In my half asleep state of painsomnia, my brain conjured a storyline of abandoned human baby Miya being found and cared for by pink kistune Kaoru/Cherry who is joined by obnoxious green dragon Kojiro/Joe in ancient Japan (yes, I’ve looked too long at some certain fanart—I legit can’t find the storyline to that. If you know, pls share link or smthg).

Around cannon age, Miya’s human parents find out he’s alive and since they didn’t have any other son (idk why they abandoned him yet) or whatever reason, they want him back. So like upright and moral, however spiritual, creatures, the kitsune and dragon assemble at the village for the hearing or whatever. Kaoru explains to Miya that those are his birth parents, as he’s explained before Miya’s human and neither him nor Kojiro are his *real* parents.

Miya at first scares them because he goes to the humans, but only to ask why he should ‘return’ to them and see them as his parents when, despite his human nature, Kojiro has taught him how to fly (whoops I’m getting it mixed with my wuxia) and though useless in his hands, he’s able to conjure “fox fire” under Kaoru’s tutelage. They, the humans, didn’t have to leave him to die in the forest (the reasoning explained by now), yet they did.

Likewise, Kaoru had no obligation to glance twice at the sick babe on the forest floor being stung by centipedes; Kaoru could have just as easily devoured both creatures or even taken it to fool the village to worship him. Yet he didn’t. Instead, Kaoru transformed into a human-ish appearance and scooped him up, holding him close and giving heat and love, cocooned in his many tails. He worried after the foreign creature and fussed himself into sickness as to how to care for him, because why would a kitsune who doesn’t have a habit of messing with humans know anything about them much less their medicine?

Likewise, Kojiro had noticed the stressed pair and though also unbeholdent to either creature, wrapped his long body around them and summoned a healing fire in his maw to keep the babe warm for thirteen days and nights as Kaoru suffused spiritual energy into the small body.

They could have dropped him back into the village when he was healthier than a young tortoise and purer than a Buddha, but they didn’t, because the very fact Miya had been left to die sewed distrust. Still, they could have dropped him in another village. Still, they didn’t.

Miya’s life should have ended so early, and yet he’d been raised by beings who shouldn’t have bothered with such a powerless creature, taught great feats of spirituality even though he largely didn’t posses the capability, taught how to hunt; them all learning how human shaped beings did so at the same time, and shown the tremendous respect, loyalty, caring and cunning from the beasts beyond nature.

Even now, they stood in their humanlike forms, letting themselves be surrounded by humans and openly showing their worry to lose their child to the humans that cast him off to begin with.

So no, even if Miya’s birth parents were daimyo, and the great beasts but cat and salamander spirits, there would be nothing that his human parents could offer him greater than what he had with Baba and Papa.

Lemme know if anyone wants to see that.

max takes mike to the skate park half to show off half to teach him and he’s watching max slide down the railing when a skateboard rolls right into his ankle (it hurts like a bitch too) and mike picks it up and sees all the band stickers on the back of it (RAINBOW ONES TOO) and then sees the new kid from school walking up to him and he hands him the skateboard and after he thanks him and mike’s trying failing to be casual “no problem new guy” and will is like ??????? “you’re in my science class?” “ohhh yeah mike right?” and he’s trying so hard to be normal about that so he just nods and then will asks if he can skate and mike just “i can stand on it?? if that counts??” and max scoffs from afar (”barely”) and sees how will LAUGHS with the cutest smile and then offers to teach him and max has a hashtag live slug reaction

Idea

Idk who needs this but I think a near idea for a sk8 fic would be vampiric langa x village boy reki. Why? Because I vividly daydreamed about it at one point and now I need it. Also I just wanna see a vampiric langa do mental gymnastics to conclude that reki is, in fact, the sun and should therefore be worshipped or smth :3.

I can’t sleep, so I’m trying to think of fic ideas instead

- the sk8 found family go on a mission to unalive ad*m

- chuuya gets sick and only dazai is willing to deal with him, but his pm friends try at first

- Soukoku relationship reveal at the Ada, ranpo already knew

- yosano and dazai acknowledge that they have both been hurt by m*ri, and bond a little

- atsushi just wants a day off, everyone else has decided that’s a stupid idea

- Miya keeps showing up at joes restaurant and it becomes a normal thing, he gets adopted by joe and cherry, there’s also angst

- hunter discovers the wonders of noise canceling headphones

- gin and akutagawa have their weekly sibling tea meetup

Kojiro flinched at Kaoru's flat voice- he hated that voice, hated when he got all monotone and apathetic to hide his emotions. Still, Kojiro knew him too well to be fooled by the emotionless display; Kaoru was furious, betrayed, heartbroken, thinking of another boy who left him behind. And it was all Kojiro's fault. But-

But he had to go, had to get out of this place that he'd been stagnating in, had to go and see the world before he spent another day wasting away in his house and wondering what he was going to do with his life, had to go and find something that brought him some spark of joy again.

He sighed, and set down the shirt he was holding before he met Kaoru's eyes. "Kaoru, I'm sorry. But you know how I've been doing these past few years. There's... There's nothing here for me except you, but you're going to university and starting your apprenticeship soon, and I can't keep being such a burden to you. I just... I need a change of pace, something to make life make sense again. But I promise, I will come back. I promise."

Kaoru stared at him for a long moment, then scoffed and looked away, a furious twist to his mouth. "You've never been a burden, Kojiro. But whatever. If you want to go, then go."

And then he turned on his heel, and he walked away.

Hogwarts AU

After the death of his father, Langa and his mother move to Wizarding London, and Langa has to transfer from Ilvermorny to Hogwarts. Langa just wants to be alone, but a certain, broom-obsessed, redhead refuses to do so.

Extra: 

- Reki introduces Langa to B, which is a broomstick racing sport that is held in the Forbidden Forest.

- Reki loves to fly and constructing broomsticks (even adding Muggle attachments to them).

- Reki is bullied at Hogwarts for his poor grades, since he’s in Ravenclaw, but there is more to Ravenclaw than to be smart. Some also make fun of him for his obsession with broomsticks.

Houses:

Reki is Ravenclaw, Langa is Gryffindor, Miya is Slytherin, Joe is Gryffindor, Cherry is Slytherin, Shadow is Gryffindor, Adam is Slytherin and Tadashi is Slytherin.

"bright" for the WIP ask game?

hiii bella <3 thank you for the ask! this is from a renga childhood friends au in which langa and reki meet at a hockey camp in okinawa where langa's visiting family for the summer. this is the very beginning of the fic, the first day of the camp, and they're seven/eight year old

“Hi.”

Through heavy tears, Langa glanced up from his solitary spot on the bleachers to a boy with unruly, bright red hair standing in front of him, his hand raised in a wave.

Langa murmured back, “Hi,” and made no effort to hide his dejection.

“Can I sit down?” the boy asked.

Langa shrugged and sniffled. “If you want.”

Once beside him, the boy’s legs swung from side to side. “Why are you crying?” he asked curiously after a moment’s silence.

After rubbing his eyes, Langa proclaimed, “I’m not.”

That made the boy laugh lightheartedly, and Langa watched, puzzled by the odd sensation his chest. Then, the boy said, “No offense, but you are.”

Langa sighed deeply. “Yeah. I know.”
