What Die Ärzte songs do you recommend for someone just getting into them?

Ok, so here goes a non-exhaustive list of Ärzte songs you should definitely listen to, a.k.a. my favorites, chosen by my taste only, with a few classics thrown in.

I’m gonna assume you have listened to Schrei nach Liebe, but have you listened to Kopfüber in die Hölle? There is no relation other than that they are both off Die Bestie in Menschengestalt, but KiH is my personal nostalgia protest song and overall life hymn, please enjoy with a side of your comfort drink of choice.

They do have a few gut punching love songs that feel like they are taken straight off a fanfic soundtrack, Komm Zurück (Unplugged), Mach die Augen zu and Nichts in der Welt come to mind, in case you planned on crying today.

There are the obvious classics, like Zu Spät, 3 Tage Bart, Männer sind Schweine, Monsterparty (Unplugged), Die Allerschürfste, Junge, or Westerland that you kind of just need to know. Oh, damn, I forgot Bitte Bitte. What a gross oversight, please start with that.

Speaking of protest, nevermind Kopfüber in die Hölle, take Rebell instead. Also, since everyone on here is gay anyway, please consider Meine Freunde.

Runter mit den Spendierhosen, Unsichtbarer! is “my” Ärzte album, and you need to absolutely listen to Mondo Bondage, Ein Sommer nur für Mich, Rock Rendezvous, Herrliche Jahre and ... you know what just listen to the entire thing, marinate in it’s perfection and thank me later. If you don’t want to at a minimum at least listen to Leichenhalle - it was rumored to be written by Rammstein but it wasn’t.

Speaking of entire albums, Rock ‘n’ Roll Realschule is the second best MTV Unplugged right after Nirvana’s, so I suggest you watch that in full.

Besserwisserboy was practically written about me, so naturally I adore it, and generally Geräusch has a few gems such as Jag Älskar Sverige! or Deine Schuld.

Consider M&F because it is fun and you have a good excuse to listen to Lindemann after. One I have recently fallen for is Waldspaziergang mit Folgen. And now I have run out of steam, even though I am sure I forgot so many. I hope it still gets you started on your journey to discover your own favorites. You have only almost 4 decades of material to go through and all you are required to do is to have fun even through the apocalypse, love hard and harder, and beat up a few nazis along the way.

Let me finish with this:

Adding an extra baby Bela, so you get to suffer with me through the entirety of my teenage wet dreams.

You know, that My Chemical Romance song, “I'm the only friend that makes you cry / You're a heart attack in black hair dye / So just save yourself and I'll hold them back tonight” ? I should probably stop wondering why I identify with that line so much and just accept that I have a type.

I plan to read Desiderata but I don't know a thing about Rammstein. What should I know before diving in?

That depends very heavily on what about Rammstein would interest you.

I’ll be honest, anon, Desiderata is not the best story to start with if you’re completely new to R+. The story assumes a familiarity with the band’s history, as well as 1980s East German politics, and depicts both with terms and viewpoints familiar at the time. It’s not very accessible if you want to read a story about Rammstein, I’m afraid, it is very much a period piece.

That said, I can talk a little about what made me write Desiderata; if you’re interested in any of those topics, you’re probably good to go. I will also add some pointers as to how to begin a journey into Rammstein in general. This will be a very long post beneath the cut.

1) I’m interested in life during the GDR. I’m especially interested in how ordinary East Germans lived, down to what they ate, the kinds of people they’d meet, where they could travel to for the holidays. What people take for everyday occurrences are anything but outside of their homes. Most of Desiderata takes place in the pre- and early-Rammstein era (1985-1995), when the band members didn’t know they were going to get so big, nor what would happen after the reunification of Germany. I wanted to depict their era realistically. Desiderata is a written painting of that time.

