend to be(in monster high anyways) and did still get his powers from the portal accident! There isn't really any reason for him to fight or anything so now his powers are all just nifty little party tricks for the other ghouls to ooh and ah at.
He is also generally as unconnected from the Monster World as one would be in his case(I kinda think it'd be funny if his folks thought New Salem's Monster Inclusivity thing was some kinda tourist gimmick hoax. Similar to how outsiders think Amity Park is just some ridiculous Bit that the whole towns in on). Then ya add in how in the MHU(Monster High Universe hehe) its pretty well understood that most monsters have sorta formed their own independent communities away from each other, only really intermingling in big cities with large monster undergrounds. Such as fondly nicknamed Boo York, Hauntlywood, or New Goreleans etc. etc.
I just think it makes the most sense for Danny to be a lil blindsided by the concept. Takes a short lil moment to process, before being like "yeah that checks out"
It's really not until Tucker tells him about this school in New Salem that his parents are planning on sending him to because of his newfound wolfy appendages and whatnot. That Sam and him hear about this place. Sam is... undescribably mad about Not having a reason to transfer there too at first btw.
Which also! New Salem is in Oregon so like,,,,,, Gravity Falls??? no, Ya know what that's a different au for a different time
I'm not entirely sure how Danny winds up transferring there afterward, but the timeline I think vaguely goes as such:
One of Danny's Regulars(maybe Technus? I kinda think itd be cool if he becomes a teacher there later on) winds up at monster high and either Tucker calls up Danny or he had his own lil sneaking suspicion and followed on his own as well. And that whole hullabaloo is the ghoul squad's first introduction to Danny Phantom. (he does get asked if he's related to Operetta). There's like a whole drawn-out plot, probably, that I haven't exactly nailed down. Lots of running around keeping secrets from the ghouls and befriending monsters that just kinda Get It. Like Jackson and Operetta!
Eventually Headmistress Bloodgood and Jazz team up to just have him enrolled there, Jazz deals with the human side of things while Bloodgood gets him set up with a place to stay maybe? Do you think they'd just make him his own lil ghost portal to travel back and forth or would he just Live There Now? Cuz Monster High does also have a dormitory too. I think both.
I'm also thinking its prob like two years into being a Halfa for Danny so he's like 16. And the ghost activity in Amity Park has kinda found a rhythm and calmed down. Not as life-threatening. People know how to protect themselves, and hey! There's always Val and Danielle around at the least. Malevolent Spirits get a permaban from Monster High after the whole fiasco with the Red Lady literally kidnapping people to trap for all eternity in her Misery School.

Presenting...Pulptober 2021.
So, I initially said I’d keep tweaking it, and I...haven’t really done that. Made maybe one change, and that not very substantive. But, anyways, here it is folks, the listing for Pulptober 2021, which I will be periodically self-RBing in an attempt to signal boost; I’d appreciate if my Followers would do so as well.
(BTW, you will notice there are some very notable absences from this list; that’s deliberate, as I’ve decided to save some of the big names for Pulptober 2022. I’m not sure if I should change the themes for the ones I’m not removing or not)
Again, the reason for having both a specific character and a theme on each day is so that participants have a choice, of arting either the listed char, or doing a character of their choice who fits the theme of the day; EG, on Oct. 18th, if you don’t want to do Fu Manchu, you can do Fantomas, or Doctor Satan, or Robur, etc.
Note, if you

58 thoughts I had while watching Invincible EP 1 [Out of Context]
{Spoilers ahead}
These are some thoughts I got while watching the first episode of Invincible.
Few things before,
I love DC comics and this is my first time watching anything put out by Image Comics
I never heard of the Invincible comics and I am watching this without reading anything about the show beforehand.
So, let's begin:
1. If that security man dies I'm gonna cry.
2. " It has to be a spectacle" boy every terrorist’s motto!
3. Seriously this team is just the justice league.
4. Good on you fish out of water Aquaman.
5. But really, 2 vs 8 can't be fair.
6. OMG Louis Lane.
7. What a bratty kid.
8. Okay not so bratty, the parents are too frisky.
9. Is this a Sky High rip off?
10. My God that harassment scene. Hits too close to home.
11. Grayson?!?!?!!! Like Dick Grayson?!?!? Did they rip off my Nightwing too?!? OMG.
12. Ouch.
13. Double ouch.
14. Burger mart? Really? Might as well said “Not A Brand Name” burger store.
15. Yup, sky high
16. Why does Omni man have the speech pattern of President Barak Obama? I'm not complaining, it just makes me want to look up Obamacare again just to make sure I still understand it.
