Just heard on an official poll that the Sakura & Chiyo vs Sasori fight was voted the best, even above the Naruto vs Sasuke finale fight. This is ironic given how many people still diss Sakura, saying she’s useless or worthless. It’s such a shame that Kishi, disheartened by criticism against her, dropped her development and involvement significantly after this fight. Regardless of this poll, the fight always comes up as one of the best and I love it for several reasons:
A) Sakura’s development and process showcased
B) Sakura and Chiyo fighting together - any story that centres generations of women gets a thumbs up from me esp if they have a badass old lady. It’s also great because Chiyo overcomes her hatred of Konoha and dislike of Tsunade by working with her student. She’s able to use this to come to terms and defeat the familial poison that has corrupted Sasori.
C) Sasori. A powerful mastermind with an unusual technique. His battle of wits and ideals vs the two women is fantastic and not to mention that UST between him and Sakura.
D) Poignant ending and Sakura getting his acknowledgement and info on Orochimaru. It’s just sad that does give her in the dnd what she wanted re reunion with Sasuke.
E) Pacing and tactics. I love the different uses of techniques and the tension. Medical ninjutsu being used in battle is cool.

Hi would it be alright to request yandere romantic hcs for Naruto please with a female reader if possible maybe she was part of his team in his younger days ; love to see what you come up with ^-^
I love this question, especially because of the concept of being a teammate, basically being the third member of team 7, since I think that another female character should have been the tri-lead and not Sakura (It's not that I dislike Sakura, in fact, I feel that she is a character with a lot of potential but undervalued by her author who only went out of her way to develop Sasuke. Sakura is a wasted potential like almost all the women in the series, which It makes me think that Kishi doesn't know how to write women… or he's lazy because they aren't Uchihas or Sasuke)
In fact, I am thinking in the future of making a fic with a team 7 made up of Sasuke, Naruto and Hinata, since they are the respective reincarnations of Indra, Asura and the descendant of Hamura, but that will be for another post
yandere Naruto Romantic Headcanons
Tumblr media
Well, here I am going to develop Naruto in his early age, that is, Naruto from the first part of the series, it does not include shippuden, the last and I will pretend that Boruto does not exist (don't ask me questions about Boruto, I didn't see the series and I am not interested beyond the concept of Boruto's visual power but only because it would be a development of the byakugan not because I am interested in the character), so here we will see the child version of a twelve-year-old yandere Naruto (if I remember correctly, that's how old he was at that time) until he leaves the village with Jiraiya, keeping this in mind, let's continue
We all know the sad story of Naruto and how painful his childhood was, without parents, hated by the entire village, without friends and all that drama
The important thing is that from all that negligence and lack of human interaction, the need was born in him to attract attention in any way possible
basically what I want to say here is that he would turn yandere for literally anyone who pays him the slightest bit of attention and above all, this is key, who treats him well
I'm not talking about great charitable gestures or kindness, I'm talking about treating him with cordiality, basically the first principle of a decent human being (yes, that's how badly he's been treated)
He would trust you 100% if you approached and proposed to be his friend (let's remember part of a flashback in some filler chapter where he went into a dangerous forest to look for a kunai from an enemy ninja of the village just because some stupid and very bad-hearted children said that they would be his friends if he brought said weapon, basically sending him to die if it weren't for Iruka-sensei)
Another thing is that Naruto is tremendously obsessive, just look at how he behaves with his teammates, that will not compare to the obsession he developed with you.
and we must take into account, here Sakura does not exist in his head, you are the prettiest girl in the village and he has made his intentions very clear to you that in the future he wants to be your lover (boyfriend, in a innocent way since he is a kid)
He will not see mistakes or defects, he will fight with Sasuke or Kakashi if one of those two scolds you or disrespects you
he will not like your friends, not because he is jealous or that he thinks they are going to steal you from him, but it is more because of his insecurity and fear of being alone again, that is something you can repair If you make your friends also friends with him
He is clingy to the extreme but not very observant in the sense that he won't always remember your favorite color or food, but at least he remembers special dates.
your enemies are his enemies and he does hold grudges against people who hurt you
He will also see you as someone above him and everyone, he is like a worshiper (remember how he thought well of Sakura? It's the same but amplified) you are a being incapable of making mistakes in his eyes
His beloved's opinion is very important to him, so much so that it is above anyone else, above his teacher, Sasuke, Iruka, the ramen guy or even the Hokage.
At this stage he will be a little annoying, irritating and clingy, but nothing dangerous, a child in love, the most dangerous thing about his yandere side would come out later when his crush stops being childish.

is that true sasuke and karin fucked in canon? i saw some people spread this because suigetsu implied something happened between them in the past. i don't know the right translation of his line but most of translations imply whether karin did something to sasuke in the past or they did something together.
these people say sasuke defends karin even though karin was the who punched suigetsu because they didn't want suigetsu to reveal some secret. when karin tries to get closer to sasuke he tells her to move back a little or looks nervous (because of her angry voice?) suigetsu also said that he and juugo would get in their way and that he likes to break them apart. it is also mentioned in some databook that suigetsu likes to interfere with the love of sasuke and karin, and that  what happened between sasuke and karin is a top secret.
those people also discussed bites all over karin's body, assuming that they were left by sasuke and that she let him diging his teeth into her body (it is  also mentioned in databook). it is also mentioned by obito that karin is sasuke's favorite (lovers used to be considered favorites). in the scene where karin goes to sasuke when he was injured, she said a line that could mean sasuke wouldn't reject her.
naruto and suigetsu believed that sasuke could have slept with karin and suigetsu also said he didn't know sasuke can be such a bastard( those people use "pimp" but it's probably a mistranslation since the most common meaning of the used word in his line was "bastard" or "pile of trash". this word  also can mean "chad", but it's an uncommon meaning).  to sarada's questions about who her mother is, sasuke answered "it's none of your business". it could indicate that sasuke slept with both karin and sakura and simply did not know whose daughter sarada was.
in their opinion, sk is the only ship where there is something erotic, other ships don't have this and for manga such hints are rare to mean this very thing. for some reason some people think that sasuke could rape karin and sakura, that's why they look so sad in gaiden lol.
could kishimoto really leave these sexual hints and continue them in gaiden as an unrealized desire to bring karin and sasuke together? why did he never comment on that suigetsu's line? why did suigetsu even get the impression that karin and sasuke could be together? i mean there must be some sence to make him think like that and i beleive kishi wouldn't throw such stuff unintentionally.
anyway, is sasuke really that kind of character who would have a sexual relationship with someone he doesn't love, who would use someone for sexual favors and then throw them away like an unnecessary tool (which is exactly what sasuke did to karin in the end)? and i know databooks aren't canon, but what is the scence to tease fans with such hints?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"The truth is, I know… A long time ago, you (did something) to/regarding Sasuke."
The line doesn't imply they did something together, but that Karin did something regarding Sasuke.
What an amazing jump through mental hoop to come to the conclusion that it means they had sex. Yes I'm sure they had sex at age 13. That's definitely what was Sasuke's priority when he came to Oro's place. But we have to remember the person who wrote the "meta" of Sasuke and Karin having sex also said Itachi was fucking multiple women at same age and also was being passed around by the council (the wording they used).
Tumblr media
It was pretty easy to tell from their whole convo that Suigetsu was trying to piss Karin off. 'That's why you're always stuttering' etc. Sasuke isn't even phased, just a bit annoyed. Them quarreling is distracting from the mission.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was just a bit before that moment of Karin slapping Suigetsu. As you can see Sasuke is a bit confused by Karin's behaviour. He also doesn't want to let her come too close. It should be OBVIOUS these two aren't in a sexual relationship, or relationship of any kind at this point. Come on now.
Databooks... aren't canon, once again. They are written by random people.
Suigetsu talks a lot of shit, he's a troll, yet it's treated as gospel. He finds Karin annoying so he wants to mess with her attempts to get together with Sasuke. Guess what, Oro constantly brings up how Sasuke is affected by Naruto. And Oro is a character who is very intelligent and perceptive. He never says/thinks Sasuke is affected by Karin. It's almost like Kishi wanted to point out how important Naruto is to Sasuke and how deep Sasuke's feelings lie, while he used Karin for comic relief most of the time.
Sasuke, who didn't even kill the men Orochimaru brought to him because of his good heart, sacrificed Karin, a teammate, for his revenge. That was his low point. It's really not hard to understand.
