@netsurai queried:    “  who  did  you  have  to  kill  to  get  that  blade  ?  ” // i know i owe u a shitton but i couldn’t resist sending this one to u. dealer’s choice!!

instinct strikes fast. one moment ryōgi is experimentally twirling the katana and ( attempting ) to hack through a cactus, and the next he’s whirling left to point it at a stranger. a stranger who, judging by the pale skin and the heat rash rapidly creeping up his throat, isn’t from around here.
❛   It’s mine.    ❜    a lie; not even a clever one, for once. anyone who reads the inscription on the hilt would see this blade belonged to the daughter of a minor wind country noble of some importance. it’s just that he’s flustered — he hadn’t heard anyone approach. ryōgi is good at keeping watch. this man must be a shinobi. slate-sharp eyes scan the stranger, noting the sword tucked below his travel cloak. ❛   I’d tell you to go get your own, but you already have one.    ❜  maybe this isn’t a shinobi at all. ryōgi perks. maybe he’s a samurai.

FORBIDDEN LOVE.
Tumblr media
" he would burn the world but wouldn't let a spark touch her... "
characters: sasuke x hinata
genre: romance, angst, action
about: an unlikely bond forms between the kind hyuga hinata and the lone some uchiha sasuke at unexpected times, leading them to more than they could foresee: something that shouldn't happen but which does nonetheless, slowly.
PART I
THE FIRST TIME HINATA meets him outside the village after he left, it's at a motel when she's on a mission, alone.
The night finds her taking up temporary residence in a seedy little, traditional motel just off the coast of the Land of Tea. She doesn't care too much for the place, but it's late and she's exhausted, she has little money and so rents the cheapest room they have.
When she goes to check it, the owner's wife tells her that the only room left is a double room, which would mean that she'd have to share with someone else. Reluctantly, Hinata agrees and is given a key.
As she opens the door to the room, she's taken aback to see that it's already occupied…a lone figure looms there in the dark on his own. A boy, not much older than herself, sitting in a corner of the room cross-legged and with his sword at his side, silent and brooding, seeming lost in his own thoughts and unaware that she's present一 or so does Hinata think. She quietly assesses the situation and stays where she is, not wanting to draw attention to herself because it doesn't take her long to realize who he is: Uchiha Sasuke.
She has heard stories of him, how he's wanted by the Leaf's authorities and how he had become rogue in order to pursue his revenge.
She's certain he doesn't notice her yet and, hoping he would not recognize her in the lack of light inside the room and also given her almost non-existent interactions with him in the past when they were genin, the girl moves as silently as possible to the small bed in the opposite direction. She pleads to herself that he would not identify her or see her as a threat…then Hinata encourages herself to lay down and closes her eyes, trying to block out her fear.
The night goes by and still the boy doesn't move. Hinata begins to relax and eventually drifts off into a peaceful sleep that she can't fight against. She awakes early the next morning only to find the room empty. Where the boy had been sitting there's nothing but a discarded kunai, lodged in the wooden floor.
Hinata picks up the kunai and looks down: she's a tad bewildered to see that he carved something, a phrase. "What kind of person falls asleep in the same room with the enemy."
Suffice to say, she's both surprised and embarrased.
The dark haired female doesn't see him again soon but she would never forget that night at the motel and the unspoken, unexplained bond that developed between the two of them in utter silence…the plain, unadmitted comfort of staying in each other's company without a word or a sound. It had been a fragile, delicate thing一 one that had been shattered in the morning light.
. . .
The second time she meets him, she's assigned a mission to infiltrate a base of corrupt ninja in the Spring village, to steal a top secret document. She's incredibly successful so far, sneaking past guard after guard and making her way torwards her goal.
But as she nears the location of the document, Hinata gets caught off guard by a man who immediately recognizes her as a Leaf shinobi and thus she ends up forced into a fight she's not sure she could ever win…
Suddenly, the doors burst open and the boy she thought to be her enemy by association with Konoha walks in: again, Uchiha Sasuke. He quickly steps in front of her, simply clearing his way of useless burdens, though to her, it's like he's not willing to let the other guy hurt her. The guard gets taken by surprise and before she knows it or even has time to comprehend, he's fallen down to the ground, blood from Sasuke's sword splashing on the wall next to her.
Hinata stares at him in shock. She's convinced he would not spare her if she'd be an obstacle to whatever he's doing at the base coincidentally during her own mission, and yet here he is coming to her rescue. She's more conflicted when he grabs her by the arm and leads her out of the building just as it explodes on its own, never asking why she was there in the first place.
The two don't speak until they're far away from the foreign base and Sasuke finally stops to look at her. But before she can respond and say a "Thank you.", he cuts off any other communication by splitting the scroll with the document using his blade and disappearing with the other half.
That's how Hinata returns with only one half of the intended information and no solution to explain to herself why she continues to hesitate to raport him…
. . .
The third time Hinata meets him, their encounters become more and more complicated, as she witnesses him be wounded somewhere on her route back to Konoha from the Land of Water.
Sasuke feels the rain trickling down his face before he even opens his eyes, his body too weak from loss of blood. He doesn't know how he got there or how such a massive wound has appeared on him, he's too tired to recollect his last actions. But, he knows he has to get out of the storm.
At one distant point, he hears a delicate voice calling out to him. His eyes flutter open to find none other than the same Hyuga girl who's the only one naive enough to get close to somebody like him and not turn him in when this golden opportunity presents itself to her, standing before him with a look of concern and determination. Without asking any questions, she helps him up, and they begin searching for shelter.
Time passes and neither of them speak. They trudge through the forest and eventually find a cave hidden deep in the mountain range. The girl steps in first and makes sure it's safe before letting him in: he can barely hold his own weight and has to lean on her heavily as she guides him into the cave.
The Uchiha stumbles inside, dragging his broken body through the entrance to the cave untill he finally collapses down.
Hinata gasps and quickly runs to his side. Although she has limited medical knowledge and could never compare to Sakura, she's stubborn to help him. The shy girl quickly sets about gathering whatever she can find left useful amongst her essentials that she'd kept with her, hoping to treat his wounds.
"What are you doing." his voice's hoarse from pain, glaring at her as if she's joking with him. It's evident he does not like depending on others and is too prideful to show the extent of the damage.
She wrings her fingers, grasping at how to behave with him so as to not irritate him further. "I-I'm trying to help. You're injured."
"Why would you help me?"
"Why does that matter? N-No one should be suffering like this…I'm just trying to do what's right."
"…That's surprisingly noble of you, Hyuga." Sasuke nearly laughs, except his kind of insulting humour is bland, like he's merely making fun of her in that manner of his which lacks emotion.
Hinata works feverishly, tending to him the best she can. After a good interval of time, the task is complete and once that's over, she makes a fire.
Both of them sit together, eating and watching the storm outside…but Sasuke breaks out in fever due to the pain.
Hinata has some leftover herbs and a small jar of honey in her pack, which she uses with warm water to make a tea. After stirring, she adds a few drops of lavender oil and mixes again as she carries the brew back to the Uchiha. She urges the young man to drink it, promising the tea would make him feel better.
Although somewhat skeptical, he complies and she helps him sip the mixture until it's gone, however, an hour progresses on and no results…
In one of the more daring times of her life, Hinata embraces him in an effort to cool his fever.
As she holds his face in her hands while Sasuke deliriously calls out for his brother, something he would never do should he be awake and not semi-conscious, she brushes the sweat dampened hair from his forehead, finally allowing herself to acknowledge how handsome he is, for the first time; the Hyuga heiress touches his features with a kindness that only a timid but brave girl like herself could muster. His fever doesn’t relent, so she tries this method to alleviate his heat…nevermind that he would probably hurt her or push her away coldly if he were to be lucid given the fact they end up sharing the same blanket and he's so vulnerable in her hold.
. . .

jiraiya has something dangerous to check out so he left naruto in a cushy bodygard job until he retuns. it had been a nice chance from all the spying and combat training they'd been doing lately but nothing's happening and naruto's bored out of his mind. until he isn't. there's a masked intrudor on the second level sneaking around and naruto plops his own mask onto his face - annoyingly jiraiya hadn't let him use a henge this time he was supposed to train on disguised without chakra - and is out of his bed and at the window they endered through within seconds. guarding the client would probably be smarter than stalking the intruder but naruto's bored and his shadow clone will tell him if he's needed anyways. the intruder is clad in complete black and their face and hair completely obscured. they're maybe of naruto's height and dangerously lightfooted. they dance through the traps without setting them off and their steps make no sound. had naruto not seen the shadow of the open window he wouldn't have noticed them. there's a sword strapped around the intruder's waist and while naruto's armed it's only a couple of kunai and some ninja wire. in a fight he'd be outmatched. especially since he isn't supposed to reveal his identity. slowly, the intruder winds their way deeper into the complex until they come to some sealed room. the door is carelessly, with a slash of the sword, cut apart and they step through. all seals destroyed before they can activate. it's a beautiful desplay of restrained violence and precision. naruto is in awe. as the intruder searches the room naruto ponders what he should do. normally he would just barge in and stop the thief but he isn't really naruto right now, he's a disguise. and while preventing thiefery isn't technically part of his contract preventing harm to the client is and one could argue either case. naruto decides to do the less boring option that bears the less likelyhood of him getting yelled at by the client in the morning and makes himself known. the intruder startles so bad he throws the scrolls he's holding in the air, then in a practiced motion kicks them at naruto. the paper scolls flutter hamlessly, if not a bit torn up, to the ground but the wooden ones embedd themselves into the wall. the intruder, meanwhile, seems to have found what he's looking for because there's something in his hand as he goes for naruto's throat. his kunai stops the other's blade but he's at a huge disadvantage in range. he snaps his other arm foward and the ninja wire, rasor sharp and whip strong, tears into his opponent's side revealing pale skin and a line of blood. taking a step back, then summersaulting themselves over naruto's head, the intruder is almost to fast to follow. gone are the quiet steps but they're as fast and agile as before. naruto grabs one of the katana the guards summoned by the noise carry and continues his persuit until they're outside. the stolen scroll has vanished within the intruder's clothing and both their hands are free as they turn to face naruto again. they don't plan to be followed and if naruto wants the scroll back he needs to take it by force after beating them. the situation is painfully familiar. naruto doesn't plan to loose. a grin splits his face and at once they spring towards eachother. only, instead of clashing with him like sasuke does in his memories the intruder doges to the side and wire he had stolen is wrapped around naruto's legs. naruto stares into the sky, pondering just living in the dirt from now on, while the intruder is surely long gone. "bastard!" he yells out into nothingness, startling the guard that had finally made their way outside.

