JATP Season 2 Wishlist
that i wrote in my notes app back in:
Tumblr media
and realized i never posted it here? tbf i'm rarely on tumblr. but because i really miss them rn i want to share my ✨ brainrot ✨ that i had back when i thought they were getting a renewal.
Carrie Wilson
she was my biggest flaw in Season 1. I wish her "redemption arc" is fleshed out more in Season 2; give her either more context & backstory to validate her reason for unnecessarily antagonizing Julie, or screentime to properly address how she's just projecting an emotion completely different into bitterness and anger into Julie's recovery
show particularly her earlier dynamic w/ Flynn and Julie? Maybe as Flynn calls her out, we'd get flashback glimpses prior to Rose's death (maybe even Double Trouble temporarily being Triple Threat 👉🏽👈🏽)
for some reason i'm picturing a scene where she's in her dance studio (she has one in their mansion, of course) practicing some of her Dirty Candy routine when she keeps messing up and not in the right mindset to keep dancing. i feel like the best (maybe easiest but whatever) way to guide the audience into her artist mind is to make her be a perfectionist. in frustration, she blows up for a minute before slumping onto the ground and reminisces her fun times with Julie & Flynn
also when you have her develop, please don't make her lose her femininity and the bubblegum pop music, it's great
Old Songs Resurfacing
it'll prove how detailed & thorough you are as a screenwriter if you pay off the songs mentioned in Season 1 in passing to be actual songs in Season 2
Unreleased: Get Lost, Long Weekend, Crooked Teeth, My Name is Luke, and if that riff from the scene in EP. 5 that spurred on the Bobby reveal isn't from one of these songs, add that too
Demo Album: Late Last Night, Lakeside Reflection, In Your Starlight
Willex
imagine your queer couple gets to have their first kiss first than your het main couple, not only will that settle Madi & Charlie's statements about being uncomfortable in doing a kissing scene and maintaining the priority of Juke's emotional over physical relationship, it would also make an powerful statement
Reggie's Character Arc
i know that he initially had an arc that involved a romance with Flynn but because of the ages of who they casted, they scrapped it and didn't have time to rewrite the scripts for him as filming neared, so they have time to adapt to how jeremy portrayed him for season 2: a lovable dork who craves familial love
since there's a possibility that lifers can now see the boys, maybe some found family trope for Reggie and Ray Molina?
he has pretty much formed a parasocial relationship with him at this point
so why not instead of a love interest, Reggie can have his character arc develop & we see his family before thru flashbacks and paralleling those in the current times because he sees Ray as a father figure
picture this: it's raining, Bobby opens the garage door to the sound of knocking, the boys find Reggie soaking wet and out of breath when he tries to say he doesn't know where else to go then the boys immediately figure out another fight in the Peters household happened. Reggie tries to talk again when Alex (because even though they're the airhead-sarcastic duo, they know they love each other) runs up to hug him and tells the other he doesn't have to say anything
cut to a freshly showered Reggie, quietly watching tv with Bobby, Luke, and Alex in the garage, eating whatever
also a solo acoustic country song, pls. just to make him happy
The Aftermath of the Deaths
for both the boys and Rose
we get parallels about how Bobby dealt with trauma and grief to Julie
like, the reason why the clothes are still in there (are to have costume changes for the boys) is because Bobby immediately moved out of the house (therefore also the garage) and left the clothes there because he couldn't bear to burn it, or visit the boys' houses to break the news to their families and return the clothes, or donate it somewhere so he just...left it. it would make for a more solid reason (for costume changes) and an emotional context as to how Bobby really tried to forget them because it was "easier."
it would also make sense why Carrie and Julie ended up friends. Rose probably was there for Bobby when they discovered what happened at the alleyway, so they stayed friends over the years and had their respective families but still kept in touch, (bonus points if absolutely nothing romantic happened between them! yay to normalizing platonic male-female relationships) and why Rose would immediately think of Bobby's three late bandmates to send for Julie when she was on her deathbed
Bobby never really "moved on" (because grief is a really complex thing). it's showed that he has a therapist and everything, and this could definitely have some aftereffects on his daughter. Carrie growing up seeing her father be this amazing rockstar but a negligent father and only showing love in ways she doesn't need (like riches and fame and connections to the music industry) because he's actually a really lonely man on the inside and no one can see that except for Bobby's spouse and Carrie. it'd explain why Carrie is spoiled, and other negative character traits that Carrie has on the surface
it's even why Bobby changed his name to Trevor: 1) Bobby is so closely associated to Sunset Curve and it's an absolute pain to be reminded of that every day, 2) it's a stage name and artists really do get that
More Worldbuilding
they already had some pretty creative concepts/ideas in the first season, so why not expand/expound on them a bit more
the instruments are attached to their souls that's why the boys at first can only touch them, like how Willie's skateboard and helmet are attached to him
which is why when they attach themselves to the world of the present, they gather up energy and focus on touching tangible things like the picture frame
this may follow the logic toward the end where they are finally able to touch Julie because she has become attached to their souls. emotionally.
More Creative Collaboration
i believe in the principle that when a story is finally released/published/told to the world, the world shares it. this is also visible in film/tv where when the scripts are finished and actors receive them, the story becomes part of theirs to work on. which means that they have some sort of autonomy over their characters' motivations, a chance to be heard of their ideas and pitches, and why some certain scenes wouldn't work, etc etc. it doesn't just become the director's story nor the screenwriters'.
the actors' ideas such as Perfect Harmony and their solos from Nothing to Lose are great because they let them in. they took risks, and it paid off incredibly well. more of that please. have them be a part of the writing process, (also the story), but never forget what made the music production great in the first place. be coherent and don't be like others that let too many hands work on one piece—it will lose its sound, its identity.
Julie Knowing
that Nick is possessed by Caleb. ohmygOD. hear me out.
the same S1 ending will play somewhere in 2x01, but it will be revealed that Julie was watching through the window the entire time and when she opens the door to receive the flowers, that last look she gives him is actually her scheming.
determined to get Nick back, imagine The Promised Neverland's level of mindgames Julie could play with Caleb because we already know our girl's smart
Free Willie Willie's Freedom
since the boys feel indebted to Willie's help, they insist on helping him too with getting rid of Caleb's stamp
maybe through his connection with Alex? or maybe Willie's family or friends who are still lifers (which is unlikely but either way). he needs to be saved !!
