Natsuya is a gentleman(child).

He crushes on you every time he's with you. It's like highschool all over again.

He's very romantic. Will write you a love letter, and put his favorite picture of you two in it. Takes you to an amusement park and gets you cute plushies from the claw machines. (Not to mention how you two share a cotton candy, it’s so freaking cute >_<)

He's so soft with you. Always holding your hand. You're very playful with Natsuya, so when you boop his nose with yours he just gets so flustered and melts internally, even though he's a grown man.

Gifts you a mixtape with all the songs he dedicates to you. (And the songs that reminds him of you.) Man's is just smitten for you.

“Gosh.. why’d you have to be so cute” Natsuya mumbles under his breath as he watches you play an arcade game.

↘ If you add songs on Soundcloud, Spotify or Youtube, be sure that your boyfriend will take care of promoting them to friends and strangers. He is like a manager.

↘ Unlike others, I don’t think Natsuya is a music fan. He probably likes some old anime openings, but he doesn’t like music in general; he doesn’t know the difference between rap and trap, he doesn’t like pop, he definitely knows nothing about classical music and I don’t think he likes country and funky music either.

↘ But YOUR music is different. He always compares your songs to amber found on the beach, and other artists to ordinary broken shells on the sand. Sometimes you don’t understand his approach, but you know what he means and you appreciate it.

꠵ NOTES; these are established relationship headcanons, if anyone was wondering. as a struggling college student, i found comfort in these so i hope they help you too :)

# IKUYA

Ikuya loves spending time with you so he’ll do anything he can to be around you. In this instance, he heard how stressed you sounded on the phone over an upcoming exam and he was more than willing to keep you company while you studied.

He sat on your bed with study guide in hand, asking you the essay questions that caused you the most grief. He listened as you answered them each, just rambling a bit to make sure you understood each concept. As the words spilled past your lips, Ikuya couldn’t help the small smile that appeared on his face. Your voice was so melodic to him, no matter the subject you were talking about; especially when you spoke about a topic you were passionate about. There was just this glimmer in his eyes that read amorous.

When it came to you, Ikuya knew when it was time to stop. He noticed the way your eyes began to slowly flutter close while fighting to stay open, or the way your speech began to slur as exhaustion dripped in your voice. He gently closed your textbook and muttered, “C’mon, it’s late love. You need sleep,” and even if you protested, the words dissipated on your lips as Ikuya lead you to bed with him. The warmth of Ikuya’s hold lulled you into a peaceful sleep, with him sending you off with a kiss to your head.

# NATSUYA

Natsuya is a little shit when he offers his help. You knew to expect something from him when he took the textbook from your hands with a mischievous smile. All you could do was prepare for whatever he would ask for in return.

“A kiss for every right answer,” he proposed, which made you roll your eyes. “Isn’t is supposed to be for every wrong answer?” You asked, though his grin revealed the answer. He leaned forward and hooked his finger under your chin, “Yes, but I know you’ll get these all right, so where’s the fun in that?” You laughed at his answer, feeling the urge to roll your eyes again.

And he was right. You managed to answer every question correctly, even while under the teasing gaze of your boyfriend. His smirk soon turned into a soft upturn, just admiring you in the warm light of your desk lamp. He had no doubts that you’d do good at all, even if you did. But, that’s what Natsuya was there for: to quell your worries. He will always be your biggest supporter, just as you are for him.

Natsuya: (kissing your forehead and lifting you from your waist) Hahahaha, well if you insist!

(This guy is all games. He won't take your prank seriously, he'll probably see through it as he knows you very well, but rest assured, he's definitely showering you with return gifts once he gets the chance)

Sousuke: (doing grips in one hand and reading a book)

Y/n: (walks over to his wallet, giving him a glance before you take it)

Sousuke: (looks at you and smiles) Yo! G'morning

Y/n:(just nods, Picks his wallet and starts going through it)

Sousuke: (frowns, walks over to you and grabs his wallet) If you wanted money, you know you can just ask me? Now you're not getting it

Y/n:(looks at him, confused)

Sousuke:(sighs) What. Don't act surprised..

