i want a scene where you see dean in the passenger seat of the impala and he’s writing in his journal talking about his parents, make some comment relating something that happened to them to the person he loves or something like that, then he looks over to the person in the drivers seat and says “hey, you wanna help me write this part?” and the camera pans over and this mysterious person he loves is revealed to be cas who then takes over to narrate for the episode

but he does now
and his hair is longer

Remember how goob REPEATEDLY claimed that WIndy was so far behind TW?? And how people like Dot & co went around repeating it like gospel??? And now here we are, WIndy cast and crew got their Thanksgiving break and STILL finished before Dec... And then we have TW... who had to work through Thanksgiving week and will probably still be filming for a few more weeks (they're listed through Dec 15th but with how far behind they seem I do wonder if they'll have to extend that..). Add yet another thing to the list of "the opposite of what goob said is true".
I enjoy listening to Goob's claims because I know I can always count on the exact opposite happening... which... it did, again! LOL!
I just feel bad for TW cast and crew for having to work through their holiday because the leadership couldn't get a decent story put together before filming.

Jensen clearly has a plan™ for Winchesters and we've barely seen it unfold. I wanna wait and see what he do before thinking about a spin off with Dean and Cas
Something tells me we're all gonna lose my minds.
Again.
He's so unhinged I love him
When that abomination of a finale first aired, and it was followed by Jackles sexy silence, I remember my friends and I speculated about how Jackles wouldnt accept that ending, how he was prob planning a reboot.
I think we predicted 6 years as a possible timeline for a spn reboot with Jackles running things.
So you can imagine how crazy we all got when he announced the production company and then The Winchesters. Barely a year after spn ended!
Whilst the premise for the prequel seemed dodge AF at first, my friends who watch it tell me every character is a Dean mirror and every story can be linked to Destiel, that its pretty obvs there is an agenda there.
So yeah I def agree Jackles has a plan and whatever it is, whenever it comes to fruition, its gonna break the fandom a la November 5th and I can't wait for that day.
I used to be so on the fence about jackles. He'd always make such stupid remarks in J2 panels that pissed me off, and everytime he'd act like a fucking frat boy with Jarpiss I lost a little more respect for him. Sometimes I wonder if it really was all a PR thing, that he had to play this role of "Jareds Brother". He was always so different, so much more relaxed at cockles panels, and this goes back years.
Its funny just how different he is now he's finally free from those asshole spn execs making him perform like a dancing monkey to "the brothers" brand. Its so obvious he's done with all that crap, and honestly, good for him.
Whatever jackles has in store for us in the coming years, I am sure it'll only add to the totally unparalleled media experience that is SPN.

