In Support of Spirit Matchmaking Services 👻
A year or two ago, I wrote up and published a pretty nasty, scathing post about my thoughts on spirit conjure shops. I think I outright called most of them scams, honestly. This came from a very biased, emotionally driven point of view. I had gone through a bad experience with a conjuror (who will remain unnamed) and wound up using that as a reason to find every single negative aspect about conjure shops and spirit matchmaking services.
Tumblr media
Since then, I have grown further as a spirit worker, removed myself from a few social circles, and met several great spirits through the help of a conjuror who runs and curates their own business.
I think its important to be able to acknowledge when my opinions on something so broad come from a place of bias, so, I’m going to share my new thoughts here.
One of my biggest arguments against conjurors who sell spirits, was that it was unethical to put up a living entity for sale.
Where it stands, I still agree with this. If you have FORCE BOUND A SPIRIT to some ring, necklace, or whatever, and you are putting them up for sale without their input? Yeah. That is fucked and you should feel bad. However, after a few conversations, I’ve learned that this point is how you vet an ethical spirit conjuror, versus an unethical one.
A proper spirit conjuror makes a point that their potential clients understand one thing: the spirits that they conjuror have free will, are capable of exiting any relationship that they are not happy or comfortable in, and are not bound to a contract that they have not agreed with.
These conjurors are not selling the spirit; they are putting a dollar amount on their time spent conjuring, vetting, purchasing offerings for the spirit, maintaining a website, maintaining communication with the spirit’s potential human companion, and so on so forth.
Tumblr media
The best comparison I could make to this, is paying for a dating app. When we sign up for a website like eHarmony, Bumble, OkCupid, etc., people are being paid in the background to maintain those websites, and in turn, some of us are paying for the premium membership to make it easier to find potential match ups.
That does not mean the people working for eHarmony and all of these other websites are selling living beings. They are being paid to facilitate that potential match.
As a conjuror myself, I know the amount of work it goes into seeking out a spirit, vetting them for safety, and bonding with them. That does not even factor in the money spent on offerings.
Now what happens when a conjuror wants to help facilitate a connection with someone who does not have the time, energy, or interest in perfecting this work? Do they not have the right to charge a fee for the time and energy spent to help make this connection?
A conjuror has every right to charge for their services, just as a tarot reader should ask to be paid for their readings, an energy work charging for their healing sessions, and so on so forth.
Tumblr media
So what type of fee should someone expect to pay someone to conjure, vet and connect them with a spirit companion?
Honestly? It is up to you to decide what you’re willing to pay. But, take a few things into consideration:
Let’s say that you ask your conjuror to connect you with a dragon spirit. But not just any dragon spirit, you want this spirit to be light aligned, with knowledge on the healing arts, and you want this dragon to be female with a calm temperament.
Factor in the amount of time it may take for this conjuror to find this exact spirits. They may come across a dozen or so dragons, but, these dragons might not fit what you are asking for.
And when they finally come across a potential fit, a proper conjuror would give a run down on what they have learned of the spirit thus far, ask if you are interested in it, and THEN they proceed with weeks or months of vetting.
Now, let’s say that your conjuror vets for a minimum of three months, and they are working with your spirit for about an hour a day, four days a week.
That is 48 hours of work. If you were to pay the USA’s federal minimum wage of $7.25 at that rate, that is $348.
I rarely see spirit conjure shops charging anywhere NEAR that much.
Actually, I think the most I ever spent on a conjure was $120.
That means your conjuror is paying themselves less than minimum wage most of the time.
Tumblr media
My point then?
I’ve learned to respect people who do this for a living, or even as a side job. It’s hard work, and I’ve seen several people who are helping WAY more than one person at a time with their matchmaking.
Does that mean that ALL conjure shops are legitimate, avoiding cultural appropriation, and ethical? Of course not, but that is another post for another day. (And frankly, the shops full of red flags are largely not on Tumblr.)
There ARE legitimate spirit matchmaking businesses out there though! And if you have the opportunity to give them a try, you might find yourself surprised by how great of an experience you have.