Song Sequences Ideas
juke counter melody duet like Rini's "Even When/The Best Part," Shane & Mitchie's "Wouldn't Change a Thing," or dodie & Jon Cozart's "a love song/a non love song"
emotional carrie ballad paired with lyrical hiphop choreo
willex song - i absolutely have no idea where this could go directionally but maybe alex on an acoustic guitar with a really soft sweet tune
reprises of S1 songs but in the complete opposite of their original style (the fandom's lonelier All Eyes on Me version, i see u)
nick guitar solo - just because Sacha actually plays, idk how it'd fit in to the plot yet but hey
Nothing to Lose (Reprise) - back in the '90s, a producer manipulates Bobby to sign a record deal to become a star but on one condition: disassociate himself with Sunset Curve, to which he first declines until he slowly gets persuaded. (sort of like Todrick Hall's So Lucky to Be You meets Lyn Lapid's Producer Man)
"So how about it, Bobby Shaw? Do we have a deal?"
"Trevor."
"I'm sorry?"
"Call me Trevor Wilson."
i'm pretty sure someone made an animatic with this idea too but i cannot for the life of me find it !!
7. Season 2 starts the same way as Season 1 does before the opening song plays
Black screen that reads a text "Hollywood 1995"
a pan down to the Orpheum's overhead sign that reads "SUNSET CURVE SOLD OUT"
cut to the interior with Rose finishing up her cleaning when a stage manager calls out: "Sunset Curve!" to which Bobby abruptly stops his pacing back and forth to look up. he and Rose look at each other. music swells until...
cut to him running onto the alleyway, "are they still not finished eating? those gluttons are dead to me i swear—" he cuts off his own words when he sees the boys getting dragged onto stretchers. but we, the audience, don't see it. just a close up of bobby as the ambulance lights reflects his face. rose comes up behind him, still clutching their t-shirt.
[i honestly have no idea if Bobby should get on stage because it just proves Luke's theory of The Orpheum's opening bands eventually becoming big & successful so it'll explain the Trevor Wilson fame even though at first he only did it for the boys, or if he shouldn't because according to the article Julie googled he ran away immediately after they were pronounced in the scene] but either way, this is how the opening starts.
then it progresses to Rose and Bobby respectively having children so they could parallel each other blah blah
8. Julie plays a simple song on the piano while the guys watch her in awe
Storytelling through Props
let's dive deep into Rose's luggage/suitcase and use the props to head for Julie's emotional attachment with them
they already did it with the wardrobe: Rose wears the black leather vest in the pilot while Julie wears the same thing in EP 6
add depth to the characters' relationships like us finding out Julie's multilayered necklace is actually a gift from Carrie or something
SOYON ANN YOU'RE A GIFT FROM GOD. Bobby's necklace is present in both young and old!him
**Rose in flashback scenes should be wearing clothes we've already seen Julie in Season 1 just for greater effect.
The Bobby Conflict
definitely needs to be brought up again by Season 2; they only discarded somewhere in the middle because more pressing matters like the boys' existence blipping away was pushed to the forefront of the story
however, The Bobby Conflict changes. it'll be cleared up that he was offered a record deal as a solo artist by a manipulative producer. and given that the poor boy is only 17 (too, maybe), he agrees. what he doesn't know is the contract's fine print: giving up Sunset Curve's royalties
that information clears it up to the audience and the band, so the conflict becomes this: Bobby's Survivor's Guilt. god wouldn't that be so good tackling that in a kids'/family show.

14 ("Across the room smiles") or 16 ("The “I’m in love with you and can’t stop grinning like an idiot” smile ") for the cute smiles juke prompts, please. :) (Can't decide. Both are too good.)
this was requested way too long ago but I’ve been in a severe writing slump so it took me too long 🥲 anyway, these prompts are from this post by @me-writes-prompts !! I thought I wanted to take requests but I quickly found out I do not have the bandwidth 😅 so here is a cute lil juke fic in the meantime! it is a mess but it is Juke so oh well. I also couldn’t choose one prompt so I did both and that’s why this is so long 😌
~
Julie would never get tired of this.
The sound of different voices overlapping and lots of laughter filled the room. She watched as her dad showed Willie the various features in his newest camera, Willie listening with rapt attention.
In the kitchen, Tía was bustling around and giving Reggie instructions as he tried to keep up with the many years of cooking some of the best meals Julie has ever tasted under her belt.
Flynn and Carlos were setting the table together, chatting about who knows what.
It’s become a tradition to spend their birthdays all together. One they’ve carried since they were kids—lost teenagers just trying to make it big in the music industry. Back when Julie met Luke, Reggie and Alex and they immediately became part of the Molina family which already consisted of her Dad, Carlos, Victoria and Flynn. Flynn introduced Alex to Willie and their family was pretty close to complete.
The warm rush of love that flooded her system was something she never got tired of.
And now as she watched their family get ready for her birthday dinner, Julie couldn’t be happier with the way her life was turning out.
She watched as Luke walked into the dining room, tapped Carlos on his left shoulder as he passed him, and swiped his finger through the frosting on the cake tía made.
Just as Luke successfully licked the frosting off his finger, Carlos caught on to Luke’s antics and it turned into both boys trying to put the other in a headlock.
Flynn rolled her eyes and continued setting the table but Julie could see a small, fond smile grace her face.
Luke ended up overpowering the younger boy, much to Carlos’s dismay but they both laughed as Luke let him get back to his task. It was when he took a step back and Julie could tell he was also surveying the room and the people he loved all in one space, that his eyes finally caught hers.
His smile is bright and soft at the same time, lighting up his features and simultaneously making her insides turn to mush.
“Mija, deja de mirar a tu novio,” Victoria called from the kitchen. “Your father and I need you in the kitchen, por favor.”
Julie felt her cheeks burn. She glanced back at Luke, his smile turning amused and he shot her a wink as she made her way into the kitchen.
But the light and airy feeling she got from Luke quickly dissipated when she saw her dad and aunt bent together talking seriously. It’s eerily reminiscent of a time she was still all too familiar with, the day her parents sat her down to tell her Rose was sick.
“Papí? What’s going on?”
“Julie! Nothing, mija,” Ray startled, waving a hand in the air. “We just wanted to talk with you.”
“Is everything okay?”
“Of course, sobrina,” Victoria assured her. “We’re just so proud of you and the woman you’ve become.”
“You’ve grown up so beautifully, and I know your mom would be so proud of you too,” Ray agreed. “Especially in the way you’ve formed a band with the boys and created a wonderful life for yourself.”