Y/n:(taking out a small penny and showing it to him) I had found this randomly under our bed...I thought it's yours so I wanted to keep it back in your wallet....

Y/n:huh?I don't keep pennies though...

Sousuke: (clenches it in your hand and smiles, walking back to the couch) it's a special one. I'm sure it's yours.

Y/n: (takes a closer look at the penny and notices a small dent in it) special huh...

Y/n: (scratches at the dent, and it opens up) aha! So there's something inside..

Y/n:(takes off the metallic cover it the penny, and inside is a small, beautiful picture of you. You stare at it in awe, taking in its creativity) This is....so pretty...

Sousuke: (smiles to himself) Aye.

(I need to stop turning these into fluff stories jkdsnjsajaf! Anyways, this man has everything planned out and WILL make your prank fail by being one step ahead iykwim)

Kisumi: (singing along to a song that's blasting in his headset, he looks very happy)

Y/n: (sneaks up behind him and takes his wallet with one hand and quickly hides it behind, while tickling him with the other to remove suspicion) (Writer:I DO NOT CONDONE STEALING DON'T DO THIS SHIT IRL) Kissss-me!

Kisumi:( quickly turning around and catching you into a deep kiss, without warning)

Y/n:MMPHH!!

Kisumi: hehehe, so y/n~ what's the occasion?

Y/n:(trying to get yourself together) occasion?

Kisumi:(laughing and wrapping his arms around you, then quickly snatching back his wallet to your surprise)

Y/n:h-how did you-?

Kisumi: (narrowing his eyes) You didn't think I'd notice? Hehehe sneaky little one aren't you? (Comes close to your face) you do know that 'stealing' is bad manners, don't you? Unless you have a good reason to take my money like this, I'm not letting you off~

Hiyori: (Reading a book and laying in his bed)

Y/n: (walks into his room, over to his desk) Hiyoriii~

Hiyori: (smiles, looking at you) Y/n~

Y/n: I'm ordering dinner today!

Hiyori: oh... Don't we have food at home though?

Y/n: yeah but, I wanna eat something from outside

Hiyori :(smiles) okok, but don't buy something expensive. I'm fine with your normal take-out.

Y/n: (takes his wallet from the desk and opens it)

Hiyori: (looks at you confused) y/n...?

Y/n: Hmmm?(takes out a few bills)

Hiyori: y/n.. Don't take money from my wallet without asking like that....

Y/n: oh...

Hiyori: (walks over to you and puts his hand out, expecting you to give him back his wallet)

Y/n:(takes out your own wallet and replaces his money with a few of your own bills) here

Hiyori: what was that for?

Y/n: I didn't have spare change, just heavy notes so I wanted to exchange-

Hiyori: oh... That's it?

Y/n: yeah...

Hiyori: (looks at his wallet, doesn't say anything, smiles at you and ruffles your hair, going back to his bed) kay.

Y/n: sooo I'll order?

Hiyori: no. You still took my wallet without permission so you're not eating outside food.

Hiyori: Shut

(yeah he's not going to let you off so easily. You're going to face his sassy side for the next couple of days, though, he'll still be the sweet, cutie pie he is)

(cracks knuckles, ~YES! BEST FOR THE LAST~)

Ikuya: (in the kitchen, frustrated a little and scrolling through his phone) hmmmm.... We're so out of groceries....tsk..I might need to go shopping again...

Ikuya: (opens his wallet and sets a few bills aside) I'll use these for now. The rest I'll use for buying that ice cream I wanted...I haven't bought my usual snacks in a long time...I miss eating freely...

Y/n: (scurries at Ikuya from behind and hugs him tightly) Ikuuuuuu~<3

Ikuya: (kissing your forehead) y/n! Good timing!

