Lee Jihoon’s family is known as one of the most feared Mafia families in South Korea, his great grandparents having made a reputation for themselves that has been held up for generations.
Jihoon was born an only child and singular heir to the Lee fortune and the Lee legacy; having known from a young age that he would eventually end up being the leader of the Lee clan. He knew the family business was dangerous, and since being taught the ropes at 13, he knew that his relationships could be used against him from rival clans. This reason alone caused him to be cautious and callous with who he associated with. He only has two important people he would consider his friends.
His closest friend, Kwon Soonyoung also doubles as his right hand man. Both men grew up together due to Soonyoung’s father being close with Jihoon’s. Their frequent meetings caused the young men to be around eachother for long bouts of time, eventually being homeschooled together while their father’s talked business. For Jihoon, Soonyoung is the one and only person he could trust on this earth- time and time again, he has always proved his unchallenged loyalty to Jihoon and his father’s family. If Jihoon was irrational and unfiltered, Soonyoung was his voice of reason and his level-headed decision maker. To him, it was a match made in heaven.
The second person he considered his friend, or used to, was you. You came into both Jihoon and Soonyoung’s life at 8 years old, your family having been hired by Master Lee to work as live-in staff in their mansion. You were the only other child Jihoon and Soonyoung’s age, and despite Master Lee’s cold heart, he grew to treat you like his daughter and let Jihoon frequently spend his younger years playing with his two closest friends when they weren’t being homeschooled together until he was of age to get into the family business.
12 months ago, when Jihoon had just turned 25, Master Lee announced his soon to be retirement to his son. The only condition for Jihoon to step up to be head of the family business was simple but to Jihoon, was absolutely atrocious.
“I don’t understand why you think me marrying would be advantageous to the family, father.” He hisses, adjusting his chain around his neck, glaring at the stupid red rose, the Lee family staple, perfectly pinned to his lapel.
“It is not to a random woman, Jihoon.” Master Lee frowned.
“That makes it worse!” He barked, leaning his head back in frustration.
“Jihoon. You have to know that no one can be trusted in this business. I am not allowing you to marry outside of who we trust. They can slither their way into your heart and when you are at your most vulnerable, they take everything out from under you. If the enemy knows you’re committed to someone already, it keeps them from hurting us from the inside.”
“Yeah, it also makes Y/N the number one target to the enemy and they will try and swipe her away from under our noses!” He’s yelling now.
He would never admit it to anyone, but he cares too much for you. You’re too good to be associated with the dastardly business that is associated with being in the mafia; you’re a good hearted person who happily serves the Lee family alongside your just as good parents. You’re the one good thing that Jihoon has left, and he’d be damned if he couldn’t protect you.
“It’s not like you’re going to be parading her out for missions and stake outs.” Master Lee frowns. “She is only for the parties. So others know that you’re a committed man that will not waver. I guarantee you she will be protected. She will be treated like a queen in here, and she won’t ever have to see the dark side of the business. Son, I promise you.”
For 12 months, Jihoon, in the public eye was the perfect model husband with you. He stayed by your side faithfully at galas and parties, parading you around with a look of what was perceived as adoration by others. Behind closed doors however, Jihoon treated you like a ghost. Long gone was your once closest friend who you stayed up late with to binge watch stupid movies, playing video games and pranks on Soonyoung. The only thing that remained was a quiet man that only greeted you for one meal a day, to his insistence for the sake of ‘normalcy.’ In your opinion, it felt anything but. Your attempts at conversion were shut down with one worded answers or sometimes none at all, and over time, you grew to enjoy your meal with your husband in silence before going about your day around the Lee mansion alone.
Jihoon thought his father’s plan was working. For 12 months, his wife was safe and protected and never got caught up with any of the mafia business. He was in alliance with most rival clans and worked out plans and deals to work for the foreseeable future.
Sadly for Jihoon, Master Lee was full of shit.
Tumblr media
Jihoon is frantic. The staff had alerted him while out for a meeting with an ally clan that you had been injured. They were intentionally vague with details, knowing their boss would fly off the handle at the extent to what your injuries were.
“She’s at home.” Jihoon hears Soonyoung’s voice over the phone.
“What the fuck happened, Soonyoung.” He is sure he is making his driver break at least 10 different road laws right now to get back to the mansion. He makes a mental note to contact the local police and send some generous gift baskets.
“The guards don’t know. I’m trying to get it out of them, but no luck yet.”
“She shouldn’t have been out unsupervised.” Jihoon winces, rubbing at his temples. “Tell them if they don’t give you an honest answer by the time I’m back, I will have their tongues.”
“Just go to her right now, Hoon-ah.”
Tumblr media
Marching into the living room, Jihoon makes his presence known by the heavy thuds of his boots on the tiled floor. His eyes scan the room until they finally land on you, his childhood friend and arranged wife, sitting anxiously on the couch. He feels his eye twitch at the sight of no guards in sight, you having been left alone since you have returned.
You lift your head up shakily, your eyes widening at the sight of your husband. His long hair, usually sported in a bun atop his head is now strewn about and falling out of the elastic holding it together, suit jacket scrunched and twisted, red rose nowhere to be found. You’re astonished, having grown so used to seeing your husband with his perfect red rose on his lapel at all times. What you didn’t know that after having found out about your capture, he thrown it to the ground in frustration of his worst fears coming true.
“Jihoon?” You blink nervously.
This is the first time you’ve seen him properly (minus your daily lunches) for maybe a month. He stares intently across the room at you, scanning your body. You’re cradling your left wrist in your hand, a bruise in the perfect shape of a hand print forming around your wrist. His eyes lift to your face, his blood boiling at the sight of a small cut across your cheek, your right eye swelling up and starting to turn purple.
“I-I’m sorry,” you stutter, biting down on your lip. “I know I shouldn’t have-“
You flinch at the sight of Jihoon striding forward, only to pause when he walks straight past you and into the kitchen, causing your shoulders to deflate. You were stupid to think your best friend had come back for only a moment. You sink sadly into the couch, curling up slowly.
Your head stays facing down at the floor as you run your fingertip over the hand print on your wrist, wincing and hissing as you press a little too hard. You sigh after a moment, moving to stand up before you pause at the sight of Jihoon’s expensive dress shoes directly in front of you.
You look up nervously at him as he reaches out, delicately taking your wrist, face neutral as he runs his fingers gently over the bruise just like you had done, eyebrows furrowing. You shiver slightly, this being the first physical contact you have felt from your husband in months. Next, he reaches forward and tucks a stray hair behind your cheek before examining the darkening bruise over your eye. At this, you see his eyes darken, heaving a heavy sigh through his nose.
“Who the fuck did this to you.” His voice is soft as he eyes you.
“I-I…”
“I need to know who did this.” He pleads.
“It was Hwang.” You whimper.
His jaw clenches. Hwang has sworn vengeance against the Lee family ever since Master Lee cut ties and alliances with the Hwang’s over his unethical practices. In Hwang’s words, he wanted to poison the perfect garden of roses that Master Lee built.
“H-he said it was a warning..” you can’t look Jihoon in the face. “T-to keep your wife on a leash or else something could happen. Jihoon, I’m so sorry, I really shouldn’t have gone out, I didn’t want to cause any more trouble.” You’re crying softly now, wincing at the pain that your swelling is causing.
You tense up as you feel something cool delicately rest on your cheek, opening your eyes to see your husband holding an ice pack gently to your face. Your eyebrows furrow in confusion as he moves you so you’re sitting down on the couch once more.
“You stay here until Soonyoung gets back to look after you, okay?” He instructs you as you just stare at him, bewildered. “Do you hear me, Y/N?” You nod your head slowly as you cradle the ice pack to your cheek. “Good.”
You watch Jihoon turn around and march back towards the front door of the mansion, pointing to Mr Kim, one of the guards who has been in Jihoon’s family for years. “Make sure no one comes inside this mansion except for me and Soonyoung. You guard her with your life until he gets here.” The man nods his head sternly as he moves to stand in the doorway between the living room and the entryway.
“J-Jihoon? Where are you going?” You ask nervously as your husband adjusts the gun holster around his waist, his voice cold and deadly, sending a shiver down your spine.
“I’m going to kill the fucker who thought he could touch my wife and get away with it.”
And with that, the door slams behind him, leaving you alone with Mr Kim eyeing the door sternly.
You stay anxiously in the living room for what feels like an eternity, waiting to hear anything from Jihoon or his guards. You jolt at the sound of the door after only 15 minutes of sitting in silence, breathing a sigh of relief as you see Soonyoung rush inside and run straight towards you.
“Soon…” you whimper as he meets you halfway, immediately pulling you close and hugging you to his chest.
“Fuck, Y/N, I’m sorry I wasn’t there.” He breathes out, shaky. “The one fucking day I had to go run some errands…”
You hate the fact that Hwang probably waited for Soonyoung to be away from you to strike.
“Soon, it’s fine…” you whisper, wincing as he pulls away to look down at your face, closely examining your swelling eye.
“It’s not fine, look at you!”
“I’m still alive, aren’t I?” You whisper, and he just sighs with frustration, leading you to the couch and sitting you up against the cushions, laying a fluffy blanket over you.
“You’re going to sit here and we are going to watch some tv until Jihoon-ah gets back, okay?” He settles down beside you.
“Soonyoung, you can go have a shower or eat or something...” Your voice is low as he scrolls through random movies to play on Netflix.
“Nope.” He made a promise to stay with you until Jihoon gets back, and he will stay true to his word. Eating and washing up can wait.
Tumblr media
“Y/N-ah.” Soonyoung glances at his phone after a few hours. The ice pack against your cheek is now lukewarm, your legs having shaken non-stop since you’d been forced to sit down.
“Hm..” you hum in response.
“Jihoon-ah will be home in 5 minutes. He asked for me to give you both some privacy and take care of some clean-up. Will you be okay with Mr Kim watching you?”
“Okay.” You respond nervously, teeth sinking into your bottom lip as Soonyoung gently touches your good cheek with his finger.
“I’ll be in the other room making calls if you get scared between now and then. Okay?”
“Thank you, Soonie.” You whisper, looking up at him with a grateful smile.
“You’re welcome.” He smiles back before turning around and walking down the hall, leaving you alone once more as the panic begins to rise in your body.
You’re lucky you don’t have to wait long, as true to Soonyoung’s word, Jihoon steps inside his mansion and into the living room not even 5 minutes later, heaving a sigh. When you spot him, you rush quickly to him, immediately noticing the blood on his shirt and causing you to panic even more.
“Oh god.. you’re bleeding, what have I done? Your father will have me for this.” You quickly try to wipe the blood off his shirt (which you’re relieved to realize isn’t his). Jihoon surprises you both as he reaches forward to take your injured wrist again, pulling you to him and wrapping his arms tight around your waist.
He pulls your head into the crook of his neck, squeezing you to him as his chin rests on top of your head, grip tight on your shirt. You’re shaking before you just melt into his embrace, holding onto his jacket tight as he hums.
“Are you okay.” When you just nod, he pulls back to look into your face. “I need to hear it from you, Y/N. Please… just humor me.”
“Yeah, I’m okay, Hoonie.” You breathe out with wide eyes.
Why does he look so scared?
He sighs with finality before he pulls you back to him, hugging you tight for the first time since he was forced to hold you at your wedding over 12 months ago.
“We will need more security.” He mumbles to you as he holds you tight. “Guards at every post. When we go out, when you’re out in the garden, everywhere. It’s clear they know your schedule so we need to throw them off your scent.” He is talking a mile a minute as he keeps you close to his chest, afraid you’d slip away. “As a precaution, I will have guards sweep the house for any bugs they could have planted. Tonight, we will sleep in the safe house. Is that okay with you, Y/N?”
“Yeah, that’s fine.” You whisper, your face buried in his shirt. You don’t want to leave his side as much as he doesn’t too - this being the most affection you’ve gotten from someone in 12 months.
Tumblr media
“Fuck.” Jihoon didn’t account for the fact his safe house only had one king size bed. “You can take the bed, okay… I can take the couch.”
“Don’t be silly.” You hum, already dragging him to the bed. “We’re both adults here. I think we can handle sharing a bed. We used to in school, right Hoonie?”
“I mean yeah, but we weren’t married then.”
“We’re only married on paper. Why are you being so iffy?” You laugh, wincing as your smile hurts your bruising cheek. Without thinking, he reaches out to cup your face worriedly, examining the bruise before rushing out to the kitchen, returning a few moments later with a small ice pack to press to your cheek.
“I’d feel more comfortable if you were close, Hoon. Please.” You ask quieter now as he rocks awkwardly on his heels.
“Only until you’re asleep.” He bargains, and you nod quickly.
“Deal.”
After an awkward intermission of you both getting ready to share the bed for the first time since your wedding, you’re finally drifting off, curled up beside your husband as he sits up against the bed head, stiff as a board in sweatpants and a large jumper. Jihoon lays on top of the blankets so he can make an easy get away when you fall into a deep sleep.
He’s about to up and leave as your breathing evens out, thinking you’re asleep when he feels you shift. You scoot closer, hand finding his as your head nestles comfortably against his shoulder. You visibly relax at his warmth, your shaky hands slowing to a stop as you essentially glue yourself to his side. He tenses up, looking down at you with wide eyes as you finally fall asleep. He frowns deeply at the sight of your bruise showing before aggressively sighing to himself and wrapping his free arm around you to hold you against his chest. He is unable to resist your cuteness. That, and he wants to protect you, of course.
Jihoon refuses to sleep a wink in case someone tries to break in, but after hour four of him stroking your arm delicately with his cheek resting on top of your forehead, he feels himself drifting off.
When he wakes up, he sees you’re still cuddled up to him, but almost jumps out of his skin when he sees Soonyoung standing at the foot of the bed with a knowing smirk on his face.
“It took you long enough to treat your wife like she is your wife.”
“Shut the fuck up.” Jihoon hisses out as quietly as possible to not wake you, his cheeks bright red. “If she wakes up, I’ll have your head.”
“I’m sure you will.” He winks.
“Kwon Soonyoung I swear to god if my wife wasn’t sleeping against me right now, you’d be six feet under.”
“Mhm~” he sing songs, stepping out the bedroom door.
“If you tell anyone, you’re dead.”

Only For You- MingyuxReader mafia!au Part 1
Tumblr media
pairing: Mingyu x reader; featuring Seventeen and NCT genre: mafia au / gang au warnings: weapons (guns, knives), violence, blood, cursing, kidnapping word count: 2129
"You dumbass, how did you get hit too?" you groaned as you leaned against the hard wall, applying pressure to your left side, trying to ignore the new searing pain in your left arm.
"Shit..." cursed Mingyu as he stumbled into the ground, blood dampening his black dress pants.
It was the middle of the night, and you and Mingyu finally completed the weeks long mission you and your team of mafia had been planning. However, a quite severe miscalculation had been made.
You see, Jun, the spy of the plan assured you that there would likely only be two targets maximum.
"Trust me, I only ever saw these two discuss targeting Seungkwan. I'm pretty sure the others don't know about their plan" affirmed Jun.
However, just when you and Mingyu were about to put an end to the thugs who planned to assassinate the socialite Seungkwan you were hired to protect, you were suddenly met with not two but six unruly men.
You weren't scared by any means; you could fight a group of grown men somewhat efficiently. Plus you had Mingyu on your side. Mingyu didn't really seem like mafia material. He had this demeanor about him that you swore would be helpful if he were a famous celebrity of some sort. He had it all: looks, charisma, humor. However he was not stupid. He used his charms to his advantage, to appear inconspicuous to the untrained eye. Most people would never suspect Mingyu to be a professional assassin in the mafia.
And then there was you. Maybe you were just hardened by the world you were born into, but you knew you weren't like Mingyu. Sure, there was no doubt that you are good looking, beautiful even. But you'd describe yourself as a farce. You hated injustice, yet you were in the mafia. The mafia that mercilessly kills people. Your targets are by no means innocent people, yet there is a part of you that finds the irony of being a source of physical beauty that was wired to be so violent and deadly. And yet, that was your strength, the main reason why Seungcheol saw your potential when he found you killing a man who had harassed a schoolgirl earlier on the bus.
And that's why Jihoon, Seungcheol's right hand man, decided to pair you with Mingyu for this mission. Even if you could not see it, you and Mingyu were perfect for this plan.
The night went as planned, with you pretending to be Seungkwan's disgruntled ex who wanted him gone and Mingyu being your rich fake boyfriend who was willing to pay anything to see his competition gone. Sweet talking your way to the other gang, you and Mingyu eventually led two of them outside the venue. They introduced themselves as Jisung and Chenle. Presumably, these two were the assassins who wanted to negotiate pay and such.