17. Excccuuuuusssse me? Lesser developed worlds? You saved like 4 people while the Justice League saved everyone there.
18. Omni man is hot though, tbh
19. I am so happy I never got the puberty talk from my parents. My Mom told all that I needed to know if I ever get my period and that's it. Thank God for sex education class. "Hair in strange places" *shudders*
20. Why does the kid have a Canada shirt? Again, not complaining, love Canada. Just confused.
21. Oh baby no
22. Oh baby yes
23. Oh baby no
24. Why aren't they wearing masks? Like superhero identity masks?
25. I really like the explanation Omni man is giving about flying.
26. OH NOOOOOOOOOOO
27. That is not........... I mean........ I know why he did it......... But still? Oh boy. I really think he should have told him he was gonna hit him. They should have had Grayson learn a martial art even before he got his powers, it could have given him a huge edge while fighting.
28. Oh his name is Mark? And can someone please tell me, is that how bullying really happens in the US? I really really wanna know. If it does, I am so so sorry you guys have to go through that.
29. Oh look, it's The Thing from The Fantastic Four.
30. I think I just read too many comics and now everything seems like plagiarism to me. Mark has the personality of Wally West and the powers of Superman and has the looks and partial name of Dick Grayson.
31. Is that Jason Todd I see with the hit me scene?
32. Would it have hurt Omni man to say, "You will son, maybe be better than me someday?” Or "I am proud of what you want to do now"?
33. Since there is so much going on, they should have just have Edna instead of this old guy. Oh I forgot, never mess with Disney. DC is fine, but nnnneeeevvveeerrr Disney.
34. Orange and yellow, yup, that's Geoforce.
35. Omniman’s costume suck though.
36. Hell no, DO NOT TALK TO YOUR MOTHER LIKE THAT!!!!!!
37. Aww
38. That's a weak sauce way of getting a superhero name. I mean, it’s technically how Nightwing got his name, but at least Superman had a good story to tell.
39. GOD DAMN IT if it weren't for the yellow that's def Nightwing costume.
40. I love Cage the Elephant
41. Crap indeed
42. I hope this doesn't end up like Man of Steel.
43. Why is the Flash Russian? Oh, I get it ( lame cuz he's always ” Rush”ian joke )
44. That IS Iris West if not for the green eyes btw.
45. Aww Manipulation (jk)
46. Why Denver? What did that city ever do to you or anyone? Just head towards the mountains and enjoy the view.
47. Won't that criminal die in space? Oh.
48. Aww poor fish king.
49. Oh that's not Wonder Woman that’s Sailor Moon.
50. If you ever can, please read Patton Oswalt's JLA: Welcome to the Working Week. You will definitely enjoy it. It's not the greatest comic ever written, but it is a really fun read.
51. Is the green lady Princess Emerald like Princess Amethyst
52. Okay she's not.
53. She's kinda Green Lantern-ish or even Danny Phantom-ish.
54. She's hot.
55. This Batman confuses me. First he has a hover board like Static Shock and now he's quippier than Jim Carrey.
56. Still hot though
57. Aren't our mountains already disintegrating? Couldn't they just have a fortress of solitude? Or an island of remoteness, or a volcano of emptiness or a sound of silence? (sorry)
58. Oh My God

Hypothetical P5A
Okay, gonna make this clear right up front, I wanted to make this post for a while but the main reason I decided to do it now is because the Atlus announcement thing is almost here, and also cause I saw a video on this topic by Thorgi’s Arcade (go watch it btw it’s good) and while I agree with a lot of what he said, there’s also some things I’d change, not just cause I disagree, but also cause I think it would be fun. Anyway enough beating around the bush, let’s do this
Gameplay
I’m a firm believer in the phrase, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, and the Arena games are already really good so not much to change. That being said, I still wanna change some things. First off though, we are keeping this 1 vs 1, no tag team matches. The arena games already have a lot of Mechanics going on and trying to keep everything as well as some new stuff WHILE adding a tag team button, yeah no let’s not outside of maybe a bonus mode.
This means I can’t add Batton Pass in as a new mechanic to represent P5, but I have a solution, that being Technicals. Status ailments already exist in this game, so how about when you inflict one and do a specific combo you do more damage, also providing risk vs reward as the player with the status will have a better idea of what the opponent will do making them more predictable. Also as for Persona’s, mostly everyone’s will be fully evolved, minus Yu cause him getting a final boss persona normally is a tad to OP, meanwhile the P5 characters will have their starting Persona’s, but they will evolve for big moves, like awakened mode supers and instant kills
I’m also borrowing Thorgi’s Arcade idea of having supports giving a slight buff in battle, like if you pick Fuuka your meter can build faster for a bit, meanwhile if you pick Futaba you’ll get an attack and defence buff. It’s the fairest way to include them without having to make them playable. I know Rise is already playable but this roster is going to have to be small as it is, and being a support doesn’t mean you can’t be DLC later.
