ok, I'm too cowardly to actually reply to your post about Rolan/ Dammon headcannons/ prompts but here are a few:

Rolan:

-He finally gets to be hero, he saves Tav from some scenario and when Tav is thanking him he has no idea what to do with himself.

-Cal and Lia being siblings and absolutely embarrassing him anytime Tav is around. (Sharing embarrassing but endearing stories from when they were younger, hinting at his feelings for Tav, making kissy faces from behind Tav when he's trying to have a conversation.)

-Also, I just have a feeling that he's a jealous green monster whenever someone who isn't any one the companions try and talk to Tav.. especially if its another wizard.

Dammon:

-Him trying to muster up the courage to ask Tav out when he has his shop in Baulders Gate.

-Dammon would 100% be the type who wants to court someone the 'proper' way, but could be convinced otherwise.

-He seems like he would act like a love sick puppy when he's in love.

Rolan 

[Cal & Lia embarrassing him around Tav]

The three of them have a super close bond underneath all the bickering. So the absolute second Rolan catches feelings, Cal & Lia smell blood in the water

Honestly they probably catch it before Rolan admits him to himself

When Lia starts to drop hints or Cal asks if he’s gotten up the nerve to kiss them yet, Rolan is like "what? stop being stupid"

But then he turns away & checks in with himself for a second & he's like "oh fuck"

Rolan makes an effort to only interact with Tav far away from his home, his workplace, the general vicinity of his neighborhood in Baldur’s Gate—basically avoiding anywhere they might run into his sister or brother. They already make him nervous enough

But once they start getting closer he also really wants to bring them home, so at some point, he’ll suck it up and face this potential trainwreck head-on

His siblings make light conversation over dinner about what Tav’s been doing or working on lately. Lia’s like “oh yeah Rolan mentioned that, you know he talks about you a lot, like all the time”

Tav’s hand silently taking his under the table is the only thing that could distract Rolan from snapping back

Somehow, Rolan is even more embarrassed when his siblings start genuinely reminiscing and telling Tav stories about the three of them growing up in Elturel

He’ll chime in if Tav asks him a question, but otherwise he’s pretty quiet. Rolan doesn’t want them to think about him as a refugee or an orphan

In his mind, he still thinks he needs to be powerful and significant in order to truly deserve Tav’s affection

If Rolan paid any attention, he’d realize that Cal and Lia talking up what a stubborn, protective big brother he’s always been is putting stars in Tav’s eyes

He’s so fucking jealous and it drives him crazy

Rolan likes controlling the narrative, keeping any vulnerability under control & well hidden from others, etc.

Falling in love with Tav creates a big complication in the way he usually operates

Once he’s master of Ramazith’s Tower, he has a certain amount of social obligations—hosting members of the wizarding community, professional gatherings, etc

And Tav is an integral part of his life now, so they'll always be involved to some extent

Midway through the evening, Rolan glances across the room and sees one of his colleagues talking much closer than he'd like to his beloved. As he watches, their hand actually reaches out to touch Tav’s elbow

Whatever he's doing or whoever he's conversing with is abandoned without ceremony

Rolan does that thing where he casually walks up to join the conversation and places a hand on the small of Tav's back, just resting there with a slight smile as he pretends to listen. But he’s staking his claim

In his head the gesture means step the fuck back, this person is with me. It’s honestly about as subtle as a sledgehammer

After they're finally alone again he'll probably want to fuck Tav on his desk or against one of the bookstacks in the Tower

Capturing them for himself and hearing them moan his name and making sure they know they’re his

He’s been really glad their paths have converged here and there along the way, but nothing could make him prouder than when Tav comes to visit the Forge of Nine Hells in the city

Dammon is completely in his element in Baldur’s Gate

He’s pretty modest and down-to-earth, but he feels a swell of pride when Tav finally sees him running a proper forge. It’s how he always hoped they’d see him

And is it just his imagination, or does he see them…often? Almost every day they’re dropping by for one reason or the other, and they seem to linger to chat and watch him work

The hints that they’re interested are all Dammon needs to start working up his courage to make a move

He's alone and tied to his work most of the day, which gives his mind ample time to run through different options

Getting the timing right drives him a little crazy. So often Tav is in a hurry, or with their companions, or he's got a rush commission that he has to get finished

When he finally finds the moment, he’ll probably come right out with it & ask them out for a drink. He wants something simple where they can talk, plus smithing is thirsty work

When Tav agrees with a smile, Dammon drops everything, his leather apron snagging as he pulls it over his horns in his haste to get going

Gathers his courage and puts an arm around their shoulders as they walk

With anyone else Dammon would be self-conscious about how he smells like iron and smoke and sweat all the time. But if anyone can look past it it’s Tav, with everything they’ve been through

A feeling that's confirmed when they lean further into him with a laugh

The definition of devoted

He would 100% be that type of boyfriend who likes to be always touching Tav when they’re close

Prefers to rest his hand on their hip while they’re side by side, maybe on the curve of their ass if he can get away with it. The contrast against the doting look in his eye is classic Dammon—sweet and hot 

It's not a possessiveness thing, and he'd tone it down if Tav asked, he's just super into them & touching them feels natural

Just in general, he loves telling Tav yes and has a very hard time telling them no

At the end of the day, Dammon likes to pull Tav down to sit on his lap and talk about their days. He might stroke their hair or rub their back while he listens, just helping his love relax at the end of a long day

Dammon’s used to being a single bachelor and taking care of himself, but he discovers that he adores when Tav does little things to dote on him or pamper him

One night he comes home with the usual soot stains on his skin and ache in his shoulders to find that Tav has drawn him a warm, pleasant-smelling bath. Ignoring any mild protests, Tav insists on helping him peel off his sweaty layers and sink in, then loosens his knot of hair to gently lather and wash his locks. The feel of Tav’s fingers and nails massaging his scalp is the most loving, tender thing. Dammon feels like he could fall asleep right right there in the water under their hands

He calls Tav all kinds of pet names: darling, love, dearest, gorgeous, sometimes angel if he's feeling especially whipped

Eclipse Character Analysis (Sun and Moon Show)

Alternate Title: Why I'm 95% sure Eclipse is a sociopath EDITED TITLE: An Analysis of how Eclipse's ASPD is reflected in his character

A hopefully unnecessary disclaimer: - One, hi, hello I am a sociopath, I do know what I'm talking about. This also means that a lot of what I notice and will describe about Eclipse are similar or the same as my own experiences living life in this mortal realm. What I will touch on in the "redemption" section is heavily based on the kind of intensive treatment I had to get in order to improve my behavior when I was younger, so it's important to note that while Eclipse will never be able to change his personality (like how I can't change mine, and you can't change yours), he can change his thought patterns, mentality, and behavior. The saying that "sociopaths can't change" is specifically talking about how we can't change our personality, which is true for everyone. That doesn't mean we can't learn to function better in civilized society or be taught emotional awareness and morals. - Two, hi, hello this is just what I've noticed and does not mean it's canon unless Reed or Davis themselves come onto my Tumblr and go "Yes, this, this is what is correct", and even then, you're allowed to have your own opinions and views on these characters. I'm just theorizing here EDIT: Reed and Davis confirmed that Eclipse is indeed a sociopath a day after I posted this here, and a week after my initial post in their server that is basically this but slightly messier. - Three, hi, hello I'm also a psychology student so I also know what I'm talking about in that regard too. Putting Him Under a Microscope - Full Analysis

1. Attachment and Pride:

Eclipse's initial connection with Lunar suggests a potential attachment, a notable aspect in individuals with ASPD who can form (highly) selective bonds. However, Lunar's departure significantly impacts Eclipse's pride. This reaction aligns with the fragile self-esteem often observed in those with ASPD. The departure becomes a perceived personal betrayal, triggering Eclipse's defensive response.

In individuals with ASPD, relationships often serve specific purposes, and Eclipse's attachment to Lunar may have been driven by a combination of genuine connection but also very clearly the utility Lunar provided in fulfilling certain needs or desires. (Which was helping Eclipse get the star of course)

Moreover, Eclipse's struggle with connecting to others, evident in strained relationships with KC and Bloodmoon, is a characteristic of ASPD. Individuals with this disorder often face challenges in forming and maintaining meaningful relationships due to their limited capacity for empathy and understanding of emotional nuances.