As you walked outside the venue, Mingyu noticed one of the assassins looking at you. He could see the lust in Jisung's eyes, the way his eyes scanned every inch of your body as you moved along. Mingyu felt a pang of jealously. Sure you weren't his real girlfriend but he just couldn't help but feel that this assassin was disrespecting not only you but himself also.
"Let's keep heading toward the back," suggested Mingyu as he placed a hand on the small of your back.
You couldn't help but to subtly shudder at his action. Mingyu was just playing a part, you kept telling yourself. If he's supposed to be your boyfriend in this case, then he's got to act like it too.
The four of you eventually found yourselves in the dark behind the building of the venue. You guys began to negotiate pay but through it all you felt that one sleazy assassin's eyes wander your whole body. And he was very obvious about it. Mingyu once again picked up on this and instinctively drew you closer to him, allowing his larger frame to slightly shield you from Jisung's lustful gaze. Once a price was agreed upon, the plan would soon truly begin.
"Just let me get my checkbook out," said Mingyu as he reached a hand into his pocket.
Just as the assassins were anticipating to get rich, you sneak out from behind Mingyu and pull out your gun and shoot Jisung.
"What the fuck?!" exclaims Jisung as he fell backwards upon impact.
Part of you forgot you were dealing with trained assassins in the case, especially after being ogled at. The other assassin Chenle immediately pulled out his gun and fired it, the bullet grazing your side.
"Shit!" you interject, catching Mingyu's attention as he finishes the guy off effectively shooting him.
"Y/N! Are you hit?" Mingyu asks looking behind him.
"Yeah, but it's okay. It's not as bad as it looks the bullet only grazed me" you explained, taking a deep breath.
Just as you both thought you had finished the job, you were suddenly ambushed from both sides by four other men.
"We knew you two were too good to be true, right Jungwoo?" sneered one of the gang members.
"I see the princess isn't doing so great. Maybe we should let her prince feel some of her pain, right Yuta?" laughed another as he glared at Mingyu.
You and Mingyu huddled against one another, back to back, guns pointed.
"How did the rest come out?" you whispered.
"My guess is the other two might've been wearing a wire" hypothesized Mingyu as you felt him quiver ever so slightly.
The four thugs slowly began to creep toward the two of you making the standoff more concentrated. You felt more nervous by the second.
"Y/N. Run" whispered Mingyu.
"What?" you whispered in confusion.
"You heard me, run. I know you'll have a chance of escaping. You'll be able to tell the guys what happened. Hurry, you're already hurt," he hurriedly explained.
"I can't leave you, we are partners for a reason," you whispered as you stood your ground and leaned closer to him, feeling the blood from your side soak through your clothes and onto him.
"Y/N..." sighed Mingyu, the pain evident in his hushed voice.
"Follow my lead," you whispered as you suddenly dropped to the ground.
"Shit..." you groaned somewhat dramatically. Yes, the area where the bullet grazed you hurt like a bitch but maybe it could help you out of this situation.
"Y/N!" Mingyu exclaimed, seemingly following along.
"Aww, the princess can't handle a gunshot," mocked Jungwoo, "you'd be the perfect little-"
He was cut off when you shot the other thug Yuta next to him, effectively stunning him. Using this to your advantage, you shot one of the guys cornering Mingyu's side.
"Kun!"
Mingyu seemed to understand your distraction, and he pulled the gun on Jungwoo. There was only one guy left who kept his gun aimed and the two of you yet the fear was evident in his composure. You managed to get back onto your feet while still pointing the gun at him. Yet you felt the blood loss beginning to get to you as you stumbled upright.
"Who are you?" asked Mingyu, voice full of authority.
"H-haechan of NCT," said the thug timidly.
"You're not leaving here alive," said Mingyu coldly as he pulled the trigger. The man did the same, yet his gun was aimed at you last second.
You yelped in pain as the bullet made impact with your upper left arm.
"Y/N!" yelled Mingyu as he looked behind him. In this moment of distraction, Jisung from earlier used the last of his strength and jabbed Mingyu in the thigh with his hidden knife before falling to the ground in a heap. As he tried to breathe through the pain, he noticed you make your way closer to the building.
"You dumbass, how did you get hit too?" you groaned as you leaned against the hard wall, applying pressure to your left side, trying to ignore the new searing pain in your left arm.
"Shit..." cursed Mingyu as he stumbled into the ground, blood dampening his black dress pants.
"Mingyu, you're bleeding a lot," you said in horror as you noticed just how much blood Mingyu was losing despite not being shot like yourself.
"Must've hit an artery," he whimpered through the pain, trying to apply pressure to his thigh.
"Oh my god," was all you could say as you practically crawled toward Mingyu, your side and arm searing in pain. But that pain didn't matter in this moment. All you could think of was Mingyu.
"Y/N, forget about me. Use the strength that you have to run. Go alert one of the guys. I'll be okay," he managed to say through the pain as his vision began to blur.
"But, but, I don't wanna leave you!" you were losing your composure as the thought of Mingyu dying in this very moment haunted you.
"You'll save the both of us if you try to get help now! Listen, Y/N. Today was crazy, and to be honest, I don't know if I will actually make it," he hissed through the pain, "But I couldn't stand the thought of those gross assholes even looking at you. You're someone special to me Y/N, and I want to continue protecting you. So please, just go find one of the guys," he pleaded.
"Mingyu," you murmured, cupping his face with your hand as he melted into your embrace the more tired he became. Mingyu looked up at you, his eyes pleading you to stand up and get help. So you did as you were told, stumbling to your feet and trying to move as fast as you could despite your injuries.
You decided to stumble toward the parking lot; your getaway van would probably be there. Even though it was dark, you were hoping and praying one of the boys would see your unbalanced and injured form immediately. And that's when you saw the black van approaching you.
"Thank god, they found me," you sighed in relief as the van pulled up next to you.
The door to the van revealed a very different group of guys instead. And an ominous feeling made a place for itself as a pit in your stomach.
"Get her," said one of the men, who appeared to be the leader.
Before you knew it, you felt two pairs of arms grab you and shove you into their van.
All the while Mingyu continued to fight the urge to pass out, you were the only person on his mind. He couldn't tell how much time had passed, but he suddenly saw Minghao and Seokmin running toward him, bombarding him with questions he couldn't yet process. He felt his fellow gang members lift him off the ground and into the dark van that had shortly pulled up.
"Thank god Y/N found you," he mumbled as he leaned against Minghao.
"What? Y/N isn't here?" said Minghao as he placed Mingyu in a seat and began to address his wound.
Suddenly an overwhelming sense of dread overcame Mingyu. "She's not???" he felt himself begin to panic. Where had you gone?
"Calm down Mingyu, what happened?" said Wonwoo as he placed a hand on his friend's shoulder, trying to calm him down.
"Y/N- I told her- she's hurt! I told her to find you guys!" rambled Mingyu, his face painted with fear.
"Okay, we'll drive around the vicinity of this building and be on the lookout. Joshua, Hansol, and Soonyoung, look for Y/N inside the building" ordered Seungcheol calmly.
"Mingyu, you need to calm down," said Minghao as he continued to examine Mingyu's wound, "We'll find Y/N, just explain to me how you got hurt and what happened."
Mingyu took a deep breath and explained to the boys what happened. However, it was evident he believed something was severely wrong since he couldn't stop shaking as he recounted the night's events.
Meanwhile, you found yourself in an unfamiliar van clutched by unfamiliar arms as you stared at many unfamiliar men.
"Are you Y/N L/N?" asked the leader.
The pain in your arm and side only grew more severe, but it was pure adrenaline that managed to keep you alert in this situation.
"Answer me," he said, his cold eyes staring into your soul.
"Release me," you simply stated, maintaining eye contact.
"She's a back talker. Johnny?" asked the leader, gesturing to one of the men holding you.
This Johnny guy simply nodded and suddenly you felt a gun pressed to the side of your temple.
"So, are you going to cooperate with us then?" asked the leader, sneering at you.
Hiiii I'm back lol! Wrote something a little out of my comfort zone but its spooky season so hey why not! LMK what you think! I'll try to have part 2 uploaded soon!

How To Avoid Yourself From Getting Killed?
Pairing : Xu Minghao x Reader
Genre : Mafia Au
Warnings : Mentions of kidnapping
Minghao might be the only person on earth who doesn’t trash and throw when you kidnap him.
“Are you sure no one saw you?” you ask Jeonghan, who’s wearing an innocent smile on his face. His baby face gets handy during undercover missions, which is why you still keep him around even after the countless of trouble he gets into, like now. “You could have just bought your disgusting snack like a normal, decent person instead of stealing it.”
He laughs, “Oh my, Ms. Y/n. Are you like a baby boomer or something? Where’s the fun in that?” You swear you almost punch him in the face but being the leader for years you know what your members are capable of, so you decide against it. “But no one saw you right?”
His face scrunches into something you can’t pinpoint but you recognize the face. The face of Yoon Jeonghan who just got himself into a major problem but thinks he has a ‘smart’ solution to it, “Yeah, about that,” he motions at Joshua and Jun, who bring in a boy about your age, “We brought the witness.”
You let out a gasp of shock, looking back at Jeonghan and the boy who has his head lowered. “Jeonghan, we promised to never kidnap people again”.
“It’s fine. He doesn’t shout so no reason to worry,” Jeonghan assures you, but you’re not ready to believe him. With the great Yoon Jeonghan, comes great trouble. He proves your theory every time.
“Leave it, let me see him,” you say, walking to the boy while motioning at Joshua to give him a chair. Even after sitting down, he refuses to meet your eye, so using two of your fingers you tilt his head, and another gasp leaves your lips.
He was genuinely the prettiest boy you had ever seen and you’re saying this after being with Jeonghan for years. His eyes held natural calmness and confidence. They pierced into your own orbs, making your cheeks flush red. You’ve never felt anything like this before.
Before your brain could process anything, someone clears their throat, and it snaps you out of your trance. “Love at first sight is dumb. I don’t know how heroines in movies even do that,” Jeonghan’s uncanny impression of yours makes you shoot daggers at him before you turn back to the boy with the loveliest smile you could offer.
“What’s your name?” suddenly you felt like you were in high school once again, where knowing the name of the cute boy in class on the first day was the biggest success for any girl. He stays silent for a moment before answering, “Minghao.”
“You’re not scared?” you ask and to your surprise, he smiles, “What can I do? It doesn’t help in any way. The least I can do is collect my shit together and hope that this isn’t how I die.”
His reply makes you look at Jeonghan, “In 5 years of working with you, this is the first time I’ve felt proud of you, Jeonghan.”
Jeonghan rolls his eyes, but you know he’s secretly relieved that you didn’t kill him for the whole kidnapping thing. “What now? You’re in love with him?”
Joshua smacks his friend’s arms before turning to you with an apologetic look. “He’s just jealous. I’ll take him away for now,” he mouths to you, dragging Jeonghan away.
“Say, Minghao, what do you feel about taking Jeonghan’s place?”
“You really want him to hate me, don’t you?”
You laugh, “No, I’m promoting him. That’s why. I’ll leave you if you’re not interested.”
He seems to be in his own bubble of thoughts for a few minutes before replying, “I think it’ll be fun. I’m bored of my life anyways.”
You clasp your hands in delight. He better be ready for some excessive flirting because you’ve decided that he’s the one for you. How else can your heart race so fast?

summary: to thank you for your gracious efforts in tracking down an attacker, seventeen offers to repay your favor. you ask for a date with the cute one with glasses.
Tumblr media
“so,” you say, gazing at the fresh scar on seungcheol’s cheek. it hasn’t had a chance or any time to fade yet and you can tell by the fire in the eyes of his men that this was recent, “what happened?”
it’s hard to remember how you exactly got wrapped up in this mess. seungcheol ‘invited’ you over to discuss a certain issue, something vague like ‘internal matters’, but it felt off from the get-go. something was wrong.
and, clearly, you can tell something is wrong now.
he heaves out a sigh, letting his head fall into his hands before pushing his hair out of his face, “i don’t even know,” he says, “all i know is that my underboss in currently in the hospital, lying to every single medical personnel about why he has stab wounds on his thigh.”
your eyes wander around the room and they find a picture of seungcheol with another person, smiling like they were friends. you’d learn later that was him. yoon jeonghan. the underboss.
there’s 11 other people in this room besides you and seungcheol, which adds up in relation to your current knowledge of seventeen’s higher-ups. contrary to the name, there's 13 of them that are considered the most important to the seventeen organization, including their boss.
Seungcheol eyes burn into you, but you hold your ground, “well, that is unfortunate. i do send him my best regards, and i hope he recovers well and quickly, but i suppose…” you look around at all of the others, as if to calculate in your head the best move, “i don’t know what it is you want from me.”
“if i may be blunt,” he says as a proposition, but it’s more like a question. you nod, “i don’t know either,” he admits, “i don’t know what i expect you to be able to do, much less be willing to do. what i do know though, is that you have a reputation of being able to track people down like a hawk.”
you don’t acknowledge the compliment. he shifts, almost uncomfortably.
“all i am currently requesting is your assistance in finding the one who attacked us. should you help us, we will compensate you in whatever means you see fit,” he says almost desperately, you can’t see it in his face but you feel it, “i want revenge. i need your help to get it.”
“you’ll make sure i get something out of it?”
he sighs, “i’ll see to it that you get whatever you want out of this.”
“what do you know?” when you ask, one of the 11 other men steps up, handing a folder to you.
he doesn’t bother introducing himself, but you know of him. he’s incredibly well known for being able to gather information. he probably knows the street you grew up on and the color of your socks right now off the top of his head. his name is joshua, you remember. you’ve heard someone call his name before.
“these are stills from the security footages of the compound. this here—” he points to a spot on the first paper in the folder, “— is our guy. right here, he gets into a car. i ran the license plate, and it’s registered this individual here.” he points again, this time to a mugshot in the next page. there’s a list of charged and convicted crimes next to the picture, “but i don’t think they’re the same person. they have different builds.”
you agree, soon focusing on the name of the individual the car belonged to, “i know this man.”
seungcheol perks up at the good news, “you do? from where?”
“he’s the director of financial operations at a company an associate of mine owns. he’s very powerful, but he’s also had accusations of corruption and funding violence for years,” you say, “he responds to me directly, actually. it shouldn’t be too hard to get the info out of him.”
“well then,” seunghcheol says, “my men will assist you in any way required for the operation. feel free to ask for their assistance,” and with that, he leaves the conference room.
“is there anything required of any of us for you to investigate, miss?” one of them says after a moment. he’s tall, has too pretty a face for this kind of business. he kinda looks like a puppy.
“no, i should be able to go from here,” you make eye contact with another one. he’s wearing glasses, the thin frames complimenting his face well. he doesn’t acknowledge you more than just the brief eye contact, looking away as soon as it happens, “i’ll call the director now.”
“go right ahead,” joshua says, and you pull your phone out and call him, putting it on speaker.
the phone rings several times. there’s an unplaced tension in the room, and you’re not sure who exactly here is bubbling with anger, but you reconcile it with the fact that these are not just associates. they’re friends. and their buddy is in the hospital.
right before the last ring ends before it’ll stop trying, he picks up.
“hello?” he says.
“director lee, hello, thank you for taking my call,” you say, feeling eyes on you from all over the room.
he responds, “ah yes, hello boss. it’s my pleasure. what can i do for you?”
“well, i was hoping you could inform me on something,” you say, relaxing more into the chair, “you see, i’ve been looking for an individual who was found driving your car last night in unknown territory. did you know about this?”
he pauses. you can tell it’s to come up with a lie on the spot, “no, in fact. i had just assumed my car was stolen. i was almost about to alert the police, but i’m sure you understand why i did not.”
“i understand, director. i need you to cooperate with me,” you say.
“yes, boss. what can I do for you?” he asks.
you take in a deep breath, saying, “for reasons i am unable to disclose, i believe this individual is after us. also, the most recent sighting of your car after it was found so far away is in our territory, at the diner down the street from headquarters,” you fake a pause to hopefully show some hesitancy. you were far too good at playing scared, “i am… nervous, director. this individual stole your car, could have obtained the weapons we keep near the peer, there’s no telling what they’re up to or who sent them.”
the all watch you make a dramatic voice as you play up any potential worries. that’s the only way he’ll talk.
“i understand, miss. may i speak openly?” his question makes them all look up, and you almost have to mute yourself to silence your victory.
“yes, director. tell me,” you say with a hidden smirk on your face.
he pauses, and you worry for a second that he’s going to chicken out, but he doesn’t, “i sent the individual. my car was never stolen.”
bingo.
you ask, “who is it?”