I recently went down a rabbithole and came across some of the most idiotic nonsense I've ever seen.
Someone asked the blog I'm quoting below what they thought the reason for prequel gate was and I'm just flabbergasted at the insane armchair psychology presented as fact. This person clearly has no idea what co-depency actually means and yet they have a whole buch of posts spanning multiple years where they repeat this nonsense over and over again (newsflash: you can't diagnose people you've never even spoken to from afar).
Not to mention calling Jensen "under-functioning" or "low functioning" (and his parents too in some posts, it's genetic apparently /facepalm).
This person seems as insightful and trustworthy as goob to me, but because it isn't as immediately obvious by their writing style (compared to goob's barely comprehensible ramblings), people take them seriously and they have at least a small amount of followers who seem to believe every word they say.
(Though it seems to be mostly Jared stans who are only to happy to believe anything negative about Jensen, no matter how unqualified the source and how ridiculous the claims.)
I just can't roll my eyes hard enough:
"You'll find the answer to most of your questions in the codependency tag.  The short answer is Jensen was trying to be good enough for Jared by creating a project on his own without Jared's help or leadership.
Let's take out the codependency aspect and just look at basic male competitiveness even between friends.  Men go through the competition phase with each other in order to determine hierarchy and once that’s established, then they “reconcile” and move into the cooperate phase and even become loyal friends.  Nothing demonstrates this better than the Top Gun movies, which is actually about a love story between Maverick and Iceman.   "Frenemies" is not supposed to happen among men, instead it's more common among women because they go from competition to cooperation and back to competition.  Jensen is a bit under-functioning, so he goes back to competing with Jared even though Jared is not competing with him; there’s no need to change the hierarchy.  At the same time Jensen was competing for Jared in order to continue their Maverick and Iceman love story."
Let's talk about Goob for a second. Goob wants to present himself as a totes unbiased observer with super secret insider knowledge ... that just always ~*somehow*~ happens to validate that D/C is the center of the universe.
Not just fandom, but people at large? Have a tendency to question something far less to not at all when it agrees with what they already want to believe. The problem is, you don't just have to want to believe with Goob, you also have to get past how he writes in word-salad rants, makes factual statements/predictions that are proven directly indisputably false all the time, and throws out claims that are blatantly fantasyland batshit like Kripke stealing the YED from him or his having been personally involved in TW, is clearly wanting to bilk fandom for money - among other issues. Goob is so bad at what he's trying to do you have to be completely fucking desperate AND incredibly thick to continue to buy into it.
There are people in this fandom a lot better at it than Goob. Who can write a coherent paragraph. Who know how to flimflam enough to not directly say things like 'X [did/will] happen on Y date' which are easy to catch out as blatantly factually false - there's a lot of 'it's just my opinion (even though I keep stating it as fact)'! Who aren't obtuse enough to claim their super speshul insider knowledge is directly personally in SPN, just ~*the industry*~ in general that just so happens to tell them everything about how BTS on SPN must have operated in minute, exact detail!
So if, say, you already want to believe Jared is the center of the universe around which all existence revolves - even that of his own friends' who are just desperate to earn the approval of such an amazing godlike being they obviously can't help but feel inferior to in every possible way? You maybe don't notice the absurdity when somebody claims to be a fan of Jensen but constantly laments the fact he can't be so much smarter/more talented/business savvy/fashionable/whatever like Jared, woe! You maybe don't notice the double standard always leaning one way when somebody insists in one post that when X applies to Jared it proves he's popular/cool/savvy, and five posts later, X applying to Jensen proves that he's forgettable/lame/dumb, actually. You maybe don't notice when they spout off a bunch of psychobabble gibberish with no qualifications in the field on top of zero personal experience with the people they're incorrectly diagnosing. (Honestly, that one's even less noticeable because so many fans do it so cluelessly all over the place ... not as if that makes it better, but.)
The difference between them and Goob isn't a matter of what they're trying to do, it's a matter of basic competence in the attempt. Goob just can't help being so very Goob about everything - and again, even he has people willing to swallow it whole because they WANT the validation of it being true so so blindly. Conversely, no matter how competent anybody else's sleight-of-hand, they're only going to distract the audience who already agree with their underlying agenda from being able to see the light catch on the wires.

Jared's very diplomatic answer. I thing their friendship is still being tested by the whole prequel mess. They have plenty of reasons to remain close but JA has pushed the line before...
Honestly I didn't expect to have spn drama in 2022.
LOL he deflected and dodged the question like a pro!
He said a lot by not saying anything about the prequel.
Yup, Jensen has pushed and tested Jared's boundaries many times.
I expected SPN drama to last about 5 years but Jensen is messing up my prediction, and not in a clever way. He's like the red-headed stepbrother of Loki.

