so there’s a Christian SCAD student who did a collab with detransitioner Chloe Cole, and she and the dress designer are being absolutely lambasted in the comments by people claiming to be Christians but also trying to get them expelled from SCAD. so if anyone wants to jump in and leave a word of solidarity, I’m sure it won’t go unnoticed

Heya! Love your art, and I saw you mention art classes a few times, and was wondering if that meant you were currently at an art school...I'm currently looking for a good one, any ideas? (also your TAZ posters give me life I want twenty)
Thank you!! Yes, I go to SCAD Hong Kong (I specify this bc I’ve had different experiences after going to both, I love the HK campus a lot more imo since we tend to lovingly tear each other apart LOL). I’m on my senior year now- it’s been fantastic working with professors and my peers! I would recommend it for its connections, how it teaches you skills pertaining to your field post-graduation, and, if you ever visit the HK campus, how rigorous it is.
I can’t really speak for the schools that I know about, but I think you should consider what you’re keen on majoring in first! I personally went into SCAD thinking I was going into Animation but eventually switched to Sequential Art, and loved it ever since. It also depends on what you’re willing to spend for getting that degree, bc it’s definitely not cheap, and with art, the industry’s pretty saturated and can take years to break in.
So ofc I’ll rec SCAD, and there’s other notable schools like CalArts, RISD, Parsons, CCA, Art Center, SVA, Sheridan… and the list goes on! Not all have guaranteed entrance, but definitely worth a shot. Again, can’t speak for them myself but the student outputs I’ve seen are pretty awesome!
IMO I can’t look at SCAD all that objectively since I’ve met so many amazing people, but I feel that the experience and your willingness to learn and improve will matter more than the school you choose. You can go to a good art school and believe that you’ll improve because of that, but meeting peers who push you with your work and professors that deliver hard critique, is in itself a learning experience.
Sorry I got pretty long here, but I hope this answers your question, anon!!

The flavours range from mild to hot or extremely spicy; there are rice meals and noodles and choices of any meat like chicken and duck and seafood too so if you want to immerse in the food culture of Singapore, eating Hawker Food is your best bet.
Visit a Hawker Central after you go shopping or touring the place.

October 15th, 2017
“I’m living in a little one family home in some suburb. I open the sliding glass door to let my dog out into the back yard. He’s being stubborn and just sitting there, staring at the opening. I roll my eyes and go back into the kitchen to put some things away, figuring that he’ll go out when he’s ready. A few minutes later, I check on the pup, and I am greeted by a ton of stray cats and dogs in my living room. I freak out internally for a moment. How am I supposed to react in this type of situation? The only thing I could think of was to just shoo them out. Once they were out of the house, I try to shoo them out of my yard too. A couple of dogs try to bite at my ankles but I catch them by the muzzle, look them in the eye and show them who’s boss. Finally, all the animals leave without too much of a fight. I walk back to my house but its changed; it looks like the inside of a SCAD building. I walk into the common area and see Zach, Jesse and Karli all laying together on an extra large sleeping pod. They are talking with the cute, tall girl from HK and when I walk up, I tell them all the story of the strays. They give me the usual “oh dude, that’s fucked up” replies then offer me a spot to lay with them in the pod. The brunette I didn’t know lays down with us, right across from me. We all start to doze off when I feel two soft hands loosely hold onto mine, and I know its this new girl. I pretend to be sleeping and not feel it but I feel sparks in every place that our skin touches. We all stir a few hours later, groggy and confused. Her hands are still in mine, but I break our connection. I walk away from the group, pretending that none of it ever happened. I don’t know her, and I don’t want to get hurt.”