“i’ll send over the information after this call,” he says. there’s a smile on joshua’s face as you look up, both silently understanding the victory you just won, “i wanted to send a message to seventeen, but he must have been attacked because he sent me a voice recording shortly after coming into contact with one of the higher-ups. something about accidentally hurting one of them before he got a chance to say something.”
you ask, trying to prompt more out of him, “what were you trying to say to them?” you only ask because you know they’d want you to.
“i do not have the best relationship with their leader. the reason is unrelated to our purposes in our group. i apologize for stressing you, boss.”
you respond with a simple, “i see, thank you, director.”
“of course, miss, should i send you the information right away?” he asks.
“yes, as soon as possible. have a good day, director,” you say and hang up. you look up at them as your phone pings. you show the notification to joshua.
“that’s him,” he says, pulling out a still from his folder, matching them up side-by-side, “this is our guy.”
“i can find him, leave that to me,” you say, “as a favor to seventeen, i’ll take care of him. you will all owe me, though. both for that phone call and for getting my hands dirty.”
“don’t get cocky,” another one says. he’s short, but he’s got this energy that screams ‘fuck with me, i dare you’, “let me know when you get it done.” he hands you a piece of paper with a string of numbers on it. lee jihoon.
you smile, almost like a smirk, “okay.”
and out the room you go.
he’s dead by the morning. you tell jihoon, and get no response, he simply hangs up as soon as he gets the news.
the letter is addressed from all of seventeen, but based on the formality of word choice, none of them had a hand in writing it. it was probably written by some subordinate, but it gets a simple message across.
seventeen’s acknowledgement that you were owed a favor. the, in writing, paper that guaranteed you something in return. it felt like solid gold.
you spend some time thinking about what it is exactly that you would like from them. there’s not many limits. if you wanted someone dead, they’d have it done by sunset. if you want illegal weapons for your own plans, they would provide them easily. anything you want, they could do.
that was what was so nice about your relationship with seventeen: you may not get along as people, but you get along as business partners. there is no worry that you will be attacked in their headquarters, and vice versa.
but did you need illegal weapons? not really. your casino heist plans were being made smoothly, and there were not many materials you could have requested to make it any easier. you had access to everything you would need, and then some.
did you need anyone dead? not particularly right now. there’s nothing you need help with right now, aside from maybe needing help with throwing a surprise birthday party for your niece. that, though, was doable on its own.
and then, the idea dawns on you.
the letter you return back is, on the contrary, written by you. seungcheol knows it’s you, because he’s seen your handwriting. you state your pleasure with working with them. you thank them for their assistance, especially joshua’s, in finding the first piece of evidence.
the moment you are done with formalities, you don’t hesitate to describe, in extreme, excruciating detail, the favor you would like back from them.
‘a date with the cute one that wears glasses’
you ask for a date. you couldn’t remember his name at the time of writing, so you describe him as the ‘one with the glasses’. you describe exactly what you want: a fancy restaurant dinner, him dressed in a suit with styled hair away from his eyes and maybe some jewelry, definitely wearing his precious specs. you’d pay, he’d walk you to your car, and the second the door shut and you were being driven away, seventeen will have paid their favor back.
your letter even reads:
‘there are no ulterior motives. should the favor be paid back successfully, SEVENTEEN will not be bothered over this matter again. should the favor not be paid back in this way, an alternative favor will not be provided unless sufficient reason is given.”
seungcheol almost laughs when he sees the letter, as he’s the first to read it. he wonders if you’re even being serious. it’s probably the most ridiculous request he’s ever gotten, but he can’t come up with a single reason as to why you’d play a prank like this, so he comes to the conclusion that you’re most likely serious.
a copy of the letter is sent over to wonwoo, the one with the glasses, and he reads it probably fifty times. maybe fifty-one.
nothing has ever made him so embarrassed, that’s the issue. not a single mistake he’s ever made or being chastised for not being good enough at his job has had the same effect. he feels the way mingyu’s eyes bore into him, knowing that wonwoo told him all about how he thought you were pretty, and that if you weren’t 1) a boss and 2) literally terrifying to speak to, he’d be down bad.
he feels awkward and clumsy for sticking out, for being the one pushed into the spotlight. he doesn’t particularly want to be the center of attention, but here he is, in his boss’s office, surrounded by his closest associates. he feels weirdly small as he sinks into the chair.
“i know this is… unconventional, wonwoo,” seungcheol says to him, leaning against his desk, “but you need to do this. it’s only dinner and we can’t owe her for much longer.”
“i know,” he says.
seungcheol continues, “there isn’t much of a choice, as well, you know that right?”
wonwoo recognizes the fading scar on seungcheol’s cheek as seungcheol talks to him. he remembers the moment it happened.
this was more than just giving you what you wanted so you were even as groups, but about genuinely thanking you for such a deed. he remembers watching jeonghan get stabbed in the thigh to protect chan. he remembers all the blood, that horrified look on chan’s face. that guy must have known he was a dead man the second he hurt jeonghan, that could have been why he ran. seungcheol is protective of all of them, but especially him.
“i know, i’ll do it,” he says, “i’ll do whatever is required of me. you know that, boss.”
“i know you will, it’s just that…” seungcheol looks uneasy, shifting his eyes away, “i don’t want this to become a bigger thing. don’t develop feelings, don’t do anything to make her develop feelings. just don’t make this messy. and don’t make it my problem.”
“i won’t,” wonwoo is, even in the best case scenario, slightly overestimating himself. he knows that, yet he still lies (not exactly but that’s what it feels like) through his teeth, “this won't become a problem.”
“it better not, now go,” seungcheol orders, trying to make it sound harsh. it doesn’t, though, not to wonwoo. it sounds more like ‘don’t fuck this up for yourself’.
wonwoo reads your letter for the fifty-second time. this time, he’s closely checking your instructions on how you wanted him to dress. it’s a little bit weird, but he supposes you’re going somewhere fancy, and maybe he has to match.
he sighs dramatically, he doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing.
why is he dressing up in a suit he never wears to come meet you, a literal mob boss that thought he was cute, at some restaurant he doesn’t even know exists, to have dinner with you and play along to make you happy but not enough for either of you to get too attached?
what does he even think he’s doing?
he has literally killed people before, but that was so much simpler than this. slicing someone’s throat is so much less complicated than picking out a tie to wear to your date. everything down to asking him to wear a little bit of gold jewelry— gold, not silver— was complicated. he doesn’t understand this at all.
he’s somewhat horrified that this will go wrong, but if he thinks about it as only ‘a pretty girl asked him on a date’ and forgets all the context, he can breathe slower.
He leaves the compound with mingyu to act as a body guard, and then to sit at the bar area during your date to be there in case something happened. mingyu had told him he had no plans of interrupting anything in case the date goes a little too well, but he did want to be there in case something worse happened and wonwoo wasn’t able to fight on his own.
mingyu enters before him, actually. wonwoo waits by the entrance, just as your letter requests, and he almost wonders for a second if this was all just an elaborate ploy of yours, something just to waste time as you’re comfortably doing whatever mob boss stuff you normally do.
that is until you’re in front of him, in the most stunning sapphire dress he’s ever seen in his life, and he sees why you requested a navy suit on him. you both match perfectly, and he can help but blush like a freaking anime girl when you walk in together. you’re so breathtaking, the kind that could kill.
you had made reservations apparently, and all he could do is watch and follow along cluelessly as you’re taken to the table, and you both sit down.
you take in a breath, and then really look into his eyes. you don’t say anything for a moment, so he tries to start.
“hey,” he says, a little bit breathless, “you look gorgeous, by the way.”
“oh, you don’t have to flatter me, dear. that’s not required of you,” you laugh, and god, it is so beautiful. he could faint right now.
he forgot, honestly, that he didn’t have to impress you. he berated himself for a second when he realizes that he complimented you of his own volition, because he wanted to. that was bad.
“it’s okay, you don’t have to act so nervous. i don’t have any intentions to hurt you,” you say, reaching out for his hand. his hand tremors really had to come at the worst times. your hand is so warm (and he’s such a cold person, he could get used to warm hands holding his cold ones), “is this where you start wondering why i asked you to come on date with me?”
“i’ve been wondering since i read the letter,” he responds. he’s fidgeting, nervous. you have such an intense stare that’s hard to match.
“i’m sure you have,” you say, “if i’m being honest, it didn’t feel like there was much i wanted to ask for. everything is alright— knock on wood— for the moment with me. and i,” you pause, and it catches his attention even more, “i wanted something like this. something normal.”
“i take it… mafia life isn’t really for you, huh?” he half-asks.
“i suppose it’s not too bad of a fit, actually. i think the heists and gambling and money-laundering isn’t too bad. that kind of stuff has been my whole life, so it’s kinda fun to me,” you say, “but it prevents you from living simply. there is no family, there’s no relationships, no house on the hill. i feel like i’m missing out on that aspect of life.”
“yeah, you’re right. i suppose it is sad,” he says. he’s not sure what else to say.
you just continue, “and i just… i wanted to experience something different tonight. maybe i shouldn’t have involved you in my attempt to feel that, or at least didn’t force you to be here.”
“i’m not forced to be here,” he says, even if it’s honestly not very true, “i think i want to be here, too. i’ll experience it with you.”
you smile, and this time it’s softer than he’s ever seen. he can’t seem to remember why your presence was so intimidating before, because in this moment, you are nothing but warm and inviting, “okay, then. it’s settled. let’s have a beautiful night.”
it was cheesy, sure, but it made his heart flutter all the same.
he sees mingyu out of the corner of his eye. he’s sitting at the bar, making small talk with the bartender. wonwoo and mingyu make eye contact, and it’s almost like a series of questions: ‘how is it going? are you alright? do you need me to step in?’
and wonwoo gives a small smile back at him, as if to say ‘i think i’m okay’.
he looks back at you, as you give your order to the server. he doesn’t see someone evil or done anything that is commonplace for his and your kind of life. he just sees you: someone aching for something different. something soft and sweet and normal.
dinner with him flies by, filled with pretty conversations about each other’s lives. you both skirt around conversations about your groups, instead choosing to focus on yourselves. he learn about your hobbies and passions, you learn about his friends and what he likes to do in his free time.
you tell him about the time you were robbing a bank when you were younger. maybe 17. you tell him about the restaurant that’s a front for high-up associates that you used to go to when you were younger. you tell him about how your dad’s assasination put you in the boss spot when you were 19 and stupid and too young for that kind of power. it went to your head and has barely worn off since.
he tells you about how mingyu and him have saved each other’s asses maybe 500 times each. he tells you about how he likes computer games, that if he was given a second shot at life, he’d be a pro-gamer for sure. he tells you about his cat, ranting about how cute it is (and he looks adorable doing it).
wonwoo realizes what’s happening while it’s happening; he’s not dumb or oblivious. he realizes that with every smile, every laugh, every time you get passionate about what you’re talking about and make these dramatic hand movements, and every time you unconsciously make that cute thinking face, he’s falling for you more and more.
and yet he doesn’t have it in himself to pull back; instead, he chooses to lean in. he smiles when you smile, laughs when you laughs, plays along when you tell him overly dramatic stories. he’s so mesmerized that he doesn’t notice the passage of time, how late it’s getting.
what he does notice is you reaching to grab the bill that was dropped off by the server. he snatches it before you can, and quickly puts the money in, catching the server’s attention and asking them to take it now.
you make a upset face at him, but it doesn’t hurt him in the slightest, “my treat.” he says simply.
“i was supposed to pay! you didn’t have to do that!” you argue, and he looks at you with a kind of vulnerability that is so raw, it’s almost infuriating.
“i wanted to. for you.”
you stand, so he stands too. you turn to walk away, but he grasps your wrist at the last second. he thinks you’re about to storm off, mad or something. why were you mad at him? he was trying to do something nice for you!
it’s until you groan and turn back around, getting so so close to him that the rest of the word fades out of view. for a moment it’s just like that. there’s no one else in the world except for you and him.
you’re looking into his eyes, reaching your hand up to lightly cup his cheek, letting your finger drag against his jaw, “can i?” you ask. you don’t even need to say it.
“yeah,” he breathes, shakily, “do whatever you want.”
you kiss him while his stomach does somersaults. his hands find your waist, letting you lead, and, funnily enough, only once he starts to relax, you’re pulling away.
“we should get out of here,” you say, and his heart rate picks up, which you seem to notice (his own heart betrayed him), “we don’t have to do anything, but it’s so loud and energetic in here. i want some peace and quiet.”
he couldn’t agree more. you both walk outside, and he shoots mingyu one last ‘i’m okay’ look, seeing the smirk on his friend’s face may annoy him, but he’s too happy to care.
once you reach your car, you pull him close. his hands rest on the same spot as before, gently on your waist. you ask him, “can i kiss you again?”
“yes,” he whispers back. something about asking the second time feels sweeter, “kiss me a little harder this time, please.”
you smile at his request, gently pressing your lips to his before you grasp the back of his neck to use as leverage when your kiss becomes more intense, giving him what he wants. he’ll always get what he wants now, you suppose. anything he asks for, you’ll give him.
you don’t pull away as fast this time, instead letting him savor the moment.
but you eventually do, pulling back to look at him. he’s so pretty in the moonlight.
“i don’t want this to end,” he says. you smile almost sadly at him.
“i’m sorry, baby, i wish it didn’t have to end so soon, but our agreement was only dinner,” you say, “and you need to go back. our night together has been fun, but this is it. we were only given tonight.”
“i don’t want to go back yet, i don’t want to leave you,” he whispers painfully. god, it was so easy to get comfortable in his arms.
you see that sadness in his eyes, the kind that kills any chance of ever getting over him, “i know, i know, i’m sorry. i didn’t think we would get so close so fast,” you can feel the shaking of his hands even as they rest steady on your hips, “when i asked for a date, i thought it would be a night that would end with no hard feelings about never seeing each other again.”
“well, look where that got us,” he makes himself chuckle, though it’s not out of actual humor.
there’s a pause where neither of you dare to make the next move. there’s a sinking feeling that one of these next kisses will be the last.
“i’ll tell you what: i’ll kiss you until my lips turn blue, so you can never forget what it feels like. not even if you tried,” you say, moving your hands to his shoulders to steady yourself.
“okay,” he responds, “don’t let me forget. don’t ever let me.”
“you know i won’t,” you say, and your kisses are so passionate that for a second, he forgets that he’s jeon wonwoo, seventeen’s best hacker and technology expert, and only knows that he’s yours.
and for you, he’s so sweet, so kind and giving and reciprocative, kissing you back with just as much energy, it’s just as easy to get lost in him.
you stay there for as long as the night will allow, kissing him with feverish intensity, before you really have to send him on his way.
his eyes have that tragic look to them, like he’s sad in such a complicated way. it was never supposed to end like this, with him walking away from you as you get into your car, but the more he thinks about it, he’s wrong.
it was supposed to end like this. with him and you separated.
when he returns, he knows he probably shouldn’t, that he should lie and say it went well (but not too well) and this will not cause future problems, but he tells seungcheol afterwards that he 100% fucked this up for himself. he’s really, really into you.
his boss isn’t surprised.
it’s been two months— not exactly, maybe a month and three weeks or so, but close enough— since that night. not a word from seventeen, nor from wonwoo. it’s hard to not wonder what happened between him and his boss as soon as he returned, if he saw those feelings written out all over his associate’s face, or if it was the lipstick stain on his lips that gave it away.
in your world, nothing had changed (except for maybe everything about your soul). nothing about your mob boss life had been altered. seventeen never spoke a word about the favor, not to you or anyone else. even though word travels fast and very easily, it never got back to you that anyone besides you and seventeen knew about it.
maybe it’s a good thing that you haven’t seen or heard from him, that you probably never will again, but him having that much control over you is dangerous because you’re sure that seungcheol knows. he knows wonwoo likes you, he knows you like wonwoo, and everything in between. he has so much power that it’s incomprehensible what he could manipulate you into doing. he probably knows that. he revels in it.
so you made the point to not reach out, knowing there’d be a trade off next time. you assume that’s why it’s radio silence on his end too.
it only hurts a little bit.
the news hits you as you’re sitting in your office, drinking your coffee as an associate is detailing all possible back up plans for the casino heist planned for next week.
“hold on one minute,” you say to them, and they immediately shut up, letting you take a call that had come in as they were talking, “yes, kihyun? why are you calling? i thought i told you not to call my personal phone.”
he seems anxious on the other end, which is not pleasant to hear, “i tried, boss, but you weren’t answering. and i know i wasn’t supposed to, but i assumed you would want to hear the news as soon as possible.”
“what news?”
