Okay, I will answer this one more clearly and then I'm going to remove you from the anon list.

Firstly, they did NOT treat me with respect and secondly, they did not tell me WHY they felt I was uncomfortable and did not give me enough proof so I can work on myself.

How can I work on making things more comfortable if I don't know what part is making things uncomfortable.

I treated the person like that because they made a judgement towards me that was clearly misconstrued from the topic they were approaching me about.

They said I was manipulating ppl and persuading them into not nothing children when I didn't say that at all.

They said I shouldn't have added a taglist and forced people to respond which I did not, everyone who commented, commented out of freedom and with their personal opinion.

You're not offering me information into how I'm being passive aggressive, you're just making the same comment but you're not giving me examples to try and change it so I'm less passive aggressive.

They disagreed me with me rudely and in an attacking way, if you want me to respond to you with kindness than treat me with kindness.

And do say it's a dirty strategy where I never asked for PHOTOS, I asked for people to quote a few sentences w/o any sources included so I can understand their point of view and work on my communication.

I've said what I stated, please block me and do not talk to me again.

just wanted to share that sierra was probably on the video of the making of carousel because she is a writer of the song.

Also idk, it's just my opinion, but maybe if we saw sierra as the retired musician, maybe it'd make more sense why she's involved a lot, just like if 5sos ever did some promo for take what you want. a lot of artists do that w/ other artist because it's a collaboration, both parts are involved

I agree. She did write for that song and it makes sense that behind the scenes footage would include people writing/working on the song that they helped write.

I interpreted the ask as “why is Luke’s girlfriend so involved with his band and his life.” And, to be fair, she is very involved. Anyone would agree to that.

But I respectfully disagree with your view that her being so involved in so many aspects of her partner’s band is due to her being a “retired musician.” They’re surrounded by experienced and reputable musicians/producers. If they were looking for a consult, they have plenty of options. And referring to her in your context of a “retired musician,” 5sos has never featured other writers or musicians they’ve worked with the way they’ve featured her.

I was speaking more generally. The ask was asking about codependency. Not just the making of carousel.

I disagree with anons who may think the asks are angry or "tell the author to practically change the story". Most expressed respectfully & aware they're not entitled to demand anything. Some put reminders that author shouldn't change even when they're uncomfortable or felt mislead by synopsis & only asked for warnings in the future.

Maybe I'm misinterpretating, but I felt underhand vibes from some asks that some interpreted other's dislikes to be hateful, may lead some to be fearful to express their dislikes. Critique isn't all bad & can be learned from as long as it isn't unhealthy. Negative reactions were directed at the context rather than author. We can all agree how talented the author is & well written works despite disliking context of the story.

i was ab to clarify ab that one b4 i saw your message !! ive already emphasized to one of my responses on how i willingly made another version because of how i feel like it’s a good decision. i really appreciated how those who expressed their opinions did it in a polite way and not in a way that’s intended to be insulting or hateful (as far as ik at least?) + they reminded me that in the end, it’s my story :DDD

i honestly dont know anymore on whether or not people see some of their messages as hateful, but i want to be clear w everyone that there’s no hateful nor angry messages here and it’s just people expressing their opinions/disappointment towards the context of the story (which is understandable) and not towards me.

and overall, i made another version for those who were looking forward to a diluc ending and a non-jeanluc content, so let’s continue moving forward and know that all is well by the end of the day :DDD

1. What drew your character to their LI and vice versa?

When you see this wholeass beautiful mans, with sunkissed skin and freckles, auburn curls dewy with sweat, arms flexed to just bang the shit out of a wrought iron bar, maybe a man will stop and stare for a bit and be a little jealous of the anvil. No, LOL (or at least not totally.) Fair to say that Mat was immediately attracted to Tomaj, but it was more the fact that he also seemed to have a love of his craft that Mat could pick up on from the get-go that made him take a chance on him and try to actually pursue him. I can't really speak for Tomaj of course but in my completely unbiased opinion Mat isn't too bad to look at either.