Julie nodded, their words comforting but also making her heart ache at the reminder of the many milestones her mother didn’t get to see. Where were they going with this?
“And we couldn’t be happier for you, that you’ve found such a wonderful partner in Luke,” Victoria said.
She smiled at the mention of Luke. “I’m glad you feel that way.” Julie glanced back and forth between them, still not quite sure what was going on. “Where are you two going with this?” It wasn’t entirely out of character for them to be saying any of this, but it seemed almost out of nowhere.
“Mija it’s your birthday, can’t your old dad get a little emotional?” Ray teased.
“My birthday was a few days ago,” she corrected with a teasing smile before she pulled them both into a hug. “I love you guys…. even when you act weird.”
They both chuckled before Julie pulled back and a hand sliding into place on the small of her back made her jump.
She turned to see Luke waiting for her, eyes sparkling with something she couldn’t decipher. “Hey Jules. Follow me?” He slipped his hand into hers without waiting for an answer (it was always yes and he knew that) and led her through the door to the backyard.
“Luke, what’s going on?”
“Have I told you how insanely talented I think you are?”
“Only when you’re deflecting,” she shot back, and the shit eating grin he sent her should’ve annoyed her, but it only made butterflies swoop in her belly.
“You mean you don’t want to write in the studio the way we used to?”
Julie raised a curious brow at him even as they continued to walk through the yard toward the gate that led to the garage turned studio. “Oh yeah? And what song are you working on?”
“A really special one,” he told her over his shoulder as they walked through the gate and made their way down the stairs. “I want your opinion on it.”
Julie remembered the countless times they made this exact walk as teenagers, when Luke would rush into her room or even up to her locker at school going on excitedly about a song or an idea he had.
Or the many times she snuck out here in high school because she knew Luke was taking refuge in the studio, away from his parents and the constant arguing that plagued their home.
Or any time he met her out there, all the band practices they had, writing sessions like he’d just mentioned, or when she missed her mom so much, Luke would bring her out here to cuddle up and talk or nap together. She always felt closest to her mom in the studio and to share so many wonderful memories of Luke and the boys there meant so much to her.
It truly was a magical, happy place for Julie and for their relationship.
Despite this, when they finally reached the doors and Luke pulled them open, Julie’s jaw still dropped in shock.
Twinkling lights were strung from the ceiling, just barely touching the chairs hanging from the ceiling. White sheets were draped around the studio to cover the walls, with numerous candles and flower petals scattered across every surface creating a warm glow from inside.
It was the most beautiful the studio had ever looked in her memory. She walked further inside, still in awe that Luke did it. It must’ve taken him so long to set it all up and find the time in between their recording schedule to sneak out here and put it together.
Julie turned toward the man in question only to find him down on one knee. “Luke,” she breathed, her hand covering her mouth. She shouldn’t be surprised. They’d both discussed marriage and their future and both agreed they wanted that together. She just didn’t think it was happening now.
He gently took her free hand and squeezed. “Julie, I have loved you since the minute I saw you sitting in the back of Harrison’s class sophomore year. And then you immediately called me out because I didn’t recognize a Paramore song another kid was performing.”
She giggled at the memory, remembering her outrage that Luke couldn’t identify Misery Business. “How can you be in a pop rock band if you don’t know Paramore??”
“I know now!” His eyes sparkled with amusement that matched her own. “Little did I know then that as soon as we became friends, it was over for me. You have made me a better person, a better writer and a better musician and I hope to continue to do the same for you. I can’t imagine living out my dreams with anyone else.” Luke reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box, carefully opening it to reveal a familiar, simple princess cut diamond ring.
It was her mother’s ring, glittering in the light of the studio and as beautiful as Julie remembered.
Her eyes flickered from the ring to Luke’s face. “How did you… where did you get this?” Even as the words left her mouth, she already knew the answer.
“Your dad said you’ve been eyeing this ring since you were old enough to talk,” Luke said as he plucked it from the box and held it up to her. “He knew your mom would want you to have it now.”
Julie felt tears prick the corner of her eyes, her grief attempting to make itself known once again. If only her mom was here, waiting inside the house with the rest of her family to celebrate with them. To plan the wedding, calm her nerves the day off, walk her down the aisle with her dad. But Julie knew her mom would be there with her, just like she always was. “If there’s a will, there’s a way,” Rose would always tell her.
Her dad and tía’s behavior suddenly made sense too. Why hadn’t she realized sooner??? She could be upset with Flynn for not clueing her in sooner…
But how could she feel anything but bone crushing, all consuming love for the man in front of her?
“I know you miss your mom, Jules,” he said, as if to prove the point she hadn’t even voiced out loud. “I know you wish she were here, and I do too. But the best I can do is to bring you here where I know you feel closest to her.”
Luke was her musical partner, her co-writer, her rock, her best friend, her comfort, and her home. She wanted all of him: the good and bad and whatever life threw at them. Julie wanted Luke by her side forever, and she was sure Rose would approve.
“Julie, baby,” Luke addressed her finally. “Will you marry me?”
She nodded as a few tears escaped down her cheek. “Yes! Yes, of course, I will.”
Luke’s grew so big she was sure it had to hurt his face. He slid the ring onto her finger before standing up to cup her face. “These are happy tears, yeah?” His thumb swiped them away.
Julie laughed, albeit shaky and nodded again. “Yes, Luke.”
“Good because otherwise me kissing you in a minute is gonna be a little awkward,” he joked before leaning in to capture her lips with his own.
She pulled back after a beat, pressing her forehead to his. “I love you too, you know.”
Luke’s eyes opened, glancing at her expression before a familiar smile takes over his face once more.
“What?” she asked, a mirroring smile blooming across her face.
“I’m just so in love with you. I can’t believe how lucky I am that I’m the Julie Molina’s fiancé.”
Her responding eye roll is lost in the mess of kisses Luke presses over her face.

Soulmates / royal purple
"Julie! Your letter is here!"
Julie bolted up out of bed at her father's voice, stumbling down over the stairs and racing into the kitchen. There, sitting at her place at the table, was The Envelope. The one that would tell her the name of her soulmate.
She lifted it up with trembling hands. "What if..."
Her dad enveloped her in his arms. "Sssh mija, fate never gets this wrong. Whoever they are, they are the best person for you." He stepped back, smiling as he looked into her eyes. "It might not feel that way at first. Dios knows your mother and I were such opposites I wasn't sure at first that she was supposed to be with another Raymond Alejandro Molina and me another Rosita Maria Alvarez. But... once we got together, it was magical."