Mitsuhide x OC; Hideyoshi x MC (Mai)
All Chapters Archived on Ao3
Logline - With Mai, Hideyoshi, and Aki missing, Mitsuhide and Katsuko reluctantly team up. Disguised as a merchant and his concubine, can they outsmart the man known as the God of Deceit?
CW: Battlefield scene
[Starting below the cut because of the battlefield scene]
The noise and the haze and the smell of the battlefield overwhelmed my senses. Instinctively, I wanted to be nowhere near the body, even if moving away from it… from him… that was once a person, put me in the line of the fire from the archers. Not even bothering to stifle my screams – no one would be able to hear my voice above the cacophony anyway – I scrambled away from the corpse, hoping that would give me enough perspective to figure out what to do next. It wasn’t as if I could have battled my way out of this, even if the Kanamori vassals had let me keep my sword.
All I could do was run a few staggering steps, then throw myself onto the ground again as a hail of arrows whizzed overhead. They hadn’t been close enough to harm me, but diving out of the way had been an automatic response.
Get out, get out, get out.
I half crawled, half-rolled behind a line of adult-sized wooden arrow shields, with my dark fur cloak pulled over my head for extra protection.
For the moment, I would be temporarily safe, at least until either army moved.
Should I try to use the device that had sent me here? I examined the thing closely, but there was nothing that hinted on how it worked. No. Not a good idea to tempt fate. Until I could learn how to operate it, I was better off not messing with it. For all I knew, the thing would send me to a time with dinosaurs. Instead, I carefully put the strange device in my kimono, securing it with my sash.
More arrows whizzed overhead, these much close than the first wave. This shelter was about to become far less safe. Cautiously, I peeked out. There was a grove of trees about... I don’t know… through the haze it was hard to judge… fifty? A hundred meters away?
If I was going to get out of here alive, it would be with my feet, and I would need to have enough luck that neither side clocked me as an enemy and engaged me in their fight. My green kimono wouldn’t place me with either army - there were red and black clad warriors on one side and blue, black and whi- I finally recognized those were Uesugi battle flags carried by the opposing force.
More rotten luck. The only Uesugi allies I knew were Sasuke, who was in the future now, and Yoshimoto, who was probably staring down at the untrampled snow below the castle walls of Genba. There was no one I could surrender to and declare myself to be on their side.
Having confirmed that I was going to have to run for it, I tried to make my feet move. But this wasn’t like a cave or a box where the danger was in my head. It was everywhere.
In fact, I could only thank a little pocket of dead bodies for my continued survival. Everyone around me was dead, and the dead don’t—
Someone groaned-
Rise?
Zombies. It wanted only that.
No, don’t be stupid. Just because time travel was possible didn’t mean that zombies were too. Clearly I was not the only person hiding behind the dead.
Where was the source of the noise?
The groan came again… there… from somewhere to my left.
A man was slumped to the ground, his hand clutching a bleeding shoulder. How badly was he injured? No identifiable uniform on him. He might be a peasant or farmer who had waited too late to flee. An unlike an injured warrior, whose fellow samurai would come looking for him, a lost peasant would be doomed to lie here until he either died on his own, or was murdered by scavengers.
I couldn’t abandon a civilian.
I took one last regretful look at my path to the trees before crawling over to help him up. "Sir, how badly are you- Aki?!"
Aki.
I had found my father after all.
Iekane had indeed been the key. “Aki!” At the last moment, I recalled his injury and stopped myself from throwing my arms around his neck.
At the sound of my voice, Aki turned his face to mine. He squinted as if I were a mirage. "Katsu. I told you to stay in the tree." His eyes fluttered, and I hurried to brace myself under his shoulder … the uninjured one. Even that movement made him groan in pain.
Automatically I pulled aside his clothing to see how bad the wound was. Already, threads of dirty cloth were sticking to –
A bullet wound?
I hadn’t heard any gunfire. But if at least one of the armies out here was using muskets, then we needed more cover than the flimsy wooden barrier I had just abandoned.
In that moment, it started to rain.
Oh of course. Rain. Sure. Why not.
“My lord! Oh, my lord!” There was an agonized yell somewhere behind us. “Please my lord, you must wake up!” I glanced over my shoulder to see a column of Uesugi warriors, who had formed a protective circle around a fallen man.
“Uesugi fools! Prepare yourselves!” I ducked down, pulling Aki with me, but the red and black clad warrior went charging past us without a glance. His target was the Uesugi.
“The enemy is here! You will not succeed in killing our lord!” And then with a clang and a thud, he too joined the pile of bodies on the dirt.
The battle smoke was growing thicker, and then a man – a man dressed in modern clothing - staggered out of the battle smoke, looking disoriented and scared. Had Iekane’s device pulled someone else into the Sengoku?
He stared at the newly dead warrior. “He’s… dead?”
I’d been so distracted by the sight of lab coat and pants, that I recognized the voice before his face. That’s …
Sasuke.
Seeming to be in shock, Sasuke turned to the cluster of Uesugi warriors. Had he come back from his trek to modern Japan to discover his friends at war?
One of the Uesugi was frantically shaking a collapsed man. “He lurched over then he just… fell. He wasn’t wounded - He’s not breathing!”
Sasuke stepped up to the group, and said something to them that I was too far away to hear.
But it didn’t matter. I knew where we were. Or unfortunately, when we were.
“The wormholes don’t seem to care what sort of chaos they anchor to. Mai ended up in Honno-ji during the fire. I arrived right in the middle of a battle in 1578. In the middle of a battlefield. And, er, immediately created a temporal paradox by giving CPR to Kenshin.”
Fifteen seventy eight.
Iekane’s device had sent me back in time, not forward. That wasn't battlefield smoke that Sasuke had just walked through. It was the wormhole. The wormhole which was just about to dissipate. "Aki! Can you run? At all?"
He looked at me, his face a map of pain. "Katsu? I told you to stay in the tree."
Enough with the tree! I pointed to the wormhole. "We need to leave.”
He looked, then nodded, and said through gritted teeth. "Which one is it?"
Does it matter? "Honno-ji, maybe?" That’s the one Sasuke used. "Or would you rather take your chances on the battlefield?"
In the cluster of Uesugi, Sasuke was performing mouth to mouth on the fallen man - Kenshin. This was his past, and I couldn’t interfere. Who knows what that would do to the already snarled timeline? Without waiting for Aki’s reply, I yanked him to his feet, hoping the momentum would propel him into action.
He took a few stumbling steps forward, then the adrenaline kicked in, and we ran toward the wormhole, pushing our way into the writhing grey. It was unpleasant, but the air was no longer tainted by the smell of death. For the second time that day, I felt that fog slide though me, but in an instant, it dissolved again, leaving us in a swirl of blinding white.
This is new.
Cold. Wet.
A snowstorm.
Had I gotten Aki to Genba?
I looked around, but there was no sight of the castle wall, or that cloying forest of twisted trees.
Seven years ago, the wormhole had dumped Toshiie and me into a blizzard in the Togakushi mountain range. It had been Aki who had rescued me. Had I come full circle? Had I gone back in time again… was it now 1575? Was this my past?
With two trips through a wormhole in less than two hours, it was possible I was losing my mind. Ponderable for Sasuke, if I ever see him again, does frequent wormhole travel cause psychosis?
Next to me, Aki groaned, a reminder that I had a much bigger physical problem to deal with.
Right. Blizzard now, nervous breakdown later.
Thank God I hadn’t taken off the warm cloak that Yoshimoto had given me. But Aki wasn’t outfitted as warmly. Was he shivering? He half stood, half crouched, his hand still on his shoulder wound. "Aki?" He didn’t look up. "Dad?"
He stilled, turned to face me, his expression one of regret. "I'm sorry you found out that way – I wanted to tell you before."
In spite of my intention to wait until we weren’t in danger of being flash frozen, I couldn’t stop my snarky response. Too much exposure to Mitsuhide’s banter. "Yeah. I mean, if you had time to write a letter, then why not just-"
"Letter?" He squinted at me in confusion. There was a long pause, where, knowing Aki as well as I did, I knew he was making some kind of calculation in his head. "Read my letter you did."
"Sounding more like Yoda than Anakin, you are." The joking was a natural response, but I was relieved that he seemed to be lucid. “Of course I read your letter – what did you think I was talking about?”
Rather than answer me, he used my shoulder as leverage and pushed himself to his feet. For a moment, he only gazed at the horizon.
"When were you shot?" I paused, realizing that 'when' wasn't useful here. “I mean how long ago?"
"Several hours before you arrived." He rubbed his fingers together. I offered him my fur cloak, thinking at least we could trade off but he shook his head, then groaned slightly. "I'm too big." With a grimace carefully poked at his wound. "Finally clotted."
Or froze, more likely. The wind punctuated my thought by slingshotting ice crystals right at me. We needed to find shelter and soon. I spun around, looking for some kind of environmental context as to where we were. Clearly not Kyoto, as no temple was in sight. The ground was sloping, and I could just see a line of cedar trees. There were cedar trees in the modern -"Togakushi Shrine?" And yet that didn’t feel correct. It had been seven years sure I've seen modern Japan, but the Togakushi range was Aki’s territory and I had been through there dozens of times in my Sengoku life.
Aki looked around. “No, but we’re not far from Kawaguchi Shine, I believe."
"Kofu?!" We were in Kofu? Not quite taking his word for it, I oriented myself and spun to look what would be uphill. And while I couldn't see much of it in this weather, Aki was correct. We were near the base of Mount Fuji. Had we come through a third wormhole? Or no, maybe they just manifested where they pleased, with no care where they dumped their passengers.
At the moment, did it really matter which mountain we were on? Contemplating the nature of wormholes in the middle of a blizzard was a one way ticket to extinction. Maybe that was what had happened to the dinosaurs.
Shelter was the first order of business. "There's a village near the shrine, yes?"
He was quiet a very long moment then said, "There is in modern Japan. I am very much afraid we're still in the Sengoku."
"How can you tell?" We were getting close to whiteout conditions.
"When you've travel through as many times as I have, it becomes easier." There was something about the statement that felt sad, and plaintive, or maybe he was just in pain, so I didn’t question him, I simply ducked under his shoulder again and started moving.
Even knowing there was no village near the shrine, my instinct was to go downhill, not up. Maybe we'd at least find a farmer eventually. Even in the warm clothes and cloak I had on, I was beginning to feel the chill. Keeping moving was better. Aki, with his blood loss and unseasonal clothing, had to be even colder. I put my arm around him, and nudged him onward. “Come on, Old Man.”
"You are highly lacking in filial piety," he muttered.
"Keep moving; I want a father, not a Popsicle." I pulled him along another step, as he acknowledged my pun with a bark of laughter.
We were moving, at least... but if this storm didn’t let up, I doubted we could continue at this pace.
"Found you in a blizzard," he said a little while later. He'd been quiet for a bit, so I was relieved he was still lucid.
"Did you know I would be there? Did you pull us back in time?" No response. Whether he was back to conserving energy, or just refusing to answer, I didn’t know. Instead, I concentrated on moving forward, face down from the wind, as pellets of icy snow hit my face.
Sho would be pissed that I just ruined a month of skin treatment. Thinking of her led to thoughts of Mitsuhide. What had he thought when he saw me vanish over the side of the castle? Did he regret letting me go, not once but twice? No, I could not think that way. Had he not allowed me to leave, I would not have found. Aki. No matter what happened, I at least had this. I put my arm around my father's waist and helped him press forward.
Though it was less effort to go downhill, the trek was hazardous, as the snow hid and slicked over all manner of stones and debris. Even though were were proceeding with caution, Aki slipped on something, stumbled, then fell to his knees.
He stayed there for a moment, clothes soaking up the snow, head bowed, breath rapid.
“Come on.” I tugged on the non-injured arm.
He scowled at me. "You know this would better for you... if you left me."
"Like you left her?" Whoops. Did not mean for that to come out.
Like I left Mitsuhide?
I slapped that nasty voice away. No. That was different. Mitsuhide hadn’t needed me. Not the way Mayumi had needed my father. When I left him, I didn’t leave something broken behind me.
"Katsu, I need you to leave me here. You have to find and protect Hiko. And make sure the others..." he trailed off, squinted at me. "I don’t know which one you are."
Shit. Was he delirious? "I'm Katsu. Katsuko. You know the only one who’s a girl." At the very least he ought to be able to tell the difference between me and Takauji. My ears didn’t stick out. "And Hiko is fine. Yoshimoto sent him to Kasugayama with an escort of Takeda mitsumono."
"That's not what I-." He coughed, but at least this time he climbed to his feet. He leaned on my shoulder. "Lay on MacDuff."
"I thought it was lead on, MacDuff?"
“It is not. Apparently I neglected your Shakespearean education.”
“Well, it would have been anachronistic anyway.” I think.
Step, Step, Step. It was almost a march.
Step.
Step.
Step.
I felt like I was taking on more of Aki's weight with every passing moment. How much ground had we covered?
Time blurred into whiteness that was only interrupted by the pain of the ice when the wind struck at a certain angle.
I had only the knowledge that we were still going downhill as confirmation that we were still heading toward some form of civilization, although in this weather, we could have passed within a meter of a house or shrine and not seen it.
It was becoming harder to feel my feet under me.
Could be worse. Could be dinosaurs.
As I thought that, something dark and shaggy burst out of one wall of white barking wildly.
Not a dinosaur.
Wolf.
I'm definitely going to stop thinking how things could be worse.
With Aki draped over me, I couldn’t reach the one dagger Iekane’s vassals hadn’t taken from me. "Nice wolf. Just a big shaggy cousin of a dog." I had no actual hope that speaking in a soothing tone would help. I did hope that it wasn’t hungry. Or territorial. Or-
Slurp!
I certainly had not expected that the wolf would jump on me and lick my face and knock us all over. "Good wolf." I hesitantly patted it. Aki was semi-conscious at this point. The wolf sniffed the air, yipped three times then howled. The sound split the atmosphere, cutting sharply through the snow.
Maybe the licking was his way of tenderizing my skin for a big old group dinner.
I winced as the wolf howled again.
Then, faintly, I heard someone yell, "Muramasa!"
The wolf yipped in response, then a large shape emerged before us. A man on a horse. “Muramasa stop that." He turned to address us. “I'm sorry. He's friendly, but he doesn’t normally bother strange-“ He broke off with a sharp exclamation. “Katsuko? What the hell are you doing out here?"
Who are you?

IKESEN HEADCANON
🌸Performer MC🌸
How will the warlords (mitsuhide, masamune, kenshin) react when MC show off her skill? I thought about this when I was playing mitsuhide route. I start to imagine how he would react if MC volunteer as a stage performer during their mission together. I only write this to get this headcanon out of my head and done.
Mitsuhide
-Geisha kitsune dance + chinese classical fan dance
-When you saw mitsuhide's performance you were inspired to perform a mix of traditional geisha kitsune dance and chinese classical dance.
-You grabbed his kitsune mask and a fan.
-Because his curiousity beat his worries, he just let you take the stage after him.
-Your dance was graceful and smooth, but then your movements gradually turned more bold and energetic.
-Mitsuhide never expected his pupil and fake wife (soon-to-be real wife) hide such a lovely talent as a secret.
-"my my, it seems my little mouse never cease to surprise me."
-"is that a blush I see on your face, mitsuhide😯?" "it's a make up😊" "...it won't hurt to be honest once in a while, you know?"😒
-He may always tease you, saying some intimate things, but he will never admit it when he was genuinely flustered or embarrassed or feeling any special feelings for you. At least not yet. Not in this stage.
-However if you show him a modern costume (a more revealing and skimpy clothes) you created and told him you plan to wear it for the next performance, his smile will falter for a moment before it turned into a strained creepy smile.
-"little mouse, I know you are daring, but I'm afraid you have stepped into a dangerous zone. Are you trying to invite more dangerous men? Am I not enough?" *slapped*. You slapped him for creeping you out and that put some sense back into him.
-But he was seriously against it. If you keep being persistent he still has a few cards up his sleeves.
-He will join into the stage as if it was part of performance. Closing in on you and whisked you into his arms while leaving the stage in the same manner so everyone would thought it was part of the performance.
-Mitsuhide😏 You😳.
Masamune
-Cossack traditional swordsmanship
-It was by accident when he found out your special talent.
-You were bored. You had a lot of free time but no one gave you anything to do. So what did you do? While mama hen yoshi wasn't watching, you went to the armed supplies storage. There you grab two swords and move to more spacious space.
-Masamune was tailing you ever since he noticed you were heading toward the weapons store room. He decided to watch you for a while more from the shadow.
-After a little warming up you began to twirl both swords in each of of your hand proficiently like a sword master. Your movements were swift and elegant at the same time. After having enough you put the swords down and then heard a clapping sound from behind you.
-*clapping* "wooh nice job, lass! I never expect a kitten like you turned out to be a tigress😏 How about this? I'll keep this a secret from hideyoshi and in return you spend some more time with me."
-From that day on, unbeknownst to anyone, Azuchi has one more tiger proficient in dual sword wielding as ally.
Kenshin
-Chinese traditional sword dance
-His swordsmanship was known as graceful but deadly.
-So as a dancer you were ecstatic to see him in action (he was beating some rounin that disturb his drinking time lol😂)
-You decided to approach him first. However the way you talk, the way your eye glimmer and untainted of the cruel world, and that weird passion emanated from you remind him of sasuke.
-Kenshin: "sasuke, is she your sibling?😑" Sasuke:"no, kenshin-sama. We just came from the same hometown."
-He may be cold and indifferent at first, but he is weak against persistent people. Especially if that person also is also soft and cute just like a bunny or like you.
-One day you showed him your sword dance to prove him that not all women are weak.
-Your graceful yet powerful movements managed to struck him in awe.
-Kenshin: "hm not bad." You: "✨expectant look✨" Kenshin:"....what is it that you want now? Just say it." You: "hehe actually the first moment I saw you I was wondering if you could teach me swordsmanship. I want to improvise my sword dance." Sasuke: "do you even know what you are signing up?😐" You: "I know and I'm ready for anything😄✨" Kenshin: *got struck by her radiance* "fine. But I won't go easy on you just because you are a woman😑"
-The next day, Sasuke took a peek from the ceiling to watch how their practice go. Sasuke: "that's unfair of him, but I'm glad he goes easy on her-ah" *stab* a sword pierce the ceiling. Almost striking sasuke's face.
-Kenshin: "and that's how you fling your sword in the air while also taking the enemy down."

