What in synastry can make someone like another person but the other person doesnt like them back? Both friends and love relationship

POSSIBILITIES OF ONESIDED DISLIKE IN SYNASTRY💣

I will answer based on MY own observations so having this with someone does not guarantee dislike. I have some of these aspects with people I like a lot.

Mars conjunct Moon: One of them could be very easily irritated by the other for no good reason. Ive seen both situations where Mars was just super annoyed by Moons presence for seriously no reason and Ive seen the other way around too.

Venus Square Ascendant: Something with the Ascendant persons behaviour might just bother the Venus person. For example a Libra Venus might be annoyed by the moodiness and sensitivity of a Cancer Rising since they prefer a more discreet and easy going persona whos always polite. A Capricorn Venus can find an Aries Rising way too straightforward and aggressive in public. Aries Venus people usually find me super boring and too stoic since im a Cap Rising. Venus might not HATE or even dislike Ascendant its just that Ascendant person is just not their cup of tea.

Mars Square Ascendant: Ascendant might not fit what Mars finds to be the sexual ideal and doesnt like how Ascendant handle conflicts and handle themselves in public.(other aspects can change this) A lot of angry tension here. I usually dont like men with their Ascendant Square my Mars because they dont act like i prefer my man to act. Ive had this with a man and his Venus was also Square my Ascendant so we both found eachothers personality so unattractive lol. Mars might find Ascendant to either be too aggressive or too passive depending on the signs. Can be very similar to Venus Square Ascendant but less about manners, style and behaviour and more about sexual ideal and assertiveness.

Chiron conjunct personal planets: One is very easily triggered by the other and the other person doesnt understand why. ”Why does my presence bother them so much?” One of them might feel like the other reminds them of a wound they dont like being reminded of. Ive noticed this especially with Moon. One of them just cant stop hurting the other. This one can be super healing but from what Ive seen most times its a strong dislike from one of them towards the other.

One sided synastry: Exemple: My planets and asteroids touch his Moon but nothing in his charts touches my moon, im just not as emotionally affected by him as he is by me no matter how hard we try (other placements can change this ofc). I actually was a victim of this myself lol. I was into a guy and we started seeing eachother but i could tell something was off. NONE of my planets or asteroids touched neither his Moon or his Venus, he was just never going to be THAT into me.

Synastry chart not matching the natal chart: For example yall have A LOT of 8th house synastry but only one of you have 8th house/pluto placements in your own natal chart. One of you hate this connection and just wants to avoid the other while the other loves it. Ive seen this happen with especially 8th house synastry. One is a plutonian and barely reacts to it and the other is so not used to Pluto energy and finds it super scary and starts disliking the person they have this synastry with.

Mars Square Pluto: Pluto feels like Mars is competing with them and tries to put Mars in their place. Mars doesnt understand why Pluto is so threathened and trying to compete all the time and just wants to be friends. But Pluto sees every move Mars makes as declaring war.

Mans Venus conjunct womans Mars: What Ive noticed here is especially between two hetero people when the mans Venus is conjunct the womans Mars there will be reverse genderroles. Some men can be very threathened when a womans Mars is on his Venus, she have qualities he looks up to and admires but too much and she might be ”more than him” for some reason so he dislikes her while she doesnt understand why bc she just finds him so cute. This can work if both are okey with it tho. Ive seen this in relationships where the woman is the provider and the man at home.

“…a symbol of periodic expansion of man’s freedom of spirit and soul through his widely winging interest far removed from his normal promise,” What comes from this understanding yourself before understanding others. Being YOURSELF in the CROWD. A standout.

However, they even state that detaching too much (dissociation) may lead to “scorn” from responsibilities. Healthy detachment is okay. Just be careful to dissociate yourself from everything. Feeling too much of nothing can STILL be feeling something.

It’s like ever since this eclipse on Monday the 8th, the energy around me has been much more light and open to my energy. Like I can move on and get stuff done. I no longer feel hunkered down as I feel like I can let grudges, bygones, fucked interactions with people (mind the Aries Mercury retrograde) and forgetfulness go.

Not to mention that when I just look forward and keep on keeping on, do I “breathe in” revitalizing energy. I feel like I can take in something new as my friends and career shift to both of what’s needed of me and what are my desires.

Another thing to note was the Eclipse occurred right on my 11th house cusp. If I could call it my Secondhand Midhaven I would. My SM. Cause that’s made my work and creative life so much more passionate and enjoyable. All because of letting things, emotions, and people that did not suit me at all….go.

It feels like that first rainy day after a long brutal heatwave. I can finally feel at ease and hop onto my work.

Extra little notes of what my latest experiences were like:

I started roleplays that go episode by episode in a show and we’ve been doing our own spins on it (creative juices a’flowing babyyyyy)

Spiritual downloads of ideologies that currently don’t exist but may come these next few decades. Something aligned with (again,) Creativity, Chaos, Common Knowledge, Sensibility, Laughter, Understanding divine timing…. TRUE Healing too (not running away or asking too much from therapy. Cause if you’re not growing yourself day by day (of course with a little advice but not too much to over rely) there’s no way).

Just being around friends who understand me. Being around people who are just here for a good time. Fighting only takes so much out of the human spirit. Gotta remember that night will hit and the hay needs someone to rest against it.

Some music I found that matched what it feels like coming out of that eclipse.

This one mainly being the sole reason why I love my state (and how lucky we are to get totality even if it was cloudy as fuck. PEOPLE STILL GOT TOGETHER TO HANG OUT)

This is a side track where it was IN-BETWEEN the two eclipses from Libra Lunar and Aries Solar.

I saw The First Omen and good god did it make me feel the uncomfortableness of it all within that eclipse cycle. It scared me five times not gonna lie. And I haven’t cringed harder than I have since then.

What surprised me was that the Astrology for WHEN EXACTLY I went also lined up with something.

Moon (Emotions/Feelings) conjunct with Mars (Intensity/Drive) and Saturn (Structure/Discipline + Nihilism/Realism). Saturn tends to put pressure on systems it seems unfit or not suitable for the others around. A “YOU BEST GIT YOUR ACT TOGETHER” energy. ESPECIALLY WITH MARS. Not to mention Pisces rules religious beliefs and ideologies that are overwhelmingly large and complex. Combining all four……also added onto the fact that said movie watched was The First Omen…

if this is giving one thing, then it’s giving a man full of ideas. he’d love someone witty who’s good with quick responses, it doesn’t matter if they are relatively quiet as a person or not. leo moons care so deeply about their loved ones (esp together with his water mars!) but he may have a hard time showing it in a serious manner. similar to hao, he’d love discussing literally anything and would probably be a good mix between the best friend type of boyfriend and the romantic type (again, that water mars of his!).

despite his rather carefree air and fire placements, this gives me the idea that dino is a big softie at heart who has an exact idea of a perfect romance in his head. it may be hard to come close to his idealization of love, but i think once he’s found the one, he’d abandon everything he ever expected before. with his leo moon, he could be type to fall head over heels pretty quickly, but be really good at hiding it. he’d be afraid of rejection or how his s/o would fit into his life (as an idol but also in general). so patience is key with this guy, but surely it shall be rewarded with a loving dino by your side!

dating dino is making fun of each other when you get scared of a rollercoaster ride, only for you both to step off it in tears. it’s like the taste of strawberries on a hot summer day, and like entering the cozy warmth of your bed after hours of hard work. it’s randomly gifting each other things because they reminded you of one another and being able to finish the other’s sentences without even sparing the other a glance. it's head bumps and loud laughter, holding onto each other so you don't fall of your respective seats.

Um, hi! I hope you're doing well! I saw your match up event and I'd like to request a Genshin and HSR match up (if you still can ofc, I don't wanna force it owo). I don't really wanna be paired with any of the female characters (as much as I love em, I perceive them more as best friends or sisters than possible lovers, if that makes sense—).

1. My pronouns are she/her. My MBTI is ENFP.

2. I hope you don't mind if I give you more than my big 3 in Astrology, since the planets up until Saturn (especially Venus, since it's in conjunction with my Sun, and Saturn, since it's in conjunction with my Rising) are pretty prominent for me. My Sun is in Aries ♈️, my Moon is in Leo ♌️, and my Rising is in Cancer ♋️. My Mercury is in Aries ♈️ as well (natal retrograde), my Venus is in Pisces ♓️, my Mars is in Aquarius ♒️, my Jupiter is in Libra ♎️ (natal retrograde), and my Saturn is in Cancer ♋️ and a few degrees away from my Rising.

