When Bakugou died, you’re not sure how you went on living. Grief had taken over your life, sat you in the passenger side while it cruised off the highway into icy waters. And even then, you couldn’t find the energy to drown.

It’s why there’s a sudden uptick of energy when you’re promised to have him back. Some top scientists contact you months after his death, tell you to hurry down to the headquarters labs, come and rejoice for what you’re about to witness. And you’re horrified, to say the least.

“This isn’t my husband.” Are your first words when you walk in, watch the figure on the other side of the glass examine its own hands. It looks like your husband but—but his hair isn’t the right shade of blond all over. His nose bridge had a slight bump after a scuffle with a villain. He had a scar on his hand but—but it never looked like it was to sew a pinky beside the other fingers.

“Is that really my husband?” You ask next in disbelief, slowly entering the room. Bakugou’s head snaps up, his eyes a little brighter than you remember but—they hold so much emotion. So much memory, so much panic, so much guilt.

“I left you.” He mutters, his voice raspy and ragged, and you wonder if it’ll always be like this now. It makes you cry a little harder than it should, but you only embrace each other. He’s cold and his shoulders don’t hold the same mass and his back doesn’t carry the same scars. There’s one, jagged and rough, running down his back, and you think, you think that’s where they slipped a new spine in.

“Welcome back home.” You tell him, weeks after meeting him again, new and not totally—Katsuki. He’s stiff and he doesn’t immediately take off his boots when he enters, and it worries you. Makes you think if you’ve just let a stranger into your home, one that has stolen your dead husbands face. Makes you wonder if he’ll be as loving as Katsuki once was, or if he’ll become your monster looming over you with the guilt of not being able to rest anymore.

“I’ve missed you so much.” You whisper against his mouth one night, a little while after he’s moved back. You don’t know why you lay under him, why you let him nestle himself inside of you, why you let him hold you against his chest. Katsuki always ran his hands over your cheeks and neck whenever he held you like this, but this…man, only holds himself up with his hands resting beside your head. It’s alien, how he looks at you, how his hips are methodically measured with every thrust, how he kisses you every 8 seconds. You wonder if he’s more robot than Frankenstein monster.

“Why did you come back to me like this?” You ask him one night, barricaded in the bathroom away from him. You can hear his sobs on the other side, his pleading to be let in. He tells you he never wanted to come back if he had to be like this, that he’s sorry, please let him in, he misses the warmth of your skin, he’s never been so cold before, he’s never liked the cold.

“Is this considered cheating?” You ask yourself aloud one night, when Bakugou is forced back to the lab when he becomes too…un-Bakugou. To sleep with a man that is your husband in every way but? Your husband has been dead for a year now, and yet you stroke the chin of the man that tries so hard to be him everyday, but fails so miserably at it every time.

“I’ll come back to you right this time.” Bakugou promises to you when he’s strapped down to leave for the lab and before he’s sedated. But you don’t believe him—you never did. Your husband is dead, and this animated corpse has been nothing but a cheap mockery of everything you’ve lost and something you will never truly get back.

i looked at her and had to blink one, twice, three times to realize it was them all along. clinging to chan as i looked at them and couldn't believe it, what happened to his other girlfriend? it was as if she was gone in the span of a second. (y/n) looked so different, i didn't know if i loved it or hated it. all i knew is that they did all of this for him, because that's where their attention has always been, wanting to be with chan, trying to impress chan and if that required them to change their whole personality for chan's mind to be thinking of them, they would do it.

it pained me to see them look so happy when i knew they were feeling miserable by doing this. i loved (y/n)'s smile, their old one, the true one. i loved their style, their jokes, their ways of showing love and affection (which wasn't making out in the middle of a party with someone who didn't truly want them). they would've never gone through with all of this before, but somewhere deep down inside my mind thinks that they only wanted to be love just like i did. 

"you're already going?" minho asked me and i just nodded, trying to put my mind somewhere else. "jisung i know it's a lot to handle but they're happy now and-".