"I just wish she was here right now," Julie sniffled.
"Me too Julie, me too," he whispered into her hair. "But she's looking down on us, so let's not keep her waiting."
Julie nodded and ripped open the envelope, lifting... two pages?
"I have two soulmates," she said.
"What are their names?" Carlos asked around a mouthful of toast.
"Kayla Vivianne Caro. I know her, she's part of Carrie's band, and we have dance together. She's nice, though we're aren't like friends or anything," Julie said, reading the first name.
"Guess you will be now," Carlos said wryly.
"Guess so," Julie remarked, and then looked at the other paper, gasping at the name on it.
"Who is it?" her papi asked.
Carlos picked up the sheet. "No way!" He held it up to Ray's eyes and he read it, sure he was mistaken. But no, there, written on Julie's page was the name of the hottest country star in America.
Reginald Eugene Peters.
Julie slumped down into her chair, not really able to cope with the reality. "W-what do I do?"
"Breathe mija, breathe," Ray advised her. "First you go get ready for school. I'm sure Kayla is anxious to see you, because she probably got the same shock as you are getting right about now. Then you wait, because I'm sure Reggie's people will contact you before the day is out. Okay?"
Julie nodded numbly, and went through the process of getting ready almost robotically. She still made sure to look nice of course, in her soft lavender sweater and doodled on jeans, fluffing her hair up and even applying a thing layer of gloss to her lips.
She was Julie Molina, she could do this.
Straightening her shoulders, she grabbed her bag and headed for the bus. Just a normal day. Well, at least until she saw Kayla, looking beautiful in a flowy lilac sundress, a nervous smile on her face, waiting for her at the bus stop.
"Hi Julie," she said, fingers twisting together.
"Hi," Julie croaked out. "Did you get a second letter too?"
Kayla nodded. "I've been up since dawn pacing and wondering if he'll contact us himself or send a rep or just ignore it."
"I suppose we'll have to wait and see," Julie replied. "I have study hall first period, do you wanna skip and get to know one another?"
"I think Mrs. Jenkins will understand if I miss one History class," she answered. Hand in hand they went off, unsure about how much their lives were about to change, but at least they knew they had each other.
And Reggie...well he was just as nervous to meet them. But he had a show to do in Nashville before he could fly off to Los Feliz.
But that didn't stop him from dedicating his last song of the night to "My beautiful girls, I can't wait to meet you." causing the entire audience to go up in screams. And maybe, just maybe, two girls watching a shaky live stream of it in a bedroom in California were screaming right along with them.

“i’m here. i promise.” for Ray Molina to any of his many children
The night of Julie’s Orpheum performance Ray’s life irrevocably changed in a way he never would have predicted. He had been expecting a change, his daughter’s band had just been the opening act for another, already very popular band. There was no way changes weren’t on the horizon.
What he hadn’t expected was to find himself filling the position of father…surrogate father?...to the rest of Julie’s band.
Julie’s band which as it turns out were not from Sweden. He’d suspected for a while that Julie had been lying, but he’d never suspected the lie was to cover up the fact her bandmates were ghosts. Ghosts that, if they hadn’t died, would be almost as old as he was. He didn’t really like to think about that.
Except after the Orpheum they weren’t quite so ghostly. Able to be seen by and interact with more and more people than Julie. . .though the rules of how and when were frustratingly unpredictable. Some days the three teenage boys were so solid they could be heard running into walls and doors where they’d normally be able to phase through. Other days Ray’s only clue they were even present was when they’d write him a note alerting him of their presence.
While difficult to track, the ever changing ghost rules somehow ended up being the least concerning things Ray had to learn about his newfound family members. Ray didn’t want to make too many assumptions but until any of the boys opened up all he had were his observations of their behavior. And each of them exhibited some worrying traits.
Today, the one causing him the most worry was Luke.
The first sign something was wrong was Luke was wearing a tawny plaid baggy flannel. Ray had been convinced the boy hadn’t even heard of a sleeve and here he was on a relatively warm day drowning in them.
Ray felt his suspicions that something was wrong with the boy were confirmed when he found him miserably sitting at the table. It’s not that Luke was incapable of being still. But that stillness usually only occurred when he was focused on music.
“I see we’re visible today.” Ray announced as he tentatively joined Luke at the table. He’d found it best to make such announcements on the off chance they weren’t already aware. Especially after the time he’d scared Reggie so bad the boy would have certainly cut his head open had he also been solid at the time.
Luke glumly hummed, unmoving from where he stared out the window. Something was definitely wrong.
“Do you need to talk about it?” Ray said, trying not to be too offended by Luke’s dubious look. “I’m here and willing to listen. I promise, I’ll just listen unless you want advice.”
It wasn’t a promise Ray would typically like to make with his kids. But sometimes his ghost children were given certain exceptions his living children weren’t, on merit of strange circumstance.
“I’ve been thinking.” Luke leaned back into his chair with a heavy sigh. “My parents might be able to see me.”
“Oh.” Ray said, the comment catching by surprise more than he suspected. He’s not sure why it never occurred to him that these boys probably had families of their own still out there. As soon as he finished with that realization he was quickly able to see what might have caused Luke’s current melancholy.
The possible opportunity to talk to his parents was being dangled in front of this poor boy like the world’s most tragic carrot. Ray couldn’t help himself, he needed to know how he could help, if he could help. “Do you want to see if they can?”
“I-” Luke started then stopped. Staringly distantly through the tears welling up in his eyes. When he finally spoke it was through barely contained sobs. “I don’t know.”
“I understand.” Ray said with a nod, debating if he should test how tangible Luke was today. The kid looked like he could use a hug, but that might press his luck further on the whole ‘promise to just listen.’ “It’s a lot to think about.”
“Yeah.” Luke mumbled through a noise that Ray had trouble distinguishing between a cry and a wry laugh.
“Well, once you do know. I’ll be here.” Ray reiterated, deciding to continue to press his luck once he caught Luke’s small smile. “Do you want to tell me about them?”
Luke chewed on his lip as his eyes examined the table in front of him. “Maybe later.”
“Whenever you’re ready.” Ray said laughing when Luke finished for him with, “You’ll be there.”

Okay, my love language is giving handmade gifts, and so is Julie’s.
Everyone’s seen Julie’s hand-drawn mic that she uses for absolutely everything. That was a gift from her mom, and Julie liked the idea of handmade gifts having way more significance than a store bought gift. So, she showers Ray, Carlos, Tía, Rose, Flynn, and eventually, Luke, Alex, and Reggie with handmade gifts as well. She loves them, and that’s how she shows it.