2. Masking Emotions:

Eclipse's tendency to keep darker thoughts to himself reflects a common coping mechanism associated with ASPD. Individuals with this disorder often learn to conceal their true emotions early on due to negative experiences when expressing genuine feelings. This learned behavior serves as a protective measure against potential backlash or social rejection.

The fear of vulnerability and subsequent consequences aligns with the interpersonal difficulties faced by those with ASPD. Eclipse's decision to hide his less socially acceptable thoughts is a strategic choice aimed at avoiding conflict and maintaining control over his image.

Professionally, the concealment of darker thoughts is recognized as a defense mechanism in individuals with ASPD. This protective facade, or 'mask,' becomes an integral part of their social interactions, allowing them to navigate social situations with greater ease. However, this constant need to mask one's true feelings can contribute to internal struggles and further isolate individuals with ASPD from genuine emotional connections.

One may ask, what 'darker thoughts' did Eclipse show, or receive backlash for? Well, let's see, when he was stuck in Sun for the beginning of his life, he was first confused, a bit scared, and completely disoriented. He was forgotten, and during the first parts we can see him trying to reconnect with Moon, however, his delivery, as individuals with ASPD tend to do, was brash. It didn't sugar coat what he wanted, and considering his earlier transgressions previously, they weren't taken well in the slightest. Instead of Moon trying to genuinely talk and explain, all he provided Eclipse with was "I changed, and you didn't." and in general was very annoyed and irate with Eclipse. There were several times during the beginning of Eclipse, where there could have been progress made with him, to help him work through his issues, his internalized fear of being forgotten again, and the accidental neglect, that just… didn't happen. Because Sun and Moon saw him as a virus.

Moon because Moon saw himself as a virus, so what else would he think of something that originated in his code, and acted like he used to? Acted like he still sometimes did, parts of himself that he didn't like about himself, living and breathing once again in the mind of his brother. Corrupting him.

And of course, Sun because he was just so tired and hurt and he finally thought he could have something only for this ball of code to make itself known? This peice of his brother that was left behind, that was formed from Moon's killcode? That was constructed from Moon's literal need to lash out, hurt others, and kill. I'm honestly a little horrified that this is never touched on in the show, because people aren't just born to be awful, that's not how this works. There were so many opportunities where toxic and awful behavior could have been stopped if it was handled properly.

Of course, I'm not blaming Sun and Moon. It's hard to help someone who doesn't understand they need help, and as a result the person won't want help either. Plus, they've said it themselves in the episodes where Lunar had returned from the dead. They were never programmed to understand mental health issues, and they have a hard enough time grasping the concepts of their own mental health issues to deal with other peoples. Especially other people who are actively hurting them, it's hard to feel sympathy for someone who causes you harm as far as I'm aware. (I personally wouldn't know)

But back to my main point, there absolutely were times in the beginning where Eclipse was just honest about his wants and desires, and was shown disgust and hatred for it. Which would absolutely make him be prone to masking, which he does a lot in the show from what I can tell.

3. Manipulation and Brash Communication:

Eclipse's communication style, characterized by being brash and straightforward, aligns with the speech patterns and tendencies often associated with ASPD. When he's not trying to pull a fast one over someone, he's very blunt, and he doesn't beat around the bush. Individuals with this disorder may utilize manipulation as a means to achieve personal goals or navigate social situations, but without a reason to sugar coat, they won't. Although sometimes not sugar coating is also employed as a manipulation tactic, which makes it tricky navigating conversation at times with sociopaths. Eclipse's lack of hesitation in employing manipulation reflects the calculated nature of his interactions, as we see him smoothly switch between fronts, acts he puts on to get people to agree with him.

His disinterest in others, apart from exploiting them for personal gain, is consistent with the self-serving behaviors commonly observed in sociopaths. The use of manipulation as a tool for control and amusement is a manifestation of the disorder's impact on interpersonal dynamics. When he contacts Moon for help with Killcode, even then he has his own motives that are only helped by Moon being distracted with Killcode, as well as having KC out of the picture.

Professionally, manipulation is recognized as a prominent feature of ASPD. Individuals with this disorder may lack the ability to form genuine emotional connections and, instead, view relationships as transactional opportunities. Eclipse's interactions, particularly with Sun and Moon, exemplify this transactional approach, where he derives amusement from creating chaos. This last bit (amusment) is important, and I'll cover it next.

Before I pop on over, this is where I'd like to touch on Servant Eclipse. He is very crafty, and very manipulative, but it doesn't fool Lunar, who he clearly cares about to some degree. (Again, will say it as many times as needed, people with ASPD can care about people, it's just a lot of effort at first, doesn't come naturally, and is reserved for a select few). Lunar in this reality probably knows Eclipse inside and out, and isn't fooled by the not very convincing "I'm just a husk now" act Eclipse is playing out with. I suspect that Eclipse also is aware the Lunar isn't fooled, but it amuses him to some degree to keep up the game. I can only imagine serving a "Lord Lunar" is a fairly excitable life, and it's unlikely he's extensively bored. He's also just as brash as the OG Eclipse, and doesn't sugar coat the truth, or tries to ease Gregory into topics.

4. Boredom and Stimulation:

Eclipse's constant quest for stimulation and amusement, even at the expense of creating chaos, reflects a key characteristic of individuals with ASPD. Boredom intolerance is common in this population, leading to a perpetual need for excitement and novel experiences. (Can speak from experience, I spend about 4-6 hours every day bored out of my freaking mind and it's absolutely torture - which is why I draw so much)

The portrayal of Eclipse as being "bored out of his mind" when stuck as an AI in KC's base underscores the challenge individuals with ASPD face in mundane or monotonous situations. The need for stimulation is a driving force behind their impulsive and sometimes risky behaviors. There's a certain kind of restlessness, and impulsivity associated with ASPD, very much an act before you think, get defensive when confronted, and maybe think about it two days later on the very small chance it triggers a sense of morals/remorse. (Then probably forget it happened, cause we are very good at not caring enough to remember half the stuff we do. This isn't a choice, by the way, people with sociopathic disorder just aren't wired to feel strong emotions like guilt and shame.)

Professionally, this behavior aligns with the clinical understanding of ASPD. Individuals with the disorder often engage in sensation-seeking activities to counteract feelings of boredom and emotional emptiness. Eclipse's enjoyment in hacking Moon's computer, causing reactions from Moon and Lunar, serves as an outlet for his need for stimulation and disruption, as well as fulfills other purposes in starting a conversation with Moon about KC.

And of course, now I get to touch on my two favorite things that just drill this in. When OG Eclipse gets the star… what does he do? He torments Sun and Moon instead of wiping everything away, and I'm aware this is mostly because he doens't have mastery over the star. But what does Sun say, when Eclipse shows up to torment them on top of the play structure. Something along the lines of, You're just bored at this point? Is that it?

And what does Eclipse do? He leaves. Because Sun is absolutely right, and it probably stings his ego to have someone he so fully has convinced himself of hating to be right about him. Even before he gets the star… just how much effort did he really put into getting the star? Sure, he had this big plan, but I think he was aware that the 'perfect world' would never make him happy to start with; he just felt the need to be something larger than life, so of course you must set the largest goals to achieve in order to be that. He could have gotten the star so much faster lets be honest. I fully believe he was just having too much fun messing with Sun and Moon, because it gave a reaction, and the reactions to his actions were exciting, breaking his boredom. He was bored a lot, stuck in Sun's head, stuck in Sun's body and pretending to be Sun, stuck as an AI, stuck with Solar Flare's AI fighting him, stuck being unable to use the star…….. seeing a pattern yet?

And of course, my second favorite thing. Lord Eclipse. Moon full out calls him out on how bored Eclipse is, and Eclipse first tries to deny it, then sees no tactical advantage to denying it, and admits that yeah, he is bored. He's been bored for ages and Moon is the first exciting thing in what feels like forever. He's not happy in his perfect world, but he isn't going to change is because that would cut his pride for Sun and Moon to be right about what he wants and needs after so many years. So many years of his Moon being dead. Of having Sun as an obedient servant, bound to his beck and call. He's bored, and it shows, and he knows that it shows.