"save it, i really don't wanna hear it." i said as i walked out and didn't plan to come back.

if i heard minho and (y/n) fight one more time, i would scream. i knew it was common in them that this would obviously lead to sex but come on, this was like the third night this happened in this week. it didn't make it easier that their bedroom was so close to mine and i had to hear them get down and dirty with the worst possible comments they could ever say. everything smelled like smoke lately, it was disgusting and it was because of the habit (y/n) decided to adapt, the attitude that they now portrayed in front of everyone but for minho's eyes only.

it killed me, scared me i would say that they decided to change this abruptly for a guy. they would've never done this before, they were so confident (or at least that's what they showed) in who they were but seeing minho's ex all over him that one day was like a switch went on & off. i remember chasing after them but it was no use, maybe if i did decide to go to their apartment i would've prevented all of this and confessed but i was such a coward, i couldn't even do that.

"do you wanna get out of here felix? i am kinda done with all the noise." which made me laugh coming from chan, who usually had headphones on but god, not even that could help us deal with this bullshit.

"yeah, please let's just go to the studio or something." i said as i grabbed my things and didn't look back.

opening the door and being hit in the face with a full on makeout session of your best friend and your crush was a harsh enough reality that i lived in. it was so weird seeing how the most private person i knew became so out there, how the introverted girl/guy just suddenly blossomed into someone completely different. i obviously knew it was for changbin, he had this look in his eyes when he looked at the new (y/n) like it was a carbon copy of his ex. i couldn't stand seeing the change happen before my eyes but i stayed silent.

i hoped and prayed that (y/n) would come to their ways and realize that what they were doing was not okay for them. switching yourself inside & outside for someone who didn't want them was an insane move but they pulled it off so smoothly for the rest of the world but i could see right through the lies. i loved (y/n) so much, it pained me that they didn't love themselves enough when i was so in love with that version of them and wanted to have them in my life as my significant other so badly.

"seungmin i'm sorry, i should've closed the door." changbin said as he got up and (y/n) looked at me but then her eyes were somewhere else when they saw my glare.

"it's okay hyung, i'll be going anyways." i said, walking past them and getting to my room as quickly as possible so i could forget about all of that somehow.

i couldn't keep my eyes off of them. i was so obviously and utterly in love that when i saw them looking right at hyunjin, i felt my heart breaking slowly. one strike was the night they cried so much that they fell asleep in my arms. the second strike was when hyunjin broke up with his ex, taking full control of themselves but immediately deciding to change their entire personality for a guy. the third strike was right now, seeing them together, a new look shining through but for me it didn't make any sense.

what happened to the old (y/n)? this person just seemed to glow in a different way but it wasn't the same sparkle. i wanted (y/n) back, i didn't know how i was gonna do that or if i ever was gonna get that person i fell so hard right back again but i needed to try. the thing is that as soon as i saw them with hyunjin, that motivation was gone and out the window. they looked great, maybe even better than we ever will but i could read that smile. the fakeness of it all would crumble someday and i would either not be here or i'm gonna be the one to hold them once again.

"innie?" they asked with their new voice, softly mimicking hyunjin's ex mannerisms.

"hi (y/n), can we talk?" i said and gave them a little smile, maybe i wasn't so lost and unmotivated after all.

As an Australian, here’s my live thoughts and explanations about the many Australian things in Heartbreak High. Episode 1.

The aussie accents? So weird to hear in a show.

- (Centrelink gives social security payments to people who don’t have a job and are actively looking for one. I honestly don’t know that much about how it works but it’s not surprising that it gets used an an insult.)

- (I… I don’t even know how to explain this one. Eshays are like a weird subculture in aus. Just…google it.)