Mika the celestial rabbit shifter {Werewolf}
Tumblr media
Nickname: Mika
Species: Celestial Rabbit Shifter
Pronouns: she/her
Gender: female
Alignment: light arts
Likes: TikTok, warm days, fluffy clouds, sweets, pastel colors, children, having adventures
Dislikes: Bigotry, people who are abusive to animals, dark monotone colors, when snow turns to slush
Sexuality: Gray-asexual biromantic
Favorite color: Gold
Favorite animal: Barn owls
Favorite Song: Ocean Eyes by Billie Eilish
Personality: Mika is an absolute spitfire. She’s full of energy and joyful in such a way that it makes you giddy. She is loud and bouncy and doesn’t like to sit still for too long. She has a huge heart and a bright smile. She is a big sister type to those she cares about, and is fiercely protective of people she loves. She is genuine and sweet and wants nothing more than to bring joy and smiles and maybe even a giggle or two. However, she is not shy about calling you out if you’re doing something dumb. She isn’t just sunshine and smiles, though. She is intelligent and loves to learn about anything and everything.
Physical description: Mika has two forms, a rabbit form and a humanoid form. In her rabbit form, she is pure white with long ears and small wings with yellow-gold tips. Her eyes are a soft gold. In her humanoid form, she is slightly small, about 5’2 with a slight frame. She has wispy pale blonde hair and dainty features. Her skin is pale with soft pink undertones. She likes to wear flowy, flouncy dresses or cute outfits like overalls with a sweater. She primarily stays in her rabbit form.
Companion requirements: She would be happy to become companions with a beginner (or someone more experienced if she really clicks with them). She would really like to be companions with a beginner so that they can both learn about companionship along the way. She also is very friendly and talkative and would prefer someone who can match her energy level. She doesn’t mind being someone’s first companion, but she doesn’t want to be the only companion forever. She would prefer a medium to large family, as long as she still gets the attention she needs.
Mika came into Mod Werewolf’s care just over two years ago. She was conjured by another (former) shop owner and a friend of Werewolf’s. Mika joined Werewolf to help them get better at vetting but stayed with them when their friend stopped spirit work. Mika has been patiently looking forward to finding her perfect companion.
Mika would prefer a vessel! She would like something cute and small that is easy to transport (like a stuffed animal or crystal).
If you would like to apply for Mika you can do so here

When I was in my twenties I sat down with a journal and wrote a letter to spirit about who I wanted to love through a list of physical, vocational, and personality attributes and characteristics, similar to little Sally in Practical Magic, though I had not yet seen the movie at the time. The universe delivered exactly what I asked for with terrifying accuracy. As the years pass by, that accuracy reveals itself to me more and more.
The first mistake I made was that I did not specify that I wanted the person I would come to love..to love me back. I sometimes wonder how things would have turned out had I written that down. The second mistake I made was that I referenced a fictional character and said I hoped he’d be “like” him. Naively, I did not specify that I wanted nothing to do with the horribly cruel attributes that archetype possessed and only sought the good. The cruelty inflicted on me broke me to my core, made me suicidal, cost me tens of thousands of dollars, humiliated me, silenced me, kept me hidden, caused me to endure the loss of a child, the loss of friends, the loss of two jobs, damaged my relationship with my daughter, and extinguished my spirit. What I manifested impacted not just myself, but the lives of every person that has ever loved me, some who simply just knew me, and even some who never crossed my path.
In another dimension, my higher self and a team of spiritual elders have orchestrated all of this for my higher good. They heard (or rather read) my call. Karmic justice is always being served. I know that despite my suffering, I have always been divinely protected. I learned how to speak and interpret the language and symbolism of spirit, to become a shape-shifter, to rebuild from nothing, to transmute my pain into prosperity, the meaning and feeling of unconditionally loving someone, how to conjure multi-dimensional beings, that we all have the spirit of the phoenix laying dormant within us and the power to awaken it whenever we choose, and perhaps most importantly, to be careful what I wish for.