Heart of the Warrior Chapter 2: Inoshishi
Fandom: Cybird Ikemen Sengoku
Previous Chapter|Next Chapter
CW: Blood, cursing
Yukimura Sanada x Male!OC
Thai tightened the strap on his handbag, the tired man now dressed in a dull red kimono and a grey hakama. He fixed his collar before running his hand through his dark brown hair. His dark hazelnut eyes scanned his surroundings as he walked with slightly shaky knees through camp. He tried avoiding any and all eye contact with the dozens of samurai and ashigaru running around him.
It had been a few days since he got here, and now the word was it was time to head back to Echigo. Luckily, with the aid of his situational friend, Sasuke Sarutobi, his wounds were quickly bandaged and healed before Thai slept for two days. Now awake, he quickly headed towards where Sasuke asked him to meet, a large rectangular formation of curtains held up by poles resembling the walls of a building, a four-diamond emblem forming a narrow diamond on each curtain.
Thai stopped himself before approaching the guards right outside, turning around to make sure he looked presentable. From the size of the formation of the curtains, he could tell it wasn't just Sasuke he was going to meet with. Again, he hesitated, taking in a deep breath. His gut welled up inside of him, yet he urged his feet to turn him around and move him toward the guards. Quickly remembering he was dealing with actual samurai, he bowed to the guards, who opened one of the curtains to let him inside. Thai muttered an "arigatou" before stepping inside.
Immediately he recognized three people inside: the samurai he saved, Yukimura Sanada, his situational friend, Sasuke Sarutobi, and the gigante, Lord Shingen. From what Sasuke told him, apparently, Shingen Takeda was a samurai daimyo who was supposed to have died long before but was saved when Sasuke came to the Sengoku. From his stern, yet admittedly handsome look, Thai already presumed that Shingen was someone who commanded respect from his men and intimidation from his enemies. The large sword beside him that was nearly as tall as Thai further painted Shingen as someone to not anger.
Other than those three, there were a few guards stationed around the curtain walls, a few samurai clad in red armor behind both Yukimura and Shingen. Both Yukimura and Shingen, as well as Sasuke, looked over a table set up in the center of the makeshift room that held a large map. From the collective looks on their faces, Thai could tell that they weren't planning more than just falling back to Echigo.
Sasuke looked up, seeing Thai reluctantly approaching the three. He didn't smile, his stoic expression like a robot, but still said, "Thai-san. I'm glad to see you're doing well." All eyes turned to Thai, making him nearly stumble mid-step.
"Uh...yeah. So far, so good," Thai tiredly said. "Er, I think I came at a bad time, I'll come back."
"No worries," Sasuke said, approaching Thai. "We were just ending our discussion."
As Sasuke said the prior statement, the samurai behind Yukimura and Shingen started to break down the camp, several others aiding them. Thai scratched the back of his head, leaning in towards Sasuke. "So," Thai whispered. "What's the plan here?"
Sasuke nodded. "I introduced you as a foreigner who was accepted from the 'village I came from.' When I left, you decided to come to look for me."
Thai stood back up straight. "A...foreigner....who lives in a made-up village where you belonged to...sounds a little too on-the-nose. Has that ever happened before?"
"There are dealings with Portuguese Nanban traders, so anything may be possible," Sasuke explained. "But, considering your lack of Japanese, it was the best I could think of. I apologize."
"Nah," Thai waved off. "I-it's fine. I certainly ain't making things easy for you."
"Oi, Sasuke-kun," Yukimura called out, walking towards him. The two started to engage in conversation, Thai once again left out. He took a slight step back, waiting for someone to say something to him. Hopefully, if it was Yukimura, he would say something that Thai would understand, or Sasuke would jump in and translate. Finally, Yuki looked at Thai. "Kyō wa genkidesu,"Yukimura said.
"He said 'You look well,'"Sasuke translated.
"Y-yeah, I got that," Thai cheekily smirked. "I ain't that lost."
"Anata ga kegawosurudarou to watashi wa kakushin shite ita. Anata wa inoshishi no yō ni sorera subete o tatakatta," Yukimura continued to say, Thai's agape mouth and raising eyebrow evidence that he didn't understand.
"Um, he said that he was convinced you would have gotten hurt. You fought like...wild?" Sasuke said, the tone of his voice shifting upon saying the last word.
"Was that last part a question?" Thai asked suspiciously to Sasuke's last statement.
"Inoshishi," Yukimura said aloud. "Anata wa kare ni aubekidatta, Sasuke-kun. Kare wa kurutta inoshishi no yō ni jūden shite tatakatte ita."
Sasuke stayed silent, Thai chewing his lip. "Okay, so, I keep hearing him say, 'Inoshishi,'" Thai said to Sasuke. "What's that mean?"
Through Sasuke's visibly stoic expression, Thai could still sense he didn't want to say anything, yet, he explained, "It means 'wild boar.' He says you're like a wild boar."
"This man just called me a 'wild boar?'" Thai scoffed, shaking his head. However, he gave a self-nod of validity. "I guess that's one way of puttin' it. Don't really know how to respond to something like that, but I'll let it slide...I guess."
"Yori ōku no kunren to kiritsu de, inoshishide wanaku senshi no yō ni yori tatakau koto ga dekimasu,"Yukimura said. "Anata no shimei wa Sasuke o mitsukeru kotodeshita yo ne? Sate, kare wa watashitachi no tame ni hataraite irunode, onaji koto o shite mimasen ka?"
Even Thai knew from a few words and phrases alone that this was the hard sell. Sasuke's expression confirmed this. "Thai, he's saying that with more training, you can become a better warrior, but really he's asking for you to work for Lord Shingen."
"I figured....like you are?" Thai asked.
"Technically, I am a part of Lord Kenshin's Nokizaru," Sasuke said. "Probably, since your alias is that of a Nanban who was from the same village I was, this is Lord Shingen's attempt to hire someone worthy to train as one of his own ninja."
"And, Yukimura...sama, thinks 'I'm worthy,'" Thai asked, tapping his own sternum lightly with his fingers. "I...I thought I was supposed to, like, lay low in like a town or something?"
"That may have been the case, but since he saw you fight off seven samurai while essentially unarmed, he thinks you'll become a great warrior under his banner," Sasuke said.
     "Great..."
Thai chewed the bottom of his lip, putting his hands on his hip as he looked around. As a Martial Artist himself, he was accustomed to being beaten up, fighting, and walking out of a street corner or ring with black eyes and bloodied noses. However, this was actual war and sabotage he was being coerced to accept. In war, there was no "tap out"—only death or severe dismemberment. During that fateful night, Thai was on nothing more than pure adrenaline and instinct going into that fight, but he didn't know that that would be the decision-maker for the person he saved.
"Dammit, I wish I was back in my 9-8," Thai muttered under his breath. Sasuke could tell Thai was visibly shaken, the latter pondering hard on what to say next. However, it was Yukimura who stepped over and placed a hand on Thai's shoulder.
Thai's eyes shot up to meet Yukimura's, the samurai smiling. "Watashi wa anata no nōryoku o shinjite imasu. Buki nashide wa dare mo sono yōna tatakai o suru koto wa dekimasen."
Thai gazed at Yukimura, feeling the warmth of his hand on his shoulder. He could barely look at him in the eyes, something about his soft smile easing the still-bewildered mandingueiro. He understood part of what he said, mainly about 'no one fighting like that unarmed.'
"He has faith in your abilities," Sasuke said.
"He does, huh?" Thai lightly smiled. "....okay." Thai forced himself to look Yukimura in the eyes, thinking it was either intimidation or humility that kept him from making eye contact. Knowing from what little he knew about samurai, he figured that this was a big deal for Thai to be suddenly asked to join a samurai clan. As much as he was scared, he figured it would be better to accept the offer, rather than embarrass himself any further. "Anou....," Thai said to Yukimura, trying to formulate the words in his head. "Boku wa...anata no tame ni hatarakimasuga...(anou)....aru jōken no shita de."
Yukimura's eyebrow raised, his hand leaving Thai's shoulder. Sasuke was also interested in hearing Thai's conditions for working for Yukimura, seeing as how he thought he would have to convince Thai more to become a warrior under Shingen.      Thai pointed at Sasuke. "Boku wa kare ni nihongo no tetsudai o shite hoshī," Thai said to Yukimura. "Dōzo yoroshi ko."
     Yukimura scoffed. "Mochiron."
"Great," Thai said. Yukimura excused himself, going over to Shingen as Thai and Sasuke moved closer to each other. "Did that sound...right?" Thai asked Sasuke, the latter nodding.
"I understood, albeit you were maybe a little too formal, but that's good," Sasuke said. "I didn't think you would accept the offer so easily. You looked ready to run."
Thai chuckled under his breath. "Well...I figured if you can do it, then why can't I? What did you train before all this?"
"Oh, I guess my only martial arts experience comes from trying to imitate moves I had seen on tv," Sasuke said. "It wasn't only until two years ago I started to train."
Thai nodded. "Even better! And, you look all right, so maybe I can leave this time unscathed. Hopefully..."
Sasuke started to lead Thai outside of the small curtained room, the guards opening the curtain flaps for them. "May I ask what you have trained in?"Sasuke asked. "Obviously you must have trained heavily in military-style arts if you could take out seven armed samurai."
Thai scoffed. "Uh...well actually I was more of a...rabble-rouser, I guess. Sou Malandro," he snickered as the two headed towards a tent. "Mainly I trained in Capoeira, but other times I trained in Eskrima and Panantukan. When I was young, I got into so many fistfights out of nothing but a few insults, so I kept training so no one would fuck with me."
     "Interesting," Sasuke noted. "How long?"
"Sixteen years. But, when I moved to Japan, I didn't have time for any of that," Thai said. "I guess it felt a little validating knowing I could still put up a fight."
"Then, I could see how Yuki believes that you can become a great warrior, although, I have to warn you that what you will be facing is far more different than what you probably faced," Sasuke explained.
"I could tell. Can't just go 'Lateef Crowder' on 'em all," Thai said. "God....what did I just accept?"
"Don't worry," Sasuke said. "Most ninja operations are strictly no-contact. Fighting should be the last thing one would have to do."
"If only..."Thai muttered. "....I won't have to kill anyone, right?"
"I avoid it," Sasuke explained. "Much to the disappointment of—"
     "SASUKE-SAN!!!"
A booming voice froze the camp, Sasuke's eyes widening as a gasp escaped his throat. The two turned around, seeing a blonde-haired man with heterochromatic eyes donned in armor with light blue, gold, white and black accents, white fur draped over his left shoulder over a blue garment. In his hand was a razor-sharp katana that shone in the sunlight, a murderous gleam in his eye. A sense of dread filled the two as they just stared as the man kept approaching them.
"Oh no...."Sasuke said. "(Akuma ni tsuite hanasu...)"
"W-w-who the hell is that?"Thai frantically coughed.
"Sasuke-san..." the mystery man said as he approached them with deft steps. "Shine...."
Sasuke pushed Thai away, the first thing Thai seeing as he fell was the blade of the katana where he and Sasuke were just at. Ignoring the felled Thai, the man quickly lunged at Sasuke with his katana, Sasuke avoiding every swipe and slash with both the grace of a dancer and the franticness of a crazed lunatic.
Thai jumped up to his feet, his hands shooting up to the side of his scalp. "Ah crap! He's gonna kill 'im!" his mind screamed at him.
Thai, in order to save his only chance at surviving the Sengoku, quickly ran towards the two as the man chased Sasuke around the camp. This man was faster with his sword than the men he had fought earlier, Thai wondering "what in the hell he was thinking running at the crazed swordsman?"
Nearly out of breath, he finally caught up with them, just as the swordsman cornered Sasuke against a few wooden shields, the ninja splayed against them. Thai bolted towards the swordsman, throwing caution to the wind. He quickly shot his foot towards the back of the swordsman's knee, kicking his knee in and directing the swordsman's murderous attention back towards Thai. Thai hopped back, barely evading a quick slash to his neck before spinning around to his right, his heel barely missing the side of the swordsman's head. Wasting no time as his heel landed on the ground, he quickly rolled away, ducking under another slash before hopping into a quick cartwheel and evading two more cuts.
As Thai got up, he pivoted to his left, evading the tip of the sword as the swordsman thrust it at his head. Thai ducked, swinging his left leg around that of the swordsman, using his other leg to quickly take down the swordsman with a scissor-kick tesoura. However, as they fell, the swordsman slashed at Thai again, Thai ducking under it in a low bridge before rolling away again, the swordsman gracefully getting back onto his feet.
Thai readied himself again as the swordsman raised his katana above his head, getting into a traditional stance as Thai tried maneuvering around him. The two were about to fight until they both heard Shingen calling out.
"Kenshin-sama!" Shingen called out. "Yamete!" Behind him were both Yukimura and another white-haired samurai Thai hadn't seen before.
The swordsman growled, lowering his sword. Thai, still keeping his guard, slowly lowered his hands, keeping his left hand plastered on his chest. Both Sasuke and Yukimura ran toward Thai, Thai catching his breath.
"Thai-san! Daijōbudesu ka?"Yukimura asked.      "Uh..." Thai mumbled, "Da-Daijōbu. Arigatou." Thai turned to Sasuke. "What just happened?" Thai asked Sasuke.
The three looked towards the other three, who were seemingly arguing. "That," Sasuke said. "Is my current Master, Lord Kenshin."
"Your Lord?" Thai asked. "Are you sure? 'Cuz he just tried to murder you."
Sasuke sighed. "I call it a... 'reflex test.'"
"Sono otoko wa riyū mo naku tatakau no ga sukida,"Yukimura angrily said. "Kare ni kiwotsukero, Thai-san."
"Um...he said that 'Lord Kenshin likes to personally see if the samurai around him are skilled enough to react quickly to ambushes,'" Sasuke said. "He says to 'watch out for him.'"
Thai nodded. "I think he said 'he just likes to fight for no reason,'" Thai said.
     "Yeah...that, too."

