I’ve been thinking about this line from Good Omens for a while:

"She used to go on about curing illnesses by using a sort of mold, and the importance of washing your hands so that the tiny little animals who caused diseases would be washed away, when every sensible person knew that a good stink was the only defense against the demons of ill health."

In the book, Agnes Nutter, whose mind was adrift in Time, and who didn’t so much see the future as remember it, told people they should wash their hands.

Sounds familiar, no?

"You might want to think about washing your hands. It's gonna be all the rage in a few years, I'm telling you."

Except these lines in the show are from Crowley - the other character who seems to have an unusual relationship with Time.

I keep coming back to the question of why there’s so much focus on that line - it’s not really furthering the action of the scenes with Mr. Dalrymple, right? So if that’s not it, then is it there for character development? If so, why is it important to know this little detail about Crowley midway through the second season of a three season show? Is it a stand-in for the helicopter scene with Da Vinci that we didn’t get in s1? (And again, why is that still important at this point for Crowley’s character?) Is it meant to draw a parallel between Crowley’s abilities and what the book says about how Agnes “saw the future” and came up with her prophecies?*

It makes me want to connect the dots to two other scenes. One from the end of the same episode:

And one we didn’t see (yet? but I really wonder if it would have been from Crowley’s perspective if we had):

Maybe I’m crossing book and show canon too much, but it jumped out at me when I was reading the book last month. I also love a good time loop story, and all this could play into some of the time-related theories for s2/s3. (And yes, I’ve seen Neil’s responses to questions about the washing hands line - seems like we’ll have to wait and see whether it’s important to s3 or whether it becomes another fun character detail to interpret in fanfic.)

*I love the book’s description of how Agnes came up with her prophecies, especially how she could only understand what she was seeing within the framework of the time she was actually living in. Yet another reason to read the book if you haven’t! And if Crowley does have a similar view of events in Time, does he have the same trouble understanding what he’s seeing?

hi okay so!! this will be a short summary!!

Vanguard!Tale starts at the very end of the pacifist route. Instead of the barrier breaking, It had stayed completely shut for currently mysterious reasons. Asgore would have normally sacrificed himself so Frisk can pass, however Frisk talked him out of it, as she assured him that she'd find another way.

KEEP IN MIND THE STORY IS STILL PROGRESSING cuz.. everyone who’s part of it is insanely slow.

For the next 7 years, Frisk stays underground. She's now 17, soon to be 18. During this time, War rages out on the surface which further prevents the monsters from leaving the underground. Due to war and the danger of humanity on the surface, The seven souls are currently kept under even heavier containment as Asgore decides what to do. . . The name vanguardtale comes from the fact that Asgore will eventually give 6 monsters one of the 6 souls; So eventually they can go on the surface and not have to worry about being attacked by humans. This is just a lil summary there’s so much more lore :3 but that’s like the jist. As for some of the MAIN characters. . .

FRISK

Frisk starts off as 10 almost 11, but is now 17 and soon to be 18. Unknown to most, She's done numerous genocide runs years before her final Pacifist run, only to be remembered by Chara. She is, at her core, a murderer. But with the power of DETERMINATION, she came to a realization that she has the ability to change who she is. She will always have the urges to start another route, however her willpower to be a better person and change lives is much stronger than the halfhanded urges. She now resides at New Home and has somewhat replaced Sans as "The Judge".

TORIEL

Toriel has remained basically the same with the slight addition of a new nickname; Cari. Even though shes very similar to UT!Toriel, She has become slightly less reserved in fights. She will only kill when provoked by someone who's proven to be irredeemable, in which she will not hesistate or falter. She excells in almost all fields above most monsters, however shes especially skilled in defense. As for appearance, she looks far more royal than before. She wears purple underneath her white cape and white DELTARUNE symbol connecting the jacket/cape together

SANS

Sans, appearance wise.. is the same. Literally the exact same. He's lazy, did you expect much different? However he DID find a "blue heart sticker" that hes worn ever since. (Possible redesign soon) As for personality, he's much more canon than fanon. He will, in fact, NOT push out a blaster at the slightest inconvinience! With Frisk now taking the job of Judge, he's pretty much living carefree.

CHARA

Nope! Chara is not physical as you asked! He’s a ghost and god knows how he ages. Chara HATES Frisk; And that’s alot coming from someone who would kiss the ground she used to walk on. Any route they took, Chara would support. Every genocide she did, Chara was rooting. But eventually something changed. After Flowey had completely given up on trying to stop Frisk; Chara took a step up and began that job. Not because he hates Frisk for what she’s done; but because they’re insanely tired of being in this world. Imagine how many resets of genocide and then some random ass postponed pacifist. Yea, he’s fucking fed up.