Tumblr media
Also, we’re not bringing back the Shadow Characters, just, we are not dealing with the likes of Shadow Naoto again.
:readmore:
Story
I am about to cop out a bit here, but Thorgi’s Arcade video had a really good idea for the story so I’ll just link it here https://youtu.be/yyB5rEM9UVU
youtube
To summarise for people who don’t want to watch, Nyarlathotep, the main villain from the Persona 2 games, has been gaining strength from all the suffering humanity has gone through due to 3, 4 and 5, and has gained enough strength to create a new Joker to try finish what he started and destroy the world. Mitsuru might think the Phantom Thieves are behind it cause this is clearly persona related and the fact that the leader of the PT’s is also named Joker is public knowledge, Naoto gets largely the same idea, Katsuya and Maya decide to have their own investigation, meanwhile the Phantom Thieves are trying to prove their innocence and help save the world. Nice excuse to bring everyone together, but who will the everyone be?
Base Roster
Okay, I know the dream is getting everyone from Ultimax back plus the new P5 characters, but given Arc System’s standard for small base rosters, I’m not holding my breath. The ideal would be everyone plus who I’m about to say for P2 and P5, but I’m keeping it… somewhat realistic. Anyway onto the actual size, 16 seems fair enough. One more than the most recent Guilty Gear game for a series that had pretty big success so that sound fair enough. Let’s get the obvious out of the way though, all the base 8 Phantom Thieves besides Futaba are making the cut
Tumblr media
Okay so that’s obvious but how will they play? Starting off with Ren/Joker, Smash Bros already laid a great foundation with him being very fast on the ground and in the air plus being great at combos, so I see no reason to change that. Also no need for him to be a Jack of all trades either cause spoilers, Yu is coming back and he already fills that role.
As for the others, Ryuji I can see being a slugger charge hybrid. Basically starting out he hits pretty hard but is a bit on the slow side to compensate, but just like any good athlete, give him a chance to warm up, ie do a charge input, and he becomes a lot faster and has better combo potential. Or we could make him a toned down version of Little Mac where he’s great on the ground but he’s in trouble the second aerial combat is involved. Then there’s Morgana who with his ability to turn into cars and the fact he introduces thief tools like smoke bombs, I can see him being a faster but frailer successor to Teddie.
Then there’s Ann who, no doubt, she’s a Zoner, and with her fire she’ll be Yukiko’s sort of successor. However instead of healing, I’d implement the fact that she learns concentrate and have it so the more she charges it up, the stronger her attacks get, but the Meter will gradually go down over the match. Yusuke, as tempting as it is to cop out and say ‘have him play like Vergil in Marvel vs Capcom’, I have a different idea. Namely, take advantage of the fact that Yusuke can learn counter by having him be the defensive specialist, set up ice traps to freeze the opponent, and if they get close, he can either counter or go for some combos.
Then there’s Makoto who would definitely be a grappler. I mean, she practices Aikido and is really strong, she can 100% pull it off. Finally Haru…… TANK! I mean come on, Haru wields an axe, has a grenade launcher, and Melady is literally a dancing tank in a pink dress, it just makes too much sense. I’d also give her a bit of armor cause if she’s slow she at least needs a chance to get her attacks in.
Okay so that’s 7 out of our 16 slots down, and given that one slot will have to be saved for the Evil Joker who would be the villain, we’re halfway done with 3 games to go, lord help me.
Tumblr media
Okay, starting this off with P4, I’m gonna give them more than the others purely because they were the focus of the originals and there’s less realistic cuts I can make compared to 2 and 3. To make things simple, every returning character would play the same, and as for the ones I’d bring back for the base roster, we’ve got Yu, Yosuke, Chie and Naoto. Why them specifically? Well Yu is the main character, Naoto being a detective would basically mean she’d be the one getting everyone involved in the first place, Chie is currently training to be a cop as confirmed in P5 so her getting called in makes sense, and Yosuke is the best investigator after Yu and Naoto, he’s always up for a mystery and the second he learns Yu is involved he’s joining in. I just couldn’t cut him.
Tumblr media
Now before the really painful cuts, Persona 2 is really easy. Out of Innocent Sin party members, by the end of the series Maya is the only one left with a Persona, and Katsuya is not only older brother of Innocent Sin’s protag Tatsuya, but he’s also pretty important and a detective so he’s definetly the one Maya’s dragging into this. As for how they play, they both use guns like Naoto, but how I’d mix them up is with Katsuya, I’d let him attack while moving (unlike Naoto who has so stay still to fire) at the cost of less combo potential, meanwhile Maya dual wields her guns so she’ll probably play like Noel Vermillion from BlazBlue where she’d more or less just use the guns to get longer reach melee attacks instead of shooting.