3. As for my appearance, I have a height of 147cm (idk what it is in inches and feet, but it's pretty short, I know, it runs in our family), and I'm on chubby side when it comes to my body, but I sure as hell don't have an hourglass body shape. I have wavy-ish black hair (currently experiencing some form of hair loss tho) that reaches just above my chest. I also wear glasses and my fingernails are often short because I bite them.

4. A lot of who I am is influenced by the fact that I have ADHD (mostly hyperactive/impulsive presentation), so I tend to be restless and hyperactive, energetic and talk excessively, sensitive and emotional (emotional dysregulation go brr haha). I have pretty strong opinions about a lot of things (mostly politics and social issues), but I'd be open to discussion that could possibly change my mind unless I consider the view to be morally or wholly wrong with regards to other people.

I consider myself to be intuitive and able to sense even the slightest change of emotion or energies within someone or in a room, wanting to be the one to support, comfort, and advise someone when they need it. Idk, I like feeling needed and wanted by others. I'm pretty expressive with my emotions and can become easily vulnerable and share/be open about them to others. I do know that I often don't like being told what to do or how to feel, in addition to becoming defensive, closed-off, and silent after being given certain criticism/comments.

5. As for what my friends think about me, they probably find me a bit too overwhelming, especially when I become too restless and overthink and about tasks, but I'm also kind of the mom friend in my friend groups, trying to be a lil level-headed and making sure everyone doesn't get into too much trouble. I'm also pretty affectionate with them, saying how much I appreciate and love them often, confiding to them about how I feel and vice versa. I enjoy showing and giving love to the people I care about, and sometimes I get scared that I'm too annoying or that I'm overwhelming.

6. Other info about me is that I love playing games, designing, and learning in general. My love languages are words of affirmation and quality time. watched renjun and jisung talking about aliens on look at science!

based on the previews, they are getting DEEP into scifi which i am really excited about. ever since i finished reading the remembrance of earth's past trilogy by liu cixin (aka the three body problem trilogy) i've been thinking a lot more about space and humanity (whereas it used to be a topic that i avoided because it freaked me out lol). and i'm also reading the children of time by adrian tchaikovsky which discusses similar themes of humanity in space and such. anyway i am excited to see what discussions this group gets up to!

first topic: do aliens exist?

yo jisung is getting DEEP. so he thinks there is other life in the universe, but humanity as a whole may not be able to interact with them by the time humanity even comes to an end.

the host jung youngjin is doing a lot of the facilitating which makes sense seeing as how he seems like a pretty easygoing speaker.

renjun's theory on aliens is that it probably won't be something we can really fathom because humans' impressions of things, and humans' imagination is based on what we know on this earth.

ji woongbae thinks that renjun and jisung have really deep thoughts about their theories haha. kim beomjun said that jisung and renjun have probably thought about this before.

it seems to me that renjun is more interested in the social aspect of science and science fiction which i think matches his personality

kim eungbin brings up a good point, he mentions that life forms might not exist at the same time as us. so maybe a civilization existed somewhere else, but billions of years before or after humanity has run its course. which also falls into the 'not being able to interact with them' theory that jisung was talking about.

renjun thinks confidence is important for a life form, and he's not wrong imo. all life involves risk, but i think confidence in this case means a creature understanding their abilities before they do a thing, whether it's getting food, scaling their terrain, etc.

omg in this short story, humanity has forgotten why they set out on earth ToT that's terrifying because what if they run out of resources and haven't found a planet yet ToT i tried googling this novel but didn't find much so it might be a novel that hasn't been translated to english.

fifth topic: why do humans want to procreate? what is the survival instinct?

kim beomjun says that life doesn't particularly have any goals. he mentioned evolutionary psychology and how back in the day, people who didn't want children didn't end up having them, and that we only exist because our ancestors had children. that made me think that the reason why we think living creatures want to continue their bloodlines is confirmation bias. we only see the results of those who decided to procreate. maybe a lot of people didn't want to have kids back then, but we would not necessarily know.

LMAO jung youngjin, what a guy. he was saying how perhaps we live because we imagine that amazing things can be attainable.

'why' in science is more akin to 'how'

biologist kim eungbin references philosophers a lot eh. he says that according to plato, the two ways that people leave memories is either through offspring or through great achievements. he also says that because we are mortal, we make every day count.

jung youngjin is saying that the meaning to life will change when renjun has a child haha. renjun was the one who brought up the meaning of life, and the direction of civilization. and jung youngjin counters that here with the fact that the protection instinct of parents towards their children is the instruction manual.

renjun brings up the topic of cloning vs offspring, and whether offspring is necessary if we can just clone ourselves. yes and no. if we can clone at will, then perhaps we might not need offspring. but the point of offspring is that the ones who carry our best traits will live on, so that each generation after us will be more able to survive in their environment via natural selection.

jung youngjin looks at this more from the emotional side, about how there's beauty in variety. i think it does come back to sociology a bit. with variety, then you have people who are good at different things, and they can all make the group stronger in different ways.

ah yeah, jung youngjin brings up the point i made earlier, about how civilization wouldn't advance if we were just cloning ourselves

oh interesting, so even microorganisms who reproduce by splitting (mitosis?) don't make exact copies of themselves 100% of the time.

renjun going full neo culture technology and imagining AI as a civilization. i was thinking along the lines of a being that would survive on another chemical/substance.

kim beomjun brings up a good point. water is very unique because it can exist in different states very easily. it melts at zero degrees celsius, and it evaporates at 100 degrees celsius, both temperatures that we can attain easily naturally

jung youngjin: can alcohol replace water?

ah right, i remember polar molecules from chemistry...a long time ago lol. but i think the idea is that alcohol can't really change states naturally like water can.

ji woongbae explains that water is easier to find anyway, as it's a pretty simple molecule (H2O)

seventh topic: can humans live with AI in the future?

ah so the scientists agree that depending on the definition, AI could be defined as a living creature because it fits some criteria, such as being able to react to stimuli

AxZ Week Day 5: Poetry

In Silver Millennium, Serenity hands her a slip of parchment, claiming she found it tucked into the hollow of a tree where she had met with her beloved Endymion (she suspects that she was simply playing matchmaker).

The words compare her to a pool of water on a hot day, keeping refreshing, serene, and reflective in pleasing rhyme and meter.

Though it’s short, it’s words stir something in the princess of Mercury and she wishes to know who made such lovely phrases on the tiny blue planet that Serenity is so fond of.

Soon, Serenity brings her more messages that flatter her about her mind and her ambitions, mentioning her beauty to punctuate the writer’s fascination with her.

She never finds out who it is, though. The Silver Millennium falls soon after.

He’s in the library, looking for inspiration for a new energy gathering scheme for their great ruler. His last plan had backfired spectacularly (Video rental stores were not an antiquated idea; it was novel and retro!) and he was going to find something full proof. Beryl was getting impatient.

He pulled a book from the shelf and opened it. A piece of loose-leaf paper, folded into eighths fell from between.

Curious, he picked it up and unfolded it.

I wish to share my words, read the lines of text, to let others know my dreams.

The words stir something in Zoisite and, against his better judgement, pulls out a pen and scrawls a reply, trying to match the number of syllables and give it some kind of rhyme scheme.

Your words have found me now, and filled my heart to the seams.

It’s a simple poem, nothing he’d want to show anyone, but at least he got it out of his system. Putting the paper in between the pages of the book, Zoisite puts the book back and heads for the music section. He’d always been interested in that, so maybe something would inspire him.

Just as he turned the corner, a girl with short dark hair and blue eyes turned the corner and took the book he had just replaced.

The two of them stand awkwardly a week after their second (really third) meeting. They could sit down in one of Crown Arcade’s many booths, especially since it was a slow day, but that would mean sitting across from one another or, God forbid, beside one another.

She’s still not sure trusting him is a logical decision.

He’s still not sure if she even wants to talk to him.