Oh my god... Obito's comment is about Karin's abilities, I have talked about this already. [link]
Suigetsu sure, because again he's a troll character. Naruto never implied Sasuke slept with Karin, he was just frustrated on what a mess the whole thing was. Which is why he said 'teme'. The whole goddamn Gaiden is making fun of both SS and SK and some people still don't see it...
"It could indicate that sasuke slept with both karin and sakura and simply did not know whose daughter sarada was."
I'm amazed some people understand Sasuke's character so little that they genuinely think he would do something like that. XD
"in their opinion, sk is the only ship where there is something erotic" wrong [link]
"could kishimoto really leave these sexual hints and continue them in gaiden as an unrealized desire to bring karin and sasuke together?"
No. Imagine thinking that after how Kishi made Sasuke stabbing Karin into comic relief soon after lol. He doesn't care about Karin enough to have any desire to bring her anywhere, especially not with Sasuke.
"for some reason some people think that sasuke could rape karin and sakura, that's why they look so sad in gaiden lol"
Again amazingly terrible mischaracterization especially when Sasuke has always rejected both Sakura and Karin and they have been the aggressors towards him.
"is sasuke really that kind of character who would have a sexual relationship with someone he doesn't love, who would use someone for sexual favors and then throw them away like an unnecessary tool"
No.
"is that true sasuke and karin fucked in canon?"
No. SK and Sasuke stans who are homophobic are just desperate to prove Sasuke wants to fuck women.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The scene of Karin hitting on Sasuke and Sasuke being confused and also telling her to back off, and these ones here, just show Sasuke does not see Karin that way. It's only Naruto he is comfortable with touching him, and the one he goes out of his way to touch even when there's no need to (like to save someone from falling).
The people giving these arguments are just delusional like SS, it can't be helped.

On Izuna's Personality
Information from databooks: From older databooks we know he's devoted, peace-loving and loves training with Madara. In the newer databook it is stated he's self-sacrificing/devoted, harmonious/balanced.
Information from manga: There's not much information about him in the manga, as he barely appears in it – he's on like five pages, eight or nine if I'm being generous and count the unreliable narration of Itachi and Obito, and the only flashback he actually talks in is Hashirama's, so let's look at those pages.
Chapter 623: Izuna, if I'm not mistaken, firstly appears in this chapter on the faithful day on the river, where Madara awakens his Sharigan. Here, I have to remind that this entire flashback is from Hashirama's perspective, not from Madara's, therefore we cannot tell for sure how exactly Madara's family found out he's meeting Hashirama. The reason I'm mentioning this is because often, people assume Izuna was watching Madara and/or was told to watch him just like Tobirama was, and while it could be the case (both families had the same idea of following Madara/Hashirama, so maybe they also both found out about their meetings the same way), we truly cannot be sure.
Izuna here likely followed his father's orders/wishes and went head to head with Tobirama, who, according to the databooks, was his equal on the battlefield.
In the manga panel linked above we can see Izuna looks quite calm as he surveys his opponents and refers to Tobirama by his name, and Tobirama reciprocates.
Chapter 624: On the first page of this chapter (the panel down left), Izuna again looks very calm and also focused as he's about to clash with Tobirama. Interesting to note that Tajima's face looks very focused and calm as well, while both Butsuma's and Tobirama's faces look almost enraged, especially Tobirama's face.
The difference between Izuna's focused and still relatively calm expression and Tobirama's enraged one is more clear on the second page of this chapter. I believe Izuna is biting his lip which is the first sign of any emotion that he displayed so far (that and his widely opened eyes as he focuses on his opponent). Even as the fight between him and Tobirama continues (the first panel), Tobirama is still the one whose face is way more expressive, he clearly grits his teeth in battle rage.
Small but cool detail: The first panel shows both Butsuma and Tajima looking down at their sons. It's cool Kishi not only thought of telling us that each of them would be unbalanced if their son died in front of their eyes, but he also showed us. No one will convince me Kishimoto isn't an amazing writer/artist when he clearly cares for small details like this...Anyway, back to Izuna.
Now this and this page are the first pages where Izuna visibly shows any emotion, both times it's him being surprised. Showing surprise when an opponent unexpectedly attacks you is normal in the Naruto verse, other characters do it as well – it's a way of keeping the reader invested in battle scenes – that means the first page doesn't tell us much about Izuna's character, however the second surprised reaction does.
The second time Izuna is surprised, he's surprised because his brother admitted he is weaker than Hashirama. That means Izuna admires Madara greatly. It's also in character for Madara as he likes to boast about his abilities, so Izuna not seeing fault in him is very likely. Izuna's disbelief is clear on his face. (This is also the second time he says anything and I love how the animated version made Izuna's voice softer when speaking to his brother.)
Later, when Madara awakens Sharingan, Izuna is clearly elated.
So far it seems Izuna shows any kind of emotions more freely when he's interacting with his family.
I don't know if I should count this page, because Izuna was just mortally wounded here, but I will mention that there is a difference between the manga and anime version in this scene. In the anime, when Hashirama makes the offer (or should I say a threat?), Madara makes a slight move towards Hashirama as if he was about to agree, and in that moment Izuna stops him, implying he sensed the movement and stopped his brother. In the manga, there is no visible movement on Madara's part. We only get a close up of his face, but here's the thing: only we, the readers and by extent Hashirama, can see that. Izuna at this moment is looking down or is perhaps on the edge of passing out due to pain. Madara made no movement and Izuna couldn't see his face, which means Izuna had to guess that Madara was considering Hashirama's offer through other clue. So...what was the clue?
Looking at canon characterization of Madara, he is often vocal when he doesn't like something or when he doesn't agree with something, so the fact that Madara was quiet, might have told Izuna he's considering accepting the truce.
Another interesting thing is that Madara respected Izuna. How do I know? He listened to him, to his advice. He also clearly tried to keep his oath to him to protect the clan (and perhaps that was the reason why he stayed in the village for so long even after overhearing the conversation between Hashirama and Tobirama). These behaviors show both brothers likely knew each other very well, trusted and respected each other deeply, and of course loved each other too.
So, what do we know about Izuna? We still don't know much, but it does seem he was very devoted – to his family and his clan. He cared about his clan's safety. His desire to keep them safe and to make sure Madara and by extent his clan wouldn't be deceived could have been stronger because he was also the head of his clan, therefore the clan was his responsibility too. The manga also showed he was willing to sacrifice himself for the good of his clan.
He was clearly very calm, focused and collected, rarely if ever showing emotions during battle. Even Madara, a very skilled Shinobi, shows emotions (raging from absolute boredom to absolute excitement) during battle.
As for the other characteristics mentioned in the databooks: Peace-loving and harmonious: We don't know nearly enough about his character to say this with certainty, and it's important to note (once again) that this entire flashback is from Hashirama's POV only. But he did give Madara his eyes to protect the clan, so it's pretty possible he wanted peace and harmony for his clansmen.
Loves training with Madara: Again, nothing in the manga (beside Itachi's and Obito's narration) suggests this, but given the fact Madara loved to fight and loved testing his abilities against Hashirama, it's likely he would have trained with Izuna as well. Also, how else would they teach Izuna to fight if they didn't train, right?
Now...why the heck did I write all of this? One of my reasons is that I wish to write more fanfiction about Izuna, and I like to stay as close to CANON characterisation as possible.
The biggest reason is that I'm tired of the quite honestly terrible interpretations of his character.
He's either the definition of a monster with no heart or a cute fluffy creature who's super in love with Tobirama. Both interpretations lack depth, although the first one at least acknowledges Izuna as a warrior.
I was also quite confused when I found out that many people seem to believe Izuna and Tobirama parallel each other? And while yes, both of them are younger brothers of reincarnations of Asura and Indra (Hashirama and Madara) and while they were, according to the databooks, equals in power, I see no other similarities between them? Even if we say they parallel each other, then...in what? We know nearly nothing about Izuna, so how can we even make this claim?
And from the little we know about him (and from what I've written above), they seem to be very different, but maybe that's what the parallel is supposed to be about.
In any case, this was my attempt to define Izuna's canon character.

The comments are all on Hinata's side of things, saying she's kind etc😑. Even saying she should kill both Naruto and Sasuke etc😔 blaming it all on Naruto for being 'really selfish' and him having 'a perfect marriage to a trophy wife to continue his bloodline' like... lol lmao that's Naruto being the trophy husband to Hinata not the other way around.
This is why reading SNS fanfics is sometimes😨😵(though there is a NH tag as well but I thought it'd be SNS ending but nope it's going to be NHS threesome apparently... Really wish I could delete this fanfic from my mind).
Hahahaha. Well what can you expect from such a fanfic and its readers who utter such idiotic non sense?