“jeon wonwoo of seventeen went missing three days ago. not even his own associates know where he is or if he’s even alive,” he says, and his words, especially the last few, hit particularly hard.
he’s not dead, right? he can’t be dead.
“i… see. thank you, kihyun,” you say.
“i’m here if you need anything, boss,” he says, but you don’t respond, only hanging up the phone and closing your eyes.
you remember there’s still someone else in the room, so you shoo them out, “we’ll go over these plans tomorrow,” you say, as if to tell them to go away. they catch on.
and you’re suddenly all alone in your office, with nothing but the thought of wonwoo being dead to occupy your thoughts. seventeen had enemies, of course they did, but why wonwoo of all of them? why was he the target? it was just impossible to rationalize why someone would choose him to be the one to take out. what would even be the motive?
it doesn’t seem real, the idea that he could be dead, even though it’s technically possible.
the idea dawns on you that maybe it was someone in his own group, maybe even the whole fucking mafia collectively decided to take him out.
and maybe it was because of you. the idea makes your stomach sick.
it’s impossible to know for sure, and you can’t spend your day getting lost in maybe or possibly. you assume the worst, that he’s probably dead, and give yourself a moment to grieve.
and then it’s back to work.
it’s late, so late it’s almost early again, at your residence. the sound of rain is constant and almost soothing as you drink your tea, giving a sense of peace and calm to your night. looking over documents from the casino, everything seems to be in order. last minute preparations for tomorrow are going smoothly, and all that needs to happen now is sleep before the big day.
there’s a ring at your doorbell. so, there goes a peaceful couple hours of sleep.
no one should know that this place exists or that you live here. this place was secret for your own safety and the fact that someone is here, ringing your doorbell at three in the morning is a terrible sign.
you grab the gun you keep under your coffee table as you approach the door. there’s no way to check who it was without letting them know you were there, you just had to open it.
“i’m so sorry i’m here right now!” you hear, barely able to make out the baritone voice over the heavy rain, “i’m sorry i didn’t say anything after that night, i was ordered to not contact you on my own! i’m sorry i’m here, bothering you at your house, but it was the only place i could go!”
when you open the door, the rain covers his frames, concealing his eyes, but it’s him.
not a single thought of ‘how the fuck did you get my address?’ or ‘why did you disappear?’ is more important than him at that moment. you open the screen door and yank him inside, tossing the gun somewhere onto the floor of your kitchen. you rush to grab him a towel, because he’s shivering and freezing and that’s scaring both of you.
you’re borderline yelling at him as you scold him for showing up, especially at this hour, “what were you even thinking? you could have gotten hypothermia! you could exposed this place to people who want me dead! you could have gotten us both killed!”
and yet all he could do is look at you with those beautiful, lovestruck eyes, “i’m so sorry,” he says with a smile.
you hug him, wet clothes and teary eyes and all, crouching down on the floor to meet where he is, curled up in a ball, covering himself up with that towel. he looks so small like this.
“i’m sorry,” he whispers again.
“don’t be, i’m glad you’re alive,” you whisper back, tightening your grip on him as if he’d whither away and disappear if you didn’t.
“i missed you, every single day i thought about you,” he mumbles into your shoulder.
“i did too,” you say, “what happened? why did you disappear? when did this become the only place you could go?”
“i-um,” he starts, hesitant and quietly, “i got into a fight with seungcheol. i told him i didn’t want to live like this anymore, and he said he’d… cut off my head if i ever left.”
“but you still left?”
“i had to, i was so unhappy that it was killing me,” he says with more confidence, still holding onto you like you’re his lifeline, “and, god, i’m so into you that it hurt so bad to never talk to you again. how the hell was i supposed to move on?”
“so what happened after you left? where did you go?”
“mingyu told me i could crash on the couch at his place out of town while i tried to find you, but seungcheol beat that information out of him,” he pulls away just a bit to look at you while he speaks, still holding on for what feels like dear life, “i found this place about a week ago, but it wasn’t until i was literally running for my life that i felt there was nowhere else i could go.”
his stomach rumbles, so you ignore his words for the present and ask, “oh my god, when’s the last time you ate? no, don’t even answer me, i’m making you ramen.”
“it’s okay, you don’t have to-”
“don’t say another word, unless it’s to tell me you’re dying. you’re going to go take a nice, warm shower, and then eat some ramen before we even think about what to do about you going forward,” you cut him off, but your scolding tone is so filled with love and care that he doesn’t mind.
he showers, finally feeling the relief of warm water. he always hated being cold in any capacity, much less freezing to death.
he changes into the clothes you give him: an oversized crewneck and some sweatpants. when he walks back into the kitchen, where you are, he pulls the sleeves as far as they’ll go, giving himself cute little sweater paws.
he’s so adorable, so easy to fall for.
you place a bowl of ramen in front of a seat at the kitchen counter, “eat up, baby.”
baby. he could get used to being called something like that. easy. he sits at the counter, eating like a madman once he realizes how hungry he truly is.
you watch him tenderly, all the adrenaline having faded out and now he’s just here. what are you even gonna do with him? you can’t just kick him out, he’ll get found immediately. so long as no one else finds out about this place, you’re both safe.
he can’t return to seventeen, though. maybe that thought has sunken in for him too, because when he looks up at you and smiles when he sees you looking at him, he’s not smiling like how he did last time you saw him. his smile is smaller and more forced.
all his friends he left behind, all his past he left behind, and that comfortable life he left behind, all to be here, with you.
“what now?” you ask, and the depth of the question is not absent in his mind. he knows what you mean.
he frowns, playing with his chopsticks, “i… i don’t know. i can’t go back, but i’m unsure how to move forward.”
“do you want to give up this life completely? just start fresh?”
“i don’t think so. it’s all i know, all i feel competent at, and if i’m being honest, i don’t mind it. i just need something more,” he says with a chuckle, “i don’t think i could live a life of white picket fences and nuclear families.”
“then,” you say, sitting at the spot next to him at the counter, “consider joining me. i can’t give you a top position, but you can continue your work as a hacker under my group. as much as i want to give you choice, i'm gonna be honest with you: that’s your only good option.”
“i know,” he says.
it hurts a little bit, and he knows what you’re gonna say before you say it, “and i'm sorry i have to say it out loud, but… this will provide you protection against seventeen.”
which is the most miserable thing to think about: his own friends coming to kill him. he’s a traitor now, though. he knows he’s dead to seungcheol. it hurts him somewhere deep in his chest every time he thinks about it.
“okay,” he says, somewhat dully, “i guess i don’t have much of a choice.”
“it’s not that you don’t have a choice in the matter, but you only have one good one,” you say, matter-of-factly, “you won’t be safe anywhere else-”
“i’m sorry,” he says suddenly, and it’s heartbreaking how he just can’t stop saying it, “i’m just so sorry. i put you and mingyu in danger just so i could have a chance to escape. he even let me stay on his couch and then got hurt because of my selfishness.”
“it’s not fair to you to judge yourself so harshly like that. mingyu did that because he wanted to, for you. you couldn’t stop whatever hell came after,” you say, comfortingly, “it’s better to be selfish than unhappy. if mingyu knew you were safe with me, he’d see his efforts as worthwhile.”
“and what about you?” he asks.
“what about me?”
“i put you in danger,” he says.
“wonwoo, i’m a mob boss. and a woman one at that. i’m always in danger,” you say, “it’s nothing new.”
“but-”
“stop talking,” you order, and he complies. you sigh, “it’s not worth it to think about all the things you did wrong. where you are now is where you are; there’s no changing that.”
“i’m sorry,” he laughs breathlessly, “can you just kiss me if you need to shut me up?”
you look into his eyes once again, seeing nothing but beauty and honesty in them. your hand reaches to tilt his chin up as you lean in for a kiss, and all the passion of that night comes back in full force, except with so much more vulnerability and tenderness.
but he pulls away this time.
why is he about to cry?
he answers the question for you, “i’m sorry, i uhm- i’m sorry,” he whispers, his apologies stabbing you incessantly, “nothings wrong. i’m just… so happy. i’m so happy we ended up like this. nothing compares to you.”
i’m so happy we got the happy ending (somewhat).
tomorrow (well, more like later today. in a few hours) he’ll be jeon wonwoo, the best hacker in the area, known for being able to hack into power grids and major international banks. maybe he’ll be there with you, keeping track of the operation, taking down security cameras or disrupting communications.
but for tonight, he’s simply wonwoo. he holds you like he doesn’t want anything else from this life.
nothing compares to this.

BOSS YOU AROUND
Mingyu x afab reader
WC: 3.7K
WARNINGS: GUN PLAY, VIOLENCE, THREATS, DUBCON?, KIDNAPPING, throat fucking , unprotected sex, heavy degradation, spanking, swtich mingyu, switch reader, creampie, mingyu says some wild shit towards the end 🤷‍♀️
Mingyu is officially sick and tired of being the muscle man. It's not even his specialty, he's supposed to work with Jihoon and Wonwoo in tech, but alas he’s always called to do the dirty work.  He’s just too fucking nice and he can’t stand to hurt people. He just tells himself it’s what he gets for being 6’2 and built like a brick wall. As he slams the security guard to your building’s head into the wall he’s rethinking his life choices. The guard finally faints and he goes upstairs with Jun to your front door. He rings your doorbell so as to not disturb you too much at this hour.
“Who is it?” your voice rings out.
“UPS” Mingyu says with a giggle, making Jun laugh along with him.
On the other side of the door you grow suspicious. You’re definitely not getting a package past midnight…
You creep to the door and look out the peephole to be greeted with two men you’ve never seen before.
“Y/N, I know you’re there” the dark haired one taunts making your breath catch.
You back away from the door trying to remain quiet when you hear one of them say “I’m tired of waiting” quickly followed by heavy kicks to your door.
What the fuck is happening? You’re not going to sit here and let two strangers break into your fucking apartment. You turn around and run to your window, trying to leave through the fire escape. As you get your window open your front door flies open and the two men walk inside nonchalantly. Your eyes widen as you duck through the window, running down the flights. You hear heavy boots stomping behind you, but you don’t turn around. You’re on your final flight when your feet leave the ground, being lifted off the floor by the back of your shirt. You kick and scream, trying to get him off you but he wraps a large hand around your throat.
“Don’t be like that, bunny.”
You turn to face the man and your eyes widen. Woah. If this is the man kidnapping you you’re going down without a fight.
“And who are you?” you ask with a seductive twang.
“Are you flirting with me right now?”
“Well, you did sweep me off my feet” you shrug.
He gives you a blank stare before nodding to someone behind you. You feel a sharp prick in your neck making you gasp.
“You asshole you didn’t need to sedate me!” you speak as you begin to feel weak.
“Better safe than sorry.” he smirks.
You muster up the last of your strength to kick him right in the balls watching him crumble as he drops you to the floor and you succumb to the darkness.
~~~~~~~~
“Will you stop looking at me?” Mingyu grits out, throwing his head against the wall.
“In order for you to know I’m looking at you, you have to be looking at me.”
“Shut the fuck up.”
“Come make me, Daddy.” you smile widely at the man standing across from you.
“I will come there and shoot you in the head if you keep this up.”
“If you were gonna kill me you would've done it already.”
“That's not true, we need something from you.”
“And I need something from you, Mingyu.”
“What?”
“I’d guess it's about eight inches, thick, probably a little veiny.”
He walks up to you and leans over your body tied to a metal chair. “You want my cock, baby?”
“I mean I wouldn't say no.” you smirk.
“You don’t even know me. Are you that much of a slut?”
“For a guy like you? Absolutely.”
He quietly chuckles and backs up, turning and walking straight out the room and leaving you alone again. He’s been doing this the entire time you’ve been here. You couldn't actually tell how long they’ve had you here and to be honest you’re not quite sure why. You’re shocked you’re not freaking out, normally you’d be crying and throwing up but maybe the fact they have not harmed you is making you a little calmer. That and Mingyu who constantly visits you but does nothing but complain to you. You’re starting to think he brought you here so he wouldn't have to pay for a therapist.
He comes back into the room with a man you’ve never seen before.
“If all your friends are hot, I'll just stay here forever.” you say, mesmerized by the man with the glasses standing next to Mingyu.
“You weren’t joking.” glasses says under his breath, walking back out the door.
Mingyu walks up to you and unties your binds. “Are you not scared that I'll murder you?” you ask, slightly offended.
One second you're looking up at him and the next you're trapped against the wall with his hand tightly wrapped around your neck.
“Are you forgetting I fucking kidnapped you?” he spits. “This isn't shits and giggles. You’re not leaving this place alive, so if I were you I’d stop taunting your captor.”
That sends you straight back to earth, You feel like everything hits you at once, your fears and worries from before welling up. Tears gather in your eyes as he begins to drag you through the basement, bringing you up a set of stairs into a large warehouse. He shoves you into a chair but you’re struggling to catch your breath, feeling a panic attack on the way. He’s right, you don’t know him, he kidnapped you, he fucking drugged you. You grip the fabric of your pants, trying to ground yourself as you whimper out of frustration.
You faintly hear someone enter the room but you remain focused on trying not to completely break down right now.
“Shut that bitch up before I give her something to cry about” someone speaks, making you cry even harder.
Someone softly grabs your chin and tilts your head up. Through teary eyes you see Mingyu squatted in front of you.
“Listen, now is not the time for this. These guys are not as nice as me, they’ll actually hurt you. I need you to put on a brave face for me, ok? Don’t let them think you’re weak.” He wipes your tears from your eyes and smooths your hair. “Just take a deep breath. Pretend like you’re talking to me.” he smiles, making you calm down enough to catch your breath.
“Mingyu! Enough babying get the fuck out my way.”
You watch him sigh but get up, walking to the back of the room and leaning against the wall.
A tall man approaches you with a condescending smile. “Hello, Y/N.”
“Who are you?”
“I’ll be asking the questions here.” he says with a harsh tug to your hair.
“You haven’t asked a question.”
His eyes widen but he wipes the smirk off your face with a punch straight to your jaw. Holy fucking shit. If he wanted you to stop crying that's definitely not happening now. You let out a sound between a groan and a whimper, dropping your head. He grabs your hair harshly and yanks your head back.
“Where the fuck is San?”
Your eyes widen. San?
“I haven’t seen him in like 6 months.”
“If you lie to me again I’ll just kill you.”
“I’m not lying! He left for London 6 months ago, I haven’t seen him since.”
“London? What business does he have in London?”
“I don’t know” you cry, scared he wouldn't like your answer.
He beckons over one of his henchmen and speaks to them before standing up.
“Pleasure doing business with you.” he smiles and you breathe a sigh of relief.
“Jun, kill this bitch.” he says and begins to walk away. Your eyes widen and you stand up to run only to be shoved back down by who you’re assuming to be Jun. You begin to cry more, feeling helpless. You don’t understand what’s going on and all you can do is sit here and fucking cry.
“Wait.” Mingyu says a bit too loudly to sound natural. He clears his throat, “At least let me have my way with her first, it’ll be a shame to let that pussy go to waste.”
Your heart stops. As if this can’t get any worse.
The man looks at him oddly. “Didn’t know you’d be into that but go ahead.” he says and walks out, his entourage following until it's just you and Mingyu. He starts to walk towards you but you scurry towards the door. You attempt to open it, but there's a code on the lock. You don't even hear him approach you until he has you caged in his arms. “Y/N turn around.”
“Mingyu please don’t.”
“Do you think I’m actually gonna assault you? I know we don’t know eachother but I’d think you would think of me better than that.”
“You said it yourself, I don’t know you.” you whisper.
“There's cameras in here you need to act scared.”
“Well I am scared.”
“Jesus christ Y/N, I’m not going to hurt you. I’m tryna get you out of here alive.” he whispers.
He unlocks the door and begins to drag you out of the room, but you pretend to fight back.
He grabs your throat, but doesn’t squeeze. “Stop fucking fighting me.” he growls, flashing you a sheepish smile after.
What is up with this guy? Is this fucking funny to him?
He drags you up a flight of stairs and outside.
“Ok, I'm going to pretend to trip and you run to the black range rover by the tree. There's keys in the passenger cup holder.”
“That's a bad place to keep your keys.”
He gives you a tight smile. “Would you rather I let Jun kill you?”
He has a point.
“Ok, bye.”
“No thank you kiss?” he pouts.
“I’ll kick you in the balls again.”
He puts his hands up in surrender.
You run to the car and drive away, watching him disappear through the rear view mirror.
~~~~~
2 months later
You hear two loud knocks at your door. “UPS”
Your heart stops. You tiptoe to your kitchen cabinet pulling out the gun you bought for moments like this. Two more knocks sound and you hesitantly walk to the door, peaking through your peephole.
