4. Describe the setting of your wip

Basically it follows Earth history until the 1940s. Then, in the lead up to The Cold War, vampires all over the world started revealing themselves to world powers, offering up their powers for use in war, in exchange for power and recognition in human society. History continued to be exactly the same, just with more vampires in it, in positions of high power. There’s a resurgence of masquerade balls, Twilight was *very* in (post apoc vampire movies not so much). The most influential vampires participate in a sort of travel culture, where they split their time between the far northern and far southern hemispheres, following the winter to where the days are longest. Vampires are also involved in science, they have their own laws, their own police, politicians, etc. That’s all more world building stuff. The actual location of the novel is Melbourne (one of the southern hemisphere vampire coldspots)

7. What are you most proud of?

Lenore, tbh. She’s just such an interesting character, very different from characters I’ve made before. I’ve loved seeing how she grows as the novel changes.

15. Do you know your characters’ mbti personalities?

No, because i don’t really understand mbti. I did do temperament quizzes though, and that’s a silly but fun personality thing too. Lenore is 50/50 choleric and sanguine. Oscar is 50/50 sanguine and phlegmatic. Jude is 60/40 melancholic and phlegmatic. Remone is strongly choleric. I don’t know my other characters enough yet to judge them (I’ve introduced a lot of new characters since the last time I did in depth personality analysis. I should do that.)

wtw march madness - day 1: challenge 1-3

It's time to actually talk about ivan wip on tumblr huh

Challenge 1: Talk about your characters

The thieves;

Jehan → the pyromancer; A soldier-turned-thief after a moment of self-sacrifice caused him to burnout. He has no dreams of his own, only a desire to protect the people he took under his wing.

Ophelie → the aquamancer; the last survivor of the House of Courcillon. A noble lady whose fortunes fell and now turns to a life of crime. She dreams of restoring her house’s glory.

Giselle → the terramancer; A deserter with a loyal heart, a mind for numbers, and a long list of debts to pay. What she wants doesn’t matter when she has her siblings to look out for.

Claude → the aeromancer; An orphan who lived and breathed in the marrows of the Citadel de St. Remon. Thieving is all he’s ever known, but that is not where he wants his future to be.

The job;

Vasily → the nameless one; A boy whose face has been masked beneath an iron veil for decades. He claims to be a king, deposed and imprisoned far away from his homeland. He believes that if the thieves help him back home, then he will be restored to his rightful place on the throne.

Challenge 2: Plan out your characters’ relationship

→ All of the thieves are in that mid-found family phase where they’re close enough that they can place their lives in each other, but the emotional bonds aren’t entirely there yet.

→ While the majority of their decisions are made as a group, there is a subtle chain of command. Jehan is unequivocally their leader, their center, and the designated ‘big brother’ of the group. Ophelie is his second, with a shrewd mind and a silver tongue. Most of the time people think it’s the other way around because of how taciturn Jehan appears to be when compared to Ophelie’s more outwardly charismatic and talkative nature, but when Jehan speaks, the entire group listens.

→ Vasily is an outsider they (read: Jehan) reluctantly welcomed into the group. He is their client, their job, but it’s hard to remain impersonable when faced with Vasily’s endearing awkwardness and his zeal. But as much as Ophelie, Giselle, and Claude all find themselves becoming fast friends with Vasily, it doesn’t get rid of the underlying suspicion the entire group has for their mysterious client.

Challenge 3: Write a Character Study

Their kindling is wet. The assortment of twigs and semi-damp leaves sit in a depressed lump over by the entrance of the skull. A storm breeze slipped between their shelter’s tooth-gap entrance, blowing in the scent of rain and the unpleasant musk wet wood.

Ophelie shivers on the floor, curling up against the bone walls. Her knees are drawn up, one arm cradling the other, her stabilizing gem deactivated and tucked away revealing only a stump where her left forearm once was.

Claude passes her his cloak, and she accepts it without question, wrapping it tight around herself. “I could try and draw the water out,” she said. “Make it dryer. Easier to light.”

“It’s fine,” Giselle said from further within the skull. “I’m sure there’s something dry in here that we could burn. And even if we didn’t, the rain shouldn’t last too long. We don’t need a fire.”

As if to mock her, thunder began to rumble overhead. The rain fell harder.

Claude rolls his eyes. “You just had to say it.”

Jehan turns away from them, staring once more at their wet kindling. He approaches it, kneeling down to separate some of the kindling; one to light, the other for later fuel. When he finishes, he sits back on his heels, hands clenching and unclenching over the pile.

Fire used to come so easily to him.

“Jehan.” Ophelie shakes his head at him. “You don’t have to.”

He regards her for a moment, jaw clenched, fingers curling into fists.

