Being an Australian girl born and raised, and one who lives in Sydney, you can imagine how happy I was when I was watching Free! and found out that Rin spent time in Australia (specifically Sydney I think?) The fact that the poor guy would have had to also sit through those stupid ass NAPLAN exams they make us do in primary school and high school makes me feel SEEN damnit.

I'm pretty sure the only country they even do it in is Australia, but I needed to get this thought out there. It's definitely something he would have had to do while living over here, and it just makes me happy that he would have had to deal with it as well. And if any there are other Aussies see this who are also a fan of Free! and had to sit through NAPLAN testing, I hope this realisation makes you smile or laugh too! 😁

Oh! And for the people who don't know what NAPLAN is,and you want to so you can maybe better understand what it is and why I (along with pretty much everyone who has ever had to do it) hate the damn thing so much, I'll break it down below for you! You don't have to read it, but it's there if you want to, it doesn't impact on what I said above, it just explains what it is and why most people hate it and/or think it's so dumb. ♥

NAPLAN testing is just a stupid series of tests kids in Australia have to sit through during their education. You only do it in your third, fifth, seventh, and ninth years of school (although if you fail it in your ninth year you have to retake it until you pass). It stands for National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy and like the name suggests it tests your literacy and numeracy skills and started back in 2008. As you may have noticed, I, along with a lot of other Australians, think it's dumb.

For starters, we aren't even graded on it. Sure we receive a pass or a fail, but it doesn't actually count towards the grades we receive in school or the results of any other exams we take. You sit the tests, the results come back, and it tells you whether or not your skills in that area are average, below, or above. A passing grade is just in the average margin or above average margin, but again it doesn't actually count towards anything and you don't have to retake it if you 'fail.' The only time you have to retake it is in your ninth year of school if you fail. You sit the tests you failed again in your tenth year and you retake it until you get into the average or above margins.

All in all it's pretty much considered a huge failure and a lot of schools in Australia are trying to circle it out of their curriculum. I think I heard a while back that most states don't do it anymore, but Queensland and New South Wales still do. People argue that it's more of a reflection of our teachers abilities to actually teach us, but again it's pretty much this huge failure.

It's taken by just about every kid in the country in the third, fifth, seventh, and ninth years of school. There are some exemptions but it's sat by a very large majority of students in those year levels. It costs about $100 million a year for everything that goes into it but it doesn't actually improve teaching standards, offer much insight, enhance educational resources, or boost the well-being of students and teachers. There's little to no educational value and the reliability of results is poor at best. Not to mention the fact that we receive the results a whole five months after the test itself.

The school year starts in late January and the test is done in May, so it's usually around October that we get the results. Considering the school year ends in mid-December, it's impossible to even consider let alone create a meaningful change that will assist students and their teachers in anyway shape or form before the end of the school year. Even though some argue that it's a reflection of a teacher's ability to educate, it actually indicates very little in regards to a teacher's quality and actually seems to encourage a poorer quality in teaching. It promotes a superficial kind of learning as opposed to one that focuses on encouraging creativity and cultivating complex knowledge and skills needed in the real world. Not to mention it doesn't demonstrate a kid's performance in sport, science, and the performing arts.

It just gives students a load of unnecessary stress and anxiety, not to mention that some of the kids who are taking it are as young as seven years old (and I'm one of those kids)! I managed to scrape a pass whenever I had to do a NAPLAN test but it still told me that my performance would affect my ability to succeed in school and in life. Most of only started realising how stupid and flawed it was in our seventh and ninth years of school, but by then we were already becoming accustomed to the ridiculous amount of pressure by our teachers to do well, otherwise we'd be seen as below average and dumb.

Yes, it is definitely important to see and measure how well students are performing and how well teachers are educating their students, but NAPLAN is in no way a reliable way to test these things. It's unreliable and skewed data, isn't a reflection of genuine ability, only tests a very narrow field of education, and delivers an enormous amount of pressure to children as young as seven years old.

Despite all these flaws and the absolute failure that is the NAPLAN exams, it's one if the few (if only) nationwide tests that Australian kids have to take. And again, this costs Australian taxpayers around $100 MILLION a year.

It's stupid, I hate it, we all hate it. Rin probably would have had to take it so yeah, that makes me happy to know that he probably had the same experience as me :)

🫧 He loves swimming with you though, he loves you almost as much as he loves water. You can’t ever keep up with him when he tries to race you, but he’s learned to slow down for you.

