Odd Moon-related Connections in Genshin Lore
- Glaze Lillies and Nilotpala Lotuses only bloom at night
- Glaze Lillies may have been the favorite flower of Guizhong, who’s hair was grey/white and who’s outfit had stardust on it (she was the god of dust, so unless she was a god of stardust specifically that’s some odd things about her)
- Nilotpala Lotuses bloomed at the bleeding feet of the Goddess of Flowers after being cast out of Heaven in the wake of the Seelie disaster
- There is at least one account in Sumeru that claims Liloupar came to the people in a moonbeam. Quote: “Our prayers to the Goddess of Flowers have borne fruit. Her envoy came to us in a moonbeam, granting us life-saving medicine and clean water … …She called herself Liloupar, born of the lilies” and later in that same passage, Quote: “At moonrise, she warned us that the water from the canal may carry disease.” So many mentions of the moon in one text about Liloupar and her relation to the Goddess of Flowers.
- Seelies seem to have a moonlit sky with sparse clouds reflected in their bodies, the bright orb in their heads looks like a moon.
- Guizhong’s death produced a cloud of dust that blocks out the sky and creates a darkened area in Liyue.
- Istaroth was said to be responsible for the Sin Shades, who only show up in Evernight in the dark.
- Nahida has some moon connections in her titles, and she has white hair and pale skin, like Paimon, who has a starry pattern on her scarf like Guizhong had on her robes.
- The Goddess of Flowers built a city for her offspring, the Jinn, and she called it Ay-Khanoum, translated to English that’s the City of the Moon Maiden.
- You can link the mythologies of the Goddess of Flowers and King Deshret to King Solomon and Astarte, who was a version of Ishtar, who is the root for the name Istaroth
- The power of the Aranara is the power of dreams, they exist in the dreamscape. And with how much we use a harp to connect with Aranara, it’s just as likely that music is linked to dreams. And Venti, one of Istaroth’s thousand winds, is a bard who knows all songs past and future, and plays a harp.
- The moon sisters were named Aria, Sonnet, and Canon, literally musical terminology.
- There’s probably a connection between the three moon sisters and Teyvat’s concepts of Time, Memory, and Dreams
- One of Venti’s powers is that he can pull up memories from the far flung past
- The quest for Time and Wind has these sun dial looking things that are actually moon dials since the puzzle only activates at night
- Seelies make a jingling tune, Nahida makes a jingling tune, the Goddess of Flowers taught Rukkhadevata the “source song” which birthed the race of Aranara, and the Pari fought the abyss using the Great Songs of the Khavarena, which seem to summon pure elemental energy aligned with Dendro.
- One of the fairytales that was weirdly important to the Abyss Order before we learned that fairy tales could hold the truth about the past if it’s been rewritten/deleted in Irminsul was the Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies. I’ve already noted a few pale characters with crowns or royal status but there was also a character called the Night Mother, who seemed to be the villain of the story. Another odd Night connection.
- Andersdotter wrote The Boar Princess, her signature rose design is on the cover. A rose is also on the cover of The Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies, so could she have written that too? As a member of the Hexenzirkel, it’s pretty likely.
- The Seelies were said to be beautiful pale people, and Rukkhadevata is pale with white hair, as is Nahida. Another trait they share are elf ears. Klee is pale with fair hair, and she’s an elf; from what we know of Alice, her mom, she could look much the same. Although he’s old, Pulcinella of the Fatui Harbingers is also an elf with white hair and pale skin, fitting the description. Seelies are fairies, and elves in real world folklore are considered fae, so could the Seelies have given us the elf race in Genshin? Or the Moon Sisters, who presided over the Seelies? Elves seem to be as long lived as gods, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
- I think Aria, Sonnet, and Canon represented Memories, Time, and Dreams, symbolizing the past, present, and future respectively. I don’t know the order of the goddesses in their roles, but I do know they had a fight and two died, leaving only one, and wouldn’t it be something if that surviving moon goddess became Istaroth, the god of Time? Maybe even Irminsul came from the death of the moon goddess of Memory? I don’t know what could’ve happened to the goddess of Dreams, but maybe her death caused the constellations that are canonically made up of the crystalline fruits of Irminsul in the sky box of the Firmament.

a short recap/analysis of 'the pale princess and the six pygmies'
i've been re-reading the in-game books and i'd like to remind you of / introduce you to the wonderful anomaly that is 'the pale princess and the six pygmies'!
BACKGROUND
it's the book that an abyss mage is trying to steal during lisa's quest (which is not optional!), claiming it held an important secret relevant to the abyss order; at first, everyone was kinda confused by it: why are they looking for a/that specific fairytale? yes, it could be real, but what's so special about it? WELL, after this most recent (3.3) archon quest we know why - fairytales can survive irminsul memory erasure!! so the story in this book is highly likely to be one of those parables like the one nahida tells
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE CONTENTS OF THE BOOK
the first (and only available) volume provides a character description: the Night Mother (with no heart and no mouth, sin incarnate) who rules over the Land of Night and the Pale Princess who rules over the Moonlight Forest (where pale, blonde, blue-eyed people lived)
Tumblr media
the previews for the other volumes introduce the other characters:
Tumblr media
the Light Prince and the Six Pygmies. the former teams up with the Pale Princess to "*save* the Moonlight Forest". the pair then meets the six pygmies. however, the subsequent volumes insinuate that the pygmies are the antagonists/traitors - vol 5 describes the pygmies' plot as "sinister", and vol 6 describes their plot as "nefarious". this is a far cry from snow white and the 7 dwarves which the title seems to parallel (the dwarves weren't generally evil)
Tumblr media
nevertheless, the "meeting" between the princess, prince and pygmies (vol. 4) seems to indicate an attempt at a truce. the last volume (vol 7) is just said to include the Night Mother's prophecy (which is most likely the main part relevant to the abyss order)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ANALYSES
NOW, there are so SO many analyses (and i'll cover some), but before I do I would like to point something out:
the fact that so many stories from vastly different periods could somehow fit this one story outline is VERY interesting, especially given the new context provided by the samsara quest, and the idea that "in this world, everything runs in a loop"
could this be the tale of the overall loop of teyvat?
Tumblr media
anyways, i'll cover the following analyses in more or less detail:
the recent past
the current-ish events
the distant past
note on abbreviations: NM - the Night Mother, PP - the Pale Princess, LP - the Light Prince, 6P - the Six Pygmies, MF -the Moonlight Forest
NM - celestia*, PP - gold, 6P - archons, LP - ?albedo/dain/7th pygmy, MF - khaenriah
the Night Mother could be symbolizing Celestia. the best piece of evidence for this would be the quote "her punishments were always unexpected", which could be alluding to the celestial nails (at the same time, after a few of them you'd think they'd be more expected lol just don't make progress and try to know more than you should, and you should be good, ok? /j)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also! it has not been said that the night mother doesn't have eyes (unlike a mouth and a heart), which is interesting because visions have been described as "the heavens' eyes" by nahida
Tumblr media
it is then possible that the moonlight forest could be Khaenri'ah. some evidence:
not ruled by the night mother (Khaenri'ah was said to be a goddless nation ruled by the people)
there was a "constant lack of sunlight" (Khaenri'ah was underground)
additionally, the following quote:
"The only thing she could not bear was the occasional ray of moonlight that made it through the clouds. The light that penetrated the walls of darkness always irritated her."
that light could represent human achievement / progress / arrogation, which we have repeatedly seen irks Celestia (most prominently in the case of Orobashi and Khaenri'ah)
Tumblr media
this would make the Pale Princess someone like rhinedottir/gold, a.k.a. albedo's creator, as a master of the Art of Khemia and Alchemy (which has been shown to possess the ability to create life)
Tumblr media
the Light Prince would then be someone who would be willing to help save Khaenriah, like dain or pierro or albedo (aether could also fit the description, especially after the most recent archon quest, but this wouldn't work for lumine so i'll discard it for the time being); alternatively it could be another Khaenrian (the king) or the 7th pygmy, but that means it would have to be either Venti or Zhongli (the only two male archons)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. (the current-ish events) NM - ?; PP - 7th pygmy (tsaritsa?); LP - a khaenrian (pierro?); 6P - archons; MF - a nation (snezhnaya?)
the trouble here is the NM, bc Celestia does rule over the tsaritsa, so MF would be a part of the land of night, and i currently don't have an alternative
3. for the distant past it could be telling the story of the second who came and the seelie demise, and the seelies definitely match the description of the "light" inhabitants as well, so the LP could be the "master of the heavens" and the 6P would be the second who came (for some more "fall of the seelies" lore, please refer to this artifact set)
Tumblr media
note that the analyses also heavily depend on how you answer the following questions:
are the Six Pygmies under the Night Mother's or the Pale Princess' juristiction, or are they independent entities? if so, which land are they native to?
is the light prince an inhabitant of the moonlight forest?
so, yeah, much to think about! (i also wanted to include a cross-referential analysis of the Night Mother/Pale Princess and Nottfriga/Madgalene from Hex & Hound, but dw we'll leave that for another day lol)
Tumblr media
and that's a wrap!! that was a lot, and if you made it all the way here kudos to you, thanks for reading - here's a flower!
Tumblr media
do let me know of any mistakes i made or any alternative analyses you enjoy!

Story: 4 out of 5 Smut: 4 out of 5
Mother of monsters, indeed.
This book is a rollercoaster of emotions! The Seelie King would have you believe this is a story about good versus evil, and it is, but the evil ones are not who the king suggests.
With the Seelie princess “stolen”, I almost hated Fia for how she reacted once placed in the Unseelie kingdom. But she soon learns not all Unseelie are terrible and that her “uncle” and his trusted advisors were wrong.
When Fia finally adjusts to her new home and her connection to the Unseelie Prince, I was so happy! And then their wedding brought forth the tears, as well as the misunderstanding afterwards, but Fia getting revenge cemented my love for her.
Oh and did I mention there’s a dragon..? Haha
Now enjoy my ramblings...
* So the prince of Eldorn is being held prisoner in Callula..? 👀
* Why do I get the feeling Regin is going to be the jealous best friend?
* Her uncle wants to kill Colvin? Fuck him. I don’t even know this Prince but I like him so far..
* Holy shit, she set him free in the middle of the night. AND HE KISSED HER!
* Colvin is a dragon?!
* Oh, Fia, you fool. Did you seriously tell Regin that you released Colvin?
* Don’t you “three months later” me 😤
* Oh no. Did you seriously start an affair with Regin? You really are a fool.
* Damn. Fia being outed by the Unseelie Queen made her “a traitor to the crown” and now her uncle, the king, has everyone hunting her. What dicks.
* Fuck you, Regin! You gave her up. That was such a dick move.
* Colvin’s there!
* They’re taking her 😨 She’s to marry him. And boy was he not happy with the guard who pushed Fia and made her cut open her head. Yikes. That dude was gutted 😂
* Holy shit. Colvin and Fia getting hot and heavy in her closet.. 😏
* Mates, mates, mates.