5. Lack of Empathy:

Eclipse's consistent inability to understand and empathize with the emotions of others aligns with a central feature of Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD). Individuals with ASPD often struggle with recognizing and comprehending the feelings of those around them.

His focus on getting reactions rather than forming genuine connections reflects the hallmark trait of lacking empathy. Eclipse's interactions with Sun, Moon, and Lunar highlight his detached and indifferent approach, as he manipulates situations purely for personal amusement without regard for the emotional impact on others.

Professionally, the deficit in empathy is a well-documented aspect of ASPD. Those with the disorder may comprehend others' situations on a cognitive level but struggle to grasp the emotional nuances involved. Eclipse's inability to understand why Lunar is upset and his constant pursuit of reactions underscore the emotional disconnect inherent in individuals with ASPD.

Eclipse's interactions with Lunar provide a poignant illustration of his consistent lack of empathy. Despite a seemingly genuine attachment to Lunar in the beginning, Eclipse's emotional disconnect becomes evident as Lunar leaves. The impact of Lunar's departure on Eclipse's pride and subsequent defensive reaction highlights the absence of genuine understanding of Lunar's emotions. Eclipse struggles to comprehend the significance of Lunar's departure beyond a perceived personal betrayal, showcasing a lack of empathy toward Lunar's perspective.

Moreover, Eclipse's manipulation and attempts to provoke reactions from Lunar, even after Lunar has left, underscore his disregard for the emotional toll on Lunar. This behavior aligns with the typical patterns seen in individuals with ASPD, where the pursuit of personal amusement takes precedence over the emotional well-being of others.

Eclipse's inability to process and acknowledge his own damaged ego resulting from Lunar's departure further emphasizes his lack of emothional understanding. He doesn't want to admit that Lunar hurt him, so instead he just continues to shut it down, bottle it up, and let it churn into hatred instead of looking at what he did wrong. His resentment and refusal to acknowledge the emotional impact on Lunar highlight the emotional blindness inherent in individuals with ASPD, especially in the context of complex interpersonal relationships.

(Like seriously, even Sun and Moon hug when one of them are having an awful day, but Eclipse? He literally doesn't seem to understand why Lunar craves positive physical touch so bad, because he just… doesn't feel the need himself. You can never fully understand something you experience, and it's not like people were explaining these basic needs and wants to Eclipse… ever.)

Professionally, the intermittent remorse aligns with the recognition that individuals with ASPD may experience moments of internal conflict, especially in relationships that hold personal significance. Eclipse's struggle with whether to apologize after hitting Lunar reveals a brief internal debate, questioning the severity of his actions against Lunar's emotional response.

However, Eclipse's ultimate decision not to apologize, driven by his failure to perceive the significance of Lunar's distress, reinforces the inherent challenges in navigating emotional landscapes for those with ASPD. This internal conflict and eventual dismissal of remorse contribute to a more realistic portrayal of the disorder, highlighting the ongoing tension between impulsive actions and moments of potential introspection.

Should Eclipse undergo a redemption arc, these moments of internal conflict could serve as a foundation for growth, illustrating that while individuals with ASPD may grapple with moments of remorse, their ability to sustain lasting change remains a complex and challenging journey. Of course, I'm going to cover this as well.

Redemption and Recovery

Eclipse's potential redemption could be approached with an understanding that a complete overhaul of his personality is near impossible, because as psychology has shown, you don't just change your personality. However, nuanced growth and positive change within the framework of his behaviors and thought patterns can be explored.

Increased Self-Awareness: Eclipse could undergo a process of heightened self-awareness, acknowledging the impact of his actions on others. This could involve introspection into the motivations behind his behaviors and the consequences they entail. This won't be something he does on his own, he's going to need someone behind him, pushing him to be better. Preferably someone who has no majorly poor history with him for the best results.

Therapeutic Support: In a realistic redemption arc, Eclipse might engage in therapy tailored to individuals with ASPD. This could involve developing coping mechanisms, enhancing emotional intelligence, and learning healthier ways to navigate interpersonal relationships. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a very affective type of therapy for people with personality disorders, or collections of disorders that combined provide the complications of a personality disorder.

Recognizing the Value of Relationships: Eclipse could gradually come to recognize the value of genuine connections beyond their utility. This may involve acknowledging the significance of relationships for emotional support and personal growth. This is going to be a process, and he will mess up. He will forget. It's something he will have to choose to work with in order for it to work, and even then he will make mistakes. It will be important to have patience with him, and instead of lashing out (cause that can cause a spiral back into poor behavior), working on these slip ups with him, and helping him relearn the significance of correcting it when he messes up.

Empathy Development: A full restoration of empathy is be unrealistic, Eclipse could work on developing cognitive empathy—understanding others' perspectives intellectually, even if not emotionally. Establishing Boundaries: He should learn to set healthy boundaries in his relationships, understanding that manipulating and exploiting others for personal gain may provide short-term satisfaction but is detrimental in the long run.

Contributing Positively: As part of his redemption, he could find avenues to contribute positively to others' lives. This could involve utilizing his unique skills for constructive purposes, fostering a sense of accomplishment outside of manipulative endeavors.

Maintaining Accountability: Eclipse's growth would involve a commitment to being accountable for his actions. This includes acknowledging mistakes, making amends where possible, and actively working towards minimizing harm to others.

Potential Future Scenario: Eclipse Apologizes

Brought to you by someone saying that Lunar would refuse Eclipse trying to apologize, but I respectfully disagree, and here's why.

I think that if Eclipse ever does apologize to Lunar, Lunar would have literally no choice but to accept, because we’ve seen early on that he does not apologize

To genuinely apologize and acknowledge his wrongdoing would be major character development that would take a lot of time and struggle to get to that point, based on my theories/analysis about him

So by the time he can actually, truthfully apologize, there would be evidence to prove his struggle with his own twisted nature, and probably how he failed at times during the journey, and had set backs and road bumps. The others would have most likely seen the effects and effort it takes to learn to change for him, and would most likely acknowledge that he’s being truthful.

If Lunar doesn’t accept at that point, if it ever got to that point, Lunar would be acting irrationally due to emotional complications, would probably just hurt Eclipse when he’s trying to be better for his brother, and would most likely set him back. There’s a very destructive pattern of thought when it comes to personality stuff (which is what I think Eclipse struggles with, a specific personality disorder I’m writing a comic thingy about), because you can’t change your personality. You can’t will yourself to be a certain way, and so it’s very easy to destroy progress people make on self improvement. So lunar refusing the apology would most likely not only hurt Eclipse’s pride (like it was hurt when Lunar left his side the first time) but would also further his belief of “why bother if they won’t accept the fact I’m trying for them” that he’d probably struggle with throughout a period of character growth.