Black Flag - Revenge: i've been trying to rediscover my love for some of my favorite hardcore genres, so i took it all the way back to the early days and reconnected with one of my favorite bands. i encountered this song in high school when trying to find clean black flag songs that i could put in a piece i was writing about the history of metal (which the band is not, but hardcore is significant in the history of the genre anyway). it's a great thrash-and-basher and apparently has not been in my playlist until now, which i was unaware of lol

The Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever: once again i must admit to listening to the beetles.... alas. look it's a really good song, the lead-in to the chorus is fucking amazing, the instrumentation is really interesting and unique, it just washes over you like waves of sound. plus it's goofy as hell

Jaga Jazzist - I Could Have Killed Him In The Sauna: from the INSTANT i heard the intro of this track i was like ohhh that's going in the next WILT. i don't have a ton to say about it, just listen. it's good sounds to chew on. shoutout io

100 gecs - Billy Knows Jamie: i freaked the fuck out when i heard this track, no joke. which is funny, because i'm pretty certain they played this when i saw them last fall, but i didn't have any frame of reference at the time for whether it would sound the same on the record. i just kept thinking "they did this for ME. SPECIFICALLY" because like hello??? i'm the nu metal gecs fan!!! that's like my whole thing!!!! and this literally sounds like limp bizkit half the time!!!!! i honestly kind of wouldn't mind if the breakdown at the end had been a little more restrained, just to preserve the feeling that it's 1999 all over again, but whatever. it cums. it's also about violence and killing, so i even get a little bit of like juggalo vibes almost

Fiona Apple - To Your Love: this song sounds so sexyyyy like maybe this is out of pocket but when this came on shuffle on a singer-songwriter playlist i was browsing i literally stopped what i was doing and was just like 😳😳😳 it's insane. and like when her voice gets all growly at one point later in the track... anyway haha

Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run: i was reading this article about bruce springsteen being a sort of icon for butch womanhood and that had me like wow i am feeling emotions right now. and so i went and listened to some springsteen and you know what he rocks. there's something so desperate and heartbreaking about his songwriting, it hits me in a real way. and i've never even been to new jersey

Ada Rook - 920LONDON: new rook album ooh yeah babey. not my fav record she's ever done but still really fucking good. this song kind of reminds me of everlong, which like. girl who's only ever listened to everlong by the foo fighters listening to her second song: getting a lot of everlong by the foo fighters vibes from this. but still it's about holding each other close and making the most of what we have in our rapidly passing time, plus the riffs are kind of similar in ways that i don't feel like fudging musical terminology to try and describe

Sarah Vaughan - Lullaby Of Birdland: cool jazz can be kind of whatever but y'know i'm a vocals girlie and sarah vaughan honestly probably deserves to be listed up there with the greats. her vocal control is insane, and the way she just drifts from her higher register to the lower and back again is hypnotic. good fucking song plus shows props to charlie parker

May Leitz - gODKILLER: another from tumblr, thanks to user bigbaywindow for directing me towards may leitz ^_^ i have been rocking with several of her songs but this was the first one i listened to and it's really good, the lyrics hit me in a certain way as well that some of you might guess. also while putting together the youtube playlist i discovered that may makes youtube videos including one that i've seen floating around my recommended page a couple of times?? so i guess i'll have to see what's goin on over there

The International Sweethearts Of Rhythm - Vi Vigor: am i like. crazy. i would have SWORN that i put this in a previous WILT but i can find no evidence of that being true. in any case this is a cool kinda bebop-inspired jazz piece by an all-woman jazz ensemble who i wanna listen to more of. there's some really great sax work on here especially, so if you're into that def check this one out

Girls Rituals - Hole/The Used: okay funny story on this one. this was the first song i ever heard from any of devi's projects, it was before i even really knew who black dresses was. this song appeared in my release radar and i was like "who the fuck is this" and i'm convinced it only happened because the title is the names of two bands which i WAS already listening to at the time. and i listened to the song and said "this is really bad, and i don't understand why anyone would listen to this." and then i mostly forgor about it. skip forward to recently - i am obviously a big fan of devi's work and plenty of other projects adjacent to this. i get a big new batch of songs in my playlist (hello again to violet shoutout violet) and this song is in here. i listen to it. it's good :) take that, me from two years ago