huh. Jensen does say "in that moment" quite repeatedly. I guess I'm holding some hope to that, maybe I'm a massive clown or maybe I'm reading something off people's unspoken words but er... Can you please think of me if (and that's a big if, I know) something like this become true?
Don't feel the need to answer this in any way although I won't mind if you did. I just wanted to leave my hopeful and somehow uncharacteristically certain prediction on this matter, and I wanted to do that to you because I felt like you would not just dismiss it without giving it a cursory read nor consider this too seriously. Just let it wander in the mist of your deeply vast subconscious and come back to it if anything even remote to this comes true in the next... six months. That's what I'm asking.
Just to be clear, what I'm reading: Jensen is extremely cautious about being explicit on how Dean thinks of his love to Cas after the confession & face-in-hands scene. I (while risking immense ridicule from what seems to be the majority of the current fandom) think this might be because there's something in the prequel about that, and it may be that Dean came to realize that his love to Cas was romantic (not necessarily sexual) after he passed the initial shock of Castiel being gone and him losing someone who's "like" his brother.
Fits nicely with how he never really answered the original question, "what would have Dean said to Cas if he had the time to process what Cas had said?" (= what would Dean have thought of Cas' confession after some time? = exactly what Jensen's trying to avoid answering, multiple times by now) and instead answered "how he played Dean in that moment."
i also thought he mentioned in the moment a little more than i would expect. i mean i honestly think dean wouldn’t be able to process that much information at one time especially knowing that his best friend was about to be taken from him forever and you’ve just found out about it. and they were already in such a tense situation.
and after that i think that would probably be the biggest regret of his life. not saying anything to this man who confessed his love for him and left him forever, and he couldn’t even say anything back. he didn’t really get a proper goodbye, which wasn’t rectified in the last two episode’s besides the tiny ‘cas helped’ which was 😕 i mean at least that meant he was out of the empty but it just left more questions than answers.
and considering jensen will never be done with dean, as he has said himself, and likely supernatural too. i mean, the prequel having dean in it speaks for itself. jensen hasn’t accepted dean’s death, and rightfully so.
though i don’t expect there to be anything destiel in the prequel, i do believe cas may be there in some capacity. and just this last weekend jensen said ‘when we do the reboot’ and ‘when we come back from heaven’ so i know he isn’t done with cas’ story either. he doesn’t plan to expand the spn universe solely with the winchesters. so i don’t doubt we’ll get cas back someday.
perhaps not destiel in the prequel, i think personally i’d be getting my hopes up a bit too high for that. though if we see/hear/hear of them interacting that’s definitely okay with me.

last chance to get out our predictions for the spn prequel

The Ackles better hope that their NYCC panel doesn’t make its way to the internet, they do not come off well together. My current predictions are that Jensen will do most of the talking, stumbling and stuttering through vague half answers and going off topic in an attempt to distract from the disaster that is his vanity project prequel. The cast won’t really talk, and when they do it will be all about how cool everything is- their characters are so cool, Jensen and Danneel are so cool, SPN fans are so cool, etc. With Danneel it can go one of two ways. Either Upfronts part II: she’ll sit by Jensen and be awkwardly silent the whole time, going between looking like a haunted wax figure who is anywhere but there mentally and staring at Jensen “lovingly” when she thinks camera are on her. She’ll try to remind everyone that she’s Jensen’s wife by bringing up the kids and their parenting, it will fall flat because no one outside of a few rabid stans care, then she’ll go back to being silent once she doesn’t get the attention she was craving. Or she’ll try to make everything about her and she won’t stop hogging the camera or speaking time like she did at the SPN 300th episode celebration, 2018 PaleyFest, promo for the Hilarie’s Hallmark Christmas movie…I have to stop here because there’s too many to list. Prior to Upfronts she was so obnoxious whenever there was an opportunity for her to get a scrap of attention.
Spon on analysis, Anon. I think someone savvy may have advised Danneel to tone it down because she's always been awful and offbrand on interviews. She's clueless about the industry and it really shows in the answers she gives. Though she may try to manipulate interviewers by flirting or fake niceties, her lack of authenticity ends up offputting people. I'm sure she'll attempt to brag in some way, that's why she's going in the first place. 🤣 Even the outfits she picks scream "I desperately need your attention"