i feel like posting something, so here's one of those "everyone is impressed with sakura!!" scenes but it's from a wild AU
the AU is wild in that it's an AU of another AU. the "main" AU is one i've posted snippets of before (here and here), where Sakura is Kakashi's apprentice. The main gist is that Kizashi dies saving Kakashi's life and asks him on his death bed to watch out for Sakura, and things spiral out of control.
This is from an AU of that AU where Kakashi and Sakura transmigrate into a NEW AU where Minato lives. Yes yes, shut the fuck up, it was summer 2020 when I started this and my life was weird. The main points of this is AU are: Minato survived but Kushina didn't. The Uchiha coup didn't happen but ""someone"" massacred everyone but Itachi and Sasuke. Itachi is.... team 7's sensei 0:)
This scene is from a team lunch at the Namikaze house.
***
“Are you seriously talking about different types of soap?” Naruto asks, sounding offended.
“What else would we talk about?” Minato asks, bemused.
“Something cool,” Naruto replies. “What’s the point of you having cool ANBU guys over if you just talk about soap?”
The other genin seem similarly unimpressed with the conversation.
“Maa, we can talk about something cool,” Kakashi tells him. “For example, I recently bought a cast-iron pan.”
The genin quickly excuse themselves off the back porch and into the yard. They start a game disguised as training, where Sakura and Naruto test Sasuke’s new sharingan with various ninjutsu, trying to get a hit in. It’s mostly Naruto trying to overwhelm Sasuke with clones while Sakura hangs back, occasionally substituting out with a clone to try and take a jab at Sasuke.
Kakashi watches them out of the corner of his eye while Itachi describes some sort of misadventure with the mission office. That’s a pretty good formation for Sakura, Kakashi thinks, especially if he figures out a good finishing jutsu for her…
“Who did you say you talked to?” Minato asks, frowning. “New teams should be getting priority for D-ranks.”
“Tsk, tsk, Sensei,” Kakashi interrupts. “You said no work talk.”
Minato sighs, a grin tugging at his lips. “You’re right. I’m getting out the sake.”
“I don’t…” Itachi starts, but a drink is poured for him nonetheless. Naruto shrieks in dismay as his real body narrowly avoids being set on fire by Sasuke. Minato pauses for just a fraction of a second, glancing over at his child.
Itachi stares in dismay at his cup of sake while they chat. Kakashi is reminded almost painfully of his time on Team 7, before Minato was the Yellow Flash and when they had down time to just talk. It’s not the same, of course, because Itachi is nothing like Rin or Obito, but it’s still something that Kakashi had previously thought he’d never have again. He’d never appreciated it when he had it, and he wishes he could stretch this moment out forever.
Minato is cut off mid-sentence when Naruto abruptly screams in actual pain.
Here’s how it went down, as far as Kakashi can tell: Sakura, carefully pacing around the fray of Sasuke versus several Naruto clones, had determined which Naruto was the real one based on past patterns of behavior. When Naruto had charged in to take Sasuke on with his own body, Sakura had decided to give him a hand by substituting out with his hitai-ate, positioning herself on Naruto’s shoulders and therefore above Sasuke and angling to smack him in the face with the broad side of her sword.
She hadn’t been expecting Naruto to suddenly yell and jerk in pain, though, and she slips. Sasuke is also distracted by Naruto’s yell and does nothing to dodge the sword, now coming blade-first at his shoulder. Sakura moves to correct herself, looking panicked, and she doesn’t get to find out if she was about to accidentally stab Sasuke or not because Kakashi flash-steps over and yanks her back.
“What did I tell you about being reckless with a sword?” he asks her.
“Sorry, Sasuke-kun,” Sakura tells him sheepishly, dangling by her armpits from Kakashi’s hands.
Itachi, on the scene as quickly as Kakashi, has not stopped his brother from falling over. He does, however, offer him a hand up.
“What even happened?” Minato asks, perplexed. He’s squatted behind his son, also fallen on his ass, examining the back of his head. “You’re bleeding.”
“I don’t know!” Naruto replies. “Sakura, what the heck.”
“You need to tie your hitai-ate properly,” Minato scolds, gingerly touching the back of Naruto’s head. Naruto’s hitai-ate is in Minato’s other hand, because the Namikaze house is so littered with Hiraishin seals that Minato had been able to grab it out of the air before teleporting to his son’s aid, all before Kakashi had even gotten his hands around Sakura’s arm. “Another ninja can’t grab it with substitution if it’s secured--”
“Dad, I know,” Naruto cuts him off. “I know how to tie my hitai-ate, you know!”
Minato looks down at the hitai-ate in his hands. It’s indeed tied correctly, with several gold hairs sticking out of the knot.
“Did you tie it into your hair?” Sakura asks, affronted. “How was I supposed to know--”
“Sakura,” Kakashi cuts her off.
Sakura twitches but apologizes for ripping Naruto’s hair out. She seems unconcerned about hurting Naruto physically, but her apology does turn gravely, comically genuine about the hair. If Naruto had yanked out Sakura’s hair, Kakashi is not sure even Minato would be able to save him from her wrath. Hair is very serious business for her.
“Am I bald?” Naruto asks, sounding horrified, and Sakura’s eyes widen in horror. Sasuke snorts.
“It’s not like you can look any worse,” Sasuke tells him with a smirk. Naruto sticks his tongue out at him, and Sakura relaxes.
Now that it’s clear no one has been seriously injured or emotionally scarred by hair-pulling, the genin collapse into juvenile name calling. Minato stands, turning his son’s hitai-ate over in his hands with an oddly curious look on his face. The hitai-ate is still knotted at the back, with several of Naruto’s golden hairs sticking out.
“Did you not notice extra resistance?” Itachi asks Sakura with a tone of disapproval. “You shouldn’t rip things off your allies like that.”
“I thought…” Sakura waves her arms in a sort of helpless gesture. “I noticed it was on better than Kakashi’s, but Kakashi doesn’t tie his right.”
“Oi,” Kakashi objects at the same time Naruto squawks, “So you just ripped it off my head?!”
“Maybe that’s your finishing mood,” Sasuke says, crossing his arms and turning his mocking smirk to Sakura. “Just substitute yourself with someone’s hair--”
“Sakura,” Minato interrupts, and everyone goes quiet. “How did you do that?”
Sakura shifts nervously. “I’m not sure what you mean?” she says, voice carefully polite. “It’s just the substitution jutsu…”
“Most people can’t move something that well-attached,” Itachi tells her. He sounds dismissive, like he thinks this limitation is due to a lack of effort from other people. Maybe to a genius like Itachi, being able to push the limits of the substitution jutsu is just a matter of practicing it. Kakashi had, being a genius himself, been conceptualizing Sakura’s experimentation about the same way.
...although, now that Kakashi thinks about it, he’s not actually sure he could dislodge someone’s properly attached hitai-ate with the substitution jutsu. At least, not on the first try. He forms the hand signs.
“Sempai,” Itachi snaps, whipping his head around to frown at Kakashi when he tries to take Itachi’s hitai-ate.
“What’s her range?” Minato asks, even as he shoots Kakashi an annoyed look when Kakashi tries it on him next.
Neither Kakashi nor Itachi answer, currently distracted by trying to substitute with various pieces of the other’s uniforms. Neither of them are successful.
“What are you two doing?” Sasuke, sharingan still active and eyes darting between them, asks.
“Sakura,” Minato tries next, apparently fine with his shinobi trying to pull petty pranks on each other instead of listening to him under these circumstances. He shoots her his friendliest smile. “Can you substitute out with my hitai-ate?”
Sakura stiffens, and Kakashi drops his attempts to take Itachi’s shoes.
“Respectfully, I’d rather not,” Sakura says flatly. Kakashi puts a hand on her shoulder, and Itachi yanks so hard at his weapon’s pouch that he has to shift his stance ever so slightly.
“What’s going on?” Naruto asks, leaning his head back to blink up at his father. “Can I have my hitai-ate back?”
“I’ve just never heard of anyone using the substitution jutsu like that,” Minato says mildly, handing Naruto back his hitai-ate.
“Yeah, Sakura-chan is really smart, you know!” Naruto agrees.
Sakura’s face is pink. Kakashi is sure it’s more from the Hokage’s words than Naruto’s.
Naruto picks at the knot of his hitai-ate, looking forlorn as hair falls from it. Minato very deliberately puts his hands together in a hand sign, and then suddenly Itachi is staggering back and Minato’s weight is on Kakashi’s shoulders.
Kakashi’s eyes are bare, his hitai-ate now on the ground where Minato had been standing. Sakura has done this to him countless times, which is about the only reason he stays on his feet. It’s a close call though, as Minato is a full grown man and not a preteen girl, and he also did that so quickly Kakashi didn’t have time to brace himself. Kakashi does some embarrassing teetering, and Sakura yelps in surprise and jumps back.
“Oh, interesting,” Minato says. “You really don’t tie your hitai-ate very well, Kakashi.”
“In my defense,” Kakashi replies, trying to keep his cool with the Hokage squatting on his shoulders, “I do have to take it on and off a lot.”
“Hokage-sama, please,” Itachi hisses. His hitai-ate has been jerked to the side slightly by a failed attempt from Minato, but it’s still in place.
“Sakura, can you substitute out with Itachi’s hitai-ate?” Minato asks, leaning his elbow on the top of Kakashi’s head. “I can’t seem to get it.”
Sasuke’s eyes are darting furiously around the whole group, trying to demystify the Hokage’s interest. Even Naruto looks suspiciously around as he re-ties his hitai-ate.
“Uh,” Sakura replies. “I’ve never… tried…?”
“Go on, then,” Minato prompts. Kakashi can practically hear the smile in his voice. “I promise you won’t get in trouble.”
Sakura only hesitates a few moments. Itachi crosses his arms as his student appears on his shoulders. Sakura looks less sure than the usually gleeful look of chaos she reserves for Kakashi, and Itachi levels Minato with an unimpressed look.
Minato, however, is clearly entering whatever excited fugue he gets into when he’s developing new and horrible fuinjutsu experiments.
“Alright, Sasuke,” Minato continues in his best sensei voice. He drums the top of Kakashi’s head with his fingers. “Can you tell me what Sakura is doing that I’m not?”
Or, perhaps, Minato is having flashbacks to being a jounin sensei himself, because he’s clearly now guiding Sasuke through analyzing the situation with his new doujutsu, instead of Kakashi who has his out and has had it for years.
Sasuke looks taken aback for a moment. Then he straightens and says, “I’m not sure. I can’t… really see in that much detail yet.” He shoots his brother a look, as if asking if that’s normal. Itachi just tilts his head. “Sakura’s using a lot less chakra than you three, though.”
“Ah, so maybe us old folks are doing too much,” Minato says, and he shifts on Kakashi’s back.
Sakura very awkwardly and gingerly slides off of Itachi's shoulders.
“It’s not like moving a big object,” she says. “It’s like-- um. The difference between pulling the headband harder and undoing the knot.”
“Hmm,” Minato replies, like this metaphor makes perfect sense to him.
“I don’t get it,” Naruto says loudly. “What’s so interesting about-- DAD!”
Minato is suddenly holding his son under one arm. Kakashi snatches Naruto’s hitai-ate out of the air.
“This is some really impressive chakra work, Sakura,” Minato says, even as he grins cheekily down at his pouting son.
Sakura doesn’t preen like she would if Kakashi complimented her. Instead, she looks more quietly pleased, her cheeks going pink and a smile tugging at her lips.

Two Club Leaders, One Mat Room
Kohoha University only had one mat room, shared between two clubs; kendo and boxing.
This caused much tension between the two captions, especially when tournament season was right around the corner.
The Kendo club captain, Sasuke, walked into the gym ready to set up, when he saw the boxing team already in there.
He knew he had booked the room for that day. Approaching the pink-haired leader, Sasuke was already fuming.
“Sakura, what’s your club doing here?” He demanded to know.
“Uh what does it look like?” Rolling her eyes. “We’re training.”
If Sasuke could describe her in one word, it would be: annoying. She wasn’t like the other girls, who fawned all over him. Sakura was always running her mouth, challenging him.
“I booked this room last week.”
The expression on her face grew more irritated. “No I booked it,” the girl firmly stated. “Besides, can't you play with your swords outside or something?” waving him off.
“Play with swords?” He scoffed. “Kendo is an art form, unlike how barbaric boxing can be. You just punch people to the point where they pass out.”
“Is that all you think we do?” Sakura said, raising her voice and taking a step forward. “It’s about reading what your opponent is going to do next and quickly maneuvering. Need I repeat myself? Why don’t you practice outside?”
“Because we need the mats,” Sasuke told her, as he inched closer. “But you can practice outside, you wear protective gear right?”
“For our head and mouths. Are you going to take responsibility if one of my members gets injured falling on the concrete?”
Sakura knew how to get what she wanted, and could tell he was close to folding. Sasuke was never very vocal, unless it was with her. When he would suddenly get quiet, is when she knew he was about to give in.
Going silent, they continued to lock eyes and their faces became mere inches apart.
“Just kiss already!” Ino shouted at the pair as she snickered.
Snapping back to reality, the duo suddenly remembered they weren’t the only two in the gym. In fact they had attracted a large audience from both clubs.
Both Sasuke and Sakura glanced back at each other, finally noticing their close proximity. Both turned away blushing.
“You can have the gym,” Sasuke mumbled, covering his mouth to hide the pink hue on his face.
“Why don’t we share it?” Sakura offered.  “For today at least and later we can talk to our advisors about the mix up.”
Sasuke nodded and they went their separate ways.
“Ino, I swear I’m going to knock you out,” Sakura said to her vice captain.
“We were all thinking it,” the blonde girl shrugged. “Besides, don't you have a crush on him?”
Biting her lip, Sakura left to move her stuff over.
“Wow I only see you get so worked up around her,” Naruto said to his friend.
“Shut it loser,” the Kendo captain grumbled as he looked at the pink haired menace.
Naruto followed his line of vision. “She’s pretty cute. Maybe I’ll ask her out.”
Quickly turning his head, Sasuke glared at the loudmouth.
Naruto started laughing, having clearly been joking. “The tips of your ears are red!”