Because all these fics hinge on all sorts of incredibly faulty interpretations of the manga. It was Hinata who pursued Naruto, and not the other way round. It's Hinata who wanted to marry Naruto, be by his side, no matter how much he ignored her. It was her being selfish and not just with Naruto but also with Neji. Naruto is the trophy husband, what has she even done to be a trophy? Lol. She is a well established liability, a weird looking (Naruto's words, not mine) liability. And even if Naruto wanted a divorce, she would sacrifice her kids to the sungod before she would divorce Naruto. Kill Naruto and Sasuke, lol. It's them who are carrying the franchise on their shoulders while Hinata is less than a side character. It's one thing that fans like a character and want what they think is best for them but denying or dismissing a whole ass story for a character that's barely even there, is just plain juvenile. Anyone could be killed lol. I would like to see Hinata try. Except she would probably trip on a tiny ass pebble, fall face first and then request Neji's ghost to do it for her while crying her ass in her squeaky voice. Lol. She epitomizes weakness of both spirit and body. Also, she doesn't have the brains or presence of mind that she would require to even plan an attack. Her stans are masters at overestimating her when Kishi did everything to write her as weak, pathetic, entitled and self absorbed.
Eh these fans are probably just kids whose sense of comprehension is still WIP. Don't take them seriously. There are all sorts of fans in the fandom, just find who you gel with and avoid the rest. Otherwise you are in for a lot of disappointment and annoyance.

Interlude (Oc x Gojo Satoru)
Continuation of part of my fic that I'm not including in it.
“... is this thing even on?” a staticy voice asked no one in particular.
“Well maybe if you stopped hogging the camera, we could tell.” another voice sighed.
“Hey, let me try to help, Gojo.” a soft voice asked. The white haired male groaned reluctantly before handing the camera equipment over to the lilac eyed girl. She tinkered with it for a bit before humming. “Yeah, it’s on. I’ll set it up.”
The camera was placed on a tripod and aimed towards a group of four teenangers. The lilac haired girl sat down by the black haired dude and the brown haired girl with a cigar in her mouth, the white haired male sat across from her.
“Alright, who’s starting this thing?” Shoko sighed, taking a drag of her cigar.
Kishi shrugged, before looking at Geto and Gojo. “I’ll start.” Geto said, looking at Kishi. “Truth or dare, Kishi.”
“What!? Why am I the first target?”
“Simple, cuz you're the weakest out of all of us!” Gojo laughed, slapping his knee.
Geto rolled his eyes, “Ignore him Rei, just remember if you refuse the dare or the truth, you gotta take a shot.” He gestured to the shot glasses you had prefilled for everyone. “So, which will it be?”
“Dare! I’m stronger than you all think!” she exclaimed proudly.
“Show your dm’s with one of us. It’s your choice.”
“My dm’s? Oh sure. Easy.” Kishi muttered, pulling up Shoko’s dm’s with her on her phone. “There.”
Gojo instantly snatched her phone from her hands before quickly reading as much of the texts as he could. “.... your dms… are so dull! C’mon Kishi! Where’s all the drama?”
“I’ll never tell. Besides, Geto didn’t tell me which dm’s I had to show.”
“Aha! So you do have drama!” Gojo exclaimed before Geto took the phone for himself.
“... he’s right.. You just had to pick the most mundane dm’s, didn’t you?” Suguru sighed.
“She’s playing the game well, can’t blame her for that.” Shoko laughed.
“Okay, who’s going next?”
“Shoki! Truth or dare?” you asked happily.
“Dare.”
“I dare you to give your biggest dare to Satoru!”
“WHAT!?” Gojo screamed.
Kishi stuck her tongue out at him. “Sucks to suck!”
“So I can just pass on a dare to him?” Shoko asked. You and Geto nodded eagerly. “Alright… Gojo, I dare you to do marry, fuck, or kill with us.”
“What!? What happened to the kiss option!?” he whined.
“Just answer and stop stalling.” Suguru sighed.
“Fineeeeee…. Marry Kishi, fuck Suguru and uh guess that means I kill you Shoko, sorry boss.” he shrugged.
Kishi’s face went flushed. “Y-you’d fuck Suguru!?”
“It’s cuz he wants to marry you.” Shoko sighed. “Who would’ve known.”
“What!?” Kishi and Gojo yelled in unison.
“Hell no! I-I like Kishi yeah but not like that!”
Suguru laughed before bringing out his phone to show the group.
“What is this Geto?” Kishi asked.
“My dm’s with Satoru, thought you'd enjoy them.” he laughed as Gojo tried desperately to grab Geto’s phone.
“Geto!! Stop showing those!” Gojo exclaimed.
“Suguru, why are you showing them?” Shoko asked.
“Cuz, he’s stubborn and won’t do this himself. Let’s see, 1:36 am “Dude, I don’t get it. When I’m near Kishi, it gets hard to breathe” and “Do you think I should try asking her out?””
“GETO!” Gojo screamed, blushing like a maniac before tackling Geto.
Kishi paused before laughing loudly. Gojo looked at Kishi horrified. “Pfft! Seriously, you thought you’d get me with that guys!? Gods… Gojo wouldn’t be that serious ever first of all, and second, you’d think I’d believe he likes me? Of all people? Hell no!”
Gojo looked at her sadly while Geto simply sighed. “You never know, Rei.  Maybe a miracle could happen.” Gojo went on his phone, typing something frantically before Geto’s phone buzzed. Shoko raised an eyebrow to him as Satoru glared at him, mouthing ‘shut it’.
Geto’s phone buzzed sporadically. He groaned before picking up his phone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Are you guys done texting each other?” Shoko groaned. Gojo put his phone down before scooting next to Kishi.
“Kishiii~ Truth or dare.” Gojo cooed.
She tilted her head. “Uh.. dare?”
“Alrighty… I dare you… to stay with me forever.” Gojo asked, his voice taking a more serious tone. “I dare you to always come to me when you need it, to rely on me and to trust me.”
“Um, where is this coming from Goji?” she asked, blushing a bit.
“Let’s just say.. You deserve more than what you have currently. I want to help you get what you deserve.”
“Pfft, how is she supposed to fulfill that?” Shoko chuckled.
Gojo shrugged, “It’s up to her and time.”

wow I just saw the "Kakashi is hypocritical for helping Shikamaru" lol, three years passed, Kakashi could have grown up and understood his mistake, I love Sasuke but his fans sometimes make him look like the only victim in Naruto, also people can change, that makes them evolve. "Kakashi just happens to be a character he didn't write well" mmm I don't know what to say to that haha that doesn't make him bad written, his actions make sense. Sorry for this (I understand if you don't answer this so there are no more fights). Anon is right that we should block and continue as if nothing had happened but I hate that people twist things to want to defend their favorite, you can hate a character but you don't have to invent, that bothers me... even so you did well to agree to disagree
Oh no i fully agree.
Acting as if Kakashi’s the only badly written character and nothing he does makes sense is so weird. Like, Kakashi, a man who honestly belueves everything he does is wrong and everything bad that happens is his fault, deciding that he needs to approach Shikamaru’s scenario with revenge diffrently is not bad writing
I do wish Kishi had explored Kakahsi’s inner thoughts more, but it makes sense for his character
‘I told Sasuke to stop seeking revenge’
‘Sasuke left and joined orochimaru’
‘This was my mistake and i need to do better’
A natural conclusion to that thought process (which is in character for Kakashi) is ‘i need to help Shikamaru rather than tell him not to seek revenge’
He may have been right in telling Sasuke not to seek revenge, but Kakashi doesn’t see it that way. He see’s it as ‘i failed to stop Sasuke from leaving and i need to try and do better’
It’s what i like about Kakashi because he honestly tries to learn from his mistakes, even when he’s focused on the wrong mistake (he shouldn’t have focused on the ‘don’t seek revenge’ aspect, he should have focused on the ‘don’t leave my student’s when they need me, even for a mission’ aspect) but that also makes sense for Kakashi because he was made to believe from a young age that missions come first and even though he has evolved from that perspective completly changing it would be damn difficult

A Past Long Forgotten?
Chapter 2.
Words ~ 3454
Disclaimer ~ Characters belong to Voltage Inc
Link to Chapter 1 below ⬇️
Sharp aqua blue eyes scanned the room. They noted all the various security cameras, security personal, and locations of all of the exits. She internally mapped out the entirety of the hotel in her mind. A blue print forming in her head.
The hotel was lavish. Expensive décor. Crystal chandeliers. Rich guests, dolled up for a night in the casino or bar, or any of the other facilities the Tres Spades boasted. Whispering to Hugo, MC noted,
“Clearly has a thing for opulence, doesn’t he?”
