Seungcheol walked into the apartment, tired from a long day's work. As he entered the living room, he noticed the familiar sight of you buried in your books, your face obscured by the pages. Concern tugged at his heartstrings as he observed the weariness etched on your features, the faint dark circles under your eyes telling a silent tale of your relentless study sessions.
"Baby," he called softly, approaching you with cautious steps. "You should take some rest. You've been at it all day."
You glanced up briefly, offering him a tired smile before returning your attention to the book in front of you. "I will, Seungcheol. Just a little more to go through."
Seungcheol sighed, taking a seat beside you on the bed. "You've been saying that for days now. I'm worried about you, sweetheart. You need to take care of yourself too."
Your brows furrowed slightly in concentration as you flipped another page, your mind fully consumed by the wealth of knowledge before you. "I know, Seungcheol. But I have exams coming up, and I need to be prepared."
He reached out, gently placing a hand on yours to stop your relentless flipping of pages. "I understand that, but pushing yourself too hard isn't healthy. You need to find a balance."
You met his concerned gaze, feeling a pang of guilt tug at your heart. "I'll rest after I finish this chapter, I promise."
Seungcheol sighed once more, realizing that his words were falling on deaf ears, your mind too deeply immersed in your studies to truly register his concerns. With a heavy heart, he leaned back against the pillows, silently watching as you continued to pour over your books, the weight of exhaustion evident in every line of your posture. He knew he couldn't force you to stop, but he hoped that eventually, you would realize the importance of taking care of yourself, even amidst the chaos of exams and deadlines.
s the days went by and Seungcheol noticed you becoming increasingly consumed by your studies, he took it upon himself to ensure you were taking care of your physical health as well. Despite your insistence on studying continuously, he made it a point to interrupt your sessions with nutritious snacks and meals.
He would gently tap you on the shoulder, interrupting your concentration momentarily as he placed a plate of fresh fruit or a homemade sandwich beside your books. "I brought you some snacks, sweetheart," he would say softly, a hint of concern in his voice.
You would offer him a grateful smile, pausing your reading momentarily to indulge in the nourishment he provided. Though your mind was still preoccupied with your studies, you couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and appreciation for his thoughtfulness.
At dinner time, Seungcheol would coax you away from your desk, gently reminding you of the importance of taking a break and nourishing your body. He would prepare wholesome meals, ensuring that you ate enough to sustain your energy levels through the long hours of studying ahead.
As Seungcheol pulled up to the college campus, he turned to you with a reassuring smile. "You've got this, babe," he said, his voice filled with encouragement. "Just remember everything you've studied, and trust in yourself. I believe in you."
You nodded, feeling a surge of determination as you gripped his hand tightly. "Thank you, Seungcheol," you replied, your voice filled with gratitude. "I'll do my best."
With one last reassuring squeeze of your hand, Seungcheol watched as you stepped out of the car and made your way towards the college building. As you disappeared from view, he couldn't help but feel a swell of pride for the strength and resilience you displayed, even in the face of daunting challenges.
Once you were inside the campus, your phone began to buzz incessantly with messages from Seungcheol, each one filled with words of encouragement and love.
"Hey babe, you've got this! I believe in you!"
"Just a reminder that you're amazing and capable of anything, including acing this exam. I'm cheering for you all the way!"
"You're gonna ace that exam, my love! Make me proud!"
With each message that popped up on your screen, you felt a surge of confidence and determination. Seungcheol's unwavering support served as a constant source of motivation, driving you to give it your all during the exam.
You settle into your seat, the words of Seungcheol echoing in your mind like a comforting melody. With a determined click of your pen, you begin to write, each stroke of ink on paper fueled by his unwavering belief in you. As you tackle the exam questions with a newfound sense of confidence, memories of Seungcheol flash before your eyes, reminding you that you are capable of overcoming any challenge that comes your way.
Hours pass in a blur of concentration and determination, until finally, you complete the exam and hand it to your professor. It's almost ironic how quickly he corrects your paper, mere minutes compared to the weeks of intense study that preceded this moment. But as you sit in your seat once again, waiting for the final grade, you can't help but feel a sense of pride knowing that you gave it your all, guided by the unwavering support of Seungcheol.
Heart pounding in your chest, you rise from your seat as your teacher calls your name to receive your exam. With trembling hands, you accept the paper, barely able to contain the anticipation bubbling within you. As your eyes scan the page, your breath catches in your throat at the sight of the A+ adorned with a red circle, a silent testament to your hard work and dedication.
"Thank you," you manage to whisper to your teacher, a grateful smile gracing your lips as you swiftly exit the classroom. Once outside, you find a secluded spot and press your knuckles against your mouth to stifle a scream of joy, tears of relief and happiness pricking at the corners of your eyes.
With trembling fingers, you dial Seungcheol's number, the night's breeze swirling around you as you wait anxiously for him to pick up. Finally, his voice fills your ears, sweet and familiar, as he greets you with a warmth that washes over you like a comforting embrace.
"Hey, how did it go?" he asks eagerly, his excitement palpable even through the phone.
You take a deep breath, the words tumbling out in a rush as you share the news. "I got an A+, Seungcheol! I did it!"
On the other end of the line, you can practically hear Seungcheol's jubilant celebration, his joyous jumps echoing through the receiver. "That's amazing, sweetheart! I knew you could do it!"
He pauses for a moment before continuing, his voice filled with determination. "Don't move, okay? I'm coming to pick you up right now. We're going to celebrate at your favorite restaurant."
In a matter of minutes, Seungcheol's car pulls up in front of the college, and you can't help but feel a rush of excitement as you spot him stepping out of the driver's seat. His face lights up with a beaming smile as he rushes towards you, his arms outstretched for a big hug.
You meet him halfway, throwing yourself into his embrace as he lifts you off the ground in a tight squeeze. The warmth of his hug envelops you, filling you with a sense of comfort and joy as you revel in the moment.
"Congratulations, my love," he murmurs into your ear, his voice filled with pride and admiration. "I'm so proud of you."
As he sets you back down, he takes your hand and leads you towards the car, opening the door for you with a flourish. "Let's go celebrate," he says, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "But first, you need to eat well. You've earned it."
With a grateful smile, you climb into the car beside him.
After a celebratory dinner at your favorite restaurant with Seungcheol, you return home feeling content and relaxed. The warmth of the hot water soothes your tired muscles as you sink into the bath, letting the steam envelop you in a cocoon of relaxation. With each passing minute, the stress of the day melts away, leaving you feeling lighter and more at ease.
Once you've finished your bath, you towel off and before climbing into bed beside Seungcheo, and you can't help but smile as you watch him play on his phone. But when he senses your presence, he quickly tosses the device aside and turns his attention to you, his lips finding their way to your face in a trail of soft kisses.
You giggle at his affectionate display, enjoying the gentle caress of his lips against your skin as he peppers kisses down your face, tracing a path along your jawline and down to your neck. His touch sends shivers down your spine, and you can't help but laugh at the ticklish sensation.
But as his kisses linger on your neck, you feel a sudden rush of sensitivity, a soft moan escaping your lips involuntarily. Seungcheol's eyes light up at the sound, a mischievous glint dancing in his gaze.
He chuckles softly, his lips trailing lower along your neck, leaving a trail of feather-light kisses in their wake. "Since you've been so amazing today," he murmurs against your skin, "I think it's only fair that I give you a reward."
Your breath catches in your throat as you feel his touch ignite a fire within you, anticipation building with each passing second. "And what might that be?" you ask, your voice barely a whisper.
As he reaches your belly, he gently pushes up your jersey, granting him full access to your clothed pussy. Your body trembles with anticipation as his gaze locks with yours, his eyes filled with an intense hunger that sends a shiver of excitement coursing through you.
Without hesitation, Seungcheol lowers himself even further, his lips brushing against the fabric covering your clit. A soft moan escapes your lips as you feel the warmth of his breath against your most sensitive area.
With a teasing grin, Seungcheol leans in closer, his tongue flicking out to trace a slow stripe along your clothed clit. You flinch, moving your hips impatiently to feel his tongue.
As Seungcheol removes your panties and spreads your legs wide open, anticipation pulses through your veins, your body thrumming with desire. When his wet and hot tongue makes contact with your clit, you throw your head back, a moan escaping your lips.
"Mmm…" you moan, the sensation sending waves of pleasure coursing through you. You can feel the sensitivity of your clit heightened after days of intense studying, your body craving the release that only Seungcheol can provide.
Your fingers tangle in his hair, urging him on as his tongue flicks your clit with increasing speed. The pleasure builds and builds, each stroke of his tongue driving you closer to the edge.
"Ah! Oh god, Seungcheol," you cry out, the pleasure becoming almost unbearable. You can feel the tension coiling tighter and tighter within you, your body teetering on the brink of release.
As you gasp for breath, you plead with him, your voice dripping with desperation. "I'm gonna cum, Seungcheol. Please, please!"
With a primal growl, Seungcheol redoubles his efforts, sucking your pussy with an intensity that leaves you trembling, you could listen to the sound he made while he slurped your cunt. The sensation is overwhelming, pushing you past the point of no return as you finally cum in his tongue.
"Oh, Seungcheol," you pant, your thighs tightening around his head as you ride out the waves of your orgasm. "You're... you're amazing. So good... so fucking good."
As Seungcheol continues to lavish attention on your sensitive pussy, your thighs instinctively tighten around his head, riding the waves of your orgasm with abandon. Each flick of his tongue sends sparks of pleasure shooting through you, intensifying the sensations to dizzying heights.
But as the pleasure becomes almost too much to bear, your body convulses with oversensitivity, the overwhelming sensation bordering on pain. With a shaky breath, you finally manage to choke out a plea.
"Seungcheol, please... stop," you whimper, your voice laced with need and desperation.
Seungcheol pulls away reluctantly, his hands moving to grasp your boobs as he gazes down at you with a hungry glint in his eyes. You meet his gaze, your breath coming in ragged gasps as you struggle to regain your composure.
"God, you're so fucking beautiful," he murmurs, his voice low and husky with desire. "I could eat you out forever."
A blush creeps onto your cheeks at his words, but a surge of arousal floods through you at the praise. With a coy smile, you reach out to trace a finger along his jawline, the intimacy of the moment igniting a fire within you.
"You're amazing" you whisper, your voice husky with desire.
His eyes darken with desire at your words, and he leans in closer, his lips brushing against yours in a tender kiss. "I'll always make you feel good, baby" he murmurs against your lips. "You're mine, and I'll take care of you forever."
As your lips meld in a heated, passionate kiss, you feel Seungcheol's tongue eagerly seeking entrance, his lips sucking and teasing yours. With a soft whimper, your legs instinctively wrap around his waist, pulling him closer as desire courses through your veins.
Seungcheol breaks the kiss, his breath coming in ragged gasps as he gazes down at you with dark, lust-filled eyes. "What do you want, babygirl?" he murmurs, his voice husky with desire.
You whimper softly, your body pulsing with need as you meet his gaze with a hunger of your own. "I need you," you whisper, your voice trembling with desire. "I need you to fuck me, Seungcheol. I need you to make me yours." At this point, you were completely crazy for him, after all these days without his touch that you craved so much.
A hungry grin spreads across Seungcheol's lips as he leans in closer, his hands moving to grip your hips possessively. "Oh, baby," he growls, his voice dripping with desire. "I'm going to please you all night long. You're mine, and I'm going to make you feel so fucking good."
With a needy moan, you arch your back, pressing your body closer to his as you feel the heat of his arousal pressing against you. "Yes!" you whimper, your voice barely a whisper. "Please, Seungcheol."
Seungcheol's sweatpants fall to the floor, revealing his throbbing erection, wet and glistening with anticipation. Your breath catches in your throat as you watch him, your body trembling with need as you ache for him to fill you completely.
With a low groan, Seungcheol positions himself between your legs, his tip teasing your entrance, the anticipation sending sparks of pleasure coursing through your veins. Slowly, agonizingly slowly, he begins to enter you, his massive cock stretching you to your limits as you gasp at the sensation.
As he inches deeper inside you, Seungcheol's voice fills the air, his words dripping with pride and admiration. "I'm so proud of you, baby," he murmurs, his voice thick with emotion. "You've worked so hard, and you deserve to be rewarded."
His words send a surge of warmth flooding through you, your heart swelling with love and gratitude for this man who stands before you, ready to give you everything you desire. With each thrust, he praises your efforts, his words driving you wild with desire.
"I'm going to fuck you so good, baby," he growls, his voice filled with primal need. "I'm going to make you feel every inch of me, the way you deserve it."
With each thrust, Seungcheol's words of love and admiration fill the room, mingling with the sounds of your moans and the wet slaps of your bodies coming together.
"I love you," he murmurs, his voice thick with emotion, as he drives himself deeper into you.
"You worked so hard," he praises, his movements becoming more urgent with each passing moment, as if he's trying to convey his love and appreciation through every thrust.
"You're so beautiful," he whispers, his voice a soft caress against your skin, as he loses himself in the pleasure of being with you.
With every word, every declaration of love, Seungcheol's thrusts become more intense, more desperate, as if he's trying to pour all of his love and desire into you with each movement of his body.
"I love you!" he repeats, his voice a mantra of devotion as he continues to move inside you
As your cheeks flush with embarrassment, Seungcheol's gaze softens, his fingers gently caressing your hair with a tenderness that sends shivers down your spine. His cock continues to pound into your g-spot with precision, each thrust sending waves of pleasure crashing through your body, leaving you unable to do anything but moan and whimper in ecstasy.
"You like that, baby?" he coos, his voice low and husky with desire. "You like the way my cock feels inside you, hitting that sweet spot over and over again?"
You can only nod in response, your words lost in a sea of pleasure as Seungcheol's relentless thrusts drive you closer and closer to the edge of bliss.
"That's it," he murmurs, his breath hot against your skin as he continues to drive into you with unbridled passion. "Just let go, baby. Let me take care of you. I'll make you feel so good, I promise."
With each word, each caress, Seungcheol's cock pounds into you with an intensity that leaves you breathless, your body writhing beneath him as you surrender yourself completely to the pleasure he provides.
"Oh, fuck," Seungcheol groans, his voice strained with pleasure as he feels your pussy spasming around him, the clenching sensation making him stutter in his movements. "You feel so good, baby. So tight and wet around my cock."
As you roll your eyes back in ecstasy, lost in the pleasure of his thrusts, Seungcheol's words become more desperate, more urgent.
"God, you're driving me crazy," he gasps, his hips thrusting faster and harder, unable to resist the overwhelming sensations coursing through him. "I can't hold back anymore, baby. I'm gonna cum so hard for you."
"Please, Seungcheol," you whimper, your voice dripping with desperation as you circle your clit, trying to milk him for all he's worth. "Cum for me, baby. I need to feel you come inside me."
Seungcheol's eyes squeeze shut tight, a curse slipping past his lips as he feels your pussy clenching around him harder, the sensation driving him to the brink of ecstasy.
"Cumming," he gasps, his voice a ragged whisper as he empties himself inside you, his body trembling with the intensity of his release.
As Seungcheol's hot cum fills your cunt, you can't help but moan in ecstasy at the sensation of his cock pushing the cum deeper and deeper inside you. The overwhelming pleasure sends waves of ecstasy crashing over you, driving you to the brink of another orgasm.
"Fuck," you mumble, already overwhelmed by the intensity of the pleasure coursing through you. "Keep fucking your cum inside me, Seungcheol. I need it. I need all of you."
Seungcheol's moan is almost pained as he buries his face in your neck, his body trembling with desire at your words. "God, yes," he groans, his voice thick with need.
Seungcheol watches with satisfaction as he withdraws his cock from your pussy, his gaze lingering on the sight of his cum dripping from your wet and messy cunt. A sense of pride washes over him as he takes in the fucked-out expression on your face, knowing that he's given you the release you so desperately needed after days of exhaustion.
Your relaxed demeanor is like a reward to him, a testament to his ability to bring you pleasure and satisfaction even in the midst of your busiest and most stressful times. He can't help but feel a surge of pride knowing that he's been able to fuck every last bit of tension out of you, leaving you looking and feeling more relaxed than you have in days.
"I love you," you whisper, your voice filled with sincerity and adoration.
Seungcheol's eyes soften at your words, a tender smile spreading across his face as he reaches out to cup your cheek. "I love you too," he murmurs, his voice thick with emotion.

BACKBURNER // PART 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
DESCRIPTION: She had grown tired of being on his back burner, the person that he had kept warm until he gotten the girl he has had his eyes set on for years... And with a little help from her friend, maybe... just maybe she'll finally be the first choice. PAIRING: Seungcheol x Reader | Mingyu x Reader GENRE: Angst & Fluff
Tumblr media
"Her or me?"
She never thought they would have come to this – having to ask the man that has loved for the past year and half to make a choice.
She watched as his adam's apple bobbed up and down, nervously swallowing the lump in his throat.
He was silently pleading for her.
"Cheol. Her or me." She repeated, this time her voice firm.
"Baby," He began, reaching for her hand but she wasn't having it; pulling her arm back away from his reach. "Don't do this."
His lack of response was more than enough for her. She wanted to hear him say it; wanting a reason to keep fighting for whatever it was that they had.
The thing was. she didn't know if she even had the right to ask him to choose. It wasn't like they ever established or put a label on their relationship.
If it was even considered as one.
She knew she wasn't his friend. No.... friends don't kiss each other the way they did.
Friends don't go on dates. They don't call them when they're drunk to pick them up, claiming that they missed them and wanted to come home to their cuddles.
But they weren't lovers either.
Because two people who were considered lovers told each other that they loved each other. Lovers don't seek out for others attention and care because there was no need to.
They were in a gray area. They always had been – and y/n had grown tired of it.
Y/n grew tired of alway coming in second. Second to her. His best friend, Sunhee. The reason why he could never bring himself to establish their relationship.
Seungcheol had only been using y/n as a filler and she no longer wanted to be the person that kept the seat warm until the right girl came along. In this case, until Sunhee had given him the time of day.
He stood there in silence, unable to muster up any words.
"Fine, if you're not going to make the decision, I will." Y/n sucked in a deep breath, fighting back the tears that threatened to pool at the brink of her eyes. "We're done. I'm done. I can't keep doing this."
She was finally raising the white flag.
Grabbing her jacket off of the back of the couch, Y/n made her way to the door; taking one last glance at him. He didn't bother moving from his position – standing still in the middle of the living room as the girl he claimed he care about was walking out of his life.
A part of her wanted him to stop her, just one last time.
But seeing as he didn't seem to budge and she knew she had fucked up.
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
"Kim fucking Mingyu, get out here." She called out as the front door slammed behind her; dumping all her belongings on the couch next to his roommate.
"Geez," Minghao scooted away to the far end of the sectional, clutching the remote in his hand closer to his chest. "You sure know how to make an entrance."
She snapped her neck towards his direction, holding a finger up. "Not. A. Single. Word." Y/n gritted through her teeth.
"Gyu! Get out here! I'm scared!" Minghao cried, eyes wide.
"The hell is going on?" Mingyu chuckled, sauntering out of his room to meet a fuming y/n.
"Make him choose, he'll wake up and actually pick you." Y/n mocked, using a high pitched voice. "Fuck you."
Mingyu had grown tired of listening to her vent about how their mutual friend continued to toy with her emotions, coming up with the bright idea to finally voice her the thoughts that had been flooding her mind. She had unfortunately, allowed her best friend to talk her into giving Seungcheol an ultimatum; in hopes that maybe it will finally make him realize that it had been her all along.
Because maybe.... just maybe, he'll choose her. She should have known better than to listen to him.
Taking a step closer, Mingyu craned his neck to get a better look at her. "Have you been crying?"
"Yes!" She pouted, the tears welling up in her eyes once again – the scene of her standing in the middle of Seungcheol's living room replaying in her head. "You told me to make him pick! Guess what, he did! He chose her!"
He technically didn't choose. He didn't say anything.
But y/n knew that his silence was more than enough confirmation.
Mingyu tried to hold back the laughter the was building in his chest, but it was no use. He had always found her crying face a little funny; earning a smack across his chest as the girl allowed her tears to fall freely down her face.
Just as she had when she was driving on the way to his place, blasting her 'heartbroken girl' playlist.
"Sorry, come here." He pulled her into his chest, laughing harder as he heard a muffled sob against him.
"It's not funny!" Y/n stomped.
"It kinda is." He gave her a squeeze before stepping away from her. "Look, I told you he was a red flag. Hao, told you he was a red flag. You knew he was a red flag..."
Wiping away the remaining tears on her cheeks, she took a seat on the couch; letting out a loud groan. "What if red is my favorite color?"
Mingyu and Minghao exchanged looks before giving the girl the same one they had expressed to each other.
They had heard her defend Seungcheol countless of times and had no shame in freely judging her for it.
They were men, and men knew how men's brain worked.
No matter how many times she tried to make it seem as though Seungcheol's actions were done with no intentions of hurting her, they knew he was not smart enough to do that.
No man was.
When a woman thinks a man is pretending not to care, it was most likely because he actually doesn't.
They were simple creatures.
"Don't judge me. Both of you guys are horrible, horrible men too!"
She had her fair share of overhearing how they talked about the opposite sex – forgetting that she was woman as well. She had been around them for so long that they no longer considered her as a girl. Hell, she doesn't even think they considered her as a person.
Y/n cringed at how they talked about their recent dates and girls that blew up their phones, scolding them whenever they took it too far.
"Hey, we are horrible men who have the decency to tell girls we are not looking for anything serious. So if anything, we are pink flags." Minghao defended as he crossed his arms over his chest.
They were in their 20's, at their prime, and had women practically drooling at the sight of them. They simply had to exist and they fell at their feet.
They were just like any other men in the dating pool.
At least they had the decency to never ghost a girl and give her a heads up on what exactly they were looking for.
Just plain fun.
They didn't string them along.
Not like what Seungcheol had done with y/n.
"I need new friends."
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
She knew she shouldn't have agreed on going with Mingyu to this damn party.
It had been three weeks since she had last seen Seungcheol and she would have lasted longer if her best friend hadn't practically dragged her out of her apartment to accompany him to Seokmin's place for a joint birthday celebration he was hosting with Hansol.
A part of her prayed that he wouldn't show up.
Why wouldn't he though? They shared mutual friends.
Of course he would be there.
"Are you going to avoid me all night?" He had finally been able to catch her all alone as she had gone into the kitchen to grab another bottle of beer for Mingyu.
The beer that he had guilt tripped her into getting for him; claiming that it was the least she could do since he had been so kind enough to make sure she was never alone the whole night – deterring Seungcheol from approaching her.
So much for that.
The list of reasons to murder Kim Mingyu is slowly becoming longer and longer.
Y/n was heartbroken and wanted Seungcheol to suffer. She wanted him to squirm and feel restless – she wanted him to break the 'no contact' rule that he had been holding onto since she had walked out on him.
She wasn't going to be the first to crack. Not this time.
"Yes." She flashed him a smile before heading back to the dining room, taking a seat next to Mingyu. "Here, I hope you choke."
"What I do?" He took the bottle from her hand, bring his arm back to rest on the back of her chair.
"He followed me into the kitchen."
Mingyu watched as Seungcheol rejoined the group, making eye contact with him.
"My bad." He chuckled, taking a swig.
The night went on with the room filled with laughter and voices speaking over each other – much like any other time they were all together.
All while y/n ignored the hole that Seungcheol was burning into her skin; feeling his stare from across the table, the rest of the group didn't seem to pay no mind to the tension between the two.
And frankly they didn't seem to care – very aware that the two had an icy hot relationship.
All except Mingyu, who had caught on to this the second he sat back down.
"You ready to head out?" He leaned down, whispering into y/n's ear.
Turning to give him a disgusted look, she nudged his body away. "Ew."
"Play along." Mingyu said, low enough for just them two to hear – his eyes signaling over to where Seungcheol sat. She sneakily took a glance over at him, seeing his jaw tense at the sight of her and Mingyu being at such close proximity.
She met Mingyu's eyes, silently asking him what was going on.
"I'll tell you in a bit."
"Okay but don't fucking do that ever again." She shuddered.
The two have been friends since middle school – having seen each other through all phases of their lives. Including their awkward pre-puberty stages.
Other girls seemed to fall at the feet of Mingyu, thinking he was some gorgeous Greek God; but all y/n could see were the days he would be knuckle deep in his nose digging for gold only to wipe it on her skin right after.
He was pretty, she'll admit to that.
But he was gross.
"We're heading out." Mingyu announced, standing from his seat; holding his hand out for her to take.
A chorus of bye's was heard from around the table as y/n hesitantly placed her hands in his – allowing him to guide her out of the apartment.
Once the door had closed behind them, and was out of earshot, they immediately dropped each other's hands.
"Your hands are cold." His nose scrunched.
"That's not something I can control." Y/n snapped back.
They have known each other long enough for their friendship to turn more into a love-hate one; bickering like their lives depended on it instead of holding a proper conversation.
Mingyu stepped into the elevator, hitting the LOBBY button, "Just saying, geez."
"Wanna tell me why you had your hot breath in my ear?"
A mischievous smile appeared on his face and y/n knew right at that moment that she shouldn't have asked.
Any time he smiled like that, she had always run into some issue that caused her to regret every single decision she had made in her life – it was never a good sign whenever his canines were in full show.
"I know how you can get him."
Or maybe.... this one won't be as bad.
"How?"
"Pretend to date me."
"No."
"Wha– why not?" Offended at how quickly she had turned him down.
"No. Ew."
"It's not for real. We won't even kiss!"
"No."
"Fine. Then I don't want to hear how much you miss him." He stepped out of the elevator with her hot on his heels.
Despite being the one to end things between her and Seungcheol, y/n had spent the past few weeks venting to her friend how she wished he at least texted her. Or maybe fallen into the trap of swiping up on the stories she had posted on her social media.
"Fine."
"Fine." He shrugged, entering his car.
The two drove in silence, allowing the low hum of the engine and radio to fill the air – both of their social batteries at zero percent.
She had been absentmindedly scrolling through tiktok when she began to once again, allow Mingyu's coniving voice plague her thoughts. Y/n replayed Seungcheol's stoic expression in her head, knowing well enough that her and Mingyu's interaction had gotten to his head.
Y/n couldn't believe she was actually considering entertaining the thought of fake dating to make Seungcheol jealous.
But she was far gone from reasonable thinking, wanting to do anything just to make sure she could hear Seungcheol say the words.
She wanted him to pick her.
If he was a red flag, then she could even be redder.
"Can't I just use a different guy to make him jealous?" She spoke up.
Mingyu let out a loud cackle, throwing his head back. He knew it would only be a matter of time before she cracked. "Like who?"
"What about Wonwoo, he's single right?" She recalled to the time in their sophomore year when the two had drunkenly shared a kiss at a frat party. It was convincing.
"He's also not your type."
"You don't know my type." She rolled her eyes.
"Yeah I do. You like emotionally unavailable men."
"I do not–"
"Really? Jungk–"
"Okay!" She interrupted him, not wanting to be reminded of her ex who had made her cry for almost every day of the week during her senior year. It was not her proudest moment, but then again, most of the men she dated never made her proud.
"Come on, let me be toxic and mess with him." Mingyu snickered, slowing at the red light to send her a wink.
"No."
"Come on!"
"What's in it for you?"
"Please, making him angry is more than enough for me." A mischievous laugh escaped his lips.
Mingyu had always had some sort of competition with Seungcheol, dating all the way back to their freshman year of college. The two had always been playing a silent game of chess, finding ways to make each other upset over the smallest things.
Whether it was scoring more during a game, or dating the same girls... the two were always neck and neck.
But she knew he was right. If there was anyone that would grind Seungcheol's gears the way Sunhee did for her, it was Mingyu.
Y/n couldn't help but feel disgusted at herself as swayed into the decision. She couldn't believe she had become a pawn in the two's game.
"He better choose me by the end of this."
"Of course, baby."
"Don't call me that."
"Yeah that was gross." He gagged.
He called her baby.
And she only liked it if he called her baby. No one else.

