None of the Princesses dared to move a muscle as a brilliant sword appeared from the darkness, with its blade held flat against Cadance's chest, as a deafening silence fell upon the area, giving Star some time to calm themselves down; but despite the great tension between the Crystal and Equestrian Royals, the voice calmly asked the Lady of the Empire to stand down, and to listen to the Princess.

Quivering in fear as cold sweat started to run down her back, Cadance slowly moved backwards, until she found herself in the safe embrace of Lord Shining, where countless tears uncontrollably started to stream down her frozen face; but just as quickly as the sword had appeared from the darkness did it vanish thither, too, before Light stepped forward with their blade and its sheath in their hoof.

As Light slowly fell to their knees, still too drained of energy and health by the cursed crystals, and carefully put their blade in its sheath, they bowed their head to the Royals, and apologised to them for this sudden and dangerous interruption; but there was much that the Crystal Royals did not know, and since Light knew too well arguing would not help anybody, they chose to put a stop to it.

Narrowly managing to maintain their balance by leaning on their sword, as Nox hurried over to their side, Light continued, and promised the Crystal Royals they would tell them whatever they wanted to know, if they were granted the time; but Light kindly repeated Eclipse's request to the two Royals, and asked them to seal the stairway, for naught but evil could come from it after their group left.

Though she had managed to calm down somewhat, since Lady Cadance was still crying in the embrace of Lord Shining, he spoke for both of them, and quietly told Light that they would do so, if they were able to use their magic; but Luna merely nodded to him, and told someone he could not see to return inside, before a large group of their friends, as well as another Pony they did not know, appeared.

Mere moments after Luna and Starswirl lead the group back into the Palace did the others feel their magic return to them, which further confused the already stunned Crystal Royals; but all they could do was hope that they would soon be told all the answers, so, after they quietly sighed, they moved to the Crystal Heart and cast an ill-feeling spell on it, before the stairway to the prison closed.

In turn, Light, Nox, Eclipse, and Celestia let out great sighs of relief, and solemnly thanked both of the Crystal Royals for their help, before they suggested to follow the others into the Palace to tell them all that they had missed; but before they could head inside, to the others' astonishment, Shining and Cadance and admitted that it would be wise, as they had to tell them something as well.

Neither of the two Crystal Royals uttered another word as they headed back inside, followed closely by Eclipse, and Celestia after them, but before the doors could close, the Solar Princess made sure to wait on Nox and Light; and as a warm smile grew upon her face, she sweetly asked the two if they needed help, which Nox and Light gladly accepted, as it was clear Light struggled to stay standing.

Just as Celestia walked back towards them, though it took them great effort, Nox finally managed to help Light back onto their hooves, even if she had placed their arm over her back for more balance; and after Celestia had made sure that the two were both all right, she gracefully thanked Light for stopping the argument before it could get out of hoof, and kindly offered them to hold their sword.

With a smile, Light politely thanked Celestia in turn, before they added that they were glad nobody got hurt, even though they had hoped they did not need to use their sword at all; but now they were finally able to convince the Crystal Royals, who had been a thorn in their side for a long time, to listen to reason, they wondered what could be bothering them, to which Nox admitted she might know.

As the doors closed behind them, Light asked Nox what she meant, but she hushed them, and said:

"I am not certain as of yet… But I feel Spike knows more than he thinks…"