2) I wanted to write on the anti-authoritarian character. To distill a long and complex history down, Rammstein has their origins in Ostpunk, and many of its band members spent their early life resisting the government in one way or another. They didn’t all do this in the same way, nor always with the conscious desire to stick it to the government. Sometimes they paid for it anyway. In Richard’s case, with terrible consequences, as his arrest and detainment by the Stasi finally made him flee the country. Desiderata is written in Richard’s POV and includes a sequence on what might have occurred during this time, as well as an analysis of his general psyche on the years leading up to that arrest. Desiderata’s account relies heavily on actual interviews Richard has done, as well as published Rammstein material, so if you’re interested in a character study of this sort you might like it.

3) I did not want to depict the above through the patronizing lens commonly found in Western media. It’s easy to fall into the trap of binary opposites when you’re writing about stuff like this: Richard was oppressed by the GDR so he must hate everything about the GDR, and/or furthermore, the GDR must have been evil. It’s the other way around if you’re approaching this from an anti-capitalist lens: if the East Germans had known the ‘freedom’ which lay beyond the wall was actually mid-stage capitalism, and if they’d known how badly that shit would break down in a couple of decades, they wouldn’t have wanted it.

Now I do not know what the objectively correct political position is here. But when you’re writing a character study of Richard, it shouldn’t be either of those. It’s definitely not how Rammstein looks at their past, judging by the interviews they’ve given and the books they’ve published; not even Richard has such a black-and-white approach to the life he led. It’s easy to forget that when you’re writing a fic, or even an article which tries to lean on the ‘facts’; one’s subconscious biases inform how they process facts, and I want to do better than that. I’ve fallen into that morality trap before because I didn’t know any better, and as a result I wrote some really bad stories, and I am ashamed of that. Rammstein have led a rich and complicated life with ups and downs. Many of them sincerely loved the GDR, the ones who didn’t still saw plenty of self-admitted good in it. If you would like to bask in my efforts at honesty, as fragmented as it is (for in the end, I am not from the GDR), Desiderata is the best I’ve done to this date.

4) Some good old Tillchard. Yes, I admit it, Desiderata is also a pairing exercise. ‘Tillchard’ is the shorthand for the pairing between Till (vocal) and Richard (lead guitarist); they are longtime friends in real life, and they share a trust between them seldom paralleled by anyone else in the band, imo. They’ve lived together for a time, they raised their daughters together, they began their foray into music in general while being aware of each other. They have duets together for God’s sake. I’ve been digging Tillchard for ten years so I need to stop before this becomes a longer essay than it should be, but long story short, if this becomes the first pairing you’re interested in I’d recommend adding Desiderata to the fanfic pile.

Ultimately, all the above points would still work out for the best if you knew more about Rammstein. Now for the practical recommendations. See if you like their music first: currently they have seven albums out, the most recent of which is Rammstein (2019). I don’t know how hard you like your music, but in order of most hardness to least my rank goes:

Their best tracks usually have music videos attached to them. Check them out too. R+ take serious care with their music video narratives, they’re often their own little story in themselves. Their live performances are worth watching, even in video. If you can read German, I would also recommend checking out Rammstein literature, of which there are plenty. Till has three volumes of poetry out (Messer, In Stillen Nachten, 100 Gedichte); Flake has two autobiographies (Der Tastenficker and Heute hat die Welt Geburtstag, the latter of which is available in English); Mix Mir Einen Drink is the biography of Feeling B, which many members of Rammstein played in before Rammstein, and is an invaluable source for GDR life.

Out of everything I’ve listed, as of Feb 2021, Flake’s autobiography is hands-down the best place to begin your Rammstein journey. There will be a more extensive book about Rammstein by Olaf Heine soon, but it won’t be released until later this year.

There is no end goal to how much you should be interested in Rammstein, or what about the band you ought to like. At any point in this journey, try out a fic or two, see what you like. The fandom has written about basically every music video, every notable event that happened to the band (some may include sources!), and just about every combination of pairings possible among the six. You are in very well-covered territory, I promise :D

Feel free to ask more questions if need be. There is so much you can write about this band, I’ve definitely not covered everything. If at any point in this process you read Desiderata, and you end up enjoying it, that’s all I could ask for.