— beer & brother's friend ... ★
Tumblr media
#pairing: seungcheol X reader. #synopsis: your brother goes out to buy fast food, leaving you and seungcheol alone at home. #tags: pwp, vaginal sex, fingering, kitchen sex, spit, creampie. #notes: my first story with seventeen i hope you like it guys!!! #wc: 1,3k
Tumblr media
is almost 8pm when you listen your brother laughs so loud, so you go to the kitchen, noticing the all beers bottle that was in the table.
"oh, really guys, did you even call me?"
the first thing that you noticed was how handsome seungcheol looked.
you brother, vernon, and seungcheol was friends a few years, since you and your brother living together, sometimes seungcheol go to the apartament and drink some beers ou watches some movies with vernon.
and yes, sure, cheol always being handsome, and you know that a few months ago he started the gym, you always see his posts on instagram, but damn, his so fucking hot personally.
"so, the princess came to join the commoners" seungcheol played with you.
"i want, but no one invited me..." you pretend a sad face.
"bla bla bla" vernon said. "it even feels like i need to call you for drink"
maybe now, seeing that who is in your home, you probably would dress better, like, the small shorts and thin shirt made you so... basic.
whatever, you take a beer and sit on table with the two guys.
sitting next to cheol, you smell his perfume, damn, he's unbearably hot! it's not like you didn't already know this, but in the last few months he was pushing the limits, having the guy so close to you was making you easily horny.
you drank A LOT a little, the alcohol making you burn every time seungcheol's knee touched yours. the three of you would talk about anything, your brother being visibly the only sober one there.
"i think that i wont see you since you started dating, how's going?" seungcheol questioned, taking a beer in his lips.
"she broke up, his boyfriend cheated her... with her friend" vernon laughed, your brother really gave you all emotional support, but now his just laughs a lot.
"shut up!"
"oh, is real?" cheol questioned. "i'm so sorry for that!"
"she don't care" your brother said again. "she cheated him back... with his brother."
"WITH WHOM? oh god!"
"guys... i'm still on this table..." you said.
"and i'm not!" vernon joked. "i'm taking the fries, give me a second"
so your brother go to cooktop, leaving you and seungcheol alone.
seungcheol had a look that you couldn't identify, but it gave you goosebumps, the truth is that you always had a crush on your brother's friend, but for obvious reasons you had never tried anything, it didn't even seem like something reciprocated.
but seungcheol was so fucking hot, you definitely wanted to kiss him.
"oh... his brother?" he asked, a kinda unbeliever.
"is not a big deal, ok? his fucked with my friend, i just... go deeper... isn't my fault, his brother fucked me too, like, i'm not haved sex alone..."
"yeah, sure, i understand..." his said.
"oh, really?"
he approached, whispering in you ear.
"sure, like, if i was his brother, i wanted to fuck with you too... actually, wouldn't even wait for him to cheat you for that."
cheol laughs, squeezing your thigh in a less than affectionate way, his eyes are dark.
fuck, he was hitting on you?
"guys, the fries burned..." vernon laughed.
"oh, i'm really hungry now..." you said, looking to cheol.
yes, maybe the food that you want its other...
"i can go to the mc if you want!" cheol sayed to you and vernon.
"oh, definitely NO, you are drunk. i'll go, just let me change de clothes."
your brother went to the room, and seungcheol's dark gaze stayed on you, along with the unchaste caress on your thigh, which rose even further towards the hem of the tiny shorts you were wearing.
vernon came back, saying he would return in 20 minutes and asking you not to break anything in the house.
when your brother left, the amount of dirty thoughts that passed through your mind scared you, you knew you found seungcheol attractive, but wanting to take off your clothes and lie on the table asking him to fuck you wasn't the best thing to think about right now.
you got up, going to get another beer from the fridge, but you were scared by the large body that pressed you against it.
"c-cheol, wh-?"
"tell me that your pretty whore face was a request to me, please!"
"my-my?"
"i’ve been wanting to fuck you for so long... and when i found the courage to admit it, you started dating." he laughed with a laugh that bordered on despair.
what do you mean he wanted to fuck you?
“vernon could come home in any min-”
"i promise to be quick, i know you're wet, hm?" he said kissing your neck, pressing his hips into your waist, making you feel his cock. "i've been like this since i saw you enter that damn kitchen, i planned to wait for your brother to sleep so i could come to your room but..." he kissed your jaw, and you were already overcome by lust. "let me have you now!"
you didn't respond, not verbally, you just took his hand down your shorts, showing the damage your own thoughts had done to you.
he was agile in placing two fingers inside your wet hole, making you moan at the sensation.
"are you already open for me, kitty? if you're a good girl now, when your brother sleeps, i promise to come into your room and make you cum in my mouth... but now let me fuck you with my dick, hm? "
"f-"
you don’t even know how he was so fast, but in the next second you felt his cock inside you, spreading you open as he stuck his tongue in your mouth.
his tongue tasted like beer, and you moaned when it came into contact with yours at the same time as every inch of him entered you further.
"tight pussy, but accepting me so well..." he said before thrusting once, the shock of his balls hitting you.
“fuck” you moaned, closing your eyes, planting your nails on his arm. the mix of lust and burning.
"no, princess, look that... you're taking me so well..." he forces you to look down, increasing the speed of his thrust as he lifts your two legs, intertwining them with his thighs.
you are literally open to seungcheol, he pushes you against the fridge while he fucks you, seeming to take away all the time he wanted you, you feel his vision get blurred with so much information.
"i've wanted to fuck you for so long, you finally broke with your pathetic boyfriend."
he pushes you further against the fridge, lowering the strap of your shirt and exposing one of your nipples, seungcheol spits on one of them before starting to stimulate it with his fingers, using the spit to lub.
"you're always going to give me that cunt now, right? so delicious..."
he kisses you, and then begins to stimulate your clit, sloppy circles taking you to heaven and hell at the same time.
"i'll-"
"please smear my dick all over with your cream, love!"
the touch on your clit becoming firmer as he stuck his tongue back into your mouth, and you came..
the laugh he gave when he felt your cum was one of the most exciting things you had ever heard in your life.
"hold on a little, princess." he said kissing his neck and he didn't stop thrusting into you.
and then he came. filling you completely with his cum.
seungcheol continues thrusting for a few seconds, his cum making his dick slide even better.
"we n-need to stop, my brother..."
"oh right." he releases you. "can we talk about this later?" he questions when he sees you heading towards the bathroom, you nod.
and it takes less than two minutes for vernon to get into the house.
shit, you guys forgot to clean the floor.

Still In This Holy Ground
Tags: Friends to lovers to exes to lovers; idol!Seungcheol x reader
Note: Seungcheol is the ex that makes you wonder if you will love and be loved again in the same way when you were with him.
Songs to listen:
Holy Ground - Taylor Swift BBC Live Lounge
Death by Thousand Cuts - Taylor Swift
His Car Isn't Yours - WENDY
They say that healing journey does not have a definite timeline. One day after you and Seungcheol broke up, the mug he used still on your dining table. You didn't know that would be the last coffee you will make for him.
One week after the break up, you went home happily with your favorite chinese take out only to cry on the floor of your apartment. You realized that you will be spending all weekends alone. Seungcheol will not be joining you anymore to watch the latest episode of transit love. You took the chinese take out and gave it to the guard. You swear to never buying from that chinese restaurant even if they have the best orange chicken.
One month after the break up, your friends are urging you to go out and have fun. You never showed them that you are suffering but they know you still cry yourself to sleep. You cry even more when you realize his smell on your pillowcase already faded. They say it takes 21 days to form a habit but you think you will never be used to waking up without his good morning message.
"There are plenty of men out there."
You just nod and smile whenever they say it. Plenty of men but they are not Seungcheol. No one bring warmth just like him. He holds your hand when you look anxious or nervous. He never forgets to buy your favorite tea when you are running low and too busy to buy grocery. Despite being busy, he makes sure to meet you every weekend. If he comes to your apartment late and you are already sleeping, he will sleep besides you and waits for you to wake up before leaving.
Dating Seungcheol is the best decision you made. Friends and family doubted your relationship due to his profession. Your younger sister's boyfriend is always present at family function. This was not an issue for you but relatives make rumors about his absence. How he might be ashamed of you or he might be dating someone industry and you are just a side piece. You will just smile at them and brush away the rumors. It is not because his schedule can't cater the family events. You just don't want him  to enter the chaos. It is already enough that he listens to your laments.
You met him during college. You sat in the front row while he sat near the door at the back. Seungcheol has a perfect attendance for the whole semester despite having music shows and practice. However, on the next semester their world tour started, he misses some class. When he attends the class, Seungcheol is obviously sleepy.
You never interacted with him nor made a fuss about having an idol classmate. One day, Seungcheol approached you if he can copy your notes for the two lectures he missed. You didn't hesitate and gave your notebook so he can take picture of it. However, Seungcheol sheepishly asked if he can take it to library to photocopy. He rambled that he does not like his notes on his phone. Seungcheol claimed that he likes it hard copy. You just nodded at him and told him to give it back within the day. Seungcheol gave you his first of his thousands smile to you and returned your notebook later that day with a cup of coffee.
"Thanks for the notes." He said handing your notebook and a cup of iced americano. "Coffee for you."
"Thanks for giving back my notebook." You said and gave him a small smile. You don't drink the coffee but you take it as courtesy. Something about his eyes and the way he smiles that make saying no to him hard.
You thought that would be the first and last interaction but he added you on facebook. Since then Seungcheol will ask you about notes, announcements, or anything he missed when he is out and being an idol. Facebook messages turn into Seungcheol tagging along with you when you rot yourself in the library. One time, he answered his phone beside you and told someone that he is in library with a friend.
"Since when did we become a friend?" You raised your eyebrow that made him flustered.
"Since when you lend your notes, Ma'am." He smiled and leaned on the table.
"You just want my notes. I figured it out." You rolled your eyes to tease him.
"And the owner of the notes." Seungcheol said that made you hold your breath. You smiled and went back to reading your notes. If you did not look away, you are sure that you will be taken away by this man.
Facebook messaged became phonecalls. It started when you missed 3 school days in a row. You got admitted to a hospital for viral infection and bronchitis. A simple cough and sore throat became worse over the weekend. Your mom travelled to the city when you cried over the phone and took you to the hospital.
It was on the 3rd day when your phone rang. You picked up your phone without looking on it.
"Where are you? Are you okay?" You need to look at your phone just to make sure it is Seungcheol. His voice is full of worry.
"Hey. I'm in the hospital. You can ask Christine for her note--"
"Which hospital?" He did not let you finish your sentence. His voice have a sense of urgency. You blurted out the name of the hospital. He said something you did not understand before saying bye.
30 minutes later someone is knocking in your hospital room then you are now introducing Seungcheol to your mom. He brought lecture notes and share to you then peeled oranges for you. Seungcheol visits you everyday until you were discharged.
Whenever he is near, it feels hard for you to breathe. You thought this was an aftereffect of your hospitalization. But you realized that it only happens whenever Seungcheol is near. Everytime Seungcheol is around, he makes your heart beats faster. You thought this only happens in 90s romcom movies. You hate how Seungcheol is now a focal focus of your everyday life. You wait for his messages and anticipated his arrival at university.
It is a futile move to hope for something so throughout college you love him silently. Everyday you remind yourself that you are just a college girl Seungcheol made friends with because he needs someone in university. You remind yourself that you are just a fraction of his grand life. This is how you broke your own heart for thw first time while Seungcheol is slowly trying to make you feel how his whole world is revolving around you.
You enjoyed every moment with him because you knew that once graduation came, it will be a goodbye. On the graduation day, you congratulated him. In return, he hugged you tight. You wanted to cry as you melt in his arms.
"Thank you for letting me annoy you for the past 4 years." You laughed in his ears.
"No worries, Seungcheol. Anytime." You said before pulling away and saying bye. You started walking away but you stopped and turned around. Seungcheol still standing and watching you. It's now or never. Just like at the ending of a 90s romcom, you run back towards him.
Everything is just a background noise and time slowed down for you and him. You have nothing to lose. Seungcheol is smiling widely at you. This is the first time you did not act guarded. When you are standing in front of him, you exhaled loudly.
"Choi Seungcheol" Seungcheol frowned and pouted. He told you before that he hates how people call him in his full name. You smiled at his reaction. "We might never meet again. I just need to let this out or I will be miserable for keeping this secret for the longest time.  So here goes nothing. I like you."
Seungcheol eyes widened when you said those words. You laughed at his reaction. You did not wait for his response and run away towards the parking lot where your parents are waiting for you.
Your dad started driving to the restaurant he reserved to celebrate your graduation when your phone rang. It was Seungcheol. You bit your lips and shake your head before answering his call.
"Where are you? I'm at the parking lot. Your dad still drives a red hyundai, right?"
"We already left, Seungcheol." You heard him sigh.
"You can't just say you like me and leave like that."
"I just did." You pointed out that made him sigh again. You can see him sulking. "I need to hang up. See you when I see you."
Which you know it will be hard.
"Which restaurant are you going?" You humor him by telling the name of the place. There is no way he will go to your graduation dinner. He has an appearance to a local radio show in the evening. He ended the call which made you frown. You keep your phone in your bag as you enter the restaurant.
You were enjoying the dinner when a familiar face entered. To your horror, it was Seungcheol waving at you. You looked around the restaurant before standing and dragging him in the corner.
"Who says we will never meet again?" Seungcheol said grinning at you. He held your hand that made you look around and you pull your hand away. Afraid someone might see you and him.
"What are you doing?"
"I should have said this instead of keeping this for the longest time." He sighed looking at your hand then to you. "I am running late to my appointment but I need to tell you this. I like you. No. I love you for the longest time. I look forward going to classes because of you. You gave me another reason to push through."
You found yourself clutching to your necklace. You did not expect hearing those words from him. Love is a big word and he said it so naturally for you. You saw someone entered the restaurant and waved at Seungcheol. He needs to go.
Later that night, Seungcheol called you to talk about the two of you. Once his schedule is cleared, he visited you at your hometown. That's how you went from having him as your classmate, your friend, to your boyfriend.
Falling in love is easy. Staying in love is hard. Breaking up is an easy way out. Adulting made the difference between your world and his world clearer. You have bills to pay. The eldest daughter who is slowly taking the breadwinner role as your parents heading to retirement. Pressuring you to do all things so your whole family climb the social ladder. You are in your mid 20s but your fire is already dying.
Seungcheol is nothing short of a great boyfriend. But life made it hard for you to love. You decided to take further studies for greater chances of promotion and taking side job. Seventeen started to pursue the western side of the world. You see him on the tv more than you see him in person.
It didn't take more time for you see him as stranger. It is like when you were back in your college days before he asks for your notes. He is back into being an idol you casually know. You can't see where the relationship is going anymore. You started feeling alone in life. To you, it is obvious where this is heading.
They said never decide when you are tired, hungry, or sleep deprived because you are prone to make bad deicison. A bad day at work, a screaming session with you mom, and rescheduled date. You can only endure so much. Seungcheol found you crying on your sofa. He went immediately to you after the extended practice.
You are tired of everyone and everything. You are crumbling gradually. No one can fix you. The mess that you have and you made. Not even Seungcheol's hug can mend you. You held his hand tightly as you cry. You don't know how to tell this to him. This is harder than confessing your love for him.
"Cheol, I think...we should stop." You wipe your tears. Seungcheol nodded as if he is expecting this and trying to understand you.
"I've been a bad boyfriend these past few months." You shook your head in protest. You wanted to say something but all you can do is cry. He took you in his arms and let you rest on his chest. "I'm sorry for hurting you...for not being with you."
He calmed you down and tucked you to your bed. Seungcheol hummed a song while watching you fall asleep. You woke up the next day with his mug on your bed side table. No text or whatsoever. He is scared to hurt you further. And that is how 4 years of friendship and 3 years of relationship went down the drain.
Three months after the break up, you unfriended him on facebook, unfollowed him on instagram, and put Seventeen and his name on muted words on twitter. But you still can't escape him. His face is on billboards and television program. It is like the universe telling you what you lost.
Your life got better. You were promoted. You made your parents happy but your heart? It never got better. You are just functioning and not living.
Fourth month without Seungcheol in your life, you started to put away his things and anything that reminds you of him. You smiled when you see a polaroid of him. You are still aching but you are thankful that a relationship with him happened. One of the best years of your life.