Tumblr media
Now, for the hard part. There’s only 2 slots left, one of them basically has to go to Mitsuru (not that I’m complaining I’d probably add her anyway) meaning now I have to choose between the rest of the Shadow Operatives/SEES for the last slot. I narrowed it down to the 3 that were in the original Arena cause they’re the most plot relevant, but that still meant I had to choose between Akihiko and Aigis. I ended up deciding on Aigis though cause A, with Labrys not making the base roster someone has to represent the robots of the series, and B, with Akihiko currently pulling a Ryu by travelling to get stronger, it makes more sense that Aigis would be closer and easier for Mitsuru to call up. Honestly I was tempted to bump the roster up to 17 so I could have both of them on the base roster, but this is ArcSystems, 16 is already kinda pushing it.
DLC
Given that this is a modern fighting game, DLC is inevitable. However since this DLC will likely be like Ultimax where the story acts to wrap up loose ends and have a new story, it’s going yo be big, especially since there’s going to be a fight with Nyaraloptep, so go big or go home in this case. Okay so first order of business, anyone who was in the previous arena games who wasn’t in the base roster is getting added back in, it’s only fair. That out of the way, the new faces I’d add are Futaba actually being playable now and the big 4 P5 characters I skipped, Akechi, Yoshizawa, and Sophie. Before anyone asks though, Sophie was added into a Dragalia Lost collab with Koei Techmo not being credited so she’s likely Atlus’s copyright so she's safe to add.
With that out of the way, how would they play? Starting with Futaba, I’d think she’d be the resident puppet fighter, sitting on top of Necinomicon and only occasionally adding in some of her own attacks like a projectile. Also she'd also probably act as a bit of a grappler cause her Persona has tentacles (no hentai jokes please) which have long reach so that'll be perfect for it. Next up is Akechi who I can see as semi being two characters in one. My basic idea is that at first Akechi will be fighting with Robin Hood and he'll be a solid jack of all trades with a slight focus on rush down. However once he goes into his awakened mode he'll gain Loki, which will increase his speed and attack strength, at the cost of his defence, turning him into a glass cannon.
Next is Yoshizawa, or 'Sumi as I like to call her, and her thing will be she's the mobility focused fighter, namely constantly moving around the stage and poking at her opponent while doing it, at the cost of being frail. Finally there’s Sophie who would be a combo focused zoner, as in her standard projectiles (the yo-yo’s) wouldn’t hurt that much on their own, but she can string them together into the fancy yo-yo tricks to potentially do big damage. As for how much this DLC would cost, it’s going to be very big, so €25 to €30 sounds fair
I think that more or less covers my thoughts. I could keep going on about this for a while, but I think this is a good place to stop. Hope you like my idea!

RvB Season 15: Top 3 Worst Things
With Season 16 only weeks away, I’ve been going back over Season 15 a lot the past few days. I’m very late to the party on giving critique because at first, I had zero issues with the season. And overall, I think it’s still a very good one. But... it’s not flawless. There’s definitely a few issues that could bring the season down for some and now that I ave a clearer mind, I can’t ignore it. But I also think that there’s plenty to praise about the season as well, so... I’m going to make two Top 3 Lists, starting with the Worst. Note, this post exists for critical reasons. This is not an attack on Joe, Miles, Burnie, or anyone at Rooster Teeth. There is no reason for it. I want to see Joe improve, not bring him down. SO if you want that, kindly fuck off. For now, lets get into the list!
...that got incredibly long so look under the cut!
Top Three Worst Things ABout RvB15
3. The Film Refrences Are Overly Used
Joe Nicolosi has admitted to being a movie buff, and I always feel like you should use what you like/what you’re good at when making anything. Jax’s character existed to use film humor, and at first it was pretty good. Things like him the Citizen Kane reference and Force Awakens reference in Episode 4, Jax forgetting to record in Episode 5, and his jokes in Episode 7 were legitimately funny. The problem is... they never stopped. It’s perfectly fine to use a running gag, and Hell RvB HAS used pop culture humor multiple times. It’s a show based on Halo after all. But Nicolosi used in in every episode and it stopped being funny. Jax became annoying and while he was helpful in getting footage of Temple’s plans and distracting Lorenzo, he got grating because he wouldn’t shut up. And if you are like me and don’t understand all the references, it’s going to feel like Joe is cramming them down your throat. Fortunately, hes said that he’s going to hold back some in the upcoming season, which is good. He listened, and that's important. I don’t mind this kind of humor at all, just... space it out a little and don’t wear it out. Otherwise, ti just becomes annoying and unbearable and for a show like RvB, that’s something you just can’t afford to do.
