Rafe Spall

he’s in Jurassic World (2015), Black Mirror White Christmas, I give it a Year, (2013,) The Life of Pi (2012…), the Big Short (2015) and of course, Hot Fuzz (2007.)
He was 23-24 when they shot Hot Fuzz, so he was one of the youngest cast members (aside from the actual kids) and he mentions that he was very anxious abt it and all. And he’s a BIG fan of Paddy Considine and he lived and went on runs with him during the shooting of the movie, which is kind of sweet. He’s soooo handsome. And so funny. I watched 15% of his filmo :) Madonna grinded on him once. for like 3 whole minutes.
Paddy Considine

You’ve probably seen him in House of Dragons, Macbeth (2015), Pride (2014), the World’s End (2013)…and Hot Fuzz (2007.) He was diagnosed with ASD! He was i think 33ish during the shooting of Hot Fuzz and he praises Rafe in the BTS of the movie and it’s very sweet lol. He’s my quirked up white boy but I’ve only watched 9% of his filmography :(

The F Word (2013)
I don’t know why it took me so long to watch this one but 11/10 for humour.
Daniel Radcliffe picks the best scripts - not sure if I’ve spiralled about Miracle Workers on here much but the humour 🤌🏽 - this was in a similar vein.
This was good. I feel like it was a bit choppy/rushed and introduced characters (like the sister and nephew) only to neglect them which was annoying, but otherwise, good.
Overall, a fun watch. Adam Driver is amazing.

263 - A Good Year
Tumblr media
After the Oscar and box office success of Gladiator, director/star duo of Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe decided to reunite in 2006 for a very different kind of film, A Good Year. Starring Crowe as a finance bro who returns to the French vineyard of his beloved but estranged and now deceased uncle (played by Albert Finney), the film offered Scott the chance to shoot a film close to home and stretch himself into comedy. With Marion Cotillard as Crowe's love interest and Abbie Cornish as the uncle's rightful heir, Scott's fledgling comedy chops resulted in a misfire and one of the biggest bombs of his career.
This episode, we discuss the Ridley Scott post-Best Picture filmography and the 2006 Best Actor race. We also look at Cotillard's Oscar win during a strike year, Cornish's world-traveling dialects, and the 2006 TIFF Galas.
Topics also include Industry, a former lost episode, and Buffalo voice.

Hi where can I watch Desperate Romantics? I definitely want to watch it for the plot and not for Peter Sandys-Clarke
Lucky for you the plot is simple, it's pretty boys painting pretty girls while hiding their deep homosexual feelings...okay that's a joke.
It's actually a fictional telling of the lives of the Pre-Raphalite Brotherhood set in London as they seek fame and to revolutionise the art world.
It's six episodes, one hour long each. Peter Sandys-Clarke is only in the last two of this series but is the most likeable male in it.
It's currently available to buy on Amazon, and you can get the DVD from CEX for £2.50.
But you can watch it currently on Dailymotion, Youtube and Flixtor (thanks @spineless-lobster)
I've also made a drive with all the episodes here (UPDATE: my dumbass only realised the first half is on here so will need to do this again....) so if those links ever go down the show can still be watched
Btw this show has some nudity and like...not the best treatment of women...but it's a fun show and an interesting watch