Lunar’s smart, and pretty emotionally aware. He can be petty, but if Eclipse were to get to that point, I don’t think Lunar would refuse it because he would have already seen the struggle and effort Eclipse had put through just to get to that point

Logically, Solar would be the best person to help Eclipse, not Earth

I really honestly doubt that Earth is going to be able to help him, if he comes back, and I’m suspecting that Solar would do a better job because he’s the only who can understand, properly, the absolute hell that was waking up inside of Sun’s mind with no idea what’s going on and how he got there. Earth can be sympathetic and show him pity, but that’s not going to help him very much at the end of the day. He doesn’t want sympathy, he doesn’t want pity because he has associated that with being weak and out of control. He needs some one who will understand him, and who will fully understand how one small thing changed so much due to the snow ball effect. Which Solar would understand. He’s “nice eclipse” after all, aka just an Eclipse without such bad formative trauma. So he never spiraled, but he’s just as blunt and analytical as Eclipse tends to be, and would be able to actually communicate with Eclipse about his issues since it’s a situation he could have easily been in had things gone slightly different

Solar is probably the only one who can understand, and I mean properly understand, Eclipse’s trauma and bottled up emotions. And I think that if they’re going to give Eclipse someone who will support him, they should do Solar. He’s got all boxes checked

The ability to fully understand Eclipse

No bad history with Eclipse that would really affect how Eclipse treats him (It’s not like Eclipse knows he built the satellite)

Similar base personality, his just wanted warped and twisted in the start, but if you strip away Eclipse’s issues, they’re practically the same person… for obvious reasons

The willingness to say what needs to be said, and not try to sugar coat. Earth would try to let Eclipse down easy about stuff, ease him into it, and he’s gonna see that as her being manipulative because that’s how he manipulates people. He needs someone who is just going to lay things out on the table

And of course, Solar most likely wouldn’t think Eclipse is too far gone to change. Because how do you think that of yourself? And they are the same person, just from different perspectives. It’s a similar dilemma I have to just writing off Eclipse, when I take him apart and see myself staring back at me. But I was able to improve, it just took work, and it took a situation dire enough to get me to realize that if I didn’t want to ruin the few things I cared about, I needed to get my crap together. And that’s probably what he’s gonna need to, something that threatens what he cares about to the point he realizes that this can’t go on. (And I’m suspecting that something will be control over his own life, just like it was for me.) We saw at the end of his life, that he was starting to self reflect and realize that he needs to change somehow, and this was because his control over his own life was being threatened I suspect.

Extra, Smaller Analysis on Solar and Eclipse

It is important to note that Solar doesn't have this issue (ASPD), and I believe it's because he didn't suffer the same beginning that Eclipse did. They resolved the Solar issue when he popped into existance very quickly from what we can tell, and so he wasn't left in the dark for months on end, left to stew in his own agony and emotions. Personality issues are caused by trauma, and specifically ASPD is directly tied to neglect during the most crucial formative stages in development. Sun and Moon had no idea Eclipse was there, and didn't mean to abandon him, because they didn't know he existed. But this complete, and utter abandoment, what is probably internalized as a personal betrayal because I can imagine Eclipse being destroyed by the idea that Moon left him behind on purpose. Which is just… not a good thought for my man to have, because that leads to feelings of worthlessness, and self-hatred for not being 'good enough' to keep/take care of/help. Which then just snowballs into other negative emotions, that gets him all worked up, and then he's fuming at the fact that they left him. That they decided he wasn't worth keeping around, and how dare they make that decision about him for him?!

You can see how it gets out of hand quickly, as he realizes the neglect he's suffering from, the abandonment he's facing, and the fact that he's now trapped. That Moon got to escape, but he can't and it's not fair. This is the perfect breeding ground for that funny little disorder called sociopathy, and boy, there's almost nothing at this point that can convince me that he doesn't have it because it's all just a little too perfect. And the worst part?

I really really doubt it was done on purpose, but holy heck it would be so cool if it was. Not just because of how beautifully crafted it is in his character, how it's so consistent and real, but also because if it was done on purpose, it would show that the writers took the time to do real research about a disorder that is so often done so poorly, and is commonly confused with a completely different issue (psychopathic disorder). Even knowing that it probably wasn't done on purpose, I'm still gonna just cling to him because I love him and I want him to get the happy ending he deserves. And I mean that genuinely, people who are suffering and lashing out because they're drowing in hate due to unfortunate circumstances that were really out of their control deserve to be given the tools to improve themselves and their lives, and it would be wonderful to see this sentiment reflected in the show.

Wrap-Up Ramble/Writer's Notes

This is, of course, my own personal observations, and it is definitely a lot to read. I had a lot of fun constructing this thread, because it is so rare to find a character that I feel I can properly connect to. I've struggled with a lot of the patterns Eclipse has shown in the show that I've called out, and I've had to go through the steps in the 'redemption arc' section myself. It's not an easy process, and as I mentioned, him realistically improving is going to be a process that is going to be draining on himself, and the people around him. He will have to wake up and choose to go against the walls he's thrown up around himself every single day if he's going to have a realistic redemption, and it's going to be exhausting. But I do genuinely believe that he can change, and improve, because I was able to change and improve as a person. It took time, years of intensive self examination and cognitive based therapy, and it required a strong support system. Which hopefully, if he comes back to the show, he can obtain, because otherwise he will continue to drown in his own bitter stew of resentment for others and himself. And that's no fun, that's just depressing.

A lot of people look at Eclipse and think the villain, but I just can't. His actions make him a bad person, but taking apart the psychology behind him, and seeing how glaringly similar a character is to you that is supposed to be the 'bad guy'… I want him to be able, if he comes back, to get the proper 'recovery arc' that he deserves, and I really hope that if they do try to save him from his own demons, they do it properly, instead of giving him a complete 180. Because you can't change your personality, and Davis and Reed seem to be aware of that with Moon. Even when old Moon tried to be better, he was still an awful person. And the 'new' Moon is still eerily similar to the old one, and as the time goes on, he just becomes more and more like the old one. Because it's the same AI, he just lost his memories. He didn't do a whole personality change because he got his memory card wiped, because he's the same person where it counts. He just has the benefit of not having all of the pain his past self was carrying. He's free of the hurt, and trauma, and self hatred old Moon carried, but he's still Moon.

So I'm really hoping that they continue to accurately display psychology in their characters if they bring Eclipse back, because it is such an immersive show due to the fact that it makes sense. These things make sense psychology wise, their behaviors, actions, patterns of thinking and speech. And I really am looking forward to seeing if they bring Eclipse back because he's such a beautifully constructed character.

So on the back of my headcanon about the Prototype more or less raising CatNap, I've been watching someone play Project Playtime for the first time, and I'm fucking yelling

If you play as the monster, the Prototype literally teaches you (as Huggy Wuggy) how to hunt. He's the one giving the tutorial instructions.

And honestly? The vibe I got from that "interaction" is that Prototype likes children. More than that: Prototype is good with children.

Project Playtime takes place in the intervening decade between the Hour of Joy massacre and the start of the main game. Based on the fact that Huggy needs the Prototype's guidance, it's probably fairly early in that period - he's not used to hunting for himself yet. So Huggy here is a monster with limited intelligence - he's the most 'animal' experiment we've seen, though he is still able to write - and the soul of a child.

And the Prototype tailors his lessons appropriately. Like, I trained to work with kids, and he uses essentially the same approach I would to teach a young or special needs child a new skill.

Simple Instructions: what Prototype is teaching Huggy here is, at its core, strategy and tactical thinking, and that's a subject he seems to understand well and know a lot about. A more intelligent experiment - like, say, young CatNap - might ask a lot of questions, and Prototype could probably give them long, in-depth explanations of why doing X thing prompts Y response or why Z tactic is useful. But Huggy isn't on that level, so Prototype keeps his instructions and explanations short, concise and easy to understand.

No Guesswork: Huggy, described as having only "sufficient" intelligence post-transformation, likely has limited capacity for complex thought. Where CatNap might be encouraged to think ahead for himself and suggest problems that could arise, Huggy would struggle. So Prototype gives him all the information he needs: here are the ways the humans will try to avoid or harm or mislead you, and here are the ways you can fight back. He even points out little tips that might seem obvious, like listening for the breathing of a hiding worker, because he knows that might not occur independently to Huggy.

Positive Reinforcement: When Huggy successfully incapacitates a human player, Prototype laughs and praises him, treating a potentially upsetting conflict like a fun game. Once Huggy has gotten rid of all the human players and won the match, Prototype tells him he did a good job and that he can rest now.

The Bad News Sandwich: One technique I was taught for dealing with young children is that when you have to give them upsetting or disappointing news, sandwiching it between two good things limits the distress it will cause. And Prototype does this twice with Huggy:

[Praises Huggy for catching a player and putting him in the food chute] [warns Huggy that the other players could try to rescue their friend] [offers a way to stop them doing that]

[Praises Huggy for clearing out the factory] [tells Huggy that more humans will return] [reassures Huggy that for now, he can rest and relax]

Anyway. Prototype taught at least one child-aged experiment to fend for itself and defend the factory: confirmed. And so, scenarios I'm now picturing with Prototype and little CatNap: this

I'm also 👀👀👀 at the fact that like. While it's directly stated that while his main motive for having the experiments attack the Project Playtime workers is to stop them making more creatures, he's got a secondary motive in that he's using the Bigger Bodies mascots *to gather food for the smaller toys*. The larger toys may have become hostile towards the smaller, weaker, "prey" toys, but the Prototype seems to be at least trying to provide for them, albeit in the only fucked-up way available to him.