*cracks fingers* Yes! My time to shine has come!! I can finally shove down people’s throats all the amazing smutty fan fics I’ve read. I’ve been training for this my whole life XD

(this took a while. I wanted to includ some sort of description too but I ended up writing some tags and my reaction to the fic rather than a short summary, which would have been more helpful ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Literally everything by FeatheredShadow. I cannot stress enough how much I love everything she writes. The honorable mentions (aka my favourites) are:

das feuer wäscht die seele rein – Till/Paul. That’s it, that’s my favourite fic written by her. It’s soft, it’s cute and it’s adorable. Romance with a side dish of sexual frustration, everything is written so well and asjkl I’m in love pLEASE LET THE BOYS BE TOGETHER

Most of the fics written by Arrestzelle. Also I think most all her fics are smut, so you have what to choose from. Again, these are just my favourites aka the ones I always come back to (I reread fan fiction a lot ok??)

Mein Tier – you know that one fic with Frau Schneider and the other guys as some fucked up dogs? That’s it :)) The smutty chapters are suggestively titled and dear lord let me tell you they are good.

I'm afraid I can't really give you recommendations regarding this, since I haven't read a lot of fan fiction which is influenced by Rammstein's music videos. I'm more a reader of completely separated AUs (which have no points of contact with the band in general) or realistic settings like the band's history (plus I'm currently reading more physical books and not much fanfiction to begin with, shame on me 😶‍🌫️).

But apart from the absolute brilliant Kanal 5 universe created by the talented @ms-nerd I've read the following AU which is influenced by "Ich will":

Can you recommend any good bands that sing in Norwegian?

Hi Anon!

That depends on what kind of music you like. I usually hate (or dislike very much) when Norwegian is being sung. Because it is mostly Oslo-Norwegian. And most Norwegians actually don't speak close to that. One should learn Nynorsk instead.

There is ONE song that is sung in old Danish Norwegian/Oslo Norwegian that I do like but that is very slow and classical from a Norwegian musical called Peer Gynt.

Solveigs sang (Solveig's song) but only when it's sung by Solveig Kringlebotn. It is on Spotify but I couldn't find the one with this singer as an upload to sound here on Tumblr. Sorry!

With that written; there is a band that sing in and old dialect Norwegian/Nynorsk-ish.

They are very folk rock/folk metal and even use the violin (a very traditional instrument in Norwegian folk music).

I like some of their songs but that is probably because they don't sing Oslo Norwegian (the kind of Norwegian you learn everywhere but I think should not be learned unless you wanne live there).

Anyway; The band is called Gåte (Riddle) and has a female singer. You pronounce Gåte like Gawté (almost). Their most famous song is called Sjå Attende (Look back/look behind).

But that is not the one I wanne show you. I think this one is very mysterious and beautiful one of Gåte's newest songs, HULDRA (the name of a Scandinavian female mythological creature and a creature that will be featured in a Rammstein fanfic series I am working on) ANYWAY here;

Of course we also had a famous band called KAIZER'S Orchestra (but they don't play anymore and their songs were very silly and the lyrics made no sense even for a Norwegian. It was like taking words and creating sentences that made no sense! I never liked them but maybe you will?) Their most famous song was "OMPA TIL DU DØR" (Ompa music/ Ompa until you are dead)

So to sum it all up; Dear Anon

I don't like Norwegian music sung in today's "Oslo- Norwegian.". I only like Norwegian music that are sung in Old Norwegian or Nynorsk. You can check out these bands;

Gåte (you can also write Gaate and the band should still show up)

Edvard Grieg's (classical 1800's pianist and compositioner) Solveig's Sang/Song but only when it's sung by Solveig Kringlebotn or Sissel Kyrkjebø.

Kaizers Orchestra (even though I've never liked them, but perhaps you will).

Sorry for not being so into Norwegian bands singing in Norwegian. It's just that I can't stand the Oslo Norwegian. I think it sounds very flat and not melodious enough to be sung. That's why I actually prefer Swedish bands singing in Swedish! 😂👌

Firstly, The Other Side of Midnight is my favorite Rammstein fic! “Till and Paul tell each tales to pass a sleepless night.” Paul and Till share stories about how they fucked Schneider, basically. I really like this one because one of Paul’s stories takes place in Feeling B era and I soak that shit up like a sponge. Plus it’s written beautifully. Like, this is one of those fics that makes me envious it’s so damn good. Read it or else!!!!

