oh i just know that james potter had one of those old fashioned wallets that have special pockets for photos in the middle, and it was a fat ass wallet too, he could never get it to shut because he had multiple photos of everyone in there - sirius ofc, effie and fleamont, remus, peter, lily, regulus, marlene, even a photo he took of minny and the boys is in there - because he loved carrying their photos around as a reminder of the people he loved. he'd take money out to make room for more photos.

I think the first explicitly queer character I ever created was in 6th grade (so I’m like 11 years old here) when I made OCs for this story set in Ancient Greece and I had my main character who is a secret demigod and Athenian twink and my sinful little hand started writing a list of side characters and noted down a Spartan king who is antagonistic but he secretly has feelings for the MC. I was like “you see, it’s historically accurate to have... the homo” 

I imagined my MC did not return the feelings and was sort of asexual but I got a little thrill out of this macho Leonidas-from-300-ass Spartan king being an unrequited Daddy with my precious MC

So we decided to find @thou-babbling-brook . I don't remember everything but I do remember that on our quest to find her, we found Haytham Kenway selling 2nd hand dresses on a street.

For some reason he was smoking and had a vibe like this:

Jacob was working in a Bath&Body Works and tried to sell us a candle and Connor was walking a bunch of chihuahuas on a beach that looked like Plage de l'Horloge in Montréal.

I don't know how the things end because I woke up very confused about what just happened.

Same goes for NoHo Hank, given a rote, gay textual subplot this season, bringing out what I think always worked best as subtext. This reminded of me of the grave faux pas of later seasons of Veep: the literalization of the Dan and Amy romance. Veep was not a Mike Schur property: the lovebirds didn’t have to get together, or even ever have a conversation about it. Some people never do! They just had awful, incredible sexual tension for the rest of their lives. What sparkling, exciting TV it would have been if they never did.

I was at a Palestinian solidarity gig last night & the one Palestinian artist who was going to perform had COVID so the organisers asked around to see if there were any Palestinians who'd like to say a few words instead.

A local guy who was born & raised in Gaza offered to speak. He started with "I'm an engineer. i'm not a poet or a politician. I don't... do public speaking… I had no idea what to say when I came up here. So i'm just going to tell you about the street I grew up on."

And then he did! He went down the street building by building. He told us about the ice cream shop on the corner, the grocery shop, the charity that supports people with intellectual disabilities. He told us about the people who he knew growing up, the families who still live in the different houses. He told us about the university buildings and about his friends who quit being accountants to start a band together. All on that street.

All of which is gone now, by the way. Bombed to dust.

Mongolian history class, 2022, start of the semester. We're having a discussion on animal slaughter, featuring the one Mongolian student in our school.

The student explains that he's slaughtered animals himself, and there are two ways of doing it that avoid the spilling of blood. For a small animal like a chicken, you reach up into the chest of the animal and sever the arteries. For a larger animal like a camel, there's a spot on the forehead that, when hit hard enough, causes the animal to die instantly.

While this discussion is going on, a couple of the students are sharing something back and forth on their phone

The professor calls this out, asking if what they're sharing is more interesting than Mongolian animal slaughter

The room is dead silent for a few seconds. The two students look at each other awkwardly.

Eventually, one of the students pipes up:

"Well, the queen of England just died."

And without missing a beat, another student:

"Did they hit her on the head like a camel?"

making a book of my fic(s) and running your fingers across the pages while lovingly whispering my precioussss

doing these things with anything I create for fandom, such as meta, headcanons, au nonsense like 'texts from the brodinsons,' etc

I am not fine with "the audience"

doing any of the above with the purpose/intent of plagiarizing my work or passing it off as their own in any capacity

feeding my work into ai for any reason whatsoever

Save the fandom things. Preserve the fandom things. Respect the fandom things.