The tension is thick and cloying, a sensation like wearing an old frayed sweater by a campfire.

“So… um… you like to read?”

It’s a dumb question. Between the three books she’s carrying and the reading glasses in her pocket, anyone could see that.

“Yes,” she answers simply. There’s no malice in her voice, but no feeling either. It’s a simple fact.

He retreats to his room when he returns home, trying to write his heart out on a yellow legal pad and trying to take his mind off how Mizuno could even tolerate him ever again.

It’s all chicken scratch though. Even simple fluff poems about flowers being pretty seem to be hard for him to write.

A call from his prince draws him out of his stupor and into battle against a leftover creature.

It’s a bulky, bulbous monster called a Daimon that was apparently made by science.

“Are we winning?” Nephrite calls after his sneak attack completely fails.

“Do you want the truth or one of those little white lies to make you feel better?”

Jadeite’s frustration is understandable, if the improvised bandage on his leg is anything to go on. Mars’s fire seems to have no effect on the creature, Tuxedo Kamen and Sailor Moon are pinned by the Daimon’s onslaught with Nephrite and the other senshi are still trying to make their way across town.

“Mercury Aqua Rhapsody!”

Glittering streams of water streak at the creature, enveloping it in ice and suddenly, Zoisite’s mind fills with descriptions for the attack and for the trickling otherworldly harp strings that accompany it.

Even when Sailor Moon purifies the creature in a dazzling display, Zoisite’s attention is still on the Senshi of Water.

The muse has struck him hard and maybe he can work up the nerve to thank her.

She recognizes his words when he submits to her, on a sheet of green paper, a poem about Hermes.

He recognizes her’s when he sees her handwriting in her little blue notebook.

Soon, little notes are passed between them. Verses plucked out of the ether to make little compliments.

Soon, they’re talking at length of wordsmiths and writers; who they like, who has the best descriptions, which would fit with music, which writer sounds like they would have voted for Shinzo Abe. Soon, it grows more intimate. Love poems, shared between the two of them, games that become heated the more passionate the poetry.

And the two of them begin to wonder when their games will be played to a work of their own composition.

"Marekh?" The sounds of soft sobbing as a female remained at the remains of a burnt village, the crack of thunder matching with her frustration and grief. "Mars!" The female looked up as quickly a golden deer came running before transforming into their human-like appearance.

"They are all gone… The chil- I- I couldn't save them. Midnight was-My tribes is gone"

"There is time for grief, now is not the time."

"Aeliu-"

"My job is to get you to safety." Aelius grabbed Marekh and began to descend into deep parts of the earth until it was fully pitch black before light began to arise. "This is a place she will never come to, because it is also the Land of the Dead."

"Dead? I'-"

"You don't have to do anything with the bodies." The two kept descending until landing at what appeared to be a dungeon. Marekh had never seen one, but Aelius told her about the ones he had built before. "Just stay quiet for a minute while I talk things out with-"

"Who?" A voice rang from the entrance and a body came down a set of stairs. "Who did you bring here? It better had not be that wife of yours."

"Look, Stolas. I would never do this unless something truly happened."

"I'm not babysitting anything. Last time it nearly ruined my home. Do you know how hard it is to manage the souls of the dead and send them back with a giant bird in your castle?" Aelius took Stolas into one of the dungeon cells leaving Marekh alone. The sun god picked up Stolas and pushed him against the wall.

"My wife just murdered my sibling tribes and wants her dead due to a prophecy one of your oracles made. I want Mars to remain safe and you are going to take care of her until I can find a safe way for her to be up at the surface or else when the moon cracks, Midnight will come for you and I won't stop her."

"We-"

"If Mars dies, you're next on her list. You know her as well as I do since you're her fucking brother. Either do this or I will murder you myself."

"If you didn't interrupt me; I was going to say since she's down here, I can just train her to take Midnight down. I'm not dumb Aelius, but you keep doing this shit and not giving me a heads up. Send a messager!"

"Are you two done?" Aelius stood nearby the gate and Aelius put Stolas down before walking out towards Marekh and hugging her. Mars hugged back before walking with Stolas up the stairs. Aelius remained standing in the dungeon until ascending through the Earth and back to the surface. He would have to see her in secret. Only time could tell until Marekh could be safe around him on the surface. Until then, there was nothing he could do. He set the sun and went into the clouds where his wife was waiting.

"What's wrong?" He looked over at his once loving wife. Midnight sat down and gestured her hand for the moon to starting rising.

"I found out what you did." His wife went quiet before hugging him almost as if she was trying to soothe him, Aelius moved out of the hug not wanting his wife touching him at the moment.

"Sometimes, sacrifices are made and people betray one another. All that matters is that we are together under the sky." Aelius refused to look Midnight in her eyes and eventually headed out in frustration. He was truly upset about the entire event, but what was more upsetting was she wasn't trying to hide what she did but instead excuse and lie about Marekh. While heading out, Aelius hoped Stolas was a good teacher; if this prophecy was going to come true, Marekh would need to be ready to take down Midnight.

Sapphire sat exhausted watching the sun rise. She had completed the task which she was given which required a lot of digging and transporting of sand before creating new sand to replace the old one. The task itself wasn't difficult but the way to create new sand is what took the most energy out of her.

"If I needed sand this badly, I would had done it myself." A deep dark voice called from behind before picking up Sapphire. "You poor kid, left alone to do the dirty work."

"That's what I always do, Stolas." Sapphire responded as the two began to descend down to the Land of the Dead where a messager was waiting. Stolas ignored the messager knowing it was one of Midnight's but assigned one of his guard's to deal with the problem.

"Remember, don't call Mother. She tracks the usage of that name." The guard nodded before going to talk to the messager.

"How does that work?" Sapphire looked up at the large man who continued to carry her around his castle like structure.

"Every time you go by a tribal name or any of your friends, she can see where you are based on if you say or think it." Stolas responded. "It's how she figured out Aelius had a child, the woman called him by his tribal name, but she never tracks Neptune because Neptune doesn't call him that dumb tribal name of his." Sapphire would have to note this later but for now she was taken to Stolas' office and allowed to help with his numerous jobs as Death. It was less killing and a lot of paperwork. Sapphire was reorganizing Stolas' files based on alphabetical order by last name. Each filing cabinet was the different locations the souls were, in the Land of the Dead, and which were ready for rebirth. It was monotonous but it was better than anything Moth- Midnight would force Sapphire to do. Yet all the work made her wonder what Beary was doing at the moment. She would have to find out later as she was still sorting by last name, the files were long and cabinets were even longer. Once she finished, she reunited with Stolas who was fixing some food, he could go without food but did miss the taste of food.

"Could you inform me of the prophecy again?" Stolas went quiet before handing Sapphire a plate of dumplings.

"It was stated long ago that the earth and stars would turn against the moon. A new person would take her place and the old moon would be sent to the depths of the hell. An illegitimate child, generations of livestock on the hill of trauma and fear and a sacrifice of true love... a chaotic list of events that leads to the downfall and cracking of the older moon." Sapphire sat listening while eating a few dumplings. She had enough time now to fully figure things out. She wrote down a few notes and had more questions than answers but it was better than nothing. "Don't think about it too hard, you will figure it out eventually. If anyone can, you can." A small smile creeped onto Sapphire's face before Stolas gave her the rest of his dumplings before he returned to work. Sapphire sat in the kitchen alone in silence yet felt more safe than she had been in years. Taking another bite of the dumplings, she took in the silence as things would never be peaceful like this again. She eventually sent a messager raven to Wolfie. She would be able to figure out the rest of the prophecy and answer her questions. It was still only a matter of time before they would have to start unwinding the prophecy.

"¡Adelita! Ven aquí, ¡te necesito!" Sist- Adelita quickly rose from her room as that was her mother's voice. She wasn't sure what her mother really needed, it could be anything from needing to know the English's translation to a horrible beast in the house.

"¡Ya voy!" Sister Wolf ran to her mother who was in the kitchen cooking dinner for the familia. "¿Qué necesitas mamá?" Adelita was getting used to the no tribal name rule but she was less used to her mother screaming her name throughout the casa. Her mother stood cooking empanadas while Adelita's oldest brother Joaquín stood at the counter cutting fish.