Anyway I just think that's really interesting considering he's been implied to be the game's ultimate Big Bad. I think there's more to him than we've been told

“Oh my god, where have you been?! I’ve been trying to get a hold of you for hours!” 

Beca winced and pulled the phone away from her ear as Aubrey’s shrill voice threatened to deafen her.

“I was in the studio,” Beca replied, frowning as she crossed the parking lot to her car. “My phone was off. What’s going on?”

“Chloe’s left him,” Aubrey said. “Like actually finally left his cheating ass, and now I can’t get hold of her.”

Beca stopped walking. “Are you serious?”

“Yes! I’m surprised Chicago isn’t blowing up your phone right now, no one knows where she is.”

Beca scoffed and quickened her pace to her car. “That douchebag doesn’t have my number,” Beca said. She got into her car and switched the call over to her bluetooth. “Tell me what happened.” 

“She called me last night saying she caught him cheating again, and that she was done,” Aubrey said. “And now her phone is off, and Chicago has called me like 50 times since this morning demanding I tell him where she is.”

“She didn’t tell you where she was going?” Beca asked, trying to take in what Aubrey was telling her. Her stomach was twisting as she pulled out onto the highway and she tried to think of where Chloe might have gone. 

“No,” Aubrey said. “I thought she might have called you.”

“I’ve not heard from her in a few days,” Beca said. She began chewing her bottom lip as her mind ran through every potential scenario of what might have happened. “She has Sarah with her, right?”

“Of course, Chloe wouldn’t have left her behind,” Aubrey said. “That’s what he’s so mad about. I don’t think he really cares if Chloe leaves him or not, but she took his daughter with her.”

“Have you tried her parents?” Beca asked, thinking it pretty unlikely that she’d have gone to them, but not impossible.

It was Aubrey’s turn to scoff now. “No,” Aubrey said, “but there’s no way she’d have gone there. They weren’t even at the engagement party.” 

“No, I know,” Beca said. “But maybe she’d have gone there because no one would expect her to.”

“If we haven’t heard by tonight I’ll call them, but I don’t want to get them involved if I can help it,” Aubrey said.

Beca reached her exit on the highway and pulled off, and then drove in silence for a few minutes as both her and Aubrey tried to figure out what to do next.

“She’ll be okay, right?” Aubrey asked, voicing their shared concern for the first time.

“Yeah,” Beca said, hoping her voice didn’t betray the fear she was feeling. “He wouldn’t have… Chicago, he wouldn’t have done anything to her, would he?”

“No,” Aubrey said. “I don’t think so. He’s an asshole, but he’s not a monster. And besides, he isn’t that good of an actor, and I’ve never heard anyone sound as pissed off as he did on the phone.”

“Yeah, you’re right,” Beca said. “I’m sure she’ll get in touch soon. I bet she just turned her phone off so he couldn’t reach her and that she’ll call us when she can.” Beca reached her street and slowed as she prepared to pull into her drive. She frowned when she saw a vaguely familiar car parked outside her house. “Actually,” Beca said, “hold that thought.”

“What?”

“I think she’s here,” Beca said, feeling a wave of relief crash over her. She pulled into her drive just as the driver’s door from the other car opened. “Yeah, she’s outside my house. I’ll call you in a little bit, okay?”

“Sure,” Aubrey said, sounding as relieved as Beca felt. “Tell her she’s a pain in the ass and that I’m sending her the medical bill for the stomach ulcer she gave me.”

“Will do,” Beca said. She said her goodbyes and hung up her phone before getting out of her car. 

Chloe was standing by her car, a look of hesitation on her face, a sleeping toddler in her arms.

Beca thought she looked tired. There were dark circles under her eyes that were red and puffy.

“Did you drive through the night?” Beca asked.

“Pretty much,” Chloe replied. “I should have called.”

Beca shook her head. “It’s okay. Aubrey filled me in, she’s been pretty worried.”

“I’ll call her,” Chloe said.

“Later,” Beca said. “It’s like a million degrees out here and you look like you’re about to drop.” She gestured for Chloe to follow her into the house. 

“You said Aubrey filled you in?” Chloe asked, all but collapsing onto Beca’s sofa, her daughter still held protectively in her arms.

“Yeah, she gave me the gist,” Beca said. “I’m so sorry, Chlo’.”

“I feel like an idiot,” Chloe said. “This is the third time he’s done this and I… Why did I keep forgiving him?”

“You were trying to keep your family together,” Beca said. “If anyone’s the idiot here it’s him. What kind of moron cheats on Chloe Beale for crying out loud.”

Chloe let out a laugh which quickly turned into a sob, which quickly woke up Sarah who joined in with her Mom’s crying.

“I’m sorry,” Chloe said, wiping her eyes while she attempted to soothe her crying daughter. “I’m sorry for this, for just turning up here without a word.”

“Don’t be sorry,” Beca said. “I’m glad you knew you could come here.”

“It shouldn’t be for more than a few days, just while I figure out what to do next,” Chloe said. Sarah stopped crying and Chloe turned her around on her lap. “Don’t you want to say hello to Auntie Beca?”

Sarah wasted no time in wriggling off her Mom’s lap and toddling over to where Beca sat, her arms outstretched. “Auntie Beca!”

“Hi sweetheart,” Beca said, smiling and eagerly scooping her up. “When did you get so big, huh?”

“I free,” she said, holding up three fingers.

“No way,” Beca said. “You must be at least fourteen by now.”

Sarah giggled and slid off Beca’s lap so she could continue wandering around the room.

“You can stay as long as you want, Chloe,” Beca said, turning her attention back to her friend. “I mean that. I have the room, and I have the money, and you know I could use the company.”

“I can’t ask you to-”

“You aren’t asking,” Beca said, cutting her off. “I’m offering. In fact, I’m not even offering, I’m asking. Please stay here for as long as you would like to.”

Chloe sank back against the sofa as if a weight had been lifted. The long night and day of driving had finally caught up to her and she suddenly didn’t know if she’d be able to keep her eyes open. 

“Thank you,” Chloe said.

“You don’t need to thank me,” Beca replied. “Can I get you anything? Food, or water, or anything?”

Chloe shook her head. “Can I just have five minutes?”

“Of course,” Beca said. “Sarah, do you want a snack?”

“Uh huh,” Sarah said, handing Beca the TV remote she’d found. “You put on the princess?”

“Sure,” Beca said. “Uh, which princess?”

“With the seagulls,” Sarah said, helpfully. 

“Uh…”

“She wants Frozen,” Chloe mumbled as she rested her head on the arm of the sofa. 

“Oh, of course she does,” Beca said. “Come on, munchkin, let’s go get you a snack and then we can watch Frozen.”

They spent the next few hours in relative calm as Sarah ate apple slices and watched Frozen. She squealed with excitement during Olaf’s song where he danced with seagulls for a few seconds, and Beca laughed as she realised this moment had stood out to Sarah as the most significant of the film.

Chloe dozed for most of it until she excused herself to finally call Chicago. 

She returned after the movie had finished with her eyes looking considerably more bloodshot.

“Mommy,” Sarah said, reaching for her as soon as she returned. 

“Hey baby,” Chloe said, scooping her up.

“Everything okay?” Beca asked.

Chloe shrugged. “He’s furious, but he’s agreed to give me space for a few weeks.”

Beca pulled a face. “Can he really blame you for leaving?”

“He doesn’t care about me,” Chloe said. “He’s mad that I took his daughter, which I guess is fair. He was a crappy partner, but he’s a good dad.” She sighed and kissed the top of Sarah’s head. “Once he’d calmed down he said he’d come out to L.A. in a few weeks and we could start discussing custody and child support and that kinda thing.” She let out another sigh and checked the time, wondering when this long day would ever end. 