Fried Eggs and Honey - “Feeling B are just becoming established, but Paul wants more. He doesn’t know exactly what it is that he wants, though - not until he meets the shy, mysterious Till.” A super cute fic that I read all in one night. It’s written so realistically and casually that you can’t help but feel like you’ve lived the moment. I love fics that actually feel genuine. And Till is adorable. And Paul is so Paul. This fic literally had me punching the bed because they wrote Paul so spot-on. His faults and flaws, when he was young. Read this one. It’s so cute and perfect and the romance is written so realistically and ahhhh

Heroic & Durable by @zigratbites - “Paul has an accident on stage, but decides the show must go on anyway. This leads to some yelling, h/c and kissing.” Another great, wonderful, perfect fic where they capture Paul’s personality well. He’s a dedicated dumbass who will do whatever it takes to get something done well, and this shows in this fic. The side of Chrispaul does not hurt one bit, either. Love this one so much!!!

My Girl. by @till-hammer - “Frau Schneider comes out of her shell, but only for him.” this is Till/Schneider! this fic is SO GOOD I want more like this. exploration of character and gender is a favorite of mine. def recommend this one. love love love it

führe mich, halte mich by @slashs-head-is-fuzzy - “Paul and Christoph impulse fuck after leading each other on with regular cuddling sessions.” LEGIT ONE OF MY FAV FICS AHHHH this fic is for me and naturally I requested Paul topping. I adore how Paul is written, and the smut is sehr gut ahhh

sehnsucht ist so grausam by @lunarcorvid - “As they wrap up the shoot for Du Hast, Till finds himself staring at the pistol that Schneider still has tucked into the back of his pants.” A++++ this is so hot lmao gun play can be so good if written well

Lied der unruhevollen Jugend by @wiener-blut - “After spending some time at a party, Christoph and Paul meander back to Paul’s flat, wasted, to have some more fun.” I LOVE THIS FIC another Feeling B era fic, done by the lovely Lily, for my birthday ;w; It’s so cute and fun and she is always so spot-on when it comes to portraying their personalities. Def read!!

Scent - “Paul is careless; Christoph gets mad.” I love this one. It’s short, but so so sweet. I’m a sucker for fluff. And they wrote them both well, too. It’s so cute ahhhh

You Make Me Perfect by @krispy-posts - No summary, but basically domestic Schneider and Paul being cute before delving into smut. I am sooo weak for the beginning domesticity, and also the mention of chubby WHDT era Paul. I’ve reread this fic so often. I adore it ;o;

Jetzt hab’ ich dich by @wiener-blut - “Attending a sophisticated ball, a particular man catches her eye.” A DRSG ‘98 AU where the reader is attending the ball and Paul approaches and dances with you ahhHHHHH I LOVE THIS ONE IT MAKES ME MELT

ich will eure blicke spuehren by @lunarcorvid - “Till and Richard need to work off some post-show adrenaline when they get back to the hotel room. Richard has an idea involving cigarettes.” I have a thing for smoking and Richard casually lighting up while sitting on Till’s dick is super hot lol

Rock Star - “Till overhears things on the tour bus.” Paul and Schneider flirt, with Till sitting in another room, hearing it. It’s from Till’s perspective. It’s really cute and funny!! Inspired by this pic:

rein, raus - “ Paul could never shut up, especially at the most important of times. Like when fucking with Christoph on a tour bus while their band mates are sleeping.” summary says it all LMAO I think this was the first smutty Rammfic I read and actually enjoyed.