—Family edition—
Ray
Ray Molina learned how to cook soon after his wife passed away. But, since he didn’t know shit about food, and the few times he had attempted cooking, he’d almost burned down the house. So, after his wife passes away, he experiments A LOT, and Julie and Carlos end up being his test subjects. The first few weeks are slow, because he doesn’t feel like being in the kitchen since it reminded him so much of Rose. But, he bucks up, and he starts cooking. Every meal he makes, he calls Carlos and Julie and asks them to taste and rate it, and some days, they would try and cook together. As a beginner, Ray lost a lot of T-shirts by spilling sauce on it, or accidentally burning off one end (that’s a whole other story).
Julie knew how much her father was struggling. He had just lost his wife, and he did not have time to grieve because he had to take care of her and Carlos. Julie was so grateful to him, but she couldn’t find the words to tell him. How was she supposed to let a man, who dropped everything in the world— including his job and own time to process emotions — know that she was so thankful of his presence and his efforts?
So, one day, when Flynn takes her to a grocery/home store (because Flynn 100% likes roaming the aisles for no reason), Julie finds a plain, light yellow apron. She immediately buys it, because its the first time her brain is doing something other than missing her mom. And she needs to move, she’s feeling restless at that point.
As soon as she goes home, she’s locked herself in her room. She pulls out her paints and brushes, and a pencil and an eraser (rubber) to outline a rough image. As soon as she was satisfied with the rough drawing, she started painting, and then she was outlining, and she spent three hours losing herself in art, because if not art, then what else? And anything was better than a conversation with Dr Turner.
She was done painting at 2 in the morning, and then she had to let it dry. She didn’t get much sleep that night, her mind was running. Every hour, she would check the the apron, make sure the paint hadn’t smudged. At 5 in the morning, she did a final outline and detailing that she had left to do, until she was proud of what she had made.
The next morning, when she went downstairs, Ray lightened up at her sight and asked, “Mija, would you be okay with Spaghetti for lunch? I made too much last night,”
“Of course, dad,”
Ray had noticed her quietness. How could he not, he’s the best damn father. “What’s wrong?”
“Oh. Uh, nothing. I kinda made you something,” Julie handed him the folded apron.
Ray opened the apron, letting it fall in the air so that he could see the whole thing. He was stunned for a second, before he let out a teary laugh. He pulled Julie in a hug, repeating, “I love you” over and over.
His apron had bubbly, colourful letters spelling “The Spaghetti Master” with a spaghetti plate turned over the S, and dripping over the M and A.
Carlos
As a child, Carlos was a little (a lot) jealous of the relationship Julie had with their mom. Rose and Ray were excellent parents, no doubt. I meant look at their kids. But, Carlos sometimes felt like his sister loved everyone else more than him. He tried to seem indifferent to it, and tried to not let it bother him so much, but come on, he’s a kid, its gonna bother him.
He didn’t wanna say anything to Julie, because he didn’t want his sister to pity him. No, please. He was seven and he could handle himself just fine. He didn’t need no one, no thank you.
That’s a lie.
He needed his sister, and his mom, and his dad, and his tía. He didn’t like showing them that he needed him, though. Why? I don’t know.
But, his sister is observant (when she wants to be), and she knew her little brother had something going in his mind that he won’t tell her. And she did not like that. Carlos and Julie were siblings and would tell each other everything. Periodt.
But, since Julie didn’t know what was going on in her brother’s head, she didn’t know how to help him. She tried to talking to him, but he always seemed dismissive, and yeah, ngl, that hurt a little bit. But, Julie was determined to make her brother happy again.
She didn’t have a lot of money to buy the new game that he wanted. She only had the little coins in her piggy bank, and a little bit of monthly allowance that her parents gave her. She had to do something out of the little money she had.
So, after school, she decides to go to the stationary. Maybe, she’ll find something there for Carlos? She doubted it, but she had to try. Anything for her brother.
As she looked around the shop, she came across threads that seemed strong enough to not break if she pulled them. An idea formed in her head, and she decided to buy his favourite colour and her favourite colour.
Rushing home, she barely greeted her parents before running to her room. She had her scissors, a cello-tape, and a jewellery clasp that she found in her drawers on her table spread out so that everything was in reach.
With her head bent down, and her shoulders hunched, music played in the background as she worked on a simple plait design, using the two colours she got for the two of them, and repeating one colour in both for the third string, so that they could differentiate which bracelet was for who.
Julie had missed dinner, but once she’d told her mom that what she was doing was way more important than food at that moment, Rose did not disturb the girl. She could hear Carlos playing video games and him screaming at their father for cheating (Ray was terrible at video games, Carlos was worse. But he got better with Reggie, Alex and Luke).
Once she was done, she ran down the stairs.
“Hey, Mija! Hungry?” Ray asked, smiling at the girl.
“Afterwards, dad. Need to do something super important.” She turned to Carlos and said, “Come with me,”
Carlos shrugged and followed his sister to the studio. He didn’t know what she wanted, but he was glad he was getting to spend some time with his sister.
Standing outside the studio, Julie turned to Carlos and said, “You’ve been feeling down lately, and I don’t know why. I wanted to cheer you up, so I made you something just for the two of us.” She opened her hand and showed him the bracelets she had made. “One for you and one for me. This way, whatever is going on in your head, you can look at this and look at this and know that I’m always here for you.”
Carlos hugged her, wrapping his arms around her. Julie hugged him back, holding him tightly. The two slowly pulled back and clasped the bracelet onto each other’s wrists, promising to never remove it.
Tía
Tía had been a part of Julie’s life for as long as she could remember. It was only when Rose was in the hospital, that she started seeing her Tía more frequently.
Rose had told Julie that Tía tended to forget to take care of herself when she was taking care of others. Julie could see the truth in that. For instance, when Julie stayed up because of mid terms and Rose and Ray were in the hospital, Tía used to stay up for as long as Julie did, and came every hour or so with coffee, or something to eat so that Julie could stay energised and awake.
The day her midterms were over, Julie and Tía had taken the longest nap together, cuddled on the couch in the Molina household.
When Rose was admitted in the hospital the first time, Ray and Victoria had spent half their time with the kids, and the other half with Rose. They kept alternating, and it was getting exhausting for all of them. So, they eventually decided that Ray will take care of Rose when she was in the hospital, and Victoria would stay with the kids during the day.