9. How open are they with their feelings?

He's very open! He has a bad habit of keeping his heart on his sleeve and being upfront with most everything that's not only going on in his mind but in his heart at any given moment. He wanted to get away from all of the white lies and politicking that comes from being a Courtier in Zarkany's highest non-Princely courts. The only way he was able to do that was with brutal honesty. And with Tomaj he eventually seeks to just explain and reason out why he may feel a certain way so as to allow Tomaj to understand him better, accepting him as well so that even if they disagree on something, they may be able to better agree to disagree and not have hard feelings as a result.

13. How do they react at being away from each other?

Badly lol. Once they're together Mat will miss Tomaj fiercely, and letters only will do so much to convey his want of their connection. He longs for the kind of up front and obvious shows of their affection for each other, so he definitely wants to bring Tomaj along on all of his little adventures. When that can't happen though, he does try to write as much as he can, as often as he can, until he can return to Tomaj. And then, well, Tomaj doesn't seem to be one to hide his feelings either :)

1. What drew your character to their LI and vice versa?

With Samir, initially, it was survival. They were a couple of kids on the streets of chalktown and together they actually stood to stand a chance at just living. Then, as they started growing older, that kind of same implicit and unshakable trust turned into curiosity and budding affection as they trusted each other in new and intimate ways. As they got older though, it was pretty obvious that on top of this unshakable bond between them, that puberty eventually hit them like Orc Himself and it was far easier to jump into a romantic relationship because of that. But for Erzsy, it's that he's been this shelter from the storm of their lives. That trust has been a constant and it's that knowledge that there's just no taking one from the other, just keeps her unable to move on and then later able to embrace the totality of just what they have. If fate wasn't real, how do they keep meeting and falling in love? With Ethan: big scary dramatic which means he's hot as HELL. lmao Given the circumstances that she first met him, it was ILL ADVISED but eventually getting to know him as being this very earnest and sensitive soul is definitely something that draws her to him past the initial rivalry of their positions. And then of course, his immediate passion kept her hooked especially with how much he hides it; so both his passion and the lengths he goes to hide it - so that it seems like only she gets to see it - both drew her to a relationship with him. I can't speak for the lads but, you know, booba (respectfully.)

9. How open are they with their feelings?

She's pretty open about her feelings, probably moreso to Samir than to Ethan if only because Samir will understand that even if she does not know where the feelings are coming from, or if they even last very long, in that moment she just has to get the feeling out and get over it so she can continue on. I feel as though Ethan would want to talk more about her emotions and why she's feeling a certain way, which might exasperate her when she exists very much in the moment; and once that moment is done she'll leave it behind. So even if she's open with her feelings, she doesn't linger on very emotional issues or her emotions for very long to consider them as significant to share all the time. She doesn't attribute a lot of weight to her emotions, even though her emotions can ramp up very quickly and very dramatically, but then those moments are over and she'll recover and move on so that more important things may happen.

13. How do they react at being away from each other?

She doesn't have much of a reaction to it. Further down the line, she'll miss them, of course, but she's very much an independent spirit. She is content, at the very least, alone for long stretches of time. Comfortable with herself, she doesn't necessarily rely so much on the bois, but she'll definitely miss them terribly before long, if only for the want to share what she experienced with. (But when they're with each other, she's very much starved for their attention at literally every moment LOL.)

this is only somewhat related i guess but i had a similar revelation about writing something original a while ago. i wrote some fanfiction online and i got really attached to the story, and at some point i realized the plot is far removed enough from the og source material that i could literally just change character names and make small tweaks and it could be just a regular book. currently working on editing/getting it published atm and it’s going well so!! :]

(also, while i agree that fanfic is not inherently made for serious critique/meaning and it shouldn’t be treated as such, i view writing fic almost the same as regular writing, just in a different context and working off another piece of media, and i’ve read a lot of fics that at leasts i consider to be genuinely good and well crafted. some of the most talented writers i know personally started out writing fanfic or *still* write it, so i don’t know if treating the entire concept of fanfic like it can’t be art at all is fair. but of course that’s just personal opinion!! i don’t think it matters much lmao but i just respectfully disagree w that part)