Fifth month after the break up, your lease contract ended. You decided to move out and search for an apartment nearer to your work. Just when you thought it did not hurt anymore, you cried while you are packing. It is like finally saying goodbye to the last piece that reminds you of him. This one bed room apartment witnessed all the sleepover, date nights, and lazy mornings. You will never dance in the middle of this tiny apartment with him. It's the end of an era.
Sixth month since you decided to end it with Seungcheol, you agreed to go on a blind date set up by your friend. John is a nice guy. He always reply. He shows up on time. But something felt amiss. You don't want to be unfair to him. On the third date, you decided to tell that you want him as friend and nothing more. That night you went to bed wondering if you will fall in love again the way you fell for Seungcheol.
It was the end of the month. The rain is pouring hard. You run towards your new apartment drench in the rain. Ten steps away from your door when you saw someone at your front door. You thought you are a hallucinating.
"What the hell?" You said it a bit too loud. Seungcheol turned his head to you. You walked faster and unlocked your door to let him in.
"Your mom gave me your address." He said following you inside. Of course, your mom gave it to him. You went to your bathroom to get some towels for the both of you.
"Are you here for your things?" You gave the towel to him then went to the kitchen to prepare coffee for him. You observe him from your periphery. He bulked up a bit. His wet black shirt is hugging his body. His hair a bit longer and black. It suits him. He took the break up better you thought. "I already pack it a month ago. I just need to find where I put the box."
Seungcheol is just looking at you. When you serve the coffee, you went to your room without looking at him. Meeting your worst enemy is better than seeing the ex you yearn for. You can't believe Seungcheol is in your new apartment. It is like your past and present colliding. The present that doesn't have him in it. You don't want to look affectes but when you found the box at the bottom of your cabinet. You smiled painfully. The last piece that reminds him of you.
You went out of your room. Seungcheol is sitting at your kitchen counter. His back facing. You wanted to hug him but you know he is not yours anymore. You watch him drink the coffee you made. You are not sure if you still got the taste he wanted right. Few days ago, you bought coffee beans on your grocery run. When you are sorting the items, you laugh upon seeing the coffee beans because you only buy it because Seungcheol like coffee.
You approach him and place the box at the kitchen counter.
"Let me know if there is something missing. I will try to find it." You said. Still not looking at him. Afraid that you might fell apart. Months of healing and trying to forget him all went down the drain. You already know that you will be crying your sleep once he leave.
When you heard Seungcheol open the box, you steal glances of him. You saw how he carefully touch the fabric of his sweater you always wear. There is a small smile forming on his lips. His signature dimple is showing.
"You got a nice apartment. It's great that you find a walking distance place near your work."  Seungcheol knew your struggle travelling to your work specially when you work over time.
"The timing aligned. I was planning to renew the contract on my previous place but this apartment popped up on the listing." You looked straight at his eyes briefly. He nodded while listening to you. Seungcheol is still attentive as ever. It has been months since you have someone to listen to you and look at you like you are the only person in the room.
You smiled in an attempt to keep your tears at bay. You don't know how long he will be around. He doesn't have any reason to stay longer. In the end, you hurted both of you. But you needed that break up to breathe from everything.
"Congratulations for the successful tour and new album." Despite putting every word on mute, unfollowing the boys, and unfriending him, news about them still reach you. Every news about them breaking a record makes your heart swell in pride. You used to pre-order every album release and stream their songs while working. You were Seungcheol's number 1 fan and believer. You were and will always be his fan.
"Thank you." Seungcheol smiled to you. Your heart ached. The whole room is filled with unspoken words. "I heard from your mom you got promoted. Congratulations! I told you...you will get the promotion."
"Yeah...I guess you are right." You chuckled with your eyes getting visibly shining in tears. You got what you wanted but at what cost.  You bit your lips thinking that will stop the tears from falling. Seungcheol saw the first tear fell. "I'm sorry."
That's all you said and turned around but Seungcheol did what he wanted to do since the first time he saw you again. He pulled you into his arms where you belong.
"Last time I saw you, you were crying." Seungcheol said each words with a shaky voice. "And now you are still crying. Did I hurt you that much? I'm sorry."
You shook your head. Seungcheol caress your hair and you grip on his clothes like it is your lifeline. "Seungcheol, I am sorry. I hurted you. I got lost. I can't understand myself. I feel like drowning and the only way out I know is to break away from you."
"I understand." Seungcheol said that made you pull away and look at him. He wiped your tears.
"How can you be so kind? I hurted you. Be angry at me. I broke up with you in a snap."
"I can't." Seungcheol shook his head. Tears falling on his face. "I am angry at myself because I let you take everything and lose yourself. I  am angry that I made you feel alone in this relationship. I am angry that I made life get in between us."
"I don't want this anymore." You took his hand and rest your head on his chest. The fort you held on these past few months came crumbling down. "Six months. Six months of hell, Cheol. I don't want any of this. I don't want to go on this life without you."
"You have no idea how much I miss you and want you back. I just don't know if you still want me."
"I still want you."
"Good to hear that because I am not here to get my things back." You raised your eyebrows while he smirk at you. "I'm here to take you back."
"You are such a sly man."
You both laughed. Eyes still red because of crying but lips are smiling wide. Some say that sometimes people break up or part ways to find themselves and eventually find their way back to each other. An ample amount of time to heal and be better person for each other. Once you found each other again, never let go. Not everyone will be given a second chance.

It is a beautiful day, and like they always say: beautiful things happen on beautiful days, and you were damn ready for the said beautiful thing to happen!
The plan is simple—you and Jun have gone over it at least fifty times, and Seokmin has been standing there listening to you both intently throughout the whole ordeal.
“So, let’s go over it once again,” you say, pointing at the white board with the picture of a man, Mingyu to be exact, the heir to the Kim Corp. and your target.
“He leaves his office to have coffee every afternoon exactly at 3pm at the nearest café named ‘Carvery’, am I right?” Jun and Seokmin nod with a concentrated look on their faces.
“Next he goes to the park, sits there for fifteen minutes, on most days, and then takes the path that leads them straight back to the building, correct?” The two men again nod, and then Jun takes over the talking.
“More often than not, he hates company during his afternoon runs, so the best chance we have of abducting the man is when he is between the café and the park. This will give us at least a twenty-minute head start before the police and his family start looking for him.”
Now you and Seokmin nod at the man, and Seokmin takes the podium to present the next part.
“Jun and I will be on the streets while y/n waits in the car, and from the background check we ran last month, we know the man is well trained in martial arts, so we will try and attack him with the anesthetic as soon as possible.”
“And after the guy is unconscious, we will flee with his ass~,” adds Jun.
“Sounds like a solid plan,” you laugh as you high five the two men.
Indeed, it was a solid plan. You three had considered every possibility and chosen this day to execute your plan. It’s perfect and thorough, so what can go wrong?
--
A lot apparently.
You reached the destination ten minutes early to give Seokmin and Jun ample amount of time to prepare for the attack.
As you parked your car near the pavement where the abduction would take place, you see a man walk past the car wearing a beige trench coat with some sort of concoction from the coffee shop.
Now if you were a seasoned abductor, you would have known not to mess with the person as the timing was not right. But that was not the case, and seeing a person who vaguely matched the physical descriptions of the man you were actually supposed to abduct gave you enough reason to jump the gun and take this man hostage.
Before you could process anything, Seokmin jumped on the guy, trying to tackle him while Jun tried to find a way to inject the drug into his system. After another minute of struggle, taking at least five punches in their abdomen and faces, both the men were successful in sedating the man.
They hurriedly carried him to the car and you three sped off to the base to ask his family for ransom.
--
You have been back at the base for three hours now. As you look at the unconscious man tied to the chair in front, you realize the grave mistake you made by not seeing his face the minute you were actually kidnapping him.
“I mean if you look at his eyes, they look very similar to the real target, you know. Maybe he ate too much last night and is a bit swollen now,” Jun says in a wise tone. Now if you were stupid like Seokmin, you would have accepted this analogy of his just like the hundred others he had spewed in the past two hours, but you are not. So, you hit the guy’s head while calmly saying.
“Will you keep quiet for a minute? You know as well as I that this is the wrong man. We don’t even know who he actually is. So, we wait for him to gain consciousness and then interrogate him.”
You have figured that screaming and crying will get you nowhere. All it will do is trigger Seokmin’s panic attack, and you do not think he can manage another one after the one hour long one he just resurfaced from.
“Our best bet is that we abducted a pretty important dude, or else we know the boss will have our meat served to his dogs for their nightly feasts,” you continued.
“I can see he is wearing pretty costly brands all over. My guts say he is rich,” Seokmin pipes up.
“Seok, your gut told you to scream for the past hour. I don’t trust it a lot now,” you complain.
“I think it’s your fault, too. You should have stopped us from abducting the guy instead of just staring from the car, you know,” Jun says.
Now, you will consider yourself to be a level-headed person, but one thing that gets to you more than anything else is a false accusation. On top of that, the bitch has the gal to accuse you of being careless when they were the ones showing literally no care about their work, owing to the fact you were not even supposed to abduct the untouchable Kim Mingyu in the first place. The leader of your clan, although you three had never seen him, mostly operated through Jeonghan, his right-hand man. The guy you agreed to kidnap was apparently remarkably close to your boss. But when faced with the tough choice of loyalty towards one gang and the lump sum of three million, you three had to face the situation and betray your gang. You know you should not, but the small jobs with the gang were not enough to even pay your rent!
So, who does Jun think he is to shift the blame towards you when you have done nothing but try to make a secure living for all three of you. Therefore, you do the thing that your sane brain advises you to.
Go off at Jun.
“So, if I fail to babysit two grown men while on an extremely important mission that included them, the blame is shifted towards me?!”
“You were both supposed to wait for my instructions before confronting the poor bloke. Now, if things go wrong, it will be your faults, and I will be dragged into it because I was the main brain behind the planning.”
“Guys, I think we should focus on the guy more; I think he is stirring.”
This statement from Seokmin caught both of your attention, causing you to cease the argument immediately to take a look at the man in front of you.
Without hesitation, you put your gun on his head and ask, “who are you, tell us about yourself.”
The man albeit good looking with his doe eyes and plump lips, gave you three a mean stare before speaking sassily.
“Shouldn’t you know the identity of the person you kidnap?”
“If we knew, I don’t think I would have asked about you,” you reply.
The man scoffs before informing you the most gut-wrenching piece of information you have ever heard.
“I’m Choi Seungcheol leader of Choi Clan.”
--
When Seungcheol met Mingyu today, he was feeling particularly drained and sought the comfort of a familiar face, longing for a brief respite from the relentless demands of his job. Mingyu, sensing his friend's exhaustion, proposed they take a detour to unwind, considering Seungcheol's grueling schedule. Gratefully accepting the suggestion, Seungcheol had embarked on what he thought would be a much-needed moment of relaxation.
Oh, how wrong he was.
As he leisurely sipped his coffee, enjoying a fleeting moment of calm, the tranquility was shattered by the sudden onslaught of a group of thugs. Seungcheol had braced himself for a possible mugging, but the idea of being abducted never crossed his mind. He curses himself for sending Soonyoung away earlier, now regretting not having company in this unforeseen predicament.
To make matters worse, Seungcheol felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him. A mafia boss getting abducted!
How humiliating.
Now, do not get him wrong, he was, in reality, as far from incompetent as the Sahara was from water, as Seungkwan was from being calm, as Jihoon was from showing affection—you get the point.
In fact, he had been the first in three generations to successfully reclaim the southeastern part of the city for his clan from the Yoon family, a testament to his capabilities.
Now bound and surrounded by three hapless captors whose incompetence was glaringly evident, judging by the one who he suspects was crying prior to their conversation with him. He suspected they had targeted Mingyu, but mistakenly seized him instead. Seungcheol could not help but shake his head at their sheer incompetence.
Now, again, he is not that scared. He knows he has a trusted pack of workers who would join heaven and earth in search of him. No, he is least bothered about himself.
What he is actually bothered about is who planned to abduct Mingyu, because he is strictly off limits for his clan members. He knows this as much as anyone that they respect the young heir a lot, not only due to his kind nature, but also because of the relationship he has with their leader.
So, when he informs his three kidnappers his name, he gets the weirdest of responses ever—a chorus of ‘shits’ and ‘fucks.’ Moreover, he sees all three of his kidnappers suddenly fall down at his feet and grumbling out the most nonsensical bullshit ever. The only words he vaguely captures are ‘it was supposed to be someone else’ and ‘sirs’.
This confuses the man even more. But then he suddenly sees all three of them take their masks off, revealing two men and, dare he say, a very gorgeous woman. Now in any other situation,
Seungcheol would have laughed, but now that he is in it himself, the only reaction he can provide is a confused head nod as the woman immediately goes to untie his hands.
--
“So, you are telling me that you were paid to abduct my friend who you know is off limits, but still went ahead with the idea, even though you are the members of my gang?!”
He says as he looks at your group standing in front of him with their heads bowed down looking like kids getting scolded.
“But sir, we barely make any money from doing the jobs assigned to us. The only way for us to pay our rent was for taking up jobs from outside, and this one paid us a huge sum. We never wanted you to be the one getting abducted instead, we swear!” you suddenly exclaim with the extreme need to explain yourself.
Your two partners beside you do their dutiful job by nodding their heads with your rant.
“You three fucked up really bad, didn’t you?” He says, looking a tad bit amused.
“We are really sorry!” Seokmin chokes out, visibly scared by the whole ordeal.
“Well, it’s time I go back, so take me back to the office.”
Right after that statement comes out of his mouth, you three are escorting him out of the door to the car parked outside to take him back.
--
“So, you are telling me these three, these newbies who literally didn’t have any good job for them to gain experience, drugged your ass and took you to god knows where, and you couldn’t even put up a good fight?!”
Jeonghan exclaims, looking at the seated, nervous, and scared faces of the three of you from Seungcheol’s office’s glass.
“Apparently not,” the older man sighs.
“My friend, are you sure you are a real mafia? Because in light of the current happenings, I am starting to question your integrity a lot.” Jeonghan says as he barks out a laugh, taking immense pleasure at his friend’s humiliation.
“Or maybe you were too caught up staring at the pretty lady to notice that you were getting kidnapped.”
The bitch continues to make fun of the older man.
“I just thought I was getting mugged, so I didn’t fight hard enough. Who knew I would be kidnapped instead.” Seungcheol grumbles, pouting a bit.
“Which is even worse, because you are telling me you would have let people just mug you for no reason when you are one of the most influential people underground!” Jeonghan said while looking pretty concerned about the statement his superior just spewed, and he does indeed have a hard time accepting it.
“Ahh! Just get over with it and let me go. Plus make sure the three of them face the appropriate consequences for not only abducting me, but also trying to abduct my friend,” Seungcheol barks out while walking out, thoroughly humiliated, and annoyed that his junior was having fun at his expense.
So Jeonghan does the very thing at which he is extremely good.
Create chaos.
Right after his superior leaves, he strides towards the group and says, “so because the boss has instructed me to do something with you three which will stop you guys from going off the hook, I’m going to assign you some jobs in the organization because I can.”
Now, anyone even vaguely familiar with Jeonghan would recognize the expression he wore just before chaos ensued, but contrary to popular belief, Jeonghan is actually quite amiable—at least, that is what he believes, and that is what matters, right?
He continues, “Junhui, you will be overseeing the artillery division. Our deputy head Chan will ensure you are well informed about your job. You will meet him tomorrow. As for Seokmin,” he paused, a sly smile crossing his face, which made Seokmin visibly nervous, “You, my friend, will be our esteemed boss's driver. Lastly, y/n, you will be his assistant. You shall be meeting Chan tomorrow, too; he will explain the workings of your new role.”
Normally, in any ordinary conversation, you would not dare ask inappropriate questions, but the circumstances were far from normal, so you proceeded with the most audacious question you could muster: “Why did Chan leave his previous post?”
Jeonghan politely responded, “He left because the job didn’t suit him, so we shifted him to the artillery department as a deputy head.”
Unspoken was the fact that Chan had been worn down by the boss's relentless bullying, quietly requesting a transfer for at least three years before Jeonghan finally relented. Since then, the turnover of assistants had been alarmingly high. Jeonghan desperately hoped you would stick around. Moreover, if either you or Seungcheol objected to this arrangement, he had enough leverage to ensure you both comply. Enough dirt to keep both of you in line.
--
Your meeting with Chan the next day went well. He explained to you the workings, gave you tips and tricks on how to make sure all the work gets done. Overall, a 10/10 experience, except the small hiccup at the end where he cryptically said something along the lines of “Best of all fucking luck with this job because you will need it.”
Now a small best of luck is never a bad gesture, but that statement!
That shit was a bit too hostile, even for you. But you are fine, happy even. Anything that saves you from getting your life cut short by a mafia leader is always welcomed.
--
“What are you doing here?”
“Where is Jeonghan?”
The first two sentences to ever leave The Choi Seungcheol’s mouth the minute he sees your face when he comes into his office that afternoon. Indeed, so delightful!
"Sir, I've been assigned as your work assistant for the time being," you reply, your eyes downcast. It is a surreal turn of events considering just yesterday this man was tied up in your basement. After that ordeal, everything seemed to take on a different hue, almost as if you were hearing the bells of heaven. So, that reaction seems pretty appropriate to you given the circumstances.
Now you see our oh so beloved Mr. Choi was not just an underground mob because what is the fun in that, right! He mostly did international business under the guise of his company named The ChoiTech, solely based on providing technological change using sustainable means. Pretty cleaver tactic, although overused, but still gets the job done, so who are you to judge.
The man looking extremely shocked at your statement immediately rushed inside his office, you presume, to call Jeonghan. And sure enough, within five minutes of him disappearing from your sight, you could hear him loudly complaining to his secretary on the phone. “But Jeonghan I can’t be collaborating with her, after what she did to me yesterday!”
The man whined and then suddenly you could hear hushed whispers, so being the curious cat you were, slowly crept near the door to hear the conversation better.
“But man, it’s humiliating. She kidnapped me for fucks sake”, the oh so powerful man, who people assumed will one day rule the underworld, whined like a kid who has been denied to go on a playdate with their best friend.
By this time, you were almost pressed onto the door when suddenly the sound of someone clearing their throat made you jump away from it and look about for the person who stopped you from consuming you daily dose of gossip.
The culprit, Joshua, stood right in front of your desk with an amused look on his face.
Now Joshua is someone you were extremely familiar with, being the man who took care of assigning roles to the lower members of the group, you have had a lot of angry conversations with him.
“I would ask you if Seungcheol is busy, but the way you were trying so hard to eavesdrop, makes me think otherwise,” he says, making you roll your eyes.
“Just give me a minute to tell him you are here, then you can go in.”
The man nodded still looking thoroughly amused at how sad you looked due to missing out on whatever conversation you were listening to.
After a minute, the man was inside, now looking even happier that he has seen his next victim to torment.
--
“So Jeonghan was indeed right,” he said, looking like he was having a tough time controlling his laugh.
“Not you, too,” the pouty man whined from behind the desk. “But really, can you tell him to not put that woman as my assistant? I get war flashbacks every time I see her face,” he continued whining.
“I mean, I could do that, but where is the fun there, right!” Joshua, thoroughly enjoying his boss’s misery, replied. “But in all seriousness, you could just treat her like Chan. The boy is still traumatized by the amount of work you made him do,” he thoughtfully added.
The older replies, “I liked Chan, he was nice, would do anything you ask him to!”
“And so will she. Her life is at stake here, give her some benefit of the doubt.”
This statement made the older think like never before. Plans of tormenting you to quit your job rushing past his brain at high speed. Suddenly everything made sense.
“I can take my revenge! That is exactly why Jeonghan made her my assistant. Oh, my friend is such a genius!” Seungcheol said, looking a bit too enthusiastic.
“Ok, I am sure it was done to decrease his workload, but whatever you say, man,” the younger said skeptically after seeing the diabolical look on the elder’s face.
--
It has already been three weeks and suddenly you understand what Chan meant all those days back when he wished you good luck. To put it quite plainly, your boss is crazy.
The man was a combination of workaholic and perfectionist, which resulted in him getting swamped by work and by default the same fate befalls you every day, too. For the past three weeks, you have had a challenging time at the office to even take a break to eat food.
The men you called your enemies once, aka Jeonghan and Joshua, are the ones now saving you from dying out of malnutrition. You are eternally thankful to them. But more than anything now, you regret trying to kidnap Kim Mingyu—the name makes you want to cry in a corner and throw rocks at people, if you had any time to do so.
“Sir, you scheduled two appointments at the same time: the new project for the Orin Community Park and another one with Mr. Xu for the narcotic deal.”
You informed the man who had his face shoved in some papers, reading something diligently.
“Why did you not stop me from doing so then, you were right beside me when I was going through the plan.”
Now, it is your job to curate the perfect schedule for the man to follow, but Seungcheol being the guy born only to cause you inconvenience made his schedule for the week himself this time.
Why you might ask?
Purely because the man is a chronic insomniac and whenever he has trouble sleeping, instead of taking measures to have a peaceful sleep, he tries his hands in different works because he can, and this time his victim was the poor, poor schedule of his.
“Because you had already sent them both emails, sir,” you say, thoroughly exasperated.
“Ok maybe I did, so now I obviously can’t cancel on both so you figure out something so that I can attend both the meetings, because I ain’t missing any.”
The man just turns his chair around and keeps reading whatever he was reading in the first place.
With an extremely calm voice, you say, “sir I need you to stop trying to do something to pass time when you can’t sleep. I need you to actually go to a doctor.”  “Can’t,” comes his response, making you sigh more.
Sometimes it feels like you are working as a babysitter to a grown man instead of an assistant to a CEO.
Seeing the conversation would be going nowhere if you keep talking to him, you go out and do the second-best thing in your books.
Call Chan.
“Lemme guess, the boss is giving you a hard time!” The first sentence he says right after picking up the phone.
Sighing, you tell him all of Seungcheol’s various administrative behaviors throughout this week. When you got to the part where he had so bravely and meticulously made the perfect schedule, Chan started laughing. The gall of that boy!
“Wait, he still does that!” He exclaimed between his laughs, making you feel even more annoyed.
After calming down he says, “just make Jeonghan or Jihoon go for the community meeting and let him manage the narc. I know you are thankful, so do not mention it, but maybe buy me a meal when you are free, as a repayment.”
Chuckling at the younger boy, you agreed to get him whatever he asks for purely because he is a literal angel, and he deserves the world. Ok, maybe it is a bit too dramatic, but the boy was indeed your angel in disguise.
Planning on following through with the advice Chan gave you, you called both Jeonghan and Jihoon simultaneously. As Jeonghan was busy, Jihoon accepted the work of going to the community welfare meeting instead of Seungcheol.
After that, the whole day was smooth sailing. But the main root of all your problems was happy, maybe not healthy, but the look of pure happiness and the twinkling eyes when he passed by your desk was hard to miss.
This man was slowly but surely making sure to strip you of your patience bit by bit.
--
The last straw to eradicating your already depleting patience came when Seungcheol in all his glory, during one of his nightly ‘Imma take away other’s jobs because sleep refuses to befriend me’ escapades, deleted all your assistant notes for the server by mistake.
You still are baffled as to how he did that. Truth be told so is he. He was scrolling away on his phone when he saw this reel about ‘how to increase your Wi-Fi speed.’ Extremely intrigued by it, he had actually tried to increase the internet speed in his house, and he swears on every god on planet earth it worked. So, he tried doing so with the one in his office, which weirdly enough resulted in removal of all the information that you had stored in your laptop.
Now if this would have happened to his computer, too, you would not have gotten as angry as you were, but the motherfucker’s computer was all well and good and if you actually pay attention, it seems that his internet speed has increased, too!
How this man become a CEO is beyond you. What is not so beyond is your pure hatred for him and his technologically challenged ass.
So that night when Seungcheol, stayed back as usual to do work, you took your chances, entered his office, and slammed a ball of yarn and two knitting needles on his table while scaring the life out of the, not so, poor man.
“Start knitting!” you calmly said.
“But I don’t know how to though!” he replies, thoroughly confused.
“Then learn, Seungcheol! I don’t care what you want to do, I need you to learn and pick up a hobby, start gaming, try knitting anything! Just make sure you are not trying to turn the office upside down.”
Anyone who knows Seungcheol also knows never to question his nightly routines, but more than that, they also know the pride of the man is too high to ever accept his mistake. So, when you commit the grave crime of pointing out his mishap with the Wi-Fi router that morning, you hit the nail on the head and pissed him to the fucking moon.
“So, you think I’m bad at what I do?!”
“No, I think you are technically inept. And you should leave it to people who are good at it.”
This pisses off Seungcheol more than anything, but you don’t let him intervene as you keep speaking.
“On top of that you are constantly making changes in your schedule without informing me. You’re your assistant. Maybe have you ever considered the fact that your schedule was made so that your day is smooth sailing, and no two activities overlap!”
“Just because you refuse to go to a doctor and try and find a way to manage your stress does not mean you make the workplace hell for us.”
By the end of your rant, you were fuming and Seungcheol was stunned.
Clearing his throat, he says awkwardly, “I’m sorry you feel so, I will try and fix my schedule.”
Now, although this statement made you feel better, it also confused you, as you were fully prepared to have a full-blown fight with the man. Him backing down was never an option. But now that it has happened, you muttered a small, “I shall be going then”, to which your boss meekly nodded.
After you were outside, you ended up feeling better due to unloading all your anger on the man. It was refreshing. Now you just needed to see what changes tomorrow will bring for Seungcheol.
--
It had been two months since you had the argument with Seungcheol, more like your single woman shouting spree. But things have been better. He has tried to keep his need for new experiences down and this has made your life exponentially easier.
Did you now have time to eat. Absolutely not!
But the office was not a nightmare anymore.
If someone would have told you five months ago that this is what your future held for you, you would have straight up laughed at their face and told them to get themselves checked. But life has weird ways of throwing you in situations you don’t expect yourself to be in, and you have no other ways of getting out but learn to go with the flow.
You sometimes talk to Jun and Seokmin, and you have realized you got the hardest of all the jobs.
You asked Jeonghan about it once and his answer was, “because I can and its fun!”
So here you are sitting on the couch with Seokmin while enjoying your sandwich when you see Seungcheol come outside carrying a bag, Jeonghan trailing behind him sporting this devilish look on his face.
The big man walks towards you and hands you the bag. Opening it you notice a green scarf sitting at the bottom.
“Seungcheol’s first knitting creation, and he says thank you for forcing him to learn knitting. It helps him sleep now.” Jeonghan says while pointing at the bag even before the older man could open his mouth.
Seokmin tries to make himself as invisible as possible while looking extremely interested in the whole situation unfolding in front of him.
Seungcheol waves his hands at Jeonghan trying to hush him down and whines, “let me speak!”
“I made this cause you told me it would help me sleep! I didn’t think it could actually help me, but it looks like it did, so I’m extremely thankful for your suggestion.”
“Good job!” Jeonghan says, patting Seungcheol’s head like he was a child, making you laugh a bit.
“Thank you for listening to me, sir!”
“Oh, no, call him by his name, or else he will become weird with you again!” Jeonghan says, making you laugh again. Seungcheol pouts at both of you and storms back to his office, with Jeonghan at his tail making fun of him yet again.
After that, you kept the bag in your desk and went to bid your friend goodbye.
“He looked like he was confessing to his crush, you know”, Seokmin muses.
“Maybe he has a crush on you!” He exclaimed after pausing for a moment.
“I don’t, he is a weird person,” you had replied thoughtfully.
Realizing he has been chatting with you for a long time, Seokmin quickly rushes outside while loudly screaming a ‘goodbye’ for the whole building to hear.
When you came back to your desk, Jeonghan was waiting for you there. The man just looked at you with a smirk and said, “see you later y/n, and make sure to wear the scarf!”
Jeonghan is a weird person. You more often than not don’t listen to what he tells you to do. He forces you to do them anyways.
“Seriously, lady, do wear the scarf. Plus, it’s cold outside—you won’t get a heatstroke if you do so.”
With that he was outside of the office, too. Slowly work caught up with you and you forgot about the scarf altogether.
--
That evening, as you were finishing up at work and preparing to leave, you grabbed the scarf that had been gifted to you and wrapped it around your neck before stepping out of the office.
Unbeknownst to you, the man who had given you the scarf felt a rush of joy upon seeing you wear it. Concealing his flushed cheeks, he quietly followed you out and spontaneously invited you to join him for dinner, explaining that he had given Seokmin the night off and now was in extreme need of a dinner companion, as Seokmin would fill in that position on most nights. It was unusual for him to make such a request, but you were both hungry and couldn't resist the offer of a free meal, even if it was from someone as harmless as him.
"So, what do you think?" Seungcheol asked as the two of you sat at the ramen shop waiting for your orders.
"About what?" You replied, genuinely puzzled by his question.
"Didn't you read the letter?" He asked, his face turning even redder as he mentioned it.
"What letter?" You responded, glancing around until Seungcheol nodded towards the bag in which he gave you the scarf, looking inside you noticed an envelope that matched the interior perfectly sitting at the bottom.
"Oh! I can read it now," you exclaimed.
"Don't worry about it right now," he interjected as the waiter arrived with your bowls of ramen.
Despite his reluctance to discuss the letter further, your curiosity only grew stronger after he dropped you off at your doorstep. Once inside your home, you wasted no time in retrieving the letter from your bag. Its contents filled you with excitement like never before.
The following day at the office, you placed another letter on Seungcheol's desk before getting on with your usual tasks, eager to see his reaction.
--
"So, let me get this straight—you've been dating our boss for the past month?" Exclaimed Jun, eyes wide with disbelief.
"Why didn't you tell us sooner? How did this even happen?!" Chimed in Seokmin, equally stunned by the news.
As soon as you revealed your relationship with Seungcheol, you found yourself bombarded with a flurry of questions from your friends. It was amusing to witness their sheer astonishment, and yet, deep down, it felt incredibly rewarding to share this surprising news with them.
What started as a casual hangout quickly transformed into a lively interrogation session, with your friends firing off all sorts of curious inquiries. Most pressing among them was the question:
“How and when did all of this happen?!”
You couldn't blame them for their curiosity. It seemed like just yesterday that you had kidnapped Seungcheol off the street instead of his friend Mingyu, which resulted in Jeonghan gaining the perfect opportunity to bully you both half to death. And let's not forget the hell and back experience you were subjected to from Seungcheol himself, the man who had once resorted to extreme tactics to get you to quit as he was reminded of the oh so humiliating experience he went through every time he saw your face. But somehow, it all worked out in the end, and you couldn't be happier about how it turned out.
Near the end of your gathering, you couldn't resist the urge to pull out your phone and reveal the most treasured image in your gallery: a photograph capturing two pieces of paper resting on a desk. One paper bore a lengthy paragraph, while the other simply displayed a single, bold sentence:
"Take me out on a proper date first!"
The photo encapsulated perfectly how you both worked so well with each other. It was a sweet reminder of how unexpectedly love can bloom in the most unconventional of circumstances.
As your friends marveled at the photo, you couldn't help but reflect on how far you and Seungcheol had come in such a short time. Despite the initial hurdles and challenges you faced with the man, you were grateful for the bond you now shared—a relationship built on laughter, friendship, and, of course, a bit of unexpected romance.