Y/n: hm? Oh~(reaches for his wallet and takes out a couple of bills)

Y/n:(kisses his cheek, but he doesn't react) Thank you Ikuu! I'll be right back~(runs off outside)

Ikuya:... Y/n didn't even ask before taking the money... Am I being too lenient? Should I say that I really didn't like what happened.. How much did-...? (Ikuya checks his wallet to find only 200¥remaining out of his 1500¥, he gasps, getting even more upset) Y/n! Come here!

Y/n:(comes back with a box and secretly hiding his money in your pocket) yess??

Ikuya: How much did you take??

Y/n: oh do the math hehehe

Ikuya: (sighs) I don't like this y/n... You didn't even have the basic decency of asking for permission before touching my wallet. You're my partner... But... Can't you give me some respect? Not only that... But you took a good amount from my wallet.... Did you ask if you could borrow money? What if I had really needed it? Have you been doing this for a while now? Is that why you're so comfortable with doing it?

Y/n:(yeah he's going to make you question why you pulled this prank on him) I....

Ikuya: Did you give it to the delivery person? Where's my money right now?

Y/n:(quickly takes out his money and hands it back)....sorry..

Ikuya: (shaking his head and counting) Sorry doesn't cut it y/n...I needed this for groceries too... We would've gone hungry otherwise..

Y/n:(trying to hug him, but he's not having it) Ikuya... It was a prank

Ikuya: (looks at you, confused) prank?

Y/n: yes- This box is actually empty...I was going to continue it, but...I couldn't upset you more

Ikuya: (dumbfounded) so... You weren't taking money from me?

Y/n:(shaking your head) no dummy...I would never do something like that! You know me well don't you?

Ikuya: oh... So I overreacted...

Y/n: no no! Leave it , I'm so sorry I didn't know you'd react like this I should've been a little more careful

Ikuya: (looks at you sadly) ok...

Y/n:(hugging him tightly and peppering his face with kisses) I love you... Forget about this ok? I'm sorry for pranking you like that..

Ikuya: (doesn't react much, just embraces you back) hmm...

(you two sit there for at least the next twenty or so minutes. Though, you quickly manage to make it up to him by treating him to his favourite snacks and ice cream, he was definitely cheered up by the end of the day)

𝑆𝑦𝑛𝑜𝑝𝑠𝑖𝑠: The Reader and her boyfriend Natsuya wears matching Pj's and spend time together out of the house.

Both Natsuya and [Name] got dressed in their matching Christmas Pj's. It was a gift from Natsuya's friend and your brother; Nao. Tonight they wanted to head out to the Christmas-New Years party happening before Midnight and head out with Rin at a food restaurant. "Angel, are you almost done?" He said from downstairs. You on the other hand was doing your hair for the occasion that Rin would be at, she had never met him but was so glad that she would finally meet one of his friends from his journey. She finally came downstairs, having her hair in a braided bun with two medium hair strands in her face. Now she was really ready since her jacket, scarf, gloves and boots. "Sorry for taking so long!" She said to him.

- 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 -

Rin waited for the countdown to begin just like the others at the shrine as he notices Natsuya and a person he never met before at all, walking in the loud and crunchy snow on the ground. She had beautiful long gray hair that was in a braided bun and shiny lime green eyes.

"Took you long enough." The maroon guy said a bit inpatient.

"Sorry about that. My girlfriend was busy getting ready." His girl then waved at the guy named Rin, saying hi to him nervously. The three stood with each other, waiting for the countdown to begin. As that happened mostly everyone went to the bright yellow and red stand, grabbing a good luck charm called an Omamori. Inside of them, it had either a prayer or a sacred inscription in tiny colorful pouches. Everyone came back just in time for the countdown, and everyone said together,

"3... 2.... 1... Happy New Years!" The fireworks went up in the sky like a gun and cheers were in the air as everyone watched the fireworks show inside the shrine that night. [Name] then gave a kiss to her boyfriend as she said to him, "Happy New Years, Natsu..."