"There is a raven outside from Sapphire." Her brother responded. "Also Mamá wants to know if the new one eats empanadas."

"Neptune will eat anything you give her, she's not a picky eater." Adeltia opened the door and headed on the porch. "¡Muchas gracias Joaquín!"

"¡De nada Addie!" The raven sat on the porch holding an letter from Sapphire. The raven cawed before being pet by Adelita and feed a piece of fish that Adelita had swiped away from Joaquín during lunch. The raven exchanged the letter for the fish before walking inside to play with the family's dog. The letter was nothing new, Sapphire and Adelita always sent letters back and fourth using the raven and Land of the Dead. Adelita went to her room where she opened the letter. She read the letter quickly before she was needed to help with dinner.

Air Placements, Venus-Mars, and Sudden Intimacy

in which we discuss the nature of the air signs and venus-mars dispositions

I’ve always admired the wit of the air signs – their ability to read people; the way they have with words; this social dance they play at, flitting between moments of chaos effortlessly, reaching a hand out to you, yes you. Come along for the ride, won’t you?

There is a bounce to the intellectualism, the calculated movements of an air sign. Signatures of Mercury (ruling Gemini) and Uranus (ruling Aquarius) stain the triad: Hermes’ winged feet carry him far and wide as the pale visage of Uranus throws mist into his path, obscuring who or what he may encounter on his epic journeys. And we cannot forget the graces of Venus, the Roman Aphrodite, ruler of Libra. She brings a love of people and the unusual skill to curate one’s environment, as well as the self within.

Air is a breath of something fresh, and a whiff of it on a love asteroid or two can manifest as quite distinctive, but a Venus-Mars double whammy?

Before we jump into double whammies, let’s talk dispositors. The planetary ruler(s) of a sign feed into any planet in that sign. As an example, say you have an Aries Venus. Aries is ruled by Mars, making your Mars the main dispositor of Venus and any other Aries placement you might have. This would also be true for your Scorpio placements, as Mars is the traditional ruler of Scorpio.

When Mars disposits into Venus or Venus disposits into Mars or both disposit into each other (disposit is not a word lol), the two planets become connected as if they were aspecting each other, even if they’re not and especially if they are. In my experience, Venus-Mars dispositions layered on top of a close major aspect hit like a punch to the face. 

So where does the air come in?

I’ve experienced two cases of an Aquarius Venus feeding into a Libra Mars. The Mars placement is already an interesting one on its own, with the introduction of Libra’s Venutian love of harmony and justice. The intrigue of a Libra Mars is found in its social mask, as aggression and conflict are pushed away to maintain a fragile veneer of amity. The Aquarian eccentricity of Venus, however, establishes an unevenness: cracks in the mask. 

Aquarius is ruled by two planets, Uranus (modern ruler) and Saturn (traditional ruler), allowing the sign to be read as an attempt to break free from restrictions. Different shapes and stages of Aquarius exist in every chart, and not all are fully matured. The raw, untouched, underdeveloped Aquarius takes on a notable Saturnian coldness, leaning further into the stubborn dogmatism only a fixed air sign could fully bring to the table. This particular Venus signature can weave between shutting out and turning on, and that energy goes straight for Mars if they’re trine. When the Uranian essence does come out – typically quite suddenly, as is the nature of the planet – it can be like someone flipped a switch, and the full aggression of suspended affection is suddenly on top of you, flailing for your attention.

Trade the Aquarius Venus for one marked by Gemini, and the throughline of playfulness runs clear. Mercury-meets-air is a crossroads of tricks and giggles, Hermes delivering his messages alongside good-natured pranks. This can act as a distraction from the Martian mayhem Libra so wants to avoid, but who really cares when you’re having fun? And if these two placements happen to be trine, the diversion will go down especially easy. Expect teasing and maybe even a quick slip into a romantic little vibe, only if the feelings are there.

This doesn’t work quite as smoothly the other way with Mars dispositing into Venus since the Venus placements would be restricted to Mars-ruled signs (Aries, Scorpio), but a mutual disposition is always fun. 

In the event that a chart contained a Libra Mars and Aries Venus in near-perfect opposition, the two planets would be triply tied: Mars would feed into Venus, Venus would feed into Mars, and both would tug desperately at each other from across the chart. Aries Venus brings a spontaneous and magnetic passion, and possible naivete, to a Mars that throws a need for control and prudent self-management right back.

These energies struggle against each other in an attempt to reach one another and yet each informs the other. If the conflict of such a placement goes unresolved, one may doubt themselves in their relationships and along the dual-house axis upon which the opposition lays. Still, there is much potential to be found in the expert mediation of a Libra Mars as applied to the deep attachments formed by an Aries Venus and vice versa, where the unapologetic passions of Venus enable Mars to confront the disputes at hand.

And what if Venus and Mars are conjunct?

When the two planets meet in a sign, they take on the essence of the sign in question, feeding off each other rather than into. Venus-Mars is known for being especially explosive due to the connotation of a union between romantic and sexual love and attraction, but that may not ring true in every sign or house. It’s difficult to sit here and write observations knowing that all charts are so different, right down to the degrees, yet I can say that the concerns of these planets are inextricably linked in such an aspect. It may be in a way that isn’t easily observable to an outsider or has not yet unraveled itself for those whose chart it graces, but there is indeed meaning that deserves to be derived, and it likely exists within the elemental theme.

The concerns of the air signs often tend to have a societal face. Think the humanitarianism of Aquarius or the diplomacy of Libra. Think of Hermes, the Greek counterpart to Mercury; the same Mercury that rules Gemini. The intimacy implied by Venus-Mars could be much more abstract than it first appears. Maybe you’re destined to bring people together by solving conflicts on the streets or in the courts or maybe your purpose is to lighten the very real burden we as humans collectively share. You could be a performer, a socialite, an activist… 

Regardless, this approach to love at the intersection of Venus and Mars is hard to grasp within the bounds of just another astrology observations post, and yet it begs to be observed. It may initially lack the fanfare, the spectacle granted to your cinematic rom-com, but it still manages to reach new heights in epic.

So what exactly happens when Venus meets Mars in an endless sky?

If Kassandra didn't have access to any of her superpowers, how do you think she would fare against Lara Croft in a one-on-one fight? What about Nadine from Uncharted or Abby from the Last of Us? My opinion changes depending on if normal weapons like guns or bows are allowed. If no weapons are allowed, I honestly think Abby would win, but no one else would. If normal weapons are allowed, it gets more complicated. I would be interested to hear what you think.

ooh, great question! And one that's difficult to answer—as you pointed out, it really depends on the situation.

My glib answer is that as a writer, I could show any of these characters defeating any other in a realistic way that you'd believe. That's my superpower.

So without going back to you and asking for more specifics, the best I can do is walk you through my thought process for writing a believable action scene between two characters.

The first thing I think about is the situation and setting: Where are they fighting? When are they fighting? What universe are they in? Are they in our reality as we know it, or the mostly-realistic-with-a-dash-of-fantasy worlds of AC: Odyssey or the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy, or somewhere else entirely?

The situation and setting are crucial. Kassandra and Lara fighting in a traditional dojo would be much different than having them fight in a pine forest, or the war-torn Athens of AC:O, or a mining base on Mars. As Kassandra says to Kyra in The Breaking: "I'm surrounded by weapons." The setting determines what unconventional weapons might be at hand, if any, what cover is available, what bystanders or dangers might need to be accounted for.

Once I've established the setting of the scene, I start thinking about weapons in more detail. Do the combatants have formal training? What kinds of weapons and how much actual combat usage? How does the universe they're in treat weapons? As much as I love AC:O, that game puts all types of melee weapons on equal footing regardless of reach (length). It works within that universe because the game is consistent about its combat, but in the real world a dagger is no match for a polearm and that's fact.

Weapons tilt the table. Think of the moment in the Tomb Raider reboot where Lara gets that first gun. Her opponents could have 20 years of martial arts training and outweigh her by 50kg, but that doesn't matter a whit against a ranged firearm. The gun is the equalizer.

Setting matters. Weapons matter. Only when those parameters are sorted do I consider the physical abilities and hand-to-hand combat experience of the respective fighters. There are so many what-ifs to consider, and making everything fit together makes for a good logic puzzle. (And I haven't even gotten into the characterization aspects of writing action: not everyone has a killer instinct, and that matters!)