synopsis: seungcheol's overthinking causes his protective side to show a bit.
Seungcheol's List
As I was watching my wife walk to her car while shivering from the cold and walking in a cute way, I realized that she's not a very intimidating person, or at least to me she wasn't. If people saw her the way I do, they'd think she was kind of innocent or naive, aka an easy target and that's something I didn't really want or like.
This was something I wondered about pretty often seeing how she acts whenever she's with me. She's always very playful or happy, which isn't bad but again it makes me wonder if people see her as an easy target. I often tell her to make sure she doesn't look like an easy target, to be aware of her surroundings, and a bunch of different things to make sure she'll be safe whenever she decides to go out alone. It's a rare occasion but it does happen sometimes.
But as I watch her walk on the curb in front of me to get to her car, I wonder if she actually takes my advice when she's alone. My heart slowly feels like it's dropping down as the realization hits me that she's going out alone and people might think she's an easy target. Someone could try slipping something in her drink when she’s not looking, they could see her getting out of her car alone and follow her around, so many things could go wrong.
I catch up to her as she continues walking towards her car. She looks back when she hears my footsteps getting closer to her and smiles at me brightly as I stop in front of her.
"Did I forget something?" She tilts her head in wonder. I stare at her, debating in my head if I would sound overprotective if I talk to her about my worries. I shake my head with a small smile.
"You didn't forget anything. Just wondering if you'd like me to go with you?" I suggested to her. She hums thinking about my offer.
"You're gonna go with me to the club, when it's supposed to be girl's night? Even Niki, Minah, and Cami  are going by themselves," She pouts at me.
I scratch the back of my neck nervously. "I don't mind, I'll just go to the bar until you're done."
She looks at me curiously before asking, "Is there a reason why you want to go? I don't mind you coming with me, y'know? I love you and will never be bothered by your presence, but it just seems really random for you to wanna come with me."
As she told me this, I started to feel guilt pooling in my stomach. Here I am, disturbing her time with her friends when she never really sees them in person due to their schedule and even locations not matching, since most of them tend to travel often. Not only that but she also never really asks to go to guys' night out unless the girls will be there too. I don't want to be the reason why she ends up not having as much fun if I tell her my reasoning.
"No, there's no reason. I just wanted to go out with you. Just feeling a little off right now." I explained. Because I'm afraid something could happen to you but I don't wanna ruin your night out.
She laughs then grabs my arm and starts dragging me back to our home. I let her drag me despite knowing I could just stay in place if I wanted to.
"Why are we going back to the house?" I asked her. She looks back at me to shush me before opening the front door. She kicks off her black heels and looks down at my shoes, hinting at me to take off my shoes as well. I sigh in fake exasperation before kicking off my shoes.
She continues dragging me through the house all the way to our bedroom before stopping in front of the bed. She turns around and grabs my shoulders before moving me to stand in front of the bed while facing her. She pushes my shoulders down so that I'd sit down and I comply.
"Sooo, what's happening?" I hesitantly ask her. She walks to our shared closet ignoring my question. I hear her rummaging through the clothes as she hums to herself.
She walks out of the closet with some clothes in her hands, that look awfully a lot like mine, and drops it on the bed next to me. Before looking at me with her arms on her hips.
"If you're coming with me, I get to choose what you're wearing and you're wearing that outfit," She nodded towards the pile, she unceremoniously plopped right next to me.
I look at her questioningly. She sighs before explaining her actions.
"Every time we go to the club, girls flock all over you and it makes me wanna stay next to you. But if we match, maybe it'll ward them off!" She reasons with a smile, thinking her plan was brilliant.
"But, I mean, wouldn't a lot of people match with us? You didn't choose anything specific," I tell her as I look through the clothes. Her face scrunches up in confusion.
"What do you mean? It's unique! We're both wearing black turtleneck shirts, brown bottoms, and black shoes!" She argues, frowning at me.
I admit that the turtlenecks are unique but I don't think people would really notice that at the club. I just smile slightly at her and nod my head quietly, not wanting her to destroy the closet to look for clothes.
"You're sure, you're alright with me disrupting girl's night?" I asked her, concerned that she may be hiding her feelings from me. Like what I'm currently doing. I'm a hypocrite.
She walks to me and squeezes herself between my thighs before wrapping her arms around my neck. She pecks my forehead and lays her forehead against my own with her eyes closed.
"Of course, I'd want you there. You always make me feel safe, knowing that you're there to help me out when I need you," She says quietly. I bring my arms up from my sides to wrap them around her waist. She seems so fragile to me as I hold her like this. I inhale deeply to calm my worries about her going out. Breathing in her scent helped me be at ease a lot. The guilt in me seemed to fade away and the nagging voice in my head quieted down.
I pulled away from the hug a bit to look up at her from my seat, as she opened her eyes and looked down at me. I could feel her fingers playing with the ends of my hair by my neck. I resisted the urge to close my eyes and just let her play with my hair.
“I, uh, the reason why I wanted to go was because I was overthinking. It occurred to me that I don’t really know how you are in public when I’m not around and I just thought that, maybe, you don’t take the advice I gave you about when you’re in public,” I looked away embarrassed that I was thinking kind of poorly of my own wife. Her fingers stopped playing with my hair and she took her hands away. I tried my best to not show that I wanted her to continue. She put her hands on my face and turned it to make me look at her in the eyes.
“I hope you know that I do take your advice seriously. You told me that when I’m in public, I need to show that I’m not an easy target, so I pretend to be tough,” She remarks with a stern face. It was quiet for a bit after her declaration. Until I started to chuckle a bit and eventually turned into full on laughs.
She looks at me with a pout on her face, somewhat offended that I was laughing at what she said. “What’s so funny, huh??”
I continued laughing, thinking of her being “tough” in public. Her being tough didn’t seem like it would fit on her, especially with what I know about her. She was the equivalent to a baby kitten trying to be tough. When they hiss and glare at you but they’re not scary at all, if anything it’s just cute to watch.
“I said to be aware of your surroundings and try not to look like you’re an easy target, not to be tough. I don’t think tough is in your vocabulary anyways,” I answered her, after my laughter seemed to calm down. She takes her hands away completely as she pouts and attempts to back away from me, but my arms were wrapped around her so she couldn’t get very far.
“Lemme gooo, I don’t like you anymore. You’re making fun of me when all I’m trying to do is make you feel better,” She mumbled. I shook my head at her and buried my face in her stomach. She starts squealing andlaughing because her stomach is ticklish. She squirms around trying to get away from me but my grip around her was too tight. I lift my face up from her stomach and look at her with a smile, happy to hear her laugh and see her smile. She pants a little as she calms down from the small tickling session.
“So, did you still wanna come with me? Like I said before I don’t mind you being there, as long as you’re ok with being with us girls,” She probed.
“The girls won’t be mad I’m crashing your girls’ night?” I thought of how they might react. They don’t seem like the type to get mad, but they definitely would make fun of me.
“Of course they won’t be mad, they’re just gonna bother you to be our waiter basically,” She beamed at me. I sigh and shake my head with a smile before agreeing to go with her. She cheers and wiggles from side to side doing her little happy dance in my arms. I let my arms unwrap from around her waist. She goes to the side of the bed and lays down on it. I questioned what she was doing and her response was “watching my free show” and motions towards me and the pile of clothes.
I laugh at her silliness but do what she wants and get ready in front of her. She starts catcalling me when I start changing my clothes which I proceeded to flip her off. After that she gets up and heads to the living room to go call the girls and tell them there was a slight change in plans. I could overhear her talking to them a bit and heard her mentioning she was bringing me with her because she wanted me there because she misses me. Hiding the fact that I was the one who wanted to go because I was worried about her.
I smiled to myself as I continued to listen to her and the girls’ conversation. They were getting on her for bringing a guy to girls’ night but she didn’t seem to care. I thought it was cute of her to cover up the reason why she was bringing me and that she was taking the blame for me. She didn’t have to but she probably didn’t want me to be embarrassed. I finished getting ready and headed out to the living room where she was. Her back was towards me as she continued conversing. I snuck behind her and wrapped my arms around her and put my head on her shoulder.
“See you soon,” I say into Kaya’s phone. I hear the girls all start talking at once and hang up the phone. Kaya turns around and looks up and down at me checking the outfit she made me wear before nodding in content.
“You look sooo good,” She pokes my stomach. I grab her hand and start dragging her the way she did to me.
“Come on, it’s time to go head over to the girls,” I tell her. She laughs and moves her arm so that our fingers are interlocked instead.
“I call passenger princess!”

Sipping on your third glass of red wine, you relax your back on the white couch in the middle of the living room.
It's already Wednesday, but you feel like your week is just starting. Work is getting tough at this time of the school year and you're just glad that you're already home at this hour.
After dimming the lights using a master remote control, you open the TV and play the series that you've been watching since last week. You don't have the patience to watch a TV series, but boredom got the best of you.
But you're amazed that the show is actually interesting and now you unexpectedly get why everyone likes it.
Hugging the fluffy gray throw pillow on your side, your nose suddenly catches a familiar scent.
Jude's…
And automatically, your thoughts bring you to the last time he was there on the very spot you're sitting on right now. Your cheek burns when you remember how many times Jude took you that night on that white couch.
The way he settles his large hand around your neck... The way he bites your shoulder as he spoons and enters you from behi—
"Ugh. Stop it, Reese!" You reprimand yourself as you sip on your glass again.
Biting your lower lip, you press your thighs together as you try to resist the ache that's starting to pound in between your legs. You shake your head disapprovingly. It's baffling how by just the whiff of his scent that he left on the pillows, your body is already reacting like this.
The truth is… As much as you don't want to admit it, what you feel for him is already more than the physical and it's driving you crazy because you can't tell that to him. You're afraid that all of these will end in a flash if you decide to confess what you really feel for him.
You even miss him so badly right now. It's been three weeks since the last time you saw him, and you think you're ridiculous for feeling this way for someone who just thinks of you as his fuck buddy.
You sigh as you focus your eyes on what you are watching, but you already can't deny the nagging sensation that you're feeling down there to even make sense of what's happening on the show.
Then suddenly the main characters on the show start making out. Their moans fill the spaces of your living room and that causes you to lose the war going in between your legs.
Sliding your hands to one of your thighs, you are about to touch yourself when you hear a very familiar voice, causing you to jerk from your seat.
"Let me."
"What the f—How...You're here…" Are the only words that you can make up when you see Jude standing on the side of the couch just wearing a white shirt and gray sweatpants.
And even with dimmed lights, you can see his biceps flex as he crosses his arms.
You gulp.
Why is he here? It's not yet his rest day?
Still confused, you stand from the couch and walk towards the glass window, and pretend to look at the city lights outside.
"Why are you here?" You must look and sound like an idiot, but what the heck? Did he see what you were about to do?
And what does he mean by "Let me"?
Of course, you're not dumb. You know what he meant, but you're just too embarrassed to even admit that to yourself and your flushed cheeks are the evidence of that.
On the side of your eye, you watch him stand beside you. He starts to watch you intently as a small smile makes its way to his lips.
"My shoot was canceled," he replies as if that alone can answer your question why he's here.
Well, he owns this place, but it's just strange to see him on a weekday.
He suddenly reaches for your hair that's almost covering your glasses and tucks it behind your ear. "That's better "
You can feel your heart beating erratically inside your chest when he starts to stroke the top of your head, stopping to hold the start of your little ponytail, then gently letting his hand down to the end of your hair.
He does it again, making sure his fingertips touch your nape, causing you to feel a subtle shiver down your spine.
You bite your lower lip and grab on your robe as you stifle a moan. Stopping his actions, he smirks as he puts his hand back inside his pocket.
He knows it turns you on when he does that.
You glare at him, but he mirrors it with his full smile, knowing fully well that it's the smile that takes you on one hell of a ride every damn time.
He then licks his lips as he looks at you from head to toe and you can't help but curse yourself because his effect on you is not like this before.
He then tries to catch your gaze, and when he finally locks eyes with you, he swiftly lays his hands on your shoulder before gently pushing you against the glass window.
Swallowing the lump that's forming inside your throat, you look up at him as he places one of his hands on the glass just beside your head before leaning down near your ear.
"I missed you."
You gulp again.
Fuck. Why is he saying things like that? I might get the wrong idea!
He then proceeds to lick your earlobe before leaving butterfly kisses on your cheeks, making your already hazy brain drunker because of his kisses.
You close your eyes tightly.
Gosh. I missed him too.
"Hmmm…" you whimper as you grasp both sides of his shirt.
Hearing you let out a soft moan, he breathes raggedly as he takes your lips in yearning, urgent kisses as his hands slide from your shoulders down to your waist.
You can't count how many times you did this with him anymore, but tonight it feels...different. The way he touches your skin is different. Even his kisses are different…
You just don't know if it's a good thing or not...
Pushing those thoughts away, you wrap your arms around his neck as you pull him down to deepen the kiss. You then feel one of his hands travel down your thighs, underneath the skirt of your nightie.
You gasp when his hand starts digging into your panties and desperately reaching your wetness.
"Baby… You're already wet," he whispers against your mouth as he parts your thighs more so he can brush his long, sturdy fingers on your heat properly.
"F-Fuck," you curse as you dig your nails into his shoulders, causing him to groan loudly.
He nibbles on your lower lip as he dips his two digits inside your core, forcing shocked moans out of you.
Quickening the pace of his fingers, he leaves your lips and starts biting your jawline gently as you moan his name over and over again.
Without even wasting any time, he wraps one arm around you before lifting you, prompting you to hold onto his shoulders for dear life as he takes wide steps forward and spreads you across the bar counter just near the living room as if you're his favorite meal ready to be devoured.
"What the hell, Jude?" you blurt out, but it's as if he can't hear you anymore.
He pauses to gaze at you, his eyes darkening with desire—and something else that you can't put a name to—before he takes off his shirt, making you stare at his lean and delicious abs with your mouth agape.
Smirking because of your reaction, he gets a foil pack from his pocket before pulling down his sweatpants to let out his throbbing, hard length.
You watch Jude take his shaft and stroke it before he quickly rips the foil pack using his teeth to match your quickening breath.
He then hovers over you as you plant your both hands on the quartz stone countertop. With hasty but gentle hands, he undoes the knot of your robe and quickly gets rid of everything that's covering you.
He then closes the distance between your lips and begins to kiss you passionately like he did last time as he gently caresses both of your breasts with your heart racing inside your chest.
His kisses slowly go down from your lips to the column of your neck until it reaches the valley of your breasts. Leaving small love bites, he finds your left nipple and sucks on it.
"Jude… M-More—" you moan out as you throw your head back.
He smiles against your skin as he continues to lick and suck on your buds.
"Please...P-Please…" You beg him, grabbing onto his hair, desperately needing to feel all of him.
Jude stops his movements but stays in his position. "Please, what? Tell me exactly what you want, Baby."
His thumb then starts to rub on your clit as he waits for your answer.
"Uhhhmm… I… I need… I-I want you inside me," you say in between moans and whimpers.
"Is that really what you want?" he asks again, not stopping his movements in your heat.
You nod vigorously as you feel your first release. "Y-yes... W-wait! Ahhh...I'm coming!"
You almost protest when he suddenly stops his work on your clit, but it's automatically replaced with a high-pitched moan when he suddenly AND aggressively strokes his shaft against your womanhood, making your legs shake as you ride your first climax.
Jude smiles down at you before he leans down to kiss your forehead. "Good girl."
You are trying to steady your breathing when you notice him adjusting himself to prepare to enter you as he parts your legs wider, putting your right leg on one of his shoulders.
He then places both of his hands on the countertop to steady himself before he gently pushes his length inside of you.
You both moan out as you feel him stretching you from the inside.
"Fuck, Resse…" Jude grunts as he slides in and out of you with such ease when you get used to his massive length.
"Harder… Faster…" you plead as you clasp the edge of the countertop because of how intense his thrusts are.
You just need more of him, even if it's just like this. Even if it's just "sex" for him…
Following your plea, he puts down your leg on his shoulder and places both of your legs around his waist before pulling you near him.
He looks at you longingly as he removes the hair that's covering your face, urging you to wrap your arms around his neck.
He then suddenly jerks his hips forward and pumps his shaft just the way you asked for it—harder and faster.
He then rests his face on the nook of your neck as you both feel your oncoming climax, both of your bodies passionately pounding against each other in the heat of the moment.
"Cum with me, Baby," he commands as he rocks his hips faster, making your legs quake in anticipation.
Sounds of wild moaning and slaps of skin fill the living room as both of you refuse to dive on the edge without the other.
Jude releases himself in the rubber while still deep inside of you while you scream his name along with other profanities as you climax along with him.
He collapses on top of you, but his strong arms are still trying to balance both of your bodies as you also try hard to catch your breath.
Jude then kisses your temple, longer than usual.
Damn. He hasn't even done that before.
"I'll be gone to Europe in two weeks. I don't think I can handle not seeing you that long…Can you please come with me?"
end~~
I'd really appreciate it if you leave short feebacks or just re-blog this post 🥰💕 Thanks for reading!