I hope that goes well! i know a lot of people dont like it when fanfics get published and i agree on most levels but ive read at least one (as a kid, so maybe im just remembering it as better than it was, but whatevr) where i was like the only thing about this that is somewhat similar to the source material is the character dynamics and obviously the names, like what are you doing just make it completely your own.. ok heres the thing. published r*ylo (or any star wars fanfic lol) is like garbage and trash and already overdone. but i would read, like, a published sasunaru fanfic. havent even seen/read naruto but i would read it. its just the literal nerve of publishing straight fanfiction. (the finnpoe one that people made fun of a few months ago also looked bad but everything star wars is kind of straight to me, and also bad) sorry if what you're writing is straight and especially if it's star wars but if it is do keep these words in mind.

anyways. i think it can be a useful tool in practicing writing (although there are some bad habits that are very prevalent in fanfiction) Also btw sorry the edible just hit so this migjt be less coherent. And ive read some that i enjoyed, some that were well written, etc, but its just. theres something to me that is just kind of . Self centered? and i say this as someone who has read fanfic recently like the vibes i get from the authors and myself as a reader. it's just like... Things You Like. its Stuff You Enjoy. its kind of like . its so self indulgent. (even if its like well it can be used to explore mature themes etc etc Listen on some level You Like It and its not because of its social commentary! or whatever.) Maybe i spoke too quickly on saying its "not art" but i. Well. Hm. i cannot vocalize this right now im sorry. Anyways. if u want to continue this conversation do not be afraid to dm me, these posts are just getting long and probably annoying and the edible did hit right in the middle so i didnt give it all of my best work. im like super high right now sorry bye

Just to add onto the darkstalker conversation (different anon) yeah artic absolutely deserved to die. And yeah I think Tui fucked up his arc terribly, like his treatment in book 10 was atrocious and while Darkstalker legends had it's truly interesting and good bits I feel like it just went "haha he's evil shut up" at the end and Clearsight saying "maybe it was something he hatched with" and the book not even remotely refuting that bullshit made me want to throw something. To me I think the horror of the attic situation was the way he did it though. I mean in front of everyone and espically in front of whiteout who still cared for him and who had just suffered some major trauma. Arctic absolutely had to go Darkstalker was in the right to kill him. But the way he did it was the worst possible way imaginable in front of his also traumatized sister and also a bunch of Nightwing children. Yeah dragons kill each other all the time. But forcing someone to disbowel themself against their will? That's gotta be traumatizing. Just my two cents, although again I agree with most of your points and you're free to have your own opinion! :) -💜

YOU. YOU GET IT. YOU GET WHAT I MEAN ABOUT TUI FUCKING DARKSTALKER UP. Because the BIGGEST issue that I have with him is that the way she wrote him in the Legends was perfect- EXCEPT for the fact that she attributed his problems to being 'born evil'. Which is very much complete and utter bullshit considering the fact that she shoved this baby dragon into a family that turned him into a ticking time bomb before having the NightWing queen gleefully turn him into a war-weapon that fed into his taught notion of 'the only person that will help me is myself and the only way out of my shitty situation is power'. And then in book 10 we have NO idea why he wants to be king so badly (other than haha he's evil and arrogant fuck you), not to mention the horrorshow that was the ending with him. Like I don't want to excuse his actions or w/ever, but he was literally done so dirty by everyone around him and we got no reason for why he was trying to conquer the other tribes to begin with. Like, murdering the IceWings? Terrible, but I can at least understand it. Conquering everyone else? That's a hatchling's pipe dream that really shouldn't have been used to make him the Big Bad. The fact that he's a war weapon turned loose made him enough of a threat imo, and a therapy/redemption arc that DIDN'T reset him would have fit him much better.

As for the Arctic thing- I understand where you're coming from, anon, but I'll have to respectfully disagree. Forcing Arctic to disembowl himself was probably the most fitting end to that motherfucker that could have been given. Because imo, Arctic was way worse than Darkstalker was simply for the fact that there are many more lives on his consciousness and much more suffering at his claws that we see in-book. He abandoned his tribe to chase the tail of a dragoness that he barely met, sparking a war between the two tribes that lasted over a thousand years and causing countless deaths in the meanwhile. He deprived the IceWings of their animus blood. He became a traitor twice over- once when he betrayed his own, then when he tried to sell his daughter (whom he altered with a spell to make her more 'palatable', may I add) off to the IceWings. He killed and maimed hundreds for his actions, then had the audacity to make his mate's life a living hell for a choice that he made. The first thing that his infant son read from his mind upon his hatching was hatred and contempt, which only grew more violent as he aged. He made their home a place of anger and vitrol. He caused countless deaths and violence because he was too damn selfish to suck it up and deal with the lot that life had given him. That fucking bastard is the cause of so much pain and played a big part in why Darkstalker became a walking weapon, he deserves to pay for his crimes