🫧 His favorite thing about you is the fact that you’re supportive of everything he does. Haru wants to practice? You’ll help him achieve a new personal best. He wants to go shopping? You’ll help him pick out the best outfits and swim suits.

🫧 He also loves to cook with you. You’re an amazing cook, so he really loves when you sleep over and get to cook breakfast for him. You know he loves mackerel, but you try to get him to eat real breakfast foods from time to time.

🫧 Speaking of which, since Haru lives alone, ever since he started dating you he’s come to hate being alone. He wants you to be there with him, so he invites you to sleep over often.

🫧 Believe it or not, he’s super touch starved, so he’s probably gonna want to be held while he sleeps the first few times you sleep together. He loves being the little spoon.

🫧 He does have the annoying habit of not locking the door though. Makoto will come to wake the two of you up and almost forgets about it upon seeing Haru snuggled into you, your arms wrapped around him tight.

🫧 Makoto is Haru’s number one cheerleader, he’s so happy for you two. He’s Haru’s best friend, so it makes him happy to have Makoto’s support.

Makoto Tachibana

🫧 Makoto is a soft, simple man, the pure definition of gentle giant.

🫧 He’s a romantic, he has the biggest heart you’ve ever seen. He wants to hold you, feed you, care for you, and protect you.

🫧 He’ll take you out for picnics, on coffee dates, even swim dates too once in a while. Beach dates are also common in the summer

🫧 Nagisa is pretty hyper and all over the place so buckle in for the ride

🫧 He loves to sneak off with you during lunch. Sometimes he’ll invite Rei, but where’s the fun in that?

🫧 Rei is often left third wheeling since Nagisa hates excluding him, but Rei never minds it because he loves you.

🫧“You and Nagisa are like night and day, so how did he manage to get you to fall in love with him?” He’ll always ask, but you’ll just shrug and give Nagisa a kiss on the cheek.

🫧 Nagisa loves inviting you to swim practice. You aren’t a member of the team, but he loves having you there to watch him show off compared to the other guys. Having you there motivates him to do his very best.

My Top 10 Fictional Guys' HC's

I didn’t know where or who to start with writing, sooo here’s my personal top boyos! Instead of giving my personal reasonings, I’m giving headcanons for each! This took me way too long to do. uvu Man there's gonna be one heck of a tag list pfff-

#1 Mirio Togata (My Hero Academia)

♡ When He Likes You: Mirio knew he’d like you, but he didn’t expect to like you this much. It’s kind of hard to tell that he does because he’s pretty friendly with everybody, but his friends notice that his smiles are a little bigger and he seems a little more excitable when you’re around, not to mention that hint of blush on his cheeks. He’ll use his quirk and act a little goofier than usual just to hear you laugh and see your smile. He even goes out of his way to spend what little free time he has with you because he enjoys being around you that much.

♡ Asking You Out: It happens on a random day almost out of nowhere. Mirio’s been thinking about asking you out for a couple days now trying to think of the best way to approach you about it without making you feel uncomfortable or forced to say yes. He really wants to make sure if you do say yes, it’s 100% your choice. But after all the thinking it just feels off for him not to be direct, so he just casually asks you one day when there’s a break in the conversation: “Hey, would you wanna go out sometime? Like on a date. You don’t have to say yes or answer right away if you wanna think about it, either way is fine with me. I just think you’re pretty cool.” When you say yes, he has the biggest smile on his face as he grabs your hand and tells you he’ll come up with the best date ever.

♡ If you’re ok with physical affection, this man has plenty to provide. Mirio will always interlock your fingers and hold your hand wherever you go. He gives the most AMAZINGLY warm hugs that make you feel like nothing could ever hurt you with him around. Forehead and head kisses are his way of showing his utmost affection for you especially when you’re cuddling together. If you happen to return said affections, he melts and returns it again ten fold. ♡ Whenever you’re feeling ill, in pain, or just feeling down in general, this man is on it. Need medicine? A heating pad? Good warm food? Comfort foods and soft warm blankets? Just ask and he’ll go get it or make it no question. Even when you’re sick he’ll hold you and make sure you’re able to fall asleep. He’s very attentive and wants to make sure you’re feeling your best or as comfortable as possible. ♡ One of his favorite things to do is share food with you. There’s something sort of intimate about sharing food that really makes him feel like a couple with you. He also finds amusement in the way you eat, but also this gives him a chance to not only feed you food, but for you to feed him food as well. While he enjoys feeding each other in a classic couple-like fashion, sometimes you two will opt to be silly about it and make funny noises while you do it or straight up miss each other’s mouths on purpose.