It worked well for Carlos and Julie, because that meant delicious, authentic food all day, and a mother figure to help them when they needed.
Whenever Julie or Carlos wanted to cry because they were scared or worried or just missed their mother, Victoria was always there, hugging them, soothing them, cheering them up. Julie would always be grateful for that. She had seen many times when her Tía comforted Ray after Rose’s death.
A few months after Rose passed away, Julie realised that her tía hadn’t been taking care of her as well as she should. She had heard her tía late at night, or early in the mornings, cooking for them. She had heard her tía cleaning around, comforting everyone, just trying to bring a positive ray of sunshine when none of them felt like it.
Julie knew that her tía missed Rose too. She had heard her crying a few times, clutching a picture of the two women together. She had noticed how sometimes tía would walk out of the room in the middle of a movie, or something, making an excuse. Her tía needed to take care of herself, and grieve on her own time as well, and Julie felt guilty for stealing away that time.
So, on a weekend, Julie and Flynn went to the mall, buying all the lotions, face masks, nail paints, and oils that Victoria liked. They searched for her favourite candies and drinks. The two girls made cards for Victoria, thanking her for all her support. They even went to Build-A-Bear and got a cute little bear for Victoria, with a dahlia on the T-shirt of the bear.
When they reached home, Julie quickly assembled everything in a pretty basket, while Flynn looked for pretty ribbons or something of that sort to decorate the basket. When they finally managed to cover the basket and tie a bow with a net sort of thingy, the two took it downstairs to where her tía was loading leftovers in the fridge.
“Tia?”
“Yes, Mija? oh, what it is this? It’s beautiful!”
“This is your self-care package. You’ve been taking care of all of us for a long, long time, and you were always there for us whenever we needed you. Now, its time for you to take care of yourself, and give yourself attention!”
Victoria had stared at the two girls for a moment, before bursting into tears. She had hugged Julie and Flynn tightly, touched at the thoughtfulness of the girls.
Julie’s guilt had reduced, seeing her tía taking care of herself.
Rose
Rose and Julie had a habit of doodling on their new sneakers, whatever colour they may be. It was another way of bonding for the two of them. The first time Rose and Julie had doodled on their shoes was then Julie was four years old, and had come home, complaining about her teacher who had scolded her in front of the entire class for drawing on her shoes. Julie had tears in her eyes, and Rose refused to accept her little baby crying.
So, the next day, when Rose went to pick Julie up from school, the mother daughter duo had matching doodled sneakers to show off to Julie’s rude rude teacher. The teacher had taken one look at Rose’s shoes, and shut up about people letting their creativity flow. (Thank God, cause we don’t need people like that)
When Julie turned 14, and her mother had been in and out of the hospital for long enough to become an everyday activity (it never should’ve come to that, but Rose needed the doc’s help, and every time she got better, she got worse), her mother had been complaining once how her hospital slippers were plain and boring, and the doctors won’t let her do anything because too much movement or force on the brain made her lose consciousness, and no one wanted that.
One night, her father had stayed at the hospital with her mother, and Tía had been babysitting Carlos and Julie. Julie was in her parents’ room, because she missed her mom. Also, it was partly her house, she was allowed to be in that room. As she flopped on the bed, and rolled over to her mom’s side, she noticed the plain, boring hospital slippers.
Grabbing her markers, Julie quickly set to doodle on her mom’s slippers. She made intricate designs, with flowers and ghosts and mushrooms here and there. She didn’t know what else she could draw quickly, so Julie stuck to the basics that she knew.
The next day, Ray entered the house, looking for the slippers. Julie had simply handed the bag with Rose’s slippers, and he headed out.
Later that day, Ray sent a picture of Rose showing off her new, doodled slippers, and smiling at the camera. The caption read, “She’s been showing it to everyone who enters the room. Thank you, Julie <3”
It’s one of the happiest memories Julie has from her mom being in the hospital.
This is longer than I expected it to be, so I’m gonna post a separate Friends edition to this!

And I’m gonna do it, too.

Come on, you did not put in “You got me a stocking?” - “Of course, you’re family.” and NOT expect me to prompt it with Reggie & the Molinas right?
Four people sent me some version of this prompt and I think I made the Reggie Molina bait a liiiiittle too strong. #noregrets Set in the same universe as this fic
Christmas hadn’t been the same since they came to LA. Not that his parents had been great at Christmas before that, but his Meemaw and Pops usually picked up the slack. They made sure Reggie got presents he actually liked, and clothes that actually fit. They took him to the mall to see Santa when he was little, even though the nearest mall was over an hour away. And whenever his parents inevitably started to argue (not fight, not yet, they had only turned into full blown fights after the move), Pops would take him out to give the horses their Special Christmas Treat. Usually some apple peels or carrots.
Pops had also been the one to sit him down and tell him about the Magic of Christmas and the truth about Santa. Thankfully, because his first winter in LA, there were no presents from Santa under the tree. There’d barely been any presents at all, but he’d heard enough fights about money, late at night huddled in his bed, to know not to complain.
Christmas after they came to LA just got worse over time. The arguments turned into full blown fights. They stopped getting a real tree, then stopped setting up the fake tree, and finally, his mom just stopped helping Reggie decorate at all. (At least they still let him decorate.)
There was the year both his parents forgot to get him a present, after spending a lot on each other, which crashed them straight out of the honeymoon phase and back into another fight. He‘d gotten his bass guitar around New Year to make up for it, though.
These days, Reggie tried not to be home a lot around the holidays. They still did Christmas morning, kind of, Reggie making Meemaw’s apple pancakes and exchanging only-sometimes-heartfelt gifts. He did his best to get his parents something he’d thought they would like, and he kept a smile on his face, even when he unwrapped the Star Trek shirt. It was the thought that counted, right? At least the shirt fit.
Most years, he just wandered around town, pretending he was on his way to some awesome party, smiling and nodding at families in the street. Or he stole they key from under the flower pot at Luke’s house, crashing in his room even though Luke and his parents always visited his grandparents for Christmas. The Pattersons always had a pretty tree, and he liked to stare at it, even if he didn’t dare turn on the lights lest the neighbours call Mitch or Emily.
This year though, he had a place to go. Because Julie had invited him to Family Christmas Dinner. And then dragged him inside and made Ray invite him too, when he started talking about how that was like, family time and he didn’t want to intrude.