But let's go back to your original question and simplify things by thinking of the most basic scenario for unarmed combat: a bout taking place in the real world, in a neutral location like a dojo.

Even without superpowers, Kassandra is an impressive physical specimen. She has the strength to overpower opponents and the advantage of reach. She'd have a disadvantage in endurance, however, since all that muscle mass she's carrying is going to need energy to move it. (A good example of "strength vs endurance" affecting muscle mass can be seen in sprinters vs marathon runners.)

We'd also have to establish which Kassandra is fighting: young Kassandra (as we meet her in Kephallonia) or Kassandra at the top of her game, winner of the Olympic pankration and honed by at least five years of fighting damn near every mercenary and soldier of renown in ancient Greece.

To defeat her in unarmed combat in the real world, an opponent would have to:

outmatch her in physical ability and have just enough hand-to-hand combat experience to use it to their advantage, or

equal her in physical ability and hand-to-hand combat experience, or

have so much more experience that they could overcome all of her other advantages

That's a tough ask, and I don't really see Lara, Nadine, or Abby having enough hand-to-hand combat experience to pull it off, even against a young, less experienced Kassandra. I think Abby would come the closest, and if she went off and studied a bunch of hand-to-hand styles intensively for several years she'd make it an even fight.

So, to recap: it's definitely possible to contrive situations where one of them could defeat a non-superpowered Kassandra. I'd choose a setting and weapons that would support the challenger's strengths, and adjust Kassandra's experience accordingly.

Setting matters. Weapons matter. Experience matters.

And here's the new PSO inspired magic circle I wrote! (that's tailored to specifics that I'm not getting into) As well as the traditional Algolian seal (I've broken down a bit of it here) and the first magic circle I built

I'M GETTING MUCH QUICKER AT THIS!

I drew every symbol instead this time, I find it to be the one thing easier to draw on tablet than paper, I think I'll go back to the other method next time tho it looks neater.

Ok into a bit on how its wrote/the magic building for those curious :3

So I went over a bit on it yesterday but here's the full circle that there was no way I was fitting in that tiny space.

Magic Circles are now the thing I study when I'm having my after work drink at the bar ^^;

The 3 outer circles (I keep referring to as Muut Ditts Poumn circles) while they all hold the main energies, they're all lions :3 The alchemy symbols for essence pokes out of them and toward the middle text. Leo as well as the 2 Divine beings, each associated with the Sun and the Moon. In the outer ring, where the Photon Blasts would be listed, I have other Gods that represent different phases of the Sun and the Moon, Moon Gods being separated by the female end of the ankh, as the moon is of feminine mother energy against the masculine father energy of Leo's ruler, the Sun. Sun gods border the rising & moon signs of the initiator. I probably put a bit more time into the order of the names in the ring, but PSO isn't actually conjuring magic outside our hearts and is allowed to be whatever about that.

I'd also only use the Ankh with Egyptian Gods as I only work with them aside from "celestial bodies". There is more detail on the significance of the ankh in the first post. The reason its positioned sideways is I learned horizontal lines can be a negative aspect, where as vertical lines are always positive. I still have a horizontal line in this, but with it being only one, the numerology plays in to it enough, I also didn't HAVE to add it but felt it necessary. The magic numbers are 1 and 7.

The Divine are placed in their directions in accordance to the element. Sun to the South for Fire, Moon to the West for Water. Leo is placed east due to the affinitive candle color. East represents air which is the main element of the target.

The alchemical symbols I used aren't all available text symbols, but here's what's there. (I've used so many reference books for these and they don't match each other either it just is what it is I guess)

I was also able to place the alchemy symbols a bit neater this time because I didn't have odd numbers of them like in the Algolian Seal spell. The circles with the points in the outer circles represent wax, there is also a wick symbol in each of them as well as different things to dress the candles with such as oil, herbs, and fumes.

Sorry its not quite as in depth as the Algolian Seal inspired one, since its more religious sided I figured I'd skip the deeper details. Hope it was a fun read and it helps if u wanna build magic circles one day or something :3

Has anyone ever covered the subject of 'What if Fingolfin was the son of Miriel, and Feanor the son of Indis'?

Obligatory disclaimer: all characterizations are at least 50% headcanon/theory.

I almost said, "I'm not sure that would even work", because so much of Fëanor is shaped by being Miriel's son and so much of Fingolfin is shaped by being Fëanor's younger brother and chief rival...and especially, so much of Fëanor's huge role in the narrative is shaped by being Miriel's son... But the thing about Fëanor and Fingolfin, if not the then certainly a reason they could never get along, is that they're far more similar than either will admit. So I CAN tell you how the early years go.

First: accept the premise that canon!Fëanor, son of Miriel, really literally has superelvish strength of fëa. At minimum, he got, like, half his mother's; possibly he got enough for the like 4 additional children Miriel might've borne to Finwë had she not been a creatively ambitious madwoman. This is how he had the literal creative energy for groundbreaking inventions in multiple disciplines (notable linguistics, jewelcraft); this is how he spoke so forcibly that a herald of Manwë bowed and got out of his way; this is how he scarred his savage intent into the very melody of Arda, shaping events hundreds, maybe thousands of years after his own death. This is why it's impossible for anyone to have a neutral opinion on Fëanor - people loved him or hated him, but there was no ignoring him.

[Sidenote: we as a fandom don't spend enough time appreciating creation as a holy act. The Secret Fire, the means by which Eru gave life and sentience to everyone from the Valar to the Edain, is the purest power of creation. Elves should view all art and craft as inherently religious acts!]

Of course, some one that was just Fëanor, and the Oath was so very permanent because (to my mind) Eru is the sort of parent who's like, "you want that [self-inflicted curse] for a permanent tattoo? Okay, I'll support it, but don't come begging for me to undo it..." And canon!Fingolfin very much had his own Going Off in Glory moment, and did rather more damage in his final fight...but I'd argue that Fëanor was NOT at his best in his final balrog match, whereas Fingolfin...well, he was fell and fey, but he focused it in a way I think Fëanor no longer could when he charged ahead. I'd say that Fëanor had already spent much of his astonishing strength on the Silmarils, on the Oath, on standing up in the immediate wake of the declaring of the Doom and filling his people with such fire that most of them, let's be real, still followed him to Middle Earth even after he tried to abandon them - and the rest of them helped him abandon over half their forces and then charge into battle.

SO. In this motherswap au, it is Fingolfin Nolofinwë Arakáno who is born with that raw strength of spirit. Arakáno is the name he keeps, because it is the name given to him by his mother, Miriel Þerindë, whom he killed with his birth, reminder to all of the unhealable Marring of the World, and he will not let her be forgotten.

Finwë sees Indis of the Vanyar and her love for him, and returns it; the Valar allow this and Miriel allows it and declines to return to life, and Arakáno is...fine. He's fine. (Finwë isn't an idiot, he's worried how Arakáno is taking this - he's always worried about how Arakáno is taking everything, ever since Miriel died. Ever since Miriel first left for Lórien. But if Arakáno won't talk about it, and he does seem happier when Finwë lets him help with things...)

Because of course Arakáno wants his father to be happy, of course he is happy for him, and for Indis! They should have all the time they wish together - would Finwë like him, Arakáno, to handle this day of sitting in judgement on disputes brought before the throne? He's been studying law and justice with the loremasters... Would Finwë like him to oversee this committee on the building, and the building itself, of these new towers in the southern part of the city. Oh, and could Arakáno please sort out that affair with the silversmiths? He has some theories of conflict resolution and internal management he wants to try...

(There's no indication in canon that Fingolfin ever had notable skill at any creative craft - but the Noldor were famous for lore as well as craft, so by the Valar, Arakáno who is not Marred will study. And he clearly had no small skill at leadership - a natural talent in canon honed by practice, here not only practiced but augmented by that raw strength of spirit that could light fire in an entire people.)