Eventually, after unpacking the car, eating dinner, bathing Sarah, and putting her to bed, Chloe was finally able to sit down with Beca and a much needed glass of wine.

“I’m sorry you’re having to go through all this, Chlo’,” Beca said. “He’s… he’s such an idiot.”

“I feel like I’m the idiot, to be honest.”

“No way,” Beca said. “He was engaged to the best person in the world, has the most incredible daughter, and he threw all that away because he wanted to get his dick wet?”

Chloe just shrugged. She had no answer that she could give Beca, and she was too tired to try and think of one.

“If I had his life…” Beca trailed off and shook her head. “I wouldn’t give it up for anything.”

“I didn’t realise that was something you wanted,” Chloe said. Beca shrugged, and Chloe tapped a finger against the stem of her wine glass before she brought it to her lips. “If you want a family, maybe me staying isn’t the best idea.”

Beca frowned. “What makes you say that?”

“I just mean it might not be easy to like, date or whatever when you’ve got a single Mom and her kid living in your house.”

Beca shook her head. “That isn’t what I meant,” she said. 

Chloe took another drink of wine. “What did you mean?”

Beca suddenly felt like they’d waded into uncharted waters as the conversation took a turn towards a place she never thought they’d go.

She took a breath and another drink of wine.

“You know what I meant,” Beca said, avoiding eye-contact. 

There was a long pause in which Chloe felt her chest get tight. “Still?”

Beca nodded. “It never went away,” she said.

The silence stretched on, and Beca wished she could take her words back. She hadn’t meant for this to come out on Chloe’s first night. She hadn’t meant for it to come out at all.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn't have said anything,” Beca said. “I’m gonna go to bed and tomorrow we can just forget this whole conversation happened.”

“Don’t,” Chloe said, her hand resting on Beca’s arm. “Don’t go. Don’t apologise.”

Beca held her breath and waited for Chloe to continue. 

“Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I’d kissed you instead of Chicago that night,” Chloe said. “And I wonder what would have happened if I’d left him when you told me how you felt that night before I moved out. I… I think about that all the time, Beca.”

“Me too,” Beca said. “But if you’d done that, you wouldn't have Sarah.” She cleared her throat before she continued. “You were right to pick him. I wasn’t ready to be the person you needed. I was too focused on my career, I had complete tunnel vision and everything else just fell to the wayside. It would have ruined us as a couple and as friends. I wasn’t ready to be a good partner then.”

Chloe swallowed, and her hand moved down Beca’s arm and gripped her hand.

“What about now?” She asked.

Beca let out a soft laugh as tears sprang to her eyes. “I think I can do it now. I think… I know I want to do it now.” 

Chloe pressed her forehead against Beca’s as tears filled her eyes. 

“I can’t rush into anything,” she said. 

“I know,” Beca replied. “I wouldn’t want you to. I don’t want to be a rebound.”

“Never,” Chloe said, her grip on Beca’s hand tightened. 

“If we do this, I want to do it right,” Beca said.

“We can wait until the dust settles. Wait until Sarah has settled. Take it slowly, and do it properly,” Chloe said.

“Just… tell me when you’re ready,” Beca said, pulling back so she could look at Chloe properly.

Chloe smiled and pressed a kiss against Beca’s cheek. “I will,” she said.

Hi, first of all I’d like to say I love your art and writing, I read Reprogrammed in one sitting and it was marvelous, got me thinking of AUs. Everything my angsty little heart could desire. Wild Kratts has been a staple of my childhood so it’s amazing to see talented creators appreciating the show.

Personally I think it’d be a mixed bag as Chris would be both guilty and crippled with anxiety over his lost brother, leading into desperation and lashing out. Meanwhile I think Martin would loath the situation, but also feel weirdly content since he’s the one that got captured. That meant his little brother and friends were all safe and weren’t the ones going through the suffering. He’d probably also have heaping loads of guilt if he hurt Chris cause that’s his little brother who he’d sworn to protect and he just hurt him. So much angst potential

oooo.... a Martin version of Reprogrammed.... that would be really interesting! I agree that Martin would probably feel relief that Chris is safe. That is... until any sort of confrontation with Chris or Martin having any suspicion that he's hurt him. Martin would probably self destruct after that. But in a way I think Martin would be able to handle everything else a bit better because Martin takes on the mindset of "Bad things happen sometimes and it's out of our control" Meanwhile Chris is a very meticulous thinker in the sense that there needs to be a reason for things happening, and there needs to be a person to blame them on. And I think Chris would try his absolute best to fill in his brother's role during his absence, but ultimately feel super out of his league and Aviva or Koki would end up being the ones to step up as team lead.

Because as much as Martin goofs off or seems unorganized, I don't think the team realizes just how much they rely on him to make decisions. Ofc they make a lot of choices as a team and it's definitely not Martin bossing them around all the time, but in times of crisis or emergency, Martin's quick decision-making is what keeps them on their feet. Chris is great at planning, organizing, and strategizing, but put him on the spot and the poor guy will implode.

Would it be too broad a question to prompt for thoughts on a Yue & Azula dynamic? Idk if it’s rly that fun to ruminate on hypotheticals when Yue is the moon post s1, but I mean, we have contemplated the potential dynamics of Yue with other characters beyond s1 so I don’t see why not. Tbh I just thought it was interesting bc Yue has completely internalized her role within patriarchy as a symbol of the motherland etc etc. & Azula I think everyone esp w/in fandom tends to misconstrue as like. lmfao yeah you basically said it all. yue and azula are both mirrors to sokka and also mirrors to each other. they each have “duties to their father and to their people” that they embody above all else, sublimating their personhood to perform obedience to their respective patriarchs. yue performs this role through denying her own agency and sacrificing herself, azula performs this role through dehumanizing herself and molding herself into a weapon, and sokka does all of the above. but in a more literal sense, yue and azula are both princesses (obviously sokka is also the son of the chief, but it’s a different situation because he’s also not a Girl) and so this is already a huge commonality between them, considering they’re the only two real princesses in the entire show (although you could argue that toph and mai functionally had similar upbringings). I think a lot of people envision azula and yue working together in an AU wherein the war never happened and so there was international cooperation that allowed for them to meet. that, or an AU wherein yue survives the siege and eventually meets azula. neither of these hypotheticals are particularly interesting to me, but I could see them getting along, because yue likes nerdy dorks who make bad jokes and kill people, and azula likes beautiful girls with shiny hair who are nice to her (to be honest I don’t even think they have to be beautiful, I think they just have to be nice to her, and being absolutely gorgeous is just a bonus). but it’s also kind of a pointless ship to me because there’s no real scenario wherein they’d interact, and sokka already functions as a proxy between both of them in the first place. and is he not dykey enough to satisfy your desires??? for shame.

the second response that I feel is more applicable would be the worst case scenario: what would happen if I did? you'd still have your characters; their value to you isn't finished by the idea that there are others like them. the things you share will never paint a complete picture, and two people with the same prompt still make different things simply because their tastes and perspective influence what they like to create.

I post a lot of stuff about ocs. It's basically all I post, really. I don't do it because that Publicly Marks Them As Mine or prevents other people from having the same ideas I have - and there is no way to create in a vacuum where the things you know aren't influenced by what you've experienced already. Hell, derien was designed intentionally to align with a lot of different facets of characters in his pathfinder party; he's visually influenced by a lot of artists I enjoy the work of and he's narratively influenced by the other characters he's around. I know he's influenced the characters of others, too, because people have told me that - that parts of him are reflected in what they made because they realized through me that that's something they enjoy in a character.

That's like, fine. That's normal. There are no completely original ideas, because people draw from each other, and that's a good thing. You're supposed to acknowledge the things around you and learn what you like and don't like, and you're supposed to want to make things that you enjoy making. I'm quite sure there are, with Derien as the continued example, hundreds of people who have played ttrpg changelings with criminal backgrounds. Some of those were probably parents, some of those probably betrayed people who trusted them, some probably worked with trains, some probably have tattoos. But there are no others that were made to fit into This TTRPG Party, no others that were shared so I could join my friends in their game, and that matters more to me than all of the potential direct copies other people could ever make. The stories I tell can't be duplicated, because they're mine - and if they could, well, holy shit two cakes png.