* And then getting interrupted in his room by his mother 😂
* Even if this Seelie Princess of mine could somehow find it within herself to stomach my presence, to enjoy me as I did her, any future she might find herself able to envision would not arrive. No matter how much I wished to give her everything.
* A blood drinking dragon. Nice 😏
* The audacity of Regin to show up to the engagement ball and say he misses Fia. Fuck you, dude. And Fia, what the fuck?! He’s a traitor. Don’t entertain him.
* He was every fear I’d ever had and every wish I’d never known I’d longed for. A soul as dark as night and a heart of cloudless mornings, this contradiction of a male had me tethered tightly to him long before he made it irreversible.
* Holy hell. They mated!
* He’s poisoning himself 🥺
* Holy shit. Her dragon mate saved her from the bloodhounds. God I want a dragon.
* Lmao. He literally picked her up with his teeth and dropped her onto his back 😂
* You know.. I’m not even mad that the queen and Colvin knew Fia was his suspected mate long before she found him in that dungeon. The queen is right.. she would have rotted under her “uncle’s” thumb.
* “Right now, I need you to leave.” // “Fine, but don’t you dare forget… I fucking love you, Fia. I’ll love you regardless of what you choose to do with me. Until every star burns out.”
* They fucking drugged them at their wedding?! Fuck these assholes!
* Break my fucking heart why don’t you 😭
* Fuck yes. She killed her “uncle” and crowned her aunt queen 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
* They had a daughter 😭😭😭
* “Until every star burns out.” // “And the moon ceases to hunt the sun.”

my veins full of sweets, the forbidden lines slowly fade away - choi yeonjun
forbidden love, dark fairy prince!yeonjun x light fairy princess!yn, mention of death
synopsis : dark fairy! yeonjun finally confesses his feelings for you, however as you start to agree to his feelings, fate has different plans.. and so does the head of the light fairy community
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“yn… i love you…”
you turned your gaze towards yeonjun, who crouched behind your sitting figure. his hands braiding flowers into your hair, as he abruptly stopped, catching sight of your innocent eyes. playing with the flower between his hands, twirling it.
“junnie.. y’know there’s a strict line between dark fairies and light fairies.. the council would never let us even get close, in fact.. even our meetings are quite against everything they stand for.” you replied, however, your eyes just couldn’t resist the sight of his strawberry pink lips. you looked into his dark orbs.
“but.. who said the council has to know..?” he smirked, taking your hand into his, pressing the back of your hand against his lips. the lips that you so desired to kiss. in all honesty, you had returning feelings for the fae that was still crouched behind you.
“yeonjun.. i really love you, too.” you admit, your hand coming to cup his cheek, your free hand pressed against his chest. “i can never help but feel like you light up fireworks in my tummy.. nobody else has ever done that, you take care of me like no one else does.. and i’m-.. i’m willing to take a risk to be with you.”
“my pretty princess, you surely would do anything for me, huh ?” he rhetorically asked, knowing your response to his curious words. you had the same effect on him that you claimed to receive from him. yeonjun as the prince knew that his kingdom had no problem with dating a light fairy, in fact, it was quite celebrated. however, your kingdom had low expectations for the dark faeries, they truly thought that whatever connection light fairies had to dark fairies was just a mistake and that they were just trying to play with your feelings.
“of course i would, you’ve done so much for me. you’ve truly won me over.” you giggle, seeing yeonjun’s lips turn upwards. he truly felt like he was on cloud 9, whatever that meant, he heard his human friends say it quite often. there were times when yeonjun would travel outside of the seelie realm and into the ‘real world’.
his hand lifted your chin, taking in your beauty before deciding to press a deep passionate kiss on your lips. a tingling sensation in your chest as you desired to keep your lips warm by having his lips on yours. although you pulled away, deciding to control yourself for the day.
“hmm.. it’s time for my princess to go, isn’t it ?” yeonjun spoke up, realizing that the sky was beginning to glow orange. the sun setting on the horizon, he smiled, taking a look at you and carefully caressing your cheek. he stood up, pulling out his hand for you as you gladly accepted it.
“unfortunately so, but we’re still on for thursday, right ? i truly wish that i could invite you to the ball, however, we don’t have the pleasure of meeting in front of the council.. or really any light fae.” your voice sounded disappointed, yeonjun brushed his thumb against your cheek.
“don’t be so disappointed, my love. be patient, we’ll be able to be with each other soon enough, plus i completely understand that i can’t come, we can always just discuss another meeting.” he grinned, his face beaming with pure sunshine. as he pulled you into a hug, lightly and gently squeezing you. he pulled you away, pressing one last peck on your lips. picking up your basket and holding it out to you.
“see ya’ thursday, yeonjun.”
“bye bye, my love.” yeonjun’s guards walked up next to him. smiling at the idea of seeing their prince so caught up in such a lovely relationship.
“you really do love her, your majesty.”
“i do, i just wish that the light fairies could stop stereotyping dark fairies, maybe then we could finally have a peaceful and normal life.”
you practically skipped into your mother’s office after hearing word that she needed to see you. your basket hanging on your forearm as you entered, face beaming with pure happiness. while your mother was happy to see you, she wasn’t very happy from the reports that she had gotten.
“yn..” your mother called out to you, something about her was that she had been in lead of the council for a rather long time, and you were next in line. “my knights have reported that they caught sight of you with the dark fairy, yeonjun choi.. is this a fact or something that they might have mistook..?”
“i think.. they must’ve seen somebody else, i was just in the forests, out for a picnic.” you stuttered feeling quite anxious due to your current interrogation and.. you didn’t feel well lying to your mother, you hadn’t really lied about your relationship with yeonjun until now, you just avoided speaking the truth.
“but yn.. you decorated that basket when you were just a kid, don’t you think that it looks a bit familiar to the basket in this picture ?” your mother turns over a paper, showing a clear picture of you and yeonjun. it was clearly obvious that it was you in the picture and maybe this was all a test to see if you were willing to tell your mother the truth.
“i’m sorry, mother. i just.. we were just talking, and i know that the council doesn’t like any relations to dark fairies so i didn’t tell you..”
“unfortunately, you’re right. my sweet princess, you know that you can’t go around seeing the dark fae, they’re bound to hurt you at one point or another. so instead of immediately turning you in, as your mother, i must protect you. you have to choose, the dark fae or the light fae.”
“c-can i talk to yunjin..?” you questioned, tilting your head as you attempted to hide the sheer nervousness, even though you weren’t very successful in that mission.
“yn.. you shouldn’t even have to hesitate.. but yes, you may talk to yunjin.” your mother was right, you shouldn’t have had to hesitate.. not when you just told yeonjun that you were willing to risk everything to be with him, yet here you were. you quickly tried to exit your mother’s office, but she had one more thing to say. “from now on, you won’t exit this palace without an escort.”
you silently acknowledged her words, leaving the room. you spotted yunjin beginning to exit the palace, running over to her side. the blonde could only stop in her tracks as she turned around to see whose footsteps she was hearing. she grinned as she noticed you.
“something wrong ? you look so… scared.” yunjin asked, commentating on the way that you looked.
“i think… i’m going to run away.” you state, yunjin’s facial expression changing into a worried one, she grabbed onto your hand. both of her hands wrapped around your singular hand.
“why ? you can’t just.. run away..? yn, you have a duty here, you’re the only one trained to take your mother’s spot and you’ve been assigned with so many tasks these past few days.”
“i get it.. but-.. i’m not giving up on love.” since yunjin was your best friend, she knew about you and yeonjun. she knew that your were quite serious about him, but she couldn’t just encourage you and your plan to run away.
“yn, yeonjun is like the definition of dark fairies, he’s literally the meaning of temptation.. do you know how many light fairies have turned against us because they ‘fell in love.’” yunjin questions you, her gaze following you quite intently as you began to pace around the hall.
“there’s a reason they don’t return, yunjin.. the council doesn’t support these relationships and they decide to just banish any person who loves a dark fae.. it’s not right.. they separate faeries from their families, all due to fact that they’ve experienced true love..” yunjin let out a sigh, knowing fully well that she had no chance in changing your mind no matter what.
“when ?”
“well… umm, first i kinda wanted to meet up with him.. but i need an escort..” you replied, “are you free ?”
“i am, i was just leaving to head back home.. why ?”
“he usually spends a bit of time in our meeting place, can you ‘escort me’ ?” you ask your friend, hoping that she will be able to aid you in your desires. she simply nods, holding your hand and guiding you out the palace. however as soon as you make it out, you are stopped by a few guards.
“are you out to meet your boyfriend ?” a specific guard asks, you can recognize that voice. he took off his helmet, showing the familiar face of huening kai.
“no…” you lie, a bit of guilt pouring over you for lying to your rather close friend. however, you couldn’t say what you were up to, or else kai was sure to lead you back to the palace and to your mother.
“y’know, soobin told us to keep an eye on you. especially since we heard that you were out seeing a dark fairy.. you really should be careful, life isn’t like what it seems like..” huening advised, “i’ll come with you, wherever the two of you go.”
“ah kai… it’s just that yn has something pretty private to show me ? something quite personal.. we were only leaving to get a bit of privacy..” yunjin attempted to convince him, which worked quite successful as huening simply nodded before guiding the guards behind him into the palace. you smiled at yunjin, happy for her save, she seemed to be quite proud of herself as well.
you took yunjin’s wrist guiding her to your and yeonjun’s meeting spot. running through the forest, you eventually ran into yeonjun’s guards.
“where’s his highness ?” you questioned, trusting his guards to give you directions, however they were wary of yunjin. yeonjun had told his guards about keeping you safe, which meant they weren’t really okay knowing that your secret would be revealed in front of someone else.
“your highness, are you sure it would be safe for you to expose your secret in front of another light fae ?” one of his guards whispers, only getting a nod in return.
“the secret has gotten out… her majesty already knows..” you admit, the guards’ faces immediately appearing with fear. they turned around, one telling the other to go get the prince. although, the prince beat them to it. running to you with his arms completely open, only to wrap around your body.
“are you okay ? have they done anything to hurt you ?” he practically interrogates you, pulling away only to put his hands on your cheeks.
“i’m fine.. for now.. being her majesty’s daughter comes with its benefits, instead of instantly turning me into the council… she’s making me choose between the light fae and the dark fae.. junnie, i don’t know what to do-“
“yn, you know what you have to do.. you have to choose your own kind. if you choose me, then you’re bound to never see me again, they’ll banish you.. but if you choose the light fae, then maybe you’ll have a chance to maybe see me in the future..”