okay, final predictions for the finale rant/ramble/whatever you want
Questions answered
i don’t believe literally everything is going to be answered simply bc there has to be a balance when you don’t know if you’re gonna get another season. i personally believe that there has to be a balance of some questions answered with some still remaining simply bc for every percent of a chance you have of NOT continuing, you have a chance OF continuing.
So here are the questions i think will get answered:
We’ll figure out where they are in terms of space and time
We’ll figure out a LITTLE bit as to why Dean is doing what he’s doing
We’ll figure out who the Akrida Queen is
Here are some of my musings going into the finale:
I personally believe everything is taking place in The Empty. If you’re new around here, I am a BIIIIIIIG subscriber of the Chuck Won theory, and in order for this theory to work in my head, I need it so that Dean was never actually in Heaven when it came to 15x20. Neither was Cas.
It’s my personal opinion, and I’ve chatted about this on @endofthebookpod with @jewishdeanwinchester and @evergreencowboy who also have brought this idea up, so i guess it’s a collective opinion lmao, that this is all taking place in the empty.
There’s also the First Draft theory that @evergreencowboy has mentioned on the podcast way back in the beginning and that we keep mentioning because it can also coexist and blend with the theory that they’re all in the empty.
I think theories of this taking place in The Empty were solidified with the last episode and Limbo and the circus and all that. Fake happiness, accepting and processing reality to snap out of it and break free, etc etc.
So yes, I do believe they’re in The Empty. I’ve been hoping that Dean’s been in The Empty for a long long while, even before the show, given the Chuck Won theory. It will make me SO happy if this is where this is all taking place.
I don’t believe Cas will be seen.
This may be an unpopular opinon but I don’t want any Destiel reciprocation on screen until the continuation. I personally want the prequel to exist as its own thing with some character development for Dean in the background.
Now, I don’t mind parallalels and threads to Destiel — we’ve even gotten those already — and I don’t mind Dean mourning or mentioning Cas. But, I physically don’t want to see him until there’s an Empty rescue primed and ready to happen in the continuation.
I am aware of the fact that Cas is awake in the Empty, everyone and everything is, however it feels like it’s too soon to reunite Dean and Cas on screen and I wouldn’t want that happening on a spin-off — i need it to happen in a continuation.
However, it would be very sweet if there were mentions/threads/insinuations to the relationship/how dean feels, etc etc — with just the knowledge that Cas doesn’t know it yet.
But, above all else, I really want this show to exist as its own thing and as world building and rule building for how the Empty works if that’s indeed where they are. The Empty has virtually no rules for its existence other than a select few from OG SPN so if this is indeed The Empty, a pocket universe inside The Empty, what have you — then I would hope that more rules are established for it.
Questions remaining
Here are my questions remaining and that IDK if they’ll get answered in the finale but I’m okay if they aren’t
Why is Carlos so associated with death imagery?
Was John talking with anyone when he ‘died’ for a hot second in the vampire episode? And if so, who?
Who is The Witness? [I think if they’re real it’s either Chuck or it’s Dean]
Are these the real John and Mary?
What exactly are the Akrida? Does The Empty hold them and since Jack woke everything up, they’re out and about?
Are Gabriel, Chuck, and Rowena OUR Gabriel, Chuck and Rowena? Or are they actually from the 70s? [my guess is that they are ours, and that’s why we’re in The Empty]
Is Betty an Angel?
Why does Dean have the samulet dangling from his car?
Why isn’t Sam there?
Where TF is Deanna?
--
Okay I think that’s it for now. I probably have more.
But lord I’m so excited for tonight.

