“You’re perfect,” he mouths against her sternum, and he really must be tired because she’s never seen him like this, never felt him so unguarded.

Beth strokes a hand over the buzz of his hair, trails a fingernail down his neck and then guides him to lean back so she can see him. “I think you might have a concussion.”

Rio makes a face and glares at her, amused, very slightly shakes his head no.

“What about this?” Beth gently ghosts her fingertips over the nasty scrape on his forehead.

“S’not as bad as it looks,” Rio assures her, but when she accidentally bumps the cut under his eyebrow with her thumb he winces and takes hold of her hand.

“Maybe don’t poke it though, yeah?” he teases, kissing her knuckles.

“Sorry,” she whispers and before she can overthink it she leans down to place the lightest kiss near the cut on his forehead, then another by his eyebrow, another on top of the bruise coloring his cheek.

“What’re you doin’?” Rio drawls, melting in to her touch as Beth starts to kiss down his jaw and in her periphery she can see that his eyes have fallen closed.

Nala: Oh my gosh, y'all still here? Hi! I don't wanna pick favorites, but of course my friends include my soulies squad here in the Gradient Room. Also Aisha, Kayla, Teddy, I talk to them often ( @nolvlost ), 'specially Aisha,,, Nap Club activities kinda came to a halt, so I haven't talked to too many others lately, we've just been vibing. A mini rant under the cut.

People are so ride or die when it comes to drama on XIV twitter. Like, this posing tool drama is the most hilarious fucking thing I've seen in awhile. Its SO high school.

I actually cannot wait for the new devs that 7.0 will bring. I really hope they will be those cryptid devs and mod makers who show up, drop an update and leave. When devs have to much social media presence its a recipe for disaster.

Because lets be real, 7.0 will kill Anam most likely, Brio is about to die because its already been handed off from the OG creator to another who just shot themselves in the foot yesterday, Ktisis will die whenever the dev gets bored of it. Its gonna happen and at this rate, I actually hope it happens faster so we get new devs. I am kinda tired of logging in and seeing one of the 5 posing devs going after one of the others. Its getting old and its pretty much weekly at this point.

I just want to make my blorbos kiss in peace.

after the latest update i wanted to post more of Brio. So Here are interactions between him and our favorite cast of colorful friends

Brio and Wally would gett along fine Brio would show wally all the interesting songs and music of the world

Brio and Barnaby would laugh themselves silly. some should call an ambulance XD

Brio ....Might have a crush on Julie, they always guaranty to make him smile.

Brio likes Frank for his Info on Bugs, Frank doesn't like Brio's Singing Hour

Brio likes the Neighbors dependable Mail man, and is willing to lend him a hand every now and again

Brio although intimidated by Sally's Large personality but when she invites him to preform on stage, he can't help but to sing with her.

Brio really likes Poppy, her motherly nature, her cautiousness and her cooking, Makes him long for the mother he no longer has

Brio definatly Likes Howdy. both can tell a good joke and they have a habit of working fast and talking faster.

First of all, I cannot even begin to express how delighted I am to hear that you loved Touch. It was so much fun to experiment with that prompt and I really appreciate your kind words!

I did put a majority of my fic (including that one) into a private collection awhile back, so it is still on AO3, it's just not visible at the moment.

I'm honestly not sure when I'll make that fic public again, but I sincerely appreciate your inquiry about it and the fact that you went back to reread Criminology 101. That is such an amazing compliment, you are very sweet!

It quite simply brings me endless joy to put brio into any and every angst filled scenario possible, and that last chapter of QuikGrove was one of my favorites to write. Emo Rio and stubborn Beth were really at peak disaster there, weren't they?

Play to Win (A Brio update sneak peek)

After not touching Play to Win for over a year (?!?!?!), I finally found the inspo to get back to it. Just wanted to share a small snippet, in case anyone is still following along at home and wants to flail with me about it. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

She was still ransacking the supply closet when she heard the clear jingling sound of the bells over the front door. Her shoulders momentarily hunched as she grumbled under her breath about forgetting to flip the door sign to “Closed.”

“Uh, hey!” she called out from inside the office. “I’m sorry for the confusion, but we’re actually closed for the night! You’ll have to come back in the morning for your Sweet Lucy fix.”

Her ears briefly strained as she waited to hear the sound of the bells again, but there was nothing. Just a charged silence that was starting to make the hairs on her arms stand on end.

Annie did not have the bandwidth for the “customer service with a smile” bullshit that Beth had been spouting since she’d opened the store. It was that type of “the customer is always right” attitude that led douchebags like the ones who were surely milling around in front of the near empty display case feel like it was ok to linger in the shop even after being told it was closed.