new girl
synopsis; moving into a new town seems difficult, until a certain Cameron boy takes a liking to you.
warnings; alcohol
MASTER LIST
The car revs faster, a blur of different greens merge into one; emerald, sage, and pine. The low hum of the radio fills up an empty space of your mind, mean while the other part of your brain is filled with racing thoughts.
What if I don't make friends?
I hope I'm not a total loser.
What if I never fit in?
You push these thoughts away, trying to think of the positives; a fresh start, new people, a new environment. These thoughts come at a perfect time as the car halts in front of a gorgeous house.
You click the door handle open, a gentle warmth invading your skin from the sun. Slinging your bag over your shoulder, you turn to be met with 4 unfamiliar yet kind faces softly smiling at you.
With lots of introductions and handshakes from both families, you've come to learn that these are your new neighbours, the older gentlemen being Ward Cameron, his wife Rose, and two daughters, Sarah and Wheezie.
"Mr and Mrs L/N, you should really come along to our house this evening for dinner." Rose politely invites, with your parents agreeing.
"Of course! Y/N you should really come to the firepit at the beach in a few hours and we can meet my friends! We could even get ready together." Sarah spews out, her bubbly personality shining through.
You laugh and agree instantly, this was falling into place nicely.
Sarah invited you over to get ready as your room was messy and filled with labelled boxes. She wore a simple white 'paper bag' style dress, whilst smearing lip-gloss across her pink, full lips.
You wore a flowy halter neck dress, with gold jewellery to match. You were slightly nervous, not knowing anyone there.
"I've already told a few of my friends about you, and they're lovely, I'll be your guide tonight!" She says, focusing on what shoes to wear.
"Okay, I'm in good hands then. Any people I should be staying away from?" You ask, whilst putting mascara on.
"Maybe my older brother? He doesn't have the best rapport. He thinks he's really cool, but in reality, is too far up his own ass." She says, laughing at the end.
You laugh along, but wonder why you hadn't seen her brother before.
Leaving through the doors, you both say your goodbyes to your parents, hearing them laugh and get tipsy on wine. Following Sarah, you simultaneously follow the path to her car, where she flashes the fluorescent headlights on.
The drive there included lots of yelling, and alot of singing to old one direction songs. Everything froze when you pulled up and you could see the huge bonfire, sparks flying out and the flames dancing, inviting you both to join.
Sarah pulls your hand playfully, leading you over to a group of teenagers your age, all of them introducing themselves; John B, JJ, Pope, and Kiara.
JJ, slightly drunk, wraps his arm around your neck and shows you to the alcohol table, leaving once he hears;
"JJ, we're doing beer pong!" John B yells over.
You laugh to yourself slightly, turning to see a crowd of people watching the showdown in anticipation. You pour yourself some vodka coke into a red solo cup, and sit on a chair abit further from the crowd, watching the pale moonlight shine onto the calm water.
Hearing the sand get shuffled behind you, and the strain of the chair next to you, an older blonde boy sits next to you.
"Y/N, is it? Looks like the OuterBanks has graced us with a pretty one." He speaks suddenly. Turning your head, you get a better look at him. He's considerably tall, with ocean blue eyes, a loose bit of hair on his face.
"Yep, that's me, and you are?" You smile, blush tinging your cheeks slightly.
"Rafe, Rafe Cameron." He says, his eyes boring into mine. Watching you carefully, and analysing your face carefully when you slightly grimaced at the name.
"Presume you've already heard questionable things about me." Looking down he says, shamed by his reputation.
"Oh no, of course not! I've been told by Sarah that you're a slight troublemaker. I'm actually your new neighbour." You enlighten him, a smirk now replacing his bashful face.
"And the OuterBanks grants us another miracle." He says lowly, pulling your chair closer to his, pulling an arm around you, clearly making a move.
"I'm going to get another drink quickly, want anything?" You blurt out, taken aback by his gestures. He shakes his head, as you walk away to the alcohol table, feeling his eyes follow you like lasers.
You get yourself a beer, and collect your thoughts, along with your blush. Turning around, you can see one of Rafe's friends has taken your chair, as well as the rest of them colonising your quieter area.
You walk over confidently, knowing you'd meet them one way or another anyway. Rafe's eyes avert to yours as he spreads his legs wider on his chair.
"Isn't it rude of him to take your chair? Well, being the gentlemen I truly am, I made you a new one." He proudly says, smirking as he looks down to his lap. His friends go silent, wondering what your next move is.
"Why, thank you Rafe." You wink, and sit down on his lap, deciding to play his game. He's slightly shocked, but wraps an arm around your waist anyway, ensuring people see that your mind is only on him.
"Y/N L/N WELCOME TO THE OUTERBANKS!" He yells out for the whole party to hear, everyone cheering and yelling your name. Rafe's friends playfully pushing you both about and raising their solo cups, whilst the music blares louder.
You knew from this moment on, that the OuterBanks was going to be special.