Meldayendë* Findis, Fëanáro Curufinwë, Lalwendë Irimë, Ingoldo Arafinwë... Arakáno is always polite to his younger (half-)siblings. He plays with them for an appropriate few minutes whenever his father or Indis asks, or sometimes even when the (half-)siblings themselves do. At worst he is curt when he says that he's busy, and chivies them gently but firmly from his rooms. And with every breath he silently says: this is my city, this is my kingdom and my people, this is my place in Father's affections, in the Noldor, in the Great Song of Arda itself, and you are not wanted here.

*Meldayendë, Q. "beloved daughter", mothername I made up on the spot just now. Findis was named while Finwë and Indis made hearteyes at each other; this much is obvious in canon.

Every now and then, Arakáno forgets himself, or he's desperately lonely, or he decides to heed Finwë's asking to just try a little harder to warm up to them, and his (half-)siblings win a genuinely approving or even fond smile. They all live for this, because how can they not love their older brother? He's as bright in spirit as a star come to the ground, he's beloved of the whole city, he's the cleverest person in the world except for Father... They all hate him, because he clearly despises them, even if Father pretends not to notice, and when Arakáno walks through a room first, bright and charming, everyone is a little colder to them in his wake.

(Fëanor was, is, always fire, long before he turned himself into an all-consuming blaze that was briefly the only light in the Dark; Fingolfin was, is, always fire as well, but one that was so concentrated in its burning that it grew hot enough to be as cold as ice.)

Findis goes to study among her mother's people in Valimar, and rarely returns home to Tirion, where Arakáno is Prince. Arafinwë goes to Alqualondë. Lalwendë is the only one of Indis's children with a knack for the currents of court, and she is just stubborn enough to not abandon Tirion completely (though she often visits her oldest and youngest full-siblings). Mostly she makes herself not a threat - she laughs, she flirts, she throws parties.

Curufinwë is the only one who sometimes makes Arakáno's cool break in temper. Of all Indis's children, Curufinwë looks the most like Finwë, the most like Arakáno, which shouldn't matter but it does. The Noldor hew to their beloved crown prince - beloved of the people, beloved of the king - and rhetoric is a most-admired craft, and Curufinwë has no natural talent for it...but it's quickly obvious that he has a natural talent for most other crafts. Linguistics! Smithing! Jewelsmithing! He has a creative zeal, some murmur, that has not been seen since Miriel Serindë herself...

(Finwë murmurs; Finwë tells Arakáno, trying to give him reason to draw close with his younger (HALF-)brother...)

Curufinwë all but runs away from home to go apprentice with the Aulendili, years younger than most such apprenticeships start, and Arakáno, who of course did nothing to encourage it, is quietly, viciously satisfied. Curufinwë all but elopes with Nerdanel Mahtaniel, and they immediately run off to explore a promising vein of marble in the southern Pelori, for Nerdanel's sculpture and Curufinwë's...whatever craft Curufinwë is interested in this year. Arakáno gives them study traveling packs as a wedding present.

(Curufinwë all but eloped just when Arakáno was about to announce his own engagement with a wonderful elf named Anairë, who is the only person he's ever met who can consistently beat him in an argument. Arakáno told himself this is coincidence, there was no way Curufinwë knew - and anyway, when had hot-tempered, impulsive Curufinwë engaged in any sort of planning?

Finwë was briefly positively gleeful about the idea of his sons having a double-wedding. Curufinwë and Nerdanel explained that this was a courtesy notice and they were going to get married tomorrow night and immediately leave for this promising marble they'd heard about. (Curufinwë briefly considered doing it just to prove that they could, but Arakáno would be so much better at the smiling and pretending this was all fun and fine, and anyway, he didn't want to have a wedding in Arakáno's city; he wanted to marry Nerdanel.))

The honeymoon is cut short, of course, by the need to return "home" for Arakáno and Anairë's wedding, which is as grand and glorious all the craft of the Noldor could make it. Now, I will say, as I say for canon, that there are just enough emotionally intelligent people involved that no children are ever conceived out of pure spite/competition/etc, nor even mostly nor muchly spite/competition/etc. But I will say that Anairë gets pregnant sooner after her marriage than she would in another timeline (and everyone watches her pregnancy and post-partum days very carefully, much they way they used to watch Indis), and Arakáno names his firstborn son Findekáno - "chieftain" from his own "high chieftain" and the "fin" which is nearly synonymous with the Noldorin kingship; his line and Finwë's and nothing else matters.

Curufinwë and Nerdanel, in any timeline, have children with 0 sense of political timing and 100% horny creative enthusiasm. But when they bring their firstborn to court, Curufinwë - who never does anything by halves - announces that his name is Nelyafinwë, third Finwë, and there's really no possible explanation like "first child of the third generation" this time.

(War, then.)

(Another constant of the Song, no matter the key: Findekáno will be impulsive in spirit, always happiest riding out of the city to hunt, camp, jump off cliffs for the joy of the splash and challenge dragons for the defense of his people. Nelyafinwë will have his father's temper but honed to, if not a cold flame, then at least a sharp, precisely wielded blade; he will always be happiest with ink on his fingers and a well-argued law just passed for the improvement of the roads. The only things they will love more than each other are their loyalties and duties to their respective houses. Sometimes this will save the Noldor and sometimes it will doom them.)

Curufinwë and Nerdanel promptly leave the city again, newborn in tow, to explore some quartz caves in the west.

For several hundred mostly happy years, it goes like this:

Ingwë has long-since left Tirion to sit at the feet of Manwë upon Taniquetil; he is still High King but that always mostly meant he was tie-breaker between his younger colleagues. Finwë is King in shining Tirion, his people still love him for leading them through darkness to light - and they love their Prince Arakáno at least as much, and the two of them pretend Indis and her children don't stand between them. (Finwë hopes time will make pretense will wear gently into reality; Arakáno knows it never will but for love of his father, he won't escalate unless provoked; Indis is...getting tired of this.)

Findis stays in Valimar. Curufinwë and Nerdanel mostly only return to Tirion to briefly present Finwë and Indis with new grandchilden - though they stay for a few years after the second while Fëanor throws himself into study with Rúmil, and eventually emerges with the Tengwar, which immediately catches on. Lalwendë is a laughing, harmless gem of the court, Noldo enough to admire beautiful art and attend and discuss lectures, but she has neither craft nor study of her own. Arafinwë falls in love with Olwë's eldest daughter and they do literally elope, the first notably rebellious act of Arafinwë's life, and live by the shore.

Eärwen confesses to Nerdanel that she and Ara are thinking about having a child, but she's a little nervous. Nerdanel says, "I'm just waiting for Curufinwë to finish his current project before we have another - why don't I send you a message when we've begat our newest, and you and Ara can come together then, and we can go through everything together? I'm happy to be a guide - this will be my fourth, after all!

(Boy oh boy, if you thought Finrod and Turgon were a dog + cat combo... Anytime in the future:

Finrod: Hi, I'm Findaráto, and this is my cousin and best friend, Carnistir! Caranthir, glaring and maybe holding a knife: If you make him sad, I'll make you with you hadn't been born. Finrod: That's Carnistir for 'It's nice to meet you!'

That works so well, and overall time is wearing pretense just a little bit into reality, or at least, the raw power of (grand)children is mellowing everyone, that Arafinwë does the second bold thing in his life and goes to his eldest brother Eärwen goes to Anairë and says, "This worked really well when Nerdanel and I did it, so... Ara and I are thinking of trying one more time for a girl. Would you like to try coordinating pregnancies and births? And regular playdates? So maybe family holidays will be slightly less terrible, if only because Finwë is vibrating with joy?"

(Irissë and Artanis simply do not vibe, unfortunately. But the thought counts a little.)

(And Tyelkormo introduces Irissë to Oromë's Hunt, and she is quickly so skilled a shot that she hunts in white and cares not what sees her. Findaráto befriends Turukáno against Turukáno's will, because between Carnistir and Artanis, Findaráto is emotionally attracted to people who will escalate any conflict. Angaráto and Aikanáro conclude that Findekáno is the Coolest Person Ever and he delightedly takes them under his wing - when he's not busy staring a Completely Normal Amount at Nelyafinwë Maitimo. Maitimo, when not staring back, learns statecraft from his (half-)uncle and grandfather with a determination that is part personal interest, part desire to make everyone get along, and only a little bit knowledge that his father isn't very good at this but clearly someone needs to be if they're going to have a real foothold in Tirion.)