2, The Blues and Reds
The idea of using evil versions of characters is always a fun plot. Its a good way to show how the heroic character has grown or even trigger them into growing. For example, in Danny Phantom he’s faced with an evil future version of himself and it is horrifying. It leads to Danny not only maturing a little to not make the mistakes, but he’a chance to fix the damage and does so. It’s a great example of a hero being faced with the worst of himself and choosing to become something better. This idea for RvB was a legit good idea and leads to a lot of possibilities. So the problem? There’s a few...
First, the copies are just exaggerations of the Reds and Blues. They don’t feel like characters aside form Temple, Loco, and Biff and I’ll explain why in a bit. The others feel incredibly shallow. I mean Hell, Simmons’ copy is voiced by Gus still even though everyone else got a different voice actor. I mean it leads to the amazing moment in Episode 20.. but at the same time he still feels less like a character and more like a plot device. The Blues and Reds, aside form the ones I listed, just feel like they’re there because the plot demanded that everyone have some kind of copy. It’same issue I felt Miles had with The CHorus Trilogy, he added a lot of characters but couldn’t do a lot with the majority of them due to time.
In relation to this... why are they committing to this plan? I know what you’re, “Well Biff was horribly killed and they realized they were pawns”. No. That is Temple’s motivation. He is angry that his best friend was murdered in cold blood and that it was ultimately for no reason. Loco’s motivation is to be Temple’s best friend, but unlike everyone else he has regrets about it and uses his final moments to make it up to Caboose. It gives him a character even if he is more or less a Caboose copy, but it’s something. Biff is dead, but they did take the time to explain why he ended up int he military, why he wanted out, and he was an overall nice guy who isn’t like Grif aside form wanting out of the military, wears orange, and the Sarge copy hating him. Similar want, completely different motivation and character.
Why do Surge, Gene, Lorenzo, Cronut, and Bucky want revenge? Why are they committing to Temple’s insane plan? Why si no one questioning this Did they before? How did Temple convince the Reds into it? Maybe if we saw their reactions when they found the Freelancer Base and the truth, liek we did with our guys, that would be answered. But we don’t know. We don’t knwo why any of them would go along with this, or at least not ask if this is the right thing to do. We know that Temple cared about Biff, but what about Biff’s actual team? Likely he and Gene weren't as close as Grif and Simmons are, but did they have a friendship at all? We saw briefly that Surge may feel bad about Biff’s death, but he doesn't express it and it’s more based on his need to obey orders than anything. We don’t know Biff’s relationship with his team, so you question why they’re going along with it and... do you see what I’m getting at?
The Blues and Reds feel shallow and one-note. A lot of people don’t like Temple because he’s an asshole...a nd he is. But at least they fleshed out his motivation and character so even though you hate him, at least you see why he’s doing what he’s doing. Loco overall i also fine since he differed and did have a conscious. The others though Wasted. They just to because this plot demanded it and nothing is done to make them distinctive. We just want to see them die... okay maybe that was the intent, but still it made them weak villains and I’m not going to be missing them. But hey, we got the moment in Episode 20 due to it so... it’s not all bad.
1. It Was One Season
This is by far the biggest issue with the season. The were a lot of ideas for this season, and you can tell. It was a legit good idea and could have carried two seasons worth of stories... but for some reason they decided to make it a standalone. IDK if it was Joe who decided this or Burnie and Matt did, but it meant that things had to be rushed. You now what I said above? About the villains falling flat? If they had more time, chances are they could have fixed that. But because it was condensed into one season of 21 episodes, they couldn’t.
Now if it had been two seasons, they could have worked on some more things. Like what I said above about the villains and maybe extending the flashback so we could see them discovering the truth. We could have had some mroe solid characterization and understood what was motivating everyone into such drastic actions. Outside that, we could have seen how Red Team was dealing with Grif quitting more and explored things like Donut feeling left out or watching Sarge’s descent into siding with the Blues and Reds. Heck, we could have had Simmons maybe play up siding with the Blues and Reds for an episode, then actually trigger an escape plan that fails, but it would show us that he's what his kissassing ways. Especially if they emphasize on how much worst Gene is at lot and have it be like old Simmons is talking to current Simmons, provoking him further into becoming more independent. That would also justify Gus (who did a great job in the season BTW) being the voice actor for both which let sit feel less like it’s for just a joke and make it even more impactful since it’s current Simmons talking to himself essentially. Which would make the moment in Episode 20 even mroe satisfying. It took me about five minutes to come up with this and in a larger story could have been an effective and if played right funny character arc... but in a one season story, it would have taken up too much time so it wouldn’t be able to be included. But do you see how Simmons would get character development base don both his feelings about losing Grif and for his own benefit? And how it would make Gene a much stronger evil reflection, becoming something for Simmons to overcome and be better than by the end?
