Wanted to have a more cartoony look, but with somewhat realistic proportions for the upcoming tutorial video. Figuring out how to draw the fur pattern drove me half mad...
But I love the dynamic between those two, hehehh.

City Digging Out
A Christmas snow storm dropped 10-14 inches on the Twin Cities in 1945, the heaviest snowfall since the 1940 Armistice Day blizzard. At the time it was the heaviest December snowfall in nine years. On December 26th, the city was digging out. Buses and trains were operating close to on-schedule after running up to 5 hours late during the height of the holiday storm. But motorists still struggled to clear their cars and navigate the snow-filled streets.
Photos of the 1945 Christmas snow storm from the Minneapolis Newspaper Photograph Collection in the Hennepin County Library Digital Collections. Click links in photos for more info.
The storm didn't make it to the top twenty snowfalls in Twin Cities history.

Shoveling
What it takes to dig a hole is to put a shovel
into the ground, once to breach the surface,
to tear off the façade of what you are about
to accomplish, see the discoloration of earth
that signifies entering another realm beneath
that which comforts you, and then to apply
that dull blade over and over and again into
whatever it is that gets in the way of creating
a space within the world to which point had
not existed, deepening, widening, shoveling
away one hard-earned scoop at a time until
you are satisfied.

Every time it snows I check the weather to see if the temperature is going to rise above freezing. Many times it will be and I tell myself, "Okay you can wait and let nature clean up the driveway for you." if we're getting an inch or less or "Cool, I'll just shovel quick and leave the mess for mother nature." if we are getting 2 inches+
But almost every time my teenage perfectionist brain kicks in and I do more work than I had to and each time when the temperature rises above freezing and I'm looking out, I get annoyed because I could have done less work.

More money is more Leisure time. Think about it. Like today. For the first time in my life I got to use a snowblower. Do you know how much time I saved? And physical strain on my body? Think about rich people. They not only have snow plows, they hire somebody to do it for them. So they don't waste time or energy. Now think about that but for every single aspect of their life. The rich have literally monopolized leisure time. I've read that before but it didn't hit me until today.