“but jun.. i want to leave. i don’t want to spend my life without you, i don’t want to face any kind of banishment just because i decided to follow my heart.. we agreed that we would do anything for each other, and i want to run and hide from the council.. i want to wake up every morning in your arms. i want to feel your sugary sweet kisses each and every day. you’re so addictive to me, jun. it’s nearly like my veins are full of sweets.. please my prince.”
yeonjun couldn’t help but feel guilty, all of this was because of him. you’re craving to run away because of him. if he hadn’t approached you that one day then you would’ve stayed as the innocent light fairy that you were. however, he also knew that he had to recognize the council’s misdeeds. there was no need for light fae and dark fae to be separated. the light needs the dark, life needs death, you could only feel happiness if you feel sadness. the earth need a moon. you need yeonjun.
“alright, my sweet princess.. you can come, okay.. but my palace won’t be nearly as majestic and innocent as the light fairy palace. there is some seriously dark stuff, but it’s nothing too scary.. and your friend ? she won’t snitch on us, right ?”
you turn to take a look at yunjin, tilting your head, quietly asking her as well.
“she won’t have to snitch.” you heard your mother’s voice, as she appeared right next to yunjin, with kai and his fellow guards behind her. he appeared apologetic, he didn’t mean to snitch you out, but the second that he arrived to her majesty’s office quarters.. she asked where you had been and he accidentally said the truth about seeing you outside and leaving with yunjin. he truly wish he could’ve taken back his words, he had noticed how happy you had been the past few months and he didn’t want to destroy that happiness even if it meant getting punished for ‘treason.’ “yn, my princess, how many times do i have to tell you to stay away from the dark fae ?”
“too many times.. i lost count..” you honestly answer, backing up into yeonjun’s chest. his hands rested on your shoulders, as his guards stood with high alert, this wasn’t just about protecting their prince, but also you.. after all you were yeonjun’s love, they had to make sure that you were safe.
“your majesty, with all due respect.. i think yn is in my hands now, and whether or not you respect it, yn’s decision is to stay with us dark fairies. you’re aware that once light fairies agree to stay with dark fairies, you can’t do anything.” he spoke with a little bit of sass in his voice.
“i can do something, yeonjun.. if it concerns the life of my own daughter then i will do anything to keep her away from dark fae.” your mother grumbles, you hadn’t seen her so upset in such a long time.
“is it really my fault that she fell in love with temptation or is it the council’s fault for not allowing to let your citizens seek what they so desire ?”
“she doesn’t love you, yeonjun.. she’s only hooked on the idea of you.. and you’re not any better. that’s why the council is so against the dark fae, don’t make it seem like we’re so oppressive towards you and your kind.”
“well when you say it like that, it quite sounds like you’re trying to degrade me and my ‘kind’, however.. i won’t disappoint, yn, so i suggest that you move out of our way..”
“i’m not backing down, yeonjun. either you hand me back my daughter or we will have to punish you.”
“and how would that work ? your council is only eligible for light fairies.. for the dark faerie’s council, i am doing absolutely nothing wrong.. or are you really just so self absorbed that you want to arrest me for using my power to win yn over.. you can do that too, but as soon as an investigator checks yn and i.. well they’ll know that i haven’t done anything to hurt your highness. you’re the same person who practically threatened your own daughter to not follow her heart.. the punishment of banishment isn’t really as vile as taking the life of light and dark faeries just because they have emotional connections to one another.”
“mother..” your head turned to her, eyes widened. her lips trembling, she never thought that the truth would be revealed. she couldn’t bear to come eye to eye with your disappointment. she kept it a secret for a reason, she didn’t want to let you down.. but yeonjun was right, she had completely lied about the punishment that her own daughter was going to receive.
“yn.. i did it to protect you..”
“by what ? giving me a false sense of hope that maybe even if i got caught that i would somehow be able to return ? and you gave me the ‘benefit of the doubt’ by giving me a chance to rethink if i wanted to get banished or not… but i didn’t even know that i was going to be killed.”
“you wouldn’t have gotten killed, i have the power to stop that from happening..”
“but, the council doesn’t accept any kind of bias in the court.. so would you have really done everything in your power to save your daughter ?” yeonjun was keen on getting you out of the light fairy kingdom, only because.. in all reality, the kingdom was full of evil hidden by the form of light. “my kingdom may not seem so innocent, but i’m glad that my court doesn’t build itself off of lies.. so how about we give yn one last chance to decide.. if she chooses to come with me, you’re all the more welcome to come visit, and she must be able to visit you and her friend without any sort of problems from the council.. i, myself, will ensure to secure her with my best guards and even accompany her with my own presence. and if she chooses to stay with you, then i must be allowed to visit her and she will be able to visit me, again with no issues. and this entire encounter must be kept between the people here.. no issues from the council at all.”
“you must be out of your mind, choi yeonjun.”
you turned back to go face to face with yeonjun, his eyes looking down at you. he saw a small frown on your face, he lifted your chin with his thumb and pointy fingers. his eyebrows couldn’t help but furrow with worry washing over him.
“are you okay ?” he whispered, he knew that he might’ve seemed quite cruel with the things that he had spoken out about your majesty and the council, but he was sick and tired of your mother leaving you out in the dark. he knew that the truth was quite hard to come to terms with, but sometimes you need to see the truth for the sake of your own being.
“mhmm… i just.. i really want to go with you, yeonjun. but i’m scared.. scared that she won’t leave you alone if i go with you. what if she tries to hurt you after all of this..”
“yn.. remember that we promised to risk our lives for each other, that i would do anything to end up with you, and i will gladly do so if it means living a life with you.”
“yeonjun.” your mother speaks up, her voice still quite mumbled. “you can continue your relationship with yn… but.. she really won’t be safe in the light fae kingdom. i hate to say it, but you’re right, she’ll have to leave with you.”
“thank you for understanding, your majesty.. yunjin, if it’s not too much.. may you pack my things ?” your mother’s heart ached hearing you not call out with your genuine affection for her. you needed a moment to process the fact that she was okay with the idea of losing you, because even with her claims of not letting anyone hurt you.. she was always in support of the council, the council came first before you did in her eyes.
yunjin could only nod, feeling teary eyed due to your sudden departure. however you were always going to leave and she should’ve come to accept that, but she grew up by your side. although, she didn’t have to worry about you any longer, knowing that yeonjun seemed to have proven himself worthy of taking care of you. you came face to face with her, embracing her in your arms.
“promise to visit whenever you’re free ? we can always have our girls night any time that you are free or in need of one.”
“you better stay out of trouble, you’re quite the troublemaker without me..” she pulled away, smiling at you, before turning her gaze over to yeonjun. “and with all due respect your highness, if you dare hurt our princess, we won’t hesitate to find you.”
yunjin threatened, however neither her or yeonjun had anything to worry about. yeonjun had complete intentions of taking the greatest care for you. and yunjin would realize that sooner or later. “run along now with your lover, i’ll be sure to get you your things.”
○・•*~☆ ○・•*~☆ ○・•*~☆ ○・•*~☆ ○・•*~☆ ○・•*~☆
your eyes watched as the moon began to settle into the night sky, high in the distance, with white specs accompanying it in its rather lonely journey. your hands on the concrete ledge of the balcony, it was right outside of yeonjun’s resting quarters, lovely plants decorating the grayish area. the dark fae kingdom had proven to not be as dark as people made it out to seem. a few sights catching your attention with how beautiful they were.
“are you alright, my darling princess ?” yeonjun questioned, walking up behind you and wrapping his arms around you as his chin rested on your shoulder. you could only move your head up and down, a gentle grin expressing the excitement that you felt to start this new journey with yeonjun.
“i’m all good, you must be tired.. you had to work all day.” you commentated, yeonjun squeezed your body just a bit, ensuring that he was gentle with his movements.
“well.. i would certainly love to get rest, but only if i could get somebody to accompany me to bed.” he smirked, a tingling feeling still lingering in your tummy.
“oh just what have you done to me, my sugary prince ? you can’t have me feeling this flustered already.” you straightforwardly said, “is this your little secret dark fae power that you possess ?”
yeonjun chuckled, as he pulled away a bit, only causing you to turn around. you took a look at him, getting absorbed in his dark orbs, a purple glow from the natural lighting reflecting off of his pretty face. “mmmm.. you’ve got it all twisted, you’re my secret little power. you give me all the strength i need to do anything i have to.. y’know i’m not lying, dark fairies aren’t too different from light fairies, we’re just living out a ‘punishment’ due to our bloodline and predecessors.”
“another hypocrisy in the council’s rather weak stance, huh ?” you spoke, yeonjun’s hands caressing yours, taking in your warmth on his rather cold hands.
“you already know it, cmon, honey.. let’s get some rest..”
“alright.” you took one last look at the moon, the darker the night, the brighter the stars. life needs death. growth may only be accomplished after experiencing pain. hate is not capable of driving itself out, only love is.
yeonjun, the so called darkness, pressed a kiss onto your cheeks. a warm sensation springing up from inside of you, feeling his love.. feeling the strong emotion that he had for you. he pulled away, only to take one last look into your eyes before he pressed one last kiss onto your lips
you and yeonjun were the epitome of equinox

I wanted to collect my thoughts on the newly released book Perinheri, focusing on the usual overlooked suspects such as Kaeya, the Seelie and the connection to Princess Fischl.
Tumblr media
TL;DR: Kaeya is (probably?) not cursed because he's half-Seelie
I strongly recommend reading the book first, which you can buy in Fontaine's book shop. Link to the official website here.
Perinheri is "based on a legendary story known throughout Khaenri'ah, but there are none left who can verify this." Ok, first of all, Kaeya and Zhongli are right there, you even put their names in the book!! Second of all, Khaenri'ah is only ever referred to as the "Kingdom" throughout the rest of the story. 🤨 Most likely because it went by a different name back then.
I think most people are aware this book is probably connected to Arlecchino because of her constellation Ignis Purgatorius which is Latin for Cleansing Fire. In the book, the titular Perinheri is made to crawl through a dark corridor filled with ash. He is pulled out of the other side, "reborn".
This fits with depictions of Purgatory:
The faithful dead go through the furnace and once purified ascend towards Heaven. Some of the faithful are plucked by angels, the result of intercessory prayers.
That being said, I don't really want to dig into the Arlecchino connection too much, since we'll find out what her deal is in a few weeks anyway, and with story spoilers running rampant, it won't be much fun anymore.😮‍💨
FALLEN SEELIE
But isn't it fascinating how one of the characters' name is Angelica who guided Perinheri out of a subterranean realm?
Kaeya has connections to the Seelie who are equated to angels in the game. Brief summary here, but the meat of it is that Kaeya most likely has Seelie roots and Nabu Malikata's last name can mean "angels" plural in Arabic. This wordplay tells us Angelica is without a doubt a Seelie, or at the very least someone belonging to the angel category. (The Jinn, for example, are descendants of the Seelie.)
What's funny is that Kaeya owns a book called The Adventures of Angelos, that he deliberately showed to the Traveler. Dude has been dropping hints since the very beginning! It's almost as if he's important to the plot or something.