MING CHAPTER WHERE MEMBERS BECOME CERY PROTECTIVE OF HER 🥺 i love seeing how much they care for her
here you go, love! i hope you enjoy it and thank you for the request!
Personal Space, Please | Ming Chapter
Tumblr media
October, 2020
"Everyone's here? Great, we can start then! We'll begin with unit shoots, who's going first?" The photographer looked from the complete group to their manager.
His eyes first landed on Hoshi. "The 96z will start." Jun, Wonwoo, Hoshi and Woozi got up from their seats and took off their jackets to begin the shoot. Meanwhile the rest of the members waited and cheered them on.
Ming was getting her makeup retouched when a male staff member approached her. "Ming-ssi, do you need something warm? It's quite cold here outside."
She figured he was part of the photographer's staff, since she didn't recognise him. "I'm fine, thank you." She declined, not feeling that cold.
"If you need anything, you can always ask me." He said, before bowing his head and walking away.
"Do you know him, unnie?" Ming asked her stylist, while she fixed her eyeshadow. She shook her head. "No, I don't think he's with us."
"HOSHI SEXY!"
Ming's mind got taken away from the staff member and was brought back to the photoshoot happening in front of her.
"Guys, there's a change of units, the maknaes and 95z will shoot together." Their manager announced, looking up from his phone.
They all looked up confused. "Why?"
"Otherwise we don't have enough time for the full group shoot." He explained, typing away on his phone.
They all nodded, not minding it very much. "And fans will like it either way, the youngest with the oldest, that always gets well received." Their manager said, smiling at the members.
"It's okay, hyung." Coups said, letting him know it was alright.
"I really like the dress they picked out for you." Her attention shifted back to her stylist, who seemed finished with touching up her makeup.
Ming looked at the dress, it wasn't too short on her, but it wasn't long either. "I like it too, something different."
"Alright, next unit, please." The photographer announced, loudly. Mingyu, Dokyeom and Minghao got up as the manager looked at them.
Ming looked to her right and saw the male staff member from before on his phone. Normally, she wouldn't think anything of it, but the camera was held at quite a weird angle and when she looked in his direction, he almost dropped his phone.
She turned her head back to the photoshoot, but she couldn't get that weird interaction out of her mind. She signalled to their manager to come over. "What's up?"
"That guy on the right there, who's holding his phone, he's kind of behaving weird. I think he was filming me." The manager subtly looked at who she meant, but he wasn't holding his phone at that moment. "Probably a bit starstruck to see you, but we'll keep an eye on it." He told her, giving her an assuring smile.
"Thank you."
After a while, it was her unit's turn to be photographed for the magazine. The photographer instructed the members to lay down on the ground next to each other in a circle formation. They all did as he said and lied down on the ground.
"Hey, what's that guy doing?" Mingyu noticed the male staff member holding his phone at quite a weird angle, it seemed to be pointed at the young female. The others looked to where Mingyu was looking and were confused as to what he was doing. "Is he taking pictures of Yerim?" Woozi asked.
As she was too busy with the shoot, Ming didn't notice her dress had ridden up a bit. However, the mysterious male staff member did and wasn't going to let the opportunity slip to take a picture of it.
"I think he is." Mingyu said, already getting up along with Wonwoo and Hoshi. They moved themselves in front of Ming behind the camera, so they were blocking the guy's camera.
The others who stayed seated alerted their manager. "Hyung, that guy behind the members is taking pictures under Ming's dress." Dokyeom informed him, pointing at the man in question.
He nodded and made his way over to the man. The manager could already see the guy slightly panicking and saw him doing some things on his phone, before putting it in his pocket.
"You're not taking pictures of the artists, right?" He asked him, still trying to sound professional. The guy shook his head. "No, no, I wasn't, I was just on my phone." He tried excusing himself.
Their manager nodded, not believing it for one bit. "Can I check it, you know, so there are no misunderstandings?" He already had a feeling the guy had deleted the pictures, but it was worth trying.
He hesitated for a bit, stuttering inaudible words, before typing his password and giving the manager the phone. His suspicions were correct and there were no pictures of Ming or any other member present on his phone.
He handed him his phone back. "Thank you, we have to be careful, we don't want any issues for our artists." He hoped by coming up to the guy, he would get the message and stop bothering Ming.
He made his way back to the members. "I checked his phone, but there were no pictures on there." He told them.
"The bastard deleted them." Woozi commented, giving the guy a glare. "Poor thing, she can never catch a break with these perverts." Minghao said, feeling bad that it was always Ming who had to deal with these kinds of situations.
"Alright, that's good, thank you," the photographer put his camera down, "let's retouch the makeup, change the set and then we'll do the group shots." He instructed the teams around him.
Mingyu had grabbed Ming's coat and covered her while she got up, so no inappropriate pictures could be taken anymore. "Yerim-ie, the guy was taking pictures of you while you lied down." Wonwoo told her, helping her up.
She furrowed her eyebrows. "What?" She looked around the set, but the guy wasn't anywhere near in sight.
"What do you mean taking pictures of her?" Cheol joined them, overhearing what Wonwoo told her. "While you guys were on the ground, a male staff member was holding his phone at quite a weird angle. The manager went up to him, but he had already deleted the pictures by the time he got to him." Wonwoo explained to them.
"Where is he?" The leader asked, looking around the set. "He doesn't seem to be here right now." Mingyu and Ming chorused.
"Yerim-ie, come here for a second, let me fix your makeup." Her stylist called her over. Ming nodded and made her way over. "A bit more powder, your forehead was a little shiny in the pictures." Her stylist explained, putting some more powder on her forehead. "Well, I am a star." Ming commented sarcastically, making the older woman laugh.
As the two women continued chatting, they failed to notice a figure creeping up on them. Ming did feel someone walking behind her, but she couldn't move as her stylist was retouching her makeup.
"Hey!"
All of a sudden, there was a commotion happening. A bunch of members surrounded her, there was yelling, a broken phone on the floor.
She felt arms around her shoulder and on her back guiding her away from the set, looking next to her she saw Jeonghan and Minghao. "What happened?" She asked then, totally confused. "That guy was filming under your dress." Jeonghan answered, voice thick with anger. "Coups-hyung pushed him away from you." Minghao mumbled, just focused on getting her as far away from the scene as possible.
Ming looked at him in shock, not expecting that that was what the commotion was about. "He pushed him?" She asked them.
"He wanted to push the phone out of his hand, but he was standing very close to you, and… yeah." Jeonghan tried explaining to her.
They made their way to the dressing room, since it was empty and quiet. Despite the frustrations and anger they felt, Jeonghan and Minghao remained calm on the outside. If they remained calm about the situation, Ming would remain calm.
"He's not going to get in trouble, is he?" She asked them, not wanting their leader to receive a scolding by the company. "Don't worry about that, Ming-ah." Jeonghan told her, not wanting her to feel bad about anything.
The door of the dressing room opened, revealing Vernon, Chan, Seungkwan, Dokyeom and Jun. "Here's your coat." Chan hands it to her. "Thanks."
Dokyeom immediately sat by Ming's side, checking up on her. "You're okay?" He's too sweet, honestly. She nodded. "Yeah, I didn't really know what was happening." She told him. He gave the younger one a hug, knowing it would give both of them some comfort.
"Security took the guy away." Seungkwan informed the three members. They all nodded, relief going through their bodies that he wasn't there anymore.
A couple minutes later, the rest of the members walked in. There was an obvious tension in the room that none of the members dared to speak on. It was a truly rare sight.
Woozi scratched his voice. "The guy had a video on his phone, but it's gone now," he starts off, "and the shoot is canceled, so grab your stuff and we can go home." The members moved at his words and started gathering their belongings to make a quick getaway.
Their staff had also made their appearance and started packing all the makeup, hair products and clothes that they had needed for the shoot. Ming had also seen their manager briefly, but he didn't really seem in the mood to talk.
Mingyu, Cheol, Wonwoo and Ming got into their car together. There was a silence present in the car that Mingyu tried to fill up by talking about this new camera that he had bought. Eventually, Mingyu and Wonwoo fell asleep since it was quite late at night and it had been a hectic day.
Ming stared out of the window, deeply sinking into her thoughts. A hand against her arm brings her out of her trance. "Hey, little one." She looks at Cheol, giving him a tired smile. "Hi"
"How are you feeling?" He asked her, realizing he hadn't been able to talk to her since the 'incident'.
She shrugged her shoulders. "I'm just tired, I want to forget today." She told him, being honest about her feelings.
"You're not alone," he said, "I hope I didn't scare you, I don't know what came over me." She could hear the guilt in his voice and could see it in his eyes, it broke her heart to think he thought she would be scared of him.
"I could never be scared of you," she grabbed his hand, "I just don't want you to get in trouble, oppa."
"You're more important to me than the company, Yerim."

❪ 🎐 ❫ RELATIONSHIP WITH
seungcheol, jeonghan, joshua
Tumblr media Tumblr media
seungcheol & minji -> cheolmi
popularity rating: 95%
type of relationship: old friends
as the oldest two members in seventeen and leader and co-leader, they have a huge responsibility on their shoulders in their everyday life. in the co-ed group, seungcheol and minji both take on the "parental" roles in the group. need options or advice? go to them. seungcheol, being six days older than her, believes that minji shouldn't put to much pressure on that "pretty face" and "pretty body" of hers. 100% her simp in everything she does. she needs new clothing? he's buying it for her. she looked at expensive shoes for 0.0001 seconds? he bought them for her. she's ordering food? she can put it on his card. to anyone who isn't stanning seventeen, people would've thought he was her sugar daddy or husband at that point.
though every single relationship has it ups and downs, platonic or not. even if it was a single mistake or a huge mistake, they get into arguments that lead to minji out of the room and drive to her private apartment. days or weeks can pass without a single dialogue passed forward between them and it would take the members to force them to work it out; the members don't want their towers of support crashing down on each other. after a few moments of silence between seungcheol and minji, she would eventually burst into tears and hugs would be exchanged between them, whispering apologies. being held to the responsibilities with many members to take care of, it's no doubt they've leaned on each other in moments of despair and pain.
occurring moments between them include: sitting together, a protective hand on the knee / thigh / waist, not having to lift a finger because he'll do it, drinking out together, and special dinners at high expensive restaurants.
a song that represents them: cuff it - beyonce

ever since minji entered the green room and introduced herself, he couldn't help but feel that she was going to be stuck up as she had transferred from a higher agency. but he later came to find out that she wasn't and she never used that towards her advantage. though people claim that jeonghan might be the better fit as the parental figure of the group alongside coups, minji doesn't mind sharing that role with him as all moms do need a break. before she introduced her birthdate, jeonghan believed that she had to be younger than him and kept pushing her to call him "oppa" when she referred to him. minji, confused by this as a foreigner and that she was older than him, eventually asked for his birthday and jeonghan soon came to realize how wrong he really was. embarrassment was written all over his face in that moment, but they later laugh it off in the following days.
throughout the years, minji and jeonghan have always supported each other and are each other’s number one priority. due to that, they’ve had intimate moments and jeonghan became minji’s first everything. these two had a cute friendship throughout the years minji was dating other people, but jeonghan couldn’t stop himself from feeling jealousy. he would go to the rest of the members ranting to them about his love problems. when minji would later break up with her ex-partners, the pair would go back to normal. the female member would realize the perfect person in front of her.
100% trouble makers along with joshua, and seem to almost break seungcheol's limit. they prank the other members with absurd plans and some how none of them decide to separate them from each other. though jokes aside, when minji is more emotional than ever, jeonghan is the best person to go to. jeonghan is often referred to the "emotional support hyung" and minji is first in line to receive comfort. but even jeonghan has his moments, and minji is thought of first when he looks for reassurance.
occurring moments between them include: giggling 25/8, building lego sets + buying lego sets, their trips to paris, tormenting seungcheol, baking cakes, secret visits to her house, romantic getaways, talking to eachother in japanese, minji supporting cheating ❪ in games ❫ jeonghan, braiding each other’s hair, and decorating / putting stickers on their hair.

type of relationship: childhood friends
california hot guy & california hot girl. the LA duo.. the CALI duo.. these two are peas in a pod. when minji revealed that she lived in california, specifically los angeles, joshua couldn't help but be excited for another english speaker in the group and a person from home. to make matters more exciting, when they went to LA for their USA Tour, minji's mother literally screamed at the sight of joshua and went to immediately call his mother. turns out minji's mother and shua's mother knew each other as they were old friends during their high school years. the news only brought the two even more closer
they speak in english almost all the time and shua manages to throw in a bit of spanish from his high school requirement to take a foreign language. this only brought damage to minji's korean as she struggles a bit more with the language due to shua & vernon. both of them are huge prankers along with jeonghan and no one really knows how the three introverts of the 95 line managed to create chaos.
occurring moments between them include: talking in english, create chaos then leave as nothing happen, playing uno then raging when +4 comes out, deep talks, bracelet making

plot twist (seungcheol)
Tumblr media
pairing: seungcheol x fem!reader genre: fluff, romance, slight angst, friendstolovers!au, university!au warning: profanity wc: 3224
Is love really complicated or we’re the only ones who are making it seem as it is? An exasperated sigh escaped your lungs as you  looked up at the sky. There you were again at the rooftop of your dormitory building, trying to figure things out. Gaslighting yourself that you could do it in one sitting. But who were you kidding, though? Nevertheless, you needed the time—a breather, perhaps?
“I knew you’d be here.”
Your head immediately turned towards Seungcheol. There’s no way you wouldn’t recognize that deep voice. Even with your eyes closed, you already knew it was him.
“Cheol?” his name slipped from your tongue the moment your eyes met with his gaze. He looked a bit worried from what his eyes could tell. “How did you know I was here?”
“Am I disturbing you?”
You chuckled, shaking your head.
“No. Not really.”
Exams were finally over and instead of going out to party just like everyone else did from your block, you went out to seek for peace. Seungcheol placed both of his hands inside of his pockets and looked up, letting out a sigh.
“The stars look beautiful tonight, don’t they?”
Your forehead creased at how random it came, but you wouldn’t disagree, though. You diverted your gaze towards the shining stars from above and nodded your head.
“They do…”
“Are you okay?”
Seungcheol noticed how faint your voice were when you replied. You turned your head towards where he stood and caught him already looking at you, his eyes meeting yours. There was a certain tension that his look held enough for you to avoid his gaze.
“I-I am…” you cleared your throat as you looked away. You forced a small chuckle that came out a bit awkward as you tried to ease the building chaos within you.
“Just tired, I guess?”
You heard him heave a sigh.
“I know, it must have been awkward for you…”
Your eyes automatically shut close at the thought of what happened as it flashes back to your mind.
“I shouldn’t have said that, right?” he asked, looking at you.
Mustering all your courage that you have in you, you stood up from your seat and took a step closer to where he stood—face to face. You looked into Seungcheol’s round eyes and without thinking twice, held his hand. He was taken aback by what you did that he slightly flinched at your touch.
There’s that undeniable spark. Just holding his hand was enough to send thousands of volts running through your spine.
“Stop blaming yourself, Cheol.”
“What?”
The look he was giving grew more intense the moment he asked that. You could only let out a small sigh.
“It took me a long time to realize and finally admit it. I was afraid this might happen and now the horror’s kicking in…” Seungcheol sounded so frustrated but he still managed let out a nervous laugh as he looked away in frustration.
You knew to yourself it was all your fault. It’s not like you don’t share the same feelings as him—you do. For goodness’ sake, you’re all about him. But there’s just one problem that you couldn’t get rid of. It’s not his fault nor anyone’s but yours. God knows how much it frustrates the heck out of you that you find it hard to risk everything again.
No, it’s not that hard to fall in love again. As a matter of fact, it’s as easy as counting from one to three. But what’s hard is stepping into a big decision as committing. Because it would mean putting yourself, your trust and your all at risk. You already did once and it left you into a complete mess. So messed up that even after it happened, you still can’t see yourself fully recovering from it.
“Cheol, there’s nothing wrong with you…” you said, trying to make him look back at you. “I’m the problem here. It’s all on me.”
“Is this because of what happened before?”
Your shoulders fell upon hearing that question. Even the thought of it makes your stomach churn. How the anxiety quickly rises as your chest starts to feel the familiar twinge of pain you have always tried to ease. See, you were young and naïve and everything about love felt foreign to you. All you ever knew was how much you loved that person that you didn’t realize you were seeing him through rose-colored glasses.
For what seemed like the nth time, you heard Seungcheol let out another sigh causing you to  look at him. If it wasn’t for all the shit you’ve been through leaving you so fucked up in the mind, none of these would have ever happened. Maybe giving him a chance would be as easy as knowing the words to your favorite song. Seeing him like this because of you made you hate yourself so much. He didn’t deserve any of these but it’s just the way it is. You still don’t feel deserving of what he’s offering.
“You’ve known me for years, Y/N-ah. I know what you’ve been through. Do you still think I’d let you go through all of these all over again?”
It was the same question that lingered into your mind. Seungcheol left after he convinced himself that the conversation was going nowhere. He left after telling you to just meet him at the Christmas fair. You let yourself get lost with your own thoughts and stayed for another hour or two—just sitting there and  letting your mind take control. So engrossed with whatever’s running round your head that you didn’t have any idea how the hell you found yourself standing in front of your dorm’s doorstep.
“Where have you been?”
It was the first thing you heard the moment you stepped into your dorm and was welcomed by Minjeong’s worried face.
“It’s already 2 in the morning. Who knows what could’ve happened to you?”
“Minjeong-ah, you sound just like my mom.”
You gave her a small smile, removing your coat. Minjeong has been your roommate since freshman year in college. Minjeong had both her hands placed on her tiny waist as she looked at you with questioning eyes.
“Yah, you didn’t answer my question!”
“Just somewhere.” you smirked, leaving her wondering.
“Seungcheol messaged me.”
It was enough to get your attention. You looked at Minjeong as you raised a brow at her.
“W-What did he say?”
Minjeong shrugged and flashed her phone right in front of you. Your eyes automatically ran through the whole conversation.
“He was just asking if you’re already here. Guess someone knew where you were all along.”
You could only let a small oh after that and slowly nodded your head. So even after you did him wrong, he still decided to check up on you. Seungcheol had always been like that towards you—always looking after you. He knew how far your parents were from you and you only have Minjeong, Seungcheol and his family in the city.
“We met earlier…”
“Hmm…” Minjeong uttered, guessing. “Why do I feel like something’s wrong between the two of you?”
There’s literally nothing you can hide from Minjeong. She just knows everything by just merely observing and there you were, the ever so transparent Han Y/N. Even if you don’t say a thing, Minjeong will always know.
“I know what’s up, you don’t even have to tell me.”
You let out a groan as you rolled your eyes.
“Fine, I like him too! It’s just that—“
“You’re scared.” Minjeong interrupted, finishing your sentence.
Exactly.
“I won’t blame you if you still are, Y/N. But this is Seungcheol we’re talking about. You’ve known him for years and know you longer than I do. You trust him more than you trust me. The two of you basically grew up together. What are you even afraid of?”
Two years ago, you fell in love with someone so deep that pulling yourself up felt too impossible. You thought he was the one just like how you wanted yourself to believe in. Turns out, everything was just a lie. You see, the thing about falling and being in love isn’t just about the rainbows and butterflies just like the old fairy tales told. It’s something beyond past that and there you were who all ever wanted was to love someone and be loved at the same extent.
“I just don’t want to have the same nightmare again. It’s all too much, Minjeong.”
A tear rolled down your cheek. Remembering all of it makes your heart ache. It’s the feeling you’ve been trying to bury at the back of your mind for months. Minjeong engulfed you into her arms and rubbed your back for comfort. A smile crossed your face as you hugged her back.
“It’s scary, I know. There are way too many reasons to be. But what if it works this time? After all, it’s Cheol…”
God, if only Minjeong knew it has always been your greatest what if. If only it had been Cheol at the very first time. Why does he have to come at such a wrong time? Not when you don’t feel so deserving of his love. You admit that you still weren’t at your best and still trying to redeem yourself from all the bad decisions you’ve made. It would seem unfair to him if you let him just like that and the extreme anxiety of ending up just hurting him just because you couldn’t solve your own issues.
However, thinking about it. Seungcheol has been there with you since day 1. Through your ups and downs, he always got you. He would always look after you—walk with you after class back in high school and even now in college whenever your schedules match, study with you during exams, listen to all your rants and even your gossip. Seungcheol never left your side no matter what phases you go through in life. There’s no doubt you grew liking him more than just a friend.
He understood you when nobody did, even yourself. He stayed with you during your darkest days, celebrated all your triumphs and never failed to make you understand that even the smallest achievements in life are something to be proud of. Choi Seungcheol is literally a walking green flag and though the idea of being with him sounds so irresistible, you just can’t.
Out of nowhere, your phone buzzed.
Cheol sent you a message.
Tumblr media
You stared at his message for a good minute before your fingers started tapping for a reply.
Tumblr media
A tch slipped from your lips, finding yourself smiling. You knew for a fact that Seungcheol has been looking forward to the Christmas Fair that the university’s going to hold tomorrow and you promised to be his date. After all, how can you say no to Choi Seungcheol?
Even after you rejected him, you find it somehow amazing how he’s not letting it affect whatever the both of you have. Like it didn’t hurt him at some point at all. But you knew how good he was at hiding his emotions sometimes. He’s always been so rational when it comes to things and even if things should be awkward right now, he managed to do shove it all away.
Tumblr media
And just like that, your phone rang.
“What?” he asked nonchalantly, causing you to frown.
“I just want to apologize…”
“For?”
“If lately I’ve been nothing but awkward towards you, I guess?”
You heard him sigh from the other line. There it was again—the disappointment that transpires with his sighs.
“I told you, it’s fine. Stop thinking about it already, Y/N.”
It was your turn to sigh, dropping your shoulders. God knows how bad you wanted to tell him how your really feel but the timing and situation seemed a bit inappropriate. It’s not something you just do over the phone.
“You’ll be there tomorrow, right?”
Seungcheol let out a small chuckle, can’t believe you for asking such nonsense questions.
“I’m your date, remember?”
“Right…” you replied as you tried to suppress the awkwardness your bringing in with a nervous laugh. “But you’d be busy, though?”
As far as you’re aware, Seungcheol is part of the organization committee that organizes the event. Perks of being a member of the council of the whole student body. No doubt he’s been busy lately. He’s been juggling his final exams while taking part in the said event.
“I don’t think so? I’m done with my part so I’m all yours tomorrow.”
Every year, the university holds its annual Christmas fair. It’s like a uni-wide fair where students can enjoy after examinations and before the holiday break. It’s also like a year-end celebration for everyone every holiday season.
“Aish, there are a lot of people…” you muttered under your breath as you squished yourself into the pool of people swarming around the area.
Food carts were everywhere, flocked by students trying to grab themselves some good stuff. And across the field was the stage where the bands are performing. All of a sudden, a pair of strong arms snaked around your waist, pulling you away from the crowd.
“Gotcha!”
“Yah!”
You lightly hit Seungcheol on the chest. You were pretty much startled by what he did, but good thing he got you out from the sea of people.
“You scared me, Choi Seungcheol.”
“Sorry about that.”
He flashed a boyish smile, scratching the back of his head while looking so apologetic. He looked cute, you won’t even deny it. And he looked really dashing even if he’s just in his casual clothes.
“How did you find me?”
In that huge amount of people you’re trying to get through, it would be really hard to find someone in the midst of the crowd. Not to mention, you’re not that tall of a person but then Choi Seungcheol begs to differ.
“You weren’t really hard to find, Y/N. I’d always find you, you know that.”
There’s really no point of denying the fact that it actually made your heart skip a beat. You caught him smiling at you like an idiot, still can’t believe how natural those words came out from his mouth. Guys are such talkers, aren’t they?
“Bet you haven’t eaten yet…” Seungcheol guessed, grabbing your hand before pulling you away with him again.
He lead you to their office (student affairs) after getting something to dig in from the food stalls outside. Their office was oddly empty when the both of you got there that led you to a presumption that the other officers must have been busy with the event.
“I was expecting this room to be a little… busy. Where’s everybody?”
“Out and about with their boy and girlfriends, I suppose?” Seungcheol replied, shrugging.
The two of you happily munched on your food. How can you not? It’s chicken wings!
“I’ve been hearing rumors that The Rose’s going to perform tonight, is that true?” you asked him out of the blue.
Truth is, you knew about that already. It’s just that the silence that surrounds both of you was killing you. You can’t afford a dead air between the two of you. Especially not with Seungcheol. It felt totally unfair to be that awkward when he’s around as you tried to kill your own thoughts just so you wouldn’t spoil the moment.
“Seems like everybody knows and you still don’t?” Seungcheol chuckled, messing up your hair a bit. He loves doing that as if he sees you as a puppy.
“Oh.”
“At exactly 9PM, I should think?” he replied as he glanced at his iWatch that read 8:14.
And when the clock ticked at 9, you found yourself in the middle of the school field with Seungcheol waiting for the set of The Rose. After a few minutes of waiting, Beauty and the Beast began to play.
All throughout the performance, everyone was drowning in the beautiful melody filling the air. Seungcheol stood behind you, hearing him humming while singing from time to time along when all of a sudden, you felt his arms gently wrapping around your body.
“C-Can I?” he asked before he could even fully close the gap between the two of you. Nodding your head, butterflies began to swarm across your stomach. There’s something with this touch that you liked, gives off a certain feeling that you knew to yourself you’ll crave once it leaves you. Oh, you might get used to it but who cares? Seungcheol was already hugging you from behind, holding you like he’s afraid you’re going anywhere.
But who were you kidding? You weren’t. It felt so good, you would fall into melancholy once he lets go. Right there and then you swore you don’t ever want that moment to end.
“Beautiful life, you and I. It’s a beautiful life, you and I…” he softly sang to your ears as he rested his cheek on the side of your head, gently leaning onto it.
Blood rose to your cheeks instantly as your lips slowly formed into a smile. You tilted your head, tried to look up at him and your gazes met right away.
“I’m tired of saying sorry to you all the time, Cheol.”
His thick brows furrowed, forehead creasing in confusion.
“What do you mean?”
Fuck your fears. There’s no way you’re going to let this moment pass, let this man go even. He saw you at your best and stayed with you at your worst. God knows how much patience this man has stored, waiting for you all these years and finally telling you that he loves you. Even if you are a mess, he still finds you beautiful. It’s rare to find someone who’s willing to fight your demons with you and here he is. And if he’s ready to jump with you no matter what the odds are, then you’re in for it.
After all, you’d rather risk it all than to regret it for the rest of your life—not knowing what could’ve been if you choose to let him go just because you thought you don’t deserve his love at any extent.
“The truth is… I-I love you too.”
It wasn’t that hard to notice how his ears turned instantly red upon hearing you say that. Disbelief filled his mesmerizing eyes as he stared at you, obviously still processing what he just heard.
“Y/N…”
There really is something with the way he says your name. It sounded beautiful when it came from his lips. And just like that, the next song played.
I love you, our love is true
(Hug me) Time is passing by
I love you, our love is true
(Hug me) Don’t let me go
“I love you.”
You repeated, smiling at him. Turning around to face him, you tiptoed and wrapped your arms around his waist to hug him back. You looked at his eyes before placing a soft chaste kiss on his cheek and resting your head on his chest.
“God, I’m sorry for making it so complicated but really I love you—“
He caught your lips—not letting you finish, and kissed you in the middle of the crowd while The Rose was playing I.L.Y and that’s the exact moment the first snow began to fall.

