I hope the original nonnie doesn't mind me using their singledad!Price x Daughter's Former Teacher prompt because this was too good to pass up... and I wanted something to procrastinate studying with: (fem! reader, no y/n) --

It wasn't really something Price expected. When his daughter insisted on having her favorite food for dinner, how could he say no? She had just started her new school year and, while she liked her new teacher a lot, she missed her teacher from last year.

It broke his heart at the end of the school year when she was damn near inconsolable at the realization that she wouldn't get to go to your class every day. When she so sweetly asked to go to the shop and get the ingredients for the recipe you taught her class last year, how could he have denied her?

How could he have expected his darling girl to run off immediately after entering the store? He called her name, chasing after her. When he caught up, his eyes trailed upwards from his daughter's form, from the simple but stylish shoes, following the (very-well shaped) legs she was hugging so tightly and found that his eyes landed on your face.

Good god, how have you gotten prettier since he last saw you?

You smiled at him while your hand softly rested on his daughter's shoulders. He felt like his ears had water in them as he listened to you gently remind her, "You know better than to run from your father, hmm? So let's be more careful next time, no matter how excited you are to see me, lovely girl."

He could only pat and stroke his daughter's head as she came to hug his legs and apologize, while his heart felt like it was going into cardiac arrest at the sight of his most precious girl and her former teacher. He'd, arguably, had a fondness and interest in you since last year but didn't (and couldn't) bare to bring himself to bring your parent-teacher relationship into something more.

"It's nice to see you again, Mr. Price," You said, gripping your shopper's tote on your shoulder. Price nodded, "You as well."

"Miss! Guess what we're here for." His daughter said. "Hmm? What is it, lovely girl?" Price had to hold back a groan. Something almost primal in the back of his mind was satisfied at seeing the interaction between you and his daughter.

Apparently, while he had been lost in his head, absorbed in how you interacted so gently, so caringly... almost mothering his girl like she was yours... his daughter had invited her old teacher to their home. Fuck.

Price nodded and flashed a quick smile, "You're welcomed to join us, but if you've already got plans-" "No, that's alright!" You quickly interjected, "I've got nothing else planned except for grading and planning out lessons."

Price couldn't help the words that slipped out next, "Nobody waiting on you?" Heat came to your cheeks, and you looked almost… bashful as both hands came to hold the shopper's tote tighter in front of you. Then, finally, you shook your head, "No. I have nobody waiting on me." Price's heart jumped at the insinuation.

His daughter, impatient at how long the conversation was taking, jumped in. "Okay! Our house tonight at 6, Miss!" She turned to Price, "Papa, you should give Miss your number so you can text her our address!"

Price swallowed hard. He was good at adapting and handling things moving too quickly, but his head felt like he was swimming in molasses. As you handed back his phone, his fingers lightly brushed yours. You smiled as you turned to finish your shopping, "I'll see you both tonight then."

Price lifted a single hand, holding it in the air as his daughter happily waved you off.

And if anyone noticed, he would vehemently deny that he was looking at how your clothes fit you and how your hips swayed as you walked away from the father-daughter duo. (He was looking at your ass, but that's his secret to keep).