Perinheri reveals the curse laid on Khaenri'ah is not unique to them and affects those who have forsaken or betrayed their god. There are a few other instances in Teyvat's history that have people turning into beasts, but no further information was given which made it hard to tell how it was connected to the curse of the Cataclysm.
Ukko, the last survivor of the fall of Sal Vindagnyr, was turned into a Frostarm Lawachurl. His final recorded words were of him asking for the destruction of the world as a last middle finger to the gods.
Didn't work.
Shiruyeh, Liloupar's grandson, fell into the abyss thanks to the behated lamp's machinations, and brought back a plague to Gurabad, which turned his people into wild creatures without faces.
Something interesting is that one of the six sins of the Akademiya is to revere gods without acts of devotion. Perhaps the other sins are connected to the conditions of the curse as well:
Cyno's Character Story 5 To prevent researchers from being devastated by their own knowledge, the sages laid out six cardinal sins. They held that all the crimes in this world derive from these six sins. The first is to interfere with human evolution; The second is to tamper with life and death; The third is to delve beyond the universe; The fourth is to investigate the origin of words; The fifth is to revere gods without acts of devotion; The sixth is to attempt the forbidden and fear none.
According to Angelica, the "pure-blooded" (for lack of better word) aristocracy of the Kingdom persists because any offspring they have with those who forsook their god will be affected by the curse as soon as they venture outside.
The witch, Angelica, explained thus: "Hleobrant is the descendant of those who forsook their god and came to the Kingdom. This is why the Kingdom's obstinately pure-blooded aristocracy persists. This is the price of betraying your own god."
The implication here is that the Kingdom seems to be protecting its people within its borders. Those who have come from another world like Perinheri are also curse free.
Angelica herself is not affected by any curse. It's hard to say if she was telling the truth here but she claims to have come from a nation that was defeated by Zhongli. Keep in mind, it's possible that she was only saying this to cast herself in a more favorable light by disguising herself as a fellow god-hater.
Whatever the case, since Angelica is most likely a Seelie, who were cast down by the heavens for reasons unknown, we have to analyze her words a bit more carefully.
The Seelie were also cursed after all.
Arama: Seelies are just empty husks that race left behind. This is because they were born with a curse: If they fall in love with Nara, they shall lose their intelligence and strength, and their bodies will regress.
Explains why Angelica led Hleobrant on and to his demise. Not unlike a certain other Seelikata we know.
Angelica: As for you, Perinheri, you are one who drifted there. Thus, you bear no such curse. You may not have the nobility to shoulder a world, but you too have your own destiny. And as for me? I betrayed no one, not for a moment, until my god died, so I too bear this curse not. But you now see who I truly am, yes?
"Until my god died." If Angelica is a Seelie, then who would her god be? Istaroth? A moon sister? Both? Something to think about…
As for why Angelica did all of that...No idea. Maybe she was just being a little silly. Haha, get it? Because Seelie means silly. But guiding people with a promise of a reward only to lead them into a trap sounds eerily similar to what Kaeya did in his story quest... and in the manga.
It's because he's silly 😂!
ANGELS GEORG
How exactly Kaeya is connected to Seelie is unknown but the character of Kaeya is partly based on Hagen/Högni who is himself half-human/half-dwarf or half-elf. If Kaeya is also half-human then mayhaps the other half could be Seelie.
If Kaeya is half-Seelie, it would explain why he isn't cursed: Angelica. Angelica never betrayed her god. If Kaeya's "pure-blood" father, had a child with a Seelie who never betrayed their god, then maybe the curse wouldn't transfer to Kaeya. This is just one suggestion because we have no idea why the curse gives immortality to pure-blood Khaenri'ahns and if it can be passed on or not.
(As an aside, Kaeya's father is most likely cursed. Kaeya said his hand writing was atrocious, which implies his hands were losing dexterity like Chlothar's.)
I'm aware of the technicalities and the plotholes here such as "uhhh aren't Seelie all empty husks" and "don't they regress if they fall in love"?? Well, we know at least there were survivors out there, meaning there might be loopholes. Columbina, Nabu Malikata, and maybe even Nicole are all characters who weren't husked to floating eye state.
And of course there is Angelica, whose name I joked about being Kaeya's mom's name long before this stupid book came out. 😮‍💨 RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS, ARE WE, HOYOVERSE EMPLOYEE READING MY BLOG
(It could also be that Kaeya's mom was a descendant (Jinni) or scion of the Seelie instead, which I have talked more about here.)
Another alternative is that he's something akin to Perinheri: a child who drifted from some destroyed world. This doesn't seem likely though. Kaeya has the patented star shaped pupils that are more prominent in official art than in the game.
I will say however, that Kaeya's pupils are very different from other Khaenri'ahns such as Dain, Halfdan and Clothar. His pupils are similar to Pierro's which are also "solid". Maybe Pierro is in a similar situation as Kaeya.
Kaeya is in part based on the changeling prince from Midsummer Night's Dream. Changeling in this context means a human child raised by fairies... The title of the Harbingers' trailer, Winter Night's Lazzo, is probably a nod to this play…
In Scottish folklore, the Seelie have a darker counterpart: the Unseelie. Unseelie haven't been mentioned in the game yet, but it's likely they do exist. Perhaps they're the fallen angels, abyssal creatures or even the pure-blood Khaenri'ahns. It's hard to say without more information.
The Seelie Court is ruled by Titania, the Fairy Queen from Midsummer Night's Dream. While the Unseelie Court is their cold, somber counterpart, described as a winter's night...
Fischl's princess outfit is called Immernachtstraum which is also a nod to Midsummer Night's Dream. It's like Fischl and Kaeya belong to the Seelie, also known as the Summer Court, while the Tsaritsa belongs to the Unseelie, the Winter Court.
Getting off track here, but whatever's going on with Kaeya is connected to Princess Fischl and it's difficult to talk about either of them without acknowledging their strange bond.
Lastly,
Kaeya's Character Story 4 Sinister thoughts flashed through Kaeya's mind, and he simply smirked: "This world is truly… fascinating."
Why say world, why!? He just had to throw that in to confuse us even more!
Recently I found out that Kaeya took the traveler to the nameless island on his birthday. No one would go to such lengths if the place wasn't important to them. This island has a ravaged moon-or sundial belonging to the God of Time. The platform on the island can also be found in two places in Dragonspine; the Mural Room and the Secret Room. What the purpose of these things are is unclear, (my guess is elevators), but the Mural Room just so happens to have a painting of a giant angel on it.
The fact that the island is shrouded in mist, hidden from the map, implies someone very powerful brought Kaeya and his father to Mondstadt. If Kaeya's mom was a Seelie then perhaps she was the one who brought them above ground. I can also see a scenario in which a fellow brethren of hers might have helped out.
Such as, I don't know, someone with connections to the Seelie and Dawn Winery. Like Nicole or Columbina, who just so happens to be part of the Fatui… Someone must have given Crepus that delusion after all. 🤷🏽‍♀️
(Venti was taking a power nap at the time, so it can't be him.)
IMMERNACHTREICH
A while back I proposed Fischl might have been a ruler of Khaenri'ah. And now Perinheri has dropped more crumbs unto our laps.
Princess Fischl is the ruler of the Immernachtreich, which is appointed as the future realm of Fischl. This is an important distinction because it means this Realm wasn't always hers. The Immernachtreich is described as an otherworldly place where everything will eventually flow into.
Mitternachts Waltz Everything in this world must pass through the doorway of their destruction unto the future kingdom of the Prinzessin. In the silence of her pitch-dark Nachtgarten would they find a place to slumber.
Flowers for Princess Fischl: Phantasmagoria Every good, bright and noble thing must eventually fall to inexorable entropic destruction, and the final destination of the universe is the realm-in-waiting of the Prinzessin, Immernachtreich.
More About Fischl: To condemn the guilty, to sanctify the just, and to draw all castaway dreams into the embrace of the infinite Immernachtreich.
Something about that sounds familiar!
Perinheri Vol 1 Due to the Kingdom's unique position, things from outside this world were always leaking into it. The Kingdom's weapons would wipe out the calamities slipping in, but what of all the other objects? Such as, say, a child who may have come from some destroyed world?
A child from a destroyed world leaking into an underground Kingdom and the Immernachtreich, another subterranean realm, the doorway of their destruction.
Both realms are welcoming to castaways.
The annoying thing is that it's unclear if Khaenri'ah is the same as the Immernachtreich since Fischl describes her Kingdom as a "small and forbidden paradise". Perhaps Fischl created a subset within the underground realm that kept people safe. At least for a while.
She did after all create a Sommernachtgarten, or Summer Night Garden, that is referenced in the domain Midsummer Courtyard. See, I didn't just mention the Seelie Summer Courts for no reason; Fischl might've been the princess of the Seelie/Angels. But there's little else to corroborate that other than the wings on her back and the Seelie like emblem on her waist...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, Fischl can see the threads of fate and has seen the causality of worlds too numerous to count. As we all know, she created another universe and founded paradise. This other universe might be a new branch that split off from the parent timeline.
In other words a parallel universe.
These branches are referenced in the description for Mitternachts Waltz, so I'm not just pulling this out of my ass.
Even the branch of the tree of time upon which the great and glorious Reman Republic nested would be cut off in the end, such that the nation founded by the other twin child of the wolves might rule.
Perhaps this is also what Perinheri's world was. Maybe the various destroyed worlds were branches that got cut off...
Another interesting similarity is that Fischl ran into a bunch of fate-resisting royals who devolved into beasts after denying her status....
Flowers for Princess Fischl (I): End Time Zersetzung When the lone pilgrimaging princess reached the kingdom of eternal twilight, the fate-resisting royals chose to deny everything in their desperation. They refused to recognize Fischl's noble stature and mission as the princess of the Immernachtreich; denied their 13,000-year lineage as a branch of the royal family; and forsook their own nobility and restraints as humans… devolving into clumsy and vicious beasts.
Huh, it's just like Angelica said 🤷🏽‍♀️. Kingdom of Eternal Twilight might be the "Kingdom" from Perinheri and the fate-resisting royals is code for those who forsook their gods. However, Fischl wasn't without sympathy and took it on herself to protect the Immernachtreich.
Narrator: The Prinzessin harbored much sympathy for all living things, and wished to never see them in pain. She harnessed the power of darkness and dreams to weave the night, and gave it the task to safeguard all living things. The people celebrated and worshiped the Prinzessin's authority, and followed her call to migrate to the sacred land that would eventually be known as the Immernachtreich. We established a nation on the Holy Land, revered the Prinzessin as The Absolute One, and introduced poetry, theater, and adventure to the Kingdom, laying the groundwork for the Immernachtreich.
One final stray thought:
That giant crying left eye on the cover may or may not be the same as Fischl's left Auge der Verurteilung, which caused her great agony due to its ability to pierce through the heart of all truths.
It could also be Fischl's enemy, the World Beast, a night-patrolling beast named "World", who casts a greedy eye on all dreams...