We think all art forms should be celebrated and given proper space to shine, we are just facilitating the stage.  Any kind of music is accepted. For example, you can make a melody that can blend seamlessly with the alterna soundtrack, a remix, full lyrical song about the story mode, acoustic, acapella.... It can be something as small as a ringtone or big as an album... It's all up to you! You own all rights for its publishing and distribution, we are just sharing it with your authorisation on the zine and not anywhere else. Changes to our carrd have already been done when this answer is published to reflect these guidelines. As for experience, host Rebi has received musical education and was part of an orchestra and a choir not so long ago as well. Although she no longer plays music due to health concerns and time restrictions, she is happy to help in any way to the best of her abilities. Host Tari has dabbled in composing and has musical education not only themself, but their family too. If by assets you mean music sheets or programs and alike then no, assets aren't provided. At this moment, Rebi works only with synthesisers and Tari with free chiptune/composing sites. Please keep in mind that this zine isn't serious, just a fun project to show off the members of the splatoon community and how they interpret the artificial land of Alterna!  2.- “If multiple people have the same level as their first pick and their portfolios are roughly equal, how will it be decided who gets the stage? by better pitch, other level pick availability, randomizer, smth else?” R = Stage assignment is decided solely on the chosen level availability, pitches are just for us to see how people think. 3.- “For pieces featuring Neo 3- does it have to feature the “canon” version of the character, or are OC interpretations allowed” R = All contributors are allowed to use their own Neo 3 OCs in their pieces, as well as any interpretation of the canon cast. 4.- “Hi! Takao

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

The way he turns any potential bad situations or feelings into something beautiful and positive. It's something i truly admire about him. My main examples would be his attitude toward Midorima, Kuroko and Akashi.

When he learned the guy he wanted to beat was on his team he accepted it and changed his goal from becoming a better player to be recognized a worthy opponent to be recognized as a worthy ally instead.

When he faces Kuroko, his perfect mirror, and loses. Instead of feeling resentful, he aims to be even better the next time they face each other.

When he sees Akashi ability as a point guard, instead of being frightened or anxious like all the other point guard, he show pure awe and admiration. Jealousy is the kind of sneaky feeling that you can't help but feel sometimes, but it doesn't bring any positivity or drive to be better, it only makes you unhappy. But Takao never falls into this trap.

Even when he sees Midorima and Akashi doing their special three-point play (the Sky Direct 3P Shot, the official name is so dorky i love it) during the Vorpal Swords match, he doesn't show jealousy, even though he himself thought he would be jealous to see it. Instead, he is happy.

All of this speak a lot about who he is as a person. He truly has a good heart and he is the kind of person i genuinely aim to be more like

Sorry it was kind of long, but I love Takao a lot, he truly is amazing.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Well, I just realized that I technically answered that with the first question, so instead I'll give you my second favorite canon thing about him.

I love how accepting he is. Midorima is a difficult person to get along with, and as Takao himself said 'one has to be flexible to keep up with Midorima’s weird habits'. And yet, Takao immediately accepted him. Although at first he made fun of his obsession with horoscopes, it never came from a bad place, Takao just laugh at everything.

Plus, he doesn't just accept it, he actually finds it endearing. He is so precious and the world needs more people like him.

18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?

His relationship with Takao, I honestly don't even think I need to elaborate on this, TakaMido is loved wholeheartedly by the fandom, whether platonically or romantically, and it's 100% deserved. There are probably a thousand essays on them and their dynamics, so I'll spare you my own awkward ramblings. But in short, their way of accepting each other, of pushing each other to be better and their dynamic, everything is perfect.

Who wouldn't want a partnership relationship like this? The way they support and trust each other is truly admirable.

13. What's an emoji, an emoticon and/or any symbol that reminds you of this character or you think the character would use a lot?

This one 🌸, for her hair color and the sad scene under cherry blossom trees with Kuroko when the team is falling apart. I also think she would use it a lot.

23. Favorite picture of this character?

It's really difficult to answer. I had to limit myself to only the pictures drawn by Fujimaki-sensei otherwise it would have been impossible. I think it's this one, because seeing him happy and surrounded by his friends makes me happy

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

I honestly can't remember, it was almost 10 years ago now. But i know i liked him from the start.