Tell Me of the Moon Ch. 5
The meeting with Mitsunari, Ieyasu, Mitsuhide, and Sasuke had ended not long after Mitsuhide had left. Ieyasu and Mitsunari walked back to Azuchi Castle together, much to Ieasyu’s displeasure. Yet when asked about escorting Mai back the girl said she wanted to check on Mitsuhide’s condition, as well as show Sasuke the way to Mitsuhide’s manor. No matter how she thought about it she hated the idea of going. Mitsuhide’s grinn told her everything she needed to know, and the fact they couldn’t name their hometown hadn’t helped.   As they moved through the streets of Azuchi, Mai stayed close to Sasuke. While the night wasn’t particularly cold, she still found herself shaking a bit. The young ninja may not have been scared of whatever fate awaited them at Mitsuhide’s residence but Mai certainly was. Currently in a long green robe and brown overcoat Sasuke looked over to see the girl’s shaky movements. “It is a bit chilly, even in summer.” he said to no one in particular as he took off his coat and put it around Mai’s shoulders. Feeling the sudden weight and warmth she turned around to see Sasuke grinning at her. Taking a step back she nearly fell again as she held the coat around her and blushed. “I saw you shivering. I hope this helps.” he said as Mai’s shivering stopped. Instead giving way to more nervous shaking and a steady blush rising in her cheeks. Looking at his honest smile she felt a bit more strength return to him as they walked.   Reaching Mitsuhide’s estate they found a man in nice robes waiting to escort them to Mitsuhide’s room. As they walked along the engawa towards the room both Sasuke and Mai admired the beautiful garden with its fireflies and wonderful view of the moon. As the pair gazed at it Sasuke started remembering the moon facts he had planned for her. As he was about to tell her one, however, Kyubey called for them to proceed forward into the room next to him.   As they entered Mitsuhide sat on a cushion, his katana next to him and a small table in front of him with various plants, a bit of water, and a mortar and pestle. Across from him rested two cushions for the pair. As Mai nervously proceeded in, Sasuke held her hand. He could tell the shaking wasn’t from the cold this time. The hold handing didn’t last long, however, as they sat down. Mitsuhide gazed at the pair. “So about our home vil-” Sasuke started before Mitsuhide raised a hand to silence him. The look on his face was serious. “I don’t care about the name of your village. Make me some medicine. I have the ingredients here for a pain reliever. So you should be able to do it.” He then looked over at Mai. “I want her to assist you.” nervously the pair looked at one another and Sasuke looked back at Mitsuhide. “No problem.” he said confidently as he handed Mai some herbs. “Get the flowers and seeds separated from these. Be careful they have some barbs” he asked her as she started running her hands along what appeared to be some type of flower and a bit of millet. She winced a bit as she cut her palms. Yet due to her work with sewing she was used to small cuts and stabs. Meanwhile Sasuke started mixing a few ingredients and grinding them down into a fine paste. Through all of this Mitsuhide watched, his expression giving nothing away. As Mai cut her hands again Sasukes stopped, as he reached towards his robes Mitsuhide’s arm prepared to move towards his sword. Instead of pulling out any weapons Sasuke instead tore his robes a bit and took Mai’s hand, slowly bandaging it and instead handing the mortar and pestle to her. “Grind it slowly, into a paste. I’ll tell you when to add water.” and with that Sasuke took the plants and separated the ingredients out himself. Skillfully seeming to avoid the barbs as, after a lengthy process, the two managed to finish the medicine. It was a wet looking drink that would almost make one think it was tea. Handing the medicine over to Mitsuhide, Sasuke and Mai both watched to see what Mitsuhide would do. Without hesitation, he drank the pain reliever down in a few gulps before putting the mortar down. “This is certainly a pain reliever, and you choose the ingredients for fever reduction. No delayed or even mild poisons, nothing to dampen the effects nor heighten them too much. You know what you are doing with medicine.” he said to Sasuke before turning his gaze to Mai. “You have no idea and will need to wash your hands. Kyubey, get some water.” Mai puffered her cheeks a bit before Mitsuhide stood up, sword in hand. “I know you two know one another, and that this man sneaks from the North into the city, and castle to see you.” At the words both Sasuke and Mai looked visibly shaken as Sasuke's coat fell off of Mai’s shoulders. “That is, well-” Sasuke started but again Mitsuhide raised a hand to silence him. “If you, either of you, are spies you are terrible at it. This girl can barely do her tasks let alone gather useful information on the warlords of Azuchi. Meanwhile you play ninja and sneak around the city just to check on her and see her. Why not simply move to Azuchi yourself?”   At the question even Mai looked at Sasuke. “I am staying with someone in Northern Japan. I owe my life too. I can not leave them. But I do not wish to leave Mai either.” his voice having a decided defiance to it his words and the gaze he returned to Mitsuhide seemed sincere. As Kyubey’s steps could be heard outside the room and a bucket of water placed outside the door Mitsuhide looked coldly at them both, the tension thick in the air. “If anyone else found out, Nobunaga for instance, he would have you tortured by my hand and executed.” Mai gulped a bit. “But, whenever you are in town this woman works far harder. I also know that while she is in Azuchi you wouldn’t do anything to harm any of us, nor Lord Nobunaga. Otherwise it is clear what would happen to her.” his hand then came to rest on the handle of his blade. “I don’t want to have to keep telling if it is you sneaking around or a real spy. From now on you will stay here when you are in Azuchi so I can keep an eye on you. You will also tell Kyubey when you are “paying a visit” to the castle.” Kyubey will prepare a room for you here, use it as you wish.” tears began rolling down Mai’s face, both from relief and shock as Mitsuhide motioned to the door. “Wash your hands, then return Mai to the castle. If you try and run, I will find you.” he then went and put the sword away before starting to put out the candles for his room, leaving plenty of opportunity for Sasuke to attack him if the boy was in fact a spy. Yet no attack came as the pair tended to Mai’s hands, eventually leaving. As they departed Mitsuhide’s estate Mai had Sasuke’s overcoat in her arms. Kyubey trailed behind them as they approached Azuchi. “I’m sorry if it has blood on it.” Mai said as she handed the overcoat back. “It’s fine. I will wash it, don't worry.” he said with a smile. As more tears began forming in the corner of Mai’s eyes sasuke ran a hand down her cheek. “Things will be fine. Mitsuhide is right. I shouldn’t have been sneaking around the castle. It was foolish of me. This way I’ll be at Mitsuhide’s estate and you can come visit me when you aren’t working. No more running around the city trying to find me.” His smile seemed reassuring as two guards from the castle began approaching the pair. Sasuke had no doubt they would escort Mai back safely, and he would return to Mitsuhide’s estate with Kyubey.  (Part 5 of 6 of an Ikemen Sengoku Fanfiction for @yaystew )   (Also tagging @ikemenlibrary and @sunnyikemen as hosts)

'Love Me Mercilessly' Kakashi x Akami Chapter 1: A Crow's Cry word count: 1.9k tw: canonical death, violence
The sky was still dark when Snake and her team were summoned before the Commander.
They were sent to Police Headquarters. The dull clouded sky was ominous as the Anbu team made their way across the Village, leaping from rooftop to rooftop. The streets below were illuminated only by the dim glow of the moon and the few lanterns with a flame still licking up the sides of their glass casings.
The Uchiha District was still, the only sounds heard was the soft whistling wind--like a whisper against their porcelain animal masks. They kept their steps soft and treaded carefully as the scent of blood and fear hung heavy in the air, like lambs before a slaughter...
Not a single officer survived. All of them missing their eyes, their bodies run through with what looked like chains. Snake's ears rang as she shifted through the corpses searching for Fugaku, her mind set only on his sons. When she came up empty handed snake left the precinct and bounded down the path that led to their home. Turning right then left then right again. Her teammates called out to her, she was breaking formation.
Bodies littered the streets and alleyways. Civilians and shinobi spilling out of their homes, a futile attempt to escape whatever madness had consumed the entire clan.
Snake entered through the back door of their home. Her hand hovering over the hilt of the blades at her hip. Despite being six years her junior Itachi was strong, capable and intelligent, he wouldn't let anyone touch his baby brother, not without a fight. ...They should be fine. Sasuke will be fine...they have to be fine. She repeated in her head over and over like a mantra. Snake struggled to sense for their chakra as she eased through the hallways. She called out for the boys, whispering their names in the darkness. Only darkness replied.
Itachi's room looked untouched, pristine as always. Sasuke’s a little messier, books left out and toys not put away. In the family room she found the bodies of Fugaku and Mikoto, Head of the Clan, Commander of the Police Force.
Fugaku was slumped over his wife, it didn’t look as though neither had put up a fight. How was someone able to take them off guard? Despite the blood pooled around them she checked their pulse, nothing. The sword that mowed them down sliced through their backs, clean and precise. It unsettled Snake, the hair at the nape of her neck stood at attention, and goosebumps scurried over her armor-plated forearms. A wave of nausea sailed through her gut and not just because the air hung heavy with the metallic tang of fresh blood. Snake couldn’t look at the bodies anymore, something was wrong...
Fugaku let this happen. What did that mean for his sons?
On the other side of the room a shuriken was wedged in the sliding door, just below her knee. The height of a child. A few drops of blood soaked into the tatami. She continued through the kitchen and out the front door, moving towards the center of the district calling out for Sasuke as panic set in.
Danzo was approaching the other Anbu units, now finished with their sweep. They confirmed Snake's suspicions...everyone is dead.
“We’ve got a live one sir.” She heard the voice down a corridor she pushed past the people in her way, running.
“Snake,” she heard Danzo call out to her.
Hare was crouched over the body of a young boy. It was him he was alive...Sasuke!
She grabbed the boy from Hare. She could hear his heart beating through his chest, he was only unconscious. “Where’d you find him? Here?” Hare nodded.
She gave Sasuke a quick once over, he had a small nick to his cheek and shoulder. Nothing serious. She cradled him to her chest relieved. He showed no signs of waking. Snake couldn’t move, her limbs trembled in relief. She was rooted to her spot with her knees in the earth. She hadn’t been around Sasuke much in the past year or so. It was hard being in the district after Shisui had died. Maybe if she was around more.
She felt the static charge of Hounds chakra, she hadn’t realized she was sensing. She wasn’t a strong sensor, too impatient to sit still but she was familiar with the electrical charge Kakashi's chakra gave off.
“They’re all dead. Who could have done this?” He asked no one, Cat on his heels.
She heard the steady pounding of Danzo's cane as he approached the Sandaime. He seemed calm, too calm. They both did, something was wrong.
“Check every home for survivors.” The Sandaime called out as more reinforcements arrived. Operatives from his guard as well.
They should be panicking, the Uchiha are dead, their greatest warrior missing. Dozens of sharingan pried from their owners. So why did they seem...prepared?
“Take away the corpses, every single one. Continue your sweep of the buildings. If there are any survivors, take them to the medical unit immediately.”
Anbu darted around in every direction. The tone of Hiruzen's voice was odd as well, he seemed irritated, disappointed perhaps.
She heard Danzo approaching and she kept her back to him. The thumping of his cane no longer clinked against the earth. Something wasn’t right.
“I witnessed everything. I will continue to watch.” She knew that voice even if puberty had deepened it. “If you so much as touch Sasuke I will pass on classified Village intel to every enemy Nation.” The flapping of wings reverberated through her skull matching her thundering heart beat. A murder of crows dispersed taking off into the night…. Itachi?  No, something wasn’t right. How could he leave Sasuke?!
Her grip on Sasuke tightened, she got to her feet the last Uchiha cradled in her arms. She turned to face Danzo. Boar at his side, always at his side.
“Snake let Boar take the boy, you’re needed here.” Danzo suggested, though his tone implied it was a demand. It always did. She walked towards them eyes trained on Sasuke, so small and broken in her arms. She abandoned him once, she was all he had now...If he even wants me. She wouldn’t abandon him again.
She stopped before them, her yellow eyes glowing in the night. Boar held his arms out to take the boy. Snake shifted Sasuke's weight and snapped the white and red porcelain serpent mask from her face. She dropped it at Danzo--the Anbu Commander's feet. It clunked against the earth like it was made of iron.
“I quit. I'm done.” She said,
Danzo's lip curled and he white knuckled his cane.
She shoved past Boar, her pupils flared in warning. And headed towards the Hospital.
"Snake!" Danzo screamed, "Akami! Get back here! You belong to me!”
**
In the three days Sasuke was unconscious Akami stayed with him. They tried to remove her from the hospital, she wasn’t family after all. They let her stay when she pulled a knife.
She removed her armor and gloves, the fingers stained with his family's blood. He finally awoke on the third day, a little past 4am in a panic.
His eyes darted around the room, and he clutched at his chest, when he saw her leaning over the foot of his bed he froze. Sasuke opened his mouth and choked on his breath,
“Kami Chan!?” He sobbed,
“It’s okay Sasuke, you’re safe now.” Her words did nothing to comfort him. He threw himself at her, clinging with all the strength he could muster.
She expected it to be weird to hug him again, to see him again. But it felt like no time had passed at all. He was still a five year old clinging to her pant leg and grasping for her hand, asking her every question he could think of.
“My mom and dad they’re...they’re ...'' he stammered, unwilling to say it aloud.
“I know, I know, it’s okay.” Akami lied.
Sasuke cried in her arms until he tired himself out again. He was exhausted. Other than the few cuts and scrapes he was fine. He was under a genjutsu, and a tough one at that. Kurenai Yuhi had to be brought in to break it. She said the chakra had an odd feel to it. It flowed differently than any genjutsu she had seen before...So it really was Itachi.
Sasuke didn’t want to talk about it and if didn’t want to share she wouldn’t force him, even when the medics and Council had tried to force him. The Council threatened to bring in Inoichi to have him take a walk through Sasuke's mind. Akami threatened to slit their throats. Hiruzen eventually let it go.
“Sasuke, you’re gonna come stay with me. Okay?” She wouldn’t force him, if he didn’t want to he wouldn’t have to. She had managed just fine on her own. He nodded at her, his eyes puffy from crying.
He was seven years old when his life changed forever.
**
Eventually the tears had stopped and she saw anger in his eyes. Akami understood anger well, but she didn’t like it now that Sasuke did too. Did she really not expect him to seek revenge? Especially when she wanted it too. She’d get it for him if she could, but something still wasn’t right. The Sandaime was too calm and one of the largest and strongest Clans in his Village was obliterated in one night. Kekkei Genkai were missing and he had only sent out three recovery squads.
They all had failed. Itachi had left the border.
Akami didn’t help dispose of the bodies, she stayed with Sasuke. She took him to her apartment, he was still so tired. She let him have her bed, she took the couch. He cried himself to sleep. Akami pretended not to hear. If he wanted her he’d come to her. She didn’t want to invade his space, he needed to grieve and she wouldn't tell him not to cry.
Akami and Sasuke used to be close. He was so curious, and it seemed she was the only one who would answer any of his questions. Akami would tell him as much as she could, he just wanted to be included, to feel like he belonged; she understood that well. She didn’t have someone to do that for her, so she did it for him. Having Fugaku as a father he was kept in the dark about a lot. Clan politics, Police business, Sasuke wasn't privy to and he likely never would have been. He was the spare, not the heir. Mikoto didn’t want Sasuke involved either. He was too young. She saw what the stress had done to Itachi; she didn’t want the same for Sasuke. She wanted him to enjoy his childhood...Isn’t life funny?
Akami jumped from the knock at her living room window. Kakashi let himself in,
“I come back and you’ve adopted a kid?” He said, sitting beside her on the couch, forcing her to scoot over. Akami frowned at him.
Kakashi informed her that they lost the trail, Itachi was gone. He had lead the recovery team. “It was weird his scent, it just…disappeared." Kakashi said, "I couldn’t smell it, my Ninken couldn’t smell it. It just vanished. I don’t know of any jutsus that can cover scent like that.” He leaned back against the cushions, his brow furrowed despite his calm demeanor, they had always been closer, Itachi was like his kouhai.
Akami wondered if she should share her suspicions, share what she had overheard. She trusted Kakashi with her life, so in the end she told him everything