The Buggles - The Plastic Age: the mandatory Todd Find™ for this month. i was watching the one hit wonderland episode on these guys and honestly didn't pay attention too closely bc i was busy but this song stuck. you guys know i'm all about that campy futurey cyberpunk-adjacent shit. it would be a stretch to say this fully gets there but it's still a fun song either way

Cage The Elephant - Cigarette Daydreams: lame song honestly but the chorus is super catchy plus there's a story. when i was working my old job there was a supervisor i liked a lot who played a wide range of tunes on shift. sometimes it was chill instrumental stuff, sometimes it was metalcore, and sometimes it was like this sort of radio alternative shit. this song specifically would play a lot, as you can imagine, and at the time it annoyed me, especially because of how catchy it is, it would make me think of work. but now both that supervisor and i have left, and so now it just reminds me of vibing with them and making the most of being on the clock. a cigarette daydream indeed

so it's loosely based on la bohème, it's about this american dude christian who comes to montmartre in paris to find TRUTH BEAUTY FREEDOM LOVE and falls in love with this prostitute satine. only satine is being forced into a relationship with this rich duke guy so that he'll give money to the moulin rouge (cabaret club. it is a real place i have been there) to keep it open. chaos ensues. also satine has a terminal disease (that's the la bohème influence).

but it's a jukebox musical !!! but not one of the ones that pisses me off, all of the songs are medleys. the show contains snippets from over 100 different well-known songs!!!!!

it is . so good it is heartbreaking and also an absolute spectacle. so when i went i was lucky enough to sit in the cancan seats which are literally INSIDE the stage. like you go and sit in them and then a platform closes off behind you and the actors perform all around you it's insane. exhibit a, the view from behind me:

if you're looking to go and see a proper serious solemn romance then maybe look elsewhere but if you're going for a bit of fun and a good night out then there is literally no better show to be at. so yeah!!! and idk if you're thinking broadway or the west end but jamie muscato is INCREDIBLE if you're looking at it over here

tldr yes it's amazing and the cancan seats are worth the money 5000 times over

firstly rachel is literally my girl and out of the final 3 i wanted her to end up with him the most they just had the best vibe and banter🥺 as for daisy it is acc painful to watch her bc she’s so monotone and one note there’s literally not much to her🙂 and as for kelsey i never felt anything for her but she really pissed me tf off with that cryptic ass note she wrote for no reason like she 100% knew what she was doing and my heart really hurt for him bc the way he spiralled but i knew it was absolute bs.

Kelsey’s note felt very producer enforced to me because it literally made zero sense. Part of me wondered if that was a test? Like to see how he’d react if he was worried she’d leave…? The motives are confusing to me lol.

theres sooo many different cool and interesting characters that you're def bound to find one you love! atleast i hope you do! i know some of the characters appear very basic and trope-y on the surface (and they definitely are.... thats one of biggest complaints i have for the game and its writing tbh. for fire emblem as a whole actually. but thats something i can dive into later) but yeah! they're all still very lovable :] plus i think the concepts are very interesting and heartbreaking... im sure you'll understand what i mean eventually

evena fter all these years i still hold fire emblem characters close to my heart.... you'll def find your best friend ever im sure of it

i also rly enjoyed the freedom of the classes and whatnot... it may be a bit difficult and overwhelming at first (it still is for me and ive had this game for 3 years now) but its super fun to experiment... and i love how mobile things are!!! thats def one of my fave parts of the game. even characters you think wouldnt exceed in a certain class probably can and will if you put them down the right path... and that's what makes the mechanic so unique and stuff!

first of all. hannibal smelling freddie on will and realising he’s been manipulating him this whole time is genuinely the most upsetting shit ive ever seen in my life. he really truly believed will was gonna run away with him, to quote mads he was “blinded by love” and his face when all of that falls apart is so. he barely reacts and yet he conveys SO much. and i HAAATEEEE ITTTT. and then will calling hannibal to warn him, deciding last minute that he can’t set him up but its too late and hannibal is so hurt and of course he’s not just gonna leave without being a dramatic bitch about it and then the fight scene with him and jack is obviously SO fucking good but then... jesus fucking christ. listen. listen. when i say That Scene in mizumono is my favourite scene of anything ever i mean it wholeheartedly, yet its also the worst thing ive ever seen in my entire life. ok so im assuming if you’re reading this you’ve either seen the show or you don’t care about spoilers so im just gonna put the video here so people can watch it and and relive the pain