And now, well, I've drawn him a hundred times in the last 6 months and done a whole countdown to his birthday, exhausting myself to the point of getting sick. He is on my mind 24/7. I spend an unhealthy amount of time talking about him on Twitter.

In short, I like him a lot. But since this post is already quite long and I have been asked several questions about him on this ask games, I will go into more detail in my other posts.

My Commentary:

"Tails" (Nine specifically also, here) is a character I've loved basically since I was old enough to pick up a Sega controller as a 3-year-old child; and Koushiro came slightly later on when I was still young but closer to / basically exactly Koushiro's J.P.N canon age as I watched.

I've always noted these similarities in their storylines & even, one could say, "personalities" ever since I kept up with Digimon Adventure's series specifically (and Koushiro's also kept evolving and growing in various ways across multiple medias, including a 2020 "reboot" spin-off series that nonetheless still uses the original "Koushiro Izumi" as a base); however, "Nine"'s story dropping today (it's 2k22?!) really feels like it's driving the point home for me when it comes to these storytelling parallels.

(Oh, and Koushiro is also canonically Adopted, yes?)

How's believing\calling Sasuke "sasugay"\gay or shipping sns\hating any heterosexual Sasuke ship, is not offensive to Sasuke? How some pro sasuke not consider sns\any Sasuke gay ships-- fics to be bashing\insulting to Sasuke?

Are many of these fics laugh on Sasuke's canon decsions, character, look, etc? Yes

Are many fics of this put naruto (and kakashi, itachi, basically every character that antagonized sasuke at some point) in pedestal and used as tool to insult Sasuke in every aspect possible? Yes (One don't need to read fics to get what I mean, a little trip to their profiles is sufficient)

So, Who are u kidding? Why not confess and admit that being "bottom" is literally considered insulting in many fandoms( just...why the hypocrisy? many hated charcters are bottoms in fics, why people lie that gay ships aren't used as bashing/slander? i think a lot of the talk around the "canon" of the agents got me thinking

we as a fandom - as far as i think - really only started perceiving the agents as independent characters after octo expansion

i feel like there was glimpses of making 3 an independent character design but folks from the early fandom always knew 3 was meant to be the player and there was always that distinction between themselves in say the squid sisters

splat2 introduced the idea of more agents, which kinda saw the sparks of people making their own agent ocs, but it wasnt really until octo expansion brought up an *older* agent and reintroduced them into a sequel - and then everyone shipping them with the newest agent at that time - that people were like "oh wait i cant exist in this universe in two places" and "wait i wanna draw two versions of myself kissing eachother thats weird gotta fix that"

i feel like that promoted everyone to create seperate personalities for the agents, atleast it did for me

i remember playing splat1 as my own inkling - to the best of my ability considering the limited appearance options back then lol

but in splat3 i played hero mode as "canon" agent 3 jr with the same haircut and eye color as the promo material bc it seemed more fun to imagine This character playing alongside the character i made for octo expansion aka captain 3

i dont know if anyone else can relate lol but like. im fully black i dont look like either of these squids

i think at some point we all started going "canon [blank]" bc a lot of the fandom stopped viewing the agents as themselves like they did in splat1 bc of octo expansion introducing 3 "player" agents in one game, and giving very little option for incredible variations in design which stops us from fully placing ourselves into 3 anymore

but that was Also purposeful by the splatoon team bc they wanted us to acknowledge that agent/captain 3 is the First games inkling i.e. u had very limited options then so you still have limited options now

I am putting this under the cut becasue I am about to go offfff. This is an entire essay, a short character study if you may /lhj

Growing up he almost always had some kinda roommate or a cookie he lived with to help with rent. I hc that in the Lower Republic its a standard experience to be swapping between homes with often a handful of others so you can pay for the apartment. I am talking one person being the legal owner/renter and 3-5 other people living there in secret so they can make ends meet.

I hc that he was childhood friends with Licorice as well along with Seaweed. I am unsure about Affogato but I 100% say they were friends with Licorice.

He used to be very clumsy and bad with magic because no one was there to help him. He picked up every single skill and ability he has by himself, magical and life skills equally. (Which is also partially why he sucks so bad with self care. He never properly learned how a functional, healthy person should live.)

He is very light sensitive due to him growing up in the Lower Republic. Its canonically darker there (if I remember correctly) so he likely got used to cold and dark being the norm.

I have a whole essay on why Espresso hates light magic in my headcanon but that is for another day.

With that being said, I think he unconciously keeps dressing warmer than necessary. He would wear long sleeves or sweaters in hot weather, causing him to overheat every so often. It's a hard habit to break.