Summoning fire used to require little more than a thought. As natural to his being as breathing.

Now, he was hesitating to light a pile of leaves.

“I can do it.”

“I know you can, but you don’t have to.”

“I can do it.”

Heat builds in his right arm, magic pushing through the half-destroyed vessels in his body. A prickling sensation runs down his arm— a sharp pain— burning-burning-scalding-heat—

Jehan rips his arm back from the kindling, cradling it close to his chest, breath coming in short pants.

The kindling is still wet.

Claude gave him a pitying look. “You’ll get it next time.”

After that the playlist is understandably a 70s hangover still, but give it three more years and it would be epic! The presenters are awkward and technical glitches interrupt some videos, but this is a great slice of Pop History!

Sorry that mod hasn't been active as of late, I have been kinda in a slum lately. I have no guarantee when I'll answer questions consistently but mod really appreciates that you guys still enjoy this blog.

I haven't been doing well irl as of late because of my long time depression (ongoing for +15ish years wild) and because of this I've been failing my studies a lot. As of late I'm finally getting a little help as of going to my very first official therapy session.

I said official because most of the time I've only gone to temples. My family has been believing that I've been possessed by evil spirits my whole life and its pretty annoying. Tho I'm also sure that this is something common with our religious believes so I don't fully blame them. I've been trying and begging them to bring me to one for the longest time and it's finally happening! I don't know if it will help this time but it's some progress I'm willing to take.

Also! I feel sorry somehow for not interacting much. I've been wishing to talk to some of you/mutuals to get stuff of my mind or just talk about silly stuff but because most of you are writers I'm too intimidated sadgfhj if only I was literate *fist clenching and sulking*

Reborn Rich episode 12 ✔️

Aaah, what an episode! I watched it a little late, but it got me so immersed. Okay, there’s just a few things I want to say, so let’s just start in order.

The scene in the hospital where the chairman first realizes something is wrong with his mind was heartbreaking, but what I saw in it was more than that. The great man Jin Yang Cheol who founded Soonyang and gave it his life, the thing he lives and breathes for. His dream that he held in his hands. Suddenly we see him as a withered, pitiful old man. It’s about feeling the power of life and how fragile humans are actually.

Next one is when he went to the board meeting. I saw the tears in Do Jun’s eyes when the chairman was smiling at him and clapping. That was probably one of the sincerest smiles Jin Yang Cheol has ever given anyone and it made me really feel how he has bonded with his grandson over the course of the show. What set it in stone for me was the elevator scene. In that moment, when Do Jun did literally wipe his piss off the floor to hide his shame, Do Jun was the only person in Jin Yang Cheol’s world that he felt really loved him and treated him like a grandfather, a family member, not just a wallet. I know that Jin Yang Cheol is not a warm man, he may not have been the best father or husband, but he is a good man in his own right. And he is a brilliant businessman. He gave everything to his wife and children that they needed. With all the money that had afforded to them, even if it wasn’t Soonyang, they could’ve built successful businesses of their own. We may try to excuse it with accepting money as their father’s affection, but we all know any grown man (and woman) should know better, especially with the education that you’ve been lucky to receive. They’re just greedy and blame that greed on their father.

As for the grandmother, Lee Pil Ok, I knew something was up with her when she revealed her cold side a couple of episodes ago, but I didn’t think she’d be the one attempting to kill her husband “for her children”. Since Yoon Ki isn’t her son, and Do Jun isn’t her grandson, she couldn’t bare lose the company and the money to the “other woman” as well. I think that’s her intentions behind it, even if she can’t comprehend it herself and blames it on her love for her children. We could say it’s both actually. Why do her children have to lose to this woman as well? She probably hated that thought so much it made her resent Jin Yang Cheol despite the things she’s gained from her marriage with him. She and her children were given everything, all they had to do is use it right. To think she’d to this to the person she’s spent her life with. The accident that she caused gave him something worse than death. As we saw, he risked his life to get rid of this state for two hours. We can deduct that he’d rather be dead than be in this helpless state and have to depend on people who want to take everything from you. The reason why he was so reluctant to give Soonyang to any of them was because none of them cared to know what Soonyang really means to him and appreciate the effort he’s put into it.

Speaking of characters, I like that they revealed more of Sung Jun’s genius. He’s actually someone I wish we had seen more of, because I really like him. He’s in a constant state of conflict (in my eyes), because on one hand he’d do anything to protect his father and doing the right thing by respecting his grandfather and not causing trouble. Why I think this is, is because, Sung Jun is smart enough to do what Do Jun did. Maybe not on the same scale, but if he was acting alone with himself as his only interest, I believe he could’ve taken the company from his father, easily. Why I think he doesn’t is because he more than anyone knows how badly his father wants to inherit the company after so many years and so much he’s sacrificed. He also knows that his father is only using him as an excuse to keep fighting for the company so he could “have something to leave to his son”. I really do think Sung Jun is was smarter than anyone gives him credit for. I’d also like to think that the photos that were taken when he was at the factory, were a genuine side of him. He found temporary peace there, even if it’s not peace he was looking for. Eventually he got yanked back onto the chess board, because he was a very important pawn for his father. But in the end, no matter how smart, his genius is misplaced.