I’m saying is’the standalone format caused things to be rushed and ideas to be wasted. As I said, there as enough for two seasons worth. The first season could have the content of... the first fourteen episodes. If you do it as a typical 19 or 20 episode season, you get 5-6 more episodes to play with more ideas. Int he second half, we can start with showing Grif again and bringing Locus back in. Maybe have them go on a little roadtrip where they gather more people like Sister or something, letting her be a regular again and not in just two episodes. You have more room to experiment like show how far Locus has come, have Grif Sibs humor, let Sister have more character and show that she can be clever and resourceful, show more of how Grif’s isolation really affected him and how he needs the others. You can still make all of that both funny and emotional like have Grif and Sister talking about their various shenanigains and Grif is at first complaining about all the shit he goes through. Then he slowly starts talking more slowly about the dumb things and how he hates everyone.. but he also misses them all, feels horrible for walking out like he did, and show how negatively he thinks about himself. Sister, in her own way, makes him feel better. You get comedy, character development, and fun interactions that way. See where I’m going?
There great ideas and opportunities with this season. Hell, the possibility of meeting more Freelancers is pretty cool. But because we only had one season, they had to finish the plot in limited time. They couldn’t explore the opportunity gift-wrapped for them. Int he end they still made a good product, but you still are left feeling like there was so much more that could have been done. Like if I were paid to rewrite Season 15 and was able to make it a two parter, I already have a general idea of what I would do. It is doable.  But if I had only one season... yeah, I’d have to cutback a LOT of it. Like I said, IDK whose idea it was, but it was in hindsight one that hurt the season. Because of this, ti is the worst thing about Season 15.
And there you have it! 'l best another day, typing this took me an hour. And regardless, I really enjoyed the season. It could have bee so much more, but I will gladly take what I got. Joe’s already stated on how he’s read the critiques and will try to improve, and that is important for any content creator. So I wish him the best of luck,a nd now I can feel better now that this is out of my system.

Your Friday Morning Roundup
Despite not having the dominance of Joel Embiid or the grittiness of T.J. McConnell for last night’s matchup against Boston, the second of a back-to-back, the Sixers did a decent job of making it a game. They did lose by 11, but you could argue they played better than their first meeting back in October, which they lost by 10.
Ben Simmons, fresh off the Hack-a-Simmons fest Wednesday night, had another good game, scoring 15 points to go along with seven assists, six rebounds, and five steals. He also had a sick reverse putback dunk in the fourth quarter:
15 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 5 steals for @BenSimmons25 vs the C's. http://pic.twitter.com/ncdf93zVEd
— Philadelphia 76ers (@sixers) December 1, 2017
Dario Saric led the way with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and JJ Redick scored 17.
The Sixers continue to run the Eastern Conference gauntlet Saturday at home against the Detroit Pistons. That will begin a three-game homestand that also includes Phoenix and the LA Lakers.
As for McConnell’s left shoulder, he has a sprained AC joint and tests came back negative for any structural damage. He wants to play Saturday night, but the team did not give a timetable on his return. Jacob Pullen was activated for last night’s game, but did not log any minutes.
The Roundup:
But first, a shipping update on some of your holiday products from the Crossing Broad store.
The Eagles continue to prepare for Sunday night’s game out west against the Seattle Seahawks. Linebacker Joe Walker did not practice, while Derek Barnett and Jason Kelce were both limited.
The Seahawks’ “Legion of Boom” defense has been banged up throughout the season, and they’ll be without Cliff Avril, Richard Sherman, and Kam Chancellor for the game. However, they’ve still been one of the best defenses in the league, but LeGarrette Blount doesn’t see anything special with them:
“We’ll play them just like we play everybody else,” he said when asked how the Birds offense is preparing for Seattle’s D. “They’re not anything special or anything different from any other team.”
As for his own running game, Blount has been able to hold off Jay Ajayi from taking his spot as the lead back, with his snaps staying essentially the same since the acquisition of Ajayi.
The team is also preparing for an extended stay out west to focus on football instead of enjoying Los Angeles for the second time this season.
Malcolm Jenkins has been one of the faces of social justice in the NFL for the past two seasons, especially known for raising his fist in the air during the National Anthem. But on Sunday night, he won’t be demonstrating:
“I don’t anticipate demonstrating this week simply because I felt like when I started demonstrating, my whole motivation was to draw awareness to disenfranchised people, communities of color, injustices around the country, our criminal justice system,” Jenkins said by his locker on Thursday.