"Happy New Years, My sweet Angel."

-𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐓 -

Natsuya, [Name] and Rin sat at a table inside of the restaurant as they shared some laughs and giggles. "Tonight was fun!" Said your brown haired boyfriend before drinking his beer. A sigh escaped your lips, worried that he would over-drink once again. "[Name], wasn't it? What do you do?" Rin asked her. She has a finger on her chin, trying to explain how to say it. "Well, I am a Apparel Designer and Beauty Pageant Entrant." "So you were that one in the magazine?!" He asked her. The woman nodded at his response happy, excited that he looks at her ad photos in the magazines or news photos.

"I-I wouldn't say I do."

"You know, Rin... I find you very interesting. Back then, I used to have a passion for swimming... But one day, I found out that my cousin committed suicide from some constant bullying in school. I was so devastated that she was gone, which is why I gave up on that." She said after chewing her food thoroughly. Rin nodded his head and ate some of his food, they talked for a bit longer than usual.

But when [Name] turned to hee boyfriend after drinking her apple juice, she seen him knocked out from the amount of beer he drank. "You are such a liar, Natsu..."

"Well, I guess we'll meet again soon. See ya!" She smiled at Rin and Natsuya waves at him drunkenly and dozing off. The maroon boy then waved at them, heading to his home.

Nao has gotten super busy with his schedules for university and his part time job, so you talked about your insecurities to his bestfriend, Natsuya.

Another day of waking up in the bed alone. You sighed. Ever since Nao was accepted to his new part time job nearby your shared apartment, he got extremely busy.

Always leaving you alone at home, rarely walking or driving you to your university. Seldom eating breakfast and dinner with you, only returning home after you've slept.

As days turned to weeks, slowly became months, you felt distant and unsure whether he still loves you or not. After contemplating your options, you decided to contact his and your close friend, Natsuya.

He agreed to meet up with you at Asahi's sister's cafe for dinner. Upon meeting you, he knew he's gonna end up being the meditator of the relationship. The moment you started ranting out to him, he listened intently.

Natsuya couldn't help but ask, "Do you really doubt Nao? He's a keeper, although he's busy and may forget his promises, doesn't he always get back with double or triple of what you want?"

That made you quiet. You thought back whenever you spend your time with Nao. The grey haired man had always gotten what you always wanted, be it cheap or pricey. Sometimes even the things you're not really that interested in.

He neither does it to please and keep you entertained. He does it out of love and appreciation, and you? Maybe you're just taking him for granted.

You looked down to your lap, mixed feelings build up in your heart,

"Then... What should I do?"

After listening to Natsuya's advices, you went out to the grocery store to get the ingredients on the next day. As you were walking your way to your car, you ran into Ikuya and Hiyori.

"(y/n), you're out buying groceries?" Ikuya asked, looking at your full hands.

You nodded and grin, "I'm making a special dinner for Nao! He's been working super hard lately, so I guess I should prepare something great for him."

Hiyori could see your hands trembling, it was going to be about a five minute walk to your car as it was crowded on that day. He pointed to the bags in your hands, "Would you like some help?"

The two boys helped you carry the items to your car. As they were about to leave, you asked them, "Are you guys heading back to the campus?"

"Yeah, we have projects and assignments to complete." Ikuya shrugged. You could see how tired the young man is.

Swimming about 5 times a week, it was hard. You recalled observing how your brother would occasionally complain about back and shoulder pain from swimming. Especially when he first started swimming back when he was a first year in high school.

You gave the young men a smile and offered them a ride. They agreed and gave you their thanks. After sending them off to their dorms, you decided to stop for a short while to give Nao a call.

"Hello, (y/n)? Is there anything you need?" Nao asked, concern spotted in his tone.

You smiled upon hearing his voice, before you could ask him, you heard a woman's voice, "Nao-kun, who's that?"

"Ah, my girlfriend. Please give me a moment to talk to her," The man said politely.