THIS SHIT.....IS SO....... i sincerely do not know who i feel the most sorry for. ok well sorry for is obviously abigail cause its hard to pity those other two fucks but hell if i dont feel bad as fuck for them both.

their entire relationship is based on a mutual fascination by and understanding of each other. it starts out with hannibal immediately being intrigued by will because to him will graham is essentially the greatest christmas present in the world. the psychiatrist part of him sees the way his mind works and naturally wants to study it further, meanwhile the Dark And Twisted Cycle Path side of him sees...well the same thing really but with an added element of hm. this man’s entire Deal is empathising with serial killers and holy shit wait im one of those oh this is gonna be so fun. oh wait he....he truly understands these killers....haha would he be able to- lol no he wont be able to understand me surely- and then at the end of the first episode he sees will emptying his gun into garrett jacob hobbs and he sees the look on his face and oh there’s so much potential. and naturally he starts being a real dick about it all and completely betrays will’s trust in every way imaginable and will is so so hurt by it and so naturally by the time he betrays hannibal part of you as the viewer is like well yeah, obviously, of course that’s what he’s doing. fair is fair. but then at the same time...

and will has those same doubts, and he’s realising that for all the hurt hannibal has caused him he’s also helped will understand himself a whole lot better, and while he doesn’t have the complete lack of conscience hannibal does he’s not exactly adversed to killing either, if it’s the right person. and maybe... maybe running away with hannibal wouldn’t be so bad... yeah maybe he should just- but then he remembers abigail. and he can’t get over that just yet. i truly believe if hannibal hadn’t “killed” abigail will would have given in sooner. but even then, he ends up warning hannibal that he’s given him up and that the fbi are coming and he goes to his house and oh my god there’s abigail. and im just imagining... the range of emotions he felt... when he saw her.... betrayal and hurt again sure because hannibal lied to him once more, but also holy fuck there goes most of his apprehension for running away with him and oh my god what has he done. and then he turns to see hannibal and THEEE HURRRRTTTTT IN HIS FACEEE. 

and then he stabs him and off he goes on his fucking speech and i think part of why it’s so effective is that up until then we only ever see slight glimpses of genuine emotion of any sort from hannibal and all of a sudden we get everything all at once and god it’s so much. for the first time in his life someone had the ability and want to truly understand him, something he’d long since given up on if he ever as much as tried (same goes for will, though he doesn’t have the added bonus of an extremely illegal hobby) and even more than that there is someone HE is that interested in? literally the only other person hannibal has genuinely loved up until that point was his sister and even then he was so young and suddenly here’s this guy who ticks just all the right boxes and for a second, just for a second, hannibal allowed himself to be seen and to believe he may have found genuine connection. and he had, technically, it just happened to be more brief than he would like

I've already made my whole ass rant about how i hate that yasmina gets excluded from things so often and yeah, we'll continue on. though i am glad that kato mentions that whatever "it" is starts after sunset.

i love that they're going gender-neutral names with the people luca is seeing because she seems to have that bi/pan feel (whichever label she decides to choose) but i definitely hope that they'll speak more about it as the season goes on especially since yasmina is going to have feelings for younes and that's going to come to a head. they should do better, of course, but it just feels like a hint right now that MIGHT come up later?