“I wonder if we will meet him tonight?” Hugo squealed, blushing. All MC could do was chuckle, knowing full well Hugo had gone into full blown fan girl, crush mode.
“I have no intention of making any move to connect with him. He is not my target. And frankly nothing good would come from meeting him here tonight. It just happens that my target uses his hotel… unfortunately.”
Hugo was obviously aware of her past experiences with Eisuke. When was it she had confided her past in him? When he had been the one to discover Eisuke was searching for her?
“Spoilsport.” Hugo grunted, although the soft, understanding smile on his face belied his moaning.
“Hugo, lets head to the casino. Play a few games, giving me the chance to look around inside, then we can leave”.
Nodding to her once, Hugo escorted MC into the casino. Acting the perfect combination between gentleman and protector.
As they made their way through the doors, MC could feel as all eyes fell on her. She felt blanketed by the stares. Nonetheless, she kept her head high, face forward. Not once glancing at those staring her way.
Stares of others was something she had become well accustomed to over the years.
“Babe, everyone is looking at you!” Hugo squeaked. His eyes widening with excitement. Smiling at him, MC shook her head. Simply shrugging.
“Nothing new, not with your talents of making me look a million dollars” Her comment made Hugo blush, turning as red as a strawberry.
As they continued walking, MC detected a different sort of stare. Not hostile, for the hairs on the back of her neck did not stand on edge in the way hostile stares made them.
Although, they certainly were not admiring stares either.
They felt inquisitive, as though questioning who she was.
Careful, as to only move her eyes, she found the source of these gazes. Her eyes briefly finding a group sat in the middle, playing poker.
Five men gazing her way. Each gaze slightly different.
The man she recognised as Mitsunari Baba gazed adoringly her way. The desire and lust of this ladies’ man evident in those brown eyes. The artist, Ota Kisaki, too held similar affection in his look. Although, his was accompanied by a sort of innocence. Cute.
The lazy detective, Mamoru Kishi, briefly glanced at MC before looking away, back down at his cards and raising the bets. To an untrained eye, you would think he was uninterested by MC’s presence. However, she noticed the subtle glances he sent her way. The questions forming in his head.
Soryu Oh, now his gaze bored into her. He was clearly questioning who she must be. Was she friend or foe? It was almost entertaining to watch his attempts to determine this flit across his face.
But it was the cold glare of Eisuke Ichinomiya, looking her way. It could be seen as anything. Anything from intrigue or malice, or lust. His eyes followed her every move. Seeing him staring at her prompted a waver in MC’s heart, of feelings from the past, a past which should be forgotten.
No.
A past that IS forgotten.
MC forced a lid over those feelings. Her mask firmly in place.
It was not her intention to make any sort of contact with any of these men. Frankly, she would have preferred them to not have noticed her. So, she took her eyes off the group. Proceeding towards the roulette wheel.
Maybe she’ll stay longer tonight, so she can observe them too? Risky, she thought. But at least she wouldn’t be bored.
Leaning in close to Hugo, MC whispered into his ear,
“We’ve sparked their interest. Ensure you don’t look around too much while we are here. Move only your eyes. We don’t need them getting too close. We’ll play the roulette for a few spins and then move onto a different poker table”.
“Got it” Hugo nodded. They began placing their bets. All the while, MC could sense the gazes of the group on her back. A burning, as though they really could burn holes in the back of her head with their looks.
They played a few games. So far, MC had correctly chosen the number and colour on the roulette wheel each time.
“Black, 15” She said. But she had not been alone in voicing it. Moving only her eyes, she noticed Eisuke had joined the roulette table and was standing beside her. Eyeing her, as he placed his bets.
Shit, she thought she would manage to avoid him a bit longer. How long had passed since their voices had overlapped? Although her face and demeanour would not show it, inside she was busily calculating the success of any of her attempts to move away.
“Ma’am will you be placing a bet also?” The employee spinning the wheel asked her. The sound of their voice bringing MC out of her head.
Still refusing to look at Eisuke, MC quietly shook her head, moving away from the table. Her long curls swaying, offering her face and features some protection from Eisuke’s knowing stare.
Dipping her head in a polite, graceful bow in thank to the employee, MC placed her hand into the crook of Hugo’s arm. The pair elegantly walking in search of another table.
The gesture seemed to frustrate Eisuke, as his eyes followed MC as she moved towards the poker table. His glare boring into her, did not go unnoticed by the agent.
“Did you guys see that? She just completely ignored Boss!” Baba exclaimed in shock.
“Ahahahaha that won’t please Eisuke!” Ota laughed heartily. MC could feel Soryu’s glare harshen at her brazen attitude towards Eisuke as she passed them to the other poker table.
Despite his glare, as sharp as daggers, MC still was undeterred. A fact which surprised the bidders.
“Kid’s got guts” Mamoru said, while exhaling the smoke from his cigarette. Clearly, he was now displaying a more open interest in her than to the casino.
“I think I may have caught their attention” MC smiled, Hugo, slightly nervously coughed.
Looking to the side, she noticed a few other seats at the table had been taken. Fuck. Opposite her now, sat Eisuke. Still, he had not taken his eyes away from her. The other seats, now occupied his friends.
“Brillante, esto debe ser bueno. Por qué no me dejarían en paz esta noche? (brilliant, this should be good. Why could they not just leave me alone tonight?)” MC muttered under her breath to herself, making Hugo laugh, and earning a harsher glare from the man sitting opposite her.
“What did she say?” Ota asked the others, all of them looking around at each other. Yet Eisuke kept his gaze firmly on her.
“It was Spanish. Although, I am not sure what she said exactly” He stated.
At this, MC for the first time tonight, finally looked at him. And smiled. The minute she looked directly at them, they all gasped.
A slight uncertainty filled Eisuke’s eyes, as he stared directly into hers. She held his gaze. Never looking away. Shit… had he recognised her?
“Woah! No one has ever held Eisuke’s gaze before!” Ota exclaimed.
Now it was Soryu who was looking at her. He, too, reacted in the same way when he came face to face, finally looking into her eyes.
“Only one other person could ever hold Eisuke’s gaze. But… we haven’t seen her around in years.” Soryu stated, trying to get a better read of MC.
MC made sure she kept her features schooled. Despite her inside turmoil, wondering if she had been found out, she remained outwardly undeterred.
“Oh yeah, what was her name again?” Baba asked.
“MC…” Eisuke breathed her name out. While it was in reply to Baba’s question, his eyes continued looking directly into MC’s. Almost as if he was speaking her name directly to her. Beckoning her.
Her heart stopped. Stomach dropping. To anyone around her, she appeared calm. No different. But inside was a blizzard of emotions. Emotions that she had locked away.
A past, long forgotten. Like a mantra, she kept reminding herself. It was long ago. She had forgotten it all. ALL. OF. IT. No memory could remain.
Slowly placing her cards down, she turned to Hugo, who was already eyeing her cautiously.
“Go get the car. Be ready for me around the corner. Text me when you are down there and I will leave” She whispered in his ear.
Giving her a quick nod, Hugo hurried from the casino and downstairs.
“Entonces, estás listo para jugar? (So, are you ready to play?)” MC smiled. At this, Eisuke smirked.
“Let’s play”.
As we were dealt some more cards, Eisuke and MC never once took their eyes from each other.
Baba folded. Then Ota. Soon followed by Soryu and Mamoru.
It was just Eisuke and MC left. In her hand, she held a royal flush. She couldn’t lose. Eisuke pushed all his chips forwards.
“All in” He said, smirking.
Gods, she remembered playing poker with him when they were teenagers. That same trademark smirk when he thought he had won, riled her up then, and was still bugging her now.
All eyes focused on her. Smiling, she too, pushed all her chips into the middle.
“Todo en (all in)” Onlookers had begun murmuring around them. Suddenly, MC felt her phone buzz. Hugo was ready for her.
“Show your cards!” The dealer declared. Eisuke showing his, he had a straight. Everyone looked at him as though he had won. Then the dealer pointed to MC.
“Well played, Sir.” She said, standing from her seat, dropping the Spanish language with them for the first time that evening, but maintaining the fake accent hoping they wouldn’t know it was her. She tossed her cards forward, as though she had lost.
Baba grabbed them turning them over.
“ROYAL FLUSH!? She won!” He exclaimed.
But when they all turned to where she had been seated only moments earlier, all they could see was her weaving her way through the crowded casino, towards the exit.