Honestly? If I were Darkstalker, I would have dragged his ass to the high court or w/ever so that the entire kingdom would know what he did. Then I would have forced him to feel every second of agony that all those he wronged experienced after his betrayal, chaining him down so that he would never be able to free himself or use his powers again. A simple disembowlment is a mercy compared to the punishment he deserved for making a ruin of two kingdoms.

- i actually liked drew. im so sorry to everyone who hates her but full offence, why. think about it this way ok, first of all drew became hc because silena died. silena was the traitor, the one who betrayed chb, yet after she died campers celebrated her as a hero? and then drew suddenly has to replace her and live up to idk that legacy she left behind,, when all of a sudden this girl named piper swoops in and takes her place. idk abt u but i wld be salty abt that too. not only that, but as an asian, the chances of drew having faced racism/bullying as a child is pretty high (she studies at brooklyn academy). which means that when she finds out shes a demigod, and arrives at chb where most of the campers are white (this is an assumption btw), she’d obviously be scared of being bullied for her skin color right?? so the first thing she wld do before the campers get to bully her is to bully them before they can do so. (sentence structure here is wack i apologize) ofc this might not even have happened, drew could have had a perfect childhood && was a b1tch for no reason, BUT EVEN THEN HER ROLE AS A BULLY WAS PRETTY VITAL BECAUSE THAT FURTHER SHOWED THE CONTRAST BETWEEN HER AND PIPER,, HIGHLIGHTING PIPER AS A HERO//GOOD CHARACTER,, AND THEREFORE MAKING READERS LIKE PIPER MORE. anyway stop hating on drew please. AND THEN GREEK DEMIGODS COME TO CJ AND ONE OF THEM BOMB IT UP?? octavian has been told all his life that greeks are scum and this dude called leo valdez attacks cj. sure it was an accident, but did octavian know that? no. so it was honestly justified that he was such a salty prick im just saying. also some of yall be hating on octavian for cutting a teddy bear open and thats the funniest shit ive ever heard i swear

- luke didnt go to elysium

- travis and connor stoll r way too underrated. the two have been head counselors of the hermes cabin since luke was revealed as a traitor, can u imagine the stress? luke, the person they probably looked up to as a brother, betrayed them. and they didnt even have time to process this when they were thrown the roles of being hcs. that would have been so stressful and i would probably have broken down if i were them. the stoll brothers taking turns to wake up at ungodly hours because a new camper is crying and homesick and terrified, the stoll brothers having to comfort and take care of new campers, having to deal with the amount of people in that cramped space because not enough campers are being claimed fast enough. having to resolve issues between campers in the hermes cabin all the time. the stolls arent just comedic relief, and we need to stop treating them as such

- sadie (tkc) was kinda annoying at first. i like her more now tho but i rmb not liking her for a phat while

- tkc and mcga need more love

- carter kane and jason grace arent boring. theyre just really sweet boys who are too good for this world and yes yes yes

- hazel and frank (especially frank) need to be hyped up more. i hardly ever see anything about them. also yall seem to forget that frank was literally made praetor and that even hecate admired hazel and was willing to fight beside her because of how powerful she was

- frazels age gap is kinda sketch but i still think theyre really cute

- nico definitely had trauma from going to tartarus on his own

- GROVER IS PERCYS BEST FRIEND

- annabeth isnt smarter than leo but neither is leo smarter than annabeth. ive seen a lot of discussions about who is smarter and heres my hot take on it: neither. theyre equally smart, just in different ways. leos a genius mathematically speaking. he has no issues solving math problems meant for people much, much older than him. annabeth on the otherhand, is great at strategies etc. she can make an army of 1000 more powerful than the enemy, even if theyre outnumbered. so in my opinion, both are equally as smart//u cant compare their intelligence, because their talents lie in two different areas.