#2 Kagami Taiga (Kuroko no Basket)

♡ When He Likes You: Kagami’s a complete dork around you. He’ll try to impress you with his basketball skills and occasionally it’ll work, but sometimes he’s so focused on looking cool that he doesn’t pay attention and ends up tripping over something or running into his teammates. When it comes to one on one interaction with you, he‘s pretty blunt about his curiosities about you since he’s too impatient to have any tact with a conversation. Despite his rough behavior with most people, he’ll be his own version of polite and respectful with you and keep his more fiery side in check when you’re around.

♡ Asking You Out: You’d think Kagami would just straight up ask you, and he does, but you have to ask him to repeat himself because he either stutters the whole question or says it too quietly to hear. At one point even he gets fed up with himself so he sighs and finally asks you clear as day. “Will you go out with me? On a date?” He chokes on air when you actually say yes and then cheers and punches the air in celebration. You also think you hear distant cheering somewhere you can't see that totally isn't his teammates.

♡ 3 Dating HC’s: 

♡ If anybody gets a little too friendly or flirty with you, Kagami steps in instantly glaring them down. He won’t even say anything, he’s just scary enough to send people running. God forbid anyone try to put their hands on you without your consent, he won’t hesitate to deck them and full on FIGHT. ♡ One of Kagami’s favorite activities to do with you is to cook together because he didn’t get many opportunities to do stuff like this with his own family. If you don’t know how to cook he’s happy to teach you and surprisingly patient with you (it really baffles his friends and people that know him, it’s like his hot headed side shuts off when interacting with you). He’s a little more iffy with baking, so if you know how to bake he’s eager to learn. If neither of you know how to bake, it’ll probably be a bit of a hilarious disaster that's still fun for you two. ♡ When you guys sleep in bed together he likes to be the big spoon because you’re quite comfortable and the perfect hugging size for him. Even if you guys fall asleep separately somehow he’ll still end up wrapping around you in his sleep in some way.

#3 Sebastian (Stardew Valley)

♡ When He Likes You: You can hardly tell that Sebastian likes you since he’s a pretty closed off person, so it’s the subtle things that give him away. Despite his loner tendencies, he lets you hang around even when you stumble upon him having alone time. He’s not much for conversation, but he’ll genuinely ask you how your day was or how you’ve been, maybe even ask about farm life and your interests. But every now and then you’ll catch him off guard with something you say and he’ll let a smile slip or a small chuckle followed by a look of appreciation for your presence.

♡ Asking You Out: Sebastian wants to ask you out, but to be honest he doesn’t really know how so he’s been putting it off until one particular day. You two are exploring the mines together since you know your way around pretty well and he wants to see if he can get a Frozen Tear for himself. When you two finally find one, you get swarmed by frost bats. Sebastian grabs your hand and you two make a run for it. When you’re finally outside the cave, you two are laughing in disbelief and then there’s a pause before he suddenly asks you out. You say yes and he can’t hide the excitement on his face. “Cool. Maybe we could go see the city on my motorcycle some time.”

♡ 3 Dating HC’s: 

♡ Sebastian ends up getting pretty invested in your lifestyle so he tends to help out on his days off. He likes to tend to the animals (and slimes if you have them). If you need any mine resources he’s totally down to go with you and ends up being your cover from monsters while you mine. Any other activity that involves exploring or going to strange places, he’s your right-hand companion to make sure you come back safe and also feed his own wanderlust he didn’t quite know he had. ♡ After a long or particularly rough day the two of you go to the Spa together to relax in the hot spring. If your muscles are aching Sebastian doesn’t mind massaging them for you as long as you return the favor. On the occasion that you guys might get bored while sitting there, your relaxation will turn into a little splash fight. ♡ It catches you off guard at first, but Sebastian will sometimes suddenly express how grateful he is to have met you and how lucky he is to get to date you. He always felt like the odd one out in this town finding it hard to really connect with anybody and his life felt pretty stagnant, which is why he wanted to move to the city in the first place. But now that he’s met you, he’s grown a lot more optimistic about his future and he smiles a lot more than he used to. He never wants to take all that for granted so he makes sure to let you know that.