When he got to the Molina house and knocked, Carlos opened the door, shouting happily. “It’s Reggie!” He pulled Reggie inside, talking a mile a minute about the new videogame he’d gotten for Christmas and how they’d finally have enough people for multi-player mode with him and Julie.
God he loved the Molinas.
He gave Julie a hug, and passed Tía the tin of cookies. “I know you said I didn’t have to bring anything, but I made cookies,” he explained. And honestly he hadn’t felt like sharing them with his parents. He’d left them a few, but he’d made them for the people he really wanted to spend the holidays with. “It’s my Meemaw’s recipe.”
“Thank you, mijo, that’s very kind of you,” Ray said, catching him in a hug. Ray hugs were still kind of new, after Father’s Day, but they were also kind of the best.
Dinner was amazing, and he basked in the feel of sitting at a family dinner and not being worried about when the shouting would start. The food was delicious, the pre-video-game trash talk was g-rated but thus extra hilarious, and it was just everything Reggie had been missing at home for the past couple of years.
After dinner, while they waited for the ice cream to thaw enough to eat and munched on Reggie’s cookies (and man, did he glow under the praise from Victoria and Ray), Carlos jumped up. “Can we, dad? You said after dinner, it’s after dinner!”
“Fine,” Ray said, chuckling as Carlos raced out of the room. Reggie blinked, wondering if it was video game time, but then Carlos came back, carrying three brightly coloured stockings. He handed one to Julie, put one on his chair, and Reggie leaned back so he could give the last one to Ray, but it ended up in his lap instead.
He was about to pass it over, when he saw the name embroidered on the hem. “You got me a stocking?” he asked, shocked. He hadn’t gotten anyone presents. Julie had told him not to. They were already doing the Band Secret Santa when Luke came back, and she knew his pocket money was non-existent.
“Of course,” Ray said, like it was nothing. “You’re family.”
He did eventually get to his stocking, but not before hugging the daylights out of Ray, and then Julie, and Carlos, and Tía.

“May I have this dance, Princess?”
The whisper in her ear sends a shiver down her spine. She knows that voice anywhere. She refrains from whipping around to face him like she truly wants to, keeping her composure relaxed as she turns to meet his knowing smirk and the twinkle in his hazel eyes.
Luke knows she hates it when he calls her that—when anyone calls her that. But she’s still inclined to take his outstretched hand in her own, allowing him to lead her to the dance floor.
Julie’s entire life, but more specifically her relationship with Luke is a choreographed dance — constantly toeing the line between loving him unashamedly when no one is looking and keeping up appearances like everyone expects.
To her father’s knowledge, that’s all her interactions with Luke were. Societal mandated niceties and mutual respect and nothing more. Because if it were to go any further, Julie is positive her father and the king of the tiny country both Luke and Julie have called home for most of their lives, would absolutely lose it and likely banish Luke from coming within 100 feet of the palace or Julie herself. Luke is the least suitable partner for the country’s future queen, according to her father. He’ll never be good enough.
Which is why the best they can do, is accept a dance or two from one another—or at least as many as they can without seeming suspicious—and the rest of their time together is spent behind closed doors, in between Julie’s various commitments as princess, all in hushed voices and hurried kisses or stolen glances from across the room.
But here, even in a random supply closet off the ballroom with Luke pressing soft kisses down her neck, Julie can live in this tiny bubble of bliss for the rest of her life. Where they write songs, and talk about their dreams that don’t involve laws and crowns and pleasing other people, and the only two people who matter are each other.
Yeah, that’s totally feasible. She’ll just… never go out on dates. Or let anyone publicly court her or get married. She’ll just spend the rest of her life dodging her father’s watchful gaze and anybody in the capital city with eyes, and her security detail, and she’ll pay off Carlos when he inevitably finds out what’s going on and—
Julie doesn’t realize the door is open until she hears a harsh voice shout, “¡Aléjate de la princesa!”
Before either of them can truly react, Luke is pulled away from her and manhandled into handcuffs like a common criminal.
“No, Luke! Let him go!!” she shouts, moving to follow him. Her demand goes unheard, as her security hustles Luke out into the hallway, only to shove him against the wall opposite the closet to search him.
“Stop it!” Julie rushes out of the closet, brushing past the guards reaching for her. “He wasn’t hurting me!!”
Luke winces as the guard holding him pulls him away from the wall just enough to shove him against it once more. Despite being rather physically fit himself, he doesn’t see a point in fighting against it. It’ll only make everything worse.
“You idiots, stop it! God, you’re hurting him!” Julie’s voice becomes more and more frantic and Luke can clock the the anger turning to panic in her tone. “Let him go!”
If she doesn’t calm down, she’ll have a full blown panic attack and Luke knows it, but what can he do with his hands cuffed behind his back and his chest pressed against the wall?
“¿Qué está pasando?” Another voice joins the mix. Crap.
“Papí, call them off, please. It’s a misunderstanding,” Julie says in Spanish, though Luke knows enough by now to translate. “He wasn’t hurting me, he would never.” She’s using all her energy to keep her voice from shaking, but if Ray knew her as well as he thought he did, he would hear it.
Without another word, the guards grab Luke, turning him face to face with King Raymond Molina who currently looks the least bit understanding. “Luke,” he says, taking in the sight of Luke in handcuffs. “I thought I told you to stay away from my daughter.”
With a glance at Julie who looks close to tears, but gives the tiniest nod, he looks back at his girlfriend’s father and says with every bit of truth in his being, “I’m sorry for disregarding orders, your highness. But I love your daughter. And by the grace of whatever higher being there is, she loves me too. As long as she’ll have me, I’ll be here. I won’t be sorry for that.”
“¿Qué está pasando? Julie?” A woman with hair and eyes mirroring Julie’s steps into the hallway, wrapping an arm around her daughter immediately. “Luke? Why are you in handcuffs?”
Luke opens his mouth to respond to the queen. “I—“
“He was attacking our daughter, Rose,” Ray tells her.
This sets Julie off again, all of her anger rushing to the surface. “He was not! Mamí, he wasn’t—“
“Shhh, mija, I know,” Rose gently calms her before turning to Luke once more. “Release him.”
“But Rose—“ Ray begins to protest.
“He loves her, Ray. That’s not a crime,” Rose says, glaring daggers at her husband before her expression hardens as she faces the guards once more. “Release him now.”
The guards quickly unlock the cuffs around his wrists, and Luke isn’t ashamed to rub the skin on his wrists.