Perinheri The crimson moon, hanging high in the pitch-dark night sky, suddenly turned around, revealing itself to be a titanic, horrified eye.
About Us: Shooting Down the World Beast You seem to be troubled...? Oh traveler, you need not be perplexed. With my left eye, this "Auge der Verurteilung" that penetrates the threads of karma, I keep watch over your fate; with Oz's crow-eyes that have witnessed the nirvana of a thousand worlds, he observes your way forward. If the ferocious night-patrolling beast named "World" casts a greedy eye on your dream, then I will shoot it down with my Magic Arrow of Holy Retribution!

What kind of stuff do you picture Hyacinth wearing?
her appearance honestly changes in my imagination all the time... sometimes she's wearing long, plain robes like the elves in LOTR sometimes she's in something like a Tinkerbell tutu situation sometimes she's in more of a Glinda the Good Witch Mega-Tutu sometimes she's dressed like the druids in Baldur's Gate (with leaves and stuff), including birch bark and hyacinth blossoms sometimes i think of her with a little pixie cut like this and sometimes she has long, flowy, wispy hair sometimes her hair is white. sometimes it's blue. blue/lavender is really her color for sure but I will tell you a secret: she has a (whatever the fantasy/medieval version is of a) hoodie that sorah left behind for her

;; PJSK FAE AU
;; im staring so very politely
i shall reveal what i have thought of so far!!
in the fae realm, the population is divided into Seelie and Unseelie fae. Seelie being the generally calmer, but still very much capable of mischief, yet also don't mind being helpful. sometimes. Unseelie being the ones that tend to be actually malevolent, harbouring hatred for humans... the Seelie and Unseelie Courts take turns ruling throughout the year, Seelie during spring and summer, Unseelie during autumn and winter.
i've decided to have two faerie royal families, one from each type of fae. the Seelie side of things is ruled by the Tenmas, and the Unseelie by the Shinonomes.
on the Seelie side, the Kamishiro family has been been loyal friends to the Tenmas for centuries, and the current generation is no different. Rui is best friends with their side's prince, Tsukasa, and despite his age, his level-headed nature and intelligence earned him the role of representing the Tenma royal family when they cannot. the main plot of the AU follows Rui's attempts to sort out various conflict between Seelie and Unseelie fae.
speaking of which, the two most dangerous Unseelie faeries around their age are a pair of twins, Arata and Iori. they are both particularly cruel to humans, have carefully practiced the art of being able to curse them, and are not above picking on other fae either. Iori dislikes how Unseelie fae are becoming "weaker" in her eyes, due to general hostility decreasing over the years, so she's determined to put a stop to any cross-court interactions she sees. one of her most targeted is Shiho, as she has been befriended by Ichika, Saki and Honami, who are all Seelie fae, Saki being the literal princess of that court, while Shiho (and Shizuku) were born into an Unseelie family. Iori is determined to prevent Shiho from being "influenced," in her eyes, by her friends, much to Shiho's annoyance. despite being royal, the Tenmas aren't respected by any of the Unseelie population, mocked for being kinder to humans, so Iori isn't fazed by the fact that one of Shiho's "disgusting Seelie friends" is Princess Saki. naturally, she doesn't care when Rui is sent to tell her off for the disruption either, often fetched by Shizuku, who can't bear to see her sister being bothered.
yes, despite being opposite types of fae, Shizuku and Rui get along rather well. Shizuku may try to act like a typical Unseelie should, but is really more of a peacemaker rather than a troublemaker. the other Unseelie fae, specifically Arisa, hate how Shizuku is praised by the Seelie Court for not causing deliberate chaos despite her nature, expecting the rest to follow her "example." because of this, there are rumours spread that Shizuku was adopted into her current family and is actually a Seelie fae. Rui can somewhat relate to her, as he has his moments of trickery, but despite lacking malice, people still sometimes accuse him of secretly being from the Unseelie side. he doesn't have it nearly as bad as Shizuku though, since his fellow Seelie aren't nearly as vicious, plus he and his parents are closely connected to the royal family, so they're more careful about slandering him.
meanwhile, Arata violently resents humans because a hunter unknowingly shot Souma when the two of them were hanging out in a human realm forest together, causing the other boy's wings to break beyond repair. he is relentless in enchanting humans at every chance he gets, and although this has made him extremely popular with his fellow Unseelie, the Seelie Court, especially Rui whose job it is to keep fae civilians relatively in line, are incredibly fed up with him because his antics constantly risk more humans finding out about them.
surprisingly enough, Souma, is in fact, a Seelie fae, which has people wondering how exactly he and Arata got so close considering Arata, like his sister and other Unseelie types, seems to currently dislike the Seelie. in truth, he was actually fine with the other fae... until Souma's accident, because he expected them to let go of the "good" act and take revenge against the humans who hurt his partner officially, especially seeing as Souma was one of them- yet, they did not, saying it was too risky, which made Arata see red and spend every day ever since delivering the "justice" himself.
pretty much the only way that Rui can manage to keep Iori and Arata from going completely off the rails is threatening to report them to their own king- the Unseelie ruler, King Shinei, is hardly as gracious and forgiving as the Tenma monarchs.
Emu was born into an Unseelie family, yet she never really felt that she "belonged" on that side... so she grew up trying to play with the Seelie children, but they would all be terrified of her because other Unseelie tend to bully them. however, she was found and accepted by Rui and Nene, two Seelie types who were willing to befriend her- as well as Prince Tsukasa himself. this is much to her family's annoyance- well, really, only Shousuke. Hinata is just pleased that her sister isn't quite so lonely anymore and Keisuke may be a little wary of what may happen to their reputation, but Shousuke is outraged. which is very much to Rui's amusement.
the Tenma royal family includes Toya, but Toya isn't a faerie at all. he was born a human child who the Tenmas saw being treated poorly by his biological family in the human realm, so they took him and left a changeling that mimicked Toya's appearance in his place. however, it was soon discovered what the "Toya" living with the Aoyagi family was, and it was killed while the real boy remained living in the fae realm. one of the plots in the AU is that Toya's older brothers, who were much kinder to him than his parents, found out what happened to him and try to negotiate with Rui who was sent to sort out the matter, of course, and he declares it's up to Toya himself to decide. the two beg him to return to them, but he doesn't want to, refusing to leave Tsukasa and Saki's side. he is afraid and confused by his biological brothers, barely recognising them because he was very little when the Tenmas "switched" him. the Aoyagi brothers realise how truly happy Toya is with his new family, and find themselves not being able to cruelly rip him away from that. probably wish they got kidnapped by fae too-
... well, that is all i've thought of this evening!!

Whispers Within The Woods
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
✿ Synopsis: Nana always told you stories of the mythological creatures that lived in the world. Some were of the kindness and joy held by some, while others were of the pain and suffering caused by others. You however never really listened to those stories, but as you end up in his territory, you really wish you would have.
✿ Who: Nakakita Yuma (&Team) x Reader ✿ Word Count: 7,629 ✿ Genre: Fantasy(specifically fae)/Angst ✿ Warnings: Grandparent death, forced kissing, parent death, beheading, blood, mythical creatures, forced relationship. ✿ Request: No ✿ I've been inactive for a while, but I'm back and writing again. Not proofread. Just a little Yuma fic I came up with when I had writers block from my other fic I'm writing. Enjoy Luné, also in need of Luné friends so hmu.
Tumblr media
Nana’s bedtime stories were never conventional. Instead of hearing epics about princes going to the ends of the earth to save their princess or about anthropomorphic animals, you often heard a totally different type of story. The tales were not about how love can conquer all or how love can survive in a hopeless place. No stories about commoners falling love with royals or people finding out there is more to life than material greed. Instead, your nana told you stories about things others would call mythology or mystical creatures. Tales of fairies and their deeds, epics of dragons and phoenixes, and stories about werewolves and vampires. All the creatures of mythical creation, the stories that started centuries ago, are oftentimes told as ways to terrify children from acting out, or to keep people from going where they should not.
As a child, others heard stories about Tinkerbell and her legion of fairies, the kind and benevolent fairies that do all they can to help others. However, the ones in your Nana’s stories were anything but helpful or kind or benevolent. The tales of the seelie and unseelie courts were her favorite to tell, as you laid in bed drifting to sleep. She would tell you of the kind seelie faeries, how they help those who help them, the tales of how they protect children from danger, and how once they protect you, you will forever have their protection. When crossing into seelie territory, it is best to make an offering of something sweet, specifically sweets or berries, or something shiny, like jewelry, that will show them that you mean no harm, and if they take a liking to you luck and happiness will follow you. The seelie fairies were always kind to children, and kind to adults who leave offerings to them, she always said if you pass into a fairy ring, you better hope it is of the seelie, for they are more forgiving and will accept a heartfelt apology.
The tales she told of the unseelie were drastically different. Nana often said little regarding the unseelie, only what she felt was necessary, just enough to keep you terrified of them, to keep you away from them. They were the exact opposite of the seelie, just as unkind and rude as one would expect. They take pleasure in causing pain on others, will lead children into danger, and adults into harm. When crossing into unseelie territory, make an offering of something different, things like wine or beer, maybe bread or jewelry, but nothing too sweet or too shiny, and just hope and pray they accept the offering and do you no harm. If they reject your offering, you will be plagued with bad luck and misfortune, sorrow and misery will follow you around until you get yourself expunged of the unseelie curse.
Nana talked about the second hand accounts of those who have entered unseelie reigned territory and had offerings rejected, stories of mischief and violence that followed those poor people. The stories were enough to warrant you to keep your distance, thankfully Nana seemed to know which places were claimed to be seelie and unseelie territory. It was odd, however you did not question it. A more inquisitive child would have questioned it, but from a young age you found it best to not question Nana nor her delusions. Since, after all, any sane person would not be telling their children and grandchildren to avoid massive parts of the forest due to little fairies, creatures that do not even exist.
Despite your skepticism, you never once questioned her, listening intently, even as you aged, to her stories. Nana’s tales of the kindness of the fairies, she would claim the seelie court protected the Kim’s kid from being majorly injured when he wrecked his bicycle, when the truth was he just fell off the road onto the grass, not really something to injure himself badly on. She also had tales of the opposite, claiming that Mr. Park’s failure at obtaining and keeping a job, being terminated from three positions within five months, was because he angered the unseelie court and the fae followed him causing misfortune.
At the age of fifteen, Nana’s stories intensified, no longer was it just the faes are bad and fairies are good, avoid the fae and befriend the fairies. The tales to never take anything from a fae, how it is a trick. That was how they apparently tricked people into staying in their territory, by consuming something of fae origin, usually a treat or drink they made, it would be infused with a nectar that once consuming it you would be unable to leave their territory, stuck, bound to whichever fae decided to make you their pet. It was only after telling you all of these stories, that she told you about her own father, Nana never spoke about her dad, and you never met your great grandfather, he having died before your birth. But, she had a good reason for mentioning him to you, telling you his story, letting you know just why she was so worried about you as a child being in the forest behind the house, why she was so worried about the fairies and faes.