#4 Rin Matsuoka (Free!)

♡ When He Likes You: Rin doesn’t want you to know it so much he hardly wants to admit it to himself. He’ll act pretty irritable with you due to this, but if he sees he’s upsetting you with his attitude he’ll instantly drop it and try to cheer you up. As you get to know each other more though he starts to really open up and relax, even playfully teasing you and giving you sass to draw out a reaction from you.

♡ Asking You Out: Rin’s pretty troubled at first because he feels like asking you out would cause things to be awkward if you say no, but he can’t deny his feelings for you any longer. So he seeks you out one day looking rather irritated (as a tsundere does) and at first you think you’re in trouble for something. “Oi! I need to ask you something. Would you…go on a date with me? It’s fine if you say no, you can just forget I asked or whatever…” But you say yes and he’s shocked, but grins and has the gall to tease you about liking him back.

♡ 3 Dating HC’s: 

♡ First and foremost, Rin wants to swim with you. If you don’t know how to swim, he’ll definitely teach you. But if you’re not too keen on learning how, he’s ok with just spending time in the water with you. He’ll even push you around on a floatie or hold you and slowly pull you around. If you’re on a floatie he loves diving and jumping out at you like a shark. ♡ Despite how active he is, one of his favorite things to do with you is chill at your place or his (or both if you guys live together). There’s nothing he likes more than to just lazily cuddle up on the couch or bed with you. If you like music, he’s all for laying there and sharing your music tastes or new songs you found with each other. If you wanna watch any shows or movies, he’s ready to attempt getting invested, although even if he’s not interested he’ll still hang around. If you guys are bored and have nothing else to do, he’ll suggest building a blanket fort and of course there will be snacks and drinks to be had in it for a job well done. ♡ Rin doesn’t outright admit it, but he likes when you play with his hair. He finds it relaxing to feel your fingertips on his scalp or your fingers run through his hair, so he tends to lay his head on you a lot to prompt you. He’ll even let you braid his hair or style it however you want.

#5 Aki Hayakawa (Chainsaw Man)

♡ When He Likes You: Aki can be hard to read sometimes, but his aloof nature cracks when it comes to you. He’s very protective of you and always wants to make sure you’re safe (and not bothered by people unworthy of your presence). You can hardly tell when he’s particularly happy or excited, but when you offer (or accept his offer) to hang out you manage to get a small blush and eager smile out of him. He's also the type to check himself in the mirror and straighten out his clothes before he goes to see you. He always wants to look his best around you.

♡ Asking You Out: Aki’s actually kind of nervous about it and has to hype himself up a bit to ask you. He’s an incredibly efficient workaholic and usually pretty good with keeping up basic self-care, but sometimes when he’s having a hard time he can falter in those aspects. If you happen to catch him when he’s emotionally vulnerable and comfort him with a hug or hand hold, he unravels pretty quick but that’s when he knows he’s truly found a treasure.

#6 Masato Hijirikawa (Uta no Prince-sama)

♡ When He Likes You: Masato’s caught off guard by his feelings for you and doesn’t know how to handle them, which can cause some jealous and protective outbursts at times. When he’s not guarding you though he’s very sweet and a total gentleman. However, his usually aloof personality breaks if you two make physical contact. If you try to hug him he’ll look like he’s ready to combust on the spot.

♡ Asking You Out: Even though he’s nervous, Masato wants to make the experience romantic. He’ll ask you to meet him somewhere private yet beautiful (like a botanical garden) and have flowers in hand when you come to meet him. As he presents them to you, he’s blushing with a determined look in his eyes. “Would you do me the pleasure of going on a date with me?” When you say yes he smiles affectionately and gently takes your hands, bowing until his forehead meets them. “Thank you. ♡ Physical affection isn’t Masato’s strong suit so he doesn’t dish it out often, but that makes his displays that much more meaningful. #7 Zen/Hyun Ryu (Mystic Messenger)

♡ When He Likes You: Zen flirts with you. Constantly and with zero shame at all times, there’s no way you don’t know he’s into you. At first it might seem like a shallow attraction, but once he really starts to get to know you he’ll start to point out things he really likes about you like little habits he finds cute or your laugh or how excited you get when you talk about your interests. He’s positively smitten with you but he will respect your boundaries if you tell him he’s overdoing it.