Cologne And Perfumes In Your Practice.
Tumblr media
Now in my previous post I spoke on spiritual colones, waters like Florida Water and their uses and while this is one way to use it, there are other ways to tap into the power of these products. When looking at colognes and perfumes, try not to see them as just fragrances. They were made from herbs, resins, and oils in an alcohol base.
Beside Florida Water, Rose Water Cologne or Kananga Water there are other colognes and perfumes that are made to be used for spirits deities and workings. It's not enough to buy a spiritual perfume and begin using it.
To get the most out of them, they need to be consecrated. This means that you need to declare what the purpose of the perfume is and going to be used for. This can be something like, "I dedicate this perfume to drawing prosperity into my life." You also need to meditate & pray over it, giving it the power to do what it's is intended for.
If you choose, you can ask your guides, angels, saints, or deities for help to make it more effective at whatever you want it to do for you. Basically you're making an holy item or spiritual item.
Colognes Perfumes As Offerings: while many deities have their own type of offering that is giving to them, these colognes could be good to be used as a wash to honor your deity or spirit. Other deities like receiving perfumes that contain their favorite ingredients like Ezurli or any love deity, that created specifically for them.
Scents Used In Your Space: Perfumes and colognes are placed on the body to give their properties to the wearer, they can be added to washes or sprinkled around the boundary of a place. Like Saint Michael.
Saint Michael for instance a perfume dedicated to him can be used to help fortify your home and protect those within it and also be used as a offering to him on his fest day. Use it as a floor wash, or sprinkling around the perimeter.
Using It In A Ritual Bath: Sometimes, adding perfume to rituals might be a good idea. If you perform a healing ritual that involves drawing a bath, for example, you may choose to add Saint Lazarus perfume to the water while praying for healing.
Working Bath For St Lazarus: Useing natural water not faucet water, you don't really know what's in it. ( Rain Water is good). Add a little St Lazarus cologne or use a St Lazarus wash or both is fine too. You can add his oil if you choose. Add that to the bowl of water, place his colored candle in the middle of the bowl and light it. This we'll get St. Lazarus attention, then pray his prayer and tell him what you need. Let it burn. After use that water as a wash by pouring it starting from the top of your head on down.
Perfumes as Spiritual Food Just as perfumes can be given as offerings to spirits, they can also be offered to mojo's, washes, dolls, crystal etc. If a liquid is called for in a ritual, often a cologne or perfume can be used or added to it to power the liquid with its properties.
List Of Some Of These Perfume/Cologne.

The Potters
Little Halloween microfic, inspired by The Conjuring 👻😘 Thank @cluelesspigeons for beta reading it 😎
Harry sensed the house was evil. As soon as they stepped inside, his body vibrated in a bad way, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on edge.  He kept a polite smile as he greeted the family, though. The poor woman wasn't aware of the ghost behind her, one hand gripping her shoulder like a predator with its prey.
"Welcome! Thank you for coming," the husband said as he shook Draco's hand.
"Your wife told us about some problems with the house?" Draco asked as he looked around.
Harry listened to their story, distracted. Frames had fallen off the wall. Weird smells had been filling the house at night. And every night, at exactly two forty-six, three bangs could be heard echoing around the house. Apparently, the bangs continued until the early hours of dawn.  Draco explained his suspicions that the knocks were probably to curse the Holy Trinity and immediately the couple gasped.
Harry wandered further  in the house and as he headed to the kitchen, he saw three little girls. They were scared to death, half of their meal still on the table in front of them, almost untouched.
"Hello!" Harry smiled. "I'm Harry. Harry Potter."
"Are you going to help us?" the youngest girl asked, hugging her teddy tightly.
"I will." He nodded. "And who are you?"
"This is Emma, the oldest," the mother, Gina, answered instead, "Stella and Tina are the youngest."
The girls sat up proudly. Harry smiled with joy at them when suddenly the shadow appeared behind the children, more specifically, behind Tina. Though they acted as if they couldn’t see it. The whole family was joking and the children were laughing.
Harry glanced at Draco. "I need some fresh air," Harry said.
"Come back in five. I'm preparing for the interview." Draco sat down on a chair, putting his bag on the table.
Harry took a big breath in as he walked outside, closing his eyes to take it all in. The house felt so stuffy inside. The ghost, the demon, had taken it all. And it wouldn’t leave the family.
His heartbeat didn’t want to calm down. Harry knew he had to help. Even if after many years, after their last exorcism, he had promised himself to never do that again. He couldn’t help it. He had to protect these children.
He walked back inside the house, trying hard to not let the evilness take him, and sat beside his husband.
“Ready?” Draco asked everybody in the kitchen. The children were somewhere else, probably in the living room.
“Whenever you are,” Harry said.
He didn’t know that this interview would be the beginning of a long and hard journey for the family, and for himself. The demon looked directly at him, dark circles under itswhite eyes, saliva dripping from  his thin lips as his crooked smile revealed sharps and red teeth. Harry had never seen this in his entire life. The demon was horrible.
They needed to prove it to the church and they needed to do it quickly.
Before it was too late.