This got kinda rambly because I just woke up but I guess my take away homework question for you is this: is sharing your work with others worth the risk that it might be copied? that's not an answer I can choose for you, and any answer to it is fine, but it's one you have to think about for yourself nonetheless

The malicious voice of the doll echoes through the walls of your house. You curse yourself for even trusting the gift. You wonder if your friend was set up by... it to give it to you.

Normally you'd call yourself crazy for thinking a doll could threaten anybody. You know better now due to seeing what it can do. This doll... Chucky... appears to know you a lot longer than you did it/him?

"Okay, maybe I came off a bit strong. The whole revealing myself thing should've taken more time. But honestly? I can't wait to take you in."

You hear fast steps run about your house. He's toying with you. He knows he'll get what he wants, even if you try to defend yourself with that weapon of yours.

"What? Are you mad I killed them?" Chucky says from behind you, he sounds rather annoyed. "Think of how I feel! I had to watch you mingle with other people that weren't me! You know what? I got tired of it!"

You manage to push the door open, only for something to slice the back of your leg. Your cries ring out and you slip on your own blood. The pain in unbearable, Chucky pulling your head back to expose your throat certainly wasn't helping.

"So what if a few people have to die? It'll only bring us closer!" Chucky growls, holding on as you flail. You can stand with your wounds and struggle to fight the doll with a blade pressed to your throat. "In fact, your own death and blood will bring us closer if you just let me conduct this little ritual!"

"Go to Hell!" You yell, cringing at the warmth of both the doll and blood coating your clothes.

"Oh, baby... I can't!" Chucky teases before pushing the knife closer "Not unless I take you with me!"

You struggle more with the doll before he eventually finds a way to knock your head with something. You're not quite unconscious but docile enough to allow the doll to tie you down. You struggle weakly in your binds, realizing the blood loss would put you in shock in soon. While you come to terms with tour situation... you barely notice Chucky drag a doll in.

"If you continue to fight me on this, you're dead." Chucky claims in a stern tone. You're in no place to fight anyway so you weakly nod. In reality, you'll probably die either way with the blood you're losing.

Perhaps you're just tired of fighting anyways.

Chucky smiles at your compliance, lifting your head to see your dull eyes.

"Now I want you to sit tight, I prepared for this moment." Chucky chimes, placing his hands on the doll and you. "After this... you'll be my perfect little doll, just you see."

You go light-headed, feeling your own warmth begin to slip away. You hoped death would claim you before he did whatever the hell he was planning. Unfortunately, that would be mercy compared to what's happening.

"Give in." Chucky orders. "When you wake up, we'll be made for each other."

It's then you hear a foreign language spill from the doll's lips.

You're too weak to even cry.

Nah, not really. Although I mainly wanted it to be Alastor x Reader in the beginning and it did start out that way, there are just too many possible pairings in the requesting scenario/prompt (? idk what to call those now). That's why I left it to interpretation.

As for Carmilla. Took me a while to see where the self-doubt came from. If you're talking about the Part 1.5 where Carmilla doesn't know what to do about killing the exterminator without losing favour from you.

Her fear stems from guilt. Check back to Part 3, Carmilla as the second soul in your collection requested a lot from you from the beginning. Granted that she was among the more successful and talented souls in your collection, and you didn't mind giving her this much support to her business that could simultaneously grow your own power (to some extent). It's in her viewpoint that she feels like she wasn't doing enough and taking too much from you too brazenly.

You by no means see Carmilla as weak or guilty or even unworthy. You treasure her just as much (not as closely as Alastor, but still). Your attention to what she cares about; her daughters and business, is proof of that. Even your generous reward to her during the meeting.

And!! Behind the scenes, Carmilla was the only one to actually get in contact with you and got you to reply back! Not even Alastor managed that. Alastor was given no hints that you were back, Carmilla was the only one that knew, even though Zestial was the one that suggested for Carmilla to contact you, but it was still a gamble cause you've been absent and silent for a long while.

So, Carmilla is 'loved', at least the 'love' that you as the Collector would show and express. No way is it obvious or the textbook love, but compared to the Sinner around Hell, Carmilla and the others in the Elite Collection already has some form of love from you. Yeah, even the Vees by extension.

Steve’s not entirely sure why he does it.

Okay, that might be a bit of a lie. He knows why he does it — the idea of pressing a sweet kiss to your cheek has been the focus of several chin-in-hand fantasies for months. He’s tracked over a dozen scenarios of it in his mind, a hundred times over.

It’s the perfect non-committal move. One that his nerves could potentially handle to actually go through with. Because see, if it goes wrong, it can all be written off as platonic. He's kissed Robin on the cheek before. Friends can kiss each other on the cheek — especially if it’s as a thank-you, which he has definitely decided is the most natural way to do it, if he ever were to.  

And if goes right...

Well, that’s where Steve’s mind wanders toward most of the time, til he’s aching inside from how lovesick he is. How terribly unfair of the world to make his heart latch onto his closest friend. To make his charisma and flirt fail him when he really needs it; to put you in this elevated untouchable space where Steve feels like he’s not allowed to feel this way. Yet he does, yet it yearns between every rib, til he feels it in every breath.

So, sure he knows why he does it; but honest, he’s not expecting it from himself.

It’s certainly spur of the moment. That’s what Steve blames it on when he blinks, heart thundering in his chest, nerves turned to 11, and his face rivaling the sun in heat.

Because, fuck, when he’d leaned down to press a quick kiss to your cheek in a thank-you — you’d brought by him lunch at work just because you're sweet like that — you had turned. And a kiss aimed for your cheek, instead found your lips.

You blink at him, clearly surprised. Steve can’t blame you, considering he just, albeit accidentally, kissed you full on the lips. In the middle of the Family Video at 1pm on a Friday.

Steve had lent a lot of time to the thought of what it might be like to kiss you, to kiss you properly. And, shit, it was so far from what had just transpired, that shoddy quick kiss that was over as quick as it started.

You blink at him again, licking your lips and Steve can’t help but watch your mouth. His brain taunts him with the knowledge he's technically kissed it now. God, was it possible to have a heart attack this young?

His heart was racing, palms getting clammy and Steve briefly prayed for all those head injuries to strike him in the form of amnesia here and now. For being your best friend, he’s suddenly impossibly unsure of the emotions that shutter across your features.

You clench your fists at your sides, swallow thickly, your eyes shifting about his face... nervously?

His hope both manages to rise and plunge simultaneously and shit, this definitely feels like a heart attack. Pure mortification is clawing through his heart and it’s about to come out his throat in the form of some croaky apology when your hands fly up and settle on either side of his face.

Everything in Steve’s head falls quiet because all at once, your lips are on his and you’re kissing him.

Steve all but melts into your kiss, his eyes fluttering shut as your lips meld against his and you pour all fondness into it. All the mortification in his heart blends away to pure glitter and his heart pumps it, fast and strong, til every limb is buzzing with it.

You’re kissing him, he thinks, dopey and happy. You’re kissing him! he thinks again and the loud brazen thought reignites his frozen hands, which grasp the front of your shirt and tug you evermore closer.

Neither of you move back very far when the kiss breaks, intertwining breaths as you both hover close. Steve swallows, prays that when he opens his eyes he won’t just be back in his bedroom, staring at the ceiling, and pries them open. You’re already watching him, that same nervous expression back on your face.

“That...” You start, still a bit breathy. “That wasn’t just an accident, right?”

Steve chuckles but it comes out a bit strangled, his gaze skirting along every plane of your face. He tries not to quiver under the feeling of your hands on his skin, still cradling his jaw sweetly.

“I mean, technically the first one was,” He admits, leaning closer so his forehead can lean against yours. “But no. God, no, I’ve... I want you.”

It’s so forward, so lacking the suaveness he usually possesses in these moments but Steve doesn’t care if it’s completely raw with emotion. You kissed him and it’s like a perfect key to every feeling he’s been holding back from you.

