Open, for a surprise, I guess? Just some casual stuff before I go wash my hair.

"Hey..." you call out, trying to play it nonchalantly, but you suspect it didn't work because of the worried way he looks at you. You don't know if you're more impressed with him already noticing something's going on, or with you knowing what he's thinking.

"Hm? Is everything okay?" He asks, slightly trembling due to the movement of the car. His hands hold yours as your eyes move from the scenery passing outside to his eyes. "Were the drinks too much?"

"No, no, no, the cocktails were really good" you smile as you clarify, adjusting your seatbelt so you could move a little closer to him. There was plenty of room in the backseat, anyways. "I was just... thinking"

A quietness settles between the both of you, the radio of the uber being the only significant noise to take you out of your head. It was supposed to be something simple, just a question, nothing much really. Then why are you *so* nervous? You fear that if you don't spill it now you'll just chicken out and pretend nothing happened. But that's not what you wanted to do this time.

"Are you-"

"I rent a new place." You blurt out before he's able to finish his concerned thought, then take a deep breath. You were trying to be casual, still, what's done is done.

"Oh." is all he says before you continue, calmer this time.

"It's really nice actually... plenty of space for an apartment in this city... two rooms, a *great* bathroom and there's even a balcony." you begin to smile nervously as you try not to lock on his confused gaze, but you guessed it's now or never. "I was wondering..... if maybe... you wanted to m-"

"Yes."

".... what?" is all you can muster, your mouth hanging open from shock.

"I'd love to move in with you. If that's what you were going say. And I think it was... well, I hope it was" it was his turn to look away, a shy but genuine smile on his face. "Was it?"

And at that moment, a song you immeadiately recognize starts playing on the radio. "I couldn't have chosen a better fitting soundtrack" you chuckle as you think, before realizing he's now looking at you... waiting for an answer even if he already knows what you'll say because of the way your face lights up with your smile. You both guess that maybe this is how being in love feels like.

He really hopes he never loses you. And you really hope it never ends. If it did, you can only figure you'd never walk that street again.

"Yes."

i think you honestly have the best use of shapes ever! really enjoy ur explanation for that buildings tutorial cus its a nice way of thinking abt simplification and stuff :D that being said are there any artists you specifically study for their shape design? or did discover ur process through experimentation?

His builds are so fun to study and it travels to his 2D/3D art as well -I feel sick- Bdubs has such a strong read on form and every block/brushstroke has a function his artstyle just has so much PERSONALITY.. I aspire to be as good as him some day ><

If anything I love the Building with Bdubs series loads. A lot of what he says in there comes from literal art and architecture terms - his care for composition and moving around in a space …. He’s so cool

Are you ok? My favourite mechs artist has been quiet recently

im am SO so sorry i havent been able to post in so long aaa.. at the moment i am very much not okay, unfortunately a lot of things have gone poorly very quickly but hopefully its only a temporary set back!!

tldr i finally managed to get a full time job a month & a half after moving and my car broke down for the last time almost immediately upon hiring so i now have to walk ~2hrs to and from an 8 hour shift every day + more personal stuff,, the pain & stress is Not fun for my back problems or mental health :,^)

hoping to get the bike my mom leant me repaired as soon as i have my first paycheck or 2, so fingers crossed that will make a huge difference

i have still been slowly working on comms in whatever free time i get but its slow going 😔 ty everybody for your patience & sorry again for not being online!

i think this is the most genuine emotion we've seen from nikolai ever. and the fact he seems unsure about how he's feeling, how it's seemingly contradicting, imo works really well with his character

he's all about saying things that contradict each other and imo, there is always some truth to both sides of what he says

so. here. i think some part of him was happy to be free of his only bond... but then it got overtaken with the part of him that realizes this bond wasn't. like. as constricting as he first thought

it seems that at the end of it all he somehow even WANTED to get that bond running deeper. imo, it was to feed both sides of him - the side that wants to be free can't actually prove his free will if they weren't that close in the first place, they barely interacted before, it's almost like killing any other person. on the other hand, he also genuinely likes fyodor and wants to be closer bc well. he is "perfectly sane". he is, underneath it all, still a person deep down, as much as he might hate that.

when fyodor threatens to take him out in the future he doesn't seem scared, but he also doesn't seem particularly excited i think? (or maybe that's just how he expresses his genuine, non-performative excitement, who knows.) at the same time, he also doesn't seem to want to kill him now, to follow him, like he's keeping it for that new game he was just promised

but then fyodor dies. and he won't get a chance to play it. and in a way, that takes from his freedom too, isn't it? his freedom to choose how his bond with fyodor will be. in a way, fyodor dying took away from his free will.

i truly believe nikolai is. maybe not selfish but certainly self-centered or self-serving enough to be sad over, and forgive me for this analogy, his toy getting broken. I'm certain he's also genuinely sad about his only friend dying, and so gruesomely too, but i wouldn't be surprised if at his core this is what makes him this sad. and i think that also leads to his conflicting emotions about fyodor's death

i also think that thing dazai pointed out about fyodor's lack of trust plays a part in nikolai's grief here. to him, fyodor is the only one who understood him, the only one who made him feel seen, and as far as we know the only person who was important to him. but he probably knew the feeling wasn't mutual. still, this was the nail in the coffin, confirming fyodor never saw him as a friend as well, not even as an ally.

i don't have an actual conclusion here, just speculation on nikolai's internal turmoil and how he might feel now. i really hope (and expect) we will see him again, and i wonder if this event will change anything about him.

i speculated in the past that his eye cover is a symbol of his bond with fyodor. and today, he took it off after fyodor died. i wonder, if the next time we see nikolai, he will still wear it or not (or possibly wear a new one). i guess we'll see!

i got inspired by a conversation with @aidanchaser (hope you dont mind me tagging you 🙏) to make a vampire/fantasy au :) these are some sketches and ideas for it !!! i think im gonna work on the hero costumes some more but i thought id let everyone see the first drafts for now ☆

i have a handful of thoughts abt the au, but ill leave them under the cut so i dont make the post too long !

like i said, its a fantasy/vampire au! in my au, they are both trans. marinette still uses she/her and adrien uses they/he/she. apologies if any of this is hard to understand or written poorly, writing isnt my strength.

Adrien and Marinette are already dating in the au, but Gabriel doesnt approve of their relationship. Adrien decides she's tired of her father's overbearing nature, and she runs away from home in the middle of the night. When they're almost to Marinette's house, they're attacked by a vampire and "killed" (thats what the second drawing is depicting, Adrien's "death"). Adrien is pronounced dead, and nobody realizes she's been turned into a vampire.

Adrien is still in love with Marinette, but is scared she will be afraid of him now that he's a vampire, so he decides to try and win her heart while in disguise (as Chat Noir).

Meanwhile, Marinette is convinced that Adrien's death was more than a random killing. She adopts a secret identity (Ladybug) in order to investigate Adrien's murder and find out what really happened that night. (she also learns some magic to help her along the way!)

the love square looks like this in the au. Marinette finds herself really liking Chat Noir, but is obviously still grieving for Adrien. Chat Noir, after teaming up with Ladybug, starts to develop feelings for her and wonders if he should try to move on instead of chasing his old life.

I think at the end of the story, there would be a happy ending. Once everything got revealed, Marinette would just be happy to have Adrien back, regardless of them being a vampire or not. things would be different in their lives, but they still love each other no matter what