And last, for a reason, I don’t even get why Min Young is in this even with her function as a prosecutor. Even though they’re both good people, their values crash. Min Young must always follow law and the order it goes through to achieve something, in that she is absolute and refuses to look the other way even for someone she loves. Do Jun on the other hand has already tasted everything life has to offer. From all the suffering he went through with Hyun Woo to everything he gained as Do Jun. He will not harm innocent people, but he’s not afraid of paying back those who have harmed him or his loved ones with interest, even if it means doing something shady. This is why I never could see this relationship. No chemistry between the actors, no chemistry between the characters. Just when we think Min Young will finally do something, she doesn’t. I mean, I do fully except her to go through with this investigation, but at this point in the show, why? We didn’t really need her initial scene at the gallery with Hyun Min to find the culprit. And now we don’t really need her to catch the culprit, because Do Jun has the evidence and could report her at any moment. I assume that’s not gonna happen and Min Young will still be the one to trigger that, I just don’t understand why.

Amazing episode, can’t wait for the next one.

Name: Delphine Athelyna Trevelyan Daughter of Bann Remon Trevelyan and Lady Esme Trevelyan of Ostwick Enchanter of the Ostwick Circle of Magi Advisor to the Herald of Andraste

Age: Roughly 26 during the events at the Divine Conclave

Gender: Female (she/her pronouns)

Born: Ostwick, the Free Marches

Occupation: Former enchanter of Faxhold, the Ostwick Circle of Magi Advisor and friend to the Herald of Andraste

Characteristics: Studious, resourceful, empathetic, protective, often loyal to a fault

Flaws: People pleaser, indecisive, self-critical, solitary at times, ordinary (only in her own opinion)

Born to Remon Trevelyan and Esme Bowen Trevelyan, Delphine is the second youngest of their five children and their only daughter.

Coming from two leading families in Ostwick Delphine was raised in comfort and luxury, doted on by her mother and two oldest brothers, Oweyn and Ralf, until her magic manifested at the age of 8. The Trevelyan family sent their mage daughter to Faxhold, the Ostwick Circle of Magi, under the leadership of Knight-Commander Othar Bowen, Delphine’s uncle.

Young Delphine keeps her nose to her books until the Dalish mage Elazar of Clan Lavellan is dragged, kicking and screaming to their quiet tower. Elazar tries his damnest to befriend the isolated girl and eventually succeeds, having worn down her walls with his charismatic persistence. Over the years the pair become inseparable, Elazar often dragging her into his mischief, and Delphine often talking their way out of trouble. They undergo their Harrowings only days apart.

As tensions rise and word spreads across Thedas of mage rebellions and the templars calling for the right of annulment Delphine and Elazar begin the drift apart. Elazar whispers in dark corners about rebellion with many of the younger mages and apprentices. Delphine looks the other way while she worries about her family. Before word reaches the tower about Divine Justinia’s Conclave, Delphine leaves the Circle with two templar guards, distantly related cousins, appointed by her Uncle as she goes into hiding. Elazar leads a near bloodless rebellion not long after, the Knight-Commander and the First-Enchanter do not try to stop him as he leads away nearly half the Circle’s population. Faxhold is left with only a handful of loyal mages in the days leading up to the Conclave.

Although not seeing eye to eye with the rebel mages of Ferelden, Elazar does find enough common ground to see himself appointed to the party bound for the Conclave. In a last ditch effort he writes a letter to Delphine, begging her to join him and to tell her story at the Conclave. Delphine caves when she received it, sneaking away from her guards to sail south. She thanks the Maker her journey took longer than expected, or else she too would have been at the Temple...

I thought ninja were supposed to be good at sneaking around unnoticed Konohamaru..

The old lady forgot Boruto but knows the red haired dude is up to something, so it’s not all her memories were erased.

Oh, I may have spoke too soon.

Ah the hair clip saved him for a brief moment.

So he only forgot that one day where he met Remon? How convenient.

Konohamaru is actually getting in trouble, oh no.

Also convenient how the one river Boruto falls in leads him straight home.

They said it wasn’t easy to visit someone under house arrest and yet Boruto just hops into Konohamaru’s backyard with no issue.. and they both leave just as easily..