Sasuke as a Sensei
Just to be clear, I am taking about a squad's sensei, rather than just a teacher at the Academy.
First off, obviously, none of the squad members would be his children. I think that'd be a fairly obvious thing that Konoha would have rules in place to stop that from happening, but you never know. Apparently it's fine to leave orphans to take care of themselves, after all.
Sasuke would likely follow a similar sort of introduction to Kakashi. He'd ask his genins students to introduce themselves, tell him something that they like and that they dislike, and what their goals are. Just so he can get an idea of what they're like.
If he has students from any particular clan, he would do a little bit of studying up on what sort of jutsu that clan specialises in. And of course, he would want to see their grades and some of their tests, so he can get a good idea of their strengths and weaknesses, even before he's met them.
His test would be similar to Kakashi's, except that he would only have one bell. He figures that since they are genin, he would take it easy on them. He would 'forget' to tell them that they're being tested as a team, and would say that only the one who gets the bell would pass. The idea is the same as Kakashi's, trying to teach them to work as a team to accomplish a goal, rather than worrying about personal glory and trying to do it on their own. After all, even if a genin is a genius, they're unlikely to be able to pull one over on him while he's on guard. He does remember that he almost managed to get a bell from Kakashi on his own, but Kakashi wasn't taking him seriously at that point, he was reading a book while fighting, after all. Sasuke wouldn't use his Sharingan but he would still be more than a match for any of the genin on their own.
He wouldn't be going TOO easy on them. He wouldn't be using his Sharingan and would be restricting himself mostly to taijutsu. The only ninjutsu he'd use would be to immobilize rather than harm, and would only be using very basic genjutsu. Even working as a team, the genin would have to work well to get the bell from him.
Assuming they pass, Sasuke would start training them almost immediately. When they are not on missions, he would tell the students each of their weak points, from judging their tests and having seen them in action, and would immediately start trying to teach them to overcome those weak points. Not to try to make it their best skill, but simply so that they were competent. Other things he would teach them in would, obviously be their strong points, to make them even stronger in that area, and general team training in basic areas, such as chakra control, climbing trees and eventually walking on water.
One thing he would teach them in that it seems most sensei neglect would be using a sword. He would provide each other them with a basic katana, and teach them to use them by training them with wooden swords.
When it comes to taijutsu, he might see if he can enlist the help of a comrade to help with that. Likely not Rock Lee, because the sort of training Lee would try to put them through would likely be... excessive and over-the-top. Neji or Kiba might be good ideas, although they are both from clans so that might not be the best idea for basic/general taijutsu.
He would also seek assistance from a comrade if he has someone from a particular clan or someone with a kekkai genkai on his team, to help train them in their specific bloodline/signature jutsu. Even if they would not be able to assist themselves, Sasuke would still seek guidance from them on how to teach his students their clan's jutsu.
He would likely take a bit of a backseat in missions, especially on the very easy ones. D rank missions are basically menial labour, after all, and even on C rank missions, he would leave most of the fighting up to the genin. They are the ones who need the experience and the training, after all. He would always be watching, though, and would step in instantly the moment he saw if they were in any real danger of getting seriously injured, or if they're up against a particularly dangerous opponent. Most of the time he would take more of a support role, giving the genin orders and instructions to help them complete their tasks.
When they are promoted to chuunin, they would get a reward. They would be allowed to make him take the team out to dinner wherever they like, and he would give them a tanto knife to go with their katana. If they are part of a clan, the tanto knife would also have the clan's symbol on it's hilt.

Real Ultimate Power
Welcome to Real Ultimate Power! This site is about ninjas, REAL NINJAS. This site is awesome. Hi my name is Rock Lee and I can’t stop thinking about ninjas.
Tumblr media
My dad is a ninja. His dad was a ninja. Now my dad is passing his ninja way to me. This site is about the nindo of youth! You too can harness the springtime of your youth to become a powerful ninja if you follow our ninja way!
Tumblr media
Ninja Facts:
Ninjas are mammals.
Ninjas go on missions ALL the time
The purpose of a ninja is to defend the village with their nindo.
Ninja Weapons and Gear:
Ninja sword
Ninja stars
Kunai
Weapons are cool and all, but my dad and I like to fight with our BARE HANDS. This makes us cooler than the guys who use weapons, but don’t tell Tenten. The last time I did, she summoned nunchucks and broke my arm.
The 8 Gates:
The 8 Gates are the ancient art of killing yourself to defend the village. You can open the first 7 Gates without dying, but you can only open the 8th Gate if you are ready to die for your precious people! Ninjas use all sorts of things to kill themselves--swords, poison, ropes, Seppuku--but the 8 Gates burn with a youthful fire to take down all your enemies!
The only catch is that In order to open the Hidden Gates, you have to get REALLY SUPER PISSED.
Tumblr media
My dad won’t let me open the 8th gate, because the 8th Gate is the Gate of Death, and he says I’m too youthful to die. When he told me that, I got so mad I swallowed a frisbee. Then my dad cried so hard he had to go to the hospital for dehydration and I won the fight. I think it reminded him about the time that his dad opened the 8th Gate to defend the village from the 7 Swordsmen of the Mist and died, but I still won, and now every time I need to open the 8th Gate without dying, I just fold a Frisbee in half and swallow it while my enemies cower in fear! Believe me, it’s pretty cool.
Dad used this technique to fight Madara Uchiha to open the 8th Gate. He got really super pissed because Madara was trying to put all the nations into an infinite dreamworld, and my dad used all the youthful power of his chakra to swallow a Frisbee and Madara was so scared he crapped his pants!
Tumblr media
How to open the 8 Gates
Step 1    Get a frisbee from Tenten.
Step 2    Clean the Frisbee.
Step 3    Make sure your dad isn’t around
Step 4    Put something slippery on it, like butter or cream.
Step 5    Get really super pissed.
Step 6    Fold the Frisbee hard (this is crucial)
Step 7    Keep folded and insert Frisbee into mouth hard.
Step 8    Push hard until you can’t see it.
Step 9    Wait.
Step 10  Become engulfed by the flames of youth
Step 11  Flip out and kill people
Step 12  Die.
Ninja Sightings
This is Kakashi-sensei! He teaches Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. No one has ever seen his face. He is such a hip and cool ninja that he will flip out and kill you if you do.
Tumblr media
This is my ninja team! My dad and I are posing with our beloved teammates, Neji and Tenten! Neji has the Byakugan and has mastered the art of chakra manipulation! When he gets super pissed off, he can stop your chakra! Tenten can summon ninja tools from scrolls and then she flips out and hurts people! I am so proud of my team! They are truly incredible and I love them with all of the power of my youth!
Tumblr media
Lady Tsunade is the 5th Hokage, the ruler of the Fire Country! She likes gambling and drinking and kicking ass even if she is old! Grandma Tsunade will flip out and punch a hole in your stomach with her bare hand. She is master of the Rebirth Technique Strength of a Hundred and if you try to hurt her she will just heal herself! I am proud to serve such a noble lady as a humble ninja from Konoha!