...But somewhere in there, Melkor is released. Olwë turns him away, but Finwë, hopeful and invested in the concept of reconciliation, bids him welcome.

And then Curufinwë, greatest in skill of the crafty Noldor, creates the Silmarils.

Now, a couple posits about the Silmarils:

Fëanor literally put some amount of his own fëa, shorn off the whole, into each gem. Possibly that's why they hold Treelight they way Elven eyes do.

This is NOT HEALTHY for an elf who wasn't literally born with extra fëa-stuff.

In every timeline, Fëanáro Curufinwë would do it anyway.

So Curufinwë is... So long as he has at least one Silmaril on his person, he's fine. Two is better, three is best. If they're out, lighting the room, he's more than his best - that is still concentrated Treelight, after all. The pinnacle of Noldorin jewelcraft. Varda herself has hallowed them. Anyone would be hale and glorious while wearing all three, their creator certainly not least of all.

(But otherwise, he's...tired. He's never not tired anymore, save with Silmarils against his skin.)

Needless to say, Finwë wants to go back in time and STRANGLE himself for ever comparing his too-brilliant second son to his too-brilliant first wife. He's handling this with a combination of anxious doting and loud praise (the most concentrated amount of either that...any of Indis's children have ever gotten from Finwë, reminiscent of his anxious care for Arakáno, well, before Indis). Also needless to say, Arakáno is...conflicted. On one hand, Projecting About Mom Hours, with a side order of I really must be Marred, to spread this curse to so many around me. [Note: do NOT tell me canon!Fëanor didn't have these thoughts.] On the other hand, of COURSE Curufinwë, "[mocking tone] craftiest of all the princes of the Noldor", had to go and do this, with an excuse to wear them constantly. Hallowed by Varda - yes, the Queen of the Valar who gladly dismissed Miriel and her real heir, in favor of Indis of the Vanyar and her spawn...

(Morgoth whispers, greed awoken...)

Arakáno corners Curufinwë and delivers a blistering lecture mostly on the theme of how you could be so careless; how could you do this to Father. Curufinwë, the only one who can regularly provoke his older brother to real temper, snaps back something mostly along the lines of, I'm so sorry you're jealous that you can't!

This is not a world where it has ever occurred to anyone to question the place of Finwë and Miriel's son in leadership of the Noldor - indeed, Finwë is King of the Noldor, and does most diplomacy with the Teleri, Vanyar and Ainur, but for all practical purposes, Arakáno rules in Tirion.

...Anyone but Curufinwë, whose first son is named Nelyafinwë. Curufinwë, now plainly proven greatest of the crafty Noldor in their most beloved art of jewelsmithing. Curufinwë, who regularly wears one, two, or all three Silmarils on his brow, and so walks in a halo of blessed light.

(It's barely occurred to Curufinwë to question Arakáno's leadership of the Noldor, his place as Crown Prince of Tirion, any more than it would occur to anyone in canon to question Fëanor's place as greatest, most skilled crafter of the Noldor. Like, you could, but infuriating as it may be, you're objectively wrong. Curufinwë will even admit, to select people these days, that he doesn't want the job himself - maybe Lalwendë could do it? Or, y'know, Father could actually do his job. Most importantly: why should he, his siblings and all their children and their mother, always, still, feel like barely tolerated guests in the city of their births? Why should Arakáno get his way all the time?)

(Melkor whispers...)

"Oh, you want Tirion?" Arakáno challenges (in much finer language). "Fine! The Noldor aren't a place, they're a people (you half-Vanyar mongrel). We were Noldor when Finwë led us in the Great Journey, we were Noldor when we arrived in Valinor with nothing, and built our realm here with our own hands - we would be Noldor if we returned to Middle-Earth, and built realms anew there, with no oversight from the Valar at all! In fact, maybe we'd be more Noldor, achieving greatness with nothing but the skill of our hands and the wit and wisdom of our learning!"

"The skill we learned from Aulë? A 'we' in which I include myself, proudly! The learning of, what - forestry and plant-husbandry from Yavanna? Hunting from Oromë? I have left the city and lived in the wilds, brother. What do you even know of building anything with your own hands at all?!"

"Yes, we all know of your much-acclaimed skill, oh blessed, shining peacock. Thank you for your agreement, wisely said for so many years, that more of us would be happier wandering afar! You and your family are, of course, a prime example. How well we might make ourselves - unless you're scared to leave the so-called protection of the Valar?"

"The so-called - !"

"Are you and my mother not proof that the Valar cannot keep the promise they made 'our' father of a land of bliss? Or maybe they never meant to keep it..."

"The Valar cannot shield us from knives we drive into our own sides out of pride- no, arrogance, and jealousy."

"Oh, so you admit it!"

(Melkor whispers...)

"King and father, wilt thou not restrain the pride of my brother, Curufinwe, who is called the Spirit of Fire, all too truly? By what right does he speak for all our people, as if he were King? Thou it was who long ago spoke before the Quendi, bidding them dare the long, dark road to peace in Aman. Thou it was that led the Noldor through all the perils of that road - only to be betrayed here at the last! It is your own fire-spirited son who now most suffers from the seductions of this land, just as my mother, Miriel, your beloved wife, did. So I speak as you did long ago, and beg you: reconsider!"

And then...

Well, it is always going to be fire-tempered Fëanáro Curufinwë who draws a sword on his (half-)brother in the king's hall.

And the Valar will always cry foul at the explicit threat of violence. They do want to maintain the peace they promised. And no act is so plainly destructive, anathema to the thesis of the Secret Fire, as to take a life outside the course of nature.

So Curufinwë is exiled, and many of his followers go with him. His sons go with him (Maitimo and Findekáno have barely spoken in weeks). His wife...may or may not go with him; I'm not sure how their marriage is going right now. Better than canon, but is it good enough??

Lalwendë doesn't go with him, but she does go with Indis to Valimar, which Findis never left. She'll go to Formenos later, and Arafinwë's family in Alqualondë. Congratulations, Arakáno, you win. They're all gone.

Finwë goes with him. Arakáno...clearly needs his father, and will only think his fears true if Finwë leaves him now. But so will Curufinwë, there is no winning that puzzle, and he'll leave Arakáno Tirion and the crown. It's been many centuries since Finwë's beloved eldest son wanted his father more than he wanted the city, the kingship, the Noldor. [Finwë is wise, but he's also, sometimes, just a little bit very stupid.] It's understandable, given how much FInwë has failed him - failed all of them, his children, his wife and his people. Arakáno will calm down, Arakáno always calms down, and they'll talk it out.

And Curufinwë is. This exile IS wrong, this is a matter for the NOLDOR; Finwë asked Manwë for judgement on his marriage but not on this, it's not helping. And Curufinwë is- It's Miriel all over again, okay? It's Miriel all over again and when you get right down to it, Finwë cannot leave him.

"Behold the blessings of the Valar," Arakáno says, back in Tirion, rhetoricking half on instinct. The city is bathed in Laurelin and Telperion's Light as it ever was, yet it's darker without the Silmarils - which Curufinwë, of course, took with him. As he took Finwë, so all other victories are hollow.

Truly this land is cursed, rather than blessed. Truly, his half-siblings bring nothing but pain.

(Findekáno has punched three walls. Arakáno knows full well where the dog hairs on Irissë's robes are still coming from. Anairë is sleeping in a bedroom across the palace, and when he makes a dry joke that a flies right past a courtier's head, he finds himself thinking, Lalwendë would've noticed, and laughed one of her truer laughs.)

In Formenos: Maybe Arakáno is right, Curufinwë thinks bitterly, if this is what trusting the Valar gets him. Of course, Father has sided with him for once - ha! Ha! Also, Melkor came by, and telling him to fuck off was satisfying.

(But Maitimo has locked himself in his bedroom, as has Carnistir; Nerdanel has been sleeping in a different bedroom since it became clear what the Silmarils had cost him; when he lets his fury fade, he, too starts to wonder if this was the best idea - Arakáno was right that he's distressed Father...)

The Valar once more consult no Eldar before declaring a grand festival of reconciliation but it...isn't entirely opposed by any party. Finwë stays in Formenos until his son's exile is formally ended, and because Curufinwë leaves the Silmarils behind and Finwë doesn't trust them unguarded. In fact, he sends all the children out on a hunt, and all assorted attendants with them or on other errands.