I hc him having a love hate relationship with darkness as well. Depending on his emotional and mental state it can either comfort him or set him off even more.

Set him off by making him feel suffocated, reminding him of his childhood and struggles, bringing him back to survival mode unintentionally. He feels like he achieved nothing still, having to work and grind day and night for little to no proof of how far he came. (Of course this is mainly false. Espresso is a respected and well known mage, he is just spiraling.)

Comfort is similar tho. It brings him back to his childhood when he is overwhelmed/overstimulated by noise or light or just simply stress. Darkness was what he knew best for majority of his life so he would find peace in it when things got too much, too strange, too new.

He is hard to break out of survival mode once he slips into the mindset. He gets more closed off but not snappy just quiet. He spends more time in his lab, takes care of himself less, too wrapped up with the his work to notice anything around him. If things get too bad, he only notices what he is doing again when he passes out from exhaustion, finally catching on that he slipped again.

He is so neurodivergent but also has So Many Issues. A therapist would have a field day with this man. His biggest obsession is his work partially because of hyperfixtation and partially because he Needs To Work.

Most of the Elders and Upper Republic did/does not respect him. His conversation with Landlord cookie (whom I have a love hate relationship with) shows that another reason why he has to work so much is to literally get paid. He teaches for money more so than to educate others. He is far from ready to be an actual teacher, his researches are not done and there are too many unknown things about coffee magic for him to confidently pick up students, yet he needs to.

The Lower Republic has mixed views on him. Some of them are happy and proud of him, of how far he got and how much he grew and achieved and the other half resents him for the same reason. The latter half thinks he became one of the all too proud, shiny snobs of the upper republic, turning his back to them.

Actual insomniac, add it to the list of issues. Sure, coffee cookies have higher body heat and netural caffeine in them but with the literal caffeine addiction and amount of stress he is under, i think he has had many occasions where he Wanted to sleep but physically Could Not no matter how frustratingly tired he was, which is why he ended up with just giving up on even trying to have a sleep schedule. Whenever his body decides he is allowed to sleep actually sleep and not just feel like walking dead then he will likely accept it and go to bed.

He has many many skills. He is good at engineering (he built his own lab), science, physics and a handful of life skills such as cleaning, cooking, sewing and first aid. He is very good with young kids as well, he had lots of experience from living with and looking after them when he was young.

I think dying his hair tends to be an impulse decision for whenever he remembers to do it. He doesn't pay too much mind to how he doses it or how he looks since his hair gets messy by itself. He often forgets he has hair dye in when he does it because he goes back to his work as he waits and ends up with it on for hours.

He dresses fancily because 1, aesthetic and 2, the more put together he looks the more people respect him. Its another of those things that he carried on from his childhood. He likes to seem bigger than he is for passive intimidation and charisma points.

He is very moody, (or emotionally unstable depending on how severly you want to view it) swinging between emotions very easily with little to no influence from time to time. Sleep deprivation and unresolved trauma does that to you.

He goes nonverbal when having a meltdown. Like he just shuts off and shuts up, leaving everything and everyone behind until he calms down.

He has a habit of fixing his glasses and covering his face more when he is nervous or embarrassed. He rocks his legs a lot and taps his fingers on stuff to stim. He is a "socks are necessary part of life and i'll die without them" kinda autistic. Floor boards on bare feet are his enemy.

He loves pets of all kinds but he refuses to keep one. He knows he would not be able to be there for it or care for it as much as it needs because of his work.

This is all I can think of on top of my head. I should make an actual google doc haha- there are 100% more things I have about him but I have been typing for like an hour and I need to make breakfast so here is the short version.

He either talks to himself as much as he can or not at all, no in between. Nervous muttening under his breath, reading things out to double check, repeating words that felt nice to say and so on but sometimes he needs absolute and utter silence.

YEAH THAT MAKES SENSE!!! I think that's correct honestly--I definitely think that Scooby made a deal of some kind and that's what we're supposed to take from it, but 100% it seems the nature of it isn't the same as the other deals we've seen. Okay, I actually enjoy them enough to remember some things about them, so let's go! Buckle up, friend. I put this one under the cut just because it's so long haha

Starting with the easiest, Urie tends to keep to himself and avoid showing vulnerability, I think after losing Shirazu, who at least in his inner world, he was the least distant to, he is more open about it but still mostly shows he cares from a distance, doing some chore no one at the Chateau wanted to do or arranging a team outing that he has to begrudgingly participate in himself with enough cajoling from Saiko and the new Quinx. Sadly, he did not grow into that side of himself much before the Rose Extermination, and Shirazu was the only og Quinx who saw the early hints of it before that point in the manga. Even then, their most intimate moments still amounted to bro time with a beer, even if they meant much more to Urie than he let on.