♡ Asking You Out: Technically Zen’s already asked you a handful of times, but you never took them seriously and brushed it off as playful flirting. ♡ Zen wants to show you off to everybody and will gush over you to anybody who will listen to an embarrassing (and perhaps exhausting for others) extent. Anybody that tries to flirt with him is immediately shut down with your picture in their face and how lucky he is to have you. That one Will Smith meme where he’s got his hands out presenting his wife (or whatever, idk his life lol), that’s Zen. He couldn’t be more proud of having you as his significant other. In his eyes there couldn’t be a better couple than you two. ♡ He loves going out with you and spoiling you wherever you two go, but his favorite thing is when you two go out at night. Seeing all the city lights or just seeing the starry sky takes him back to one of his favorite moments with you that he’ll always cherish. ♡ When He Likes You: You catch Brett’s curiosity right away and he’ll chat you up to try to find out all about you. This might be an issue if you’re not much of a talker, to which he might have to ask Reagan for advice with getting closer with you. Once you two are fairly acquainted he’ll definitely want to hang out more and will always check in with you to make sure you’re doing ok. Eventually you’ll start to notice that his usually smooth conversation skills start to fail him when talking to you and he’ll start to stutter and stumble over his words if he’s not already blurting out embarrassing things by accident.

♡ Asking You Out: Brett is a wRECK. He usually isn’t this nervous about dates, but he’s never liked someone this much before and he doesn’t want to mess this up. It doesn’t help that he gets flustered around you. He even asks his co-workers/buddies for help and advice, but their suggestions were pretty intense and some not all that legal. So he settles for the old fashioned way of just asking you. Brett tries to approach you smoothly, but ends up tripping and falling. After you try not to laugh and help him up, he tries to drum up some small talk and compliment something normal about you, but it’s kind of awkward. So he takes a deep breath and just goes for it, closing his eyes afterwards to brace for the answer. And you say yes. “Wha- Really? Oh wow, uh, thank you? No Brett that’s stupid…um, I mean, great! Is there anything you want to do or anywhere you wanna go? I’m down for anything!”

♡ Brett’s kind of a rom-com guy, so in kind he does a lot of very cheesy and cliché things except he tends to mess them up. Setting up a romantic candlelit dinner? He tries to cover it up by looking even meaner than usual but his friends know better and tease him endlessly about it. He’s pretty bashful around you and has a hard time making eye contact. If you’re receptive to him, he’ll gift you handmade keychains and plushies of your favorite animals or things you’re interested in. If you’re still wary of him, he’ll try his best not to seem so imposing around you by lowering himself if he’s taller than you, keeping his hands in his pockets, and practicing smiling more though that part might backfire from how much he forces it.

♡ Asking You Out: There were a couple failed attempts before he finally just goes for it. There’s not really much of a set up for it to be honest because his friends force the situation on him when they all plan a way to get you two alone. There’s a briefly awkward exchange between you two when he suddenly just blurts out asking if you would go on a date with him followed up by an apology. “I know I’m not as good looking as some other guys and I don’t exactly look like someone you wanna take home to your parents ya know, so I get it if you say no. No hard feelings or nothin.” So he’s taken aback to say the least when he hears you say yes. ♡ Kanji really loosens up after you two start dating and lets his more dorky side come out since you make him comfortable to be himself. He scowls a lot less and tends to smile more genuinely especially when you’re around. Make no mistake though, even though he’s friendlier he’s still willing to intimidate and throw hands if anybody tries to mess with you. ♡ You tried on Kanji’s clothes once for the sake of impersonating him as a joke, but it turns out he was really into it. He thought it was really cute. So he doesn’t mind if you steal any of his clothes for pajamas and will offer his jacket to you if he sees you shiver even the tiniest bit. ♡ When you guys are having a more chill day inside sometimes you two pick out crafts to try together. Kanji is pretty handy with sewing so he has no problem learning or leading the way with crafts around that department if you’re not knowledgeable of them. Haru:

After a whole day together at the pool with his crush, Haru is over the moon. Not that he shows because 😐

"Thank you, Haru... I had fun today" and chuik!💋

He is awful at handling affection.

So the exact second your lips come in contact with his skin, he freezes.

He has no idea what to do. Don't get him wrong, he likes it, given this is his crush we're talking about. But my god, he's stupid.

He malfunctions.