- while i do agree rick riordan isnt a god and that hes bound to make mistakes,, AND that hes given us a lot of representation,, if the representation offends the people its sposed to represent, then theres a problem. im talking about piper as a poc and wearing feathers in her hair. im not a poc, so i cant speak for them on whether or not its wrong, because i dont know either. HOWEVER, i have seen multiple posts BY pocs talking about how they didnt really like rick’s representation of piper, and thats an issue. pocs have been and are still oppressed and discriminated against by many. as a white cis man, we cant really blame him for not knowing (tho he could have done a research,, asked some pocs,, idk), but by representing pocs in that manner, hes influencing impressionable kids/teens into thinking “oh pocs wear feathers in their hair all the time” etc, which isnt true. the pjo/hoo series is extremely successful, and kids who read the books will probably start forming inaccurate opinions on pocs. the amount of fan art that depicts piper with feathers in her hair dont help either. “but rick said so in the books, so its canon” yeah well rick isnt a god and he can get some things wrong at times. im not saying we should cancel him, im saying we should start educating ourselves and not spread false info like pocs wearing feathers in their hair all the time. also that snake song shit where she sang Summertime was just- yeah. bc heres the thing you can be racist, and still include minorities, but portray them in a racist way. And even then, ignorance isn't a thing to admire. Getting those facts wrong still has a major impact. It continues to perpetuate racist stereotypes.

- the fact that most of the strong female characters in the series refuse to be “girly”, and ngl i dont really like that. just because ure girly doesnt mean u cant be strong.

- piper would have been a great way for him to start making the strong characters act girlier, but instead he went with the “I’m not like other girls” trope which is quite obnoxious to hear constantly, and I don’t think it’s necessarily great for younger girls to read that idea growing up. the closest we've ever had to a strong female character who was also into "girly" things was Silena. when I was younger I admired Piper's "I'm not like other girls" thing, but then I got older and realized that the whole mentality of "not like other girls" is super obnoxious, and a little bit toxic

EXACTLY!! EXACTLY!!!!!!!!! this is so tremendously well put, it's exactly everything i've been saying & believe in and i can't thank you enough for reaching out, it's genuinely extremely reassuring to know there's someone out there who shares this point of view

the thing is no one would call themselves a fan of a movie they saw a poster/gif of & never actually watched or a fan of a musician they've seen a couple pictures of & never actually listened to but suddenly all logic goes out the window when faced with comic books! the reason i advocate so much for really actually engaging with comics as a legitimate medium is specifically because i want people to enjoy things, i'd love for them to find a book or a series or a character that's everything they've ever dreamed of in canon as i have. no fandom interpretation necessary, no ignoring the parts you don't like, just genuinely engaging with the text & finding something that feels like it's meant for you and you alone -- a possibility that exists solely & precisely because there are so many comics out there in the world. it's a wonderful thing to have as a hobby!

i personally consider comics one of the most accessible forms of media in the world -- readcomiconline is a godsend & it only requires an adblock to be absolutely perfectly safe on both desktop and mobile, not to mention it's got everything from the literal golden age of comics (stuff from the 1930s-40s that's not been collected anywhere or you'd have to spend $100000 to even breathe in the same room as!) to weekly releases.

and, speaking as someone who's completely broke as we speak & generally grew up poor, it's an astoundingly cheap hobby to have. free methods aside, if you happen to have a local comic shop or a convention or anything remotely similar then you're bound to find a whole bunch of comics for absolutely insane prices. i go to the london comic mart, which is a free entry event, every two months & come back with 30-50 individual issues for £10! hell, i do even make an effort to support what dc's putting out right now and generally stick with 2-3 monthly series from creators i sincerely love and a couple specials, which still comes to max £10-15/month. i can't think of any other hobby that's genuinely this affordable and this fun, i consider getting into comics to be one of the best thing that's ever happened to me

but all the same, i don't even believe people need to own any of this at all, they've just gotta read it to call themselves fans. it's the simplest thing in the world.

