headcanon that the real reason Jason came back to life was not because of Superboy Prime, but because Young Justice did a necromancy ritual on Tim for shits and giggles. They used the name “Robin” and viola: Robin comes back to life

DP x DC: Superboy Prime
You know, I'm surprised I haven't found even a good few fics/prompts that involve a certain character. Cause in a DP X DC setting he has untapped potential for interactions depending on how you wanna handle him.
Namely the one and only, Superboy Prime
Tumblr media
Like his entire deal is that he's meant to be from Earth Prime, our world (or a world extremely similar to our world where DC is fictional and such). There is so much people could do with that element of his character alone.
I've seen some prompts touch upon Danny Phantom being a fictional in DC and vice versa, but the shenanigans of Danny Phantom as a show on Earth Prime? Here's some examples of what one can do...
Superboy Prime sees Danny and the characters from that show as some type of anomaly or something that exists in DC for unknown reasons and tries to eliminate Danny.
Superboy is aware of Danny Phantom and may be a fan of the show, and further may or may be a part of the Phandom.
If you wanna play Danny being from a different universe than DC, Superboy can realize the greater scope of the multiverse beyond DC and have so many other worlds to do whatever with.
There's a future version of Superboy who was apparently one of the identities of Time Trapper so you could do something with him and Dan.
Superboy Prime did become redeemed after sacrificing himself against The Darkest Knight, maybe instead of him waking up back on Earth Prime where nobody is aware of his exploits unlike before when he was last sent home... He awakens in the Ghost Zone instead.
Alternatively you can do something with Redeemed Prime and Redeemed Dan with them bonding over trying to make up for all the destruction they've caused in their lives.
I get he doesn't have the greatest reputation and is at worst just a needlessly overpowered but somewhat shallow representation of an angry comic book fanboy, but I still like him for his concept regardless of execution and think he could be interesting to play around with in a DPxDC setting. Especially Post-Redemption as of Death Metal there is so much people can do with him and Earth Prime in general.

okay was i the only one that was completely unaware that the reason jason todd literally came back to life after the joker killed him is because superboy-prime altered reality and that just happened to be a byproduct of it???
jason dug out of his grave with his bare hands, walked 12 miles, collapsed and fell into a year-long coma, and then wandered around with amnesia until talia found him and brought him to the lazarus pit
like maybe it’s just me but i thought he was brought back to life BY the pit, yet he doesn’t even go into the pit until over a year after he un-dies
anyway just thought i’d mention it cuz it’s hella confusing (at least to me)

DPxDC idea
Danny is what Superboy-Prime became after the collapse of the previous multiverse during the Convergence.
The pre-Convergence multiverse was where Dan came from.

"That Really Happened?!" DC Comics Tournament Entry #29
Superboy-Prime Punches Time
Tumblr media
[ID: Comic panel with a large image of Superboy-Prime punching and shattering a glass-like barrier. In each shard are various images of different DC teams or events. /END ID]
What Happened?
Superboy-Prime is a version of Superboy from an alternate universe, Earth-Prime, which was destroyed during the Crisis on Infinite Earths. After this, he was sent to live out his days in an isolated pocket dimension. Wanting to return to the main universe, he physically punched through the "dimensional barrier", causing shockwaves that rippled through time, altering the past and present. Somehow. There is an entire Wikipedia page of continuity changes caused by this time-punching.

Tournament polls will be posted after all entries are up. As always you can find all posts related to the tournament using #dc-polls-trh

DC-19.one behind-the-scenes trivia fact you've learned somewhere and your thoughts on it.
The death of one Kon-El at the hands of Superboy Prime, I guess. I read somewhere that they actually wanted to kill Nightwing - but couldn't, really, because hes such a pivotal character and has ties to just about everyone(!) in the DC universe. And of course he's always been a fan favourite. But the team fighting Prime at that point was three people: Dick, Cassie Sandsmark, and Kon. And DC's track record killing off their female characters was abysmal. So it couldn't be Cassie, which is definitely fair enough. But that left Kon.
To be honest, I only started fangirling him after they had brought him back. I had no idea there even was a Kon-El or a Young Justice (or that Dick Grayson had graduated from being Robin) until around 2011. But I started reading all the old stuff, his new solo run, his old solo run, all the YJ comics, some Teen Titans stuff.
I knew he would quickly become my new favourite character (at least his pre-new52 self). And knowing he came back gave me quite the comfy perspective. I don't know how I would have reacted had I been around and reading comics at the time they did it!
To be fair, it was a typical hero's death, and something Kon probably even aspired to (as far as a teen feeling invincible can). And as hard as Kon's death hit his loved ones, it was nothing against what would have been had they killed of Dick. So I guess I've always been pretty okay with that executive decision.

What if: Legion of Super-Heroes
In his youth, Clark Kent was sent forward in time & temporarily joined the Legion of Super-Heroes until they found a way to send him back.
Afterwards, most of his memories were wiped to prevent time shenanigans.
Now, I imagine during that time, the Legion would have done their utmost to make sure Clark’s identity as the future Superman wouldn’t be discovered.
Also, you can sure as hell bet that Clark’s overprotective boyfriend Lex is gonna be plastered to his lover’s side.
Thus, Star-Child & Monitor were exemplary Legionnaires if a bit PDA. (For civilian ID, Cal Ellis & Xan Thorul.)
Now, what if an incident happened where either Star gets mind-controlled or a villain masquerading as a Superman went back in time to kill Superboy aka Kon-El.
And Monitor, in order to save his lover & future child, formed a Society of Villains.
It wasn’t until Lex Luthor and Joker had him in alley that it became clear there was yet another goal: Suicide. Whether by assassinating older Lex or getting killed didn’t matter. As long as Clark and the unborn Conner were safe.
It was only thanks to Superman that his plan failed.
He was returned to the weak but recovered Star, who had just been told of his pregnancy, unaware of both the cruel future and the near loss of his beloved.
This is basically a re-write of Infinite crisis in a way that makes sense to me.
Let me know in the comments what y’all think! 😁