“WAIT!” Eisuke’s shout trailed behind her, still MC did not turn around.
She needed to get out of there. Fast. It was a good thing she had compiled a blue print of the building in her mind earlier that evening allowing her to identify the quickest route out.
“Soryu, catch up with her, I want to speak to her!” Eisuke barked his order.
Oh, hell no, MC thought. A quick glance behind her showed Soryu come running her way. Welp, good thing she knew how to run in heels!
As she made her way through the door, she turned back once more noticing Soryu was still following her. Great… she couldn’t lead them towards Hugo and the waiting car like this.
Continuing to make a run for it, she navigated her way through the back alleys to give her a chance to break out onto a different busy street and hopefully gain some distance between her and her pursuers.
Phoning Hugo, she quickly informed him of her dilemma and instructed him to get home as it was far too risky to wait for her. Promising him she would inform him when she was home, she ended the call and continued running through the dark, thin alley.
After running further into the alley, she found the perfect spot before the end of the busy street to hide. And just in time too, for Soryu rounded the corner shortly after she had hidden herself away.
The sound of his feel splashing through the puddles littering the pavement. The sound of him kissing his teeth before starting to phone someone, echoed through the empty alleyway. Snippets of their conversation filled MC’s ears.
“Eisuke, I lost her. She must have blended in with the crowd after I followed her through the alleyways.” … “I’m sorry Eisuke.” … “Yes, she looked just like her, but it has been so long and we haven’t ever found any evidence she’s living around here, I couldn’t say for certain.” … “No I know her eyes were the same, but without speaking to her we can’t be certain.” … “Don’t forget, MC didn’t speak Spanish?” … “Look, I’m on my way back, we can try see if we can turn up any new information on MC again, but I doubt we will find anything.”
With that, she heard Soryu vacate the alley. Once she was certain he was gone, she stepped out from her hiding spot and headed out onto the busy streets.
Looked alike… MC… they really were looking for her. This was the last thing she needed while her mission was taking place inside his bloody hotel!
When she finally made it back to her apartment, she updated the Boss.
He had been impressed she had taken the initiative to scope the place out, and had obtained a ticket to the IVC, and also identified verifiable information regarding the black-market auctions.
However, he also stated it was now too risky for her to engage in the game, particularly since she had a history with Eisuke, under the circumstances where he was aware of her true identity. As such, she was instructed to not investigate until the next IVC, as a way to prevent potentially blowing her cover.
She would be free for two days. Therefore, she opted to roam through the streets of Japan, a place she hadn’t spent much time in recently due to missions keeping her away.
Pulling her long locks back and up into a messy bun, and applying some lighter, natural makeup, MC slipped into a cream knitted jumper, and some black high waisted skinny jeans, and some white daps. Putting her air pods in, she started playing a random playlist and headed out.
After walking the streets window shopping for a couple of hours, she decided to head into a café with a cute interior. It had a cute, cosy vibe and was quiet, despite it being the middle of the day. The wooden tables and benches, and the shrubs gave the place a rustic vibe.
Ordering herself a spiced latte and a slice of cake, she made her way over to a table at the back, in the corner, furthest from the door. She may not be working, but she still wished to remain inconspicuous.
Soon the waiter brought over her order, thanking him politely, MC turned to look out the window absentmindedly.
All of a sudden, there was a commotion by the café door. Looking up, MC saw none other than Eisuke and Soryu, walking in. Well that was her break in the café over.
Slowly, so as not to create any suspicion or draw any notice, she left some money on the table and made her way towards the exit with her head down.
They both seemed distracted by the crowd of women surrounding them, creating the perfect commotion for MC to leave undetected.
As she was scurrying away, she overheard Soryu speaking to Eisuke.
“She’s gone” A quick glance at the pair showed her their eyes were directed to the seat where she had been only moments earlier. Surely, they had not come in just to see her…
“Ugh, keep looking for her. I need to speak with her.” Eisuke grunted a reply.
As he turned his eyes suddenly met with MC’s, as though her gaze had lingered too long and drawn his to her. But as quickly as they had met, MC turned, disappearing into the bustling streets.
“Soryu, there!” Eisuke’s shout followed her. Great. They couldn’t have just left her in peace.
Luckily wearing daps meant she could run even faster than when she was wearing heels yesterday, making today’s daring escape 100 times easier.
She ran. And ran. Making her way across town, with only one destination in mind.
Shige’s workshop.
If she got to his workshop, she could hide. If they followed her, they would be none the wiser that it wasn’t your typical workshop.
She could sense she was being followed. They were keeping a polite distance. One where they wouldn’t lose her, nor would they spook her into running quicker.
Glancing behind her, she could see it was as expected, Eisuke and Soryu following her. Turning around, she started to speed up. Almost there. As she stepped into the alley, she began to run.
“Wait!” Their voices called from behind her, as two sets of footsteps, too, picked up pace. Quickly, looking behind her, she noticed they were no longer in sight, so she slipped into Shige’s store.
“MC?” Shige looked at her concerned. Her breathing told him everything he needed to know, yet she still explained. Even if it was in rushed words, and heavy breaths.
“Let me hide, I’m being followed. I’ll explain after.” Nodding once, Shige opened the hidden door below his counter. MC crawled in, closing the door behind her. As soon as the door shut, she heard the chime of the bell on the front door and two sets of footsteps, announcing her pursuers had arrived.
“Can I help you gentlemen?” Shige asked the people who had just entered.
“Where is the girl who just came in here?” Eisuke demanded.
“You’re my first customers this afternoon, I’m afraid”
“Do. Not. Lie. To. Me.” Eisuke responded clearly angry with Shige’s response, “We saw her come in here”
“Wasn’t here I’m afraid” This time it was Soryu’s turn to ask questions.
“Look we’re looking for someone who was a friend once. We haven’t seen her in years and we thought we’d seen her again last night, and then again in a café just now. We just want to see if it is her.”
“I wish I could help, but as I already said she didn’t come here”
“You’re lying!” Eisuke yelled. “Come on Soryu” With that she heard them both leave, the bell chiming to show they had walked through the door. MC heard Shige walk over and lock the door and closing the blinds before letting her out the secret room.
“Isn’t he someone you knew before you joined the EAC?” Shige asked, concerned.
“Yes… apparently they are still searching for me… They know my first name at least and associate it with my looks. But they haven’t seen or heard from me since I left my old life behind. I don’t understand why they are still searching for me when I disappeared years ago! And now my bloody target is staying in his stupid hotel!” MC spluttered. The frustration of the chase was evidence of the influence they had had on her emotions.
“That’s going to make your mission tougher then” Shige said with concern.
“You’re telling me… at least I like a challenge” MC smiled half-heartedly, letting a sigh escape her lips.
When she left the workshop, MC found herself walking back along the main road. Figuring she should purchase some food from the store, she headed into the closest convenience store.
Upon entering, she clocked the cashier. Shit. Baba sat behind the counter reading the latest horoscope readings. Best make this quick, and avoid eye contact. Picking up some Lady Borden and some other necessities, she headed towards the counter.
Hi there, pretty lady, is this everything?” Without looking up, MC smiled and nodded. “Have we met before? You seem familiar?” Baba asked. Simply shaking her head, keeping her eyes down, MC responded.
“No, I don’t come around here too often” And she wouldn’t be again, she thought. Finishing up, and paying for her items, MC started to leave.
“Aqua blue eyes are a rarity pretty lady. Not many people have them. Particularly in Japan.” His comment made her finally look up. Not disclosing her nerves, she offered him a friendly smile.
“So I have heard, but rare as they are, I am not the only person with eyes this shade. Maybe you have just been lucky enough to meet a few of us.” Baba didn’t seem convinced, he nonetheless, let her leave without asking any other questions.
MC made a mental note to herself… start wearing sunglasses or contacts to hide her eyes from people.

I love music; the hozier concert at santa barbara bowl October 28.
There are not many concerts I can report back on that really, really touch me. Things I really like to see:
The headlining artist thanks the opening artist
The headlining artist brings that artist back on stage to sing with them
The headlining artist introduces the band, stage hands, engineers, tour managers, etc.
The headliner gets personal with us, speaks from the heart, is authentically weird, talks about their inspirations.
Audience interaction; the headliner singles out members and/or invites the audience to sing along
The headliner observes the encore ritual (there are only a few concerts that have not observed the ritual and when they don’t I find it devastating)
Oh sure. I appreciate good production value, too. Lighting and visuals and props are nice. It’s nice, but not required.