Oh. It is actually a UPS worker. You open your door and sign for your package. You look down your hallway when you see movement and see someone peeking around the corner but quickly pulling back when you look in that direction.
“Mingyu I know that's you.” you say with a sigh.
You hear a thud followed by a “Damn it.”
He walks around the corner with a pout.
“Why are you here?”
“What? You didn't want to see me?” he says, sounding offended.
“Mingyu you fucking kidnapped me.” you deadpan.
“Ok but I also saved you so you gotta give me some credit.”
“Ok fine.”
He stands in front of your door and stares at you without speaking.
“Why are you here?” you sigh.
“Oh, I came to kidnap you again. They didn't like that I let you go.”
Your eyes widen and you slam the door shut. “C’mon Y/N I’m fucking joking.” you hear through the other side of the door. You take a deep breath, trying to remain calm. You open the door and he invites himself in, taking a seat on your couch.
“Lovely set up you have here.”
“Get to the point.” you say a little too hostile for his liking.
“I don’t know. You were on my mind so I came to see how you were doing.”
You slit your eyes at him. There's no way he thinks this normal.
“I don’t believe you”
He looks at you with a pout. “It's true I just wanted to see how you were doing.” he whispers.
You laugh. This guy isn't real. You walk up to him and ruffle his hair. “Mingyu you’re really not what you seem.”
“What's that supposed to mean?”
“This big beefy man is just a pouty little princess.”
“That's not true.” he whines.
“Mingyu you’re literally pouting right now.”
He immediately fixes his face and stands up, making you stumble backwards. He catches you by your waist and sets you upright before starting to rant at a pace you couldn't keep up with.
“Ok,you got me. I’m here because i’m so god damn horny and all I could think about was you saying all this nasty shit about what you wanted to do to me but I didnt wanna come and make you think I was just using you for some quick fuck because I’m not but I guess I am and I know you’re probably traumatized so the last thing on your mind is sex but fucking hell I can’t even cum without thinking of you so I had to come but I don’t know what-”
“Holy shit, Shut up.”
He looks at you with wide eyes but shuts up, sitting back down.
“Mingyu, tell me what you want from me.”
He groans and mumbles out “I want you to fuck me.”
You laugh. “You’re fucking pathetic. You could get any girl you want yet you're beating your dick to me? The girl you fucking kidnapped? The girl who wants nothing to do with you?”
He remains silent looking at you with wide eyes. “Mingyu, do you like when people are mean to you? Is that it? You want me to take all my anger out on you? Fuck you until you can’t make a single thought in that pretty little head of yours?”
His breathing picks up, making you smile. “You like this? You like when women degrade you? Who would've thought.”
“Please.”
“Begging already? What do you want me to do to you?”
“Whatever you want I’ll take it all I swear.” he throws his head back on the couch. “You can do whatever you want to me and I’ll be good for you.”
“You promise?”
“Yes, I promise! I just want to feel you.”
You can’t believe this six foot something bean pole is sitting here begging for you. Your ego is through the roof.
You run a hand down his chest, his breathing picking up. He looks at you with hooded eyes.
“I like my men quiet and submissive. Can you do that for me? Keep these perfect lips shut?” you say, tracing the outline of his lips. He nods furiously, making you giggle.
“Oh, Mingyu. What am I going to do with you?”
You straddle him and pull him into a deep kiss, his moans turning you on more. You harshly grind your hips down on him, feeling his hard length.
“You really like this don’t you?” you whisper in his ear, dragging your hands down the hardness of his body. He’s sculpted like a god, every ridge and curve as toned as the last. He nods, hands flying to your waist to grind you harder onto his length.
“You should've heard what was running through my mind the first time I saw you. I was thinking I’d let you do anything you wanted to me, I would have taken it however you wanted me to, no complaints. You could’ve bent me over my couch and fucked me right then and there and I would’ve got on my knees and thanked you”
He groans, burying his face into your neck. “Will you fuck me the way I want? Nice and deep? I want it so bad, Gyu.” you whisper.
Before you know it your back hits the couch and he’s hovering above you, trapping your hands above your head.
“I think you’re forgetting who's in charge here. I came to fuck this tight little pussy not to be bossed around.”
“Yet you let me boss you around so easily.” you smirk.
“It’ll be hard to make orders when you're gagging on my cock.”
“As if.”
He grabs you by your neck and drags you to the nearest wall pressing you against it.
“If you want me to fuck you like a slut then I’ll fuck you like a slut.”
He shoves you to your knees and traps your body between his and the wall, shoving his pants down enough to pull out his cock and spitting on his length.
“Open up.”
You look up at him with a defiant look, refusing to listen. “If we have to be like that, so be it.”
He pulls a black gun out of his pocket, pressing it to your temple and cocking it.
“Open your fucking mouth, slut.”
Your eyes widen and you open your mouth.
“That's what I like to see.” he smirks. He rubs his tip on your lips, smearing his precum as if it was lipgloss. You hate to admit it but you’re beyond turned on, his dominance making you clench your legs together tightly.
“Pretty.” he whispers before slowly sliding his length into your mouth. “Just be a good toy and take it.”
He begins thrusting into your mouth, pressing your head to the wall by your hair so you can do nothing but take it.
“Fucking hell, your throat is so tight. I should use it all night hmm? Cum as many times as I want and force you to swallow it. I think I’ll just leave you high and dry.”
You groan in annoyance, making him speed up his thrust. “Unh, unh we can’t have that. I want you so cockdrunk you can’t even breathe, let alone think.”
He drives his dick down your throat, moaning at the sound of your gagging and the tears flowing down your cheeks. You can barely take him, his dick just as big as you thought it would be. “Just like that, Baby.” he groans, pushing as deep as he can and holding it until you begin to get light headed. He pulls out and gives you a second to catch your breath.
“Bend over the couch.”
You stumble up to your feet and walk back to the couch and bend over the arm, bracing yourself for whatever he was coming. He walks behind you and harshly spanks your ass.
“How wet is this pussy?” he asks and rubs you over your shorts.
You whine in response, your pride damaged. He slowly drags your pants and panties down, groaning at the sight.
“Fucking hell. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone get this wet. You really enjoy being treated like a fucking whore, don’t you?”
“Fuck you.”
He lets a glob of spit drip from his mouth to your cunt, rubbing it through your folds.
“You're wet enough for me to slide right in, I’m sure sluts like you aren’t used to getting  any prep right? Always ready to take whatever cock you can get.”
He slides two fingers into you, thrusting in and out, trying to work you open despite his words.
“Pussys so tight, baby. I know the perfect way to stretch this shit out.”
You feel something cold and hard press against your clit and run through your folds. No fucking way.
“This’ll do a nice job,” he whispers. He presses your chest into the couch and slides the tip of the gun into you, watching you stretch open around it. He thrusts it in and out, watching your wetness gather on the base. It’s somehow making you feel good, the fear making you leak down your thighs.
“Can’t wait to fuck you open on my cock.
He pulls the gun out and taps his cock on your hole, teasing you.
“Beg”
“No.”
He digs his gun into your side. “You’re in no position to say no. Do you not want to cum?”
You groan. “Please fuck me, Mingyu.”
“Hmm, I don’t think so.”
The fuck?
“What.”
“Tell me why I should fuck you. You need it don’t you?”
“Yes, I need it-” Before you can finish your sentence he forces the gun down your throat making you freeze.
“On second thought,  I don't want to hear you.”
He pushes just his tip, relishing in your warmth. “If you don’t start listening i’ll finish the job, cum in you and then fucking kill you. Is that what you want? The cops to find you with my cum leaking out of you?”
Jesus fucking christ, if he keeps talking you’ll actually cum untouched. You moan around the gun, pushing your hips into him.
“That's what I like to see.” he groans and slides in completely, quickly picking up a steady pace and pounding you into the couch.
You whine and groan around the gun, unable to move due to his grip on you. His cock feels heavenly, hitting all the right spots and fitting in you perfectly. This is exactly what you wanted him to do to you the moment you saw him.
He suddenly pulls the gun out and throws it to the floor carelessly. When a loud bang sounds when the gun collides with the wall you both freeze. A bullet hole in your wall is staring at you along with the realization someone is bound to call the police.
“We got three minutes, tops. Think you can cum by then?” he laughs, resuming his thrusts.
“Fuck yea, don’t stop.”
He lifts your hips and hits deeper, making your toes curl. You swear he’s in your stomach with how deep he’s going, and his whines and moans do nothing but spur you on.
 “Rub that sweet pussy for me I wanna feel you cum around me.”
You sneak a hand to your clit and rub harsh circles, chasing your high as you hear sirens approaching. With one particularly hard thrust you're gone, creaming around his cock. He takes this as a sign to let go, cumming deep into your spent pussy.
“Keep it all in there for me, Ok? They're gonna need some evidence when they question you.”
He pulls you in for a kiss as he pulls up his pants. “We should do this again.” he says with a cheeky smirk as loud bangs sound from your door.
“I’ll think about it.” you smile as he climbs through your fire escape.
“I’ll see you soon.” he smirks and clubs down, slipping into a black range rover and driving off.
You rush to open your door, being met by officers with their guns drawn. You decide to give Mingyu a hard time, easily fitting into the role of the distressed woman.
“He just left through the fire escape.” you say with a dramatic whimper, laughing on the inside about the night Mingyu’s about to have.

It is a beautiful day, and like they always say: beautiful things happen on beautiful days, and you were damn ready for the said beautiful thing to happen!
The plan is simple—you and Jun have gone over it at least fifty times, and Seokmin has been standing there listening to you both intently throughout the whole ordeal.
“So, let’s go over it once again,” you say, pointing at the white board with the picture of a man, Mingyu to be exact, the heir to the Kim Corp. and your target.
“He leaves his office to have coffee every afternoon exactly at 3pm at the nearest café named ‘Carvery’, am I right?” Jun and Seokmin nod with a concentrated look on their faces.
“Next he goes to the park, sits there for fifteen minutes, on most days, and then takes the path that leads them straight back to the building, correct?” The two men again nod, and then Jun takes over the talking.
“More often than not, he hates company during his afternoon runs, so the best chance we have of abducting the man is when he is between the café and the park. This will give us at least a twenty-minute head start before the police and his family start looking for him.”
Now you and Seokmin nod at the man, and Seokmin takes the podium to present the next part.
“Jun and I will be on the streets while y/n waits in the car, and from the background check we ran last month, we know the man is well trained in martial arts, so we will try and attack him with the anesthetic as soon as possible.”
“And after the guy is unconscious, we will flee with his ass~,” adds Jun.
“Sounds like a solid plan,” you laugh as you high five the two men.
Indeed, it was a solid plan. You three had considered every possibility and chosen this day to execute your plan. It’s perfect and thorough, so what can go wrong?
--
A lot apparently.
You reached the destination ten minutes early to give Seokmin and Jun ample amount of time to prepare for the attack.
As you parked your car near the pavement where the abduction would take place, you see a man walk past the car wearing a beige trench coat with some sort of concoction from the coffee shop.
Now if you were a seasoned abductor, you would have known not to mess with the person as the timing was not right. But that was not the case, and seeing a person who vaguely matched the physical descriptions of the man you were actually supposed to abduct gave you enough reason to jump the gun and take this man hostage.
Before you could process anything, Seokmin jumped on the guy, trying to tackle him while Jun tried to find a way to inject the drug into his system. After another minute of struggle, taking at least five punches in their abdomen and faces, both the men were successful in sedating the man.
They hurriedly carried him to the car and you three sped off to the base to ask his family for ransom.
--
You have been back at the base for three hours now. As you look at the unconscious man tied to the chair in front, you realize the grave mistake you made by not seeing his face the minute you were actually kidnapping him.
“I mean if you look at his eyes, they look very similar to the real target, you know. Maybe he ate too much last night and is a bit swollen now,” Jun says in a wise tone. Now if you were stupid like Seokmin, you would have accepted this analogy of his just like the hundred others he had spewed in the past two hours, but you are not. So, you hit the guy’s head while calmly saying.
“Will you keep quiet for a minute? You know as well as I that this is the wrong man. We don’t even know who he actually is. So, we wait for him to gain consciousness and then interrogate him.”
You have figured that screaming and crying will get you nowhere. All it will do is trigger Seokmin’s panic attack, and you do not think he can manage another one after the one hour long one he just resurfaced from.
“Our best bet is that we abducted a pretty important dude, or else we know the boss will have our meat served to his dogs for their nightly feasts,” you continued.
“I can see he is wearing pretty costly brands all over. My guts say he is rich,” Seokmin pipes up.
“Seok, your gut told you to scream for the past hour. I don’t trust it a lot now,” you complain.
“I think it’s your fault, too. You should have stopped us from abducting the guy instead of just staring from the car, you know,” Jun says.
Now, you will consider yourself to be a level-headed person, but one thing that gets to you more than anything else is a false accusation. On top of that, the bitch has the gal to accuse you of being careless when they were the ones showing literally no care about their work, owing to the fact you were not even supposed to abduct the untouchable Kim Mingyu in the first place. The leader of your clan, although you three had never seen him, mostly operated through Jeonghan, his right-hand man. The guy you agreed to kidnap was apparently remarkably close to your boss. But when faced with the tough choice of loyalty towards one gang and the lump sum of three million, you three had to face the situation and betray your gang. You know you should not, but the small jobs with the gang were not enough to even pay your rent!
So, who does Jun think he is to shift the blame towards you when you have done nothing but try to make a secure living for all three of you. Therefore, you do the thing that your sane brain advises you to.
Go off at Jun.
“So, if I fail to babysit two grown men while on an extremely important mission that included them, the blame is shifted towards me?!”
“You were both supposed to wait for my instructions before confronting the poor bloke. Now, if things go wrong, it will be your faults, and I will be dragged into it because I was the main brain behind the planning.”
“Guys, I think we should focus on the guy more; I think he is stirring.”
This statement from Seokmin caught both of your attention, causing you to cease the argument immediately to take a look at the man in front of you.
Without hesitation, you put your gun on his head and ask, “who are you, tell us about yourself.”
The man albeit good looking with his doe eyes and plump lips, gave you three a mean stare before speaking sassily.
“Shouldn’t you know the identity of the person you kidnap?”
“If we knew, I don’t think I would have asked about you,” you reply.
The man scoffs before informing you the most gut-wrenching piece of information you have ever heard.
“I’m Choi Seungcheol leader of Choi Clan.”
--
When Seungcheol met Mingyu today, he was feeling particularly drained and sought the comfort of a familiar face, longing for a brief respite from the relentless demands of his job. Mingyu, sensing his friend's exhaustion, proposed they take a detour to unwind, considering Seungcheol's grueling schedule. Gratefully accepting the suggestion, Seungcheol had embarked on what he thought would be a much-needed moment of relaxation.
Oh, how wrong he was.
As he leisurely sipped his coffee, enjoying a fleeting moment of calm, the tranquility was shattered by the sudden onslaught of a group of thugs. Seungcheol had braced himself for a possible mugging, but the idea of being abducted never crossed his mind. He curses himself for sending Soonyoung away earlier, now regretting not having company in this unforeseen predicament.
To make matters worse, Seungcheol felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him. A mafia boss getting abducted!
How humiliating.
Now, do not get him wrong, he was, in reality, as far from incompetent as the Sahara was from water, as Seungkwan was from being calm, as Jihoon was from showing affection—you get the point.
In fact, he had been the first in three generations to successfully reclaim the southeastern part of the city for his clan from the Yoon family, a testament to his capabilities.
Now bound and surrounded by three hapless captors whose incompetence was glaringly evident, judging by the one who he suspects was crying prior to their conversation with him. He suspected they had targeted Mingyu, but mistakenly seized him instead. Seungcheol could not help but shake his head at their sheer incompetence.
Now, again, he is not that scared. He knows he has a trusted pack of workers who would join heaven and earth in search of him. No, he is least bothered about himself.
What he is actually bothered about is who planned to abduct Mingyu, because he is strictly off limits for his clan members. He knows this as much as anyone that they respect the young heir a lot, not only due to his kind nature, but also because of the relationship he has with their leader.
So, when he informs his three kidnappers his name, he gets the weirdest of responses ever—a chorus of ‘shits’ and ‘fucks.’ Moreover, he sees all three of his kidnappers suddenly fall down at his feet and grumbling out the most nonsensical bullshit ever. The only words he vaguely captures are ‘it was supposed to be someone else’ and ‘sirs’.
This confuses the man even more. But then he suddenly sees all three of them take their masks off, revealing two men and, dare he say, a very gorgeous woman. Now in any other situation,
Seungcheol would have laughed, but now that he is in it himself, the only reaction he can provide is a confused head nod as the woman immediately goes to untie his hands.