Ok so I just sent a really good thing to my friend that I think my spn mutuals would like
The spn thing I was talking about. So there's this one episode in season 15 called atomic cats or something like that (15x04), and this was one of my favourites of the whole season (and honestly the whole show), because it breaks down what a Supernatural episode "should" be, and how the pressure of the fandom affects the writing of the show. Basically, it runs mostly like a stock season 1-3 episode, with a vampire as the monster of the week, but interspersed throughout the boring episode is scenes of Chuck and Becky having a conversation about the latest book Chuck is writing. These are all metaphors, with Chuck representing the writing team of spn, Becky representing the fandom, and the books representing spn itself (trust me, this is very well and not subtly established in previous episodes). Chuck, who we the audience know is God at this point, is expressing to Becky his frustration with writing endings that satisfy everyone without being too predictable, and ends up writing an ending that Becky thinks is really boring and doesn't fit with the show, saying "there's no classic rock, nobody even *mentions* cas!", And then Chuck sits down to write another ending. In the context of the actual episode itself, Becky is talking about the story with the vampire, and the episode reflects this, with the story significantly changing after this conversation. However, you can also apply this to season 15 as a whole, especially the finale 15x20, which has very little classic rock, and no mentions of Castiel, overall not fitting with the rest of the season or show as a whole. So this is either some massive foreshadowing OR it's the director of the episode expressing that they don't like the finale because they don't think it fits with the story. Now here's the plot twist that broke my brain this morning. The director of this episode is JENSEN ACKLES, the same Jensen Ackles that is now making a prequel series that seems to invalidate this finale, and the same Jensen Ackles that has expressed so much disappointment in the finale since it aired. I think this episode was Jensen saying that he doesn't like the finale and implicitly warning people that it was going to be bad

The problem with Hellers was/is that they rely on their assumptions, ''theories'' that they come up with, ''analyses'' of things like lighting, shot angles, and ''meta'' & ''subtext'' etc rather than focusing on the actual story that was being told to us.
They essentially built a whole new narrative that they came up with and wrote several ''analyses'' on that new narrative that they created. Their 'meta' had the same reason and point. By writing those meta, they were/are essentially trying to make their new created narrative reasonable. Because after all, not all Hellers' analyses and detailed meta essays can be wrong, right? In their logic it is like, ''Don't you see the theories/analyses/meta that we have? How something this detailed and ''intelligently'' analysed can be wrong????''
Then they were and are building a community, an echo chamber surrounding it. They posted their ''meta analyses'' on tumblr or elsewhere, and then trying to make other people believe in those analyses. They take stuff/scenes out of context from the show to prove their point. The slowed-down gif sets, the irrelevant ''bi lighting'' stuff, their trying to dig underneath the real narrative and actual story to find something that supposedly 'supports' their reasoning and meta analyses.... and so on so forth.
It is also not so great when other people who have not watched SPN believe in those things. Because like. They are being led to believe in things that do not even canonically exist in the show.
It also creates false perception, and overall toxic fandom experience when it comes to the point that Hellers lash out to people, even to the cast members like Jensen for supposedly 'being homophobic' just because those people/cast members do not believe in Hellers' so ''intelligent'' meta analyses.
It is also very tiring and... quite irritating and unhealthy when this is still ongoing even after at least 10 freaking years... People still believe in the stuff they come up with, or believe in their own delusions. They think Destiel is or will be made canon... somewhere, somehow, in some year, in some future. Oh, it is definitely going to be a thing in the prequel. Or somehwere in the future in another show for sure.
If it is not ''canon'', then it still is acually canon due to the '''obvious parallels'' the prequel puts on screen!!!!! But it is also queerbaiting because the show didn't show Castiel and Dean fucking on screen. and so on so forth....
This level of reasoning won't end. It will continue to exist even after years. Because it is something that is embedded in the Hellers community.
I agree completely. Except I am equal parts exasperated and fascinated by it. Just the whole process of how people get sucked into believing in something that's so patently false and as a group dig down to become so entrenched in that belief seemingly no amount of reality can shake it.
The giant house of cards that is their meta, where supposedly it's this epic narrative built over time - but if you examine any/every individual piece in its original context, the whole thing falls in on itself. The obvious logical fallacy where all their theories start by assuming D/C has to be made canon and work backwards to determine what can be used as evidence effectively ignoring most of the show. How its literally always the lighting or set dressing or some exhausting meta about real meaning of bacon and never anything in the explicit narrative telling the supposedly existent story. How literally the only person involved in making the show that eggs them on to insist it's intentionally part of the show is the guy who has ship-themed crap to sell them. If you look at it with any degree of objectivity, it's absolutely, obviously bonkers.
And yet.
Year after year, failed prediction after failed prediction, end of the show included? Here they still are, actively insisting that even though SPN is over, RC/TW/a reboot will show us all that it's REALLY REAL.