All My Marks On Your Skin - “Paul can’t remember when seeing Schneider’s claim on his skin became such an essential part of his life.” Post-concert fic where they stand in front of a mirror and Schneider touches his bruises! It’s Good™.

the strings that change the faces of men by @slashs-head-is-fuzzy - “Richard initiates something with Ollie. Schneider joins in on the fun. It all remains among friends, of course.” a very nicely written threesome fic!! I adore how Richard is written in this and the smut is EXCELLENT

Fluffy Slippers by @writing-rammstein (go and read all of her fics honestly, they’re all cute and perfect) - “For the prompt: ‘can u hook a gal up with some good ol reader/paul hugging?‘” A request made by me LMAO This is super cute and sweet, I love it so much T__T

Herr Lorenz - “ After an inconsiderate joke, Flake feels insecure. Paul might just have the solution to it.” Feeling B era!! This was one of the first Rammstein fics I ever read…It’s so sweet. I love their friendship so much ahhhhh

Broken Machine by @iinchicore - “This story is set in 1994, during the time Rammstein stayed in Eichwalde to work on the songs for their first record, Herzeleid. The plot mainly focuses on Flake's struggle dealing with his speech disorder.” This one is so relatable and touching. I love this dynamic between Till and Flake and the writing is BEAUTIFUL ackkk please read!!

So seid recht gut auf allen Wegen (So be good in all your journeys) by @prismabird - “Far from home for the first time, Till finds solace from the unfamiliar in the arms of the familiar (based on Till, Richard, and Oli’s first trip to America in 1993).” So far, this fic is REALLY enjoyable to read. I love the element of friendship and reliance on each other. It’s a fun read, albeit sprinkled with some angst. I have laughed a couple times, and I related to Richard’s struggle with language.

Scar Tissue - “While Till and Paul attempt to get on with their lives and repair an alreay damaged relationship, the band are also dealing with their bandmate who is suffering from a serious addiction.” This one is really, very good. I love the TillPaul aspect, but it’s very bittersweet. This fic is so sad, it nearly brought me to tears hhhh

Du riechst so gut - “Paul finds Schneider's scarf while he is cleaning up the hotel-room he's in for the moment. He really had just intended to use it to block out the light but- well, he's not going to complain about what happens instead.” this writing is excellent, and the smut is very enjoyable. I adore any author that includes realism: Schneider’s inexperience and sloppiness in attempting to blow Paul is really appreciated.

Heart of the Matter by @weitweg-vonmir - “Paul received a heart transplant from a stranger that saved his life. Now, a year later, that stranger's lover comes to meet the recipient of the transplant.” man this fic is like a punch to the gut. honestly, I’m seldom ever moved by angst fic, but this one legit made me cry, thinking about how fucked up and sad this whole situation is. you can only feel true sympathy for both sides of this. excellently written A+

Nähe des Geliebten by @naraism - “It's New Year's Day and the boys (Paul and Richard) finally have some free time just for themselves.” so soft and warm throughout it....such nice writing, too. and ugghh TOP PAUL IS MY WEAKNESS overall a really enjoyable fic!!

Together - It has no summary but basically Ollie and Paul go to the stage of where they’re going to perform to get a feel for it, and cute stuff happens. I wish there was more Ollie/Paul out there ),:

Let Me See You Stripped by @wiener-blut - “Post concert, Paul submerges himself in an indulgent fantasy with Schneider.” this one is a bday gift for me and it is SOOOO good lmaooo lily knows what i likes B) good shit

Wir halten uns den Arm (We hold each other by the arm) - “Paul and Richard spend some quality time together.” I found this more cute than sexy. I like how they wrote Paul in this!!

For the sake of full coverage, I wanted to include my personal favorites of my own works. This is more or less in order from #1 favorite.

Ich Will Eure Hände Sehen - “A six-man group of criminals, lead by Till, operate in early 2000's Berlin. A series of occurrences, both good and bad.” This is my baby lmao it’s been with me since I first joined the fandom, and I really need to finish it. I love the characters sm... prob the most effort I’ve put into any of my fanfics in a long time ♡

Mein Tier - “Frau Schneider keeps to herself, unusually so. Her weekly life consists only of work, and staying at home. Unbeknownst to the people around her, Schneider goes home every day to five loyal dogs. Dogs who are unaware of their state of captivity. Dogs who are not truly dogs, but men with their humanity deteriorated to that of beasts. But they are more than happy to be cared for by their neurotic, loving master.” I’m so fond of this fic; I love all of the characters, and the dynamics. it is so fun to write for!! ♡