Despite the stern tone in his voice when talking to the unknown woman, you felt jealousy and sadness in your heart. Nevertheless, you asked him anyway, "What time will you be home? I'm making dinner today."

"Ah, don't worry about dinner, I'm eating out with Makoto and his friends."

You bit on your bottom lip, but answered him anyway, "Okay then. I'll see you at home. Stay safe, Nao. Tell Makoto and his friends I said Hello."

Before Nao could answer, you had already hang up. On his side, he sighed. He could hear sadness in your voice. He already felt bad for not spending time with you the past few months. He turned to look at his female colleague, "Well then, I'll make my leave now. Thank you for the suggestion today."

At Asahi's sister's cafe, his juniors had the look of concern on their faces. Makoto was the first one to ask Nao, "Senpai, did Ikuya tell you anything about (y/n)?"

That caught the grey head's attention, "What about her?"

"Ikuya and Toono ran into her earlier at the grocery store. She sent them back to their dorms too. Ikuya said that she looks tired lately and that she had been planning something for you."

Asahi's sister, Akane came by to serve their drinks. She then said to Nao, "She came here with Natsuya-kun a few days ago. It seems that she was troubled with your relationship with her. Did something happen between the two of you?"

Nao finally understood. Without any hesitation, he turned to his juniors, "Sorry guys, let's eat dinner next week."

He also gave Akane an apologetic look, "I apologize, can you cancel my order? I'll come by again with (y/n) next time."

"No, no. It's fine. Go fix your relationship with her. Now shoo." Akane shooed him away.

Back home, you were on the phone with your little brother, Rei. You weren't the person who would cry on every single ping of jealousy. You'd talk to him for comfort instead,

"Rei, what do you think? I feel uncomfortable that he's with another woman."

"Ehh... I'm no expert in love, but the best way is to talk to Serizawa-san. It may be hard, but you know it yourself, nee-san. Truth hurts, but it's better than getting lied."

He had a point there. He was right, in fact, you were the one who encouraged him to try out with the swim club in his school. Rei called you with pure excitement and bragged that he could finally swim all four strokes.

With the feeling of affirmation, you nodded, "Yeah, I'll give it a try. Thank you, Rei. I'll see you soon."

"Right, I'll let you know when I've reach Tokyo."

After hanging up, you released a deep sigh. You buried your head into your pillow and decided to have a good nap to ease your mind.

About an hour later, you were woken up by the wonderful aroma of your favorite spicy curry. You rubbed your drowsy eyes and walked out from your room to the kitchen. You saw Nao peacefully cooking.

You pouted, thinking that your plan to cook for him failed. Once again, you depended on him. You quietly sat on the dining table, watching him with a small smile. Even though you felt jealous, you still feel endless love for the man.

You dragged your feet towards him and wrapped your arms around his waist, "Nao~ Why did you cook? I was planning to make dinner today!" You whined and hid your face into his broad back.

You felt the vibration of his back from his chuckle, "You were jealous aren't you?"

"Eh? No~ I'm not! What makes you think so?"

"Makoto told me about it. You were at Akane's restaurant with Natsuya weren't you?" Nao inquired calmly. "Well, when I found out about that, I supposed I was jealous that you went out for dinner with my best friend."

You looked up to him in surprise, 'He was jealous? But he didn't tell me who or where did he go with that woman!' You thought. You were about to say something when he turned off the stove and turned around, wrapping his arms around you. Nao then whispered in your ear,

"If you're so desperate to know about my love for you, how about I show it in bed?" His voice was low and he had a soft smirk on his face.

You felt your cheeks went red and you were speechless by his words. You were even caught off guard again when he planted a surprise kiss onto your lips.

" I'm trying out a new recipe! hopefully he'll like it, " you replied to which izumi sighs from the seat next to you.

" I can't believe you're making bento boxes for chiaki and you started this eversince anzu told you his stupid wish! get your head out of the clouds and confess instead of doing whatever you've been doing, " izumi scolded.