21Chapter 22: THE MIZUKAGE- SHADOW AND BLOOD
BORUTO/ALTER
CHOCHO RAN through flames.
The screams of kiri nin dug at her fear- But she couldn't give in to such weakness now.
Chocho adjusted Inojin across a small back, his blood blotting clothing along with pouring rain.
To Chocho's left and right, buildings burned as rogue nin pushed forward, leaping from structure to structure with flashing swords.
In the chaos, none seemed to pay her any attention. The rogue nin kept themselves occupied by breaking into homes, stealing what little goods were to be found-
before killing the families within.
Chocho shut her eyes, tears brimming underneath them as tired legs were forced into a run.
I'm sorry. I have to protect my friend!
It was more than that. Inojin.. Was precious to all of their parents.
Inojin was born with two other siblings. Twins who were killed by their older brother, Khitan.
Chocho didn't know much about the event, but she knew that Shikamaru and Sai were able to fend off Khitan, who then fled the village, becoming a rogue nin.
After all that Inojin and his parents had been through.. Chocho doubled her resolve.
You're definitely not dying here, Inojin!
With that said, Chocho knew that the situation was bad.
The kiri under Nagayasu seemed to be far stronger than those of Chōjūrō. Pain, death, fear- it all howled around her, billowing out of windows as dying screams or rising from bodies of citizens who were trampled to death by their fleeing neighbors.
I have to at least make it back to the medical center.. Even if it's under attack- there's more of a chance there than out here!
Chocho sprinted forward, nimbly kicking away from a body that fell from the buildings above. Chocho ignored the dying man as he unintelligibly pleaded to her, mouth filling with blood as he choked.
Chocho grimaced.
She ran, the Shinobi's eyes haunting her with each pained step.
The medical center was within her gaze now. It was missing its roof, and wicked chakra spat about the air from the top floors.
However.. The main structure itself was intact. Nagayasu's forces seemed to be attacking here as well, but their numbers were far less numerous.
Chocho danced between the shadows of nearby towers. The young Kuonichi paused, waiting for two patrolling rogue nin to drunkenly run through the nearby street, swords covered in blood as they laughed.
Chocho narrowed her eyes, sprinting ahead silently against the light of the bloodied moon.
Chocho leapt in the air, passing through a broken window that led to the building within.
Her skin instantly warmed as lights flickered on. She steadied Inojin, before gathering in darkened surroundings.
The hallway before her was painted with bodies and blood. Random doors were slashed open, while medical equipment was ripped from carefully built interfaces and left in piles beside cooling corpses.
Chocho warily continued. Thus far, she didn't sense anything immediately around her. There was however... some sort of sinister chakra far above. With that said, Chocho knew that at least for now, there was no immediate threat.
She trusted in her sensory skills- Shikadai said she was the best out of all of them-
Shikadai.
She hoped he was okay. It should be fine now, right?- the Kage are here, aren't they?
True panic threatened Chocho's thoughts. It didn't seem as if anyone was alive. And above her.. the distant cackle of violent chakra seemed to press against her senses with a sudden harshness.
I'm.. I'm scared!
Chocho shook her head, tears silently streaming down her face.
I can't be weak now. Not with them depending on me. I have to save Inojin, and I have to make sure someone is there to go back and find Shikadai!
She ran once more, resilient to the splashes of blood that sprayed from the stomp of her sandals.
Room after room was empty, devoid of life or working medical tools. Chocho steadily made her way through floor after floor, until finally-
The sound of swords clashing together filled Chocho's ears.
It's coming from the floor right above me!
Chocho began to run-
She paused, turning before placing Inojin down.
Inojin was still unconscious, and bleeding heavily. Chocho sighed, swallowing rising despair as she used rudimentary medical jutsu.
She simply transferred more chakra to his body's natural healing- it wouldn't heal him enough to fully ensure his safety, but it would help Inojin's blood continue to clot and circulate as opposed to bleeding out.
Chocho rose, gripping her sword.
"This would be a lot easier if you were awake. Who's annoying now?" Chocho smiled sadly.
I feel like something bad is about to happen.
A violent exchange of blows, followed by a scream, brought Chocho to a ducked run. She drew her tantō, chakra running through the edge of the weapon's blade.
Chocho followed the sounds of further battle, zipping across a flight of stairs until-
A body hurtled straight for Chocho. She spun out of the way, blood flying across her face. The body crashed against a wall behind her with fleshly slop-
A shadow was upon Chocho in the next moment.
Though it was not one that carried the sense of killing intent.
Chocho lowered her weapon, raising eyes to the shadow above her at the same time.
It was a boy who looked to be the same age as Chocho. The bottom of his mouth was tightly wrapped in white bandages, while spiked black hair fell over a kiri headband. He carried a massive blade that was forked into two tongues, but Chocho noticed he also carried a smaller sword, one that seemed to not belong to him.
Smart. That greatsword isn't the best weapon to use in tight spaces like these. I can see why he's alive, at least.
"I saw your konoha headband-" The boy began.
Chocho glared at him.
"There's no time to really explain. I have one wounded genin with me, and another back in the city. What's the situation like here? Where are the Kage? Moegi.. Mugino..!" Chocho spoke hurriedly as she raced back to Inojin, the kiri boy following behind her.
"I don't know those other names.. but the Kage are fighting whatever is above us. I'm sure you've felt it by now.. that chakra." The young kiri nin said, running beside Chocho.
Chocho's eyes threatened to water. Once more, she shut them, focusing now on Inojin as the pair turned into the stairway hall.
"He's-!" The kiri nin's voice rose in alarm.
The boy slid for Inojin, coming upon Chocho's teammate and placing down both swords.
"He's.. I don't know how much more time he has left." Chocho rasped.
The dark haired youth looked up at Chocho, before silently turning his attention back to Inojin's heaving, bloody wound.
"You're in luck. The Mizukage left behind his second in command of sorts- Kagura Karatachi. I don't know much about him- but he's a jonin. And he knows medical jutsu." The boy's eyes met Chocho's once more.
"Though your friend's injuries are serious. I'll be honest with you.. he still could die." the youth spoke, gathering up Inojin.
"I'll lead the way. Let's hurry."
MEI PROPELLED herself backwards upon a jet of water.
Shih Kango chuckled with dim humor. His light violet skin seemed to shine in the light of the moon-
Shih was beside Mei in mere seconds, erupting from a shard of ice by her foot.
Those damn mirrors! They're everywhere!
Mei lowered to the cracked floor below, closing her eyes inadvertently as Shih's broadsword passed overhead.
Chōjūrō.. he isn't keeping up..!
"Stay focused.. Fifth Mizukage!" Shih hissed as he lifted his weapon-
Before vanishing into one of a thousand mirrors.
"Chōjūrō! I need your help!" Mei shouted. She skipped back, rain pressing red hair against a bloodied forehead.
Shih..I've never actually fought him. He truly is as strong as they say...
Mei stopped just short of Chōjūrō's kneeling stance. Blood poured from numerous wounds that crawled across the Sixth Mizukage's body.
Shih had toyed with Chōjūrō- and spat him out.
"He's.. he's too fast…!" Chōjūrō hissed, blood trailing down both sides of his sharp toothed frown.
Shih suddenly reappeared from above.
"Ice Release: Singing Rapture!
Several of Shih's mirrors formed together in the air around him, churning into snowing, spinning rectangles of frozen glass.
Mei gathered Chōjūrō by the shoulder, the Sixth Mizukage lazily dragging his broadsword behind.
Mei propelled herself and Chōjūrō away with a stream of water-
Just as thousands of ice needles shot from each of the mirrors, exploding into a fine mist as they cut into the ground only seconds off target.
Shih fell from the air, ice mirrors above him cracking into further needles-
Then hurtling for both Mizukage.
Damn it!
Mei cusped both hands together.
"Water Style: Water Wall!" Chakra filled Mei's voice as water boomed in reprisal. A torrent of blue rose to the defense of Mei and Chōjūrō, absorbing Shih's ice in an advancing tsunami.
Mei turned to Chōjūrō in the seconds she bought them.
"Get it together, Mizukage! Remember who you are!" Mei spoke as Chōjūrō shakily straightened his stance. Blood spurting from his mouth, eyes glaring forward behind faded goggles.
"I know..!" Chōjūrō suddenly rushed ahead, meeting Shih as the latter lurked between a slash that parted Mei's water.
Their swords crossed with rumbling strikes, Shih's quiet smile growing wider.
Chōjūrō disengaged for a moment, chakra screeching from his weapon.
He fashioned the chakra into a massive warhammer-
Then spun for Shih.
Shih narrowed his eyes, raising zabuza's sword-
Mei danced from behind the Swordsman.
Now it's our turn!
Mei flashed fingers together, forming jutsu signs faster than the human eye could track.
"Water Style: Dragon's Gaze!" Mei shouted as rings of water formed around both her and Shih.
The rings harmlessly passed Mei..
Focusing instead on Nagayasu's warrior. Mei's jutsu wrapped around Shih, keeping liquid form while somehow constricting into malleable rivers of water.
Chōjūrō's hammer hurtled into Shih.
Chōjūrō narrowed his eyes-
A crack was heard, smoke billowing from Shih's quivering body..
Before it fell to the ground as a shattered statue of ice.
Shih silently flashed to Chōjūrō's left.
He was close to the ground, Zabuza's sword held at his waist. He knifed the cleaver for Chōjūrō's legs-
Chōjūrō leapt over the strike, stabbing his own sword downward.
Shih rolled to the right, laughing as Chōjūrō's blade met nothing but ruined floor and stone.
Shih kicked Zabuza's sword back into the air, spinning before hurling the massive blade downwards for Chōjūrō's head.
Chōjūrō stood perfectly still, narrowly evading the attack and smiling at Shih's bewildered gaze.
Chōjūrō then cut past the Swordsman in the very next second, sword held high.
Shih fell to one knee, blood flying from his chest.
Chōjūrō..! Mei rushed forward, smirking.
This is just what we needed!
Mei summoned all the chakra she possessed.
I'll end this with my next jutsu!
Chōjūrō turned just as Shih chuckled to his full height.
"Finally coming alive… Chōjūrō?!" Shih blitzed into a speck of air-
Smoke gathered around Chōjūrō before Shih himself exploded into life. The Swordsman assailed Chōjūrō with a relentless assault-
Their swords cried aloud, steels clanging together. Both Shih and Chōjūrō had twisted smiles on their faces, blood flying from each grin.
Keep him right there, Chōjūrō!
Mei clapped palms together.
"Boil Release: Concussive World!" Mei shouted.
Shih faltered, broken out of his trance with Chōjūrō as the weight of Mei's chakra suddenly hit him.
"Get back, Chōjūrō!" Mei shouted. Chōjūrō zipped to safety-
Shih moved to intercept, before being halted by a superheated fog that burned his purple skin.
"What.. is this?!" Shih whispered in quiet horror. He attempted to flee into one of his mirrors-
But they melted before he could enter them.
At the same time, a screen of water formed around Shih, keeping him restricted within an orb of burning mist.
Mei then closed her fingers into each other-
The orb sharply shrunk.
Shih's voice erupted in a howling, shrieking yelp. The orb filled with red haze as the sound of skin sizzling could be heard in muted tones.
Mei smiled.
That should-
The orb exploded in chakra. Eyes glowed darkly from within rising smoke.
Shih hunched over, but inexplicably and resolutely stood on his feet, Zabuza's blade held across raw and bleeding shoulders. Shih's skin was boiled- bits of it hung off, while lesions formed across his chest and arms. Parts of his face now bore exposed bone, fleshy flaps hanging from deranged and skeletal eyes.
How is he still-
Chōjūrō broke the dissipating smoke behind Shih. The Sixth Mizukage swung into a bisecting slash-
Shih, despite his wounds, turned instantly to meet Chōjūrō.
He saw him.. how?!
Mei leapt into the fray.
I'm no good at close range.. but!
Mei spouted a stream of lava from her mouth just as Shih's cleaving strike knocked Chōjūrō off balance.
Shih glared at Mei, evaporating into his mirrors as they rose from the floor.
His shadow danced about them-
Mei felt the kiss of air meet her neck.
This speed-
Just as Mei felt Shih's weight begin to press into the edge of her throat.
Chōjūrō was beside her.
A rush of chakra pushed Mei slightly away from the Swordsmen-
Mei threw her head upwards, screaming Chōjūrō's name, red hair billowing across a panicked face.
Chōjūrō blocked Zabuza's blade with Hirameikarei, struggling underneath Shih's strength.
Mei rebounded upon a nearby jutting stone- she pounced upon Shih, covering her fists with lava.
A mirror sprung up from the floor, tripling in size as it chased Mei's falling fists, meeting them with harmless hisses.
Chōjūrō roared.
Mei looked up, surprised by the chakra that rose from the timid Kage. Chōjūrō reversed his grip on Hirameikarei's dual handle, then pulled the sword backwards, disarming Shih while slicing off one of his arms.
Mei gasped-
Chōjūrō didn't falter. In the same swipe, he rotated his swing back around with hidden speed and strength- overcoming Shih's own ability for the first time during their battle.
Hirameikarei blurred into a crescent of moveme-
A spear of ice leapt from Shih's remaining palm. It punctured Chōjūrō through his left eye, blood instantly rushing from the wound as Chōjūrō's movements went limp.
Mei's vision seemed as if it was being obstructed by blackness.
Tears streamed behind Mei's eyes as they contorted in disbelief and rage.
Chōjūrō stepped backwards, breaking away a part of Shih's ice with him. He stumbled about for a few moments, before finally falling to his knees, then to his back.
Chōjūrō's chest went still.
"Ch-..Chōjūrō!" Mei screamed.
"…you..!" Mei snarled into a run, chakra screeching about her.
Shih dashed away-
He's slower, but he's still faster than I am!
"Running away?! What's wrong?! I should be easy for you to kill now, Shih!" Mei's voice bellowed in the thunderous night.
Shih turned, standing upon a lone column of stone that once belonged to a domed roof.
"We've fulfilled our objective…" Shih reached into his cloth belt, producing some sort of flare.
He rose a burned arm into the air, firing the flare as it exploded in white light across thundering clouds that threatened the moon.
Retreat? But-
Shih regarded Mei with cruel humor as she climbed to reach him.
"You're weak, Mizukage. Nagayasu ordered that you.. are to be spared. Though don't worry. Next time we meet.. I'll be sure to return in kind." Shih whispered.
He formed a series of jutsu signs with his remaining arm-
Before vanishing within the sound of beating rain.
Mei didn't waste another thought.
She spun, rushing to Chōjūrō.
Mei knelt beside him, cradling his head as tears freely fell upon Chōjūrō's bloodied body.
I'm so sorry.. Chōjūrō..!
TSUNADE SOMERSAULTED BACKWARDS. A long ponytail danced behind honed movements aged by precise chakra control.
Botashirin laughed, her voice growing higher and more childlike.
"You can get stronger! You can!" Botashirin applauded.
Tsunade landed upright, sliding backwards as Botashirin rushed to greet her.
Tsunade ducked into a crouch, rolling to the right as Botashirin ripped her first through the air.
"Ho..?" Botashirin hissed coyly, crouching herself lower to the ground.
Tsunade kept moving. From her roll, she rose into a circling run. She pumped chakra through aging muscles-
Tsunade charged for Botashirin-
Botashirin formed a jutsu sign with both hands.
Tsunade felt as if she were blind for a moment.
Chakra overwhelmed her senses.
All she could perceive was Botashirin.. and the black, snaking heads of chakra that sprouted from her. The blackness seemed to be inhabited by some sort of static, and the chakra itself was fashioned into the shape of a female hydra, each face complete with wavering purple locks.
"Come now," Botashirin smiled as Tsunade's senses returned.
The apparition that curled around Botashirin vanished.
But Tsunade could still feel it.
"Don't stop now." Botashirin's playfulness had been replaced by a strange, alien intellect.
She stepped forward-
Before a bang split Tsunade's ears.
A shock of light filled Tsunade's vision. She couldn't see for a moment, but she could hear-
And the sound she heard was Botashirin laughing.
"More! More!" Botashirin cheered.
Tsunade's vision slowly returned.
Was that.. a retreat signal?
Tsunade looked about her, around the ruined outskirts of Kirigakure and further beyond.
Sure enough, the tall man was gone. She also noticed other Kiri nin fleeing, running while hands were filled with what little goods they seemed to have stolen.
A withdrawal.. after all of this..
Tsunade's eyes widened.
"That means we're going too." Another voice called.
Tsunade was drawn to Botashirin, who was still looking expectantly up at the sky, light rain drizzling upon a youthful face.
Another man was beside her.
This one was wearing a haori of colored birds, with a zig-zagging black ponytail and sharply slanted eyes. In his hand a chain was found.. which in turn carried a panting human head.
"Soejima.. already?" Botashirin gave Tsunade a sad face.
"It's fine I guess. I miss Ada. I want to see her!" Botashirin clapped her hands together expectantly.
Soejima shrugged, giving Tsunade a helpless, comical grin. The head Soejima carried vomited-
But.. it was-
That's.. chakra?!
The vomit spread over a small circle of ground- revealing mirroring images within.
Time-space ninjutsu?
"Who are you?!" Tsunade ran for the pair-
But before Tsunade could hone in on them, they both hopped into the vomit.
Botashirin waved as she slowly sunk into the ground, Soejima's portal closing with a hissing smack.
Tsunade fell to her knees.
She gasped for breath, the shock of the past events finally settling within.
She felt almost as if.. this was all for nothing. Above, she heard the sound of Kiri nin fleeing, cackling in the night. The cries of the dying accompanied that of mourning wailers, fire cackling behind them all.
"Tsunade," Kakashi landed beside his fellow Hokage, nodding.
"I felt a horrible chakra.. but then-"
Tsunade offered Kakashi a smiling grimace.
"Horrible doesn't even begin to explain it. Nor does it explain their retreat." Tsunade answered.
"I saw the flare. It seemed as if they were on the cusp of victory. To flee now means-"
Tsunade's eyes widened.
"Victory here wasn't their intent. Not yet."
A somber nod passed between the two experienced Shinobi.
They rushed for headquarters, silent dread preparing its greeting.
BORUTO OPENED HIS EYES.
Light replaced darkness far too quickly for him.
He groaned.
"Of course the first thing he does is frown," Boruto heard Konohamaru's voice, followed by the laughter of his parents.
Boruto rose, fully awake and bewildered to find himself in bed.
Naruto and Hinata were seated beside him, while Konohamaru stood beside Boruto's second window. He smiled, nodding at Boruto.
"You were out for about six hours." He said softly.
Hinata leaned closer, holding Boruto's hand.
"How are you feeling?" She asked.
Boruto looked at his other hand-
It was bandaged again, small splotches of blood painting wrapped white cloth.
"My head.. It hurts, I guess." Boruto said.
Naruto laughed.
"Mine would too if I learned the Rasengan as quickly as you did.."
Naruto leaned in closer as well. He clasped Boruto on the shoulder, blue eyes locking into Boruto's gaze.
"I'm proud of you, Boruto. You.. you're so much smarter than I was at your age. But please..It's a dangerous technique for you..So you have to promise me not to use it if you're in danger. Not yet." Naruto smiled then, clapping Boruto's shoulder as he leaned back.
"But still.. that sort of power!" Naruto smiled genuinely.
"That's incredible Boruto!" Naruto exclaimed.
"You should've seen it, Lord Seventh. Even Mitsuki was shocked."
Boruto had, despite himself, broken a small smile due to his dad's praise.
But at the sound of Mitsuki's name-
Boruto was about to ask where Mitsuki was, but felt better of it.
No doubt Mitsuki was hurt.
Hinata squeezed Boruto's hand, which made him realize he was frowning.
"This is probably a lot for you, I'm sorry. We were just.." Hinata didn't cry, but Boruto could tell from the look in her pale eyes that she was thinking of Hima.
"I know, mom. I know." Boruto smiled.
"I'm glad you guys are here. I still can't believe I did it." Boruto met Naruto's eyes then.
Boruto silently raised a bandaged fist to Naruto.
Naruto jumped, startled as Konohamaru laughed in the back.
"Come on, don't you do this lame thing?" Boruto shook his fist in the air.
Naruto smiled, bumping his fist against Boruto's.
He sniffled.
"Are you crying?!" Boruto exclaimed.
Naruto reddened, jumping up from his seat.
"No- I" Naruto stammered.
"It's fine, Naruto," Hinata said, smiling warmly.
"I was crying when I carried him here! At first I was proud, but then I realized you had almost no chakra, Boruto. Lord Hokage's right, you really can't afford to use the Rasengan in a pitched ba-"
Boruto's pillow smashed across Konohamaru, causing the man to choke on his next words.
IT WOULD BE TIME SOON.
SHOJOJI DIDN'T want to keep Otogane Gamou waiting. He had to procure the boy.. and for that, he needed the girl.
Sumire.
Shojoji snaked about the wood of the home.
Surprisingly, the girl and her mother were out. Only the father remained. The father was seated in their main living space, calmly sipping at a cup of tea.
The man turned his head, before unnaturally leaning backward until his eyes directly met Shojoji's.
Sweat beaded down Shojoji's forehead in seconds.
All this time.. he could sense me?!
He would have to kill the father first- he hadn't planned on taking the girl's body now, but if the man-
"Before you take action, consider the fact we may be beneficial to one another." The man said.
Shojoji halted. He still kept himself hidden, but he hadn't spoken yet.
Should I? Suppose it's too late now.
"Beneficial?" Shojoji asked.
The man leaned back to a normal position, head no longer facing Shojoji.
"I imagine your intent here does not end at my family." The man said slowly.
"No. But I intend to kill them. Both your daughter and your wife. You as well." Shojoji replied.
The man chuckled, taking a sip of tea.
"And you could. I can sense your power. It would be done in seconds."
The man finished his tea. He politely coughed, then resumed speaking.
"I have no interest in my family. They were only a means to an end. What I have an interest in.."
The man rose from his mat, turning to face Shojoji.
"Is the destruction of Konoha."

What if mc was a teen mom?
Hi again @atinyliliflower
As it turns out, in Sengoku Japan, it was pretty common for women of the samurai and Daimyo classes to marry rather young (between ages 17 and 20), so in general, the warlords would be familiar with teenage moms, and (unfortunately) young, even teenage widowed moms...
But I thought it would be fun to write a headcanon where MC is working hard at her chatelaine/seamstress duties and the warlords have to take care of her baby for a day...
So...
Warlords taking care of MC's teething baby:
In Azuchi Castle...
Nobunaga - Baby is screaming while Nobunaga is trying to hold war council. Without missing a beat, Nobunaga grabs Bearsace off the shelf and nestles it in the baby's arms, and continues to hold the meeting while pacing and rocking it. Hm... maybe the baby would like konpieto...?
Hideyoshi - Do NOT give this baby candy, Lord Nobunaga. Sir. It is too young. He takes the child out of Nobunaga's arms and rocks and croons. The baby grabs hold of his hair and tugs, hard enough for it to hurt, but Hideyoshi less bothered by the pain than he is sad that he can't make the baby smile as easily as MC smiles.
Still the baby screams...
Masamune - Maybe it's hungry? He dashes off to the kitchen and prepares a bowl of very soft rice. When he returns, he attempts to feed the child. Baby spits the rice back out all over Hideyoshi.
Mitshuhide - Gets out his kitsune mask and plays peek-a-boo with the baby. The baby is momentarily entertained, and laughs a little, but the teething pain becomes too much for distraction, and it starts screaming again.
.....Outside the castle, Kicho, Motonari and Kennyo had been about to attack, but upon hearing the baby screaming, and figure the better revenge is to make Nobunaga live with a screaming baby inside the castle....
Keiji - Seeing that distraction worked before, he grabs the baby and begins swooping it up and down in the air.
(Very bad idea.)
Ranmaru - Walks into the room. Hears baby screaming. Turns around and walks out again.
Ieyasu - Don't you know anything about small creatures? The child is growing teeth, and needs something soft to gnaw on. He turns to Mitsunari and puts Mitsunari's finger in the baby's mouth.
The baby stops screaming.
Mitsunari - Is happy to have been of help, but... how long does he need to stand here with his hand in the baby's mouth?
Ieyasu - "Until MC returns."
At Kasugayama...
Kenshin - Offers to kill the baby to get it to shut up.
Kanetsugu - Snatches baby out of Kenshin's arms. "My Lord, I'm certain it only needs a little time to learn how to offer you the proper respect." Tries to use logic to reason with baby. (Baby continues to howl).
Sasuke -Seeing that Kenshin has pulled out his sword, he swoops in and grabs the screaming baby. He tries to amuse it by telling it science puns.
The baby's still screaming.
Yoshimoto - Walks into the room. Hears baby screaming. Turns around and walks out again.
Shingen - takes over the baby, and there is a moment of silence as the baby feels safe in Shingen's strong arms... and folllowed by unceasing infant fury when the child realizes that, there's no milk to be had here.
Shingen decides to find MC and bring her to the child for nursing, and he puts the screamer into Yukimura's arms and turns to leave... but... he realizes...
The baby is quiet.
It's happily nestled in Yukimura's arms. It's even sort of ... smiling?
"Yukimura? How did you do that?" They circle around him, wondering what the secret is.
Yukimura looks panicked... "I don't know. It... just... stopped crying?" He tries to give the baby to someone else, but they all step back, hands behind their backs. "No, no... clearly you have the touch. You just, keep... doing whatever it is you're doing."