“Your great grandfather, my dad, he was a great man, but he was not the brightest, he often did things without thinking, and he did something incomprehensibly stupid. Just before your birth, he was sick, he knew he did not have long left, he did something unthinkable when he found out he only had days to live. When my father was younger, he was collecting firewood and for our woodstove, he unknowingly walked into the seelie’s territory. He made an offering of the only thing he had on him that wasn’t his ax, it was a necklace, he had bought it for my mother, and planned to give it to her that night. It was due to that necklace that he made it home that night, but when he found out he only had days to live, he did the unthinkable. He went into the unseelie territory, he stole it right from under the fae’s noses. Usually they would have just cursed him and caused him misery, but seeing how he was dying, he was dead before they could really cause him any pain. You must never go out into the forest, not near where they reign, they must never find out who you are related to, for if they knew, they would cause the most horrible of fates to befall you, and would avenge their loss. The Unseelie Court is unforgiving, they will never forget those who wronged them, and do everything in their power to get revenge.” Nana said, her delusions getting worse and worse, now she believed they had cursed her father and wanted revenge. “You must promise me to never cross the bramble bush surrounded river, to cross those brambles would put you in grave danger.”
It was easier to promise the elderly lady than try to make sense of her nonsensical ramblings. Avenge their loss, revenge against your great grandfather, a stolen necklace, all pure malarkey. As you aged, you wondered why you had to get a delusional grandmother like this, other’s grandmothers drowned their delusion in the bottle or with pills, but yours instead let hers run free.
By the age of eighteen the tales and stories she would tell you were nothing more than distant memories and thoughts. You were consumed with much more important things, colleges and applications, your future, more than just the silly stories your Nana would tell you. As you planned to move away, start your life, attend college, get a degree, get a job, and leave this small forest town, it was a dream to be away from all of this, the crazy stories, and just everything.
Moving away however did not last long, being called back into your hometown not even a year after making the move. It was your father’s insistence that brought you back, he was never an emotional man, and when he is close to tears, it is a signal that something is bad or something is getting bad. As you entered the house you so willingly vacated a year prior, you saw the chaotic scene. Dad running around, mom trying to calm him, some random person in scrubs attempting to calm him as well, and a second person in scrubs leaving a specific room, your Nana’s room. It only took a minute for your mother to catch sight of you, quickly pulling you aside, destined to catch you up to date of what was happening.
Initially unable to even start, your mother was hasty with her words, “Your Nana, she’s fallen ill. They say it was sudden, they never saw it coming, she has days if even that to live. She has asked for nothing but you this whole time, we worried you would not get home in time to see her. Please, go to her, there’s not long.” With that, the usually strong woman in front of you burst into tears, this time it was your father trying to calm her down, as he simply nodded your way, even his own cheeks were tear stained.
Entering your grandmother’s room the scene was a sight for sore eyes. The vibrant and lively woman that once used to talk for hours on the fae and fairies, she had sullen, sunken eyes, and boney features looking ghostly compared to the image of her that remained in your mind. The once bright woman now seemed as though she could barely sit, watching as she slowly lifted her frail hand, you knew that your thoughts were true, she could not sit up on her own accord. She was so lively when you last saw her, within the past year it was like she had aged tenfold, easily looking twice the age she was when you parted ways last year.
Quickly sitting by her bedside, she clutched your hands as harshly as she could. “My dear,” Nana started, pausing to look at the nurse still in the room. With that cue, you were left alone with the aging relative. “It seems my hourglass is running out, but I’m glad to see you one last time.” She said, her frail hand quickly coming up, caressing the side of your face before falling once more. Reaching into her pocket, she fished something out of it, as her hand joined her other, grasping your hand. “I must give you this. You must hide it. Don’t let them see you wearing it. You must remember everything I’ve taught you, those stories were all true, and you must hand them down to your children when it’s time, as I have with you. This necklace as well, it must be given to the one who will care for it the most. I have faith in you my dear. You won’t let your dear Nana down.”
You were unable to even start talking to her, as she removed her hands from yours, you put the necklace in your jacket pocket. Starting to open your mouth, ready to say something, anything back. The soft aged voice of your grandmother cut through the silence, “Will you go get my nurse, I’m in need of some more medicine.”
With a nod, you stood, “Of course,” you replied, quickly starting to exit the room, hearing your Nana mutter something about how her last few grains of sand have passed through the hourglass. Leaving the room, you notified the nurses, one of them entered the room, and started working. It was not even two minutes later that the nurse called for the other two, as they ran into the room, everyone knew something was going wrong, everyone knew that Nana was gone. It took ten minutes before any of the nurses exited the room, confirming what the three of you already knew, she was gone.
Tears flowed for the next few days, the stage of mourning was horrible for everyone. Nana was deeply loved within the family and within the community. Even after a month passed, you found yourself unable to return to college, the future you once dreamed of seemed worthless if you did not have your Nana there to cheer you on. Instead of returning to the city, you decided to stay home, claiming it was to help your parents.
One day after helping your mother clean the house, you found yourself outside after she left for work. Slipping your jacket on, you did something for the first time in your life, you took a walk throughout the forest. Nana’s stories of the dangers and frights were forgotten as you passed throughout the trees. Fingertips grazing the green leaves on the tree branches, the birds chirping made the ambiance a wonderful place. Shoving one hand into your jacket pocket, you started to wonder why you never went into the forest before. As you thought, a cold metallic item hit your finger, pulling the item out, it was the necklace that your grandmother had given you. Without a second thought of her words or her warning, you simply put the item on. The metal was cold against your skin, but it felt welcome as you stood in the bright sunlight.
Unbeknownst to you, despite the deep trek into the forest, you were not alone. As you stood sunbathing in the sunlight, a figure watched you from afar. They were absolutely enamored by your beauty, fascinated by what stood in front of them, their mind only had one desire in it at that moment to see you on your knees by his side for eternity, his eternal little plaything, since once he has his hands on you, you will never be able to get away from him. The male figure continued to observe you from his spot hidden amongst the trees, the vines and bramble giving him a wonderful spot to remain hidden from. As he stared, something caught his eye, something shiny. Eyes nearing in on it, and he realized what it was, the necklace that adorned the neck of the beautiful person he was watching. Staring more, he started to make the small item out, a wave of realization washed over him, that necklace, it had to be the one that was stolen from his father all those years ago. His father always told him about it, it was stolen before he was born, but he had heard about it so much, it was like seeing something that had been explained in such explicit detail. In that moment, he knew there would be no chance you would get away from him, once he had the chance, you would be his.
The sunlight started to fade, it grew colder and darker as you tried to find your way out of the forest. If this was the reason your Nana told you to stay from the forest, you would have understood it. The darkness was hard to navigate, but instead she told you ridiculous stories, fairies and fae, what nonsense. It was nothing other than old wives tales, like those who said their children were stolen by wolves and foxes to explain why their young children disappeared or passed. Finally finding your way out, had you heeded Nana’s warning, you would have realized long ago you set foot into his territory, but he let you leave for now, since before long you will find your way to him, and then he will not let you leave.
Returning home, you found yourself desiring to return to the forest, to the trees. They were calling you, it was unexpected, and confusing. You had spent your whole life in fear of those trees, in fear of the fae that lived within them, or at least the fae your Nana claimed lived within them. But here you were, desiring to be under the treetops once more, a need to venture further and further into the darkness within the branches. A desire to get lost within the trees, and a fleeting idea of getting lost and never coming back.
As you fell asleep, the ideas filled your mind, calling you back into the trees, back into the darkness. Your dream was plagued with visions of the trees, you walking further and further into the trees, easily going three times further than you had today. You found yourself in a stream, crystal clear water running through your fingertips, as the wind blew your hair around, but then there was a feeling placing your hair back. Turning, you saw no one, but you could have sworn someone was fixing your hair from the wind’s actions. Fingers intertwined with another’s fingers, but their face unknown, their figure escaping your vision. The feeling was fleeting, the hand left yours, before the sound of leaves moving met your ears. They were running, soon you were as well, running after them, a game, a chase, something, you were unsure of what, but you were doing it. As you felt the tree branches scraping your skin, and then brambles tearing small holes in your clothing, you found yourself in front of a river, on the other side stood a man. The man’s features were a blur, the only thing you could tell for certain was his dark black hair and his sharp cat like eyes peering at you from behind the veil of bangs. Unable to stop yourself, you crossed the river, it was not as deep as you thought it should be, oddly enough it also was not running, the water stagnant and unmoving. As the water seeped into your shoes, you realized, on your feet were no shoes, instead the water washed away dirt and blood from them, caused by your trek through the forest with no shoes on. The water mesmerized momentarily, before you felt the water slowly crawling up your pants, soaking the material that was underwater, and dampening what was not. Looking up, you saw him once more, something was drawing you to him, it was like a rope pulling you closer and closer to the unknown man. Unable to stop the pull, you were like a moth to a flame, despite the cool sooth of the water, your feet started to move once more. The stones in the river stabbed at your feet as you crossed, but that slowed you down none. Stepping onto the dirt, your down damp feet struggled to find their footing, slipping on the mud you had created. Hitting the ground never came however, as arms were around you, keeping you from falling. Despite having not hit the ground, your mind however did hit a wall, fading into darkness as your body went limp.
Upon waking you immediately knew something was off, the thing you were laid on was not your bed, it was hard and felt like a bed of sticks. As you opened your eyes, it was what you had felt, the sharp edges of discarded branches stabbed you in the back as you shifted, starting to sit up. The odd dream the night before came to mind, it felt so realistic and lifelike. Running through the forest, standing in the water, the wind blowing your hair; but one part of it was a mystery, a figure you believed accompanied you; yet, he was just that, a figure in the shadows.
As you attempt to stand, a harsh pain stops the attempt, gazing downwards, you see your feet, dirt covered, and small cuts that were no longer bleeding visible. The thought it was reality caused you to fall to the ground, all the memories flooding your mind as though it was just a dream. The mild crisis you were undergoing was cut short however, as you heard footsteps of another. Finally assessing where you were, it looked like a little hideaway made of fallen branches and leaves. Attempting to hide, you hoped whatever it was would pass on, hopefully not get a scent of the human here and leave without a word. As attempts to remain silent were made, the thought of how did you get here filled your thoughts. The river was the last place you were, and now you were here, in someone’s little hideaway. Someone had to be with you previously, and they brought you here. The man you felt compelled to go around, it had to have been him, if only you could remember what he looked like, if only your mind had not cursed you by only bringing up the memory of a shadow like figure.