" cmon man, don't be harsh on them. I think it's cute, but yeah do what izumi says. he may be oblivious and just kind to you whenever you hand him the bento but it's best you don't trick your heart! " kaoru encourages, earning a glare from izumi.

" you say that as if you don't trick other girls' hearts- " izumi was interrupted when chiaki barges into the conversation.

" hey! it's break time, can't believe you guys kept talking when the teacher was still here, humph. guess that's what happens when you sit next to one another, " chiaki playfully pouts as you sigh at his cuteness.

" chiaki, you're gonna eat with ryuseitai today right? well I made this for you. let me know if it suits your taste- " you hand him the bento as izumi cut the conversation.

" meet them after school chiaki, they've got something to tell you, " you look at izumi shock and bewildered, is this what you called betrayal? kaoru can't help but giggle at your expression.

" I gotta go but yeah I'll see ya, y/n! thanks for the bento, " chiaki runs off as you glared at izumi.

" what's that about! I've got nothing to tell him wahh you're horrible! curse you and your pretty face, " you grumble.

" hey it can't be that bad hahaha, maybe telling him your feelings will help. thank your knight in shining armour! " kaoru laughs as the aura around you felt thicker.

" yeah, just tell him. get it done and over with, goodluck, " izumi smiles. a sarcastic one, it feels like one.

ironically, izumi at least told chiaki on your behalf where to meet. kaoru wishes you goodluck before wandering off to god knows where. standing like an idiot, near the school fountain. you can't help but feel a sense of falseness. what if chiaki forgets the meeting and this is what being played tastes like.

" y/n!! I'm here, sorry for being late! " chiaki shouts, snapping you out of your thoughts. you can't help but let the tears fall, when did the tears even well up.

" gah! don't cry, " chiaki comforts, pulling you into a hug.

" I can't help it... I thought you stood me up, and everyone was toying with me! " you cry out as chiaki rubs small circles around your back.

" I'm sorry, really. if it makes you feel better, let's go out for ice cream! " he cheers, ready to pull you out of the school.

" n-no... it's not like that, I wanna tell you how I feel, " you say as he stops and sits down on the fountain, patting the spot next to him as you follow suit.

" I love you alot, hurry up and reject me so we can continue on with our days, " you rushed out your words as he stares at you dumbfounded.

" but I love you too, the bento you make. those were delicious! I dont love you just for your cooking, everything about you is lovable. you're kind, sweet and gentle. I can't help but smile whenever someone mentions your name. you're a wonderful person! " hearing him say all that, you can't help but flush red and cry even more. how can a sweet guy like him even exists. chiaki panics upon seeing you cry more.

" i-i love you, really, " he finishes as you attempt to calm down.

" I love you too, " you smile.

kaoru and izumi were hidden somewhere close, hearing the conversation. izumi can't help but sigh over you crying waterfalls, kaoru smiling at the newborn young love. they're happy for their dear friend nonetheless.

➳ notes: i don’t know where i got this idea from, it popped into my head and i looked at the list of characters i write for and thought that this worked the best for the free! cast. also, i can’t imagine any of them NOT crying?? maybe to varying degrees, but they’d all shed a tear or a thousand

but survived well enough

he can’t give a speech at the reception though

he’s hopeless

hides his face in the paper he wrote his speech on and got it wet ._.

the rest of that sentence was a blur because he just dove in to kiss you

probably cried about the wedding for the rest of the week

after the vows and everything he was fine though

that night when you went to bed he wasn’t

ikuya is an emotionally troubled man

and it fucking shows

he’s literally never felt like crying more

natsuya and hiyori bullied him for it FOR SURE

which made him super embarrassed

and probably made him cry harder-

the first time he saw you, he tried suppressing it

failed

tried to get through his vows without crying or fucking it up

failed

tried to regain his composure for the speeches during the reception

failed.