Drawing herself up to her full 5’1” height, she did her best to stomp out of the office so there would be no mistaking how inconvenienced she was.

“Yo, I said we’re…” she started calling out as she was halfway across the floor before the rest of the words crumbled to ash in her mouth. 

Standing at the display case was one of the brawniest dudes Annie had ever seen in her life, sporting several prominent facial tattoos and a bushy, well-trimmed beard that seemed like the perfect offset to his thick, blue denim jacket. 

“Uh…” she started to stammer, only for her throat to constrict as the guy looked her dead in the eyes.

“Yo, these black sesame snickerdoodle things any good?” he asked.

Before she could debate the merits of her decision (like Beth surely would’ve), Annie blurted out the first lie that came to mind. “Couldn’t tell you. I’m allergic to snickerdoodles. All—uh—sweets, actually.”

The guy who looked like he had recently been the leader of a prison gang at Joliet just kept staring at her, not even so much as an involuntary twitch gracing his face. 

Annie’s attention was glued so firmly to the bald-headed man’s impassive face that she shrieked at a decibel level that should’ve shattered glass when another, unseen person began chuckling. 

The taunting laughter continued, doing absolutely nothing to stop her heart from trying to rip its way out of her rib cage.

“That's real funny,” a quiet, deceptively calm, male voice said. “Seems like you must have a death wish or something then. Opening up a bakery when you allergic to sweets.”

Annie bristled. “Well, see, that’s where you’re wrong. This isn’t actually my business.”

The hipster biker took a smooth half-step to the left revealing a tall, slim man with an arresting neck tattoo, dressed head-to-toe in black like he was doing his best Johnny Cash impression. His brown eyes glittered like he knew the punchline of a joke she hadn’t heard yet, and it made her want to squirm under the intense scrutiny. 

“You here awful late for someone who says this ain’t her business. You a manager or something?”

I’ll be honest, Anon, I haven’t been reading a whole ton lately. Definitely having trouble keeping up with longer-running works. But I always try to check for new updates or new posted works. So most of these you’ve probably already seen. But in case you haven’t:

I’ve been very much enjoying the individual works of merelyafigment whose blog I for some reason can’t tag and who’s new to GG fic writing but isn’t new to writing in general, which is apparent in their style and proficiency. Their Brio characterization is really spot on and the latest work has some very decadently slow-building, super hot smut.

@joeyjoeylee has a new fic, did you see, Anon??? Is it Your Move or Mine. Where Brio play their usual games while playing an actual game of chess. Again, perfect characterization, as well as very visually accurate descriptions of that unspoken Brio magic where the silences are as loud (or louder) than their words.

Are you already reading @akg40 ‘s Wreck My Plans, That’s My Man? I’m definitely invested in this one. Onlyfans AU that’s funny and sexy and charming with the Brio banter and pining and jealousy. It’s such a lighthearted and enjoyable read. And I like the way it incorporates canonic aspects while keeping true to the original concept.

@faceless-inthecrowd ’s “Taco Bell Series” (how funny is that name) is a series of soft Brio one-shots as inspired by quotes on Taco Bell taco sauce packets. It’s a light read and good for the warm and fuzzies.

Literally anything by @littleengine74 is a joy to read, but I was particularly excited by their newest one-shot Is This Seat Taken. I’m always a fan of clever structures and this fic delivers so well! An unreliable narration that explores the traumas between Brio in a way only they would – hidden in shadow and pretending not to be pretending. 10/10.

@battlfofendorr has a few introspective one-shots from various POVs up on AO3. I like their style of prose, in particular. It’s such an interesting way to explore Brio, and much more beautiful than I could aspire to write. There isn’t plot, but a fantastic practice of character study. If you like being inside Brio’s heads like I do, I recommend you try these.

The smurf thing, oh boy 😱😱 Well this can cover two different events, aka the show mentioning smurfing once as a term describing an elaborate money-laundering technique (it's a real thing, you can google it), and the fandom going wild with edits, ludicrous puns, and in my case extremely poorly tasted pictures, about it. But also you cannot tell me Rio's hat in season 4 didn't make him look like a smurf!

Nick hitting Rio with the stool, you think I remember why he did that?? 😂😂😂 From the top of my head something something reminding him who's the boss/punishing him for doing his own thing I believe... But like I said, season 4 is very blurry in my mind, I'll leave that to somebody more competent, perhaps as the founders and co-presidents of the Nick Can Choke club @riosnecktattoo and @riosnosestud have a better, more detailed answer?