HAERIM x 95 line
Tumblr media
Haerim x Seungcheol
Best friends isn't enough to describe the relationship between the two leaders of Seventeen.
They've stuck together since their trainee days when they were told they would both be leaders and lead Seventeen together.
It hasn't always been easy but one things for sure, Haerim and Seungcheol will always have each other as a source of strangth and comfort no matter what happens.
Arguments aren't uncommon, in fact they used to fight a lot in trainee days. Pledis even made them take couples therapy to help them find the best way to work together. Now days they never really argue because they're used to each other. They know how the other thinks, they can probably read each other's minds by now.
Can't go a day without seeing or hearing from each other. They're each others support system. When Seungcheol's struggling she's there to help his though it and tell him he's going well. They're so comfortable and share everything with each other, there's no secrets between Haerim and Seungcheol.
They've seen each other at their worst. Their friendship is built on complete trust and loyalty. They promised they would never give up on each other or their team.
Tumblr media
Haerim x Jeonghan
One of Haerim's favorite people in the whole world but also the person who annoys her the most.
Both Haerim and Jeonghan are really competitive so they are always trying to beat the other a something. His clever, cheating ways only annoy her more and fuel her desire to best him at whatever they're doing.
Despite constantly being at each other's throats, Haerim and Jeonghan are the best of friends who are always there for each other.
In trainee days when Jeonghan wanted to quit she wouldn't let him. She talked it through with him, comforted him and helped him with anything he needed. She never gave up on him for a moment.
Someone she can fall back on. She doesn't let the younger members know when she's stressed or tired but Jeonghan just knows when she's feeling down. She can easily talk to him about anything worrying her, he listens to her and comforts her.
He always gives her back hugs. She would just be standing there, minding her own business when suddenly he comes out of nowhere, wraps his arms around her and places his chin on her shoulder. He just likes to hold his best friend.
Tumblr media
Haerim x Joshua
Girl can't live without Joshua and that's a fact. If ever there were two people who were meant to be best friends, it's these two.
The moment they met they knew they would be good friends for a long time. They just clicked instantly.
Haerim has always supported Joshua. In trainee days she would cry with him when he missed his family. It was hard for him and she knew that, so she always gave him her shoulder to lean on. Joshua has said that although they're the same age, Haerim cared for him like a mother back then and he's very thankful for that.
They go out together a lot and enjoy each others company. If they eat they always argue over who pays for their meal, Joshua says he should pay because he's a gentlemen and Haerim says she should because she's older. So now they take turns paying.
He's someone she relies on a lot, his presence always makes her feel more relaxed and calm. She's very happy to spend her time with him without really doing much, she just loves being with Joshua.
She's so grateful to have a best friend like him in her life. He repays her for taking care of him in trainee days by taking care of her now. She takes such good care of all the members but who's taking care of Haerim? Joshua, that's who.
Seungcheol, Jeonghan and Joshua are Haerim's closest and most trusted friends. She can overcome anything as long as she has them by her side. They are her strength and the reason she can go forward knowing everything will be fine.