Who has done this for me in the last two years? Who has hit all the marks? Kishi Bashi. Not Muse and not LP, though I still love them. And Hozier. Oh my! Our husband delivered all the things, but I was also struck by how good a person he is. If not 1, 2, and 3, then number 4 is unlikely to happen. But, wow. Number 4 exceeded in expectations.
Other things. Half his band is women. There were nine musicians, and four were women. All musicians got a solo, but he called out the names of the women most often for their performances. I guess that makes sense; his stage name is his mother’s maiden name.
Funny things. (a.) The women screaming and losing their minds when this musical god looking like a haggard Jesus, tall and lanky and graceful, walked out on the stage. Like he was Elvis or The Beatles. (b.) His dark humor. He introduced a song by saying: “I’m going to lighten the mood by singing a song inspired by seeing an animal get hit by a car.” W said, if he didn’t have dark humor he would not ,be her husband. I do like his sorrowful, melancholic, morbid whimsy, and I suppose I should have expected dark humor as well.
Human things. (a.) He stopped the band mid song when he was alerted to one of the audience members that fell down in the pit. He held up his hand toward the band and very gently, he said, “guys if we could pause please. Let’s pause. Someone has just gone down in the audience and I want to make sure they are all right before we continue. A lot can happen when you hit the ground. We can’t be too careful. I want to thank our audience for their patience and compassion.” The lights came up, and it took a few minutes, but the audience became quiet. When Hozier got the signal all was well they all resumed mid song. (b.) Call to action for peace. Hozier is from Northern Ireland which has a history of all sorts of turmoil and violence. He asked us kindly and gently to consider contacting our representatives to support the UN’s call for a ceasefire in the middle east. Apparently, the US did not support this resolution. He reminded us how instrumental international assistance was to brokering peace in Northern Ireland, allowing him to grow up in a peaceful place. Though a few people were shouting at him to Play Music, he held up a hand, beseeching their patience, and finished his short speech. (c.) When he talked about his inspiration, he talked about Mavis Staples, who he was so pleased to have worked with on Nina Cried Power. Her music was the poetry of the Civil Rights Movement, he said. And it directly influenced a civil rights movement in Northern Ireland. (d.) He did tell us he appreciated those of us doing the Halloween thing. He said hello to and excellent version of Super Mario in the pit, pronouncing it mary-o. Should I ever get a chance to chat with Hozier, I might ask him if he likes Halloween and if his songs are inspired by zombies and witches and cults.
Finally, I don’t cry at many concerts. But I absolutely did at this one. I won’t say what song made me lose it, nor why. But I’m sure I’m not the only one that got emotional there. I can’t be. That’s the power of music.

Narusaku said: "They steal nothing can change my mind. Boruto has no concept of his own since the start of the manga and Narusaku's content is well done and thought out because NS fans really understand the characters and the concepts Kishi left in the middle (like the Byakugo seal), we love this ship so much. Everything was done with love and thought something that the Boruto series failed to do….. Yes stealing and definitely not by accident. Honestly, I've read NS fics 300% better than the current Boruto manga/anime, but that's what the creators will do and I doubt we can do anything about it. I will just continue to enjoy the fact that our ship was better and they know it!! Great video as always……very excited for the Shinachiku and Kaika project"
this true?
No that isn't true NaruSaku was never a thing cause Kishimoto had no intention of doing it from the start. The manga shows Naruto's crush as somthing that is shallow the only reason NaruSaku got some bits in the middle of the manga was cause Kishimoto was planning to go for the love triangle, but overall they were never meant to be considered romantically.
There is no NS outside of their delusions, NS isn't better at all cause how the fandom sees it is not how they are shown in canon. There fics and everything are just their delusions of how they see/think NaruSaku should be when in reality the ship is an absolute trainwreck that didn't happen for good reasons.
NaruHina was done with love and thought Kishimoto planned it from the start and in the manga there are loads of subtle bits in every NaruHina interaction that makes it obvious the pairing was end game. The small details like how Naruto puts his hand over hers after the Neji fight, to his blushing and awe face when she calls him a proud failure then in the Pain arc when berserk Naruto actively avoids Hinata and gets Pain away from her where is as Naruto with lesser tails almost killed Sakura if not for Yamato.
As for Boruto I think the manga started well, the only real grip I have is Sarada getting the MS with such an asspull. However by how Kishimoto started it with a scene of teenage Boruto and Kawaki facing off in the village ruins and how events are finally catching up and Naruto and Hinata being sealed away you can tell he, put some thought in how it all plays out.
The anime issues are more due to the studio not Kishimoto and the worse of it is filler especially the Retsuden arc that killed the show.

Hey! I really like your posts about sasusaku and your interpretation of their relationship, it’s very similar with the way that I understand them, too. I’d like to know what are your thoughts about how their dynamic could have been on shippuden, since we had such few scenes between them, and what kind of scenes you would have added, maybe (aside from the fight scene that we all know should have absolutely happened, but the world was not ready and kishimoto was too much of a coward, I’m never forgiving him for that 😭)
First of all, thank you anon for this great ask! You have great taste ;). All of my ss posts are essentially my sleep-deprived thoughts typed on my tumblr screen because i use this site as my wip list :) It's great to see someone understand my incoherent wordings.
I'll keep the rest under the cut:
The problem with sasusaku is not a problem with the ship, but the deep rooted issue with kishi (derogatory) nerfing his own characters and throwing away their growth. As great of an artist he is, he's awful at execution of anything that requires extensive thinking. Add the underlying sexism (Japanese sexism to be exact) and you get the clusterfuck i.e., sasusaku.
I am a bit harsh on him when I can admit it must have been tiring to continue with this shitshow for ages especially when the publishers catering to the dudebros were pushing for better sales. If you compare early shippuden era to the later one, you'll be surprised at the lack of resemblance between the vibes. It's not easy being a famous manga artist of an anime like Naruto and I do hold some sympathy.
However, kishi is severely at fault over the romances in the manga. For someone boasting about bonds, the bonds between males and females conjured nothing but laughter.
Now, I'll be honest: I like sasuke and sakura before I like sasusaku and that's the entire reason why I started shipping them in the first place. Their characters are so complex and unlike Naruto, they don't shed these complexities in a last bid effort to be some sort of a savior.
I think a lot of people misunderstand both sakura and sasuke mostly because they don't look beneath the fact that she's a healer and he's an avenger. I find that interpretation weak and boring. Sasusaku is interesting to me because it's an unexplored story. Imagine taking a book out of the library, a rusty book with a solid spine, and when you open it, you find a delicious story that captures your heart. You turn it over for more only to find pages ripped off. Not all the pages are gone, but enough that you start finishing that book in your head, a lack of closure haunting you. That, my friend, is Sasusaku at its core.
It's soft yet cruel and we see them succumb to their worst demons and still you don't forget the only heartfelt apology bestowed upon to the person you've tried to kill. It's delicious!
I don't have any complaints about genin!sasusaku. They peaked there as a pairing. It was a perfect ending and while I have loads of thoughts on Sakura's character pre-timeskip, she was painfully human and normal.
Post-timeskip is... tricky. The problem I think resides with the lack of inner monologues given to Sasuke. It's almost like the creator doesn't know what he's thinking. While Sasuke doesn't hide behind lies, he keeps his cards close to his heart. As the story progressed, this got worse and I think this big mistake caused the entire series to suffer.
Dudebros might have been happy with Sasuke, but I wanted more Sasuke himself and less other's interpretations of Sasuke. I think that's why I prefer Sakura's interpretation of Sasuke: there's something honest and open about how she sees him. She loves him yet she doesn't hide him behind fllowery language.
Shippuden could have been a lot better if Sasuke's thoughts were shown. Continuously, I felt like the creator was trying to delude him because Itachi was a monster and he loved Sasuke, and according to the morals of Naruto, those two can't coexist. I would have dropped the entire Kaguya storyline and focused more on Sakura's role in the village.
Okay, okay, another pet peeve of mine: I hate it when Naruto is told to be Sasuke's brother. One of the best things Naruto gave me was the bond these two shared. Assigning labels cheapen them and while assigning labels to Sasuke's relationship with Sakura would have made SS far more exciting, Naruto and his relationship suffered for it. As a result, I also hate the reincarnation as brothers thing.
You know what I would have liked? Sakura taking up the position of a Senju in the story. Naruto doesn't need a half-assed Senju storyline when he already deals with his mom's Uzumaki heritage. Sakura, on the other hand, would have been perfect for it.