“And obviously through this year and talking with the league and what they’ve kind of proposed, I feel like has presented a bigger and better platform to continue to raise that awareness and continue to fluctuate positive change. Not only with the money that they’ve put up, because I think that’s probably the least important part of the deal, but with the resources and platform that they proposed to build.”
After the whole John Boruk tweet saga on Wednesday, it was back to talking about the Flyers on the ice. The team sent forward Danick Martel back to the Phantoms, which means forward Jordan Weal will be back in the lineup, and he hopes he can start fresh:
“I think he needs to hit the restart button a little bit and have a fresh start,” coach Dave Hakstol said about Weal, who was scratched in the previous two games, “and that’s exactly what this opportunity should provide for him. As I’ve said before, his work ethic, his passion, none of that is lacking – nor has it ever been.
“It’s a little bit of a restart for him so he can get back in the lineup and just have that fresh feel and fresh start.”
The 5-foot-10, 179-pound Weal has appeared off his game after getting hit in the head by Winnipeg’s 6-5, 260-pound Dustin Byfuglien on Nov. 16. Weal missed the next game, and he was unproductive and was used sparingly in the next three contests.
Meanwhile, Phil believes Dave Hakstol should be fired, but also wants to see change in the team’s front office as well.
One game in college hoops for the Philly teams last night, as Temple breezed by South Carolina at Madison Square Garden, 76-60. Sophomores Quinton Rose and Damion Moore led the way for the Owls. Rose paced all scorers with 24 points and Moore put up 20 points and a career-high 10 rebounds for a double-double. The Owls will be back in action Sunday as they take on George Washington.
Later today, Towson takes on La Salle at 2:30 in Belfast, Northern Ireland on CBSSN. Saturday, Drexel hosts Rider, and No. 4 Villanova takes on St. Joe’s in the “Holy War” on ESPN2.
In other sports news, the Cowboys defeated the Redskins 38-14 on Thursday Night Football, which means the clinching of the NFC East will have to wait a couple more days.
The San Francisco Giants met with Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton Thursday night, with the approval from the Marlins. Could a trade be on the way?
For the first time since February, Tiger Woods graced a golf course. He shot 3 under for a first round 69 (nice) and is three shots off the lead in the Hero World Challenge. He tees off at 11:43 today alongside Henrik Stenson.
The Tennessee coaching job is still open. After NC State head coach Dave Doeren declined, the Vols reportedly met with Washington State head coach Mike Leach yesterday. However, a deal is not yet imminent.
But Texas A&M may have their guy very soon. It might be Jimbo Fisher.
In the news, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake centered in Dover shook most of the region.
Howard Eskin was nominated for Deadspin’s Worst Tweet, read by Daniel Radcliffe:
Daniel Radcliffe once again joined the #DeadspinAwards to present Worst Tweet: http://pic.twitter.com/3lAO2Szplu

The King didn’t like it:
Hey #genius. Not sure how I made this list of worst tweets of 2017, but if you are going to do this at least know how to pronounce all the names. You’re a #nitwit. And BTW was not really a Harry Potter fan. #HappyChristmas @SportsRadioWIP https://t.co/vg2arxRu6q

A mini William Penn is back on top of the new Comcast Technology Center. The Eagles are definitely winning the Super Bowl now.
Comedian Bill Burr explains his Philly rant at a show over 10 years ago.
Martin Shkreli might have to forfeit his ultra rare Wu-Tang Clan album.