The footsteps stopped as someone stood at the entrance of the hideaway. “Hey, I’m not gonna hurt you,” called out a soft male voice. Before you saw the face behind the voice, unconsciously your body shifted back, trying to hide slightly more against the tree branches and leaves. His hand entered before his body, a bottle of what looked like water in it, almost like he was offering you a peace offering, before finally fully entering within the space you were in. He did not set off any red flags in your mind, he had soft looking fluffy black hair, and his smile featured a snaggletooth. If you had met him in one of your classes or out on the streets, you would have thought he was pretty attractive, but having met him in this situation, it was quite different.
You made no motion towards him, and he seemed to expect that, instead of moving towards you, he just sat where he stood. “I think you may have been sleepwalking or something,” He started, almost like he was trying to explain to you what happened. “I just found you on the side of the river bank asleep.” He added, as though it would bring any more comfort to his words. “I didn’t want to just leave you there, so I brought you here, so you wouldn’t be exposed to all the elements.” He continued, nothing he said brought you comfort, despite the beauty of the face saying them. “I just went to grab you this, I thought you might be thirsty, you seemed really out of it earlier.”
There was no attempt made to grab the bottle. Despite the explanations, it still made no sense. At no point in life had sleepwalking been a trait within anyone in your family, and unless stress brought it on, you had no idea how else you ended up out here. The refusal to move towards him and refusal to respond to him must have irritated the boy, as instead of trying to get you to take the bottle again, he simply sat it down, and stood up. “I’ll just give you some time then.” He said, before making his exit as quickly as he did his entrance.
You sat, silent, still, and thirsty for about ten minutes. Only then did it get the best of you, you reached over, grabbing the bottle without a second thought. Had you been in a better state of mind, you would have tried to run, but with everything happening, it seemed like your brain was just not functioning as normal. As the bottle met your hands, you quickly pulled the cap off, not even taking note of how it had already been opened previously. The bottle was immediately drained as it met your lips, after the first sip, you found yourself unable to stop, and soon the bottle was empty. With that, you finally found yourself able to stand and walk somewhat. Exiting the hideaway, looking around, you found yourself unable to pinpoint where you were in the forest. Deciding you might as well just start walking, you would find home or someone else soon.
Not even three minutes into walking, you saw him again, he was sitting there on a large rock with his back to you. Had he been facing you, the first thing that would have caught your eye was the large smirk gracing his face. He had known the moment you drank the bottle of liquid, he also knew it now meant you were unable to leave him. As he turned, his eyes immediately found yours. “Thank you,” You softly muttered, watching as he stood up. He started to walk near you, as he did you felt a warm feeling start to fill your chest, it butterflying out and spreading throughout your body, filling each and every crevice with this warm feeling. The warm feeling desired one thing and one thing only, the feeling of being in this man’s arms. You felt no fight as he neared you, a hand soft brushing hair from your face.
“Are you okay?” He asked, as the warm feeling turned to burning. The burning started within your chest and took over your whole body like a wildfire, it was not gently building like the warmth did, instead it was a raging storm that was unstoppable. Unable to hold your own body weight up, you collapsed, only to be caught by two very familiar arms. “Stupid little one, you should know better than to take drinks from strangers.” He said, carrying the figure in his arms back to the hideaway.
The darkness fading from your mind this time, you did not awaken to the sharp branches stabbing your back, instead you awoke to what felt like warmth. A warmth behind you, an arm around you, a hand on your forehead, almost as though someone was concerned for you. Sitting up with a start, desire to rid yourself of whoever it was on you, you turned to see the man again. “What.” You started, unable to continue your thought as you felt his hand on your forehead once more.
The man had taken to playing the role, the concerned stranger, he knew he would not reveal the truth until later, it was almost too much fun to play you like this. “Are you okay?” He questioned, “You took a nasty fall. You just passed out. I guess everything is just a bit too much for you. Luckily I was there to catch you. I’d hate for you to fall onto the cold hard ground.” He seemed almost concerned, as he reached over, to grab another bottle, passing it to you without much being said.
Taking the bottle, some desire overcame you, you opened it, draining it as you had the one before. “Thank you,” You said, watching as the male nodded. You were still unsure of what was going on, sleep walking, fainting, it was just all unlike you, but it must be the stress. It had to be all the stress caused by your grandmother’s passing. “Thank you,” You started again, stopping before giving him a confused look, realizing you did not even know his name, to thank him for his kindness.
It was almost as though he could read your mind however, since he quickly told you what you had been wondering. “Yuma,” He said, “My name is Yuma.” He told you. As he watched you pass the bottle back over to him, he grabbed another. “I brought a few once you passed out, I assumed you’d be really thirsty, since you are pretty far out here.” He explained, watching as you drank bottle after bottle. One bottle was enough to make you never be able to leave him, but he would make sure you never wanted to leave him. While, sadly he knew it could take a while to take effect, he would just have to keep you preoccupied until it did.
Yuma was one to never be told no, growing up as the Fae Prince, everyone feared what his father might do to them if they told the fair prince no, and those who did found out with a slow and painful death. When he wanted to take his father’s throne, his own father told him no, only then had he faced this blind rage that left his hands blood covered and his father’s head rolling on the floor. He always got what he wanted, and he would not change now. He would make sure not only would you not leave him, but that you would want him, you would be able to deny any part of him, and he would be the only thing occupying your simple little mind.
“Yuma,” You repeated, before telling him your own name, watching as he nodded, a look on his face seemed like he already knew your name, but you did not question it. As you sat on the ground, you wanted to ask him something, just anything, moving the bottle from one hand to another, you found yourself staring up at him. “How did you find me? You said you found me on the river bank. Why were you out this far?” It took all your courage to ask the obvious, but part of your mind told you that it was stupid to ask, and that you should instead just be thankful he found you.
Yuma had expected this, the middle of the forest was not exactly the place most people hang out for fun, at least where humans stay. “Oh, I was just out on a morning walk, I don’t live too far from here,” He started, which while it was a lie, it also was not, he did not live far from here, and he technically was on a walk in the morning. “I think you’ve made it a lot farther into the woods than you think you did, since we aren’t that far from some other houses.”
Nodding, you accepted the answer, despite something in your mind telling you to not. After that, the silence remained for several moments, you not saying anything, and neither did he. It was an uncomfortable silence however, as your mind was on red alert, he was a stranger, he was in the middle of the woods, and he was just odd. But, those red flags soon started to fade, from pink to white, as your mind started to become fuzzy. The warmth from earlier happened again, but instead of growing, it immediately became a blazing fire, consuming your entire being. The heat however did not last, as quickly as it came, it was replaced with a freezing chill. The chill drains each and every bit of energy from your body. “I don’t feel so well.” You muttered, as you felt your head sway. The feeling was as though you were fainting, but you were sitting on the ground, confused as to how this was happening. It did not take long for Yuma’s arms to wrap around you, his forearms enveloping your waist being the last thing you remember, before everything went black once more.
Yuma could not keep the smile from coming upon his face as you fell forward into his chest. Soon, you would never want to leave him, you would never want to see your silly little mother or father again, you would never want to be far from him, you would be his and his alone. His gaze was almost cat like, staring at your passed out figure almost as though you were his prey, and he was the predator. Which, in all honesty, he was; you were the stupid little bunny that fell into his trap, and now he would have fun playing with his little toy forevermore. Raising a hand, he brushed the hair from your face, pressing his lips against your forehead. Had you been awake it would have been a sweet kiss, yet, seeing how you were not, it was menacing instead. He sat there for who knows how long, just petting your hair, pressing various kisses to your face, save for your lips, he decided that he would wait until you were awakened for him to do that. His heart swelled as he stared at the image in front of him, the object of his affection in his arms, moving unconsciously into his chest, even in your unawake state you desired to be with him, just like he desired you to be.
Awaking, you felt a warmth around you, it was Yuma’s arms holding you tight, your head laying on his chest as though it was a pillow. “What happened?” You muttered, your face still pressed against the male’s chest. Despite the thought he would immediately respond, Yuma remained silent, instead just rubbing your back and petting your hair as he had been. It was soothing though, part of you wanted him to do more, while the rational part of your mind was hanging on by a thread, telling you to run, telling you this was not normal, telling you to escape while you could. If only your mind knew it was already too late, it had been too late hours ago when you sleepwalked into the forest, you had been long been screwed.
As you shifted, moving back from his chest, you asked again, “What happened?” But as you did, your eyes locked with his. His eyes were enthralling, drawing you in, they were like a whirlpool and with each second you were being pulled in deeper and deeper, unable to escape. As you stared into his eyes, you felt compelled to do something that normal you would have never thought of, you felt compelled to kiss him. It was almost like you were being told to abandon all your morals and do as he says, to abandon all you knew for him, to abandon everything for Yuma. Give up everything for Yuma. You only love Yuma. Unable to stop the thoughts flooding your mind, you leaned in closer to him, connecting your lips with his.
Smiling into the kiss, Yuma was happy that it was working. He was quick to respond, deepening the kiss, pulling you further onto his lap. His tongue was quick to breach the divide between your lips, exploring your mouth, as you found yourself unable to stop yourself from moaning into his mouth, as you responded to the kiss. His lips moved against yours until you found yourself pulling back, lightheaded once more, only this time it was from the feeling of his mouth against yours. Labored breathing slipped past your lips as his mouth moved downwards, finding its way to the side of your neck. The high you felt continued as he started to suck deep purple marks along your neck, the euphoria of submitting to Yuma was like no other. How you felt could not compare to how you felt with others, not any other boyfriend or girlfriend had made you feel the way Yuma was, the warmth radiating throughout your body, the euphoria that came just from connecting your lips to his.
The high came crashing down however, as Yuma started to mutter against your neck. “Took fucking long enough, I shouldn’t have diluted it so much.” He muttered, forgetting that you were awake and able to hear him. He was reckless to assume you would have not heard his statement, especially seeing how he was kissing just under your ear, it would have been impossible for you to not hear him.
A rush of anger took over you, the string worth of rationality quickly becoming a rope, as your headstrongness overwhelmed what little effect his nectar had taken on you thus far. With a quick movement, you had pushed Yuma off of you, an uppercut to his jaw taking him by surprise as you ran out of the hideaway. As you found yourself more within your proper state of mind, you ran, running before he could have reacted to your little stunt and followed you. Seeing how dark it was already, you assumed it was mid evening at earliest, meaning he had been drugging you for who knows how many hours.
Running through the forest, you were harshly reminded of your shoeless feet, as you stumbled and stepped on sharp branches shards. You continued running, even once you heard him behind you, at least you assumed it was him. It could have been a wild animal, and honestly you would have rather let the wild animal get you, than be around him once more. Running, you found yourself passing things you had sworn you had seen before, but it did not stop you, instead you pressed forward continuing on.
Yuma had been taken aback the moment you pushed him, his mind was thinking you wanted something else, something he was completely willing to give you, he wanted to own both your soul and body. But, instead as a fist met his jaw, he was shocked. It was not the reaction he had expected, especially as the nectar was seeming to have taken over your body. But, as he said, he must have diluted it too much, allowing your original mindstate to take over.