Indra swore that neither he nor any of his descendants who have inherited his eyes would harm Shachi. Madara reswore this promise when he vowed to Haruka that no Uchiha shall ever use their sharingan against her.
That promise is now coming back to bite Sasuke, and Madara, in the ass.
"That doesn't work on me."
Sasuke stared down at the pink haired girl, his hand stilled. The spinning in his sharingan eyes slowing down. Sakura has always been a smart girl, quick to figure out if she was in a genjutsu, and even quicker to break it. But to resist a genjutsu powered by the sharingan? It's practically impossible.
As observant as ever, Sakura reads Sasuke's silent language. She shruggs. "I've built up a tolerance against genjutsu. Most genjutsu doesn't work fully unless I allow it. The sharingan however has never worked on me, even when we were twelve."
Sasuke's hand moves again, this time knocking the kunai out of Sakura's hand, then wrestling her to the ground. Somehow managing to pin her, Sasuke has one hand in her hair, forcing Sakura to look directly in the eye.
Mangekyou sharingan activated Sasuke waited.
And waited.
And waited.
"It won't work."
Sasuke knocked Sakura out.
"The sharingan doesn't work?!" Obito raged.
Sasuke stepped in front of the still knocked out medic. Blocking her from Obito's view, but this shift gave Madara a perfect view of her face.
Was it a Haruno thing? To be able to resist the Uchiha clan's infamous eyes?
Madara studied the girl closer.
This Sakura held a great resemblance to his Haruka, most notably her pink hair. Haruka wore it longer, always having a hair ornament in it. It's been years since Madara seen an empty Haruno circle but it looked off to Madara without the Uchiha fan inside.
"We should just kill her! End this problem right now!" Obito stepped closer.
"No!"
Sasuke and Obito turned, surprised to hear Madara give out the same growl as Sasuke.
"We'll find a way to control her. The Haruno girl will give the Uchiha clan renewed strength."
Sasuke stepped closer to her, this time blocking Madara's view. As Madara suspected when he first saw Sasuke with the girl.
No other clan loved quite like the Uchiha. Even in this twisted form Sasuke feels.
Madara returned hours later, a cloth covered object in his hands. Sasuke sat on the other side of the room while the girl still slept. Cleaning his sword, Madara could sense the silent threat.
"There was only one other person who could resist the sharingan." Madara said as laid the object on the table. Slowly he unwrapped the cloth. "Believe it or not she was a Haruno too."
Sasuke narrowed his eyes. "What happened to her?"
The object was revealed to be a hair ornament. It was made to resemble the Uchiha fan.
"I married her."
Hopefully these two don't end in betrayal.

Chapter 6
Sasuke visibly cringed at the filth and mildew that lined the walls of the abandoned Akatsuki hideout. Rubble and debris crinkled beneath his sandals as he tread through the decaying building, the sound echoing eerily throughout the empty space. It was difficult for him to picture Itachi, disciplined and methodical, in such a filthy place.
Stopping before a pile of scrolls on the ground, Sasuke opened each one only to find that none were legible, the ink blurred from rain damage. He knew that the chances of him finding anything still intact was slim, but he wasn't ready to give up just yet. He was desperate for a glimpse into Itachi's life, no matter how small it was.
Deeper into the hideout was more of the same, to his dismay. Disappointed but still persistent, he continued his trek through the building, running his fingers along the wall as he moved. Just then, an abrupt change in the wall's texture made him halt his steps.
Moving closer to inspect it, Sasuke continued to run his fingers across the surface of the wall, finding that the change in texture was localized to a single spot. As he prodded the wall, he noted that the area was barely shoulder width apart, its borders distinct. A hidden door, he realized. And suddenly, with a push, it opened.
As he peered into the darkness, a piercing scream resounded in his ears. Caught off guard, he couldn't dodge quick enough when a body crashed into his and tackled him to the ground. As he got his bearings, he couldn't help but think that he's heard that scream before.
But before he could continue that train of thought, a fist flying towards his face demanded his attention. As he blocked the assault, he quickly pushed himself out from under the assailant's body and up to his feet. Waiting there to meet him was a woman clad in an ANBU mask and a black cloak.
Sasuke activated his Sharingan and summoned electricity to his hand. He took aim at the woman as the familiar high-pitched sound filled the room. But before his chidori could make contact with the attacker's body, a blade pierced his shoulder blade from behind. Seeing him pause, the woman jumped out of the way and disappeared into the darkness.
Whipping around, he found himself in the midst of five masked assailants, each one stood poised for attack. Kunai and shuriken flew towards him but his visual prowess allowed him to dodge each one with ease.
With a rough shove, his chidori pierced the chest of a man to his right. At the same time, he crouched to avoid a jutsu cast by another ninja, sending a wave of water blasting towards him at full force. Cringing slightly at the feeling in his hands, he ripped his arm out from where it impaled his opponent and darted to the far side of the building.
At a standstill, he could feel the enemy size him up. Four attackers remained now: two men and two women who quickly spread out to surround him. Drawing his sword from where it rested at his waist in its sheath, he wasted no time in charging at the man who stood directly in front of him. He could sense the others chase closely behind him.
At the last minute, seconds before his blade would have hit the man, Sasuke abruptly turned and swung his sword behind him, slashing the body of an unsuspecting attacker. A scream echoed in the hideout as the woman collapsed, blood pouring from the mortal wound on throat.
Spinning on his heels again, he dragged his blade across where he sensed another attacker. However, this time, his weapon was blocked by another. A metallic ring sounded as the two metals met, with the man's sword held vertically merely inches away from Sasuke's face. The only thing stopping Sasuke from being slashed was his own sword held perpendicular against the assaulting weapon.
Swiftly, he moved his sword and ducked before the man could swing it further down onto his face. Moving quicker than the naked eye could see, Sasuke kicked the man's legs out from under him, sending him crashing to the ground on his back. After channeling chakra into his sword, enough to audibly hear the crackle of lightning, he plunged the blade deep into the man's chest. Sasuke did not plan on showing mercy today.
Three down, two to go. The remaining assailants stood in front of him now, several feet away. Sasuke made a mental note to keep at least one alive for interrogation. Although he was pretty sure this attack had something to do with that bounty on his head.
He was poised, ready to be on the offensive again, when the scream he heard earlier rang throughout the room. Hearing it a second time, he was sure that he knew it. His suspicions were only confirmed when the voice shrieked his name, causing his chest to lurched painfully at the sound. Blood running cold, he froze in place and couldn't force himself to move or even think. His body, now moving on its own, started to run towards the direction of the scream as he tried and failed miserably to stop the panic rising in his stomach.
The scream got louder and louder as he neared its location and he could only pray that he got there in time. He had no idea what they were doing, but he'd heard screams like that before during his time with Orochimaru; screams of excruciating pain that could only mean one thing: torture.
Finally, he reached another wall that seemed to be equipped with the same hidden door mechanism he had stumbled upon earlier. But this time, nothing he did would open it. Pressing his ear against the door, his heart dropped when he realized that the screams were now replaced with hysterical sobbing, begging for the torture to end.
Before Sasuke could continue his desperate attempts to break down the entryway, a hard object smashed against the side of his head, hard enough that he could almost feel his brain reverberate against the inside of his skull. Very rarely could he ever be caught off guard by such an attack, but his thoughts were still racing a mile a minute and his movements were fueled solely by autopilot.
His vision blurred from the force of the impact on his head and he could feel his Sharingan deactivate. Reaching up to touch where he was struck, he was unsurprised to find warm, red liquid spewing from the wound. But he couldn't give up just yet.
Pulling himself to his feet, he surveyed his surroundings, finding that the attackers have activated some sort of smoke bomb. As haze filled the room, he realized that this was no ordinary smoke. The substance burned his nostrils and rendered his eyes completely useless. He recognized this smoke bomb as one specially formulated to combat dojutsu. He had only ever seen this weapon once before, back when it was being developed in Konoha, and it had no reason to be in the hands of some ordinary bounty hunters.
Coughing quickly became a gasp for air. With the last of his energy, he summoned Chidori again, readying himself to break down the door. But before he could move, arms reached from all around him to trap his body in place. Another hand reached to cup the back of his head as a sudden nausea overcame him. Someone was absorbing his chakra.
Black spots danced across his vision and he knew he wouldn't be able to hold on any longer. As he lost consciousness, he could only think of the scream from behind the door that was begging him to save her. It was a voice he knew so well, one that he had to physically suppress his memories of when he left the village. It was the voice of Sakura Haruno.

When he woke, Sasuke almost didn't believe he was actually conscious but the pain radiating from the side of his head convinced him otherwise. His vision was completely black, covered by a blindfold tied across his eyes. His lone arm was shackled against a pipe as the metal restraints dug uncomfortably into his wrist.
Before he went unconscious, he could remember the feeling of someone draining every last drop of his chakra. His suspicions were confirmed when he tried to activate his eyes only to realize that it was nearly impossible. Sasuke cursed to himself when he realized that his lack of chakra also made it extremely difficult for him to sense his surroundings. He was completely blinded and defenseless.
At this realization, his mind wandered back to the sound of Sakura's screams. He had to fight back the guilt that bubbled in his chest, when he grasped the fact that she was probably here because of her connection to him. The image of her bleeding and battered body lying on the ground of the Kusakagure forest flashed across his mind. Even after so many years, he still consistently endangered her and the thought of that brought along an uncomfortable feeling he wasn't yet ready to face.
As Sasuke grappled with his plethora of emotions and his current captive situation, the creaking of a metal door snapped him from his thoughts. Heavy footsteps accompanied the sound, getting louder as they drew closer to him. He counted the steps as they occurred, estimating the distance between him and a potential escape route. Because he probably wouldn't have enough chakra to summon his Susanoo or cast a space-time ninjutsu, he needed to plan an escape without them and he needed to plan one fast if he wanted to save Sakura.
Fuck, he thought as a foot kicked him roughly in the face. Unable to sense the attack coming, he took the hit with full force. The kick knocked him down from the sitting position he was in with his back against the wall and he landed harshly, with his face slamming against the floor. His wrist burned with pain as it was tugged against the handcuff and he could taste metal where his teeth cut into the insides of his cheeks.
Pushing himself up as best as he could using the stump of his left arm, he was only met again with another kick directly into his ribs. The impact briefly knocked the air from his lungs, leaving him to gasp for oxygen as blood dripped from his open mouth.
"The great Sasuke Uchiha, you don't seem to live up to your reputation," sounded a deep and gruff voice as the person speaking loomed above him.
Sasuke did not reply and another kick was delivered to his stomach, forcing him to fight desperately against the urge to vomit. Without his chakra, he was defenseless and fatigued, even the act of lifting his head seemed to send fire coursing through his veins.
"You should have rotted in jail years ago," there was a second person speaking now whom Sasuke missed the presence of while he was recovering from his assault. "Any other criminal would have but I guess it pays to know that useless Hokage."
The words rang in Sasuke's ear as they have been things that he repeated to himself over and over the past several years. He knew that he shouldn't have been released from the jail cell he was in after the war. It was only with Kakashi's help and the rest of the Konoha Eleven's testimonials that allowed him to walk as a free man.
"What? Nothing to say?" The first man spat as he grabbed hair from the back of Sasuke's head and lifted his face.
With a grimace, Sasuke growled, "Where is she?"
At his question, the two men released booming laughs that resounded against the empty walls of the room.
"Where is she?" Sasuke repeated, putting as much venom as he could into his voice.
The laughter only continued.
"I knew you were weak, but I didn't realize you were so weak that you couldn't spot genjutsu," one of the men taunted.
Sasuke scolded himself silently. He was so engrossed in the thought of Sakura being captured and tortured that he didn't even notice the miniscule discrepancies in the auditory genjutsu. He should have figured; the Sakura he knew who fought in the war would have never begged for him to save her that way. She would have been able to hold her own.
"Fucking pathetic," one of the men spat.
The grip on his hair was released as the man slammed Sasuke's head against the wall. Unable to keep his head lifted up, he let it hang limply forward, his chin pressing into his chest. His head spun and the muscles on his neck strained from the tension. It took all his energy not to groan; he wouldn't give them the satisfaction.
Hands suddenly grabbed him and he could feel the shackle on his wrist release. He was dragged across the room and towards another before being strapped in a vertical position against a cross. His arms were pulled horizontally and strapped against either arm of the cross, leaving him to hang there painfully, held upright only by the restraints on his right wrist and what remained of his left arm.
"You're going to pay for everything your brother did and you're going to feel every sin you Uchiha scum committed." the man spoke in a low, menacing voice. "You are going to endure the torture my brother did when Itachi put him under genjutsu—all 72 fucking hours of it and more."
The realization hit Sasuke like a ton of bricks. He recalled the way Kakashi described his experience under Itachi's genjutsu. How he was stabbed repeatedly for what felt like days when in reality, only mere minutes had passed.
The man brandished a sword, summoning chakra to the blade. With this technique, he could do as much damage as he wanted while the chakra immediately cauterized the wound and healed any punctured organs. It was the perfect weapon to recreate Itachi's genjutsu.
With unadulterated force, he plunged the weapon deep into Sasuke's stomach, twisting it painfully against his insides. Unable to hold it back any longer, Sasuke screamed.