OH MAN I somehow ended up unironically adoring Junya Kanashide??? He's seriously my fave p5 villain so far. Man we REALLY needed a good comic relief case after yusuke and makoto's sad back stories. So uhh yeah.. Spoilers for the third case of the game! But not really spoilers that matter or anything, unless you really wanna be surprised by the exact lunacy of Mr world's most ridiculous boss fight XD OKAY RIGHT LET ME BLABBER Like... It was SO GOOD that he's a complete outside context villain who has no connection to anything and just does stupid ordinary mafia crimes. It was great as a sort of framing device excuse to focus more on makoto's redemption arc/search for her own definition of justice. And it didn't really matter that she got her persona from fighting a guy she only just met instead of someone emotionally relevant, really her biggest enemy was her own self hatred and it symbolized her breaking out and showing her true personality for the first time! So yeah it worked perfectly that we had a stupid funnyman with no motivation except money, who gets like 5 minutes of screentime in his own plot. Makoto's was kinda the 'villain' for this whole arc anyway, it was so triumphant to finally see her join the team!! Thank you terrible money man for making this happen! Oh and BTW I seriously need to take a second to mention how makoto is literally the only character who had any sort of combat training before becoming a phantom thief. She spends ten hours filling the role of 'cliche catty student council president sitcom nemesis' and then suddenly 'oh BTW i know aikido' *runs off to punch shadows without a damn persona* And then instead of being all traumaness in her transformation sequence she just rips the mask off before the damn thing is even finished, and SHATTERS THE FLOOR TILES WITH EACH STEP! Shy nerdy sassy girl just EXPLODES into angry badass who's been hiding behind this prim and perfect mask for so long! And her persona ISNT EVEN A PERSONA?? She JUST punches shadows. Her persona is a fucking motorcycle that's like distant support friend compared to everyone else. Popemobile: "kick his ass honey I'll hold yo flower" ITS LITERALLY A POPE MOTORCYCLE IM NOT EVEN MAKING A JOKE!! so she punches fucking shadows and then drives her magic motorcycle out a window so hard they break thru the metaverse and land back in the real world sorry I CAN NOT GET OVER how much I love makoto!!!! ... Sorry that went offtopic. .. ANYWAY that's why terrible funny trash villain man works well as an excuse for her plot to happen. But I still enjoyed him a lot on his own merits! He's introduced as this honestly kinda scary and cool mob boss for like five minutes. I dunno if I would have preferred if he was actually a decent enemy like that? Like literally the ONLY time I've ever seen a fat mob boss character not played for laughs is the kingpin in spiderman. So seriously its an untapped market! BUT I do really adore his random subverted expectations terrible shadow self that is terrible in all the right ways~ The closest we get to any sort of personality description for this guy is that he's someone who pretends to act tough but is really just a selfish child who wants to live in the lap of luxury at any cost. Which might explain why his regular world design is honestly kinda inexplicably adorable?? He's got a total baby face when every other fat character in persona is drawn like frankenstein's monster. Its really rather creepy having this tiny chibi face on the evilest of all evils! And it is kind of a shame that he had a rather unique polite and soft spoken voice in his scary mob boss form, that was genuinely terrifying! They shoulda made his comedy shadow self sound even slightly similar, there's a million ways to do a funny version of that voice. Like an exaggerated nerd one! But every shadow seems to share the same voice actor for some reason?? Or else the distortion effect is so loud they all sound the same. ANYWAY His shadow self is just himself but dressed up like a banker with a fake mustache. Its hilarious cos he's still like a friggin 5ft tall 16 year old?? Also he's purple??? What??? And then he has this big fakeout demon transformation and his deadly sins form is just... The same guy with fly wings. Beelzebub is the most horrifying bonus boss in EVERY OTHER SMT GAME and this is what we got! I CANNOT BELIEVE And then (no joke) he starts doing terrible white boy rapping, and pulls a GIANT ROBOT out of nowhere to make up for his lack of boss form! The 'piggytron 2000', a giant death star piggy bank that shoots eyeball lazers. And then (NO JOKE) his ultimate move is turning it into a disco ball and COSPLAYING GANGNAM STYLE TO KILL YOU. Yes. This is a canon occurance in the persona universe. And then its just the most fun and low effort boss fight to make up for his deadly hard super long dungeon. It was over too fast! 10/10 would crush beetlejuice psy under a giant disco ball again And what is weird is that this terrible nonsense shadow is also like the most competent one they fought so far?? His dungeon is SO AWFUL and he actually spots you sneaking in and actively fights against you the whole way. His shadow self has ten times the screentime of the original! And he actually has the last laugh by not repenting at all, even though the real version of him is still gonna end up confessing his crimes either way. He just fades away with a big ol shit eating grin after revealing some important plot stuff to the heroes. Like.. Real junya was completely incompetent but his infinitely sillier shadow has apparently been operating independently of him and knows all about the phantom thieves and was making deals with some mysterious ultimate villain guy we had no clue even existed??? And now we're left with no answers to that, and shadow junya is probably still wearing that asshole grin in hell. Also his Treasure turned out to be completely worthless, its literally monopoly money with his face on it. Not even an intentional troll move or anything, that was LEGITIMATELY his single most important possession! Completely free of all character depth, right to the very end~! Oh god, everyone's FACES as they try and justify 'well its probably a metaphor about how he was a kid pretending to be badass', and then deciding the briefcase is probably worth more. Best ending to a thoroughly enjoyable brief moment of levity in a sad sad game! I salute you, gangnam Beelzebub! ... Also this mysterious villain ringleader person would probably be kicking the self if they knew the phantom thieves only found out about their plan thanks to disco monopolyman. This is why you don't make deals with comic relief, yo! XD