Until Itachi's death, there's no change. After, Madara informs Sasuke and starts spewing shit about Senju. Imagine Madara telling him that the current Hokage should be displaced. And then you can have an epic fight between SS (btw Sakura will lose unless Sasuke is at a disadvantage. As much as I love my girl, Sasuke is a better fighter. Sakura's skills are more in the research and healing department and as great as she is, she hasn't trained for revenge.)
I have loads of ideas lmao but a fight and Sakura's involvement with the corruption are two things I think would have made the series much more sensible and better. Oh and I would have removed the second confession scene and the subsequent genjutsu. Like only keep them if you want to show how traumatized Sakura is gonna be after that.
Anyway, sorry for rambling lol. I have a lot of ideas and no control over Naruto so my sadness knows no bounds.

so wtf is up w obito's height?
Tumblr media
(aka how tf is that a 1 cm height difference, kishi?)
(aka just working out the inconsequential detail that is Obito's vertical reach, compared to which perhaps only the Narutoverse continuity is more elusive...)
(just putting it out there for other obito simps to stress & mull over i guess lol)
so i randomly recalled some funny posts from ppl who hc Obito as the Tallest Uchiha™, being a whopping 6'3" while the other men of his clan are around 180 cm
and at first it seemed like just another canon?-what-canon? hc bc per the databooks he's 175-182 cm (whatever that hyphen means...)
and sasuke's adult height is also 182 cm, while madara is 179 cm (basically the same?), so
so much for "tall obito" hcs?
but... what if we doubt the databooks?
(wouldn't be the first time they've been wrong compared to canon manga content...)
let's say 175 cm is Obito's height at age 14 / 15, which turns out is quite normal for an Asian teen male, and would make sense because when he faced off with Minato, who is 179.2 cm, they seemed about the same height
let's say he uses henge (transformation jutsu) to keep appearing this height, even as he grew taller—bc he was supposed to be fully grown Madara and not a kid with the longest cosplay gig, going through puberty while managing a criminal organization and all that
(it's sorta a running joke by now: "pain & konan not noticing obito getting taller is a plot hole"—but maybe obito simply used henge, hence, no plot hole after all?)
so is that the reason for the hyphen? obito pretends to be 175 cm tall even into adulthood while his real height is 182 cm? (6ft tho, not 6'3")
but then i thought of that nigh-iconic panel of Obito & Kakashi, where they are drawn clearly from head to toe, standing side by side
(this was the only panel i could think of off the top of my head that you can use to compare obito's height)
now, Kakashi's height is 181 cm; this is purportedly consistent in the databooks, through parts I & II (makes sense since he's introduced as an barely functioning adult and has no reason to hide his height, unlike obito)
so obito should be, as far as we can see, practically the same height as kakashi.
(who can even detect a 1 cm height difference?)
if anything, thanks to kakashi's floofy hair, kakashi should appear taller than obito
but in this panel, obito seems to be taller than kakashi—by more than just 1 cm.
in dumblingo (only language i speak rly), i'd say he's about... a forehead taller?
Naruto - Chapter #666
aka srsly, how is this a 1 cm height difference, kishi?
Tumblr media
yellow lines: obito's head
red lines: kakashi's head
you can see that the top of kakashi's head (ignoring his epic floofly hair) only reaches the base of obito's forehead
(thanks to black zetsu we also clearly see the top of obito's head without (spiky) hair length muddying things up)
and kakashi's chin is just above obito's shoulders / clavicle
blue line: kakashi's shoulder
you can see that the line of kakashi's shoulders are lower than obito's—they're practically at obito's pecks
(i went by kakashi's left shoulder but you can see his right one also doesn't reach obito's, and it's worth noting: kakashi there is wearing a pretty thick protective vest / flak jacket, while obito is completely shirtless)
green line: their feet
aight idk how to calculate angles / perspectives n all but it should be fine to just go by their heels where you can see their foot flat (horizontally) on the ground right?
anyways...
it would make sense for obito in this panel to show his real height (as opposed to when he's method acting as madara or sth), because, to name just one reason:
he's had the jūbi ripped out of him & been forced to perform rinne rebirth (among other fun things, like losing his heart and having his throat slashed)—basically surpassing everyone in the Narutoverse survival olympics
so at this point, he should be way past wasting chakra for a henge, hence, this panel should be the most accurate reference for obito's height
and, based on this canon manga panel, he should be well above 181 cm—certainly more than the databooks' 182 cm
Tumblr media
left: obito's tallest possible height per the databooks
middle: kakashi's height
right: what obito's canon height is more likely to be, based on that panel of obito & kakashi in chapter #666
in conclusion:
canon obito should be closer to 6'3" or 190 cm (6'3" is apparently 190.5 cm) than the databooks' reported max height of 182 cm
and since manga canon trumps side content like the databooks, lemme validate the hc crowd and say...
those hcs of obito being 6'3" are more accurate / canon compliant than the databooks' 182 cm
(or maybe i need better glasses, idk)

Sakura is such a terribly written character, honestly she could have been replaced by anyone who had some medical knowledge and it would have been the same
And people are like "But it's Kishi that doesn't know how to write female characters, Sakura is better than that!"
And I'm always like "No?? Absolutely fucking not she isn't???" The fact that Kishi wrote her badly doesn't mean she's 'better than that' or whatever bullshit. That's canon. She may be written poorly but IT. IS. CANON.
Can we also talk about how Sakura acts towards Sasuke? She tries over and over again to push her love onto him, pestering him continuously even when he makes it clear that he's not interested, that he doesn't see her in that light. She follows him, refuses to let it go, begs him to take her with him, when she thinks that she'll never be able to 'save' him she tries to kill him
Now take all that and flip it around. A man doing this to a woman. People would have flipped their shit completely, screaming stalker and toxic and abusive and whoever knows what else
But no. Sakura is a girl, so she gets to pass with that kind of behavior because apparently a woman doing this to a man is not as bad as the other way around
And listen, I like fanon Sakura, but canon Sakura? I would blast her to the fucking moon right this moment, no questions asked
This is hands down a situation that happens with a number of characters in other fandoms too.
The creator writes the character one way, fandom takes over, fans begin to lose the ability to understand what is and is not canon, what is and is not directly implied by canon, and what is and is not pure fanon.
From there a good portion refuses to understand when it's acceptable and/or necessary to draw those lines. The argument becomes a blanket "if you don't like this character you either don't understand them or you xyz-phobic" instead of acknowledging the fact that the issue is both more complicated than either of those points and, at the same time, often much simpler.
And it perpetuates a cycle of discourse and hate on both sides for people who do and do not enjoy that character.
Naruto falls into a particularly bad trap of there being such a lack of well-written female characters that when you express dislike or criticism for the few that are more fleshed out it instantly becomes an issue of misogyny no matter your reasons.
I've seen so many posts/tiktoks/etc that are like "anime red flag: if they don't like Sakura something's wrong there" and I'm like "or, hot take here, maybe I just don't vibe with her canon characterization and that's just my opinion? My dislike of something does not and should not dictate your enjoyment of it and it does not always speak to some deeper truth about me as a person?"
I mean I don't like mushrooms either but it's not because a mushroom fucked my non-existent wife once in the past or because I'm fungi-phobic. I just don't like them, they don't taste good to me. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy them, it just means I'm not gonna order them and I don't want you shoving them onto my fucking plate if we're eating together.

People who say “Sakura deserves better” are nuts. She put HERSELF in that situation. She chased after Sasuke and continues to force herself on to him until he gave her what she wants. So in the words from a wise person: “She made her bed. Now she has to sleep in it.”
PS: If anyone deserves better is Sasuke, Naruto, TenTen, Neji, and anyone who didn’t get a good happy ending
There are many people who still screams, 'Kishimoto is bad at this and that'.
I am a person who thinks, 'Kishi is damn excellent at Character Building. He is not someone who is going to pull punches, he just jabs straight into our mind when it comes to establishing the characters and their motivations in a very few panels, say 2 or 3, and that too in a very early stage'.
Example
NARUTO
He is the titular character and got introduced in the 1st chapter, 6th page. Naruto is launched as the hyperactive kid who vandalizes the Hokage Monuments in the name of pranks and gets punished for it. We all would have thought, ‘Naruto is a typical Class Clown who likes to pull pranks’.
But after few pages (Meanwhile he pulled another prank by doing Oiroke no Jutsu before Iruka), that is at page 10, Kishi drives the first Knife right through our hearts with the following panel. This is the panel where Naruto is seen having his first conversation in the Manga.
Tumblr media
‘It’s not like I have anyone to go home to’.
Man!!!! This line really hurts... even now. This one panel tells us,
Naruto is a happy-go-lucky person who likes to pull pranks.