BACKBURNER // LAST PART (Version 2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
DESCRIPTION: She had grown tired of being on his back burner, the person that he had kept warm until he gotten the girl he has had his eyes set on for years... And with a little help from her friend, maybe... just maybe she'll finally be the first choice. PAIRING: Seungcheol x Reader | Mingyu x Reader GENRE: Angst & Fluff PART 4 | LAST PART - VERSION 1 | SERIES MASTERLIST | MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
She had quit months ago.
He actually was the one that had urged her to do so, making it a point to shame her each time he had caught even a hint of the stale scent lingering on her clothes or skin.
It was a nasty habit she had picked up during her last year of college – craving the thin white cylinder after a night out of drinking. He left her alone at first, at times taking a drag from the cigarette in between her fingers to prolong the buzz of the alcohol coursing through his body.
Unlike her, he was able to quit quite easily – cold turkey.
He had just woken up one day and decided the toxicity was too much for him and he just .... stopped.
Y/n was doing so well, opting to chew gum when she began craving her method of stress reliever; but tonight was her one moment of weakness.
After Seungcheol had left her and Mingyu's room, she attempted to distract her thoughts of doubt and panic by scrolling on her phone and when it wasn't enough, she tried sleeping.
She tossed and turned in her bed for the fifth time when she decided it was no use, kicking off her duvet and bounding to the ABC store across their hotel to purchase a pack of reds.
Mingyu had yet to return from the gym; and truth be told, she was glad.
She didn't want to face him – not while she couldn't even look at herself in the mirror.
Y/n had grown frustrated by her thoughts that seemed to attack her instead of properly creating coherent ideas – coming to a conclusion that she had been the root of all her problems.
If she had just listened to Mingyu and Minghao's warnings when Seungcheol had first swiped up on one of her stories, sending her heart eyes instead of properly complimenting her, she wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.
And if she had just listened to the one logical voice in her head when Mingyu had suggested to fake date, she would have been able to actually get over Seungcheol – as opposed to landing her in a situation in which she and her best friend kissed.
Possibly ruining their friendship.
Though, he seemed to pay no mind to it.
And maybe that's why it bothered her so much.
He was so nonchalant.
"That's a nasty habit you got there." Minghao's voice brought her back down to earth as he joined her in the darkness of the designated smoking area of the hotel – an unlit cigarette in between his lips.
Exhaling a cloud of smoke through her nose, she let out a small laugh – handing him the white lighter she had been toying with in her hand.
He was the only one Mingyu hadn't been able to persuade into quitting. Though, he did cut down significantly; smoking only a few days out of the week.
"Don't tell him." She took a long drag.
It was sarcasm.
Mingyu would be able to tell the second he stepped into the room; he had a nose of a blood hound and knew her signature scent in a crowded room. Her smell of sweet pea and vanilla will be over powered by the grey haze.
She'll worry about his reaction later.
"Why are you out here? Something happened?" He knew her well enough that she wouldn't be smoking for no reason.
The last time he had last seen her with a cigarette in between her lips was after her first day of working in the NICU – venting to him and Mingyu that pushing on to keep her parents happy with following their wishes of her being a nurse was a mistake.
She had nearly smoked a quarter of his pack that day, Mingyu having to pry the carton from her hands; convincing her to accompany them to get dinner instead.
The two spent the rest of the night telling outlandish tales of their most recent Tinder dates to distract the girl, keeping her mind off of her desire to put in her two weeks and wallow in self pity.
"Plenty." Y/n licked her lips, not knowing where to begin.
The two were never shy of sharing their deepest thoughts with one another. They had spent many nights dissecting their minds in her best friend's apartment. She always did cherish how brutally honest he was, not caring to sugarcoat any of his opinions and advices – and she did the same.
"Seungcheol told me he chose me." The nicotine that once gave her a dull buzz felt like a full vibration the second she uttered his name, almost as if it was a forbidden word.
Minghao simply nodded, his bottom lip jutting out.
She kept her eyes trained on the stick that had burned halfway, nestled between her pointer and middle finger.
"But Mingyu and I kissed." Y/n said in almost a whisper; recalling to the warmth of his delicate touch on her cheek and how perfectly their lips fit together. "Made out, actually."
He remained unfazed, nodding once again. "You're confused."
He read her like an open book. He was always good at reading people; some sort of witchcraft probably.
"The reason why I agreed to this shit in the first place was because of Seungcheol. I wanted to be his– but when he told me– when he said he chose me." She put the cigarette back up to her lips. "All I could think about was Mingyu."
She thought she would have been happy to hear him say those words.
"It's you. I chose you."
The person who she was a few months ago would have leapt in Seungcheol's arms without a second thought; happy that she was finally his.
But the change happened so slowly that not even she felt it. The air had shifted without even noticing it; she had slipped from him... and straight into Mingyu's arms.
Y/n had allowed Seungcheol to spill his guts right in front of her, frozen in her spot – unable to muster a single word except an "okay". He had ambushed her the same way she had done during that god forsaken night at his apartment.
She knew he expected more, leaving her room with his shoulders low. Y/n had also expected more from herself; but she wasn't able to complete a single sentence.
The only thing running in her mind was the kiss she had shared with her best friend hours ago. The one that had provided her a new sense of calm, almost as if her world had stopped the second his lips touched hers.
"Are you saying you have feelings for him?"
Mingyu.
"I don't know."
"What do you know?" He pried.
Minghao was always good at asking questions to allow her to properly sort through the mess in her head – simplifying her thoughts.
"I know that this has been the happiest I've been in a while." Y/n began.
Maybe it was the island, hypnotizing them with the warm sun and the surge of dopamine that their false reality that it had provided them during their trip. Or maybe it was the fact that Seungcheol hadn't rattled her brain in a while, Mingyu giving her the distraction she needed.
"I know that I agreed to pretend to date Mingyu for Seungcheol." She went on. "But I also know that it no longer feels like it's for Seungcheol."
In the beginning, their actions were calculated – each one of their instagram posts and fake dates were all for a targeted audience. The two didn't dare cross any lines, keeping a close eye on the end game they both wished to achieve.
The past few days, it seemed as though the line had become quite blurry; especially for her. At first, she thought it was simply because she was finally getting used to the forced close proximity she and Mingyu put themselves in.
She didn't dare bat an eye to all the small moments where he seemed to dote on her, meeting all the needs she didn't think needed to be met. Because it was all things he had done before.
Except now, she was starting to look a little too hard into all his actions.
And it was all because of that fucking kiss.
All those times he answered all her silent questions, making sure there was always a smile on her face, the small gestures, his attention to the minor details of her daily life... They now had her double guessing. All because the man she could have sworn she wanted all this time, had never once dared to do any of it all.
If Mingyu had attempted to kiss her before, at the beginning of their arrangement, she would have pushed him off. She would have given him an earful for even trying to lean in.
A second into his lips locking with hers, she found herself melting into his touch – almost as if her body had been waiting for that moment.
She could have sworn he wanted it as well, being the one to initiate it. He was the one that deepened the kiss, gently pulling her face closer to his – as if she could get any closer than she already was.
Y/n couldn't help but feel a bit conflicted when Mingyu had chosen to dismiss it as if it was just another normal occurence between them; her insecurities slightly feeding into the thought of her just being as one of the girls on his roster.
The feelings she once had for him during their high school days slowly began to bubble back up, remembering all the times she caught herself staring at him in class – wishing he could open his eyes and fall for the girl he called his best friend.
It was a small crush.
And who knows, maybe this could just be her younger self finally fulfilling her life long dream of being with the boy that had helped her with her algebra homework – consoling her as she cried at his dinner table when she couldn't understand why the alphabet was needed to be added into a math problem.
She was .... very confused.
This was all supposed to be about Seungcheol, and now she was wishing he had never come into their room in attempts to make peace.
"Why don't you sleep on it?" Minghao suggested.
"I tried. That's why I'm out here smoking this damn thing." Y/n scoffed at her actions.
She always did hate how easily she reverted back to her unhealthy habits, especially when she had finally made progress.
Minghao opened his mouth before shutting it back again, hesitating if he should even tell her the conversation he had overheard earlier in the day. He had always gossiped with her in Mingyu.
But this wasn't something simple as finding out that his coworker was cheating on his wife with someone else in their department, or the fact the Hansol took Mingyu's little sister out on a date last month.
No, this could drastically change the group's dynamic. It was all so messy.
More importantly, he was always a firm believer of allowing his friends the freedom of making their choice – not wanting to meddle in the possibility of ruining their chances of them learning their lessons.
He was sadistic like that.
Warning Mingyu about how messy fake dating didn't count – he was an idiot and he wanted to save himself from hearing more about how in love he was with y/n all while she was too blind to see it all.
"If I tell you something about Sunhee and Cheol, will it make the organization of your thoughts easier?"
The thing was, Minghao was holding on to a key information that he was itching to spill out. And he was, eventually.... He just didn't think Seungcheol was stupid enough to approach y/n the same day.
He under estimated how his friend's brain operated.
He wasn't supposed to overhear the conversation between the two, but it wasn't his fault they had chosen to have an argument in public – all while he on the other side of the bushes taking pictures of the scenery before him.
Y/n nodded for him to continue. "Shoot."
"Look, they fought earlier." His voice low, as if there could be any one else that could over hear them in the empty smoking area. "He wanted her. He told her it's her he wanted and she blew him off."
She let out a laugh in disbelief, shaking her head.
Of course. Of fucking course.
Y/n wasn't the first choice.
She was still and will always come before Sunhee. He had chosen her because the girl he wanted had given him the hard no.
She thought she would be heartbroken, but instead a new emotion had overtaken her – something that she hadn't once felt towards him.
All of a sudden, y/n began to see red.
Seungcheol had only wanted to make peace because he had nothing else left, and he thought she was stupid enough to fall right back into his trap.
Why did she ever think he'd ever see her as anything else but a seat filler? It was as if Minghao casted a spotlight an all of Seungcheol's actions – shedding light on all those moments she had chosen to turn a blind eye to.
The relationship she had always wished for, the small sweet moments she and Seungcheol shared were nothing but supercuts – a collection of good memories that seemed to have over powered all the others that had left her broken.
All the times he had left her hanging, forgetting the promised dates, leaving her messages on read, and endless nights of nothing but tears came flooding back – and instead of sadness and pain, she felt anger.
How had she let it get this far?
"I know that you're hanging on to the possibility of him changing– and who knows, maybe one day he will. But it's definitely not now." Minghao shook his head.
"You know he told me he wanted to do it right. He said he wanted to earn my trust." She let out a laugh. "God, he's so– He's–"
"An idiot? Dumbass? Asshole?"
"All of the above." She walked over to the metal bowl, putting her cigarette out – digging it into the accumulated ash.
"Sleep on it, yeah?" Minghao called out as she continued her journey to the entrance of the lobby.
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
The sound of the curtains opening, the warm rays of the morning sun hitting her face caused her to stir in her sleep, slowly blinking her eyes open – a blurry Mingyu digging in suitcase was the first thing she was greeted by.
She had been asleep when he had arrived back from the gym – not bothering to wake her to notify her that he had brought back the chips she had requested. Opting to place it by the night stand that had divided their beds.
"Morning." She croaked, sinking deeper into the mattress.
Turning his head, he nodded at her before going back to searching for a shirt and swim trunks.
It was their last day before the wedding festivities began and he had under estimated the amount of garments he needed to pack for the trip – despite her warnings of packing extra outfits "just in case".
"You smell." He mumbled.
Mingyu had caught a hint of the stale odor when he had entered the room last night – a scent that had grown accustomed to as it lingered in his apartment balcony due to his roommate's need to fill his lungs with the grey smoke every once and while.
"I– uh, yeah." She didn't bother coming up with an excuse, nor did she have the energy to fight it.
Just as Minghao suggested, Y/n decided to sleep in it. There was no need to make a decision anyways, it wasn't like Mingyu felt the same way – and it wasn't like she had given Seungcheol the final answer.
The only conclusion she had reached was that she was tired. She no longer wanted to be in the middle of a mess due to relationships. More importantly, not the ones that had left her second guessing.
She and Mingyu agreed that their little game of charades would end by the end of the trip, and she would leave it at that. She'll worry about whatever feelings he had unearthed when they got back to the mainland; when the blanket of false reality that covered their friendship has been lifted.
And with the Minghao spilling the truth about Seungcheol's sudden decision to make his pick between her and Sunhee, she knew that she could no longer tolerate him and his little games. Not anymore.
Not when she no longer feels the same way she did months ago.
"Everything okay?" He kept his back turned, almost as if he was afraid to meet her eyes.
"Yeah, just– my brain is a little loud again." Her eyes was trained on his back.
He nodded, setting his choice of outfit for the day down atop of the rest of his folded garments before turning to face her. "Want to let me in?"
Chewing on the skin inside her cheek, y/n sat up in her bed; crossing her legs. He took this as an invitation to take seat where her legs had once taken space.
"If it's about–"
"Seungcheol talked to–" The two began simultaneously, pausing when they both heard one another speak over each other's voice
"You go first." He motioned for her to continue.
Truth be told, he wanted to be left in the dark. Mingyu didn't want to know what had gone down in their room when Seungcheol paid a visit.
Not when he already knows what she was about to say.
He had unfortunately run into Seungcheol in the hallway the night before, his friend giving him the heads up that he had finally made a choice.
Not only that, but he had requested for his assistance.
To allow him to make a move on y/n, to be exact.
Mingyu felt sick to his stomach the remainder of the night, unable to properly work out with Joshua and Soonyoung at the hotel's gym due to Seungcheol's voice ringing in his ears.
"I get it. I'm not your top pick for her, but– I need you to help me."
Mingyu was well aware they had agreed to end their arrangement by the end of the trip, he was completely fine with it. Up until Seungcheol had made him realize that this reality was fast approaching.
Not only that but the fact that he would lose all chances with her completely. As if he even had any chance, judging by her reaction from their sweet moment atop the jeep yesterday – chances were slim to none.
Seungcheol was the reason as to why they were pretending, after all. He made his decision and it was the one she had been waiting for.
All her hopes and dreams of having a relationship with Seungcheol was finally going to come true.
"Seungcheol told me he picked me." Y/n swallowed.
He didn't dare blink or react to the words that had left her lips.
And she couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed by his lack of emotions.
"That's good, right?"
God, someone just shoot him right now.
She shrugged. "Want to hear the kicker?"
He nodded for her to go on.
"Minghao overheard him telling Sunhee that he wanted to be with her just hours before he came and talked to me."
There was the expression she was looking for.
All the theories, the conclusions that he jumped to, were proven wrong.
His brows furrowed, the corner of his lips curling. He was angry.
"You're joking."
Y/n shook her head, letting out a small laugh. It was a pity laugh.
"You know what, fuck him." Mingyu rolled his eyes. "Had the fucking nerve to ask me to allow him to–"
"What?"
"What?" Mingyu replied quickly, realizing he had let his emotions overtake him – spilling his interaction with Seungcheol just minutes for he had entered their room.
"What did he ask you?"
Sighing, knowing that there was no way she was going to let it go. "I ran into him on the way to the gym. He told me all about his plans– God– I believed him. He seemed so sincere. He– "
Groaning to herself, Y/n leaned back against the headboard. "Stink, I'm so tired."
He looked at the girl, his eyes softening at the sight of her in pure defeat. His heart ached to see the girl he had been pining for, raising the white flag after the constant emotional beating she had received from Seungcheol.
Especially when he knows he could treat her far better.
"Come on," He reached to pull her up by her arm. "Just a two more days and you wont ever have to see him. I'll– I'll make sure he doesn't come anywhere near you."
"Thank you."
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
She scoffed at his acts. Watching as he laid his towel down in between Joshua and Jeonghan, actively avoiding Sunhee.
Seungcheol made it a point to make eye contact with her whilst he did this, almost as if it was his way to tell her that he was staying true to his words from the night before.
Y/n continued to apply the tanning lotion on her bare skin as the rest of the group happily helped themselves to the spam musubi Seungcheol had so generously bought just before they had all met at the beach – mumbling "It's warm this time." only for her to hear when he had set it down.
She couldn't believe it, but his efforts made her feel sick.
"Want some?" Mingyu asked, offering her a bite of the rice wrap.
Y/n shook her head. "Kinda craving an acai bowl, if I'm being honest."
Mingyu knew she had declined because it was purchased by Seungcheol and not because of the reason she had just said. He didn't dare press on the open wound, allowing for her to sit in silence as they listened to Seungkwan babble on about the prank Soonyoung and Chan had pulled on him earlier this morning.
The two boys had managed to get a copy of Seungkwan's room key from the front desk, ambushing him at the crack of dawn – putting on an act as if he had over slept and had missed the wedding. He had been so exhausted from the past few days, half asleep as he allowed for the false sense of panic from his two friends to trick him into getting dressed in his suit.
The group had doubled in laughter as Soonyoung jumped in, claiming that Seungkwan was nearly finished with buttoning his white long sleeve when he had realized it was all a joke.
"I never thought I would hear 'asshole, fuckers, sons of bitches, loser low lives' all in one sentence." Chan laughed, hitting the sand.
Joshua clutched his stomach, wiping the moisture from his eyes. "Oh my god, ow."
"Idiot." Mingyu laughed, shaking his head.
"I miss having us all together." Jeonghan hummed as the laughter subsided, leaning back on his elbows. "We should have more destination weddings."
"Not everyone is bleeding money like you, Han." Joshua snickered.
"Seungcheol is." He countered. "Doubt he'll marry soon, though."
"Pretty sure our only hope is Mr. Finance Bro and Ms. Nurse over here." Seokmin gestured over to Mingyu and Y/n – with their joint income, there was no second guessing they'd be able to ensure an all expense paid trip for the whole group.
"Yeah, if she doesn't break up with me." Mingyu snorted.
He was planting seeds in their heads for their inevitable end.
Y/n bit back the frown that threatened to form in her lips, not wanting any of it all to stop.
Stupid fucking kiss.
"Thin ice buddy." She joked, playfully shoving him.
They were playing a role, after all.
"Please, as if you two could find a better match for each other." Jeonghan rolled his eyes. "We've all been placing bets since junior year."
That caught the two's attention, Mingyu choking on a single grain of rice; nearly turning red from coughing.
Unbeknownst to the two, their friend group had been conspiring behind their backs – exchanging knowing glances with one another whenever the two bickered.
They claimed that they bickered like an old married couple, and it would only be a matter of time before they decide to resolve their small argument with a kiss.
Y/n disguised her shock with laughter, reaching over to pat Mingyu's back in attempts to soothe him. She didn't know how much more new revelations her poor brain can take.
This was not helping her thoughts, whatsoever.
"Don't act too surprised." Jeonghan laughed. "Speaking of, if I remember clearly, Seungkwan and Hansol you guys owe me $200 each. I take Zelle or Apple Pay."
"Doesn't your bank account have enough zeroes?" Seungkwan sassed.
"A bet is a bet."
"That we made years ago!" He cried.
Thankfully, the boys had decided to drop the subject – going on about the remaining few hours of their day lounging about on the sand.
Y/n had pulled her sunglasses over her eyes, shielding her from the sun and Seungcheol's lingering stares. It was almost as if he was waiting for any chance to speak to her, at times joining in on any conversation that had involved her or Mingyu.
It was stark difference to how he had previously been acting towards them in the past few days, joking around with no trace of his snarky tone or snide comments.
Mingyu chose to go along with change of attitude in his so-called friend, keeping his act going strong – as if Y/n hadn't told him about his sneaky plans of getting her back.
Don't get him wrong, it angered him. If he had it his way, Mingyu would have confronted Seungcheol in a heartbeat.
Maybe even landing a punch.
But he also knew it wasn't the right time or place, not when it has been years since the whole group was complete.
The girl laying next to him on the other hand had made her emotions quite obvious to Seungcheol; purposely avoiding his eyes when it was his turn to speak and choosing to pretend to not hear any of his attempts to spring up a conversation.
"Play nice." Mingyu mumbled only for her to hear as he leaned back on his elbows, going down to her level.
"I don't know what you're talking about." She smiled sweetly. Her way of feigning innocence to her recent actions.
Chuckling, Mingyu couldn't help but playfully pinching the tip of her nose; scrunching at his touch. "Watch out, they might catch you being a raging bitch."
"I still don't know what you're talking about." She hummed.
Mingyu had to fight yet another urge to lean down and plant a kiss on her lips, finding her a little too cute with as she continued with her oscar winning act.
Biting his lip, he sat back up on his towel – their distance had become quite dangerous for his liking and he didn't want another repeat of yesterday. "Gonna go play with the guys, wanna come?"
Glancing at the half empty row of towels, Y/n let out a sigh. She wasn't in the mood to be tossed by the waves that were currently crashing on to the shore – but it was far better than being left behind with Jihoon, who she barely knew, Joshua, and Seungcheol.
"Fuck it." She sat up, taking Mingyu's hand that had stretched out in front of her – helping her up off of the ground.
He didn't let go.
And she was more than happy with allowing his fingers interlock with hers as they made their way to the water.
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
She had gone ahead of Mingyu, leaving him behind the small dining hall Jeonghan and Eunji had held their rehearsal dinner at – her social battery blinking at 0%.
Y/n felt the shapewear she had worn under her dress dig into her stomach, the strap of her heels cutting into her toes – she needed to change out of into a much more comfortable attire.
It wasn't like there was much else for her to do down there anyways; most of the family and friends that had been invited to the small gathering have retreated back to their rooms not too long before she had excused herself.
She knew if she stayed any longer, she'd just get talked into drinking more mixed drinks with the few that had stayed behind – and she wasn't really in the mood to have a hangover during the wedding.
Y/n could see her hotel room door, when she heard footsteps fast approaching behind her.
It was almost like a trauma response, she immediately knew that pace of walk – speed walk to be exact.
Seungcheol.
God, when will it end?
Turning to greet him, she was caught by surprise to see that he had closed their distance quite significantly – standing only a foot away from her.
"Did I do something wrong?" He asked, breathlessly.
He wasted no time slipping out of the hall when he had noticed she had bid her goodnight – following her up to their floor.
"What are you talking about?" Y/n deadpanned, pretending to not understand his sudden question.
"I–you've been avoiding me all day." Though she wasn't being too discreet with her actions, she didn't exactly think he would be able to catch on to it.
He never did paid attention to her before, anyways.
Apart from her active decision to give him the cold shoulder earlier at the beach, Y/n had successfully done the same during the rehearsal dinner.
She had kept her eyes on everywhere else but him, even going as far as leaving the glass of wine he had so kindly retrieved for her at the bar – claiming the one glass she had finished was enough.
Only for her to take sips of Mingyu's whisky the remainder of the night. He didn't care to protest, offering her the glass after he would take a swig himself.
"I thought we were on the same page." Seungcheol went on. "I– I said I chose you, and I'd prove it. I– you said okay."
Y/n didn't dare fight the urge to roll her eyes, his face flashing a look of confusion at her sudden hostility. "Do you think I'm that stupid?"
"Wha– what's going on?" He looked around, as if it was some hidden camera prank – waiting for a crew to jump out and surprise him.
"Minghao overheard you two at the ranch. He told me everything."
Silence.
He was dumbfounded and she was not even a bit shocked that he seemed to have lost his ability to speak.
She knew that he didn't think she would ever find out about what had happened between him and Sunhee – and judging by his reaction, he was never planning on telling her.
"You didn't choose me." Y/n scoffed. "Sunhee rejected you."
"What difference does that make?"
Y/n felt the blood under her skin begin to grow hot.
He was so fucking dense.
"You don't get it, do you?" She took a step towards him; Seungcheol nervously swallowing as she closed in on him. "You didn't choose me because you wanted me. You wanted a seat filler, a replacement. I'm not going to be your backup plan because your original one failed. I'm not going to be that girl anymore."
Anymore.
"Wha– oh my god... you fell for him, didn't you?" The light bulb in his head had turned on. "You're blowing me off because of him. You know he's not going to treat you any better–"
"Than what? You?" Y/n interjected, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I mean, you said it." Seungcheol shrugged, that stupid cocky smirk playing on his lips – that same one that had been painted on his face during their first few days on the island.
She began to feel the beat of her heart thump against her chest, the anger consuming her. He knew how to get under her skin, and he knew how to do it well.
He had been caught red handed and she knew he wasn't going down with a fight.
And neither was she.
"Being with him made me realize that the time I had spent with you was nothing but a waste of my time."
"You know it's not real right? When we get back home, he'll go back to his old ways."
His old ways.
Back to the line of girls that had waited for a chance with him.
The smirk on his lips grew larger as he watched his words get into her head, knowing that he had struck a nerve. "He's just like me, Y/n. You may not choose me, but running to him won't serve you any better."
"Fuck you." Y/n gritted her teeth, clenching her fists at her side as she fought back the tears of frustration that threatened to fall from her eyes.
She hated that any hint of anger made her cry.
And God, was she fuming.
"You have, multiple times." He raised his brows. "Remember?"
That was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Her hand was far quicker than her brain. It wasn't until her palm collided with his cheek that she had fully processed what she had done.
It was long over due and it felt good.
"Whoa, what's going on here?" Mingyu's voice called from the end of the hall – quickly running over to where the two stood. He had slowly made his way out of the elevator when he heard the loud smack echo through the walls – sobering him in an instant.
Mingyu had wedged himself between the two, using one arm to move y/n's body behind his. He wasn't too sure what had taken place, or what had prompted the loud sound – but he knew it wasn't anything good.
Nothing Seungcheol was involved with has ever equated to the word "good".
"I think it's time for you to go to your room, Cheol." His voice firm, towering over the man in front of him.
Seungcheol didn't need to be told twice, scoffing as he turned his heel towards the other side of the corridor.
"Are you okay?" Mingyu's eyes wide as he faced her, placing both hands on either side of her shoulders as he scanned her. "Did he hurt you?"
Y/n shook her head as the pads of his thumb wiped away the remaining tears on her face. "I slapped him."
"Oh." Mingyu paused.
"He– I can't believe I defended him for so long." She sniffled.
A wave of embarrassment crashed into her as she recalled all the times she had made excuses for all his actions like her life depended on it. She could have sworn the man she had initially fell for was not the same one she had just faced, unable to fully wrap her mind around what had just taken place.
"Everyone makes mistakes." Mingyu used the sleeve of his button down to wipe her nose, earning a laugh from the girl.
"I don't have snot, you idiot." Y/n lightly smacked his arm away.
"I know." He laughed. "Just wanted to make you smile."
Seungcheol was wrong. Though they had shared some similarities, Mingyu was nowhere near like him.
Especially not when it came to her.
Mingyu had and will always treat her delicately. He would never dare say or do anything to hurt her.
Like he said a few days back, he'd do anything for her happiness.
Getting over him may just be far more painful that getting over Seungcheol.
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
To say the setting was beautiful was an understatement; the grassy lawn of the hotel had been transformed to any bride's dream.
Various kinds of white flowers lined the rows and the altar, creating a sight that only a girl could have imagined and pinned on her pinterest board.
Y/n's breath had been taken away when she had first taken a seat, snapping a few pictures before they were instructed to put all their devices away for an unplug ceremony.
She couldn't help but be in awe as the each second passed, shedding a few tears when she had caught a glimpse of Jeonghan's lips quivering at the sight of Eunji making her way down the aisle.
"Jeonghan," Eunji spoke into the mic, taking her turn to profess her vows in front of their guests; a wide grin on her face. "People often talk about how difficult relationships are and I happily can say that I can't relate to them. I get that relationships takes a lot of work, but being with you have never felt like this. It's like I clocked into a shift with my favorite coworker. Our days have always been filled with laughter, the only tears you've ever brought me were when you would make those stupid silly jokes that I love so much. They say love is hard but our love has been the easiest part of my life. And I guess, it's because you have made it so easy. You're not only my life partner but my best friend and I can't wait to start this new chapter of our life together. Today, as I stand here in front of our families and friends, I Park Eunji take you Yoon Jeonghan as my lawfully wedded husband."
While everyone clapped, some wiping away their tears, Y/n couldn't help but let here eyes stray to the line of groomsmen that stood behind Jeonghan — her eyes meeting Mingyu's who has had his eyes trained on her even before Eunji began her vows.
Everything Eunji had described about Jeonghan was what y/n had come to realize about Mingyu two days ago. That easy love, those days filled with laughter, the silly jokes – they were all connecting back to Mingyu.
Y/n had always thought that when someone was in love, they felt butterflies in their stomach – creating a restless buzz each time they were near the person they were destined to be with.
She had mistaken the lack of butterflies whenever she was around Mingyu as her not actually having any feelings for him – but simply being caught up in their act of faux lovers.
This whole time, it was because he brought a new sense of calm upon her. She had been in a constant state of fight or flight for such a long time that she failed to realize that he was the only one that could pull her out of it all the chaos that surrounded her.
He was the calm after the storm – hurricane to be exact.
Sending her a wink from where he stood, Mingyu couldn't help but crack a smile as she returned it.
・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.
They were both returning from the bar, each with a drink in hand, when the sound of familiar chorus of voices blared through the speakers.
It was as if they the same thought had ran across their mind at the same time, exchanging knowing glances before letting out a soft laugh.
Baby I'm yours. And I'll be yours until the stars fall from the sky.
It was their song.
They were both well aware it was a love song, but they didn't care. It had held some weird attachment to the two, being the first song she had recommended to him when they were teenagers.
It was her poor attempts of hinting her feelings towards the boy at the time, but his undeveloped frontal lobe never put two and two together – finding the melody of the song beautiful.
She had played it countless of times around him that when he had later heard the song without her, his mind went straight to all the times she would softly hum along to the tune.
She had pavloved him.
This song would follow them throughout the years, having it's fair share of being blasted in their cars or apartments – obnoxiously dancing and singing along to the old time tune cover.
They were at their assigned table within seconds, setting their drinks down. Before she could even take a seat, Mingyu had stepped in front of her – holding his hand out.
"May I have this dance?" A playful grin on his lips.
He wasn't going to waste this perfect opportunity. It was their last night together as a couple.
Their last dance.
He was never going to have this same chance again, and he was going to make the most of it.
One last time.
"You may." Y/n laughed, taking his hand – allowing him to lead her to the center of the room, joining other paired up bodies.
"Oh gross!" Minghao pretended to gag as he took their unattended drinks – claiming it as his own.
"Yours until the poets ran out of rhyme..." Mingyu sang, spinning her.
A giggle emitted from her lips as he caught her, dipping her before they swayed like two idiots.
"I didn't get to thank you for last night." Y/n relaxed her arms around his neck.
After they had gone back to their room, he allowed her to join him in his bed – patting her back as she cried into one of his pillow. He listened until she had fallen asleep in the middle of her endless rant — rambling on and on about how stupid she was to allow Seungcheol to continuously break her heart.
Mingyu didn't dare wake her, knowing that the her emotions had taken a toll on her. Instead, he allowed Y/n to stay – making sure not to cross the metaphorical boundary he had drawn in his head as she lightly snored on the left side of the bed.
By the time she woke, he had already left the room – having joined the rest of the groomsmen for their scheduled breakfast and pre-wedding game of golf.
Not without a text notifying her of this, of course.
Not that he needed to tell her, it was out of pure courtesy.
"S'fine. I just hope the next guy you date doesn't give you a hard time." Mingyu shrugged.
He had hoped the next and final guy was him.
"Are you getting tired of wiping my tears?" She countered, playfully.
"Tired of seeing you cry over men." He corrected.
"Me too." Y/n sighed. "I think I won't date any guy until I find the same kind of love Eunji described. You know, the easy kind. The one that makes all the shitty days not seem all that bad."
She maintained her eye contact with him as she spoke — and if he had been able to read her thoughts before, he would be able to tell that she was describing him.
"It wasn't a mistake." Mingyu hoped he had guessed her unspoken words correctly. "I meant it."
He was talking about the kiss.
Y/n felt her breath hitch in her throat — coming out as a hiccup.
She had initially felt unsure about her feelings towards him — afraid that it was nothing but her mind playing tricks on her.
But she also knew him better than she knew herself. The second she had caught his stare after Eunji's vows, she had never felt more sure in her life.
He had felt the same way.
It was only a matter of how either one of them was going to bring it up.
"How long?" Y/n knew that he wasn't one to act impulsively around her — she hated surprises.
Even the good ones.
She knew that if he truly meant to kiss her, it was something that he had been thinking of for quite some time now.
"Been waiting for months now."
"Months?"
"Maybe even years." Mingyu replied with a shrug.
"Years?"
This was it. He was going to finally allow himself to tell her the same words he had recited over and over again in front of the mirror.
As the final chorus of the song began, Mingyu allowed for the singers voices to drown out all the other noises around them — his eyes blurring everything but her.
"It's always been you." Mingyu's voice was soft, his hand reaching up to tuck a loose strand behind her ear. "To me, there was never first, second, third, or fourth choice. It's you."
He looked at her in pure adoration, his brows turned down and eyes filled with stars — a look she had never seen before.
"It was you when you spent nearly every day waiting for me to finish basketball practice in high school. It was you when you stayed up all night to help me study for my econ final at the library our sophomore year in college. It was you when you rescued from a shitty dinner at my parents five months ago. It's you now and it's going to be you tomorrow, and the next day, and all the days after that."
All while she was hoping to be the first pick in Seuncheol's life, she had been the first and only in Mingyu's.
He didn't dare keep a spare — he knew no one could measure up to Y/n.
As the song wrapped up, he stepped away from her — giving her one last spin before pulling her back in. "I hope it's me too." He whispered.
Taking his hand, she guided him away from the chaos of the party and out into the stillness of patio, with the only thing to be heard was the muffled music behind the closed doors and the distant sound of the waves crashing on to the shore.
"You know, you never gave me butterflies." Y/n began.
"Did you bring me out here to rej—"
Y/n held her hand up, stopping him mid sentence. "I guess I was so used to the emotional rollercoaster that all my exes have put me through that I began mistaking that gut feeling, you know— the one that warns you that something was a bad idea— as butterflies. Whenever I'm around you, I don't feel anything in my stomach because I feel safe."
Mingyu's confusion had once again turned into adoration, practically melting into her hand as he clung onto her words.
"That easy love Eunji spoke of, the one I said I wanted. It's you." Y/n continued. "You're the easiest part of my day— hell, you're the easiest part of my life. Whenever I'm with you, I have no worries, no doubts. It took me a while but, it's yo—"
Mingyu couldn't wait any longer, he was practically bouncing on his toes before he closed the gap between them — swooping down to capture her lips with his.
"Wait—" She pulled away with a giggle. "I have more to sa—"
Mingyu shook his head, dipping back down to meet her lips. "Save it for your vows." He mumbled.
Vows.
Pulling away once again, y/n gave him a look — all while he pouted.
How many times was she going to do this?
"Wha— don't tell me you said all that with no plans on marrying me."
"Are you saying you want to marry me?" She emphasized.
Mingyu used his thumb to gesture over to where the reception was currently being held, his head tilting. "Did you not just hear what I told you on the dance floor?"
"Yeah but—"
"Exactly, so can I please kiss you now?"
"Yeah okay—Ah slow down." She held up a finger, wagging it at him. "I swear to God, Kim Mingyu if you break my he—"
"Shut up, stink." Kissing her for the third time in under five minutes — smiling as he felt her relax under his touch.
All those heartbreaks, the tears he wiped – they were finally ending.
War has ended.
Y/n was finally in the arms of the man that never dared to put a frown on her face, getting the love that she deserved.

Tumblr media
Pairing: Choi Seungcheol/Reader
Summary:
Saying I love you was never easy.
Having to say it in a language that wasn't yours was not easy either.
Imagine the struggle of that, and now add it to loving someone whose family thinks you're a monster.
It can't be easy at all.
Word count: +4.1k
Warnings: Mentions of death, mentions of burning. (I think that's all.)

"Noah, stop it already!"

Noah had been banging on the bathroom door for several minutes already, hurrying you to let him into the bathroom so he could take a bath, but you knew that more out of haste to perform some personal hygiene (because Noah had never been much of a baths' lover, no matter how short they were), he was looking for excuses to distract you from meeting Seungcheol.

Your younger brother was jealous, and although you would have usually found him adorable, he was starting to wear on your patience a bit.

"If you keep banging the door, I'll tell mom." You warned him. And this seemed to be somehow effective, because the banging on the door stopped for some time.

You tried your best to dry your hair with your towel, but it was still kind of wet.

You had put it on a high ponytail and your favorite pink lipstick.