Which could give you the wrong idea, so probably he will panic when he sees you all discouraged.

You're leaving but... NO, he doesn't want you to leave!

So he has to be quick, and call your name... A bit louder than he intended.

"I... I liked it too..."

His face says it all, the shy pouty face he does when he's embarrassed and his cheeks just a nice shade of pink.

It's impossible not to smile at that.

"We should do it more often" and he gets another kiss. And these times, he returns the gesture.

"Yeah... we should" and he finally lets you see that lovely smile of his.

Makoto is really shy, he's friendly and lovely, but he has no idea how to approach his crush.

You hang out as friends and everyone (for argument’s sake I'll say you're part of the swimmer group of friends, whether as a swimmer or like Kisumi) can tell you both like each other but the two of you.

To the point where they ditch you both, so you spend a day together as an unexpected date of sorts. Like in a festival or something, and you're both left to be together-

He is really nervous at first, especially if he is made aware what's going on:

"Nagisa: We're not arriving, Mako-chan, enjoy your date lol"

He starts off very stiff and awkward because he likes you a lot and why are you so beautiful and why are his hands sweating-

But again, one of the things he likes about you is that you're friends, and you make him laugh.

So it doesn't take long for him to honestly just have a good time.

You guys laugh and joke and spend all your designed money on games and snacks.

It's a lot of fun, but Makoto is really swooning.

So by the end of the night, you stand on your tip-toes to what he assumes it's a hug.

But he just feels the light flutter along with a soft chuik! 💋

He can't stop his heart from racing. His face is red, his palms sweaty, knees weak, arms heavy, mom's spaghetti. He is absolutely flustered.

But unlike Haru, you can tell in his eyes that went to heaven. He even does the tilt head smile.

It's not official until a while after, but dates likes this became a common thing immediately.

Rin:

Oh my god, he's so CUTE

He invites you over to a competition, and he does great, as usual.

And to celebrate, you all go to a karaoke. Which Rin's canonically awful at, LOL

But anyway, Sousuke and Haru pressure him into signing in front of everyone.

Which he does.

And it sucks.

Look, before an angry crowd comes to get me, I don't think he's a bad singer, at all. He probably just gets nervous and mumbly.

But the song ends and everyone is laughing and teasing.

He does this pout bad boy thing he does when he's embarrassed, looking down, frowning, and turning his voice deeper to be scary.

"The mic's wrong... and I don't even know the song that well..."

So you take the chance to whisper in his ear, "I think you did great" and peck his cheek. 💋

He goes red in a second.

Of course, everyone else notices, obviously.

And he wouldn't be so embarrassed if you weren't laughing about it too.

And it's hilarious, he will be buried next Saturday-

I feel like he would be really upset that you beat him to it... But really happy to know you return his feelings, and he, being as competitive as he is, has determined that he will be the one asking you out on your next date.

Sousuke is a very chill person, he doesn't get shaken much by emotions, right?

Hahahaha. WRONG!

He's what 10 years of anime slang have led me to classify as a kuudere, like Haru and Ikuya... sort of. But better because (sorry Haru and Ikuya, but at least) he does express emotions, he's just generally calm and well-mannered.

He would even be a very good flirt, given how in control of his emotions he is. Like sure, he can take a smartsy comment and shoot one back, this verbal love battle is something he has on the bag.

I feel Sousuke would be especially flustered by casual PDA.

I feel like whether you're oblivious of his feelings or not, it's just funny and cute to see him all flustered when you're affectionate.

It's actually very endearing how eager he wants you to feel integrated to his life.

Headcannons to style five if their boxer s/o nearly died in the ring (TW):

Makoto:

Man was stressed! Once he saw you go down and not come back up, he was jumping out of his seat.

Being a guy who's usually quiet he was yelling at the top of his lungs to the ref, to your coach to do something.

Once the medics rushed into the ring, he was right next to you, eyes scanning your still body.

Your poor face was bloodied and swollen, black and blue covered almost every inch as he felt sick to his stomach.

Refused to leave your side as you were rushed to the ER and made sure you had the best care.

Held your hand the whole time you were in the hospital.

When you finally woke up, he peppered your face in kisses.

You took a hiatus from boxing after the incident and Makoto was grateful for it.

Haru:

He remained quiet as he watched the match. His eyes never leaving your form as you kept getting knocked down your blood splattering the boxing ring mat.