Reconnecting - “Paul and Schneider used to have an on-and-off-again sexual relationship when they were younger. Now it's 2017, and something has reignited.” I LOVE this one. Schneider/Paul is my OTP, and this was the one time I shoved all my Feelings for them into a fic. it’s so soft and intimate

Stripping Away the Layers - “It's been a while since their last "session". It seems Schneider has to reteach Paul how to obey. Unlike Till, who has always striven to please him, Paul clings to his pride. Schneider manages to rip it from him. One in red catches his eye.” I’m mostly really proud of the second chapter... I love the pace of it, and the developing relationship. writing in different time periods is also sooo fun (plus ngl I really love prostitute AUs)

Worth the Risk - “Ollie visits Schneider in the secrecy of the night at a secluded villa where they're currently producing their newest album. He and Schneider make use of their bandmates' absence.” a super indulgent, super kinky Schneider/Ollie fic that I’ve reread multiple times just because I feel like I got it just right; it’s pretty damn hot lol

A Rocky Start - “Paul gets up earlier than Flake, and decides to make them breakfast. Soon enough, Flake joins him with a lovely surprise. Paul was never the best at resisting temptation.” I couldn’t get this idea out of my head while at work, and I’m really pleased that I managed to get it into words just how I envisioned it... so soft and warm and sexy ♡ I love this ship so much and I hope you give it a chance!!

And that’s about it! My greatest recommendation is exploring Rammstein fanfic as a whole, it’s another world of fandom that I feel deserves more recognition. Don’t be shy to test the waters!

Degrees: Master of Science in Engineering, Software Engineering. I am NOT a computer scientist. I’m an engineer, thank you very much.

Instruments: Recorder, many many years ago (for real, I played it for 10 years. Bass recorders are fun)

Favourite author: uh. I don’t know? Ilona Andrews, probably? Not highbrow, but their books are good and interesting, and I love their blog - they sometimes talk about writing, and I like the tidbits. It’s good to get advice outside of tumblr, I think. I would have said Tolkien, but I’m not even sure anymore. Naomi Novik is another option, her fiction reads like fanfic, in all the right ways.

Favourite Star Wars: Uh? I don’t know? Maybe 7? I liked seeing Leia and Han being old, that their relationship wasn’t perfect. It rang true for me, and it’s rare we see our heroes get old. I also really like Rey, she is bad ass, and I love Finn and Poe (and I totally ship those two, and Rey is ace, fight me). I didn’t love all things about it, but a lot. I thought 8 was a mess, story-wise, but I loved Holden, and I love the new movies in how they allow older people to be right and that the brashness of youth is not always right. I also like that heroes can become less, like Luke. I know a lot of people hated that, but I didn’t. I think the new movies really cater to people who might be my age or older - people were kids or babies when the first movies came out.

Last Google Search: Uh it’s a secret. I searched for a name - a potential pen name for the fantasy erotica I’ll write one day in the future lol.

Recommend a video game: Assassin’s Creed Origin. I love the story (what is success, and what is failure? what price are you willing to pay? When do you become what you fight?)

Recommend a music album: I don’t really listen to a lot of music. Let me go with Rammstein’s Rosenrot.

Recommend a book: Naomi Novik’s Uprooted. If you haven’t read it you should. It is great Eastern European myth inspired fantasy, some light spookiness, but not really. A great protag, and two main characters who were also great, great character development, plot and romance. Great side characters too.

Recommend a recipe: Chicken and Apples in Honey Mustard Sauce by Simplyrecipes.com. The sauce is so good! It’s my oldest kids favorite dish I make. Since my husband has become vegetarian we make it without the chicken, yes its just apples in sauce but its great lol. I love this website in general.

Share a creative thought that you had today: This Japanese Maple leaves would look really great as a backdrop for my nail insta! frankly though, not much creative thoughts today, all of my creativity was taken up by work, and random personal stuff.