--
“So, you are telling me that you were paid to abduct my friend who you know is off limits, but still went ahead with the idea, even though you are the members of my gang?!”
He says as he looks at your group standing in front of him with their heads bowed down looking like kids getting scolded.
“But sir, we barely make any money from doing the jobs assigned to us. The only way for us to pay our rent was for taking up jobs from outside, and this one paid us a huge sum. We never wanted you to be the one getting abducted instead, we swear!” you suddenly exclaim with the extreme need to explain yourself.
Your two partners beside you do their dutiful job by nodding their heads with your rant.
“You three fucked up really bad, didn’t you?” He says, looking a tad bit amused.
“We are really sorry!” Seokmin chokes out, visibly scared by the whole ordeal.
“Well, it’s time I go back, so take me back to the office.”
Right after that statement comes out of his mouth, you three are escorting him out of the door to the car parked outside to take him back.
--
“So, you are telling me these three, these newbies who literally didn’t have any good job for them to gain experience, drugged your ass and took you to god knows where, and you couldn’t even put up a good fight?!”
Jeonghan exclaims, looking at the seated, nervous, and scared faces of the three of you from Seungcheol’s office’s glass.
“Apparently not,” the older man sighs.
“My friend, are you sure you are a real mafia? Because in light of the current happenings, I am starting to question your integrity a lot.” Jeonghan says as he barks out a laugh, taking immense pleasure at his friend’s humiliation.
“Or maybe you were too caught up staring at the pretty lady to notice that you were getting kidnapped.”
The bitch continues to make fun of the older man.
“I just thought I was getting mugged, so I didn’t fight hard enough. Who knew I would be kidnapped instead.” Seungcheol grumbles, pouting a bit.
“Which is even worse, because you are telling me you would have let people just mug you for no reason when you are one of the most influential people underground!” Jeonghan said while looking pretty concerned about the statement his superior just spewed, and he does indeed have a hard time accepting it.
“Ahh! Just get over with it and let me go. Plus make sure the three of them face the appropriate consequences for not only abducting me, but also trying to abduct my friend,” Seungcheol barks out while walking out, thoroughly humiliated, and annoyed that his junior was having fun at his expense.
So Jeonghan does the very thing at which he is extremely good.
Create chaos.
 Right after his superior leaves, he strides towards the group and says, “so because the boss has instructed me to do something with you three which will stop you guys from going off the hook, I’m going to assign you some jobs in the organization because I can.”
Now, anyone even vaguely familiar with Jeonghan would recognize the expression he wore just before chaos ensued, but contrary to popular belief, Jeonghan is actually quite amiable—at least, that is what he believes, and that is what matters, right?
He continues, “Junhui, you will be overseeing the artillery division. Our deputy head Chan will ensure you are well informed about your job. You will meet him tomorrow. As for Seokmin,” he paused, a sly smile crossing his face, which made Seokmin visibly nervous, “You, my friend, will be our esteemed boss's driver. Lastly, y/n, you will be his assistant. You shall be meeting Chan tomorrow, too; he will explain the workings of your new role.”
Normally, in any ordinary conversation, you would not dare ask inappropriate questions, but the circumstances were far from normal, so you proceeded with the most audacious question you could muster: “Why did Chan leave his previous post?”
Jeonghan politely responded, “He left because the job didn’t suit him, so we shifted him to the artillery department as a deputy head.”
Unspoken was the fact that Chan had been worn down by the boss's relentless bullying, quietly requesting a transfer for at least three years before Jeonghan finally relented. Since then, the turnover of assistants had been alarmingly high. Jeonghan desperately hoped you would stick around. Moreover, if either you or Seungcheol objected to this arrangement, he had enough leverage to ensure you both comply. Enough dirt to keep both of you in line.
--
Your meeting with Chan the next day went well. He explained to you the workings, gave you tips and tricks on how to make sure all the work gets done. Overall, a 10/10 experience, except the small hiccup at the end where he cryptically said something along the lines of “Best of all fucking luck with this job because you will need it.”
Now a small best of luck is never a bad gesture, but that statement!
That shit was a bit too hostile, even for you. But you are fine, happy even. Anything that saves you from getting your life cut short by a mafia leader is always welcomed.
--
“What are you doing here?”
“Where is Jeonghan?”
The first two sentences to ever leave The Choi Seungcheol’s mouth the minute he sees your face when he comes into his office that afternoon. Indeed, so delightful!
"Sir, I've been assigned as your work assistant for the time being," you reply, your eyes downcast. It is a surreal turn of events considering just yesterday this man was tied up in your basement. After that ordeal, everything seemed to take on a different hue, almost as if you were hearing the bells of heaven. So, that reaction seems pretty appropriate to you given the circumstances.
Now you see our oh so beloved Mr. Choi was not just an underground mob because what is the fun in that, right! He mostly did international business under the guise of his company named The ChoiTech, solely based on providing technological change using sustainable means. Pretty cleaver tactic, although overused, but still gets the job done, so who are you to judge.
The man looking extremely shocked at your statement immediately rushed inside his office, you presume, to call Jeonghan. And sure enough, within five minutes of him disappearing from your sight, you could hear him loudly complaining to his secretary on the phone. “But Jeonghan I can’t be collaborating with her, after what she did to me yesterday!”
The man whined and then suddenly you could hear hushed whispers, so being the curious cat you were, slowly crept near the door to hear the conversation better.
“But man, it’s humiliating. She kidnapped me for fucks sake”, the oh so powerful man, who people assumed will one day rule the underworld, whined like a kid who has been denied to go on a playdate with their best friend.
By this time, you were almost pressed onto the door when suddenly the sound of someone clearing their throat made you jump away from it and look about for the person who stopped you from consuming you daily dose of gossip.
The culprit, Joshua, stood right in front of your desk with an amused look on his face.
Now Joshua is someone you were extremely familiar with, being the man who took care of assigning roles to the lower members of the group, you have had a lot of angry conversations with him.
“I would ask you if Seungcheol is busy, but the way you were trying so hard to eavesdrop, makes me think otherwise,” he says, making you roll your eyes.
“Just give me a minute to tell him you are here, then you can go in.”
The man nodded still looking thoroughly amused at how sad you looked due to missing out on whatever conversation you were listening to.
After a minute, the man was inside, now looking even happier that he has seen his next victim to torment.
--
“So Jeonghan was indeed right,” he said, looking like he was having a tough time controlling his laugh.
“Not you, too,” the pouty man whined from behind the desk. “But really, can you tell him to not put that woman as my assistant? I get war flashbacks every time I see her face,” he continued whining.
“I mean, I could do that, but where is the fun there, right!” Joshua, thoroughly enjoying his boss’s misery, replied. “But in all seriousness, you could just treat her like Chan. The boy is still traumatized by the amount of work you made him do,” he thoughtfully added.
The older replies, “I liked Chan, he was nice, would do anything you ask him to!”
“And so will she. Her life is at stake here, give her some benefit of the doubt.”
This statement made the older think like never before. Plans of tormenting you to quit your job rushing past his brain at high speed. Suddenly everything made sense.
“I can take my revenge! That is exactly why Jeonghan made her my assistant. Oh, my friend is such a genius!” Seungcheol said, looking a bit too enthusiastic.
“Ok, I am sure it was done to decrease his workload, but whatever you say, man,” the younger said skeptically after seeing the diabolical look on the elder’s face.
--
It has already been three weeks and suddenly you understand what Chan meant all those days back when he wished you good luck. To put it quite plainly, your boss is crazy.
The man was a combination of workaholic and perfectionist, which resulted in him getting swamped by work and by default the same fate befalls you every day, too. For the past three weeks, you have had a challenging time at the office to even take a break to eat food.
The men you called your enemies once, aka Jeonghan and Joshua, are the ones now saving you from dying out of malnutrition. You are eternally thankful to them. But more than anything now, you regret trying to kidnap Kim Mingyu—the name makes you want to cry in a corner and throw rocks at people, if you had any time to do so.
“Sir, you scheduled two appointments at the same time: the new project for the Orin Community Park and another one with Mr. Xu for the narcotic deal.”
You informed the man who had his face shoved in some papers, reading something diligently.
“Why did you not stop me from doing so then, you were right beside me when I was going through the plan.”
Now, it is your job to curate the perfect schedule for the man to follow, but Seungcheol being the guy born only to cause you inconvenience made his schedule for the week himself this time.
Why you might ask?
Purely because the man is a chronic insomniac and whenever he has trouble sleeping, instead of taking measures to have a peaceful sleep, he tries his hands in different works because he can, and this time his victim was the poor, poor schedule of his.
“Because you had already sent them both emails, sir,” you say, thoroughly exasperated.
“Ok maybe I did, so now I obviously can’t cancel on both so you figure out something so that I can attend both the meetings, because I ain’t missing any.”
The man just turns his chair around and keeps reading whatever he was reading in the first place.
With an extremely calm voice, you say, “sir I need you to stop trying to do something to pass time when you can’t sleep. I need you to actually go to a doctor.”  “Can’t,” comes his response, making you sigh more.
Sometimes it feels like you are working as a babysitter to a grown man instead of an assistant to a CEO.
Seeing the conversation would be going nowhere if you keep talking to him, you go out and do the second-best thing in your books.
Call Chan.
“Lemme guess, the boss is giving you a hard time!” The first sentence he says right after picking up the phone.
Sighing, you tell him all of Seungcheol’s various administrative behaviors throughout this week. When you got to the part where he had so bravely and meticulously made the perfect schedule, Chan started laughing. The gall of that boy!
“Wait, he still does that!” He exclaimed between his laughs, making you feel even more annoyed.
After calming down he says, “just make Jeonghan or Jihoon go for the community meeting and let him manage the narc. I know you are thankful, so do not mention it, but maybe buy me a meal when you are free, as a repayment.”
Chuckling at the younger boy, you agreed to get him whatever he asks for purely because he is a literal angel, and he deserves the world. Ok, maybe it is a bit too dramatic, but the boy was indeed your angel in disguise.
Planning on following through with the advice Chan gave you, you called both Jeonghan and Jihoon simultaneously. As Jeonghan was busy, Jihoon accepted the work of going to the community welfare meeting instead of Seungcheol.
After that, the whole day was smooth sailing. But the main root of all your problems was happy, maybe not healthy, but the look of pure happiness and the twinkling eyes when he passed by your desk was hard to miss.
This man was slowly but surely making sure to strip you of your patience bit by bit.
--
The last straw to eradicating your already depleting patience came when Seungcheol in all his glory, during one of his nightly ‘Imma take away other’s jobs because sleep refuses to befriend me’ escapades, deleted all your assistant notes for the server by mistake.
You still are baffled as to how he did that. Truth be told so is he. He was scrolling away on his phone when he saw this reel about ‘how to increase your Wi-Fi speed.’ Extremely intrigued by it, he had actually tried to increase the internet speed in his house, and he swears on every god on planet earth it worked. So, he tried doing so with the one in his office, which weirdly enough resulted in removal of all the information that you had stored in your laptop.
Now if this would have happened to his computer, too, you would not have gotten as angry as you were, but the motherfucker’s computer was all well and good and if you actually pay attention, it seems that his internet speed has increased, too!
How this man become a CEO is beyond you. What is not so beyond is your pure hatred for him and his technologically challenged ass.
So that night when Seungcheol, stayed back as usual to do work, you took your chances, entered his office, and slammed a ball of yarn and two knitting needles on his table while scaring the life out of the, not so, poor man.
“Start knitting!” you calmly said.
“But I don’t know how to though!” he replies, thoroughly confused.
“Then learn, Seungcheol! I don’t care what you want to do, I need you to learn and pick up a hobby, start gaming, try knitting anything! Just make sure you are not trying to turn the office upside down.”
Anyone who knows Seungcheol also knows never to question his nightly routines, but more than that, they also know the pride of the man is too high to ever accept his mistake. So, when you commit the grave crime of pointing out his mishap with the Wi-Fi router that morning, you hit the nail on the head and pissed him to the fucking moon.
“So, you think I’m bad at what I do?!”
“No, I think you are technically inept. And you should leave it to people who are good at it.”
This pisses off Seungcheol more than anything, but you don’t let him intervene as you keep speaking.
“On top of that you are constantly making changes in your schedule without informing me. You’re your assistant. Maybe have you ever considered the fact that your schedule was made so that your day is smooth sailing, and no two activities overlap!”
“Just because you refuse to go to a doctor and try and find a way to manage your stress does not mean you make the workplace hell for us.”
By the end of your rant, you were fuming and Seungcheol was stunned.
Clearing his throat, he says awkwardly, “I’m sorry you feel so, I will try and fix my schedule.”
Now, although this statement made you feel better, it also confused you, as you were fully prepared to have a full-blown fight with the man. Him backing down was never an option. But now that it has happened, you muttered a small, “I shall be going then”, to which your boss meekly nodded.
After you were outside, you ended up feeling better due to unloading all your anger on the man. It was refreshing. Now you just needed to see what changes tomorrow will bring for Seungcheol.
--
It had been two months since you had the argument with Seungcheol, more like your single woman shouting spree. But things have been better. He has tried to keep his need for new experiences down and this has made your life exponentially easier.
Did you now have time to eat. Absolutely not!
But the office was not a nightmare anymore.
If someone would have told you five months ago that this is what your future held for you, you would have straight up laughed at their face and told them to get themselves checked. But life has weird ways of throwing you in situations you don’t expect yourself to be in, and you have no other ways of getting out but learn to go with the flow.
You sometimes talk to Jun and Seokmin, and you have realized you got the hardest of all the jobs.
You asked Jeonghan about it once and his answer was, “because I can and its fun!”
So here you are sitting on the couch with Seokmin while enjoying your sandwich when you see Seungcheol come outside carrying a bag, Jeonghan trailing behind him sporting this devilish look on his face.
The big man walks towards you and hands you the bag. Opening it you notice a green scarf sitting at the bottom.
“Seungcheol’s first knitting creation, and he says thank you for forcing him to learn knitting. It helps him sleep now.” Jeonghan says while pointing at the bag even before the older man could open his mouth.
Seokmin tries to make himself as invisible as possible while looking extremely interested in the whole situation unfolding in front of him.
Seungcheol waves his hands at Jeonghan trying to hush him down and whines, “let me speak!”
“I made this cause you told me it would help me sleep! I didn’t think it could actually help me, but it looks like it did, so I’m extremely thankful for your suggestion.”
“Good job!” Jeonghan says, patting Seungcheol’s head like he was a child, making you laugh a bit.
“Thank you for listening to me, sir!”
“Oh, no, call him by his name, or else he will become weird with you again!” Jeonghan says, making you laugh again. Seungcheol pouts at both of you and storms back to his office, with Jeonghan at his tail making fun of him yet again.
After that, you kept the bag in your desk and went to bid your friend goodbye.
“He looked like he was confessing to his crush, you know”, Seokmin muses.
“Maybe he has a crush on you!” He exclaimed after pausing for a moment.
“I don’t, he is a weird person,” you had replied thoughtfully.
Realizing he has been chatting with you for a long time, Seokmin quickly rushes outside while loudly screaming a ‘goodbye’ for the whole building to hear.
When you came back to your desk, Jeonghan was waiting for you there. The man just looked at you with a smirk and said, “see you later y/n, and make sure to wear the scarf!”
Jeonghan is a weird person. You more often than not don’t listen to what he tells you to do. He forces you to do them anyways.
“Seriously, lady, do wear the scarf. Plus, it’s cold outside—you won’t get a heatstroke if you do so.”
With that he was outside of the office, too. Slowly work caught up with you and you forgot about the scarf altogether.
--
That evening, as you were finishing up at work and preparing to leave, you grabbed the scarf that had been gifted to you and wrapped it around your neck before stepping out of the office.
Unbeknownst to you, the man who had given you the scarf felt a rush of joy upon seeing you wear it. Concealing his flushed cheeks, he quietly followed you out and spontaneously invited you to join him for dinner, explaining that he had given Seokmin the night off and now was in extreme need of a dinner companion, as Seokmin would fill in that position on most nights. It was unusual for him to make such a request, but you were both hungry and couldn't resist the offer of a free meal, even if it was from someone as harmless as him.
"So, what do you think?" Seungcheol asked as the two of you sat at the ramen shop waiting for your orders.
"About what?" You replied, genuinely puzzled by his question.
"Didn't you read the letter?" He asked, his face turning even redder as he mentioned it.
"What letter?" You responded, glancing around until Seungcheol nodded towards the bag in which he gave you the scarf, looking inside you noticed an envelope that matched the interior perfectly sitting at the bottom.
"Oh! I can read it now," you exclaimed.
"Don't worry about it right now," he interjected as the waiter arrived with your bowls of ramen.