Once he saw you go down and not get back up, he leapt up and ran to your side of the ring pushing your manager to the side and climbing in.

your opponet was freaking out as they kicked you in the side of the neck and you just went down. The medics hurried since it could be a spinal injury at that point.

He remained at your side while you were through physical therapy and surgery after surgery to correct the damange done.

Helped you do basic tasks while you recovered and made sure you were comfortable.

He knew you wanted to go back to the ring, but flashbacks to you laying unmoving in the ring flashed through his mind.

You both talked about it and you decided to take a little break from boxing to focus on yourself and Haru's relationship.

Haru made sure to hold you closer every night after that, still frightened about what happened with you.

Rin:

When he saw you go down hard and not come back up, he was scared as he ran up to your manager demanding answers.

He saw your bruised and battered body unmoving in the ring as tears sprang to his eyes. Seeing you like this was terrifying, the thought of losing you like this.

He held your cold, limp hand in his all the way to the hospital, kissing it and muttering to you to wake up.

Due to the damange, you were in a coma, seeing you hooked to all of those machines got to Rin. He hated seeing you like this.

Rin talked to you every day while you were in your coma. Telling you about what was happening with your guys' friends, how your parents were doing, what they brought you and all the things you two would do when you woke up.

After three week, you finally woke up from your coma and had to go through various tests and therapy which he was there with you through it all.

When Rin brough you home he made sure to take care of you since you were still recovering. He was clingy for good reasons.

After talking to Rin you decided to take a long break from boxing after you incident and he was grateful for it.

Rei:

He never worried about you in the ring, he knew something bad would have to happen and you were a great boxer, you were unmatched.

However, when you went down and didn't get bakc up, his heart sank as he rushed to the side of the ring as he saw the medics surrounding you and load your unmoving body on a gurney.

He was with you in the ambulance, his eyes scanning your body...he was afraid to touch you in case he made something worse and your condition was already bad to start.

He broke down once the doctor left saying he wasn't sure when you'd wake up due to the severity of your injuries.

Rei visited you in the hospital every day, he couldn't stay because he couldn't handle seeing you hooked up to everything for long, his stoic demenor would fall and he had to be strong.

When he got the call you were awake, he rushed to the hospital and his heart filled with relief as he saw you smile at him when you walked into the room.

He made sure that everything was in order and made sure you were taking the correct medicines and going to the right physical therapy appointments.

After a tearful talk when he brough you home, you decided to take a hiatus from boxing and recover and spend time with Rei.

Nagisa:

He was always worried about you when you boxed. He hated seeing you get bloddied and bruised or worse. He was always your biggest cheerleader though! Screaming at the top of his lungs for you to win.

When you got hit in the back and feel, but didn't get back up, he went silent as dread filled him before he rushed to the ring jumping in without a second thought. The medics held him back since it was a back/spinal injury.

Nagisa was a mess, crying and screaming for you to wake up and to open your eyes as you were taken away, him not far behind.

He went quiet as silent tears fell, his eyes never leaving your unmoving form. Stroking the back of your hand with his thumb he was hoping you'd wake up soon.

Refused to leave your side, the only time he did was to get new clothes for him and food, other than that he stayed by your side even after you woke up.

He was clingy and affectionate, holding you, kissing you and just being with you, which was fair considering he though he lost you.

When he brought you back home, he was making sure you were comfortable and showered you with affection.

He pleaded to you one night to take a break from boxing and you agreed wiping the tears from Nagisa's face.

“Nope, not a single one.” Nagisa’s eyes got big with shock. “Maybe you’re remembering someone else?”

“Rin- you seriously forgot?” Those eyes welled up, and Nagisa’s mouth turned downward with hurt. “I can’t believe this- all the good times and you just- you just…”

“Whoa, whoa- hold on now. Don’t cry.” Rin flapped his hands around in panic, feeling his own eyes burn. Curse his involuntary reaction of crying when other people cried! “I remember now! And…yeah, I guess I was a little ticklish.”

“Nagisa?” He asked, feeling suddenly nervous. 

Then the blonde looked up, dry eyed and grinning.

🫧 You’d probably argue about having mackerel for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so for your own sanity you decided to be the one who’d cook the meals.

🫧 Haru isn’t complaining, he thinks you’re an amazing cook

🫧 Every night he likes to break down his day with you, his head on your lap, the TV playing in the background. It helps him recharge his brain