I STILL CANT BELIEVE ZHEN NAN WAS FREAKING 61 AND JIN FAN WAS FREAKING UNDERAPPRECIATED WTFFFFF everyone on jin fan’s team im sure was rooting for him bc they knew how he was so vital to their success --- he literally taught them all the choreo wtf chen youwei would be nothing without jin fan..... ughhhh alsdkjalsdkjlaks this is so frustrating im so sad for him....... but now i just really wish jin fan and zhen nan do some really cool stuff and stay active while they wait for the others. i think its likely (sadly) that zhan yu will get eliminated the next round, (but im honestly surprised and grateful that the special teachers recognized his talent! he realllyy killed that ‘retreat’ stage even tho zhenning is getting all the attention) and lin mo is liked by iqiyi (i think) but i dont think he has enough potential to actually make it into the top 9... or maybe its just my wishful thinking bc i hope mr.tyger can go on promoting without jia yi, but without jia yi AND lin mo, itd get pretty rough for them, so if at least lin mo stays behind with mr. tyger, i think they could potentially still do somewhat well in the meantime while jia yi goes off to debut with the top 9 and they wait for him to come back

and now for my random predictions: 

right now its rather fixed that wenhan, guan yue, and jia yi will make it. I think youwei, huaiwei, mingming, chunyang, wang jiayi are all likely, which means most of them will make it (but probably not all), and then xixi.... honestly i feel like xixi wont make it (BUT I REALLY LIKE XIXI) but i think iqiyi doesnt like him enough to give him enough screentime for him to make it (at least at this current rate....) also please note that YAO MINGMING WAS THE ONLY ONE FROM THE TOP 9 who did NOT get to go on that trip to leave dachang coughiqiyihatesmingming but luckily/hopefully mingming is popular enough to get votes anyway, LIKE MINE BC I VOTE FOR MINGMING). other than the current top 9, I think its likely either shi zhan or li zhenning or deng chaoyuan will make it. zhenning is the lowest of the three right now, but iqiyi likes him and hes gotten the approval of all the judges AND he was able to shoot up a ridiculous amount from pretty much just ONE DAY of voting (maybe a week at max, counting from the time they released the solo cams), and these votes have been tallying for the past month. so can you imagine how much more he’ll shoot up next time? he has a ton of potential to make it. shi zhan is already up there but iqiyi really likes him too bc of how hilarious he is, and jolin’s approved his smile so i can see him getting more and more screentime too. yao chi i think is also likely, bc he won 1st place visuals hahah that gets him attention from the public but also the staff, so i think theyll give him more and more screentime too. plus he has a touching backstory and mc jin has approved of him too. i think yao chi is someone who they’ve depicted as really humble and works really hard, and they like his smile. (who doesnt hahaha) but ofc there’s probably gonna be a lot of toss up in the rankings yet to come. from ip1 we learned that 70% of the kids were fixed from the start hahaha but 2-3 of them can come from behind, so who knows. iqiyi seems to really like cheche and wangzhe (how did wangzhe and wu chengze get to go on the trip to leave dachang but not mingming?? i mean i really like chengze tbh but i was just so surprised he was there! hahaha it seems so random bc hes #22?? i mean good for him but still)

anyway im all in all kinda all tired from watching a stressful 3 hrs lol but tbh i feel like they didnt show as much of the fun hotpot time as id hoped... and what about all the other rankings besides #1 visual? i dont really understand why they took a few random kids (who, no surprise, all dont get eliminated this ep) out of dachang for that trip.... i like a lot of those kids honestly, but id rather have seen more of the big group bonding / singing over hotpot (giving some of the kids who get eliminated some last screentime before they leave) or at least like find out who ranked in #1 boyfriend or something like that hahaha.... oh well..... now its time for me to go wallow in some mr tyger content so i can mourn the loss of our two children....

This is probably one of the most insightful conversations about Butch's psyche. His "jealousy" doesn't stem from the fact that it's Blossom, it stems from the fact that it's BRICK. It's not like he has problems getting girls, but, in his eyes, Brick gets everything and then some with no effort....can see why he thinks so. But then again, Brick's still a temperamental man-child with below zero social skills, so I guess you win some you lose some right?  

Buttercup's right though. Butch likes bleeding for things. If he got the same things Brick does while also putting zero effort in it then he wouldn't want it anyway.