Despite his reluctance to discuss the letter further, your curiosity only grew stronger after he dropped you off at your doorstep. Once inside your home, you wasted no time in retrieving the letter from your bag. Its contents filled you with excitement like never before.
The following day at the office, you placed another letter on Seungcheol's desk before getting on with your usual tasks, eager to see his reaction.
--
"So, let me get this straight—you've been dating our boss for the past month?" Exclaimed Jun, eyes wide with disbelief.
"Why didn't you tell us sooner? How did this even happen?!" Chimed in Seokmin, equally stunned by the news.
As soon as you revealed your relationship with Seungcheol, you found yourself bombarded with a flurry of questions from your friends. It was amusing to witness their sheer astonishment, and yet, deep down, it felt incredibly rewarding to share this surprising news with them.
What started as a casual hangout quickly transformed into a lively interrogation session, with your friends firing off all sorts of curious inquiries. Most pressing among them was the question:
“How and when did all of this happen?!”
You couldn't blame them for their curiosity. It seemed like just yesterday that you had kidnapped Seungcheol off the street instead of his friend Mingyu, which resulted in Jeonghan gaining the perfect opportunity to bully you both half to death. And let's not forget the hell and back experience you were subjected to from Seungcheol himself, the man who had once resorted to extreme tactics to get you to quit as he was reminded of the oh so humiliating experience he went through every time he saw your face. But somehow, it all worked out in the end, and you couldn't be happier about how it turned out.
Near the end of your gathering, you couldn't resist the urge to pull out your phone and reveal the most treasured image in your gallery: a photograph capturing two pieces of paper resting on a desk. One paper bore a lengthy paragraph, while the other simply displayed a single, bold sentence:
"Take me out on a proper date first!"
The photo encapsulated perfectly how you both worked so well with each other. It was a sweet reminder of how unexpectedly love can bloom in the most unconventional of circumstances.
As your friends marveled at the photo, you couldn't help but reflect on how far you and Seungcheol had come in such a short time. Despite the initial hurdles and challenges you faced with the man, you were grateful for the bond you now shared—a relationship built on laughter, friendship, and, of course, a bit of unexpected romance.

The Kids Will Talk ~ *Jeon Wonwoo*
Tumblr media
Summary: Your sister has always told you: stay away from the mafia. And as the Big Boss herself, she can do that. But you can’t help yourself from falling in love with Wonwoo. And it just so happens, Wonwoo loves you too. He just doesn’t know who your sister is...
Pairing: Jeon Wonwoo X Fem!Reader
Genre: Fluffy Oneshot
Word Count: 2326
Warning: Swearing, annoying kids, overprotective sister
Mafia Masterlist
A/N: FINALLY! This monster of a series is over! Thank the Lord and every other deity out there!
Wonwoo is no stranger to secrets. His biggest one is the fact he is a part of the mafia, which he finds surprisingly easy to conceal. His students don’t care all that much about his time outside of the classroom, and when they do, he has plenty of other stories he can tell them to satiate their curiosity.
However, he has another very big secret that he finds much harder to conceal.
Everyday, Wonwoo visits the library. He has two reasons for doing this. One: because he loves reading and can finish a decent-size book in only a couple days. Two: he’s head over heels in love with the librarian. That is the big secret he’s having such a hard time trying to conceal. Especially his students, who are far more perceptive than he gives them credit for.
As class was just getting out, Wonwoo gathered all of the necessary items he needed for his planning period. He was going to work on grading some essays in the library. Or he might look through some of the books to see what else he could read. Really, anything to see the librarian again.
Of course, one of his students paused him at his door. “Hey, Mr. Jeon? Can we talk about my grade?”
He tried to hide his wince. “Can we talk about it after school today, Jiheon?”
She was about to argue when she stopped herself. “Wait, are you on your way to the library? Are you going to see your girlfriend?”
This time he allowed a scowl to slip onto his face as he shouldered past her. “Goodbye, Jiheon. I’ll see you in class later today.”
However, Jiheon was nothing if not persistent. With a shit-eating grin on her face, she followed him. “You are, aren’t you? That’s so cute! You know, most of the student body ships you two. Oh! Can we get a picture of the two of you for the yearbook? We can write a whole section about your relationship! It’ll be perfect!”
“Don’t you have someone else you can bother with about yearbook stuff?” He questioned, trying to pick up the pace.
She shrugged. “I mean, I probably need to run the idea around Saerom, but it’s good to have the picture in case she approves it.”
“How about this: get the idea approved by all of the yearbook staff and then we can talk, okay?”
Nodding, she exclaimed, “I can do that! Mark my words, Mr. Jeon, you will be in the yearbook this year, one way or another.”
As she skipped off to find the rest of the yearbook staff, Wonwoo rolled his eyes and muttered under his breath, “Yeah right.”
It was then he realized he was right in front of the library.
Pushing aside the butterflies swarming in his stomach, he stepped inside and found you instantly, like it was fate.
As soon as the two of you made eye contact, you smiled and waved. He returned your wave, feeling his cheeks heat up. However he was here to work, not stare at you for forty-five minutes. So he made his way to one of the tables and set up everything he needed to work on before his next class.
There was one thing Wonwoo knew about high school student essays: they were either really insightful or really confusing. And the first essay he started reading was completely off-the-walls crazy. Someone didn’t do the assigned reading. This was going to be a long planning period.
“Having fun?”
Wonwoo practically jumped in his seat. You were standing over him, smiling so bright and warm. He felt his heart stop for a good minute before he finally spoke to you.
“Well, you know how high schoolers are with essays.”
You laughed and he couldn’t help but laugh with you. Your laughter has always been contagious to him. “Yeah. I remember struggling with essays back when I was in high school. You’re better than me at least, subjecting yourself to that. I just have to deal with overdue books and computer problems.”
“I feel like that would be worse.” He grimaced.
Again, you laughed and shrugged. “I suppose. I think we can both agree that this profession is a hard one.”
He nodded. “I can agree with that.”
“Well, if you need anything, you know where to find me.” You winked before turning to leave. You then stopped and exclaimed, “Oh! I almost forgot! That book you wanted me to hold for you came back. I just need to check to make sure there’s no damage and I’ll check it out for you. It’ll be on your desk before the end of the day.”
“Thank you, Y/n.” He nodded. “I really appreciate it.”
“Of course. You’re very welcome.”
And with that, you scurried off. He couldn’t help but watch you leave before remembering why he was there. With a sigh and bright red cheeks, he went back to reading and grading essays.
You, on the other hand, were trying to hide behind the library desk as you fanned your face. Was it always so hot in here or was it just Wonwoo? You shook your head. No! You shouldn’t be thinking that! Of course it was because Wonwoo was here! You’ve had the biggest crush on him ever since he started teaching!
Normally, you would act on your feelings and tell him right away. However, you were forbidden from doing so. See, your big sister is the Big Boss of the mafia here in town. And her number one rule was to stay away from her business. You understood where she was coming from. It was for your protection and you were okay with staying away from any blood and gore she saw on a daily basis.
But it wasn’t fair when she recruited such hotties like Wonwoo!
With a small groan, you buried your face in your arms. What you wouldn’t give to be able to confess to him. Maybe he’d feel the same way and you two would date, fall in love, get married, live a long, happy, fulfilled life together, and be buried side-by-side. That would be perfect, in your opinion. But no. You had to stay away.
As if she was reading your mind, your phone started ringing, with the ID saying it was your sister. Letting out a long, slow breath, you answered.
“Hello?”
“Hey! How’s my favorite little sister?”
You rolled your eyes. “I’m your only little sister. And I’m fine.”
“You don’t sound fine.”
“Curse you and your perceptiveness.” You sighed. “It’s nothing.”
She tsked. “No, no, no. You don’t get to use that excuse on me. Tell me what’s up.”
“You’re just going to get mad at me.” You muttered.
There was a stretch of silence before you heard her sigh. “It’s Wonwoo, isn't it?”
“Hey, it’s not my fault you made him off-limits!”
“It’s for your protection!” She shot back. “I do a lot of bad, bad, bad things. I don’t want you also getting tangled up in it. What would our family say? What would your friends say? I know it’s not fair and I understand you can’t change your feelings for him, but could you try liking someone else?”
You sighed this time. “You know I can’t. I’ve tried. I’ve gone on so many dates and no guy has ever made me feel the same way as Wonwoo. I don’t know. Maybe I’m just destined to be alone.”
“Hey, don’t say that. We’ll figure it out.” She tried to reassure you, which didn’t work as well as she may have thought. “Look, I can talk to him tonight. See if he wants out. If he does, you’re more than welcome to pursue him. Will that help?”
Your shoulders shrugged. “I don’t know. Maybe.”
“I’ll try it anyway.” She replied. “Hey, don’t worry about it. We’ll figure this out. I promise. We are sisters after all and we can do anything.”
“Right. I’ll talk to you later. Bye.”
“Bye.”
You sighed once again as you ended the call. She just didn’t get it. Her boyfriend was in the mafia with her, so she didn’t have to worry about his protection. And your sister always mothered you more than your own mother did. Sure she worried a lot, but you were an adult now, dammit. You could make your own choices and decisions.
An idea sparked inside you. Yeah, you could make your own choices now. And you were going to, today, right after school.
As the school day came to a close, Wonwoo sighed and leaned back in his desk chair. Another day, another dollar. However that dollar came from doing mental gymnastics with his students who were hellbent on making his life dramatic. If it wasn’t excuses about late work, it was dumb questions that only teenagers would dream of asking. If it wasn’t that, it was about his crush on you, which he was never prepared to answer.
Wonwoo glanced over at the bag with the book you brought while he was out on his other planning period. He wished he was there to see you. He would have thanked you and gotten to talk to you again. He had been so busy lately, he hadn’t had a good chance to properly talk to you in a long time. But it wasn’t for a lack of trying. Any chance he could, he tried to seek you out. Though more often than not, it didn’t work out.
With another sigh, he gathered his things for his trip back to the mansion. He’d have work to do when he got there. It was best not to keep the Boss waiting. And besides, he’d probably forget about his feelings for you for a little while as he worked. That would be for the best, he thought.
As he headed to his motorcycle, Wonwoo was surprised to find you standing there, fiddling with your bag. What were you still doing here? Didn’t you have to get home?
He called out to you. “Hey. What are you doing here? What’s wrong?”
You shook your head. “Nothing’s wrong. I just wanted to talk to you.”
“Oh, okay.” He nodded.
“Wonwoo, I’ve been thinking.” You started, still trying to find the right words to express what you wanted to say. “We’ve known each other for quite awhile and I’d say we’re pretty good friends are we not?”
He nodded again. “Yes, I’d say so.”
“But I was thinking. Maybe, maybe the students are right. Maybe we are more than friends and we just don’t know it yet.” You averted your eye contact after saying that and your hands twitched with anxiety.
Wonwoo felt himself blush at your words. More than friends? Did you really think that? Or was the peer pressure from the kids getting to you? He wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. He was starting to get annoyed by their constant nagging for him to ask you out already. But he didn’t like the idea that they may be bothering you. Perhaps he really did care for you more than he originally anticipated.
“Do you,” He started, feeling rather shy himself. “Do you, um, do you think we should be more than friends?”
Instantly, a torrent of words slipped past your lips. “Yes! I mean yes, I think we should. I really do care an awful lot about you Wonwoo and I see you in a different light than what friends should. What I mean is, well, to put it in juvenile terms, I like-like you. I think you’re an excellent teacher, a wonderful listener, and a compassionate person. I also think you’re very strong both mentally and physically. I would very much like to be more than friends with you, if you feel the same way.”
Wonwoo’s blush only darkened. He couldn’t believe his own words. After crushing on you for so long, it was so weird hearing you actually confess. And why was he frozen? Why wasn’t he saying anything? Why wasn’t he telling you exactly how he felt?
Shaking himself, he answered. “I think we should be more than friends too. I like-like you as well, Y/n. I really, really, really do.”
You let out a sigh and he couldn’t help but chuckle. “Well, that’s good to hear. However, there’s just one more problem we have to face.”
“And that is?”
“My sister is your boss.”
Wonwoo’s jaw dropped to the floor.
“What?”
You let out an embarrassed giggle. “Yeah, so I’ve known you’ve been in the mafia ever since you joined. I’ve, uh, known about you longer than you’ve known about me. I guess that’s kind of weird, huh?”
He let out a small huff, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “Yeah, a little. But I don't mind all that much.”
“Well, the real issue is my sister doesn’t want me to date any of her crew. So our relationship is forbidden in her eyes.” You explained. “I talked to her today and she said she was willing to give you an out. But if you don’t want to leave your friends, we can work around this. It’ll be okay. I know we can figure something out.”
“A forbidden romance?” He mumbled and his smile grew. “I kind of like the sound of that. It sounds like something right out of a novel.”
You laughed. “I suppose so. But are you sure you’re okay with that?”
He nodded and put an arm around your shoulder to pull you in close. Resting his head on top of yours, he said. “Don’t worry about it too much. If she finds out, we’ll figure it out from there. For now, I’m just glad I can finally call you mine.”
“And I can call you mine.” You sighed. “And now I have a date for my sister’s wedding.”
“Wait. She proposed to Seungcheol already?!”

[A/n: Little different then how I usually write- but the china line has done numbers on my brain. But please enjoy anyways. Oh, and a special thanks to @jinkoh for pulling me further down the rabbit hole. Also, it's prompt 8 with the8 hehe~]
------
As a mafia man, he can get anything he wants, any time he wants it. So, if you wanted the moon, he’d throw a lasso around it and pull it in for you. And when you mentioned in passing that you really enjoyed these frosted flowers that you saw all over your socials. He knew what he had to do. And when he asked you about them, you’d shrug and go, ‘It’s no big deal, they’re probably just fake anyway.’ He’d have his men figure it out.
When he started dating you, he knew you were the one with how you calmed him. You quailed his angry heart, the heart that only ever wanted revenge and to watch the world burn for his childhood. But you, you were like a summer breeze that overtook his mind. You made him realize what it felt like to cool down, and finally start healing that part of himself. And when he had to lend you the reins, he saw just how perfect you were for him.
It was six months into your relationship when he had gotten sick. And he had asked you to oversee his operations. He never told you, but he watched the cameras through his phone to make sure you were safe. Although he knew you were good with a gun and a knife now, he still worried. He smiled as he watched you. At first, his lackeys were iffy. You had just started being his partner, not their boss. So, they were rolling their eyes and the second they stopped talking over you. You turned ruthless, and if he felt better, he’d be doing more than just watching you. And they instantly fell into line, following your every instruction even after he got better. While he has found you attractive from the moment you walked into his life. He fell even harder in love with you the second he saw your capabilities on the field. You were stronger and sweeter than he could have ever imagined. So, whatever you wanted, even if it was small, like a side-off request. He’d get it for you.
While he was still a ruthless and fast mafia boss, he still took time to be quiet and slow with you. He sees your woes as his own and cares for them kindly. When you’ve had a bad day, he’ll make sure his men take care of it while he takes care of you. You became his number-one priority faster than he could speak. For the fastest-working man in the business and the quickest on his feet, you’d leave him stunned and speechless. Unable to breathe just because you said, ‘Hi’. He prays that you never walk in when he’s interrogating someone, or he’d be dumbstruck and forget his own name.
And while it wasn’t a request, and it was just something you saw, he asked everyone around his estate. Wondering if they knew any florists who could get him real frosted flowers. Someone who would ensure the flowers live long and prosper even with the frost on them. It took a week before he found the man who could make it happen. Wonwoo, while he was associated with another mafia, Minghao knew he was the only one who could make his lover's dreams come true. So, he did what any sensible man would do, and informed him that he was only there for flowers not for business. And Wonwoo agreed to curate them, even though their relations were tense at the time. After all, that’s why he opened his shop after his mafia had soared to rival Minghao’s. And after a few visits at the floral shop, he got not one but three versions of the same flower.
One of the gifts was tea he'd make for you after showing you everything he got you. He barked orders to the others as he headed to the base, your guy's home, “You better make sure none of those pesky rats are following us. I know they okayed my flowers, but they better stay the hell away.” Chan immediately went, “Yes, sir, right away, sir.” He stayed behind in his souped-up Lincoln, waiting and checking his mirrors. All was clear as Minghao drove safely to the base. No one dared to follow him except his men as he sped home. When he arrived home, after opening various locks, he walked to his part of the house, his door opening with an eyeball scan. While the others accompanying him, except Chan, went to their parts of the estate. He walked through the door, kicked off his shoes, and ensured you weren’t around before heading to the kitchen, where he found you.