He is also an Orphan.
But such drawbacks will never hinders Naruto’s cheerful spirit at any time.
Despite not having any one to take care of him, he is not a person who will cry or wail in sadness forever.
Isn’t that who Naruto is?? Until the very end?
In a single panel, just one effing panel, Kishimoto informs the readers about Naruto’s Attitude and Background.
And immediately in page 12, We get this picture perfect gem of a panel.
Tumblr media
Now we get, Naruto’s dreams, where this Kid is striving towards and what motivates him. That is To
BECOME AN HOKAGE.
Isn’t that what he became at the end?
Kishi didn’t take chapters and chapters to create a dream for Naruto. He just went all-out in a span of 2 pages and in 2 panels.
Let’s see the other Main Character of this series.
SASUKE
In Manga, Chapter 3 was named Uchiha Sasuke whereas in the Anime, Pink Trash’s name was self-inserted too. Grrr.....
Anyways, Sasuke was introduced as some cool guy with IDGAF attitude. (Well, I thought he will be some arrogant Jerk with some K-Drama hero vibes. I hate these kind of jerks, tbh). We see he is popular among girls and a class topper.
We don’t know anything about his background yet.
But then, there’s this ‘Frame this Picture in your Home’ kind of panel was drawn in Page 21.
Tumblr media
God!!! This panel!!!!
“The feeling of a parent yelling at you is nowhere near what he feels”
Can I say it’s my most favorite panel of this series????
This panel screams many things
Sasuke is not just a cold looking jerk, but he is a person who stands up for insensitiveness.
He understands Naruto’s loneliness. Does it means Sasuke is also an Orphan or experienced something bad?? (In manga his orphan status wasn’t established yet).
He knows something about Naruto which we audience don’t know yet. That’s why he is defending Naruto even though Naruto kissed him and tied him up prior to this scene.
You will always get some reaction out of Sasuke when you talk about Naruto in front of him. More importantly, Don’t speak about him in a negative light.
21 pages into Chapter 3, Sasuke didn’t speak much about anything prior to this page. We don’t know anything about him apart from his aesthetics. But when he speaks, Kishi conveyed almost 60% of Sasuke’s Characterization in a single panel.
This is Who Sasuke is.... Even till the very end.
Immediately after this Chapter, We get the Team 7 introduction scene. We already knew about Naruto’s dream in chapter 1. He repeats the same here.
Tumblr media
We get Sasuke’s ambition. His ambition forms the major part of his character and he is damn serious about it.
He really did accomplish his goals in the end but in a much painful way. With just 2 panels, we get to know that his Clan is destroyed by someone and Sasuke wants to kill him. So, him being Orphan is almost a sure thing here. And what we can also infer from this panel is that Sasuke is a Goal-Oriented person.
Let move on to the Ms. Pink Trash
SAKURA
Well, For Naruto and Sasuke, Kishi was super detailed about setting up their character background.
For Sakura, we don’t know who she is or what is her back story. Throughout the chapter, her motivation is to get inside Sasuke’s pants.
Tumblr media
Up until page 19, Sakura behaves the same. Yeah, Am not going to include the orphan insult here because that will only do more damage. Am just going to be very generous and skip that part.
In Chapter 4, Sakura unveils her grand dream
Tumblr media
Geezzz!!!!! There’s nothing to discuss about her. She is just a horny girl who has no motivation, no goal or no dreams but to get Sasuke’s duck.
Isn’t this how she ended up as????
Why the fuck she deserves better?????
Kishi is screaming at us from Chapter 4, that ‘THIS IS YOUR SAKURA, THE HORNY QUEEN’. When Naruto and Sasuke’s characteristics were pretty much (like 90%) set in stone in the first 4 chapters and added to that, it never changed until the very end, how can he change Sakura’s motivations?
Yes, he could’ve made her into a woman who got inspired from Tsunade and want to surpass her and live independently without going behind a man.
But, I never saw any indication of that happening in any arcs. Even in Kazekage retrieval arc, Sakura became serious in fighting Sasori only after hearing Orochimaru’s name (getting info on him will lead to Sasuke). Prior to that, she was playing innocent girl who doesn’t know how to fight.
So, Kishi is dead set on not making this character evolve by letting go of her obsession towards Sasuke. She was just a character who was designed to elevate the level of bond between them or should I say ‘a useless 3rd wheel’?
No matter what,
Naruto and Sasuke will prefer to set their ambitions aside for each other rather than for Sakura.
Sakura’s life in danger never generated a pain in Naruto but the very thought of Sasuke who will be killed made him hyperventilate.
Sakura’s life in danger never evoked Kyuubi to emerge but Sasuke’s ‘apparent’ death, the thought of Sasuke cutting his ties with him, Orochimaru mentioning ‘My Sasuke kun’ made Naruto to go feral.
Even if 1000s of people were put in danger, Sasuke will prefer to save Naruto and run away.
Where is Sakura in any of this??? I’ve never seen any instances where Naruto or Sasuke put Sakura in a high pedestal, like Kakashi and Obito put Rin.
It’s not that she deserved better, It’s just that she had no useful motivations that drives her to evolve as a developed character.
Learn to Deal with the fact that Kishimoto never planned to give 2 fucks about her at any point of time. Let alone talking about deserving better. If you watch this series from the POV of the likes of Sakura, then you will spout shits like ‘Sakura is the only person who can beat Madara’.

you said kishi wrote a gay love story on purpose saying that the fact they invested so much in a 15 year long project is proof,
so why do all that and then ruin it at the end? have them be het, have children and create all that? what happened to the story 'they were so invested in'??
😳 Because it's shounen? What, did you expect them to get married in some gay ass ceremony with Sakura as their flower girl? Did you think they would kiss and Konoha would wolf whistle and throw rice at their heads? Did you really think that, that was a possibility? What are you even asking me? Guess you are new to my blog.
I will not repeat myself for your benefit, but you are welcome to go through my blog, the trials and tribulations of Kishi to continue writing a gay love story till the end, I repeat till the end because the last chapter is so utterly out of sync with preceding 699 chapters, you asking me this question seems almost surreal to me. But have at it.
However, it's not like having them be married to women and having children with them is such a proof of heterosexuality. No. The proof is in the narrative so fully rich with poetically and aesthetically placed nuances and twists and turns that assimilate so seamlessly with the development of Sasuke and Naruto's characters, that I don't have to look at a poorly manufactured and ridiculously inferior attempt of continuing to milk a gargantuan franchise for any fucking proof. Yes, that's what Boruto is.
And bless Kishi, who could have chosen to finally write Naruto and Sasuke as heterosexual in the sequel, but my dude still writes them like they are in love with each other while their actual wives either make do with twelve year long absences or sleep on their beds alone. We really don't need to know any of this for Boruto's sake but we still keep getting bombarded with throwbacks to SNS moments from part one and two. You think the producers aren't aware of this??
Look. It's really not that difficult a deduction. Like I always say, work with what you have. Solid facts. The fact is Kishimoto wrote 699 chapters dedicated to a love story between two male characters and that he didn't leave any stone unturned to tell us how they were made for each other visually, symbolically, narratively, like cosmic freaking lovers and this is all literally text. The haphazardly applied band aid that is the last chapter doesn't overturn any of that. Any conscientious reader or viewer should be able to see that.
People underestimate the process in which stories are written. Which is to say that they often ignore the deliberation with which an author decides to give us information about the plot and the characters. They don't question it, well if you don't question it, you won't understand it.
The fact is Kishimoto mindfully wrote a vastly intricate narrative that gently but routinely and firmly urged the audience to evaluate and revaluate the nature of Sasuke and Naruto's relationship in order to process the progression of the story. It is so well assimilated in this medium defined genre (shounen), that a younger, more inexperienced audience may still enjoy it without noticing the details that are so obvious, they are easy to miss. But a more mature audience will notice it. And marvel at the obviousness of the fine details. Naruto and Sasuke's story is a poetry of paradoxes. And trust me, it's a privilege to understand it in its finer details. I don't call it one of the greatest love stories in the world for nothing.
It's a coming of age story as well. Coming of age stories don't always end positively. Boruto does not read like a positive ending to me. Not for Naruto and Sasuke, the two heroes and survivors, who look so perennially dejected and defeated, Kishi makes a point of it. Why? Does this not scream investment? Why still be loyal to consistent characterization in a sequel that is not even about the two characters anymore?
Sigh...
The proof is in the pie. Like, please look nowhere else. It's all in there, just be more open, a bit curious. It's in text, subtext, visuals, like tbh, what I don't understand is how you miss it...