If this were any other situation, Julie would’ve kept her composure until no one was around, but since she’s already lost her cool once tonight, she doesn’t care anymore. She throws herself into Luke’s chest.
Luke’s arms immediately wrap around her on instinct. “It’s okay, Jules. I’m okay. Just breathe.”
“I think it’s time for you to leave, Luke,” Ray speaks up after a beat.
“No!!” Julie shouts, her grip on Luke tightening. “I’ll never see you again,” she says into his chest. “He won’t allow it.”
“Hey,” he says, cradling her cheek in his hand to catch her attention. Her beautiful brown eyes shine up at him and it truly isn’t fair but if there’s one thing Luke doesn’t do, it’s make promises he can’t keep. “You won’t lose me. I promise.”
She takes hold of his wrist that’s pressed against her cheek, turning her head to give the softest kiss Luke’s ever received in his entire life. It threatens to turn his legs into mush. “Promise.”
Luke presses a kiss to her forehead as a silent goodbye and leaves the palace that night without a fight. He immediately heads back to the apartment he shares with Reggie and Alex to begin plotting his way around this. Because if it’s the last thing he does, he’ll be with Julie Molina.
~
Very sad to make Ray the bad guy but unfortunately someone has to be. Also my Spanish is very rusty so I may have relied on a translator. Pls don’t sue me. Part 2 here!
“¡Aléjate de la princesa!” = Step away from the princess
¿Qué está pasando? = What’s happening?

things you said through a closed door for Willie/anyone plz and thank you?
"Tag, you're it," Reggie said as he sat on the couch, taking the game controller from Willie's hands.
"What am I it to exactly?" Willie asked. "Because Carrie banned inside tag after the awful vase got knocked over."
"Alex is locked in his room again," Reggie replied. "And Julie's in class, so you're the next best option to getting him to come out. I tried bribing him with baked goods but he just told me to go away."
"Should I ask what Luke did?"
"Probably best to not," Reggie quipped. "Anyways, it's your turn."
Willie gave a mock salute, which Reggie returned-all while keeping Yoshi steady on Rainbow Road, and he scaled the stairs. Most of the doors were open, given their weird relationship status none of them had much in the way of privacy, though Flynn did institute door signs that were to be put up when they needed some alone time.
And Alex's door didn't have his up, so Willie went ahead and knocked.
"Go away Reg!"
"Hey hot dog, do you wanna build a snowman?" Willie sang. "Come on let's go and plaaaaaaay."
"I will pay you not to sing the rest of that song. I just got it out after my last babysitting session with Patrick," Alex moaned.
"How about you tell me why you're locked in there instead?" Willie asked, sitting with his back to the door, holding his knees to him. "Might be easier with a door in the way."
"It's stupid," Alex said quietly, but his voice was close enough that Willie could hear it.
"Try me."
"When I was at Livvie's... there was an invitation there for my parent's fortieth wedding anniversary party. They invited her, but not me."
"I mean that party sounds like it will b super lame, do you even want to go?" Willie asked.
"Not at all, but it's the principle of the thing. They found it in their hearts to love and accept Olivia even after Jade transitioned. But they haven't spoken to me, not even tried since hey kicked me out at eighteen."
"Man your parents suck," Willie said with a sigh. "I mean, Caleb is never gonna win a dad of the year award, but he's not a terrible one all told."
"Reggie would say that award is reserved for Ray anyways," Alex sniggered through the door.
"I mean he's not wrong," Willie mused. "There's a reason we spent last Father's Day with him and not our own dads."
"Fuck our dads," Alex replied.
"Yeah, fuck 'em!" Willie exploded.
"No fucking dads!" Reggie called from the family room. "Julie made it a rule after I made one comment about her dad being firm!"
Willie snorted and then giggled, Alex's laughter echoing behind him. He was still wiping the tears from his eyes when Alex opened the door, and Willie stood up to pull him into a hug.
"Thanks Willie," Alex murmured into his shoulder. "Who needs them anyway right?"
"Olivia's not like going is she?" Willie asked.
"God no, she set the thing on fire right in front of my eyes. She doesn't want them anywhere near Patrick."
"Pity, we could have gone with her, really crashed it. Had everyone in Pride gear, make your folks super uncomfortable," Willie said.
Alex snorted. "We probably would have killed my mother."
"I mean would that be the worst thing?" Willie asked, grinning when Alex smacked his chest playfully. "You know we all got your back right?"
"Yeah. You guys are my family, so who needs them?" Alex replied.
"I mean, if we weren't all kind of dating his daughter I bet Ray would adopt us," Reggie said from where he was stood a the end of the hall. "Fuck being a Mercer, or a Peters, I'd rather be a Molina any day."
"You taking her name if you guys ever get hitched?" Willie asked.
"I vote we all should when we have our weird poly commitment ceremony," Alex said.
"Seconded," Reggie said, raising his hand, and grinned when Willie did the same. "The ayes have it then-provided Julie and Ray are cool with it."
In the end, Ray and Julie were more than cool with it, and when they did their weird poly wedding ceremony thing, Ray himself declared from that day forth, they could all freely call themselves a Molina.

i know we’re all absolutely pack bonded to ray molina anyway but seriously think about how many things he exhibits during the show that would have been so unfamiliar to the boys with their families
julie gets kicked out of her music program due to not participating, ray checks with her that it’s still something she cares about and then spends a day tearing his hair out trying to find another program to put her into?? and then pretends it wasn’t even stressing him out?? parental support icon
humours carlos about the ghost for the sake of a cooking and bonding experience
tries to empathise with julie’s grief experience re the ghost rather than just telling her she’s crazy: he sees her mom all the time, it’s different for everyone, etc.
“i could have been excited about tonight, instead of having this conversation we both hate!” like... not a parent Validly Communicating Their Support and Frustration at the Same Time
and then him saying that as long as she’s reasonable about it he doesn’t want to make her quit the band because ‘what kind of father would i be if i took that away from you’ (luke would just be flabbergasted)
stays in contact with flynn, julie’s best friend, of his own accord because he’s worried about julie :(
willing to sell his family home where he lost his wife and move away if it’ll help julie with her grief, but also expresses his own feelings honestly and openly
so much playful cuddling, banter, good energy, relaxed interactions etc.
as soon as he knows about the band he makes sure to turn up to every show and be as supportive as he can
anyway there’s probably more it’s just that there’s so much stuff that i’m sure the boys never got when they were alive and it makes me cry to think how much they’d love and respect ray and how much he’d teach them about what a good family looks like