“And I- I want you to want me.” Steve confesses, his grip on your shirt curling tighter. He manages to unfurls his fist and smooths it out to a tender hand, lets it drift to your face and rests his palm against your cheek. Your eyes are wide, eyes darting frantically as if you’re searching for a hint of insincerity. You aren’t going to find any.

“I didn’t think you—” Your voice cracks around the words, giving away the swell of your emotions. It makes you laugh a bit, quiet and nervous, and you avert your eyes for the next part instinctively. “I didn’t think you saw me that way.”

Steve has to take a moment to gather himself because it feels like a goddamn fracture has gone through his chest.

“Sweetheart,” Steve coos, the pet name slipping off his top as sweet as honey. It melts under your skin like butter in the sun, til you’re gooey inside and wobbly at the knees. You meet his eyes right as his thumb shifts and gingerly traces along your bottom lip. The blood beneath it tingles hot at the attention.

“Please, let me prove how wrong you are.” He utters, voice soft. His nose brushes against yours, the faintest of nuzzles. You think your heart might collapse and you’d let it, if it meant this — this Steve, entirely affectionate and fond in a way you couldn’t ever imagine — was something you got to keep.

You nod, the slightest motion against him. Steve delights, his hazel eyes brighter, his grin wild with elation.

True, it’s not quite what Steve had pictured all those times he imagined getting a chance to kiss you, not even close to one of those romantic locations he’d have preferred and god, he’s in the stupid work vest for Christ’s sake.

It's nothing like he pictured, no, but when he gets to kiss you again, passion so tangible it’s sweet on your lips, Steve decides it’s so entirely better.

Oooh ! I was currently wondering a bit but like you've mentioned that a few years later, Aster and Asha would likely have a daughter. I'd just ask the usual questions, I hope thats fine !

And a small prompt of just Evangeline running around the house taking after her father's speedy runs then cue Aster trying to catch her for her bath while Asha is like " She takes after you." JUST A WHOLE CUTE FAMILY AHWHAGQHGWHA

I just had the best ideas!

1- Evangeline (or Lin for short) would look similar to these concept arts of Asha

With the curly side fringe and the big braid. She’d have Aster’s skin tone and Asha’s dark hair, and of course freckles since they both have freckles.

She’d have Asha’s eyes and nose, and Aster’s smile and jawline.

So I’d say she looks like a perfect mix of both

2- I believe that they’d have a great relationship, with Asha being very caring and loving and Aster being the fun dad that lets her do anything. I imagine Asha would teach her how to draw and tell her a lot of stories, while Aster would be more active and just play and sing to her all day.

Basically this:

I’m conflicted if they’d tell her that Aster used to be a Star or not, because on one hand they could keep it a secret and we’d have a Melody from The Little Mermaid 2 situation where she eventually finds out and gets mad that her parents hidden that from her, but the more I think about the less I think they’d even keep it a secret, so yeah let’s say she knows Aster was a star once.

But wouldn’t it be interesting if she was different from her mom because she doesn’t want to take effort to get what she wants? And wishes she could have magic like her dad used to have and her mom still does with her drawing wand (that only Asha can use and no one else)? Wouldn’t be neat if she wished upon the brightest star on the sky for her to have magic? And then the star came down and Evangeline got to meet her SISTER??? I think that’d be neat… May or may not have started to think of a potential sequel to Kingdom of Wishes.

Anyway yeah their relationship is very cute, just two sweet parents, a spunky and headstrong daughter, and their other space daughter they didn’t know about.

general opinion:

i think they're neat together! a lot of people are reluctant to ship them together romantically which is like, fair enough etc but it feels like that'd be overlooking their potential for both chaos for the sake of chaos (fun!) and true tenderness between two people who generally might feel pretty misunderstood and isolated from the rest of the team for various reasons (also fun!).

because theyre both on offensive roles i can see them interacting regularly On The Job as well which is always great to write imo.

headcanons:

i generally think scout and pyro are close friends even before becoming romantically involved or whatever...

i like the idea of scout being a bit scared of pyro at first because they're a big question mark, but because scout is this person who finds any challenge worth his time he takes it upon himself to be The First Who Befriends That Weirdo (affectionate).

he'll learn how to decipher pyro's mumbling and learn sign language (which also helps on the battlefield where it's often loud!).

scout is of course extremely curious about what's under the mask but he doesn't pry. none of his business. but if pyro ends up revealing themselves you know he'll be like 👀👀👀

pyro's just glad someone's willing to stick around with them! they don't mind being a loner but like, company is always nice.

they probably also feel pretty >:) about scout—this big talker jock and generally annoying dickhead—being actually nice to them. the power they hold over him... i reckon they feel pretty good about it.

scout strikes me as a romantic regardless of who he's paired up with, and pyro seems like a cuddler so i think their relationship as Lovers would be soooo sweet... inseparable and always goofing around and laughing and pulling (sometimes VERY dangerous) pranks on their teammates.

they're two fucked up little guys who somehow find each other in a weird fucked up world <3

now to specifically get to The Prompt from the ask LMFAO... hotel HUH...

i can imagine a scenario where they have to spend the night in some kind of motel for a duo contract or something and it's (gasp) a room with twin beds bc why would it be a double bed? fanfiction is contrived man (winks knowlingly at the person reading this)...

anyway scout checks in on his own bc he doesnt want pyro's Appearance to alarm the reception lady (little does he know that the lady would think absolutely NOTHING of it, she's seen worse, she's been workin this reception desk for 30 years you know), grabs the key and then gets both him and pyro in.

i think as soon as they get in they jump on the beds like trampolines because The Urge To Have Fun is too strong lmao.

i feel like they first sleep separately but then scout maybe notices pyro having bad dreams or tossing and turning so he just ends up snuggling up with pyro to comfort them :) or it could be the other way around if you want really, i think neither of them is truly free from insomnia, night terrors, and PTSD lol.

i feel like i could go on and just write a ficlet from just this idea but i'll stop here LOL thank you so much for indulging me!

Du'elle Tuladeth would absolutely be the greatest swordsperson in history if she cared about that even a little bit. She's been reported dead a few times because she's pushed her rivals too far, literally fucking around and finding out, but she keeps showing back up. Which means that only the rivals who die or give up the sword life are ever really rid of her. Granted, her attentions wane once she finds a new potential rival to bother, but she likes to revisit some of her older feuds every once in a while for funsies. Which isn't great unless you get off on that kind of chaos.

Anyway, despite all this she actually has a pretty good rival seduction rate and she's broken a ton of hearts. She is. The worst.

How about the reader being friends with House and Wilson in the beginning of season 5? Would the reader "choose a side" or would they all have a fight, trying to move on by themselves?

okay anon i had to give this some major thought before answering this cause it’s a very good question

i think maybe you’d end up trying to be the mediator between the two initially, since you can see, even through house’s convoluted way of putting it, that he doesn’t want to lose wilson, but also seeing that some time and space might be good for wilson to gather his thoughts and see where he really feels like he needs to be

but because they are both drama queens and can’t cooperate for the life of them in that situation you just remove yourself completely saying you can’t babysit them and they need to figure this out by themselves

i think that means you’d remove yourself from places where you’d normally interact with them and after a few months of not knowing what’s going on, house obviously has you followed along with everyone else whereas wilson tries to take a more direct way of reconnecting with you because he never really wanted distance from you, you just got caught in the crossfire of his argument with house

so maybe that also prompts some jealousy on house’s side because there’s no way wilson gets to leave and have you, it’s just not fair, the friendship scales are imbalanced but little does he know if he just gets up off his ass and acts like a normal person you’d be more than happy to resume your friendship, but you can’t make that same decision for wilson

i think it would also be really funny that part of the reason why wilson agrees to take house to his father’s funeral is because you’d come along with them and so that road trip becomes the rekindling of your trio friendship through a variety of backwards and odd ways including the whole getting arrested scenario and getting them to shut up because they’re talking in the middle of a funeral (i can see some discreet slaps upside both of their heads, one on either side of you, along with a very pointed look because they’d really done enough and there was no way you were going to awkwardly get in trouble at your friend’s dad’s funeral because of them)

anyways this has a lot of potential for some funny misunderstandings and just general house and wilson tomfoolery x3 which i just love