Haise, as Haise, was always trying to get the whole squad together. We see this with his lil Christmas party, but I don't think that's the only time he's been Mr. Host who wants everyone close and getting along. Smaller things like group outings, team-building exercises, dinners at the table, movie nights... he cares and feels for his underlings as much as Shirazu with the ability to follow through on his big ideas. Shirazu and Urie might have been off doing their thing too much to be receptive of it most of the time, but to the more receptive of the bunch, Saiko and Mutsuki, he has a paternal, big brother sort of affection for them. I can see him earning the nickname 'Maman' from Saiko by comforting them when they're scared or sad (Saiko might come to him, but he would have to catch Mutsuki and not take 'don't worry about me' for an answer I think), making soup he can't even taste when they're sick, stuff like that.

Shirazu wants to be the warm, gregarious leader who is well-liked by his squad. He loves to hype his friends up (I mean, dude mechanically carried Saiko from her bed to the field office in canon) and would pour a full milkshake on his head get a smile out of them when they're sad. He shows a lot of affection with his words, and readily cheers on and motivates all three Quinx, though Urie might roll his eyes and Saiko might sleep right through it. If he gets it through his admittedly thick skull that his big, brash pep talks and jokes aren't right for a situation, like if one of his squad-mates needs a hug more than a push, he learns (largely from his brief leadership role, I think) how to show his soft side. A change of scenery often gets him out of a funk, so another way he shows his teammates they're special is taking them to his special places on his bike. He also seems like he would give great hugs.

As for Saiko, I think one of her love languages is recommendations. Video games, movies, shows, snack foods... she shows that she understands her teammates scarily well when she feels motivated to by suggesting something that “made her think of them.” Though it can be used for laughs like in that one omake where she drew buff Urie and taped it up, she might also draw pictures for her teammates as a nice thing to do too. I think she would get clingy once she's really close to someone, liking to hug, cuddle, and of course, nap together as a display of intimacy, platonic or otherwise. Sharing her snacks is also a big, big deal to her, but she will share if she really likes someone.

We know Mutsuki often acts as a mediator and confidante to his teammates in canon. He's a great listener and will give them all the advice or emotional support they need, always a reliable shoulder to cry on. He tries his hardest to look after them and make their lives easier behind the scenes to show he cares, doing someone's chores if they're having a rough week, making their favorite comfort food and either letting them enjoy it in their space or sharing it with them when they're sad-- whichever speaks to them the most, or just telling them all the things he admires about them when they doubt themselves. He's always down to offer his help with anything his team undertakes. And he pays attention to all those above things about everyone else so he can tailor the kindest, most supportive thing he knows to say to them.

Ehh this is probably one of my 'no one is going to want to hear it cause it comes off as depressing' headcanons, but while I realize there are panels of *dialogue* saying otherwise later in the series and for all I know there's some flashback in a chapter I didn't read that totally refutes me, I never picked up on the remaining gen 1 trifecta being super close (friendly, nice, yes for the most part, but not *super* close) after the Rose Extermination and figured they just naturally drifted apart. But considering how most of :re was thrown together I can totally see the possibility that Ishida just didn't tie up his loose ends yet again as well. It just didn't occur to me at the time.

Mutsuki might have tried to keep their original group together if Shirazu was still alive and Haise was still the Haise who was so kind to him, but neither of those things were the case. Him and Saiko I can see making grand plans and promises not to drift, maybe even still hanging out or stalking each other's social media from time to time, but personally I did not see a 'help each other at our lowest' relationship there, even if there might have been some talking/yelling about having one. And I know it's a 50/50 chance this opinion gets me murdered, but he and Urie would have had to have a relationship at all for them to even drift apart.

But idk maybe that all changed in a part of the manga I straight up didn't read. I'm probably the least qualified creator of stuff in what remains of this fandom to talk about ANYTHING toward the end of :re lmao

Maybe it's not so much of a thing anymore but istg at one point I saw more fanon interaction between him and SAIKO than him and Mutsuki, and it made me as livid as someone can be at fun fandom content of a make-believe series. But that's because it was collectively erased from some percentage of people's minds that my two favorites in the whole series had a whole arc together, not because I don't see why him and Saiko would get along.