He pouted but quickly shook it off and set the planter and bags aside before coming around the island. You were on alert the second he said, “Baby?” You turned around fast, pointing a buttered knife at him. He moved back, and you quickly apologized, “Sorry, I didn’t hear you come in.” He laughs, “It’s okay.” You put it down and said, “You’re home sooner than I expected. Why’s that?” He holds back his smile before moving his hand out from behind his back and showing you a bouquet of frosted camellias. You blink at him, trying not to cry, and yet you still do as you accept them from his hands. “How did you get these?” He smiles, “I pulled a few strings, but it was easy.” You squint, “Nothing bad, right?” He shakes his head immediately, and you happily hug the bouquet to your chest before moving it into one hand and opening your arms for him.
He happily accepts your affections and wraps his arms around you tightly, “You didn’t have to.” You whisper into his chest, and he laughs, “I wanted to.” You mumble, and he asks you to repeat it. And you ask, “But why?” And he sighs softly, “You want the moon? Just say the word, and I’ll throw a lasso around it.” You move your head up to look him in the eyes, “Hao…” He smiles, “What?” You shake your head and lift your hand to run your fingers through his long hair, “I love you, you softie.” He waits for you to pause your movements before kissing your forehead, “I love you too, baby.” You pull away, untangling your fingers from his hair. When you sniff the flowers, you get a good look at them and realize they’re camellias. “Don’t these mean love, affection, beauty, and refinement?” He hums and says, “Excellence and faithfulness, too.” You look him in the eyes, “Do you mean every word?” He smiles, looking deeply into your eyes, “Every word.”
It’s always been a silly worry implanted into your head that someone as powerful as him would want loads of lovers. But he only wants you, that he’ll always stay faithful to you. “Positive?” You ask one more time just in case, and he smiles. He grabs your hand and raises it to his lips, “I promise to always remain faithful to you and only you.” Before kissing your hand and continuing, “I vowed it the second I laid eyes on you. You’re the only one for me.” You try not to let your tears fall as he goes, “I got two other things for you.” You whine, “Hao!” And he giggles, “I know. But I want to give you everything I can.” You shake your head at him, and he pulls away, walking around the island. And picks up and puts a large pot on the counter, “There are the same flowers, not frosted, but grown throughout gentle winter conditions.” You nod, and he smiles as you look at them more thoroughly. After you look over the beautiful blooms, he puts the tea box on the counter, “I thought we could have a tea ceremony with it.” You smile, “I’d love to.”
While he begins prepping for the ceremony, you finish buttering your bread and bring the two slices over. You join him on the ground, just by your balcony door. He pours out the first cup before pouring you a glass and him one. You drink it and take in the warmth and tranquility. Maybe it was the calm before the storm. Maybe tomorrow will be different. But what you both have is right and right now. And that's all you two needed.
He has you both meditate, and all you can think as you close your eyes is that not every day you have is promised with him. You sigh. Is tomorrow ever really promised to anyone? No. And while he may have a dangerous living. As long as he was precautious, as he always is, he'd be okay. And he'd always return to your arms. And if the beautiful queens of winter, the camellia flowers, can survive the winter. So could the two of you. When you finally open your eyes, you see him contentedly staring at you, “What?”  He grins, “You look so beautiful.”  “Hao!”  He giggles, “I love catching you off guard.” “Whatever you say, my handsome prince.”  He blushes at that, and you can't help but smirk. It would be okay. Because if one of you needed anything or wanted something. Whether it was from the smallest of things to the largest of problems, you'd have each other's back.

Hidden Secrets
Hoshi x Y/N
Warnings; mentions of killing, suggestive?? lmk if i missed any..
Description: Hoshi, a secret assassin, who has a secret crush on his roommate y/n,who is oblivious to his viscous,cold hearted acts behind his cute,bubbly facade.However, people would think she’s the one being fooled but roles are reversed…keep reading to find out!
Word count: 400 maybe idk
info: this is my first fic so don’t expect it to be good lol English is not my first language so bare with me,send me asks and recommendations!
Hoshi was not your average guy. His charm was undeniable, his smile was infectious, and his seemingly innocent nature made him an innocent favourite among his peers.However behind that bubble exterior, was a secret, deadly life.
Y/n was an enigma to Hoshi.She was kind-hearted, funny, and oblivious to his double life. Or so he thought unbeknownst to him, y/n was hiding secrets of her own.
Their daily life was a strange dance of normality and secrecy. Hoshi would leave late at night, his eyes losing their warm twinkle and replaced with a cold, steely resolve.He would return before dawn,the softness back in his eyes ,and y/n would be none the wiser. it was a pattern, a routine he had perfected over time. But what y/n did not know was that Hoshi was just not stepping out for a late-night job, he was carrying out missions as an assassin, a cold-blooded killer.
He meticulously planned each mission with his team, leaving no room for error.His targets never saw him coming and he left no trace behind. But behind his murderous deeds, Hoshi held a secret, he was in love with y/n. He loved her laughter, her kindness and the way her eyes sparked as she spoke about her dreams, He loved her but he knew he could never tell her the truth.
Just like Hoshi, y/n was also an assassin and her next target was none other than Hoshi himself.The irony of the situation was not lost on her.Overtime, y/n found her self growing attached to Hoshi. The lines between her professional life and personal feelings started to blur.Hoshi, too was struggling with his feelings for her, he was an assassin, he wasn’t supposed to feel love or affection. But y/n was different. Their lives were always hit and miss, there were times where they almost discovered each others secrets, but somehow they always managed to maintain their facades.
Until one day , y/n received the confirmation of her mission.The time has come, despite her professionalism, y/n found herself hesitating. She questioned whether she could really go through with it, she had fallen for her target.
On the other hand, hoshi was unaware of the storm brewing. He continued his life as usual, all the while hiding his feelings for y/n. The day of the mission came, Y/n was ready to carry out her task but as she looked at Hoshi her resolve started to waver. In the end she couldn’t do it, she couldn’t kill the man who she loved.”hosh I want to tell you something,”she spoke calmly “go on y/n,” he answered her while chopping up some vegetables for dinner. “I like you..wait no i love you soonyoung.”y/n’s confidence wavered, she looked down.Hoshi on the other hand was stunned, smirking he walked up to her and tilted her head to him“what makes you think I don’t like you back baby?” He whispered inching closer to her face.”wait I have something to confess,” he looked at her, softening his gaze.” I’m an assassin,” Hoshi laughed at her face and hugged her “baby don’t worry me too!” He giggled, confusion arose on her face.”Y/n you know I knew you had the mission to kill me?” Hoshi said to her, Y/n tightened her hold on hoshi “how?” She whined, “you’re not so slick with it my love” he singsonged.
At the dinner table, they ate their dinner reminiscing their assassin life, “well what now?” Y/n asked “well” hoshi replied. All of a sudden hoshi picked y/n up and carried her, she yelped out of fear “HOSHI PUT ME DOWN RIGHT NOW!” She smacked his back knowing that wouldn’t stop him, hoshi softly throws y/n on the bed “I’ll eat you” he looked at her with his gaze darkening.
The end, ahhh this is my first fic lol please educate me if i did things wrong! hope you liked it!!

" The information about the secret mission got leaked."
Jihoon's voice echoed in the room.
" That means , we have to withdraw this mission. " He continued.
When Jihoon said he wanted to say something important, the members didn't expect this. They couldn't believe their ears. Who could if someone told them that information about a billion worth secret mission was leaked and it is no longer going to be implemented ? No one in the room , no one in the 13 members would betray. It was someone else . And anyone in their right senses would know this wouldn't just stop with a spread of info. If that someone knows about a extremely confidential mission, they would easily know about other minor but useful things about them.
" Who could it be ? ", Seokmin spoke first, breaking the tension.
" I think this has to do something with ICS or the Agent Moon." , Vernon said.
All the eyes in the room fell on him.
Of course, ICS( Investigation centre of South korea ) had to be mentioned. We can't forget the nasty little agent they have- Agent Moon. The only Agent who can disrupt things in the underground world. The number of missions that Agent messed is uncountable. Thank the lord, all of them weren't as important. But this one. This would get them billions of money. That was the reason it was kept a secret in the first place, not even a single fly outside of these 13 people knew about this mission, and yet it was known to the law authorities.
If Jihoon didn't find out, all of them would've been caught by the police the next day, the grand day when the mission was supposed to be executed.
" We planned this for 2 years.", Jeonghan said through his teeth.
" Forget about the plan. Right now, the mission is not the problem." , Seungcheol said with a sharp voice. It was true. All people suddenly forgot about the mission. Their mind occupied with only a single thing - who had the guts to mess with the underground business? Like Vernon said, Agent Moon made the most sense. They didn't even see Agent moon, not even aware of the gender identity. Though they act like they don't care about Agent Moon, Everyone had a unsaid grudge towards them. No matter what, it's obvious that the leader wouldn't let this slide easily.
Mingyu tapped the table in front of him slightly , drawing the attention to him.
" We need to leave this place." , He said , very well knowing that there are chances of authorities knowing about this place. " We'll discuss things further in the godown. That's the best option" , he said calmly, his tone complete contrast to his burning eyes.
--
The godown was definitely better. Only few people know about it's location and was easier for them to figure out the situation. The meeting went almost all day. Everyone gave their suggestions and currently guessing how else ICS could get them.
" Now that they know, there are chances for them to go for our weakness." , said Seungkwan. Everyone knew what he meant, including the leader. The only weakness they ever have is their families, now that the family is not in the picture anymore, it's definitely Y/n.
Mingyu's face dropped down to a emotionless stare. He would kill anyone who laid their fingers on her, it was a sure thing.
His hands tensed up as he pulled out his phone to call Y/ n. He must keep her safe.
" She's not answering. " , He said quietly. She must be asleep, he thought. He couldn't shrug it away that easily as he started calling all the bodyguards around the house. He didn't get response from any of them.
Shit.
Mingyu got up from the chair, hurriedly checking the time.
7: 34 P.M
The day passed like a second and he totally forgot he left Y/n in the house. No response from Y/n or the body gaurds called for an emergency. He looked at the members one last time before rushing out, some security following him along the way.
The drive to the house was fast. He could care the least about getting into an accident or hitting other vehicles. His current worry was Y/n.
On reaching the house, his figure was greeted by unconscious guards outside. " Fucking useless. " , He whispered before barging into the house. " Y/n ", he called out, hoping for her to respond. He called out a couple more times but he was only left with nothing.
He wasn't sure what he was even expecting after seeing the knocked out guards. It obviously meant something he wouldn't want to know happened.
He closed his eyes.
Is she already taken by ICS ? Is she feeling scared? Is she thinking of him, wondering if he would save her like a hero in the books? What would they do to her?
His thoughts were interrupted by a feeling of cold metal on the back of his head.
His eyes flew open.
His muscles tightened after realising what it was.
It was a gun.
He looked over his shoulder, trying to catch a glance of the intruder. All he could see was the hand that wasn't holding the gun. The hand which was wearing a ring. The same ring on Mingyu's ring finger. The couple rings he bought together with Y/n about a month ago.
No fucking way. It couldn't be.
Gunshots were heard. The noises were muffled in his head as he tried to process the situation. He closed his eyes, hoping that it was a dream and when he opens his eyes , he hoped he would be in bed, Y/n beside him. Mingyu was hit with the harsh reality when he felt her nudge him with the gun.
The woman he loved was holding a gun against him and would probably blow off his head anytime soon.
Before he could realise, police entered the scene.
Mingyu fell on his knees, his hands raised in the air. He shifted his gaze downwards and left a unbelievable scoff.
Fighting back now would be a dumb decision.
" Thank you for your help, Agent Moon. ", The head officer said as he made his way towards Mingyu. The cuffs were locked on his arms as he finally looked at her face.
It was indeed Y/n.
--
The information of the leader getting arrested was fast to spread.It reached Wonwoo, the head of security team, in few minutes.
" Everyone", Wonwoo said. All heads turned to him, suprised by his unusual loud tone. " Mingyu." , He said. There was an unnecessary long pause. " Mingyu got arrested."
" How could that be possible?" , Jun said with a scoff, still not believing his words.
" Y/n is Agent Moon. She got him.", Wonwoo said shortly .
Wonderful, things got more complicated.
Seungcheol, who was stalking the length of the room stopped abruptly. " She knows about the godown, they could be here anytime soon. " , He voiced. " 12 of us can't runaway without getting noticed , some of us should surrender and put our trust on the remaining to save us." , He continued.
" Chan and Hansol are needed for hacking the security system of ICS. " , Jisoo said. " Wonwoo for some power and execution, Minghao and Jeonghan for the planning. These can stay", Jihoon spoke fast as he got up. " You should stay as well ,Jihoon.", Seokmin suggested. Everyone nodded thier heads, quickly understanding the plan.
Any few of the team could stay , they would still come up with an idea to save them, but Seokmin, Soonyoung, Seungcheol, Seungkwan, Jisoo and Junhui are the assasins, better fit to get arrested. They knew the tricks to survive better.
In a matter of a second, The 6 selected ones escaped through the back door while the others stayed in the room, waiting for the worst to happen.
The godown was under the control of police few minutes later. Officers entered the large place, the things messily spread down and 6 of the seventeen members stiff in their positions.
" Arrested " , one of the men said through a microphone.
--
Mingyu's back was against the wall and his knees were folded up his chest by the time the members were bought to the prison. The room was dark, the only object being the table in the centre.
It was the Black room prison.
Every criminal's nightmare.
Usually a single person was kept in a single room, the door locked and all they could do was lay in the dark. Neither could move or talk. Death was a better option.
They were greeted by a Man who came into the room with some guards behind him. The door opening let some light into the room. They could see that guy in the dim light. His hair was dyed blonde and he looked too young and innocent to be a Agent. There was a chair bought and the guy sat in it as his hands rested on his sides. " Hello, my dear criminals! ", He said enthusiastically, pissing off the guys.
" Agent Moon got you good, didn't she?", He said with the smug smile on his face. " Oh" , he said as if he realised something. " I didn't introduce myself.", He straightened his back.
" I'm Yangyang, You might know me as Agent Siren.", He ended it with a sigh.
Agent siren, the members recalled. He was involved in their business long ago, almost 3 years in the past. It had been a long time since they heard of him. Nonetheless,it was hard to forgot him.
The room was greeted with another familiar person. It took them time to realise it was Y/n. She wasn't the Y/n they knew. She wasn't wearing her signature smile which was comforting. They saw the Agent moon in her. Y/n looked at Yangyang as he got up and signalled her to sit. " Long time no see, L/n Y/n ", Yangyang greeted her as she threw him a glare before sitting on the chair.
" 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7" , she counted the people slowly. " Where are the other 6 of your buddies? ", She questioned.
Her walk, her voice, her posture, everything screamed confidence. It was so unlike Y/n they saw before.
Y/n squinted her eyes as she recieved no answer. " Open your damn mouths." , She demanded.
" What's the use? We aren't going to give you any useful answer. ", Junhui said.
Y/n suddenly smiled. " I like the answer.", She said before getting up. "Don't worry, I'll make sure to reunite all the 13 of you." , She left the room as Yangyang followed her, waving them a goodbye.
" you did great, honey. " ,Yangyang said after they made their way out. She looked at him with disgust. " Ew, don't call me that."
Yangyang and her practically grew up together. They were orphans when ICS adopted them to train them at a very young age.
They were inseparable.
Unfortunately, they had to spend 2 years away from each other due to the mission. She wasn't allowed to contact him or any other person from the ICS during the mission. So naturally, she was quite happy to finally meet him.
They reached the head of ICS after few hours.
" Finally after 20 years. " , Their boss said with a wave of relief spreading in him. " I thought this was impossible Y/n , you proved me wrong. I'm so glad you did. " , He said as he grinned widely. Y/n smiled slightly before saying, " My pleasure, sir. "
Both of them exited the room shortly after. " I still can't believe you accomplished something so big. " , Yangyang said proudly. " Everything I do is for Agent sky, Yang. " , She replied him calmly.
Yangyang knew how much she admired Agent sky. Agent sky was known for doing the missions which were considered too risky and impossible. He was a great man. He still remembered how devasted Y/n was when the news of Agent sky's death came. It happened when they were still young, training to be Agents. After his death, both of them promised each other that they would work harder to help the country for him.
His thoughts faded as he saw her fastening her pace, going way ahead of him. " Wait for me, Y/n. "
--
Mingyu stared into nothing, his eyes moist and his head throbbing . All the other members were spread into different rooms. He was now all alone.
It took one day for the empire their fathers built to collapse, just because he trusted a girl. His head flew back, resting on the wall. He couldn't help but go back to the time when he met her, when it all started, to the beginning of the story.