As you ran, he could not stop himself from laughing, funny you thought you could escape him. He could have instantly been by your side, but instead he decided to have a little fun. What is a predator without his prey to chase, after all you were his pretty little bunny that fell into his trap. He felt joy watching the attempts to escape, you would near the river just for him to teleport you right back to where you had started five minutes ago. The joy was euphoric to him, giving him an idea of what kind of fun he would have with his little toy, once your mind fully submitted to him. Which, it would, it was not like you could escape him anyways.
You finally found yourself by the river, assuming this was the river that Yuma claimed to have found you by this morning. As you tried to step into the cold waters, you were unable to do so. Your foot, it was like it hit an invisible wall, something was preventing you from moving. First you tried your feet, both hit an invisible barrier. Then your hands, the same result. You however had no time to run elsewhere when you heard his laugh behind you. It was like you were in a small invisible hall, no longer the barrier just in front of you, but it was also beside you, keeping you right where he wanted you.
“You didn’t think I was going to let you go so easily, did you sweetheart?” His voice, easily holding a mocking tone. Watching as you hit the barrier only visible to his eyes, trying to escape. Yuma could sense your stress, the fear, the anger within your being. It caused him to do nothing more than to laugh, laugh at your tries, he knew you would be unable to escape. His hand found your neck, wrapping around it as he tightened his grip, starting to pull you away from the barrier. “Now, now, now, let’s quit that, hitting my barrier won’t get you anywhere sweetheart.” He mockingly said, his other hand coming up to play with the necklace resting on your neck.
Eyes were focused on the other side of the river, it was only then that you saw it, the brambles. You were on the other side of the bramble covered river. It was only then that all the stories flooded back to your brain. Once you enter their territory you can not leave without an offering unless you want to be cursed. His hand playing with the necklace resting on your chest let you know he recognized the charm, the necklace she said to keep hidden. Never cross the bramble surrounded river, for the other side is the unseelie territory. And the most important one that you failed to heed, fae will trick you into eating something, for their nectar will be used to bind you to themselves. But there was one thing Nana could never tell you, since even she herself did not know it, once bound, you are not their plaything until death, you are their plaything forever more, since unlike fairies, the evil magic the fae practice, keeps them immortal. They only die when they desire to pass on, or through being killed by another, the latter being just how Yuma claimed his throne from his father.
As everything started to make sense, you felt the grip on your neck tighten Yuma pulling your head to lay against his shoulder. A harsh kiss was placed on your lips before the hand on your necklace moved. Suddenly a black teacup appeared in his hand, within the cup was a thick viscous liquid. Yuma wasted no time diluting it or disguising it as water this time, he wanted to make sure it took, and he would make sure to force feed it to you as many times as it took. He would not have another scene like you put on today. He would completely and totally mind break you, leaving you unable to think about anything but him, unable to want anything but him. No longer would you crave human goods or desires, you would desire him and him alone. You would willingly submit to him, and until the nectar corrupted your mind, he would force you to submit with as much cruelty as it took to break your spirit.
Despite attempts to move, his hand tightened, the grip on your neck causing you to feel lightheaded. As he felt your body start to fade, his hand moved from your neck to your mouth, quickly opening your lips to pour the contents of the teacup in. This was not enough for him however, his hand moving back to your neck as you started to regain your breathing and thoughts. He repeated the process twice more, three teacups full of nectar should be more than enough to make you nothing but his pliable plaything within minutes. Yet, at that moment, your sanity remained, and you started to struggle once more.
In a bright flash of light, you find yourself immobilized and in a black dimly lit room, the blood red carpet under your feet being the only thing you see. As a hand takes your own, you feel it dragging you along behind the owner of the hand. The carpet changes to black tile, before long you are at a large black door, being led through it. Whatever desire you had to fight, to run, disappeared, as they drained every bit of energy from your form, leaving you with just enough to keep standing and awake. The nectar starting to flood your mind, thoughts of Yuma being all that remained. The joy feeling of his lips on yours, the high you felt from his lips upon your neck, and fantasies of the euphoria you would feel upon giving him your body being all that your mind was filled with. Legs were numb as the walking continued, from tile to another swatch of blood red carpet, this time, it followed along the floor and up a short set of stairs, where a throne sat.
If your mind was working, you would be confused about this all, you would be fighting this all, but instead here you were subservient, following the man leading you towards the throne. Unsure of when it happened, it felt like you were not fully there for a while, only coming to when you felt a hand playing with the hair on the top of your head. Here you sat on your knees, wrist and ankles chained to the throne besides you, as your head rested against the arm of the throne. The sanity that remained by a thread was trying one last effort to get you out, but it was failing, and soon would be replaced with nothing but thoughts of Yuma. Thoughts of kissing Yuma. Thoughts of serving Yuma. Thoughts of nothing but Yuma. It is not that bad though, after all Yuma is your everything.
“Don’t get any frivolous ideas my love, you can’t escape me now my dear.” Yuma said, his voice slipping easily into your brain, the words smooth as velvet, despite actions saying the opposite. With a quick grip on the back of your head, Yuma yanked your head back, so your half closed eyes would focus on him. “Open your eyes.” He harshly said with a quick slap being administered to your cheek. The force of the slap woke you up slightly, causing both your eyes to be fully open and on him, he continued. “And this is where you will stay my queen/king, by my side, where you belong.” Pausing he pulled you into a forceful kiss, teeth clattering against yours as he dominated your movements in that moment. Pulling away, he pushed you back, making sure you were kneeling by his side, before his hand found its way back into your hair, making you focus on him once more, before his other hand gently caressed your chin. The nectar started to fully flood your brain, no longer being any thoughts of your own. All thoughts were of Yuma, what you wanted to do to Yuma, what you wanted Yuma to do to you. All was Yuma. Watching as the fight drained from your eyes, becoming glossy with desire, he leaned down, connecting his lips to yours once more, only this time, it was returned. Nothing filled your mind except the desire to please Yuma, to do as he likes, and you kissed him back. “This is right where you belong?” He questioned, watching as you nodded your head enthusiastically, he started to chuckle. His hand found its way back to your hair, petting it as you leaned into his touch. “Right little pet.”

hello~ wensday prompt: what happens if alec was 6-7 years older. he wouldn't be parabatai with jace because he will be 18 and jace like 12 ? or he start date magnus much earlier before clary show up?
I hope you doing great! also have you seen "bodies bodies bodies"? great comedy horror. recommend to see it~
thank you for writing all of these prompts 💕
Hello! you are not the only person to be interested in that idea and i love it! in my opinion, an alec who was 6-7 years older than izzy wouldn't be raised by maryse and robert. alec and jonathon were born during the circle, after they left. so this is part of a universe called walls of adoration, claws of desperations
there is another porition of this written and jsyk it's alec and magnus secret relationship.
also valentine wants soldiers and experiments, he'd encourage his soldiers to keeps the kids, maybe even convince them. but maryse wouldn't take a toddler or a baby with her, it would be a tactical error and distraction.
in my opinion and headcanon, alec is left with the trueblood or lightwood grandparents and if i'm going to go with either, i'm gonna go with the trueblood tbh. i'm biased cause i like maryse better than robert. alec has been living in idris with the disgrace of circle member parents because this is before its hidden. he's about to get his first rune and he's been raised loyal and to disdain his parents because they're traitors.
he's going to refuse to go with them and he's about to get his first rune and maryse is pregnant and will have another heir and the truebloods need one.
so yeah, thats kinda my meta for the background and hows and whys of this.
i am doing great! thank you so much for asking and today has been lovely and i have so many prompts i'm excited about.
I really am enjoying them so you're welcome and thank you for sending in a prompt
also i have not but it is now on the list!

Alec prefers the parts of his life that are him living in the outskirts of Alicante. His grandparents have passed and while he is sent to train hunters at Institute’s across the world, he’s had no real interest or reason to officially be called to serve as a Commander.
At least until now.
With Maryse and Robert Lightwood being recalled to Idris, Alec is the only one related who has the qualifications and the right background for it. Robert and Maryse won’t be able to claim the clave is trying to strip the Institute from their family, not when Alec is heir to one of them.
Which is fine, it’s not the worst thing Alec has done and while he dreads the tedium of bringing an entire Institute full of hunters up to his personal standards, it’s not the worst thing he’s done.
It’s a bit annoying to have to stop his current study and projects and while Aline promised to keep him updated, Alec hopes that Sebastian will help remind her. Otherwise, he’ll be hearing about things once every six months.
Alec isn’t interested in politics the way his parents are.
He’s seen what they did to Maryse and Robert and now that he’s older, he understands things better and dislikes them more.
So, it’s with indifference that he goes to New York and it’s with prejudice that he kicks shadowhunters back to New York.
Izzy thinking she’s a shadowhunter informant at fifteen and that she can seduce information from seelies is the ridiculous thing Alec’s ever heard and while she wails and begs, he ignores her petulant whining. She’s her parent’s princess and he knows she’s rarely been told a ‘no’ that she didn’t ignore.
Jace is just as stubborn and the third time he gets himself and other shadowhunters injured, Alec has him with Izzy, Starkweather, and about a fifth of his Institute ready to be shipped back to Alicante.
“It’s a conflict of interest.” He tells Jia with a smirk over the video call that night. “They’re my precious little siblings, Jia. How could I put them through the same kind of training as the others?”
“You just don’t want to deal with them.” Jia accuses, having apparently already found out how much of a headache the two are.
Alec merely raises a brow because it is a conflict of interest and Jia knows it. Everyone knows it, which is why it’s hilarious that she’s still trying.
“Fine. But did you have to send us Starkweather? This is a mess, Trueblood.”
Alec simply hums and signs off, because at least now it’s not his mess.

Do you see the government pushing this? And I don’t think Charles wants to strip them of their titles either.
If the Susx are stripped of their titles then so should Andrew and he’d throw a massive tantrum, the Susx will too but that’s easier for Charles to ignore than andrews wailing. Also royals do place a lot of importance on their ‘birthrights’ and whatnot so I don’t think Charles wants to set the precedent either. Considering Charles has given up on kicking Andrew out of the lodge which he can’t pay the upkeep for, I have no faith in him to do what is right.
I don't think we can compare the Sussexes to Andrew, and I've long said this. They aren't the same. Andrew hasn't directly attacked the institution of the monarchy or tried to hurt it. At best, legally, he's made some Very Very Questionable Decisions, and he's largely put his head down and shut the fuck up since the settlement.
The Sussexes have actually attacked the monarchy. They've done it repeatedly for years, and the guy they're legally proven to work with has now named the King and Princess of Wales as racists. Bob Seely wants to remove old wording from the law (that has been approved on a legal basis) that means they can be held as traitors and I'm all for it.
Ultimately, if the govt passes such a bill, Charles must sign it off the same as he does with every other law. Such is the job of the monarch. That's how it works.