i meant to add that i'm not above that !! it's usually tagged but i'll admit i've done the same not sure how to word this but i'm just talking mostly abt fandom specific drama ppl fighting aggressively over stuff that's essentially silly and non-important or going after specific blogs for what they post any time i've vagued to defend my friends has obviously been that, a vague (and i try to keep it rare) but usually i'll want to talk to people and i have in the past but when ppl have you blocked in some cases and are coming from an aggressive or attacking position i think a right to defend yourself is one thing

stuff that grates on me is like "well that's a shit opinion fuck you and your entire life" over trying to understand anothers perspective i'll admit i've done the same when it comes to people i never plan on interacting with and when their point is very clear (though i'm still open to discussion!) i just think /srs vaguing mutuals in bad faith is bleh and that's a mindset i've carried over from my time spent on twt where brazen hostility was on the up and up if i disagree w a mutual sometimes over a person/topic w/e i'll reply to them and i have 100% had a more positive experience that way and it's the way i try (note Try) to operate and i really do appreciate ppl in turn taking me up on stuff respectfully!! some of my fave mutuals or even friends at the end of the day i have absolutely disagreed w/ in the past but bc of the way they go abt stuff i’m like hey. i actually appreciate you so much for that

a nightmare mode where you have to finish the main quest on a time limit. it is absurd that dai expects me to believe that i have all this time to do wartable missions that can take literal real life DAYS to finish and still thwart corypheus’ plans in time. bullshit

politics in general. my fav dao quest was the succession crisis plotline in orzammar/the landsmeet and wewh in dai

npcs i can talk to. even with generic dialogue like in dao. makes the world more alive

using the environment to your advantage. far fetched but i would love to be able to pull down boulders if were in the mountains or freeze water to get to places as a mage

home base customisation but the customisation choices you make actually. mean something. and do something. or at the very least give more companion dialogue/banter/approval change

laconic and ergonomic codexes. like. sorted by what kind of codex it is, etc etc but then you just get a brief summary of the codex and the option to read more about it so i dont spend eternity scrolling through cards looking for a specific codex entry. cool aesthetic dont get me wrong but real irritating to deal with. also. maybe. the pc making comments about the codex if you do read more about it? like a dalish elf saying “they got it all wrong” when reading a codex about dalish elves written by a human??? that would a) give character to the pc b) incentivise people to actually read the codex to see what was so wrong about it c) summarise the codex for people who want to learn the lore but dont want to spent the entire game reading text

maybe have the merchants in your home base close to crafting stations so you dont have to take a fucking hike if you miscounted the amount of elfroot you need?

bring back stat requirements for weapons and remove the class restriction for most shit. obviously a dagger would be better for a rogue than a longsword and a mage would do better with a staff than a sword and shield but its not about efficiency. its about the roleplay. its about the options. give me the option to make a mage with wildly inappropriate stat distribution

bring back sustained mode abilities

traps. bring back traps. bring back the option to stealth into an area, trap the fuck out of it, and go from there

have the three available classes in kind of a rock paper scissors scenario. warriors do real well against rogues who do real well against mages who do real well against warriors. so you can plan your party depending on who/what youll face AND how much their approval will change during the quest you take them on

a more threatening villain. the inquisitor thwarted every attempt made by corypheus in dai. he was not threatening at all

i liked the armour tinting. let me have armour tinting from the beginning

a kind of gear skin mechanic similar to ac:odyssey where you can change how the gear looks but keep the stats. so you can equip that higher level armour and keep the look and aesthetic of your old armour and you unlock the skins/looks of the armours you discover/make so you can be both powerful AND aesthetic

i enjoyed the nobility/underworld/arcane/etc knowledge in dai unlocking more dialogue options so maybe keep/expand on that but make it more accessible by side missions or companions or something that isnt the abysmal perk system in dai

i really dig the whole “leader of an army” thing dai was trying to go for. but you didnt actually. lead. anything. would be nice to have that option. command soldiers. send them places that affect further quests. would even use the wartable for its intended purpose. planning wars. battles. like. you get sent word that there are bandits harassing villagers. you can set up an ambush with your soldiers or confront them headon, and theres a new mini-location on the map like the manor you meet vivienne in where you can go deal with the bandits and depending on your choices, there are actually soldiers with you in a field, or traps in a narrow pass, or even in a city. id rather the wartable shit dont return but if they have to, at least this way youre not just waiting real life time for a bunch of text to appear

i am real fucking excited for the possibility that da4 companions can just fucking die on you. good shit. give me that angst

missions that certain companions would refuse to go with you to. you know. so you actually have to use other members of your party instead of the same 3 (three) people all the goddamn time