"All yours." You told Noah once you stepped out of the bathroom, giving him a questionable look when you found him lying down on the floor.
Your mom was on the couch, knitting a new scarf for Arianna since she had lost hers in the move and had already made the whole house crazy by constantly wearing her scarves.
Your mom looked at you twice, the first had been a distracted glance while the second scanned you up and down, her brow furrowed.
"Dove vai vestito così?"
Until those moments you had avoided mentioning to him the plan to go out with Seungcheol because of this very questioning.
Your father, who had been more focused on taking inventory of the raw materials to make the various delicacies sold at the bakery, also looked up, one of his eyebrows raised. "Yeah, where are you supposed to go all dolled up like that? You're not supposed to work at the bakery today."
"I'm going to meet Seungcheol." You explained, trying to avoid sounding nervous, you didn't want them to suspect you liked the poor boy or anything, it would be all very awkward if Seungcheol came back to the bakery after that. Your father had always been known in the family for making jokes and hinting at the boyfriends and girlfriends his sons had had so far. He shrugged it off with a shrug of his shoulders. There was nothing to hide. You were going to get together with a friend. "You've already met him."
"Chi è Seungcheol? Non lo ricordo." Your mother asked , and you couldn't believe how she didn't remember Seungcheol considering how many times he had been to the bakery.
"Yes, I don't remember any Seungcheol either." Your father nodded his head, agreeing with his wife.
"He's tall, dark hair, big round eyes..."
"Quello del cornetto? Va bene, puoi andare ma porta Arianna con te."
You guessed that by now the Cornet boy had officially acquired the nickname Seungcheol.

"No! I can't bring Arianna with me; he's my friend. I want to be able to talk about things with him, but Arianna will get bored. Please, Dad?"

Your father looked conflicted. "I don't know. What do you say?" he asked his wife directly. "(Y/n) is old enough not to need a chaperone, don't you think? Maybe we should trust her with this."
"Dove vi incontrate allora?"

"I don't know, we were just going to walk for a while; we didn't agree to go to a specific place."

"Va bene, ma torna a casa prima delle sette." Your mother agreed, her index finger pointing at you. And that was more than enough time, it was almost four and you weren't even sure you would have something to talk about for more than an hour.
And that was more than enough time; it was almost four, and you weren't even sure you would have something to talk about for more than an hour.

"Where are you going?" Arianna asked, entering the room where you were all wearing her pajamas, shorts, and barefoot. Her eyes looked over your figure, stopping when she realized something. "Those are my earrings! Take them off; I was planning to wear them today."

"Sure thing, it absolutely goes well with your outfit." You replied, rolling your eyes but taking them off anyway, giving them back to her before finding some others to use instead.

One of your parents must have told her what your plans were for that day because Arianna walked into your shared bedroom whining. "I wanna go too!"

"Well, next time, maybe. I told Seungcheol it would be just the two of us today; I really want to make new friends here."

"If he's going to be your friend, then he has to get used to your family." She pointed it out, throwing herself on her bed, her legs resting against the cold wall. She had started doing this after and before every meal for some reason; apparently it was good for digestion or something like that.

"Well, yeah, but it would be rude to just show up there if he wasn't being told in advance. Why do you suddenly want to meet with him anyway? Does my little sister have a crush that I haven't caught on to?"

Arianna rolled her eyes and said, "None of that. But if you're going to where we went last time, I want to go there; they gave us food. It was delicious; I still want to punch myself because we didn't bring more."
You pick up your biggest pillow and throw it at her face, taking her by surprise. "Yah! That was not nice!"
"Be grateful for what they gave us; it was a nice thing for them to do. Don't act like a brat"
Ever since that night you went to Seungcheol and his friends' house, both you and Arianna had made a silent pact to never speak about it in front of any other member of your family unless you were looking for a punishment.
"And I don't think we're going there; we're probably just going to go on a walk or something like that, and I'll come back home. Next time, we can bring Noah to the lake and invite Seungcheol if you want."
"Sure," Arianna said, "bring Seungcheol for yourself and make me babysit Noah; at least bring someone of my interest too, would you?"
You raised your right eyebrow in her direction, looking at her with an expression that said, "I caught you lying to me."

"Like who?" You asked her, reaching for the ring your mom had given you to protect you.

"I don't know; the shorter one was pretty cute." Arianna replied with a shrug. Her hand was playing with her own hair, braiding it.

"And probably too old for you; why don't you try looking for some guy your age in town? I'm sure the butcher's son is a nice boy, and if you go out with him, we might get a good discount on fish." You joked.

"But I don't like him." Arianna protested.

"Well, then ask mom to introduce you to some of her friends' sons; I bet she would be thrilled."

Arianna complained a little bit more, but you ignored it as you made your way to the door, where someone was knocking.
Seungcheol was standing in front of the door, both of his hands in his pants pockets, and his feet were moving back and forth, resting all his weight on one foot at a time.
He was biting his lower lip, and when you opened the door, he looked like he was about to fix his hair.

"Hello," Seungcheol sighed with a small smile. His eyes traveled to how you were dressed that day before returning to your eyes. "You look really nice today."

"Thanks!" You replied with a big smile, looking over your shoulder when you heard footsteps coming your way. "We should probably get going before my brother finds a way to tag along."

Seungcheol's eyes moved behind your figure, and you realized a little bit too late that Noah had made his way to the front door before you could fly away. "If he wants to come, he can." Seungcheol whispered to you, sending you a reassuring smile.

"It's okay; he can come next time."

Seungcheol nodded. "One of our youngest probably might enjoy his company; he would love to have someone to play with."

You closed the door behind you as you both started walking. The day was pretty sunny, and it was really warm.
There was a gentle breeze that was caressing your skin and moving your hair gently out of your face.

"Oh no, just one sibling interested in your friends is enough." You joked, and just when you thought this would be just a comment to fill the silence, it seemed to catch Seungcheol's attention.

"Who's attention did my friends catch?" He asked with a teasing grin.

"My sister's; she swears she doesn't like them like that, but I'm pretty sure she would become as silent as a mouth if she's around them again."
Seungcheol laughed loudly, shaking his head. He looked quite relaxed, and his calmness was contagious, because suddenly all the nervousness you had felt while preparing was gone.
The path began to become more familiar as Seungcheol turned near Loco Thud's butcher shop. A large green wall opened up, leaving you in awe with each step you took closer to the forest.

No matter how much you saw it, the forest was still so beautiful that it seemed unreal.

"Where are we going?" you asked curiously, pausing for a few moments to watch a butterfly fly a short distance from your face.

"Are you hungry? I was thinking we could have a little picnic near the lake."

It hadn't been until that instant that you noticed the large backpack Seungcheol was carrying on his shoulders.

"I'm starving." You replied happily, touching your belly in anticipation of the food. "But you should have told me in advance; I would have brought some pastries from the bakery."

"No, it's on me. It was my idea. I managed to make Mingyu and Joshua bake these, though. So I bet they would taste delicious—probably not as good as the pastries your family sells, but I promise these will be good. I have tried them before."
"Trust me, I'm so hungry I could eat rocks." You joked.

Seungcheol made you walk to the spot where you both met each other the last time. There was a nice baby blue blanket on the floor and two tiny baby yellow pillows.

"When did you prepare this?" You asked, and it looked really pretty with the noise of the water running right next to your spot. The blanket was soft, and the pillow felt good under you.

"I bring these before going to your house. I wanted to ask Jeonghan and Joshua to help me, but they were busy. I got to steal Jeonghan's blanket though, so let's try to not demage it with food." He nervously laughed.

"No problem." You reassured him, stretching your legs and taking a deep breath of the fresh air.

Seungcheol opened his backpack, taking out from inside some orange juice, two cups, and a bunch of pastries. You couldn't help yourself but take a bite of one of the big, thin chocolate cookies; they were as big as your face.
Your eyes widened in amazement as a chocolate sparkle invaded your taste buds. The dough was so sweet, you felt like you could shiver with happiness.

Your hand scooped out some crumbs that had landed on your chin and clothes, covering your mouth as you continued to munch on the cookie. "It's so good!"

Seungcheol took a cookie identical to yours, devouring it in seconds. He nodded his head in approval, copying your hand position by hiding his own mouth behind it.

"These are Mingyu's; I always ask him to make this for my birthday because of how tasty they are."

"What did you promise him in exchange for these?" You asked him, laughing, "My siblings would make me pay them or do their chores for a whole month if I asked them to bake cookies for me."
Seungcheol laughed nervously. He had no idea how to tell you that he had promised Mingyu that he would take his nightly rounds if Mingyu accepted to bake stuff for his little date with you.

"I said I would do his laundry for a month." He replied instead. "Joshua was nicer; he asked me to do his bed instead for a week."

"You're the older one, aren't you?" You asked, nodding alongside Seungcheol when he confirmed it. "That's the blessing and the curse of the oldest; we can order around the house, but once they start growing up, they stop doing what we ask for if it isn't exchanged for a favor later." You laughed.

"Are you much older than your siblings?" Seungcheol asked and looked genuinely interested.
"Well, I'm three years older than Arianna and seven years older than Noah."

"You guys have such unique names," Seungcheol complimented. "I don't think I've ever heard someone with those names in town. I like them."

"Wait till you hear Noah's full name." You chuckled. "He's named after my mom's dying brother; apparently he asked her to name Noah after him. He's Noah Giovanni."

Seungcheol lay down on the blanket, his head on top of the small pillow, while his hands were comfortably crossed on his stomach.

"Two names? That's not usually the norm here."

"It isn't here. I had multiple friends and family members that had more than one name; some even had around three  names."You told him, lying down just like he was, enjoying the way the leaves on the trees were moving with the breeze, and sometimes some sunlight would make a quick appearance here and there.
Seungcheol's eyes were already on you when you turned to the side to see him more comfortably. He sent you a small smile when you both made eye contact.
"What about you? What's your other name?" Seungcheol's arm was under his face, his elbow pointing at you. He offered some orange juice that you accepted happily, sitting for some instants to take a sip of it. Your eyes moved to the water, and you were tempted to take some rocks and throw them in the water.

"I don't have any; the only one that has one is my brother." You mumbled, "But my mom told me once that if she could give me a second name, it would have been Isabella."
"You don't have a middle name, do you?" You asked him after some seconds of complete silence.
"No, but why don't you give me one?" He asked, moving forward to get some pancakes that he had told you beforehand had been made by Joshua. He had brought some honey, sugar, and butter to put on it.
"Me?" You asked with a chuckle. "I'm sad to inform you that my naming skills are not that good. I called a bunny pet that we had for a little bit of jumping because it jumped around a lot, and that's on my list of top-named objects and animals."
"Good thing to know that I'm not an object, then," he laughed. "Go ahead; if it's terrible, then the name would never leave this place."
"Seungcheol Oliver." You announced it proudly. It was the name of one of your childhood plushies that you sadly lost years ago in one of your family's moves to a new house.
"Oliver?" Seungcheol chuckled, nodding his head, satisfied. "Alright, I like it."
You took a bite of one of the brownies that were carefully placed on a plate, taking another sip of the orange juice. "Today's such a beautiful day." You sighed happily, closing your eyes when some breeze touched your face, moving your hair out of your face and out of your shoulders. Thankfully, it was already dry, and some of your curls have finally started to form in your wavy hair.
"I'm glad you're enjoying it." Seungcheol replied happily, and you could swear you had heard a purr coming from somewhere. "How do you say that in Italian?"
"Oggi è una bellissima giornata." You told him slowly so he could catch the pronunciation of each word. He copied the sound as closely as possible, but his tickling accent made it a little bit funny to hear. You guessed that was probably how you sounded speaking in Korean as well.
"I wish I could speak Italian as well; it sounds so beautiful." Seungcheol sighed.
"But you do speak more than one language." You encouraged him, "Don't you?"
"I understand a little bit of English because one of my brothers speaks English, and I can introduce myself in Chinese as well. I can name random objects too, like doors or water."
"Teach me how to say Hello, my name's Seungcheol. I feel bad whenever I go to your family's bakery and your mom's the one attending it because I just can't say anything to her."
"Wouldn't it be easier if I told you how to ask for what you want to buy instead? I'm pretty sure my mom will know your name by now." You told him, trying not to laugh as you remembered what had happened earlier in your house.
"One thing at a time," he told you. Instead, his eyes were looking at you with such sparkle that you felt something warm run throughout your body, making you smile without realizing it.
And so you continued the rest of the afternoon eating and talking. Seungcheol seemed to try to memorize every Italian word that came out of your mouth with great effort, and sometimes, when he thought you were distracted by throwing crumbs of homemade bread to the small fish swimming near where you were in the lake, you heard him practicing in whispers the pronunciation of those words.

"It's getting late," you yawned. You had no sign of trying to stand up because you really didn't want the afternoon to end.
"Do you have to go home already?" Seungcheol asked, his face not making the slightest attempt to hide the disappointment behind his face.

"Yes," you sighed, just as sad as Seungcheol. The afternoon had passed so quickly that you were surprised as the sun began to set to give way to night. Time seemed to have flown by in the blink of an eye, and what had left you most pleased was that you had felt so comfortable around him. "My mom will scold me if I don't come back now. This Sunday, she won't let me eat the lasagna she's been anticipating for us since last week." You smiled at him.

Seungcheol nodded, understanding. "I'll walk you home, then. It's getting late, and it can be quite dangerous to walk at this time alone. Come on." He was standing up, his palm facing you, as he was waiting for you to take it and stand up as well.
His skin felt a little rough to the touch; there were some calluses on it, and a cut you had just noticed was still healing. A soft layer of pinker skin covered it. It was much warmer than your icy hands, and the warmth spread through the rest of your body, especially on your rosy cheeks, as I let him hold yours firmly.

A hiss interrupted the moment as Seungcheol let go of your hand with a great leap backwards. The movement had been so sudden that it made you stagger, landing you on your buttocks.

"Cavolo!" You swallowed your cry of pain, biting your lower lip, as your hands shot up in his direction, your knees digging into Jeonghan's blanket. "Are you okay?" You asked worriedly, your voice rising a little higher than you had intended. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to touch your wound; is it bleeding? Are you in a lot of pain?"

You felt incredibly embarrassed and guilty about what had happened. Seungcheol had been an angel to you, and you had only returned a wound.
Seungcheol kept his hand clenched with his other hand; his knuckles had turned white from the force he was using to put pressure on the wound. The muscle in his arm was strained, and some of his veins had been marked on his wrist.
Seungcheol was bent forward, snarling slightly.
"I'm fine." He replied that his voice had become a mixture of a whisper and a growl.
"Are you sure? Let me see! God, I'm so sorry," you continued, standing up and approaching him. Seungcheol turned the other way, preventing you from seeing his palm.
"Yeah! It doesn't hurt that much; don't worry." He breathed out, his eyes were closed into two lines, and his lip was being attacked by his upper teeth.
"Well, it doesn't seem like that; don't be stubborn and let me see!" Your hand pushed Seungcheol with all your strength, attempting to turn him around, but it didn't phase him at all. "Seungcheol." You insisted.
He turned around, checking how much it hurt when he started applying less and less pressure to it.
His hand was so red you would have thought he had put it straight into the fire; his burns looked third-degree, and there were already distinct blisters around a perfect circle on the inside of it.

The circle was a perfect copy of your silver ring.

"Che cazzo?! I think you should put your hand in the water. Doesn't it burn?"
"No, no, that's it. It hardly hurts anymore; we should go back; you should be home before your mother scolds you."
Seungcheol put all the things in his backpack, biting his tongue when some things brushed against the wound on his hand. Luckily, to ease some of the guilt you felt, he allowed you to help him put it away.
Seungcheol escorted you home as promised, and before you went inside, he grabbed you by the wrist with the hand that was still intact.
"Thank you for agreeing to hang out today; I had a great time with you."
"I had a great time as well; it was really fun! I'm sorry again for hurting you." You mumbled, moving your feet and avoiding his eyes. "But I promise I'll make sure to bring some pastries the next time as an I'm sorry present."
"Next time?" Seungcheol replied with a big smile, and his fingers softly brushed away some hair that was brushing against your eyes.
"Well yeah, if you want to. But I might have to warn you; my siblings will come as well." You joked.
"I'll bring some of my friends as well, then. I bet our youngest will want to make friends."
The door suddenly opened, and a woman slightly taller than you was standing up with both of her hands on her hips, looking at you angrily.
"Dove diavolo eri? è passato il tempo in cui ti dicevo di tornare! Perché sei andato nella foresta quando ci sono state così tante voci su lupi mannari e bestie pericolose?"
You had no idea how I had discovered that you had been in the woods without one of your siblings ratting you out, but none of them knew (at least as far as you knew) where they were going to meet; not even you knew where they were going until they arrived at the picnic already arranged.
You felt a little embarrassed with your mother mentioning the supposed werewolf in front of Seungcheol, but looking at him for a few seconds, he seemed to be as lost as you were.
"Should I apologize?" Seungcheol asked you; his eyes were wide open, and suddenly his posture was perfect.
"No, I think you'd better leave. We can arrange our next friend's outing these days; come to the bakery anytime you want. I still owe you a treat as an apology."
Seungcheol said goodbye to you with a smile, and in a few minutes he was already disappearing through the forest.
The pain in his chest began to increase proportionally as he moved farther away from you.
But he tried to omit it; he had been with you for hours, and by now that should be enough for his wolf.
We'll see you the next day.
The burn on his hand still burned, and he just wanted to get home so someone could treat the wound. He had been such an idiot; he should have paid more attention to your silver accessories. Who else if he didn't want to end up dead before he confessed to you that he was a werewolf and that you were his mate?
Seungcheol came home with a contented vibration in his chest.
It had been a good day.

This is a work of fiction! Pls separate this from irl Jeonghan. We all know how respectful he is, so pls NO HATE towards any SVT members!
Tumblr media
Seungcheol is pissed. Towards their short encounter with his ex-best friend, who was also his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend. "Don't delight yourself. That's never going to happen," Seungcheol grits his teeth, holding Astrid's hand tighter in his grasp as they walk past a smirking Jeonghan.
Seungcheol knew what Jeonghan was implying. He knew the games he played. What he’s capable of- and Jeonghan wanted to ruin them both, keeping them on edge- to anger them.
Joshua, Jeonghan's model best friend, showed him on social media how the both of you officially became a couple- four years after Jeonghan dumped Astrid on the street, literally. Jeonghan knew it was bound to happen sooner or later, considering how he knew how Seungcheol felt all those years together as friends. As soon as he told his 'trustworthy best friend' about the girl he had feelings for, Jeonghan stole Astrid from Seugcheol. He kept a facade to entertain Astrid during their relationship, only wanting to keep Astrid for 'appearance purposes', treating her as a trophy to show off. Jeonghan never truly loved her as a person. Until Jeonghan received an offer abroad for his modeling career- ending the relationship quickly.
“Don’t worry, love,” Seungcheol glanced down at Astrid, slowing down his pace once they were at a good distance away from Jeonghan. “I’ll make sure he doesn’t do anything at all. He won’t go anywhere near you.” He rubs her hand with his thumb still holding onto her, soothing her from the anxiety building up inside.
Tears began to form in her eyes, threatening to fall as she gave her boyfriend a small smile. “I know..” She knew deep down, Jeonghan still had an effect on her.
***
Back then, Astrid thought she was the happiest and luckiest girl alive to be with Jeonghan. But that happiness didn’t last long behind closed doors.
Everything went well into the relationship for the first couple months- or so she thought, realizing that Jeonghan wasn’t exactly the person she knew.
From an outside person’s point of view, they looked like the perfect it couple but from Astrid’s viewpoint it was far from that.
In any way possible, Jeonghan would gaslight her self-esteem, manipulate her from social interactions especially from her finances. There was never a day when he’d compliment her. Even if he did, that only occurred as an act to the public within their peers. Often times by the end of the day, Jeonghan would surprise Astrid with expensive gifts and shower her with affection, such as cuddling and kissing. And Astrid thought that was normal in the relationship despite all the emotional abuse he gave her. She didn’t know any better than be a supportive and loving girlfriend. She was too kindhearted. She thought ‘If I obey his wishes, then he will treat me better. I’ll be a good girlfriend.’ There were countless nights where she’d barely get any sleep at all and if she was lucky enough- she would cry herself to sleep.
She gave everything to Jeonghan, her first love.
The last few months into their relationship, witnesses from their peers had spoken up about Jeonghan’s infidelity. There were times where Astrid witnessed Jeonghan flirting openly with other ladies from their school. She’d confront him about it, question him about his actions and Jeonghan would reply with “Why are you concerned about what I’m doing? I’m just talking to them. We’re just friends.” With every confrontation, Jeonghan would deflect the argument by degrading her.
“God, you’re acting just like my crazy ex- Can we not talk about it?”
“Why haven’t you been working out? Don’t you know you’re getting bigger? You should be more like her-“
“What will you do without me? No one will look your way if you’re like that.”
Within the last month into their relationship, it grew worse. He would constantly be out with girls at night while she cried herself to sleep, fully aware of his actions. Jeonghan continued to discourage her and began to physically abuse her. Astrid was tired; mentally, physically and emotionally drained. She lost hope into their relationship, questioning if she should leave but she hesitated. More than anything she was scared, alone and believed every lie Jeonghan spouted. His abuse stopped after two occurrences, which lead to their separation and Seungcheol saved her by the dead end of the night.
That same night Jeonghan left Astrid on the street, she was contemplating who to contact considering her phone was low on battery. She quickly contacted the first person who appeared up on her screen and sent her current location. Within seconds before her phone died, the said person replied, ‘Wait for me. I’ll go to you.’
She didn’t doubt Seungcheol for a second. He drove to her location and found her sitting on the benches, her face stained with tear marks, swollen eyes and red nose. He quickly got out of his car and ran to her, engulfing her into a hug. He caressed her hair as she couldn’t hide her emotions from him, breaking into a sobbing mess as she held onto him tightly, “It’s okay. Shh, I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.”
***
The trauma was still there but she was slowly healing with the help of Seungcheol by her side. He was patient with Astrid. He gave her every reassurance when she was at her lowest. Respected her space when she needed it. He would pamper her with affection, shower her with words of encouragement to get through the day. Seungcheol gave her love and security. She felt safe in his arms. The epitome of ‘if comfort was a person.’
Seungcheol's heart sank witnessing his partner break into tears. He faced her, cupping her face into his hands, and lightly squished her cheeks, "Trust me. I'm right here- always, Ash." He lowered his head to kiss her on the forehead. He would do anything for his partner to smile, preventing her from harm and never wanting to see Astrid cry.
Astrid smiles at his kiss. She rests her head on his chest and wraps her arms around his waist, pulling him close to a hug. In return Seungcheol wraps his arms around her, his chin resting on top of her head, gently playing with the ends of her hair whilst rubbing her back. They stayed in that position until Astrid calmed down from her anxiety.
With a deep breath, Astrid blinked away her tears and looks up at Seungcheol, “I’m good now, Cheol.”
He looks down with his brows knitted together, concern in his eyes, “Are you sure? Do you still want to continue on with our date? We can go back to my place and I can order us take out instead.”
As much as Seungcheol loved going on dates with Astrid during their free availability, her well-being mattered more than anything.
“Are you sure? You already made reservations at the restaurant though. It’d be a waste to not go,” Astrid pouted, unlocking herself from the hug.
“I want you to feel comfortable despite anything. We can always reschedule it,” he nods, pulling out his phone from the back pocket of his jeans with one hand and the other interlocking with hers as he plants a kiss onto her knuckles, “So, what do you say? It’s your call, Princess.”