ARE YOU STAYING HOME FROM WORK/SCHOOL? yes, for one I just had a week vacation (which didn’t really bring “relaxation” with it per se, I’m kinda happy that tomorrow it’s over) plus work related my job is luckily possible from home, so yeah - Homeoffice it is currently.

Okay, hmmm, what type do you like? I must admit, I’ve only read them on ao3, so if anyone sees this question and has another recc, please don’t hesitate to add to it.

As far as actual realistic band member interaction goes: anything by autiotalo. The author has 12 stories about R+, and they are all good (I am personally weak as fuck for the Till/Paul one and canto ….idk, man, they make me think about things, and the author is undeniably talented with words and getting the emotion across)

For original plot :…. A Doctor Who/Rammstein crossover of all things. Now,I know what you’re thinking - how would you even combine this?GLORIOUSLY. That’s how. I am not kidding when I say, as far as original plots go, this is one of the most creative crossovers I’ve ever read. It’s got 12 chapters and it’s still being updated and the potential itself is making me hyped fo- Sorry. Look, it’s just surprisingly good. Some minor spelling mistakes aside, the characterization is really intriguing and the plot is really fresh… and it’s technically canon that Till has weak spot for pretty blondes.(I don’t know anything about Doctor Who to be honest, and it’s still easy to follow)

For “pwp, OC/Till” - Heat. It’s fun and cute and has some nice sex in it - check the tags if you’re specifically against those kinks, but overall it’s a very lovely pwp written by @girlwiththepapatattoo.

and for weird (because we’re talking about R+ here): Hoo boy, err, there is this one.. erm, how to describe it… I would call it Tarantino-indie movie of fanfics? It would honestly almost be tasteless if it wasn’t as weird? Like, it’s undeniably non realistic, questionably OOC and yet, after I read it, it was so..stuck in my head.. I really have no idea how to recommend it to you… or to tell you to stay away from it.

What is your favorite thing about the Rammstein community?

Oh gosh, everyone here is just so amazing, I couldn’t be able to pick just one thing!

I love:

• The way that everyone voices their opinions! You see so many posts in such amazing detail as to why Reesh is so-and-so’s favorite member and why Reise, Reise is so-and-so’s favorite album, etc. I just love reading through these!

• Everyone is so generous.

Example 1:

“I haven’t seen that interview before and I can’t find it, mind sharing the link?”

“Of course! [insert random link] Now I will give you background info on this interview [insert background info that no one knew they needed until it was given to them]”

Example 2:

“Any good fanfic recommendations?”

“You know it! [insert list of 25 fucking amazing fanfics that few people knew existed]”

Example 3:

*posts rare picture* “Anyone know what’s up with this picture?”

“Definitely! [insert 5 paragraph long essay including where it was taken, why it was taken, who it was taken by, and what they had for lunch the day it was taken]”

And that’s just barely scratching the surface!

• Everyone is so kind, compassionate and empathetic. If someone even hints at the fact that they’re having a rough time, you can bet your ass everyone is gonna go out of their way to make said person feel loved! It’s so weird how people think that Rammstein fans are brutal as fuck but really we’re all just like Sensitive™️.

• Everyone knows how to share the love for the bois. In other fandoms I’ve seen shit like:

“Omg XYZ is so good looking.”

“Back off bitch he’s m i n e.”

Whereas here you see:

“Schneider is looking fine like he always is a i just want one fucking hug from him.”

“Me too, bitch. We should start a club!”

• There aren’t any psycho b1tchez. From what I’ve seen, there’s no one talking trash about the bois’ wifes/girlfriends. That makes me so happy because my heart drops every time I see someone in a fandom talk shit about the person’s girlfriend.

• Everyone is so civilized! If two people disagree, they don’t lash out at each other’s throats! Instead, in a polite manner, they give reasoning as to why they think what they do.

• It’s very educational in a way? It’s not all about how hot the guys are (though that is a big part and I l o v e it) we also actually discuss Rammstein’s discography, history, etc., and that is VERY refreshing.

• How much Rammstein brings us all together. It’s so heartwarming to see everyone bond over this amazing band and it’s amazing music.

I love everyone in this community so much, I think it is the best community I have ever been in.