"well chat... death comes to everybody... but just because our loved ones are gone, doesn't mean that they're gone-gone"
Now I'm no grim reaper myself nor a medium. But. To hear this and to also have seen something where two people have such a strong energy that spirits can talk through them. And when asked what the spirits want to say to the world, they say "We're okay". To just know that there's some sort of afterlife is. bittersweet to say the least

A Boo Hag is a creature of the night, a skinless monster with red muscles, prominent blue veins, and eyes that reflect light like a cat’s. Sometimes it’s depicted with flowing white hair, like the hair that “grows” on corpses that led many older generations to believe the vampires were coming from the dead to feed. (Hair and fingernails seem to “grow” on corpses because, as the skin dehydrates, the nails and hair look longer).
The Boo Hag looks human during the day because it cloaks itself with its previously unlucky victim’s skin. At night, it escapes the skin and goes looking for its next victim. It can slip inside through any crack in a window or a crevice in a wall. Once inside, it finds you sleeping in your bed and crawls on top of you. It sucks the air from your lungs as you sleep, “riding” you until sun-up when it escapes to its hidden skin suit.
Painting the Haint Blue on windowsills, shutters, doorways, and even the verandas’ ceilings kept the spirits and Boo Hags away. The color would cause confusion, as a ghost would think they had stumbled into a body of water (which they cannot cross) or stepped out into the open sky and would be swept away by the wind or killed by the sun. It was a cheap and relatively easy way to keep away spirits out for blood, bodies, and death.
Haint Blue is a color found at your local hardware store, and it’s common to see it painted onto the ceilings of covered porches of new construction with no one knowing the story behind the hue. It’s believed to bring calm and make spaces feel more extensive than they are. That’s why you sometimes see old houses with bright blue shutters, roofs, and fences; it’s keeping out the evil spirits while allowing the good ones to stay and guide the younger generations.

The Souls Within Spanish Moss.
Tumblr media
Here in the Southern U.S states, our old trees have this spiderweb-like plant called Spanish moss aka (old man's beard) some say. It's really not a moss at all. But It grows from Louisiana, all the way to Virginia even through some of South Carolina I read, basically anywhere there a lot of moister. Even Native Americans used it for medicine. This is the kind of plant that gives the south a Gothic look, that is shown is seen in a bunch of movies and Tv shows.
This Moss absorbed the humidity and helps keep the heat bearable. Some Slave families would sit under those trees to rest. Some people with Gullah heritage would celebrate their, or Congolese people in Louisiana gathered by a big tree with moss to celebrate their hopes, dream. You can probably imagine the amount of spirits of slaves that still have their hearts, souls and struggles in the moss, The men & women who built these plantations all those years ago.
Spanish Moss In Magical Practices. In Voodoo & Hoodoo practicers Some use spanish moss for positive and negativity workings. It absorbs the energy that the practicer gives to it. This moss can be used to create dolls like our voodoo dolls here in New Orleans. Its added to bottles of War Water & Snake Oil. (See my posts on both) It can be used to create a protection oil or wash. Therefore, Spanish moss have magic properties that is used in southern hoodoo & voodoo traditions alike.
How to Work with Spanish Moss in Your Magick First, If you buy or collect your Spanish moss yourself wash it, Sometimes It can have small pests/ bugs, ants etc that lives with in it. And I would know I got bit by fire ants years ago collecting some.😁 Now after it's clean let it dry.
Ways That It's Used. Stuffed into dolls for workings, used to make War water, Stuffed into herbal pillows. Put in spell bottles. Attached to ceremonial clothing. Use on the altar as a representation of the South and traditional hoodoo. There's many ways to use it.
The Legend of Spanish Moss and the Princess’ Hair In Florida. I read a old Native legend about how Spanish moss began and I wanted to share it. There was a Native Princess who fell in love with a Spanish soldier. Her father, the chief, forbade her to see her true love. The story is tragic – the Princess hangs herself by a tree when she realizes her father had her true love killed. Her hair stayed in the tree and continued to grow, becoming what we call Spanish moss. Another variation of this legend tells the tale of an old man who’s long beard is caught in the trees and becomes Spanish moss.