They both have an artsy side, they both have a playful streak, and both value their freedom to do things on their terms at their pace, so they might hang out from time to time when their paths cross and even turn Haise or Mutsuki into a third wheel if they get to doing/talking about something they both like. I can even see Suzuya possibly resembling the idealized fun quirky video game characters she lives vicariously through, so she might see how he is when he's visiting the Chateau or they're at the same field office and think 'omg hes literally me' and want to be his friend.

Knowing all that, I can definitely see them hitting it off playing a game together at a gathering hosted by Haise or something like that. However, Suzuya kind of has to come into Saiko's world for them to be friendly. As long as it's a game, drawing, talking over snacks, things go pretty well. But she stays out of the way and flies below the radar while Suzuya commands a space, so once Suzuya is way in his element or Saiko is simply running out of social battery, it would be easy for Suzuya to steamroll her in a conversation or render her the passenger prisoner in a shared activity, and with Saiko being on the non-confrontational side, I see a lot of potential for resentment and “how could he say that/do that? I don't like him anymore.”

He's also sincere to the point of insensitivity and I wouldn't put it past him to (accidentally) poke at something that makes her insecure, even if he wasn't exactly being mean, and again, she would just kinda quietly add that to her mental tally of reasons Suzuya Juuzou makes her uncomfortable. But he's also fun to play with and two people who she likes like him, so they get along as long as they stay in her comfort zone.

An underrated interaction as far as Suzuya and the Quinx he isn't shown hanging out with in the manga already, is Suzuya and Shirazu. Personality-wise, they're so similar; Shirazu almost strikes me as basically being Suzuya but sensitive and agreeable. I think if Shirazu survived the series, they would have been buddies, but I don't think they would start out that way. While Saiko might have wanted to like Suzuya more than she ultimately does, Shirazu wanted to not like Suzuya but they end up being each other's favorite third wheels, maybe more if Shirazu didn't die in the very next arc.

Their first interaction without Haise or Mutsuki as a buffer was when Suzuya started mentoring Mutsuki. As any good friend would do when their friend is spending time (read: head over heels) with some creepy guy who might kill cats in his spare time, Shirazu would reach out to Suzuya one day to 'hang out' with the intent of confronting him and basically making sure he treats Mutsuki right through sheer intimidation. However, Suzuya is 1) not scared of him, and 2) actually kind of cool-- but he's weird and can't have good intentions with Mucchan! Focus, Ginshi!

But really, they match each other's energy pretty well, like some of the same things, and this 'confrontation' quickly devolves to commiserating about how great Mutsuki is, Shirazu crying over cute animal photos on Suzuya's phone, them taking Shirazu's motorcycle out for food/drinks (on Suzuya, but that's fine, he was hungry) and getting into shenanigans at the place they went to that Suzuya gets them out of while Shirazu panics. I think it would be cute if one day they hung out again to paint flames on Shirazu's motorcycle together. DAMMIT NOW I WANT TO WRITE WHOLE STORIES ABOUT SHIT THEY GET INTO TOGETHER.

Urie, I can see being cordial with him and even making the occasional gesture of wanting to be liked by him because of his rank and authority. He's a man who knows what he has to do to fulfill his ambitions. Sometimes that means being ruthless, but sometimes that means playing nice with a prodigy investigator while internally screaming through the entirety of every interaction because Suzuya was practically engineered to annoy him as a person.

Urie is a loner and Suzuya loves to peek in on what other people are doing if it seems interesting. Suzuya is sincere and imo unable to wear a mask while Urie, whether he realizes he feels this way or not, has to be serious and taciturn with an iron grip on everyone's perception of him to get what he wants in life and that just makes him all the more critical and irritated by every weird thing Suzuya does in his presence. Suzuya is also perceptive and his big blank stare just looks like it's taking apart anything it lands on and figuring it out, which is probably what private, reserved Urie, who always has a whole separate dialogue going on in his head that he hides from everyone, dislikes the most about him.

And to salt Urie's wounds, he bottles up all these opinions while Suzuya still can't even remember Urie's name most of the time. Like, are these shallow appeasement gestures even doing anything? And there is truth to these thoughts of his-- Suzuya thinks he's just no fun to be around and is indeed oblivious to his very subtle effort at being a little nicer to him than he is to his equals. For this reason, though, I think it would be hilarious to make Urie stand in for Mutsuki on some outing or another because Mutsuki had something come up and Urie saw a chance to curry favor with the Special Class Suzuya and it's a bad time for everyone.