Curufinwë leaves the Silmarils behind as a good-faith gesture of humility (which Arakáno had better appreciate). He'll be fine for a couple days of journey and return - even Miriel didn't fade immediately! Nerdanel joins him, and Indis meets them there, and will return with them to Formenos, in case he needs holding-up in body or spirit.

"As I promised, I do now. I release thee, and remember no grievance," Arakáno says before Manwë's throne, holding out his hand, and means it. Curufinwë is a fire-tempered idiot and Arakáno had been provoking him for, oh, years. It's barely even his fault that he drew that sword.

"Half-brother in blood, full brother in heart will I be." Curufinwë takes his hand, and means it. "Thou shalt lead and I will follow. May no new grief divide us." Because really, deep down, this is his older brother - as bright in spirit as a star come to the ground, beloved of the whole city, the cleverest person in the world except for Father.

"I hear thee," says Arakáno, and doesn't smile approvingly nor fondly, but there's a hint of what could be in his eyes. "So be it."

And then the Mingled Treelight of the world, the same Light captured through skill and foolhardy craft

hello! could you do an ideal type/soulmate reading for jaemin please?

Jaemin Romantic Partner Reading

Disclaimer: Babes, you already know the drill, but I have to mention again that we don't have Jaemins birth time, so take this all with a grain of salt since the analysis will not be as in depth. Also, how do I approach this reading? My ideal type readings are not based on what the person potentially thinks of as an attractive/desirable partner only based on Mars, Venus, Moon, etc, but rather a coherent reading of the patterns and elements of the chart, and what type of person would fit best and match the overall energy of it, by fulfilling and attending to the needs of the birth chart!

So the the things that I think really pop up in Jaemins birth chart is the heavy Uranus/Neptune influence (oppositions mainly) on his inner planets (particular his Leo Stellium and Moon), his Virgo Venus as the apex planet of his T-square, as well as his Leo stellium. Since we have no birth time, neither have I ever gave any real thoughts to his potential rising sign, I'll go with a Capricorn Moon.

I'll start with the Uranus/Aquarius, Leo and Saturn influence first. Here, I want to point to the opposition between his Uranus and personal planets in Leo at first.

First and foremost, what might be needed and desired by him, is someone who understands and can work with the fluctuating energy and moods of his. Jaemin is like a light-switch when it comes to his energy, he is known to be a very ambivalent character, jumping around the room in a minute, but also showing a very phlegmatic, exhausted behavior the next. I know that being a celebrity plays into that, that it's a potential consequence of him being part of the entertainment industry (from a very young age too), but performing in general (doesn't matter if it's on camera, on stage or both) could push this effect to the max. He also has a mystical rectangle pattern in his chart, amplifying the tense inner nature, yet 'cooler/composed' outlook he gives to most people/the audience.

Even if said person can't understand why all the time, it's more about the fact that it's showing they're embracing and accepting him for it. I'll go a bit more in depth regarding his Virgo Venus in a minute, but I do think that the person has to have a very good balance between being fast paced and progressive themselves, as well as bringing a steady and grounded reliability and safety with them. With that I'm talking about someone who's confident, sure and fixed in their feelings and character, but leaves room for general personal and career-related growth. After all, even if his Moon were to be in Aquarius, it's still a sign that brings it's fair share of Saturnian energy to it. We also have his Taurus in Saturn squaring his Venus, Sun, and trining his Neptune and Moon (which are in a possible conjunction). His Saturn and Jupiter are also conjunct. I think it's not necessary to say, that he's very likely already hard enough on himself, or at least is very aware of his own, personal, but also societal/structural shortcomings and disadvantages (judged by what we see of him).

At best, a relationship can ease his worries, and his partner can act appropriately to any difficulties. Even if his strong fixed energy can show to a stubborn character who wants to gets his way, I feel like he would feel overwhelmed having to carry emotional and material/structural burdens of the relationship all on his own.

If you think about the hold Neptune has on his chart as well, he might search for someone that can function like a getaway, secretly trying to succumb his fantasies or longing for that one person that can somehow become that one person he can live out his fantasies with.

After all, he has the mystical rectangle as his chart pattern, that means he can appear smooth and composed on the outside, while his inner nature is more torn and conflicted. Someone who is perhaps a bit more intuitive and can see his shortcomings and inner struggles despite his cooler exterior. Someone who can accept his ambivalence and complexity without getting easily overwhelmed by possible extreme or paradox behavior but sees the layers behind them.

I also want to mention that his Juno in Aquarius is in a tight conjunction to his Uranus. I do believe that commitment comes through the test of time here: I think that the reliability and openness to embrace change of character/personality that we see in our friends in long term friendships, the ones who watched us grow and become the person we are today, is something that somehow needs to occur first, before he finally sees himself committing. I'll also go as far as to say, that the mental connection and the excitement of what happens when the two people come together and what rules they base their relationship on must be to his expectations. Feelings/interest might fluctuate quickly, but this can also point to the environment/societal circumstances (again, the houses would be necessary to investigate further) prevent him or the partner from showing commitment or force them to be apart. Can also show own difficulties in being willing to give commitment (for whatever reasons this is).

Okay; I've talked a lot about this very prominent opposition/trines to his Uranus and Neptune, now I want to look further into his Venus sign. It's important to notice that Venus is at its fall here too, so combining that with it being the apex planet of his T-Square, AND Saturn squaring his Venus, can point to a general theme of “tough(er) love”, which I would assume do not only revolve around him in relation to others, but also the love to himself, his self worth and the duty/determination to his craft (you can tie this to his career since he's in the performing arts) and values.

Venus in Virgo speaks about love that takes effort/work, love that is duty and love that is critical and able to improve, because it is adaptable – I think especially with the Jupiter in Gemini square (his Jupiter also conjuncts his Psyche exactly btw) to his Venus as well, I believe that (at best) he can make an effort to integrate the desired lightheartedness, spontaneity, and fun loving nature of Gemini to the structure his Virgo Venus (and potential Capricorn Moon) require. At worst, it can cause him to be fickle in relationships, somehow being in and out regarding his actions and feelings. Venus in Virgo as the apex planet of his T-square could force the rationality and (very pure) dutifulness/determination of Virgo out of him, again, doesn't matter is it's in relation to others or himself.

I do believe someone who easily adapts but can maintain the reassured, lighthearted nature even in moments of crisis would appeal to him – given the nature of Virgo, this desired quality would inspire him to grow himself and challenge his perception of how he manages the relation to himself, others, his values and morals. It would also probably take a lot of weight off of his shoulders and make him less worry.

Don't get me wrong, but I do feel Jaemin can be the type to beat himself up and overthink easily even if things run smoothly for a long time, also, as his energy runs up and down, he could feel thankful for the person that chooses to stay and understand, but also fully embrace and accept (work with) him. It's the typical Virgo nature of “am I good/worthy enough?” but dw dw, they all work hard to get out of the loop at one point lol. I'm not saying he has horrible self esteem issues, but someone who makes it easier for him to develop a healthy relationship to himself by the positivity the connection adds in his life, would suit him.

Overall though, I think the person he will stick around with at the end, will have to have something unique to them and I mean it more in the sense they will navigate through life and view the world and handle themselves. I think about quiet the strong character, which doesn't have to result in someone who's boastful or anything of that sort, but someone that catches his interest and can make him stick around, as well as push back to his antics a bit, lol.

Also, on a last note: The person he is with has to be 100% supportive and a team player, even if both are apart for a long time, pursue their own goals, or life just gets crazy and messy as it tends to do, I think the support and encouragement for each other individual interests, as well as engagement in each others individual life (choices) would be a very reassuring sign for him, that he can rely on and trust his partner, even if they are apart for a long time. I think it would also prevent losing interest in the other in general. Again; Jaemin has lots of fixed sign energy in his chart, but given the strong Leo and Aquarius influence of his chart, if the spark and mental connection is gone the foundation on which his side of the relationship lie on might start to crumble quicker than he wants them to. And he might find himself trying to fix this issue vehemently, while his heart and ego play against him...thing might get messy and overwhelming easily, even if it doesn't appear like that from the outside.
